Guest Reviews
- ian (1/5): Dont go here unless youre ok with a hmo - Nothing at all Everyrhng. The place says holyhead inn.
Its basically a HMO above an indian restaurant. The only reason we didnt just up and leave was there was nowhere else available , in the area. We were told to use the bathroom in another room. There was excrement down the toilet. The showerhead was hanging loose from the shower. When i told the staff in the restaurant, they told me to use the bathroom on the 1st floor. Being woken at 3am by my wife to escort her to the toilet is not ok.
- John (4/5): - Allocated room was good, but required finishing off Not enough facilities for the amount of rooms for hire age
- Lakshmi Narasimha Naga Manikanta (1/5): -
- Andre (2/5): It’s a very basic accommodation, with a kitchen down the corridor and a bathroom shared by the 4 rooms with a broken sho - Nothing… Where do I start…. The whole setup is very basic. It’s upstairs with no banisters. Front door difficult to lock/unlock. It’s not en-suite. No kettle etc in the room. Very scruffy place above an Indian restaurant. The bedding was basic and unironed . The TV was 1 channel totally unsettleable and in a very inconvenient place mounted to the wall. The bathroom was 40 odd meters down the corridor shared with 4 other rooms. The shower head is uncontrollably.
- Martha (6/5): - Everything was so clean You can use the TV. To got the key was so confuse
- Molloy (3/5): - Staff were helpful. It wsd close to the port It was really part of an Indian redysursmt. So hard to find. The room eas minute and tje batroom a long way from rhe roim. The telebision didnt worknor dod the wifi
- Dawn Millree (1/5): - Nothing Advertised as whole apartment was a room with shared facilities, very steep stairs no heating
- Toff (7/5): -
- Sarah (2/5): Hmmm - Staff lovely and very helpful Buuut I woke up at 5:30am to catch the bus from Holyhead, and I seen a bug on my daughters vest… it was a hair louse, I definitely do not have head lice nor does my baby, and it was an adult… as you can see the navy blanket and grey floors prove location, i had our clothes laid on the other bed for the early morning, I had a funeral so couldn’t even bother complaining but I had to let people know because that’s really bad, I was there with my baby, they can live 24-48 hours off human hair, I’ve since had to do treatments INCASE…. And my under 2 year old has had to be treated INCASE, aswell….. I dunno not good….
- Maharjan (3/5): Very bad and awful stay. - Only location was better as it was near to the sea area where we were planning to visit The property was huge with shared kitchen and shared bathroom with 20 people which I felt very very unhygienic, there is no attached toilets, there is a tv but without remote so no use , no bottle drinking water available only tap water, also staff were very unprofessional , rude and full of attitude. The weather was very wet and we were completely wet ,so we requested them to turn on heater as there was centralised heater however they responded and finally turned heater on after 2 hours. I felt very disgusting and left early morning. Will not suggest this place to anyone.
- Jack (4/5): - it was clean enough lack of communication, waiting for an hour and half to check in, right above a loud busy street and restaurant
- john (2/5): Avoid! - I had previously eaten in the restaurant connected to the hotel and the staff had been very friendly and helpful. When I arrived for my stay I very much got the feeling I was an inconvenience and was left hanging around while waiting to be shown to my roof and again later when I went down to eat. There was no toilet roll or glass to have a drink of water. The restaurant ignored my dietary needs. Needless to say, I won't be going there again! Staff attitude, lack of facilities!
- karen (6/5): Mind the stairs - Close to shops Steep stairs no railing. Not easy to find. TV and wifi not working. No staff on site to ask
- Lewis (1/5): -
- J (4/5): -
- Mari (4/5): I slept and was comfortable enough, disappointed - I was shocked to see the sink in the bathroom had hairs in it as someone had shaved and not washed afterwards, there was a general unkept feel to the bathroom. The kitchen was unfinished, the milk was solid sour in the bottle which the host replaced from the worktop to the fridge while showing me around, i had to search for an unstained mug for a hot drink luckily there was uht satchets
- Vladimir (1/5): -
- wang (5/5): -
- Jayne (1/5): I didn’t stay there I found somewhere else to go - Nothing Dirty and unkempt. Shared toilet/bathroom
- Miroslav (1/5): - It didnt like me nothing, I got really disaponted.
