Guest Reviews
- lewisfC6593NO (10/5): Good stay when working away. - It was a good place whilst working away from home for the week. The staff were courteous and respectful at all times. I would stay here again.
- Safari27322273324 (10/5): Go to Hotel in Borehamwood - We have stayed here many times. The rooms are always clean and ready for us. The staff in particular Juno and Blaise know us now, and are always so helpful . We are very happy with Theo’s hotel
- petermC8467SS (10/5): Best Hotel - Perfect food , drinks and excellent customer service 👌 Jana is amazing and Blaze is friendly support.
P.S. understaffed for full hotel two people running.
- Goody3shoes (10/5): Perfect for us - We have stayed in Borehamwood Premier Inn many times over the past year. The position is perfect for us, the room is always in immaculate condition, and above all the staff are very friendly and obliging. We come to this area to see our family and look after our grandchildren on a regular basis.. and this and will continue to be our “go to” hotel. Thanks to everyone
- soniamI6009LP (10/5): Lovely relaxing stay - Great location, lovely, friendly, welcoming atmosphere, room were very clean and comfortable, excellent value for money, no disturbances for noise. Over all I would definitely stay again and recommend
- Diane_Perlmutte (10/5): Start your day right!!! 🤩 - I live in Borehamwood & have been coming to Premier Inn most days over the course of the last month for breakfast.
I have ME/CFS & struggle with basic daily living tasks so coming here for breakfast ensures I start my day right with a good meal.
It's also a great place to meet people & feel less isolated.
The team here are wonderful... Maria, Jermaine & Frank always greet me with a smile & are very accommodating and Frank makes the best poached eggs!!!! 🤩
A really lovely team spirit here... it's a joy to see.
Breakfast is served weekdays 6.30-10.30am & 7-11am at weekends.
I always go for the unlimited cooked breakfast at £10.99. Great value and a great selection of breakfast options.
- kwasin2023 (10/5): Great Experience - I had a great experience staying at the hotel. The location is great for a quiet business or solo getaways.
The rooms were clean and the service top notch. Staff were also very friendly making the whole experience very pleasant.
- annemariemF7441GC (4/5): did not rest easy - bedroom and corridors smelt musty like stale cigarette smoke.
fire alarm at 1am - unsure how staff were sure all people outside - no obvious sign of head count or checks undertaken
could not get back to sleep after this disruption -
- 443jermainen (10/5): Can’t fault - Business stay easy check in procedures lovely comfy quiet rooms with amazing mattresses and breakfast in the morning was tasty can’t fault.
- Fernvista (2/5): Location, location, location - The only thing this hotel has going for it is its location.
Our room had so few furniture items we thought we’d been burgled.
No table or surfaces to put cases.
The “wardrobe” was a joke.
There weren’t any drawers.
The bed was extremely uncomfortable.
Premier? - we don’t think so.
- susanjW3091MG (8/5): great nights sleep and fab location - lovely quiet room, and very comfy bed. Great location for getting the bus in and out of Edinburgh. Breakfast was first class.
will definitely return :)
- K4150RVemmag (10/5): Premier inn stay - Lovely room, lovely food. Blaise is lovely, very friendly and all round amazing. Check in was quick and efficient. Thank you
- elliegU5888AX (10/5): borehamwood - Excellent service from Blaise at borehamwood, excellent food, really recommend coming here, the rooms are very well kept also
- andyhK8493KC (8/5): Comfy room - Good location plenty of parking friendly staff , room ok few niggles, cold.
No plant Milk who uses baby cow milk in 2025 only two tiny coffee's. rest ok
Breakfast and dinner good friendly staff and informed.
- johnsK2123UJ (10/5): Lovely hotel and staff - Such a lovely hotel and room was clean and up to premier inn standard. Big shout out to Rosina and Jana always happy to help with anything and always with a smile. No matter how busy they are they are always giving their best
- 450zeldab (10/5): Blaze saved the day! - We stayed one night as my mum had to go for surgery at Stanmore the following morning. When we arrived, we were unable to check in as the rooms were not ready. We were helped by Blaze who seemed to be running the whole place alone! He was checking people in, serving in the bar, and in the restaurant (food was great) . Although the hotel was obviously short staffed, Blaze and the other team members were great, very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. He maintained a sense of humour even though he must have been under immense pressure. When we left the following morning at 6.30am , Blaze was still there as he had covered for an ill colleague. He should be paid for three other people as he wore many hats that day! He even wished mum good luck for her surgery. What a guy! Promote him immediately!
