Guest Reviews
- Wanderer61771583349 (10/5): Best stay - What a lovely stay, the staff were so friendly and helpful they made me feel at ease. Probably the best Premier Inn staff I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with
They were having a refurbishment at the time, you could not tell work was going ok. The site manager for Novus was very nice and polite
New rooms look amazing I’ll definitely stay again, very clean and stylish
10/10
- Balesy1974 (8/5): Premier Inn, Dalkeith - A business/work weekend away with the partner, we were both doing VIP/Green Room security at a couple of darts events in Scotland and based ourselves at The Premier Inn, Dalkeith, Edinburgh.
A double bedroom booked, we had room 21 and a couple of unlimited breakfasts.
Hotel was ok, a typical Premier Inn, customer service pleasant and helpful, room clean and comfortable albeit a tad chilly, the en-suite fine.
Breakfast at the restaurant was good, give your name and room number and your unlimited breakfast is cooked to specification, all in all a steady good, happy enough to recommend.
- Voyager15627950334 (6/5): Needs more work - Hotel scheduled for iminent refurb....it needs it. Blinking lights evident lots of areas. 1 key given which made transit in and out more difficult.
Food OK but no better. Appears packaged for the limit menu scope currently.
Single sheet toilet paper.....a bit like a motorway service station! Time to upgrade
- Getaway49014819417 (8/5): Great transport links into the City - I’ve stayed here a few times and it’s worth paying the extra from the plus rooms. They now charge for parking which used to be free but 4.50 for 24 hours is much cheaper than parking in the city. It’s a 9 min train journey into the city from right outside the door of the hotel, or you have a choice of the tram or bus.
If you’re not bothered about a view I would definitely stay here for a city break.
- Passport650834 (8/5): A lovely friendly and clean hotel - A lovely friendly hotel, staff are helpful and the hotel and room were clean. Could have done with more tea and sugar in the room and some biscuits.
- Allanh601 (10/5): Ideal standard for the price and location - Fresh looking hotel. Good standard. Room was clean warm. Bed was comfortable. Tea & coffee supplied. Bathroom clean and fresh. Friendly staff welcome you. Checking in can be at the screen or at the reception desk.
Never ate at the hotel this time but the Costa is attached.
- Roving13193179966 (10/5): Well done Sandra, at Edinburgh Park Premier Inn - My wife and I have just returned from two 1-night stays at this hotel and found it brilliant.
We've stayed a few times at the Edinburgh Premier Inn Hub hotel at Haymarket, which was great, but we fancied a little more room this time, so opted for Edinburgh Park P.I.
I had made a bit of a mix-up with regards my two bookings, but Sandra, on reception, sorted everything out and was most helpful. We saw her again when we returned for our second visit and she even remembered our names. She is a credit to the Premier Inn brand.
The hotel is easy to get to .. bus, train and tram stops are all nearby (less than 50m) and there's even a large retail park less than 100m away.
We shall certainly return to this hotel in the future
- mikwizzy (4/5): No reason to go back - Used to use Premier Inn a lot but haven't for a while
Needed and overnight stay.
On the positive, room was a reasonable size, clean, bright, warm
Staff were friendly
But ...
extra charge for parking - this isn't a city centre hotel
Were told that restaurant was fully booked at our preferred time - it wasn't
TV was very difficult to control - not sure if this was the handset or the TV
"Hot" water was lukewarm
Old fashioned shower over bath - needs updating for safety
Meal menu was very poor - very limited choices especially for veggies. Bowl of nachos to share were lukewarm; slopped over with a minimal salsa, overloaded with jalapenos
Disappointed and will book elsewhere next time
- 942ambera (10/5): Great stay - Great stay at this premier in .
Had breakfast at the restaurant and Josh the manager was very accommodating and friendly. Gave her eat service.
Thanks again
- Henri98203 (10/5): Great stay near Edinburgh airport - Premier Inn Edinburgh Park is just minutes from the Edinburgh airport, and I had a very early morning flight out. Turns out it was easy to get into town on the train (15 min.) and tram, both of which are right next to the hotel. Room was super clean, well serviced. Had everything I needed. Hotel and bar was hopping in the evening. Staff was friendly. Mini fridge was a nice touch, super market (Aldi) is across the street. It was a great stay.
- Alison36 (8/5): Another good stay - Positives - Friendly staff, warm welcome, comfortable bed, large room with lovely view, clean fluffy towels, great shower. Brewster Fayre right next door with excellent food and drinks.
Negatives - cleanliness not as high as usual, but acceptable enough, room was a bit tired looking.
