Guest Reviews
- JBH742 (8/5): A good place to stay in Thetford - On the whole very good stay.
Rooms were great, food was good. Breakfast excellent.
Easy parking. Easy access off the A11, both north and south bound.
- JPofSpalding (10/5): All round best hotel experience in years - Stayed here on the 25/11/2025.
Receptionist was Gemma, what a diamond. We had a Premier plus room which was perfect for our accessible needs.
It was roomy well laid out and had a few extras which made the experience worth high marks.
What made the stay worth those high marks was Gemma, she was attentive, helpful and could not do enough to make our stay memorable.
We went for a meal deal and was very pleasantly surprised when the food came and was cooked perfectly. So overall I would say this hotel did not disappoint.
Depending on your disability choose the accessible room accordingly. Wet room or low bath available.
Regards John.
- W9065KSdavidm (8/5): A few nights whilst visiting family - You get what you expect from a Premier Inn. A reasonable hotel and not badly priced. Good parking and an excellent breakfast in the pub next door.
- 612rdavies (10/5): Great member of staff - Stayed for one night to attend an event at the Telford Centre. Room was clean neat and tidy and warm.
The main reason for leaving the review is to say a massive thanks to the member of staff Emma Bassett. We had a problem that was threatening to ruin our weekend. We had no local knowledge so were struggling to resolve it. She went way above what would normally be expected of staff and could have easily said "not my problem". She didn't and really helped us to get what we needed so a huge thanks to her.
- Pathfinder809316 (8/5): A good nights stay - The room was good and clean, and the meal and breakfast taken in the restaurant was fine. The only fault we found, was that the reception desk was not covered on several occasions, and when you pushed the buzzer, it had no effect. We were on our way further into Norfolk, so this was ideal. With Premier Inn you know what to expect. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
- thePaul-1981 (2/5): Dirty room - Just stayed here, long queue at check in. Then a long trip to my room and my key didn’t work!!!
Finally in my room, found public hair round the sink and poo stains on the toilet.
This is not good enough.
- Lucy3Guildford (4/5): Another bad experience here - The positive is that the hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms are as expected.
The negative is that yet again I found the reception staff to be rude and obstructive. I had had a similar experience of rudeness previously, but having made a complaint I tried again thinking they would have dealt with it as promised. That wasn't the case.
They overcharged me and insisted that they couldn't do a refund. When I rang central reservations they said that reception staff would and should have processed it.
I'm so tired of battling at this horrible hotel. I won't stay there again.
- Happycamper1050 (8/5): Handy and reasonable hotel - Great location and pub food for a reasonable price. Nice large bed which was very comfy.
There was no lift which made carrying cases up and down the stairs quite tricky.
- Wander28904329901 (10/5): A fantastic one night stay thank you staff - Fantastic service in both hotel and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful being in a wheelchair nothing was too much for them the only problem is now the premier inn chan is starting to cost too much with the price of rooms hurting the credit card apart from that it was fantastic thank you
- 409billh (10/5): A great overnight stay! - I stayed overnight at Premier Inn Thetford and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The Receptionist was so very friendly and helpful and then, later in the evening we came back to ask if we could still have dinner and the Staff were, again, so helpful and sociable. The dinner and breakfast the following morning were just perfect.
The room was clean and very comfortable and had everything I needed. I overlooked the car park but there was no noise.
I really enjoyed my stay, all the Staff were just great and I'm glad I stayed there.

- ChutneyCat (10/5): CJ was fabulous!! Thank you for your super helpful and friendly service. - Thank you CJ for being super helpful and friendly. That’s all unwanted to say and now I am going to have to out outs of …..s to fill up the minimum 200 character space …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
- DCek (2/5): You not welcomed at this Premier Inn - Terrible receptionist, not able to drive up to the hotel and had to haul our luggage several locks to the hotel, no wash cloths provided in bathroom, HAD to ask for a rubber tub mat. Both my wife and I had near falls in the tub. She actually injured her leg getting out of the slipper tub. Will never stay at a Premier Inn again.
- TheBalchinReview (2/5): WARNING! Families avoid this hotel at all costs! - Upon arrival our room was 26.5 degrees celsius, despite having two old noisy fans already running when we entered. By the time we unpacked it was 27 and unbearable.
Our two boys, said that they felt they could not sleep in a room this hot or noisy. Andrew, my husband went to reception where he was told, that nothing could be done, all the rooms were like this.