Will be back!
Zelda and Penny (my mum)
- U989IZannettew (2/5): Stay somewhere else! - Room looked tired and had a smell.
Female staff were miserable, especially the one covering reception.
Breakfast was chaotic.
Food was not regularly topped up. There was a queue of us waiting for hot food. We could hear shouting and arguing coming from the kitchen.
I asked for pastries to be replenished, didn't happen.
A lady had been waiting 10 minutes for clean mugs. I asked again, took a long time for them to come out.
Lots of people asking for well cooked bacon and sausage as that in dishes was barely cooked. The cook surely should have realised what was wrong and saved the hassle of people complaining!
Worst Premier Inn I've stayed at.
- Getaway49014819417 (6/5): Tired and unclean hotel. Friendly staff. - I had 2 rooms booked and arrived just after 3pm. Neither of the rooms had been hoovered. the common areas had clearly not been hoovered that day either.
Thanks to Christine at reception for hoovering them. We had to moved as the sink plug was jammed. (That room had not been hoovered either).
Went to bed and noticed an accumulation of dust hanging from the ceiling and on the wall. Its a shame housekeeping has let down the hotel as the staff in particular Christine and James went above and beyond helping my mum when she thought she had lost her bank card. If it hadn’t been for the friendly staff I would have given 2 stars.
- Sandracmacl (2/5): Hotel fine Bar and Restaurant dirty - Hotel fine, standard you would expect from Premier Inn. Good location, excellent for Tram. Bar and restaurant awful. Stayed for long weekend and cleanliness of bar and restaurant not good. Same Food debris on floors under tables all weekend. Had been a roof issue debris from roof on floor for entire stay and a bed sheet hung up to disguise it! Chose not to eat there our first night when saw some of the food being served. Breakfast pretty poor quality less of a selection than I’ve experienced at previous Premier Inns. Can recommend Starbank Inn nearby for lunch or dinner.
- jilly5430 (4/5): Don't go! - The room was fine though tired.
The staff were obviously not happy in their jobs, rarely saw a smile.
The breakfast.....well the bacon was barely cooked but the fact that eggs, beans, sausage and bacon totally ran out at one stage resulting in several people queuing for more than 5 minutes waiting for them to be topped up. While waiting we could hear the staff arguing and shouting in the kitchen!
Then there were no clean mugs, also resulting in a long wait.
My tea pot was obviously not washed properly previously as the was an old teabag label stuck inside the spout!!
Needless to say we will not be staying here again
- Trailadvisor (4/5): Poor breakfast service. - Great location for getting into Edinburgh. Refurbished rooms clean and tidy and at value for money prices. Superb sleep in comfortable bed.
Checked in on their app but still had to go through the process on arrival so don’t see the point.
Entering my details outside on a cold, wet and wintry day to pay for parking is not a great way to start my stay. Maybe locate machine indoors?
Breakfast had empty hot food trays (no black pudding or fried eggs) and when I mentioned it I was made to feel it was my fault. No supervision and breakfast staff have a couldn’t care less attitude. Very poor customer service.
- Z4282KQjohnm (6/5): Not so Premier. - Stayed here on 1st November for one night. We were going to a birthday party, so I booked the meal deal, the evening meal was ok, as long as you like chips, but it was passable. Regretfully, the same cannot be said for breakfast, one of the main reasons for using Premier Inn is the eggs your way policy. So I asked for 2 poached eggs to be told they didn't have enough. Enough what I don't know. I went to the servery and got my breakfast, which was abysmal, the only item lukewarm was sausages, and the mushrooms were so cold they could have been straight from the fridge.
I emailed customer service, to get the response "sorry you didn't enjoy your breakfast, hope you will stay with us again. GUESS WHAT.
