• jan (10/5): Wonderful. - Even we arrived late, everything was arranged and no problems to enter the premises. The room are well maintained and will use it again. Thank you management. Unfortunately it was raining, so could not spend time outside. But again we do not say no to rain. The room was nice and warm.
• Kanika (5/5): Good location and nice apartment but horrible bed. - The location was good and the view beautiful. The apartment is clean and on the ground floor, so easily accessible. It was raining when we arrived. The gate is not motorized so we had to open it in the rain. There was a lot of water and mud that accumulated at the gate which made driving up the very steep driveway a problem as the wheels of the car kept spinning in the mud. There was no hot water on the evening that we arrived. We were only able to shower the following morning. The bed was very hard and it felt like you were lying on rocks.

• Kanika (5/5): Very uncomfortable bed, despite the lovely apartment and the stunning view. - The apartment is on the ground floor and easily accessible. There are two double beds so the unit can sleep more than two. It is clean and neat. Communication from the hosts was prompt and very informative. The kitchen is small, which is fine for an overnight stay, but not practical for an extended stay, as there is nowhere to unpack any groceries. There are also no proper cupboards with space to unpack and hang up clothes, just shelves against the wall. The gate is not motorised and needs to be opened and closed by hand. Not very nice when it is raining. The driveway is very steep and slippery. The beds are awful. They are very hard and uncomfortable. You could just as well have slept on the floor. Having driven all day and another day of driving ahead, we would've liked to get a good night's sleep. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I didn't read the reviews before booking and saw afterwards that the beds have been mentioned numerous times. Sad that the hosts haven't taken this to heart. There are not a lot of restaurant options, but this is not the property's fault. The one suggestion no longer exists. We ate at the Forever Resort. There were only three tables, and it took nearly an hour to get our food.

• ABOOBAKER (6/5): winter suite a no no for us - The view , cleanliness owner was in contact with check in details We had the suite upstairs it was big and for winter it is very cold ( summer will be ok ) the air conditioner did not work on hot we did what the owner told us to get it working and we googled to no avail some windows no curtains can see the outside lights so we did not sleep and cold air coming from somewhere we were cold bad experience and our own experience bed was hard on cement why don’t people just leave extra good blankets ( there was a thin blanket extra it did nothing )

• Koen (8/5): - The unit was beautiful and clean and perfect for a one-night stay over. No privacy as people from the neighbouring unit drives and walks past our sliding door when going in or out. You could also hear sound from neighbouring units, even the closing of cupboards.
• Victoria (1/5): - The property is a construction site. It is sad that I vacated my home to get away from a renovation site, yet I paid money for a vacation on a construction site. My room was adjacent to the housekeeping hub. The continual sound of a running laundry machine disturbed the peace I needed while I was trying to rest for the next leg of my journey.

• Jade (4/5): - Amazing view and very clean. Host was very friendly and sent all relevant info well in advance. I stayed in the suite and had the worst night's sleep that I have ever had whilst travelling. As a result I was exhausted the next day which really affected me while driving the rest of the way to Wilderness. The mattress was so hard it was like sleeping on piece of concrete. In addition only 50 percent of the unit has curtains which meant that there were bright street lights shining in throughout the night, keeping me awake.

It has a beautiful view but you have to sit on a garden chair in the driveway to appreciate it. Yhe most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. Everything. Maybe they should finalise construction before renting out rooms. Also, the braai facilities?! It’s a joke.

• Gabi (8/5): Overall, a great spot with a helpful host that with a few tweaks this could be 10/10 - We had a lovely overnight stay at the unit. The views were stunning , the space was clean and well-maintained. The host had good communication at time of booking a d was incredibly helpful when arriving! The only downside for me was that the bed was quite hard, which made it a bit difficult to get a comfortable night’s sleep. That being said my son loved it so maybe my bones are just not as young! A few small suggestions that could make the stay incredible: Electrifying the gate for added convenience and security. Allow a slightly wider turning space when accessing the parking on the right. Add some color to make the room less clinical. (Maybe art, different colour bedding?) The bed in second bedroom space should be moved on the opposite walls, include some side tables so that guests could have access to the plug points for charging devices. Provide long-life milk sachets for coffee (especially for those overnight stays)

Gariep Hotel, Gariep Resort Shops and it was very clean with enough parking, sitting and braai area Great spot for Sun Rise you must open the main gate manually, just off the car which posses safety concerns especially at night the room that was advertised on booking.com was note the room we stayed at, rooms set up must be clearly described with clear pics on Booking.com, we were under the impression that we staying at the room above with Dam view and all, only to find out our room was on ground floor and not facing the dam

• Kobus (7/5): - The room was very clean with a great view over the Gariep dam. Gas stove could not be use. I have opened the isolating valve under the zinc but no gasflow to ignite. The curtain at the sliding door should be altered as it activate the doorlock sensor. You have to leave the curtain open to prevent activation.

Our host kindly moved us at no extra cost. The kitchen area is cramped, I am 1.75 metres and could not reach the toaster.

• Lizandra (7/5): - The room was tidy, neat and clean. The bed was very comfortable! No shaded parking. Main gate does not work and you have to open it yourself, can't lock. Unfinished construction which is a sore eye.  At the back of the room was a locked door and there was a light that was on which shines through the room at night.