At 11.45pm, our eldest who suffers with eczema and asthma woke in tears due to being too hot. He needed his inhaler and I decided to take him downstairs where we sat in the lobby to cool down. This was really distressing and upsetting. There was a different receptionist at this point, who explained the same again, nothing could be done.
When we returned to the room, we wandered down the Premier Plus corridor, it felt remarkably cooler.
I decided to take the large duvets out of the sheets and this helped. We used cold flannels and all 4 of us laid naked (not ideal), none of really slept.
In the morning we spoke with the receptionist about our bad night, she again said nothing more could be done. I questioned why the Premier Plus area seemed cooler and despite her just saying there was no air con in the building, she then went on to say Premier Plus rooms had air con. I asked why we could not have been moved, and she said they weren't for families.
We have family in Norfolk and stay regularly with Premier Inn, normally the Norwich West, Showground site and have never experienced anything like this before.
We called Premiers guest relations this morning only to be told this was not covered by the 'Good night guarantee'. This is because the room does not include air conditioning, so the temp of the room is not covered in the guarantee. When we booked we had no choice but to book this room as it was the only room offered to families. This is discriminatory and unfair.
- kimhC5537CE (10/5): Lovely stay - Great room. Clean, comfortable, fluffy white towels and nice and quiet. Great central position to go shopping and sightseeing.
- 61chrisb (2/5): Stuffy hot room made my grandson ill - My son, D in L and grandchildren aged 10 and 7 stayed on Saturday night. My 10 year old grandson suffers badly with excema. The room was so hot it was unbearale and the heat exacerbated my grandsons excema greatly. The windows would only open a fraction. In spite of complaining they were told no other rooms were availablle. They could not fault other aspects of the hotel but the heat was unacceptable No REFUND WAS OFFERED!!!
- GarryB1701 (10/5): Great hotel and perfect location - This is a great Premier inn in a fantastic location. Staff at breakfast, the blonde lady in no uniform (think she was the manager) we're amazing. Worked really hard as it was extremely busy, but they did this with a smile always. Cooked breakfast was great and excellent value for money with the kids eat free offer. Room was clean, with a great view overlooking the lake. Couldn't have asked for a better 2 night stay. We will be here again whenever in the area visiting family.
- charlotte953 (10/5): Brilliantly placed Premier Inn - I had a lovely stay at this Premier Inn. I booked a double room for my young daughter and I, which was very spacious.
The bath was huge which my daughter and I both loved.
The room and bathroom were clean, as were all other areas that we saw in the hotel.
Staff members were always friendly.
I found this hotel perfect for its location in Telford. There was easy access to all amenities - many childrens park including a splash pad about a 2 minute walk away, and then food, cinema and shopping centre right by the hotel.
We got a taxi from the train station and it was only £5 so reasonable to get to via public transport as well.
The only thing to note is if you have accessibility needs, there is no where to be dropped off right by the hotel. Whilst it is only a short walk, I am mindful for some it may not be "only" a short walk.
- whitcop (10/5): A comfortable stay. - We stayed for 2 nights here from Monday to Wednesday. We had reserved a Premier Plus double room and were allocated room 122 which as on the first floor overlooking the car park at the rear of the hotel. The room was large, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The bathroom and shower were also spotless. The A/C worked well while we were sleeping. The staff were all cheerful and friendly. The hotel is located about 100m off the A11 and just under a mile from the centre of town. We had booked full breakfasts for our stay which were served in the attached pub the Warrener. We also had 2 evening meals there. Again the staff were friendly and the food excellent and good value for money.
- T1573ZBhelenc (2/5): Air con not working - Went while there was a heatwave only to get a room with the air con not working, we complained and they said they didn’t have a room to exchange, we asked if they could empty our bins as we had dirty dipers in them they said they would and bring us some clean towels, they never did. We went to complain on the third day and they moved us .. not at all happy… two nights we couldn’t sleep as it was too hot .. whilst they did have empty rooms available
- plumkent (6/5): Everything good except bed - The carpark had plenty of space even though we arrived at 9pm. Lady on reception very welcoming and helpful. We booked the meal deal £26.99 each for 2 course dinner and drink and breakfast the next morning. Food was good and again staff friendly. The room was clean but I gave 3 stars for the bed. I did not sleep as the bed was squeaky and every time i moved it done it. I got up in morning with a bad back as didn't want to keep moving in night as would wake husband.