If transport needed, there is a bus stop 5 minutes walk away if you turn right, alternatively, there’s a free phone for Premier Taxis in the reception area. Probably best off booking in advance as it’s one fella, very friendly and reasonably priced. Note - Uber don’t pick up from there but will drop off
- Halcombe7 (10/5): Ideal location for me - Location was ideal for me, just across the road from Edinburgh Park railway station. This was my first visit to a Premier Inn in years and I was unfamiliar with the QR check-in process. However, two members of staff offered to help immediately and made the process very simple. I'll know next time! My room was on the ground floor facing the car park, but very quiet. Room temperature was controllable easily. The en suite facilities were good, with a large shower. The bed was comfortable and the pillow ideal for me. Check-out was as easy as it gets, just dropping the room card in a box. I'd definitely use this hotel again.
- DGG1988 (2/5): Poor Sleep - Was going well until 21:30 when upstairs came into their room. On and off all night stamping on the floor. Have no idea why grown adults would spend hours jumping and stamping! Finally stopped at about 0400. In the night I went to reception twice to complain but they could do nothing as they have to witness it. Spoke to manager in the morning and advised to speak to guest services on the phone as they can’t deal with complaints in house anymore. Luckily guest services apologised and offered a full refund. Would never stay here again. Breakfast not great either compared to other Premier Inn ones we have had.
- Flyer53120237071 (6/5): Dalkieth premiere inn good and bad. - The hotel facilities were fine and reasonably priced for a fairly good bedroom, however the bar is appalling, i paid £4.90 for a 330ml bottle of beer, (never again) and the evening food although palatable was short on chips, i got about 8 chips, not really a portion.
- Trip801785 (2/5): Absolutely awful. - The quick check in machine doesn't work. Book a table for dinner only to be told it will actually not be available, in my mind im fine with that, a few refreshments eases the pain . . . . Nope, pretty much ignored by the bar staff and actually took another guest to say that i was next.
I enjoy Premier Inn hospitality generally which is why i use the Premier Inn at Edinburgh Park.
Currently wandering across the rail line to enjoy KFC.
Pretty sure they will feed me on time.
- jandgstephenson (6/5): You need more staff in the restaurant and a shef that can cook - Nothing the two day was a total disaster from the time we when for the evening meal on the Friday to the breakfast on the Sunday. We will start with the check-in which was good then we went for hour evening meal which costs £10.99 each the chicken was not very hot and the pasta was about £3 worth the waiter was run off his feet. Saturday morning breakfast one waiter on his own not a good idea. Sunday morning breakfast one young lady on her own no bread no plates no hot water. The breakfast itself was not cooked properly the ashbrouns inedible pork sausages not cooked a lot of trouble in the restaurant. Breakfast was £10.99 each the chef has no idea what he or she was doing. More staff needed as soon as possible.
HOPE I GET A REPLY FROM PREMIER INN
- Paul_C9701 (4/5): Disappointed and would not return - One of the worst stays in a Premier Inn.
Lack of car parking.
Room temp was on 28 deg and the heater was on full blast. Window was very small with not much air circulations.
Ordered a family room, not enough towels.
No cold setting on the shower only hot or hot.
Would not stay here again.
- Rosedust2013 (8/5): Would recommend - I stayed the night recently when I was travelling by plane the next day. Easy to get to from Edinburgh airport and not too far from city centre.
The room was fine. I was a bit apprehensive about the window not opening and relying on air con but it did seem to work.
The bathroom was clean, everything seemed new.
I left something behind in the room and while it took a bit of investigating to find an email I did eventually find one, they were helpful and they kindly posted my item to me in a prepaid envelope.
- twistedsister61 (2/5): The worst Premier Inn we've stayed in. Not recommended - We've used Premier Inn many times over the years, for single night visits, because we've previously enjoyed a clean comfortable room and they're convenient. Dalkeith was absolutely the worst Premier Inn we've stayed in. The bathroom was dirty - hairball in the plug hole of the bath, hair in the basin, dirty hand marks on the door frame, mildew around the bath and pipes. Rotting skirtings. The on-site catering establishment has such poor reviews, we had to go to the nearest town for breakfast and dinner. It wasn't at all appealing.
- Luc (10/5): - L’hôtel est dans un parc technologique tranquille les week-ends
Accès facile au tram pour l’aéroport ou le centre ville Edinburgh
- faisalbX8631ST (2/5): Disappointing - Below standard experience so far. Rooms are ok but not great . Staff to check in was friendly and welcoming but restaurant was not impressive at all with only one member of staff and everything available in minimal quantity for breakfast .