- alanrJ2060YQ (8/5): Most satisfactory stay - Arrived after midnight to find very friendly, helpful staff member; room was clean, (if dated with few carpet stains etc); quiet even though at the front; quite an old looking a/c switch, but it seemed to work; plenty towels; extra pillows; bed was really comfortable, had good sleep; high side to bath for the over bath shower which was awkward for my wife, but there was plenty hot water; poor coffee tea selection (minor issue probably not topped up and I could have asked no doubt?).
- L5710UNmaryamm (10/5): Feedback for Blaise - During my recent stay, I was truly impressed by Blaise’s kindness and helpful attitude. He consistently went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect and even remembered my preferences from previous days, which made my experience feel personal and welcoming.
His positive energy and professionalism added such a lovely touch to my stay — thank you, Blaise, for your outstanding service!
- 485shahrzadh (10/5): Thank you Sharon - We stayed at the Premier Inn Edinburgh Leith Waterfront Hotel. It had incredibly beautiful views. The hotel was clean and quiet, and the staff were very friendly — especially Sharon, who was helpful and kind 🥰. If I come back, I’ll definitely choose this hotel again.
- marymK5723FN (10/5): It was just an all round pleasurable experience - Great value great service great experience. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Blaise was a shining light of the hotel. He brought friendliness warmth and a sense of fun to his role in the hotel.(We enjoyed his helicopter rides!!) Like Arnold Swartzenager (we will be back).
- Seaside39779188375 (10/5): Great stay - Family fun out in central London.. stayed Elstree premier inn. The staff were excellent, breakfast, dinner was lovely. Good service all..
- J9459QPpetern (10/5): I keep coming back - I always stop at South Queensferry when travelling to Aberdeen, it's a very handy halfway point.
I did prefer it when the old bridge was the one to use but at least the new bridge isn't too far away.
My only complaint would be is the amount of coffee etc in the room, 3 coffee sachets for 2 people and no decaff option, a bit tight.
- 851bernadettet (8/5): Overnight stay - Premier inn in good location and close to public transport. Rooms clean and warm.
Breakfast in the Brewers Fayre was poor and the restaurant needed a good clean and dusted.
- Jodieness93 (10/5): Premier Plus - Booked premier inn plus with a view and wow what a view we got. Right on the waterfront and away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Tram is a 10min walk from the Newhaven stop and there is also a bus stop directly opposite the hotel that will take you to the main heart of the city.
- jodU4599HV (10/5): very friendly and helpful - Katrina on the front desk went above and beyond to help us. We were very pleased with our stay and would return and recommend.
- 635DanielM (4/5): Wouldnt recommened, due to service and cleanliness - Stayed for 3 nights st the end of october. On arrival the room wasnt prepared correctly as the childs bed had no bedding. Enquired at the desk and around 2hours later somebody turned up with a pack and said they would sort this when we left for tea. The room itself wasnt very clean either, dusty and still had dirt marks and cup rings on the table. We enquirrd about a plug for the bath but had no joy getting one. We walked past the same piece of rubbish in the corridor for the duration of our stay.
There was a fire alarm at 6am, we was left outside in the freezing cold without and information or updates. After around 20 mins and the alarm being off for 5 mins, i went inside to ask. I told them there was around 20 people still outside cold and without any information. They saod yeah its all fine you can come back in. Quite poor service in my opinion.
The breakfast area was aagin unclean, the plates could do with washing better also. I found hair in the food, includong in the closed pot of tomatoes on the hot buffet.
- laurensC2513WK (2/5): Poor standard of cleanliness - First room we were given was obviously not cleaned properly or at all. The bed was not made correctly and the bathroom was visibly used and dirty. The second room was an accessible room on the 1st floor. At first the lady at the front desk said they had no other rooms but she managed to find this one. We went in and this wasn’t much better. We took 17 hairs off the bedding and there were stains on the bedding too. The bathroom was also grotty but cleaner than the last one. There was black mould all around the shower head and the hand soap dispenser. Oh and over the carpet were bits that looked like mouse poo. We will definitely never stay here again. Which is sad as we usually find premier inns to have better standard than this.