- GemmaH730 (10/5): Fantastic location being close to everything - Location is excellent for ice rink, restaurants, bars & shops. The room was of a good size, the bed was comfortable which is what you expect from Premier Inn anyway. Staff were friendly. I’ll definitely stay here again
- murphysmistress (8/5): Great hotel, slightly let down by minor issues - Great location, right in the heart of the Telford Park, close to shops, restaurants and parkland. Staff friendly and hotel clean and modern. Air-con minimum temp set to 19 degrees but still very appreciated during the heatwave!
Shower head broken along with soap dispenser in bathroom, fixed promptly once staff notified but I stay in a lot of Premier Inn's and I am starting to feel like a am a professional unpaid snagger for Whitbread!
Breakfast good but coffee machine broken for the two days I stayed...that is poor, as a minimum I would expect that to be a 24hr fix contract or for there to be a back up machine.
Overall a good value stay, just needs that increased attention to detail and it could be epic!
- Hayzeebloke (6/5): Sweat box of a room, terrible sleep. - We stayed here one night on friday 25th August. Receptionist run off her feet as alarms going off for open door somewhere. Car park car registration consul didnt work, not Premier Inns fault, no help at all. Room sweltering hot. Two fans going but not making any difference, no A/C so no way of cooling it down. Room thermostat showed 28 c. Terrible night's sleep, far too hot. Breakfast next morning up to the normal standard, very good. I complained to a different, and certainly more friendly receptionist, who said sorry , but nothing they can do, suggested I complain, then something may get done and A/C might be installed.
- sarahisfab (10/5): Lovely stop over - A great Premier Inn with plenty of parking. Can’t fault the room. Everything as expected in a premier inn. Staff really friendly too.
- Josh1234510 (10/5): Fabulous stay and hotel - One of the best hotels we've stayed in only 2 minutes from dual carriageway and 5 minutes to town.hotel reception friendly and spacious staff helpful with restaurant next door selling amazing food and drink it's well worth getting a meal deal it's great I know it seems expensive £27 each but when u break it down it's a good deal.our room was a twin with comfy beds plenty of room large tv desk and more extra pillows tea coffee facilities and a nice glass mug to have your coffee a fan if its warm and bath in bathroom for a soak after a long drive with fluffy white towels
We will definitely be back one of the best hotels we've stayed in
- markwarren3 (10/5): Very friendly staff and great beds! - Very friendly staff and great beds! The breakfast is also very good indeed! The hotels position is central to all the local attractions
- pamlittler (10/5): Relaxing stay - We have had a great time at Telford the room was comfortable and clean, the hotel is ideally located, parking close at a great price.
Staff helpful and friendly.
Breakfast plentiful and fresh in a lovely setting.
Ideal for families as Telford has a lot to offer.
- danielkH5626UW (8/5): - Received a lovely welcome from CJ, polite, pleasant and welcoming person on the reception desk. Had an unpleasant experience in the dining room with a staff member, but this was hopefully sorted by the member of staff I spoke to. Unfortunate to find out that another guest also had an issue with the same member of staff on the same morning and also reported it. Anyway, back to business, we have stayed here about 7 times now, because of it's great location, cheap car park virtually next door and we got the room requested. Lots to do nearby on foot. Thanks again for another lovely stay bar on bad experience.
- michaelbF2011CZ (10/5): Telford - Excellent location, value for money, easy access to off site carpark and subsidised due to staying at the hotel.
Bars and restaurants close by.
- hitenb2025 (4/5): - My parents who stayed in room 307 didn’t sleep a wink as the air con system was making a loud metallic sound all night. There was no one available from premier inn that evening to deal with it. I’m very disappointed as premier inns usp is the ensuring a good nights sleep.
- tridentlee (10/5): An absolute bargain - Having stayed here before whilst visiting family in the area I took advantage of an email offer that came through earlier in the year, it was for a room with free breakfast for both me and my wife, so for the first time I booked a premier plus room, these rooms a brilliant, so modern, amazing shower, mood lighting, coffee machine, chocolate, air conditioning which was a godsend, it even has a built in night light in the bathroom , both of us were amazed with the room, now for the best bit, because I took advantage of the offer we had a premier plus room for one night ( Sunday) with 2 free breakfasts for the amazing sum of £46, now that's a bargain , it pays to sign up for premier inn deals. and by the way breakfast was delicious as usual, see you again soon premier inn thetford.