The worst is no availability of phone signals , internet provided free doesn’t do even basic browsing . I am currently staying in the place with my kids and they are causing a lot of stress as their iPads have no usable internet .
I checked with reception only to be told that I can get ultimate internet to do basic things with 5£ per day for one device only so with my family I need to pay 80£ for 4 days for basic internet . This place has no phone signals . I believe this is blackmailing and I have refused to buy internet . I will make sure whoever I know doesn’t book into this place
- Janel (10/5): - Celiac safe and easily accessible for transportation!
- Christine (10/5): - Close to shopping and train service
- Kelly (10/5): - Loved everything abput this place, except the lack of staff presences. However, when they were present, they were kind and very helpful.
- Zenon (10/5): Comfortable Rooms and Delicious Breakfast Awaits - On our Scotland tour we stayed at 3 different Premier Inn locations. The staff at all 3 were kind and pleasant to deal with. 5 stars for the gentleman who checked us in at Edinburgh Park. 5 stars for Helen in the dining room at Edinburgh Waverly City Centre. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast at all 3 locations as well. The menu/ offerings we're identical at each stop.
- Laurie (10/5): - The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. The best part it’s next to the tram. Edinburgh park station is right across the street. There is a breakfast you can buy at check in but we didn’t feel it was worth the money. No shopping nearby but the tram can take you to any of the areas near shopping.
- laurenwU9040EP (4/5): Basic hotel and poor customer service - Overall basic communal areas and needs an update. The room is very basic and well worn. Breakfast cost £23.98 for 2 people for breakfast with very limited and poor quality options. I asked if they had any other options other than instant decaff coffee. The staff member was very rude and defensive then proceeded to talk about my question to other staff members in a unpleasant way when i walked away to get juice. The whole breakfast experience was very uncomfortable and underwhelming. I spoke to the staff on the reception, to which she only offered to speak to the staff member. I had to push to get a refund as i felt very uncomfortable, and treated poorly by the staff members at breakfast. The location is great for getting into Edinburgh on the train or tram. I would not recommend the hotel other than a place to sleep. There's great places to eat and drink close by.
- KAZIBEAR (8/5): Excellent customer service - Stayed for a couple of nights for business. Room clean, breakfast and service was fab. WiFi connection was poor however staff helped us to connect in another area. Customer service from the wonderful Leigh was outstanding. Friendly and very helpful with additional wee touches for myself and my colleague to make our stay the best.
- Julie (10/5): - Great location right next to the tram stop which runs between the city and the airport. Our room was very comfortable, the restaurant on site was good but you do need to make a reservation!
- Maria (8/5): Bra hotell - Bra rum, osköna kuddar. Får inte checka in en minut för tidigt. Standard hotell, fyller sitt syfte.
- Dreamer822462 (8/5): Great hotel - Great hotel great staff great location, I only had i little problem with the shower drain as it was blocked and the water overflowed onto the carpet but the staff fixed the problem within an hour with lots of apologies witch was appreciated but no need , with be going back again and again .
- Captain_Soggy_Beard (2/5): It was the doors that go Bump in the night - This was a very noisy premier inn with doors banging until 3am and I’ve visited quieter petting zoos if I’m honest, it was a very unremarkable venue with almost no furniture in our room but space to ballet if I felt the inclination and oddly enough no running hot water in the sink. But the car parking was good and the staff was friendly and polite. The food in the pub next door left a lot to be desired with it being dried out under a heat lamp while I guess my steak was cooked but the drinks was what you expect and you recognise with no nasty surprises. So all in all, I will not use this location again for sure and I’d sooner not travel than book another premier Inn if they are all this bad.
- Robert (8/5): - Being across from tram and train stop makes this hotel convenient. Otherwise, it's not particularly close to anything. Nice, clean, pleasant stay.
- Richard/Monique (2/5): - This property should ALWAYS post their adress with the confirmation email. We ended up at the wrong Premier Inn because of some misleading information in the original reservation. There are more than 3 Premier Inns in the area. Also just because it says Airport Park, this does not mean it is close to the airport! My original reservation said there was an airport shuttle which was also untrue. Clarification of this listing is needed!
- Vick (8/5): OK - Great location. Close to Tram. Room was clean.
Staff wasn't the friendliest.
- Rantinrover (6/5): Overnight stay pre-flight - We stayed here the evening in advance of an early morning flight from Edinburgh Airport (it’s a 4 mile, 10 minute drive).
We were able to check-in our hold luggage at the airport using Jet2’s Twilight Drop Off service before checking-in at the hotel.
