Guest Reviews
- charmaine (8/5): It worked for what we wanted, an overnight stay. - The host was very accommodating and the house was clean and fresh and ready to go. Probably needs a bit of an update.
- Kirby-Anne (7/5): Comfortable beach Shack - Helpful and accommodating host. Property was well equipped with everything we needed!
- Carol (9/5): Perfect for our little get away - The property is pet friendly which is very important to us and it was close to shops, beach and places to eat. The house is old but it is very clean with some quirky/retro touches.
- Wayne (10/5): Great place for getaway to the top of the Fleurieu peninsula! - Great location and comfortable for a weekend getaway No negatives!
- Sally (10/5): We loved it -
- Chiara (10/5): - Great location, very spacious accomodation
- Angela (8/5): Great dog friendly accommodation near the beach - We loved the large enclosed garden with interesting spaces for our Jack Russell to explore.
We enjoyed the extras - bottle of wine and lovely soap. Also loved the 60's retro furniture and ambience. The mornings were cold and we didnt find the heater until we were packing up.
- Andrea (8/5): - It was excellent location , close to the shopping centre and beach The master bedroom bed mattress was smaller than the bed
- Rick (7/5): - nice for a relaxing getaway close to the beach.
Has a homely beach vibe makes it easy to relax. wifi kept dropping out, used phone hotspot instead. blinds for privacy would be nice.
- Reet (10/5): A little paradise - This was my dream vacation house - just a walk away from beaches and a supermarket, quiet in the night, lovely details, terraces around the house to sit and relax.
- Catherine (10/5): - Very comfortable beach house. I loved that it was old fashioned & not at all like a hotel. We had a party to attend nearby so it was great for that. If you are coming for the beach it’s about a 15-18 minute walk I’d say.
The host was very friendly and helpful. Left the a/c on and a bottle of wine.
- Gregory (8/5): -
- Laura (8/5): Perfect - Close to the beach and great opportunity for some down time
- Zara (8/5): -
- Cheryl (7/5): Nice beach house to take the dogs. - Location was great, nice walking distance to the beach. Bonus bottle of wine was a welcome bonus for a tired Mum!
Nice to be able to take our dogs with us on holidays. Xbox didn't have many games. Second bedroom a bit small for 3 kids.
- Naomi (9/5): Amazing stay in a cosy, retro styled home. Close to the beach and main township, highly recommend! - Beautiful house with a retro aesthetic. It felt very homely and the master bedroom bed was extremely comfy. It's in a fantastic location for beach visits and well as access to the main town and amenities. Only criticism was for the very loud air conditioning. We couldn't figure out how to get the ceiling fans going (perhaps just a label on the right switch?) and the units rumble loudly over casual conversation. Not a major deal as they're older units and it's to be expected, wouldn't be an issue at all in milder weather.
- Jacinta (8/5): Pleasant beachy vine - Lovely beachy old school feel. Lots of board games, books etc to make the stay feel like home. I'm sorry to say the iron! A previous guest has burnt something onto the bottom & not mentioned it to the host.

- Amelia (5/5): Great location disapointing property wasn’t as advertised - Location Gardens not maintained or tidy not enough toilet paper or tea towels or paper towel key hide not functional screen door could not lock unable to park car in carport as overgrown garden pictures on website are not reflective of what property looked like
- Ivana (7/5): We had a lovely stay enjoying walking to the beach for our daily swim. - Cute house with plenty of room and close to the beach.
The front veranda area is great. Some items need repairs such as front door screen could not be locked and front door lock would jam when re-opening, curtain rod in bedroom and some cracked tiles. Overgrown trees blocked access to carport. House is still comfortable but just needs some love.
- Andy (9/5): Great stay lovely house we would visist again for sure. Thanks Mandy and Team - Very Tidy house in a quiet location and very dog Friendly = Super clean and tidy.
All facilities worked and TV etc easy to use. Perhaps a little firewood for the Combustion heater for 1 fire but it was warm so we didn't require any this time.
- Hayley (9/5): -
- Geoff (10/5): Good vibes, felt like dropping in at a familiar place. - Nice secure yard, heaps of kitchen facilities, good relaxing area outside. Comfy bed.
- Suzanne (10/5): - Very accommodating, friendly quick to reply via message when I needed the house for an extra night.
Super helpful
- Suzanne (10/5): -
- Matthew (8/5): - Fire place was very good The back sliding door we couldn’t use because kept coming of the door tracks
- Bobby (9/5): Perfect for travelling families with pets and want a safe location for car etc - Perfect property for travelling families with pets, great location, you can park behind gate and close it up, pets had a lovely front enclosed area to spend their time. Fantastic bedding and had the best sleep. Very clean, would love to stay again , thank you for hosting us.