- rayr730 (10/5): Hotel closest to Telford shops, cinema, Bowling Alley .Highly recommended - Excellent location, very comfy beds, great breakfast selections. Suggestions;- coming from the car park opposite, difficulty finding hotel entrance( directly opposite the main Ten Pin bowling entrance) & suggest hotel has signs on outside wall directing guests to the small hotel entrance door which only leads to a lift to take one up to the 1st floor reception area. Don't assume there is a lounge for a quiet drink. We had a staff member that opened a glass cupboard to get us drinks, mixed them etc ,accepted payment,& we took them up to our room. The cupboard was in the area allocated for breakfasts, meals etc.
Regarding car parking arrangements- not clear on web site but (a) Southwater car park- a bit difficult to find- Sat Nav essential. You don't need a ticket at the barrier. Drive up to Level 2 which takes you to the street level by hotel, restaurants & entrance to the main Shopping area. (b) When leaving hotel, at reception desk ensure you punch in your car reg. no - so that parking fee is reduced from about £7.50 to £3 only which you then go to the machines at the level 2 exit to punch in car reg again. Can pay using cash or card- no need for a receipt as barriers will allow car exit automatically after payment.
- dc882021 (10/5): A Truly Faultless Stay – Highly Recommended - I stayed at the Thetford Premier Inn for a number of weeks whilst working in the area, and I genuinely couldn’t fault a single aspect of my time here. From the moment I checked in to the day I left, the experience was consistently excellent.
The rooms were spotless, well-maintained, and extremely comfortable. Everything I needed was provided, a proper desk space for evening admin, plenty of power points, a good strong shower, and a bed that genuinely made a difference to my rest after long, physical days. It’s clear the housekeeping team take great pride in their work, the rooms were cleaned to a high standard and always felt welcoming.
But what really set this stay apart was the staff. Every single member of the team, from reception to housekeeping and everyone behind the scenes, was absolutely brilliant. Warm, friendly, and always professional, they created an atmosphere that genuinely felt like a home away from home. No request was ever too much trouble. Whether it was arranging early check-ins, offering local advice, or just a warm “good morning” every day, their customer service was exceptional. You can tell they care about people, not just bookings.
It’s rare to find such consistently high standards in both accommodation and service, especially at such an affordable rate. For anyone staying in the area, whether for work or leisure, I would highly recommend Thetford Premier Inn without hesitation. They made what could have been a tiring and routine work trip into something comfortable, easy, and even enjoyable.
A big thank you to the whole team, your effort does not go unnoticed. I’ll absolutely be booking here again if I’m ever back this way.
- n6hev2018 (10/5): Amazing value !!!!!!! - Stayed for one night whilst visiting Euston Rural Past Times event.
Very competitive price and availability for area.
Room was very spacious and clean.
Meal deal package well worth considering for the price and quality of food.
Breakfast was busy but flowed well.
Would definitely recommend.
- natjones123 (10/5): Fab location - Visited for work last week. A lovely modern premier inn surrounded by lots of restaurants and bars.
Breakfast was lovely and service was great. Everything you need for a one night stay.
All of the team members that I came in contact with were professional and friendly
- andrewwF8964PB (2/5): Avoid like the plague in hot weather - Like many older premier inns this one suffers from a dreadful combination of no air conditioning and windows that only open a couple of inches.
During a recent stay, this meant that the room was unbelievably hot and the only solution that the staff could offer was a fan (see picture of the in room thermostat).
The staff were lovely, the breakfast good but this was amongst the worst nights ever. And don’t think about claiming on the “good night guarantee” - that doesn’t apply to climatic conditions in hotels without aircon!
- 180krystianf (10/5): Amazing stay made by caring staff. - Great pleace to have a good night ;) with a reasonable budget. But what elevates this to another level is an amazing staff. They will really make you feel welcome and will cater to all your needs. Excellent stay, I cannot recommend it more!!!
- juliabS3266EK (8/5): Good recommendation - I enjoyed my stay, which was my second visit. It's very close to the international centre - 5 mins walk. The room was very comfortable and the customer service was good. I only had breakfast as the dinner was not very nice on my first visit. There are many nice restaurants nearby, which is great. I'll definitely stay again.
- sexpot1951 (10/5): Near to everything you need - I have stayed here several times with my daughter and granddaughter.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Rooms are very clean and Comfortable
We did not eat there but the menu was very good.
We come to visit family and this hotel is very near to them.
Thank you to all the staff.