They have a large car park, managed by a third-party presumably to avoid non-residents utilising it to park and travel on the nearby tram, but in any case a charge applies. We had booked months in advance and had been notified by email that the parking charge had increased in the interim period however we could obtain the old rate by asking a member of staff. With this in mind we by-passed the automated check-in machines and rang a bell at reception for attention. A member of staff quickly attended to the check-in process and although not sure about our parking query he said he would deal with it. The normal charge appears to be £4.50 for up to 24 hours. We were only at the hotel for 9 hours, between 7pm and 4.15am the following morning so were pleased to subsequently discover that the charge was officially waived altogether.
We booked a Premier Plus Double Room for £143, to which we added a Meal Deal costing £57.98. This consisted of Dinner for two (£14 each), plus a drink (£3 each) and breakfast (£11.99 each). Needless to say, with our very early departure, we were unable to make use of the breakfast element!
Despite the in-house “Thyme” restaurant hardly looking at capacity, the first time we could reserve a table for dinner was 8pm. We therefore dumped our bags and returned to the bar for a pre-dinner drink. With hindsight we should have booked the meal time in advance days before however we were unsure how things were going to work out at the airport so had to accept dining later than was ideal.
The bar and restaurant area are modern and comfortable. The menu is typical pub grub. Our Bombay Sapphire Gin & Tonic (£7.15) and a 175ml glass of white wine (£5.35) are probably typically priced for the outskirts of Edinburgh - a 250ml glass of wine post-dinner was £10.05.
We both ordered Crispy Chicken Goujons served with BBQ sauce as starters (normally £6.79 each); followed by mains of Beer-Battered Fish & Chips, served with garden peas and tartare sauce (normally £14.89); and The Smokey Big Stack - two steak burgers with cheese, lettuce, red onions, gherkin, onion rings, BBQ sauce and fries (normally £15.19). We added a glass of white wine each per the meal deal. The meal deal comparison price-wise was a saving of around £20 - almost enough to cover our “lost” breakfast!
The food was good - the goujons had tender chicken, the fish was lightly battered and tasty and my wife enjoyed the burgers. Perhaps our opinion was slightly tinted by the fact that we had reached the stage of being hungry but it seemed decent enough and was served hot. The servers too were pleasant. There were enough guests around to create a pleasant, peaceful ambiance but I’m sure if they had staffing levels in the kitchen and/or restaurant at higher levels, they had the space for more guests to dine earlier.
We retired to our room for our brief stay with the mobile phone alarms set for 3.30am!
The Premier Plus rooms are a bit more upmarket looking than the standard ones, with a few perks. In this case we were pleasantly surprised that the room (301) had a walk-in shower rather than one over the bath. A bonus for my wife who finds clambering over the bath difficult due to a dodgy knee. It had a standard and rainfall shower setting with good water pressure. The toiletries in wall dispensers were also better than average.
The bed was disappointing as it was not as comfortable as the usual Premier Inn mattress which was a surprise. Perhaps it needed replacing? Previously we have considered buying the Silentnight mattress they use as it has provided a good sleep. It also seemed to be quite small, again not a usual issue. We were never going to get a great nights sleep with a plane to catch in the morning but it was a long night!
Other facilities included a coffee machine, a fridge with bottled water, wall mounted TV, iron & board, armchair & footstool, desk chair, padded bench and wall art. There was plenty of storage space for a short stay.
The air conditioning was effective however my wife wanted it turned off when we went to bed and consequently the room was too warm overnight not helping with the issue of sleeping.
Our room overlooked the car park at the rear of the building so there was no disturbance from the nearby railway or trams.
In the morning it was a short drive to the security car park at the airport and at that time the road to get there was quiet, albeit the approach road to the terminal was congested!
We will likely stay again at the hotel on visits to Edinburgh and hope for a better mattress next time.
- vicmT6257VA (6/5): Don't bother with the self Check-in screens! - The self check-in desks are a farce! On our first visit we were encouraged by a member of staff to use the screens and after numerous attempts it didn't work (the staff member hovered over us to make sure we were doing it right! and couldn't understand why it hadn't worked) and the screen eventually displayed the message "out of order" and we had to check-in at the Reception Desk! On our second visit of the month we decided to give it another try! We also used it to book a Meal Deal - bad idea! The key card didn't work at our room so we had to go to Reception to get it sorted. The check-in screens do not advise you about the availability of tables for dinner when you book & pay. So we ended up dining at 9pm (after a very long day of travellling), and quite a number of items on the menu were not available! Also, new dishes advertised in and around the restaurant were not yet available! If you want an evening meal at the hotel it is still best to book with staff at the Reception desk, at least they can let you know what slots are available! Also, I would recommend checking-in with them too....less hassle and will save you some time!