- Jane (10/5): Peaceful serene Energy - It’s simple and serene Na
- Josh (8/5): A well presented and flexible (for kids and animals) short stay accommodation option. - Size and the rooms were clean and well presented. N/a
- Tim (10/5): -
- Scott (8/5): -
- Maxine (3/5): - The property was a 2 bedroom cottage presentation it was clean with well equiped kitchen. The main bedroom was a major issue. The baseof the bed was too big for the mattress which made it differcult to get into. The bed was also very high (abnormally high). I ended up sleeping on the not so comfort lounge.
Replace the main bed and it would be a reasonabke property to stay at.
- Helen and Brian (9/5): - Very clean and comfortable. Quiet location.
- Nicole (8/5): -
- melbournian1950s (8/5): Comfortable. - A very clean, basic and quaint 2 bedroom ‘cottage’. Easy and welcoming communications with host Mandy. Milk, coffee and the bottle of bubbles were a nice touch.

- Lisa (7/5): -
- Kirrily (9/5): A - A great, pet friendly, secure, well equipped property with a lovely combustion heater, wood provided, and an added bonus of a bottle of wine on arrival and coffee/tea provided. Comfy bed and lounge and arm chairs. Great retro items - phones, dining room setting, phone stand. Felt like I had stepped back in history and was staying at my Mum's house. Warm and inviting and fast communication. Loved it. The front door was difficult to open. Lots of jiggling to get the door to unlock. No curtains on the kitchen window and sheer curtain on the sliding door.
- Matt and Annmarie (10/5): -
- Deb (9/5): Cosy cottage where you can relax & enjoy being by the coast -
- Kerry (8/5): -
- Rachelle (10/5): Exceptional - Pet friendly, close to the beach with walking tracks. Secure fencing for the fur baby and a wonderful bottle of wine for our stay. This was the second time we have stayed here and we will return.

- Luke (10/5): Funky and eclectic in place, great location and excellent for pets. - Fantastic and eclectic place. Really clean, comfy beds and great location just a 15 min walk to the beach! Great value for money, really well appointed and even a bottle of wine on arrival. Great size yard for the dog to run around in, awesome 4 night stay!
- Wayne (9/5): chill out - We travelled to SA for Gather round - AFL football- hence accom was at a premium. This property suited us nicely and very relaxing without having nearby other guests. The property is a standalone house, more like an AIRBNB offering.
Well located close to the beach (5 min walk). Beach is quite spectacular with cliff top views.
Services such as supermarket / shops are 10 mins in the other direction.
Good place to relax and chill out Nothing really.
Had to go hunting for a few things such as dish cloth and tea towel.
Bottle of wine on arrival was a nice touch as too chilled water.
- Janet (9/5): Our stay was very pleasant and comfortable a very quiet neighbourhood. - The property was located close to Port Willunga beach which is a dog friendly beach and also close to supermarket.
The property was pet friendly and well appointed with all you need.
- Shayley (9/5): Clean and tidy little beach shack - Great little beach shack - clean and tidy and as described in the listing. Thanks for a great stay
- Matthews (10/5): Loved the stay at Decades! Beautiful spot and very comfortable. - Great location, clean and comfortable. The property remained cool even in the heat wave. The outdoor area was a great place to sit and eat. BBQ was a bit too dirty.
- Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mez (10/5): Exceptional - Dog friendly
Great location
It had everything you needed for a comfortable stay
- Susan (8/5): Very comfortable and clean - The facilities were good, bit of confusion as i went to next door house, she said it happens a lot. She was great about it. It was great for what we needed
- David (5/5): Passable -
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Shimara (7/5): Good - Basic accommodation close to the beach
- Leslie (7/5): Pleasant, clean and comfy. - Quirky retro touches, cleanliness and location. Quite noisy air conditioning in bedroom.
- Ivana (10/5): Fantastic beach house at a beautiful location. - Location and comforts in the holiday home.
- Mel (9/5): A perfect place for a quick retreat, clean and it had everything needed for a relaxing time. Would love to book it again - The accommodation was thoughtfully decorated to represent different decades of beachside holiday trends which was interesting and brought a sense of nostalgia and relaxation. The house was spacious, good sized kitchen, relaxing couches and big TV. Front and backyard seating spaces would be good for families. The bath was very comfortable to soak in, shower was great too. Extremely comfortable mattress in the main bedroom. The facilities for my puppy were very good. The property is a short walk to Port Willunga Beach.
- Deborah (10/5): Wonderful accommodation. - It was a beautiful stay. Thank you very much.
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yelyzaveta (10/5): Birthday Trip - It's a great place in a convenient location, with great vibes. Definitely enjoyed staying there. The original plan was to come here for the Astrophotography workshop, as the bach is perfect for that. But as well it was falling for my hubby's Birthday, so it became a Birthday trip. I enjoyed my workshop in the evening, while he could relax at the property, next day we went for Breakfast to the amazing healthy cafe, had a straw on the beach and had lunch at Star of Greece. Decades was perfect stay for our plans. n/a
- Kartika (7/5): Good -
- Tristan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louis (10/5): Perfect. A lovely home with lots of little special touches and a retro vibe to it. - No breakfast involved. The location was perfect for my purposes. It was close to my extended family whose home was overcrowded. It was also close to the beach and Aldinga shops (I had a car, so just minutes away). Nothing. Could not have been better.