It should not be listed as a hotel, but rather as a temporary accommodation. It does not meet the expectations to call it a hotel. I didnt like the entrance to unconfortable to get up, to look the entrance door doesnt work properly, the shawer so dirty, the room likes prision without window and air conditioner, to bad to get sleep its really noise from the indian take away in the first floor, they were loud till mid night, not good to have a rest or good sleep. I wont recomend to any body.
- olivia (6/5): Very nice customer service, was very helpful and made us feel welcomed:) - The communal kitchen was nice to have and the
Shower was good water pressure and nice.
Comfy beds and room. the tv remote didnt work but the minute we asked we got a remote that worked!
- William (1/5): The house was noisy" dirty and infested with mice - Breakfast not included Everything was bad.The Landlord was Scruffy.Smelly and very miserable
- Anthony (2/5): -
- Wilson (1/5): Won't stay there again, not designed for a guest house. - No breakfast , kitchen in a terrible state, bathroom shower tray filthy door to room didn't fit properly which caused doors banging so couldn't sleep. TV not working. Cups in kitchen were all dirty, decor just slapped on. No signs outside so we couldn't find the property. In general I would not recommend anyone to stay there. Every thing, They should be given me a a refund. This place is not ready or set up for guests. If we had not got there so late, we would not have stayed there. But due to a bereavement and a long Journey we had no choice. Should you wish to contact me, please email me.

- Simon (1/5): Rude staff - Nothing My member of staff (single female) felt unsafe in the property and when she called the number to explain she was leaving and her concerns the male member of staff was rude and aggressive. I phoned to check what was going on and he was also rude and hung up on me claiming the key had not been left
- Nicole (7/5): Friendly host and clean rooms - The room was spotless clean and everything is brand new. The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming. She was telling us how she installed a shared kitchen after buying the place off the previous owner recently, to make the stay more comfortable for her guests, which is a big plus as it allowed us keep our food refrigerated! The location is very close to the ferry, which was perfect for us. There is also a restaurant downstairs, where the check-in was done, and the food smelled delicious! If we take the ferry from Holyhead again, we‘ll be back for sure. We found the value for money not great given that the place isn’t fully finished/ is still being renovated and the facilities in the room are quite basic. Also, the steep staircase would be a problem for anyone with reduced mobility. This did not impact our stay but is important to keep in mind.
- Kenneth (9/5): -
- Chui Wan (5/5): - near to the port, and parking is easy very noisy, especially when there is a pub downstairs, and the room facing to the street is nosiy too
- O' Mahony (9/5): -
- Hunt (6/5): Hosts were very accommodating - There was none Access to room , stairs are a problem
- Serkan (10/5): - Amazing staff and very clean

- Alison (4/5): Potentially great rooms for functional overnight a bit more care and attention needed. - Room was clean and freshly painted. Linen clean and furniture new.
Bathroom was a good spec and newly fitted.
Useful to have access to a kitchen.
Host was friendly. The building needs finishing,
Soundproofing not great. Could hear people coming upstairs and walking around on the floor above. This could be a specification issue ie no insulation in the partitions. Doors didnt seem to be soundproofed. Could put in seals?
Blackout curtains would be useful.
Bed too soft.
Kitchen needs finishing and organising.
Proper bins with lids would help
What about fire risk, if multi occupancy should there be fire doors to the rooms and smoke detectors...? .
- Kyle (1/5): Unsafe, uncomfortable, and poorly managed – I wouldn’t stay here again - Cheaper than others in the area for this date I stayed at The Holyhead Inn for a night, and unfortunately, it was quite a disappointing experience. First off, the place had no signage at all, so it was really hard to even figure out where the hotel was. It turned out to be above an Indian restaurant called Raja’s.
When I arrived, I had to wait quite a while to get my key because the room wasn’t ready. Once I got upstairs, the room was extremely basic, and the bed was really uncomfortable. The entire room felt a bit slanted, which was odd. It was a shared facility, so I had to go downstairs to use a shared bathroom and kitchen, which I didn’t mind too much.