- Keith (6/5): - Perfect location for catching a train, tram or bus.
- Robert (8/5): - Situated right by the train and tram line, this Premier Inn was an ideal base for exploring Edinburgh. For those with a car, there is a reasonable car park. There is a restaurant in the hotel. Traveling across the station bridge, there is a modern outlet style mall with various stores including a Tesco and some fast food restaurants.
- MrsS858 (10/5): Great weekend - We arrived on Friday for a weekend getaway. Check in was smooth, greeted by friendly staff. The room was very clean and comfortable. Everything we could possibly want for a little weekend away. No traffic noise so a decent nights sleep.
- lucy (4/5): - Although the room is nice, services are too limited for the price (way over priced). No early breakfast, (started at 7am) staff didn't know how I could get to airport early, no iron in room, (had to carry an ironing board and iron up to my room, with no offer of assistance). Thats ok for a cheep hotel but this was not cheap. It was twice as expensive as the Premier in at Heathrow Airport.
- K. (6/5): - Clerk when we arrived took our bags and locked them up she was good, but after we had gone to Edinburgh castle and was tired and just wanted our bags, the guy was really slow to come to the desk and there were a few people behind us. There was dirty water in the sink. Hotel is next to train and tram so convenient, extremely limited dining in the evening.
- ALA EDEEN (6/5): Multiple stains. - Towels and bedsheets had multiple stains and rip. Basic hotel for the price. Front desk team were responsive, but did not seem enthusiastic. Location near Edinburgh Park Station, and airport, is a plus.
- Y9637CXjulier (10/5): The beautiful woman with the kindest Scottish soul made our stay top notch with her kindness. - The front desk clerk made our stay absolutely wonderful. After finding out we had a flat tyre she was so helpful, courteous and made us feel so much Scottish hospitality. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you🏴🩵
- Derek (6/5): - Basic and near the airport. Nothing else to say
- Rosemeyre (10/5): Perfect!!! - Perfect!
- Geraldine (8/5): - Easy access to train station trams and airport
- Ola (10/5): - Nice hotel and great breakfast
- Mobile35220 (4/5): Not an Airport hotel - 20mins on the tram , limited availability to eat, book restaurant well in advance - Hotel is not an airport hotel, be prepared to travel another 20mins on the tram , not within walking distance with luggage. No places to sit down to eat a meal, the hotel has a restaurant however needs to be booked well in advance to be guaranteed a suitable time in the evening to eat, staff response when you cant get a space in their restaurant and being expected to wait 1 & 1/2 hours before a table is available, is you can go to Tesco or KFC for takeaway food, which might suit some people or travel back on the tram to the Gyle centre or Edinburgh to eat. Not good when you are only able to check in from 3pm onwards. The room was clean .
- grahamalison7 (4/5): Could be better staff good - Carpet filthy, bed good, food could have been better, We're not told when booking that although having meal deal some food and drinks cost extra this is not good for people on a budget
- Andrew (10/5): - Excellent option for a brief stay over near the airport
- Mustafa (8/5): - Breakfast was not suitable for us. It is not continental. No cheese, ham or beef/chickhen selections. Only pork/ham. Prefer to book this hotel without breakfast. İt was easy to reach centre via train. There were shops around.
- Kirk (10/5): - It was just next to both tram and train. And it had a wonderful breakfast
- BLH613 (4/5): Front desk team at check in very rude and lacking hospitality, room just ok, dirty chair and intermittent air con - We recently spent two nights at this hotel but would not stay here again. We arrived at 2:40 pm after several hours of driving, a little earlier than the navigation in our car had estimated, fully understanding check in was not until 3. We thought that perhaps we could drop our bags with the front desk and perhaps get a cold drink at the attached coffee shop before check in. We then planned to leave to return our car to the airport rental area before taking the tram into the city for dinner. Instead, we were greeted by a very rude and condescending front desk team member who told us we could get a beverage but would need to pay for parking for 24 hours, even though we told him we were not leaving our rental car at the hotel but were going to return it at the airport immediately after checking in and dropping our bags. He insisted we would have to pay to park for the less than 20 minute stop, not the least bit hospitable in my opinion and very off-putting. Rather than pay for an unnecessary overnight parking permit, we left, parked in a nearby lay by for 15 minutes and then returned to the front desk. On our return there was a line to check in and we waited almost 20 minutes before another equally rude staff member steered us to a digital check in area. Almost an hour after we initially arrived at the hotel we finally got a key, dropped our bags and left to return our car to the airport before taking the tram into the city.