- Craig (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alecia (8/5): Very nice place to stay overnight, would definitely stay there again - The host was very considerate and had a portacot available, the house was very open and inviting upon arrival. There was even a bottle of wine on the bench. Nothing as was only there for one night
- Charles (8/5): Very good -
- Mahalia (8/5): Perfect place for a 'staycation' or comfortable 'home away from home' getaway! - Location was perfect, so close to the beach & whatever else we needed. The house was very homely & inviting & had everything we needed for our stay. We loved it, felt very comfortable & would book it again :) The host was lovely too & very prompt in responding to any messages. N/A - Pretty happy overall.
- Kathy (9/5): Perfect getaway with our dog - Close to the beach. Was nice and tidy , bed was fantastic, able to take our dog. Nice bottle of wine left for us. Good wifi and comfy lounge. House was nice and warm when using the heater. Would definitely book agein Only a couple of things but doesn’t detract from the score. We felt that even though the yard was secure, the gate still had a gap which made us a bit wary about leaving our dog outside without us watching. He is only small and could slip under. Water pressure was a bit slow. Some more information on attractions , shopping, cafe would be helpful. None of this though would stop us from booking again.
- Martine (7/5): Nice - Organized and have everything . Only stayed one night so I couldn’t actually use the house Mm shower and sink on the bathroom
- Jcjohns (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mandy (5/5): Passable - It’s location It was quite tired looking and pricey for the standard

- Glenn (9/5): Superb -
- Ireland (9/5): Superb -
- Connie (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and great location plus pet friendly
- Ruth (10/5): Exceptional - No breakfast provided. Used all the English Breakfast black tea bags.
Colourful bar of soap left marks on basin so only used provided liquid soap.
Couldn’t find any laundry detergent sachets so washing machine not used.
Couldn’t find an egg slice to use in non stick frypan.
Found heater and extra bedding supplies for cold nights/ mornings- thanks.
B
Mattresses and pillows extremely comfortable as is lounge furniture.
Enjoyed the outdoor front area with the glorious roses and bird companions. Nothing to add.
- Zoe (8/5): Very good -
- James (8/5): Very good - Excellent house. Fantastic location. All good.
- Kate (10/5): Fun holiday with the furbaby! - Loved the pet friendly accommodation and so did our big labradoodle Cece. She loved running around on the lawn and playing fetch (which is all enclosed with a tall front fence & gate) We loved the bottle of wine on arrival, and tv with streaming services. Big bathroom with separate toot. & decent sized kitchen. Thank you, we had a wonderful time! Everything was great, nothing to dislike :)
- Christine (9/5): Superb -
- Walford (7/5): Good -
- Carolyn (6/5): An ok place to come back to for a shower and sleep after a day exploring the McLaren Vale - It had everything we needed for a two night stay. Hot water for a shower, clean sheets on the bed. The house was clean and best of all- pet friendly Some may call it quirky, lots of dated, mismatched furnishings. Not really our thing. Lacked that “homely feel”.
Minor things let the property down like a king sized bed base with a queen size mattress on top. Lamps with blown bulbs and no extra toilet paper🤷♀️.
- Luke (7/5): Good accommodation with easy access to beaches and wine regions - The accommodation had a good coffee machine, comfortable lounge and good sized TV. The house was in a great location close to the beach and easy drive to McLaren Vale / Willunga areas. The host was very friendly and provide clear instructions and welcome drink. While there were enough beds provided to accommodate 5 people, there was limited space to roll out the trundle bed in the second bedroom from under the bunk bed or use one of the extra mattresses in either the second bedroom or in the middle of the living spaces.
Minor issue while soap was provided for washing hands in the bathroom, no soap / shower gel provided for the shower.
- Sharon (8/5): Perfect place to stay for the night, close to everything and facilities were clean and tidy - Location, clean, it had everything we needed The decor and furniture could be modernised
- Anita (7/5): Nice holiday house near to beach - Very clean and comfortable. The address was incorrect and caused some inconvenience locating the keys as I was sent to the wrong property. Would’ve been good to know in advance.
- Tishana (10/5): Perfect! - Beautiful quirky place, some really nice touches left by the host, easy walk to the beach! Super comfortable! Nothing! It was perfect!
- Kerrie (8/5): Close to beach. - Close to the beach, we had a comfortable stay for 1 night.
It was a hot day/night and the old aircon did its job.
And a lovely bottle of wine.
Thank you. Nothing.