However, the biggest issue was that the key to the main door didn’t work at all. I needed to leave early at 6 a.m., and I couldn’t get out. No one answered the phone the night before or that morning, and I had to actually wake up another guest just to get out of the building. There was no fire escape either, which felt really unsafe. Overall, it was a pretty bad experience, and I wouldn’t recommend staying there.
- John (2/5): Needs finishing off and cleaning properly - The lady who took us up and the young man. So friendly The cleanliness of the beds . Everything looked good when we dropped our bags off . However we went out straight away. On arriving back and getting into bed we seen little curly black hairs and a brown stain on the sheets. We had to lay on the top . The single bed had toenail clippings in. Also we had a little window but it went into another room so I closed it for privacy however the room was so hot .no mattress protector too. Bring your own sleeping bag .The bathroom was not clean too and there was nowhere to hang your towels. We left after one night we did contact the owner but they never got back.
- Pradeeskar (7/5): - Wide rooms Shard bathroom drainage blocked.
- David (7/5): -
- S (1/5): Very poor - There was no mirror,no tv,no lamp I have had to ask for coffee and we ordered a takeaway from them and they asked us not to eat in the room when there is no facilities to b able to eat anywhere.it wasn't Worth 70 pound a night I would say 40 pound a night at a push.i will not b booking them again.
- Jankauskiene (9/5): -
- Jenny (1/5): Extremely unhappy - Nothing Everything the hosts were un communicative and as a result we did not end up getting access to the room and booked another room. The lack of signage also made knowing whether you were even at the property difficult
- Hayley (9/5): - We had a really good night's stay here. Some of the facilities are a bit basic. But was good value for money. We ate in the restaurant. We asked if we could get a Chinese to eat in as me and my mum don't like curry. My husband and daughter had food from the restaurant. They offered to make us a platter of chicken and chips for us which we accepted my 6 Yr old loved it. Explained about my daughter having austim and had trouble with the shared bathroom. They let her used the bathroom from a room that noone was using. Nothing was to much trouble. Please remember the price is cheap you can't expect 5*. But the service was 5*. Their Son even took our bags up. It's was a great stay. Only trouble was the stairs

- Camila (7/5): Great Location and Kind Host - I think the location is really nice because everything is close to the hotel. The best part was the host — she is very kind and attentive. She always checked to make sure everything was okay. For me, it was a great experience.
Another nice surprise was that the hotel offers tea and coffee with milk for guests — that was a lovely touch! The only downside was the bathroom, since there was only one for all the guests. That could be a bit complicated. However, it was very clean, which is really great — so I still recommend the place!
- Sharron (9/5): No difficulties, host was very accommodating and thoughtful - A little noisey due to very central location not connected to the accomodation. I just used my ear plugs also white noise. Id advise to prepare and it's perfect.
- Louise (9/5): Small Property (7 rooms) owned by a lovely family - location is 10 min walking from the train and Ferry so it was excellent for traveling w/o a car. my room had a private bath and a partial view of the port.
The family also owns the Bengali restaurant on the first floor, the food is excellent The place was hard to find as it is undergoing renovation and the signage for the hotel portion is absent, But just look for the restaurant Raja's. See the Image provided.
As with most buildings in Holyhead it is an older building so it is stair access only. Not really an issue but I am spoiled and Prefer access to an elevator but as I said personal preference.
- Lynda (1/5): - Nothing we liked was disgraceful and disgusting. Had to pay again to stay somewhere else and the owner would not give us a refund. He was rude Everything. Booking. Com should not have this place on their's site . This place is not only dirty and smells really b, d it is so dangerous to stay here . Total Appalled by this place . The owners are so rude and would not give us a refund.