After our dinner and exploration in the city we returned to our room and had the chance to actually see the quality of the room. Though the rest of the room was relatively clean, the armchair was disgusting with stains on the cushion as if someone had wet themselves. I’m not sure how housekeeping could miss that. It would have been better to have no chair than one that looked as this one did. The bed itself was comfortable but it was very warm sleeping overnight as the air conditioning would turn off for no apparent reason and I had to keep pressing the on/off button to restart it in the night.
We did not have the meal plan but did have dinner in the hotel restaurant on our second night, which was very nice with very pleasant team members and good food. However, if you don’t purchase breakfast at the hotel, the coffee shop in the lobby area is the only other option for morning beverages but they don’t open until 8 am (allegedly). Sadly it is not a good option. We stopped in on our first morning and were served by a team member who was too busy chatting with her coworker to pay much attention to customers and on the second morning, a Saturday, they had still not opened by the time we checked out at 8:40. All in all, not a great experience and I’d not stay here again, but it is convenient for tram access to the city and airport.
- Kevin (8/5): - We stayed one night at Premier Inn Edinburgh Park – Airport and had a very good experience. The location was perfect, just a short distance from the airport with easy access to the tram and train for getting into the city. Check-in was quick and efficient, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, with everything we needed for a short stopover. The bed was especially comfortable, making it easy to get a good night’s rest before an early flight. We also appreciated the on-site restaurant, which offered convenient meal options without having to leave the hotel.
Overall, it’s a reliable, comfortable, and well-located hotel for anyone needing an overnight stay near Edinburgh Airport. I’d happily stay again.
- sharon0901 (10/5): Good vibes - The hotel is spacious, clean and a very comfortable bed and pillows. The food was good, great value for money and tasted delicious. Service was fine as well.
- Bonnie (8/5): - Clean and comfortable. There is no shuttle to airport but train is close.
- L9804ETtomb (10/5): Fabulous ! - Honestly the best premier inn in Edinburgh- the staff are lovely - the food was fantastic. Great easy check in on the automated machines. I stay here often & everyone is always brilliant . Thanks team Edinburgh see you next time I’m here.
- Jim (10/5): Definate place to stay. - Great place to stay, near the airport. Only thing wrong was no Salmon Ceasar Salad.
- Brenna (8/5): - Clean room, nice stay. We had a bit of trouble with the TV and the thermostat.
Front desk was helpful with check-in.
- 552allief (6/5): Grubby - poor finish in bathroom - Mould peeling patches above the shower - very disappointing for the price paid. Quite grubby and felt run down. Didnt sleep as we were way too hot with the tiny window opening and its autumn in Edinburgh. We booked as thought we would get more for our money 20 min out of Edinburgh - will not be back and would not recommend.
- wishmijo (10/5): Last minute decision to stayover - Spent the day at North Berwick for a skiff rowing regatta and decided to find somewhere to stay for the night. Booked online about tea time and got a room at Premier Inn nearby.
Easy to find, ample parking, pleasant and helpful receptionist.
Went to brewers restaurant next door for a meal. We were not disappointed with the food or the service we received. Later, we found out that they were very short staffed, but the two staff that were on shift were really pleasant, and nothing was a problem. I asked a question about the ingredients of a particular drink, and they brought out an allergy list, but unfortunately, the information required was not included on it.
I decided to have a cocktail instead 🍸 we went for breakfast, and the chap that was on shift the night before was there again and he was still smiling 😃 I would recommend this place on staff alone - well done for being professional whilst under pressure. Will return if in the area again.
- LEOPOLDO ALBERTO (6/5): - Muy buena comunicación con el transporte, respecto al servicio siempre hay margen de mejora
- LightPacker597840 (6/5): Great nights sleep but bathtub a slip and fall hazard - Bed super comfortable, quiet accommodations and good parking. Tub/ shower combination in bath and tub way too high insufficient grab bar very difficult to get in to and very slick, a slipping hazard for sure. Felt unsafe using it.
- Smokey270 (4/5): Run Down poor food selections and standard - Well
No sure what to make of this place usually Premier Inns have a standard and why I usually book them
Not here !
