- suzannesV2717JL (2/5): Dreadful hotel - From the outside it looked like a normal
Premier Inn. On check in it was apparent that they were very short staffed as it took ages for anybody to respond to the buzzer (all the self serve check in desks were out of order).
The room - it was awful. Filthy threadbare carpet, marked walls, black mould in corners of room and in the windows.
I had to make several trips to reception as the 2nd key card wasn’t working, the third bed hadn’t even been made so I made it myself but the sheets had blood on so I had to request a clean set. There was no toilet roll and only one towel between three of us for two nights. Some of the electric sockets didn’t work and all the housing had come away from the wall so it wouldn’t have been safe for children.
I paid extra for a ‘room with a view’. The view consisted of the Edinburgh Council offices and a row of homeless people living in tents.
It cost around £550 for two nights which was robbery. I think joining the homeless in a tent would have been no worse.
Never again will I use Premier Inn.
- F2512WYgillianl (10/5): Excellent service - Not our first visit to Newcraighall and, hopefully, not our last. As always, service was great. The hotel is in a great position, just across the road from a park and ride, making a trip into Edinburgh very easy. On our first morning, the breakfast room was incredibly busy as it was a Scottish Bank holiday. The two ladies working in there were brilliant. They were completely calm, friendly, cheerful and totally unflappable, providing an excellent, freshly cooked breakfast in a very clean and tidy environment for everyone. Well done to them.
- louiseeU4519ZD (10/5): Positive and pleasant stay - A great location, the train station for Edinburgh city centre is a short walk away and only a 10 minute train.
The atmosphere is friendly and pleasant.
The rooms are clean and comfortable.
The value for money is really good- breakfast is also great with lots of choice available for anyone.
There is limited noise as it is a quiet location.
The service for breakfast and reception was exceptional- really helpful, polite and friendly making it a really pleasant stay.
Would recommend and would visit again.
- rogerellis1964 (2/5): Not the best by a long way. - The check-in was poor. We were eventually served by duty manager, who was very mumbled and couldn't wait to pass us our room key and move on. Our room was very poor as we'd paid for Premier plus room. It wasn't clean, there were marks on desk area where a spill hadn't been cleaned up. The fridge and kettle were dirty. The headboard has a piece missing. The bed was lumpy and squeaked every time I moved. I went down to reception to see if we could have a better room. Eventually after a long wait someone came to reception and I was told we could move rooms the following day as they were fully booked. Not a lot we could do but spend the night in the allocated room. Something in roof space was noisy all through the night. In the morning the young lady on reception was very helpful and assured us she would sort another room for when we returned. On returning we were given a new room. Much cleaner but still a lumpy bed!!
Stopped 3 nights in total for our Ruby wedding anniversary. At breakfast the food was ok but service was poor with one member of staff behind counter more interested in his mobile phone. Question mark over hygiene practices. We had stopped at this hotel 2 years previously and had a wonderful stay. What has happened? We have stopped at many Premier inns over many years but this has been the worst experience ever and I question whether we will ever stay at a Premier Inn ever again. Really spoilt what should have been a wonderful time. Maybe AIRBNB next time.
- wg985 (2/5): WORST HOTEL I'VE EVER STAYED IN - AVOID! THE WORST HOTEL ANYONE COULD STAY IN!
I would give this hotel minus stars if I could. Absolutely filthy hotel.
During our stay, we encountered several issues that significantly impacted the quality of our visit:
List of issues below:
1) The room was not properly cleaned upon arrival. The bathroom had visible mould, and the linens were stained.
2) Paint peeling on walls, skirting board, laminate pealing and burn marks on shelf and desk.
3) Stains on carpets and chairs.
4) Headboard torn.
5) No hot water from sink tap.
6) Damp above window and air conditioning vent
7) Dirty walls & bathroom bin.
8) Mould in bathroom and around window.
9) Chip on bathroom sink
10) Dirty hard child's bed with dirty stained bedding.
11) Rude staff (lady who works from 3pm onwards refused to change bedding as she said there was no point as all the bedding is the same.
We would have moved hotels but as it was half term there wasn't any availability elsewhere.
After raising our concerns we did get a full refund.
- 766belindan (2/5): Very disappointing indeed - Very disappointing. The bedroom had thick dust in the corners. The white sealant around the bath/shower was stained black and the grouting was black with dirt. There was dirt in the corners of the bathroom also. The corridor (3rd floor) did not appear to be clean and fresh.
I wont be back.
- debbie19666 (10/5): Fab location - Perfect location for shopping , Christmas Markets and everything else in between. Great breakfast. Indian restaurant next door is amazing but you need to book
- Janenw5 (8/5): Wonderful staff - don’t bother paying for countryside view - Staff were lovely - super welcoming. Usual comfy bed I expect with a premier inn. Dinner menu lacked healthy choices but loved that breakfast was freshly cooked to order.
Reason for 4 not 5 star rating is that I paid extra for a countryside view. See photo of my view - a car park with skip’s where a lorry emptied them at 5am complete with loud “caution vehicle reversing” noise. Yes it’s true I could see a hill in daylight but give the hotel but seriously, would you call that view “countryside” and charge your guest extra for it?!
- millie1951 (10/5): Would stay again - Arrived and were greeted with a friendly welcome from Wendy at reception. We were checked in quickly , she was full of lots of helpful transport information and local knowledge about great restaurants in Musselburgh. We ate at Parrilla Argentinian for dinner it was 10/10. The room was basic but comfortable and clean, nice bedding and fluffy towels.