- GrandTour460048 (10/5): Excellent service - Great hotel, location is good. Service by Blaise was exceptional he went above and beyond and was super helpful and friendly
- Q762LBmarkh (10/5): Lovely stay - We had a lovely break at Edinburgh. Our room was lovely, comfortable and quiet. Very good sleep and nice food from the restaurant both breakfast and dinner. The tram was easy and efficient at a reasonable price.
- Maharg2255 (6/5): Everythings not Premier, good night sleep not guaranteed! - Room 202 was okay, however it does not have a conventional window. Rather it has a Velux / roof window.
This caused some concerns. To open it I had to stand on a chair and then on the table to reach the opening latch.
Likewise to close the blind I had to do the very same. I'm not short (5ft 10) but this I feel was an unsafe practice.
Also the blind did not close correctly, it sagged out of the frame and also failed to stay shut.
It was mentioned to a member of the team on the day, but nothing could be done. We also mentioned it on checking out and was told 'thats a shame'
If I was to stay again then I would ask for another room.
- 50JayneS (6/5): Comfy room - Entered reception , two people behind counter , neither said hello ,as were on their computers . After a short while one did say I’ll be with you in a minute .
Once dealing with our booking , the other lady started to question her about her days off - I thought this wasn’t very professional - she was busy with our booking/ meal deal.
Rooms very comfy and clean .
Next morning when a refill toilet roll was needed I had to wait a while - 4 mins maybe and pressed reception button twice before anyone came - maybe a staff shortage and not the staffs fault ?
- Passport62464513941 (8/5): Premier Queensferry stay. - The hotel is in a prime location for my visit. 15 mins walk down to the banks of the Firth of Forth. And a few minutes from the Dual carriageway.
The Brewers Fayre next door was very comfortable & and very good tasty meals i enjoyed in a quiet surrounding.
Also there is an M&S shop and petrol station 2 minutes walk and a Macdonalds restaurant in between.
- Carperdiem (8/5): Ok hotel option - Our room was fine, although it was a long, long way away from check-in and entry to the building. The hotel itself is very near Leith waterfront shops, which includes a great fish and chip shop plus some other good restaurants and an ok local pub. It's also very close to local buses and trams, so it's a reasonable, cost-effective option for Edinborough given the prices in UK. It's at least 25 minutes walk to the attractive area of Leith itself, which is worth the walk.
- 968johnw (10/5): Premier Inn - Gold Standard - We have stayed at Premier Inns as we generally receive a good standard of service which lives up to expectations. This Premier Inn was one of the best with exceptional customer service where nothing was too much trouble. Great room, clean, modern and exactly as we would have hoped for.
- kickinaboot (8/5): Good - Good value for money in general. Room could’ve been doing with aircon and sleep was disturbed as the hotel is quite noisy but the family room was a good size and if you’re not sensitive to the noise you’ll be fine. As with all Premier Inns, it’s clean, staff are helpful and the breakfast is good value in these days of everything costing a fortune. Plenty of parking but is £5 for the night, which isn’t bad for the location.
- C0c0andc0 (10/5): Gluten Free Gold - I stayed with a family group, all adults. Two of us need gluten free. The restaurant cooked our hot breakfast separate from the buffet. It is so rare to find a reasonably priced hotel restaurant that understands cross contamination of gluten. I felt they took real care, so much better than my usual experience when I am offered a slice of gluten free bread to toast in the shared toaster and a buffet. The breakfast was delicious. The restaurant staff were charming, especially the chap and lady (who he, jesting, described as his sister) running the restaurant, they were lovely. Thank you, you made my stay special!
- valw586 (4/5): Cold and disappointing for the amount of money I paid. Never again. - I had to ask for the TV to be connected. I tried to get some heat in my room but failed. Had to go downstairs again for help - by this time feeling very cold and disappointed. Was provided with a portable electric heater. Bathroom was freezing! At 84 years old - not a pleasant stay!!
- 163mrst (10/5): Amazing stay - I will give this the W0W
factor
Room very clean
All staff very accommodating and friendly
I like the system with the Tea coffee sugar and milk it was all available at the reception
Wish I could of stayed a bit longer
Mrs T
- matt2612 (8/5): Pillows were …. - …very hard! Room was clean and adequate for our one night stay. Brewers Fayre next door provided breakfast and dinner. Staff were very friendly.