Guy at check in couldn’t be bothered when I arrived no mention breakfast times or anything
He mumbled that the restaurant opened at 6pm
Room was ok if tired a bit but clean enough with smallest TV I’ve ever seen in a hotel
The meal selection is as much reduced menu and again same guy that was at reception delivered my soggy fish and chips
No draught beers or draft coke etc
The place was soul less
After delivering the good no peas or salads as garnish he retired to behind the bar to carry on his phone
Breakfast was equally as poor bacon undercooked and hash brown soggy
No coffee machine available only flasks hot water
Check out no one asked about stay
Premier either get a grip of this place or close it
- 146tabethah (10/5): Very helpful staff - Staff were super friendly and very helpful, Karen at the front desk went out of her way to make us comfortable and take care of all our needs. Rooms were standard, nice and clean.
- 1000madcow (10/5): Karen was amazing!! - Karen was absolutely amazing when we arrived! She couldn’t do more to help us. With room changes and special requirements nothing was too much! An asset to the team and should truly be valued accordingly!
Thank you for making everything so easy after a long stressful day of driving up the country!
- Karen (10/5): - It was a very pleasant evening - the food was good, the room was spacious and bathroom clean and very large. Near to the airport.
- Ken (8/5): - Handy for train into Edinburgh and trams to and from the airport
- Karen (10/5): - Staff were very helpful. Excellent dining package. Very convenient for travels too/from airport.
- Annika (8/5): Bra kommunikation till flygplats - En övernattning pga tidigt flyg. Bra kommunikation med tåg direkt utanför hotellet. Mycket tillmötesgående frukostvärdinna. Rekommenderas.
- Leanne (10/5): - Wonderful stay just out of town but so convenient to the tram and airport. Easy to get into city centre. Great breakfast!!
- hilaryhart63 (8/5): Lovely staff made the visit really special - Stayed at the Premier Inn on Carberry road for 2 nights, in August, as we were attending a wedding nearby. The room was comfortable, and the meals at the attached Brewers Fayre were tasty, but what really made our experience great was the staff. What a friendly welcoming bunch they were. They were approachable and helpful, as there was a lot of toing and froing the day before the wedding. We would particularly like to mention Amy, who was so kind and managed to find the coat my husband thought he had lost, taking the trouble to call and let us know.
On leaving, the staff said that they hoped we would be back, and it was so genuine. We often stay at Premier Inn, as you know what to expect, but this time, it really was a pleasure!
Many thanks to the team!
- Companion21701953512 (8/5): Oasis edinburgh - Greater stay overall,just room was very hot,staff provided extra fan,but didn't make much difference,but enjoyed stay,would return.
- Miguel (10/5): - Comfortable
- Alper (6/5): You can consider other alternatives - The hotel wasn't very clean. The carpets smelled damp. The plastic bag left under the bed indicated that the floors hadn't been cleaned very well. We were also woken up by the fire alarm in the morning. After waiting a bit, we went back inside. We weren't given any information about why the alarm went off. I also didn't like the attitude of the lady who first greeted us. A little smile wouldn't hurt anyone. There wasn't even a small refrigerator in the room. There's still a bathtub in the bathroom. My wife had a really hard time after having foot surgery.
- Murat (8/5): herşey güzeldi genel olarak - istasyona çok yakın, sessiz ve temiz bir otel. Çamaşırhane yoktu
- disscot (8/5): Pleasant stay - The room was a standard premier inn room. It’s was clean and very spacious. We had a twin room and the beds were very comfortable. Was very warm as no air conditioning. Would stay again. We didn’t eat any food so can’t comment on that.
- Robert (8/5): - Room was perfectly fine. Breakfast was surprisingly good!
- shashank (10/5): - Good stay, right opposite to tram and train station. Closer to city but away from city chaos. Close to airport aswel. Loved the stay spacious rooms
- Michael C (8/5): - Excellent place to stay due to short distance from airport and to Edinburgh. Rooms nice and clean and quiet. Staff is great. Everyday took the tram to the city which was 10-15 mins due to a couple of stops. The only thing that was disappointing was the breakfast. I feel some of the food was not very tasteful.
- jlS3940DC (10/5): Very helpful reception staff - Karen at reception in Musselburgh was a delight. Very helpful in all respects, including acting politely and efficiently to deal with my room booking issue.
- Simon (4/5): - Air con wouldn’t work - would come on for a few minutes then stop.
Lack of pillows and towels.
Called prior to arrival asked for room close by as elderly parent we got room furthest away possible from reception and restaurant
- Alonso (10/5): - Frente a paradas de tren y tramline
- 568GaryS (8/5): Good for a cheap night's sleep - Hotel is fine for a cheap room.
Getting a little tired now but general clean with good beds, pillows not so.
We didn't have a good experience getting a drink and snack in the pub out front. I would consider eating before you get there.