- Lynda (1/5): - Nothing. Do not stay in this place absolutely disgraceful on how they can charge money for such a dive. I wouldn't let my dogs sleep here . The sheets on the bed were dirty, and the rooms were damp. The smell was disgusting. It was such a dangerous place to stay with a shared bathroom that didn't even have toilet paper and was really dirty. We had to go and pay again to stay somewhere else . Booking. Com should take this place off their site . So shocking and the expensive of having to pay again for somewhere else to stay. We rang the owner and told him we couldn't stay as the rooms was to damp and nit good for a member of my family as COPD. The owner was rude to us and said he will not give us a refund. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE Everything is absolutely disgraceful and disgusting place. My dogs have a better place to sleep in . Booking. Com please take this down from your site
- Ruud J (8/5): Nice place to stay for a night - The two separate beds were comfortable, there was a small kitchen, we were able to check in late, the room and bathroom were clean. The room was basic: a chair and a place to hang our coats would have been nice
- Graham (1/5): - Location Curry stain on pillow, tv with no channels or anything to watch, shared bathroom not stated in booking
- Philip (1/5): Absolutely rubbish - Nothing The fact that it wasn’t finished to let. Out

- Estevão (4/5): If you choose to stay here, I recommend confirming with the staff that your assigned room is final before leaving your b - The room was spotless, and the location was perfect for exploring the city. I checked in on April 19 and faced significant issues with the organization of my reservation. During my stay, I was moved to a different room three times while I was out exploring the city. The staff called me multiple times asking me to return to my room to collect my belongings and relocate. Since I couldn’t return immediately, they offered a £20 refund if I allowed them to move my items to the new room themselves, so they could make the previous room available for another guest. I agreed to this arrangement, but as of today (May 7, 2024), I have not received the promised refund.
- Yoann (10/5): - Very nice host, perfect place for a cheap night to take the ferry.
Recommend
- Rosie (4/5): -
- Beneventi (1/5): Horrible experience. Would not recommend - Nothing. I was unable to stay at this location after I paid, but this hotel owner would not contact me for the key. I got there and the doors were locked.
I want my money refunded. I think this business is a scam. Please help me get my money back. Everything.
- cornally (1/5): I'd never stay again 😔 - The host was very polite We had no heating for 2 days the most coldest property I've ever stayed. Landlord gave us electric heaters although it helped we still had to wait hours for the heating to come on during the day as the landlord had a business down stairs we had to wait for heating when the business opened at 530pm each day, the stairs was lethal no handrails & the stairs were very steep i fell on them on 2 occasions
- Anamika (5/5): - Bedrooms are enough spacious and apart from bedroom and bathroom we got kichen facility which was good. The heater was not working properly. The place temperature was quite low we actually struggled without heater to survive. And also the toilet seemed to be sharing for other bedrooms as well. Toilet was situated on the corridor area not attached to the bedroom which was quite difficult to use.
- C.-Karl (5/5): -
- Henry (1/5): -
- Rosa Marie (8/5): Fijne plek, goede locatie -
- Owen (9/5): Very good - This was a great stay in a tidy room , very clean, and the bathrooms are all newly done, so would recommend, the staff people are very friendly and helpful, glad it was in a convenient location, made my stay here very easy and comfortable as train station is only a 5 mins walk, just over the bridge
- Nicholas (1/5): Didn't stay. - I told him my wife couldn't climb the steep narrow stairs and there was no bathroom as promised so we would not stay the two days as booked, but I would consider it fair if he would refund my second day. I heard nothing from him but a note saying to call him to discuss it, with no phone number. When I wrote back asking for a phone number I got no reply.
- Juste (1/5): Terrible experience - Nothing I booked a double I got a single telly not working no hot water in shower no kettle for a cup of tea light on all night the switch was somewhere down the stairs a terrible experience I didn't like anything
- Daniel (9/5): - Great place to stay for ferry next morning (or vice versa). Clean and comfortable, helpful owner, decent value.
- Sharon (4/5): Disappointed - Difficult to find. There was no signage on the Inn, only a very small number. The picture didn't assist in locating it. Locals we asked didn't know where it was. As we had no phone access we asked a local person to call for us, & located the property. Bathroom was dirty, shared bath mat expected. Owners personal items in bathroom. Very narrow steps up to a 3rd floor room. I needed assistance to carry my heavy suitcase up. Bedroom floor not cleaned. Very noisy, from pub across the road until 01:00 am. Tea and coffee facilities in shared kitchenette, average.