- Scenic60404291018 (10/5): Thanks James ☺️ - I visited south queensferry for a friends wedding. I checked in late on the Sunday after a delay meant a missed connection so had dinner (and then breakfast the following morning) in the hotel. Having a dairy intolerance can sometimes make you feel a bit of a pain in the bum, and travelling solo can feel a bit awkward, but not with James. I was so well looked after! Thank you James for all the extra care and the friendly chatter, I felt relaxed and safe straight away. Shout out aswell for Ann at breakfast, and the blonde lady on reception (I missed your name) who were equally as welcoming and accommodating.
- rolf Jostein (10/5): Mye for pengene - Bra rom utmerket service. Mye for pengene
- 346louised (8/5): 3 nights stay - Good location, but the bed and pillows were not as good as other Premier inns znd we stay at them regularly all over the country. Room was clean and warm we didn't have breakfast because the Brewers Fayre next door was vile. Reception staff very friendly and accommodating.
- S2197BUdavidc (4/5): Scout your room out before arrival - Reception staff very friendly. First room had a missing latch on the dorma window that had been replaced with a cup hook. I presume the cup hook was for the broken blind to latch onto when you pulled it down at night!!! We brought it to receptions attention and were moved to room 29. Avoid at all costs. Right on top of entrance/exit 2 which is also labeled a fire exit. Clashing from early morning to late at night. We'd already unpacked and decided to sleep on it but we're woken by an insomniac with lead slippers pacing around. Reception told us there were no more rooms available and that they could see about moving us to another hotel. Can't fault the staff. They were just doing their job but looking on the reviews after our visit, the first room had been highlighted with the window and blind two weeks previously. I'm presuming Henny Lenry hasn't had the pleasure of staying here.
- Tin Kin (10/5): - Excellent restaurant
- FarAway52961167426 (2/5): A tired rundown hotel - It was really dirty, tired, scruffy as we drove up to it. Got into reception and receptionist Sandra said Trip.com had not paid them so technically she couldn’t book me in, so after lengthy calls to Trip.com she agreed to let us book in and I have to say she turned out to be a gem. Next the room we had been assigned the bathroom was dirty needed some deep cleaning which was dreadful as it was a room normally used for disabled, bed was a lot lower to ground etc. the carpets all needed a good clean both in our room and all the hallways, restaurant etc. if you went to resteraunt which we did you had to go past all the smokers outside door of reception & restaurant it was dreadful. They ran out of food both nights we ate there, The saving grace was Sandra in reception and manager of restaurant Francesca who went over and above to be helpful.
- john (10/5): - Affordable comfortable bed
- F8355ZXstephenm (4/5): Sadly a poor experience - We had used this hotel on a previous occasion very satisfactorily. The location is very good and interesting. However, on this occasion - possibly due to the fact that the hotel was VERY busy over that weekend, it was not satisfactory. The level of cleanliness was below par. The food at breakfast was also below par.
As ever, the WiFi provided was dreadful! In this day and age that level of internet access is not acceptable.
- lei11 (6/5): Stay spoilt by parking charges. - Nice hotel but parking is a rip off. They say it’s £5 for 24 hours but we arrived 3pm Monday, left 10 am Wednesday and were charged £15. £5 for each day. You then get charged 20 p for the receipt for the parking.
Last time we came here parking was free.
- Simondix49 (10/5): A good place to stay in Edinburgh - Excellent all round experience. Lovely walks by the waters edge. Good pub fare At Brewers Fayre, part of the complex. Discount available if you follow the QR code on the menu. The only downside is the requirement to pay £5 per day for parking, everything else was excellent
- BarbaraRiekwel (8/5): Pleasant stay - I was a bit concerned when reading the reviews but we only wanted a bed for a night before our flight and Premier Inn is usually our first choice due to the locations and we know what to expect.
Room was large, clean and so was the bathroom (bath and shower). We were on the first floor and could see the bridges. Car park does get busy and it can get a bit of a squeeze but when we arrived there was still plenty of space. Friendly staff, so it was an overall pleasant stay for us.