- James (8/5): - Pretty good place and handy between airport and old and new town
- Marazzi87 (4/5): - The rooms are up to the normal standard but both the hotel and restaurant are badly under-staffed with resultant service problems. The same guy checked us in at the hotel, opened up the restaurant, seated customers, took their food orders, ran the bar, served the food, cleaned the tables, and took the money. It's not his fault - he told us he was taken on as a receptionist! There were just 2 people on duty to cover all these different roles across 2 buildings separated by a big car park. Clearly management have a lot to answer for here. The menu is a slimmed down version of what other Premier Inns have to offer and the bar has no draught beer taps. Everything on offer is the absolute minimum, and unfortunately the staff get all the criticism where the real problems lie with management.
- Alan (6/5): Average airport hotel - Just your average airport hotel. Very basic towels and pillows in the room. Staff are pleasant but only one person on duty at the desk, if at all, most of check in and out is automated. Convenient location tho for trains and trams to and from the city and airport.
- Kristin (4/5): - Restaurant service so poor we walked out. Thought it was airport hotel but we needed to take a taxi to airport. Tables sticky.
- elizabethfK8014KU (10/5): Great place to stay - Comfortable, spacious and clean rooms. Air conditioning very much appreciated and the curtains made the room very dark. Lovely breakfast including vegan options. Staff very friendly.
- Taffy199 (2/5): Worst premier inn I’ve stayed at. - Where to start. We were not informed that the attached bar restaurant was being renovated until the day we arrived. Went in for food (limited menu) and was given a microwave chicken curry. The rice was still clumped together and it wasn’t hot.
The hotel itself was hot due to no air conditioning which we were informed had been broken for a few days and there was no sign of being fixed anytime soon. ( A fan was offered ). This during Scotlands only heatwave.
We asked for the room to be given a clean after cpl of days which they did half a job,yes bed was made and towels changed. But not taking dirty cups away, but leaving clean cups next to them ??
Overall not worth the money. Uncomfortable nights sleep.
- tony7one (6/5): Business stay for the Duration of the Scottish Open Scotland 🏴 - A convenient location for a hotel, when we were working at the GSO. The hotel was as to be expected and the staff are all wonderful, unfortunately it’s located adjacent to the bar/restaurant next door……… The staff in the adjacent restaurant/bar are all outstanding and deserve acknowledgment for the work they perform in such a terrible set of circumstances.
If you want to the following
Flooded toilets
Limited menu availability
Swarms of flies
Limited availability of drinks
Last orders at 8:30 on a Sunday
Overly sticky carpets and tables
Then this is the place for you!.
It’s a shame, as the staff give you such a warm welcome, but the venue requires a major overhaul, to bring it up to date and to a standard that all the staff deserve. Hoped we’ll visit again next year and Whitbread would have invested in the building, giving the staff what they deserve……….🤞🏻🤞🏻
- pamelameek565 (4/5): Poor stay - Very poor would not go again unpleasant staff brewers fayre which is part of the premier inn food microwaved bar closed early this was probably there best money making weekend all year as just a few miles away was the Scottish golf open ,probably staff need retraining, have stayed in lots of premier inns but never had this treatment before
- Verena (8/5): - Super lage
- G4677HHgeorges (2/5): Terrible - Staff knocking on our door waking us up for absolutely no reason and very disrespectful !! Staff member very demanding no customer care at any point
- ROSANNA (8/5): - P
- sarahdL5963PG (8/5): Comfortable overnight accommodation close to Musselburgh - The best test of a hotel is how well you can sleep there - and we woke up at 8am without any night time wakes ups, which amazed us both.
The room was a standard Premier Inn room with a sizeable TV and spare single bed, which was handy for an afternoon nap.
The shower was hot and powerful enough for hair washing.
We used the Wifi which cost £5/day and was easy to set up a connection.
The hotel is surrounded by trees and bushes which yield good noice protection from traffic on the local roads.
- Stefan (4/5): Ok hotel - Hotel is OK, restaurant and food are OK as well. Modestly priced restaurant that would not break the bank. Right next to the train station so if you can figure out the schedule and have the time to wait, good option for getting into downtown.
- 794nikb (2/5): Terrible - Horrible old hotel in the middle on nowhere with poor dining facility. Nothing near by so stuck using their horrible restaurant. £200 a night, for what shoudl not have cost more than £50 - never again will I stay at a Premier
- kiarah444 (10/5): Solo trip - The friendliest team ever totally went above and beyond making me feel so at ease. Rooms were completely spotless and felt very welcoming. Would definitely recommend and will be back