- J. (8/5): - We stayed just for the night before flying home. Close to a quaint little town (walkable)
- tandcpaine (4/5): Poor value - Very poor value for money: minimal tea facilities, confusing shower system (no instructions), over sensitive fire alarm (false alarm at midnight), room charge far too high.
All a pity, as we have found other PIs very good.
- 79grantr (6/5): Comfortable stay but let down by same old internet issues - Comfortable stay, but even the premium WiFi was throttled to 2010 speeds. When are premier in going to address this problem and provide free high speed internet as standard like every other hotel chain in the world.
- juliem303 (10/5): thank you Christina - we arrived very late due to very late flight to Edinburgh from Portugal. I had phoned head office to let them know .We where meet by a lovely lady call Christina who was on night reception she gave us all the information we needed about parking and hotel room and check out . She had been informed that we would be later than first thought.
- jonteepierre (6/5): A roof over our heads - but wouldn't choose again. - This is a tired Premier Inn - less Premier and more second division. To compete against the EASY style Hotels it needs to up its game. £200 for the night was expensive. The car park, however, is large and good value at £5 and the breakfast and the neighbouring and associated Brewers Fayre was of the usual high quality. Having checked in online - both check in machines were out of order - so it had to be done manually. The "Exceptional" wifi cost extra but was unobtainable and only had one bar in our attic room - so we used our 4G phones instead and the velux window blind was held in place with a small cup hook as the mechanism had broken - while the sheets although washed were stained. Had it been £120 a night I would have shrugged and let these things go...
- York Lin (10/5): - Very good breakfast
- Scenic792728 (10/5): Wedding anniversary 20 years - We came and stayed for 3 nights at Leith very nice, the staff were very friendly and helpful we were staying for our anniversary
- nimik2024 (6/5): Early check-in not early - We stayed at the Leith Waterfront Premier Inn with an early check-in option, however this was not honoured and we still await a refund. The Brewer's Fayre restaurant could do with an overhaul as we noted the carpet was full of the previous night's dinner/crumbs on the carpet and seats! In addition Premier Inn could do well from investing in a 'Henry' hoover as the carpet in the bedroom was very dusty and smelled musty!
However, the parking facility was good but we didn't have to pay for parking at this hotel before but did this time!
Location wise the hotel was perfect and the nearby harbour restaurant fish and chips were to die for! Yum!! :)
- BERNA (2/5): - Good for disabled people and guests with carsa
- Jose Luis (6/5): - Sin señalizar entrada correctamente. Recepcionista muy apática
- Nicola (6/5): - Letti troppo piccolo e personale non sempre cordiale e disponibile ad aiutare chi parla poco inglese
- Jaylene (4/5): - Check in and check out were easy processes. Appreciate that they offer family rooms, though they look nothing like advertised. Room price was the highest I have ever paid for a night, and the room was likely the filthiest and most run down. Thankfully it was for one night only, with a morning flight. The bedding was clean, but there was a filthy, stained chair and carpets that had not been properly vacuumed/cleaned...shampoo crud in the corner of the tub, some sort of crud on the wall under the desk, stains on the bathroom wall...broken lampshade. I informed the front desk staff member and she offered no help. She was sitting with an opened package of snacks. There was an apology when I raised the issue with new staff in the morning, and I was told that the issue had been noted.
We stayed at another Premiere Inn at Oxford, and the room was refurbished and clean. This property in South Queensferry needs attention...or at least room 114 does. I will say we had a good experience at Brewer's Fayre. The food was good, and service as well. But based on the state of our room, I would not recommend this hotel.
- Jitka (8/5): - Hotel is well located near bus stop where it is possible to take direct bus to Edinburgh. The room was ok but carpet little bit dirty. The bed very comfortable. Breakfast buffet very good.
- Valerie (6/5): - It was a hot night, no ac and the windows had to be opened. People outside are quite loud and made it hard to fall asleep. For a non Refundable stay and $300 a night I would have like ac in the very least.
- Craig (10/5): Nice place - We stayed here due to the proximity to the airport. Lucky to have a nice walk to the bridges and Queensferry.
- David (8/5): - Very poor breakfast. Helpful staff. Outdated hotel.