We decided to have breakfast in the morning and for £10.99 it’s a bargain, considering a Starbucks and a croissant would cost £7. The breakfast ladies were very attentive and the food was fresh and piping hot, lots of choice. Lisa I think her name was made us feel very welcome and was so chatty.
- rajitd2025 (10/5): Perfect Premier Inn Experience! - We chose Premier Inn for an easy drive to experience, ample parking on the Saturday night. Very welcoming and lovely staff at check-in and at the morning's breakfast. Would recommend
- tronman (10/5): Birthday visit to Musselburgh - Great welcome at reception booked our breakfast time room clean and a great night's sleep shower good.
Breakfast excellent the staff were very helpful sort all requests checked for alleges.
Very tasty well cooked food well presented really enjoyed our breakfasts
- 333ang (10/5): Great breakfast cooked by a lovely lady. - Clean comfortable hotel. Very friendly staff, especially the lady who cooks the breakfast. Managed to stay calm under pressure and cheery despite customers waiting for certain breakfast items to be cooked. The breakfast was really nice. The breakfast room could probably be a bit bigger.
- Karenandnickl (4/5): Not the best - The desk is unmanned most of the time, generally there seemed to be a shortage of staff.
Our room was on the fist floor and was level with a staff smoking area. The net curtain was on the floor and the dark curtains had to be closed all the time making the room very dark. There is mould in the bathroom and generally the rooms are tired. The premier inn in Princes Street is a much better option.
- Rosebudpip (10/5): You know exactly what you are getting with a Premier inn, location, comfort and great value. - The location is great , very near the main station and many of the famous tourist attractions. Great view from our room.
Rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds, extra pillows and bedding available. Tea/coffee making facilities, good bathroom with bath and shower and plenty of room to store/hang clothes.
Breakfast here is great and great value for money bearing in mind that just one coffee and a pastry in this highly priced area could set you you back £7-15! Breakfasts are huge here, eat as much as you like continental and full English available for £10.99!
Premier inns are always great value for money as they are usually in great central locations, they are clean and comfortable.
Eu amei tudo!
- kianicolem (2/5): Poor rooms with black mould in bathrooms - Location was good for tourists for the city centre with some close bars/attractions.
However on arrival we were given a room which belonged to someone else, luckily we were not the type of people to take advantage but I would be unimpressed if it was my room someone else had been given, no disrespect to the reception staff as this is likely to happen at times and it was sorted very quickly.
However the bedroom once we entered, the bathroom was full of black mould by the bath, with mould and blood stains on the roof, with mould also evident by the window stills. Generally unclean due to this and unleaded at the room considering premiere in is a usually respectable business and normally very clean.
- T2863KTcolinm (8/5): Business Stay - Same as most Premiere Inn hotels. good reception, great nights sleep and food was also good. The attached pub does great food but it does get very busy with the locals due to it's popularity so I would suggest booking ahead if you plan to have an evening meal.
- keeleyc199 (8/5): Overall good - Great location for the royal mile. Nice breakfast also chef did us poached eggs very nice of them . Had one member of staff who was a bit straight faced and didn't appear welcoming. But all others were helpful . Arrived to only one towel so had to ask more as we are a couple.Bathroom needs attention as there was quite a lot of mould around the bath , and smelt a little damp. Only four coat hangers between us.
- F2143WRdavidk (6/5): Noisy - Noisy hotel with trains going by and could hear other guests above me walking around
Bathroom needs a tidy up with rotten wood
- RetiredOneHappy (4/5): Not the best...... - We were unable to check in early so left our case in secure room. When shown to our room it was awful. The smell was shocking. The bathroom had black mould on the ceiling and walls. We asked for a room changed and they did it for us. That one wasn't much better. Without us asking, they upgraded us to a Premier Plus Room. While we were very grateful for this (it's not the staff's fault) this room was very tired. The foot stool was very tatty and material was peeling off as was the trim on the dressing table. The sink tap was plumbed wrong, you couldn't move it to the left into the hot position. Only cold water came out. Bizarrely, the hairdryer cable was screwed into the wall only allowing about 1 foot of cable to be available. I could barely get the hairdryer to reach the top of my head and I'm a small person. A tall person would have no chance. At breakfast nothing was labeled so we had no idea what the 'pink stuff' in a large bowl was and we just presumed the white stuff was Greek yoghurt. None of the juices were labeled. Everything just seemed ½ hearted. The staff on reception were great. Very accommodating and happy to advise re eateries nearby. We felt sorry for them as we weren't the only people with room issues. Yet they carried on in a very happy manner. The plus side to this hotel is that it is 3 minutes walk to the railway station and 100 yards from The Royal Mile. We wouldn't go back but would book the P. I. on Princes Street instead. That has the wonderful Bar+Block restaurant attached to it. Almost forgot ..... The restaurant was closed on the night we arrived (staffing issues) We stay all over the country in P. I. and this one has had its day, sadly. It's only the staff that are keeping it going.
- Katharve (10/5): Great - Great hotel, good location, rooms are a little tired with peeling furniture, reception was great, especially with the very difficult customer in front of us while checking in, breakfast was lovely, will def consider staying here in future
- minxietwo (6/5): mediocre experience - great location for visiting edinburgh, across the road from the park and ride(only 4.20 return on the train). rooms were small and dated. asked for the room to be cleaned one day(we stayed 4 days), bed wasnt made, bin was emptied, but rubbish was left on the floor, pretty much a half arsed attempt at cleaning. my wife cut her finger on one of the breakfast chairs, and we were told we would recieve a refund for 2 days breakfast( but havent)
- 739iainc (4/5): A hotel going down hill. - Since covid, this hotel has gone down hill. We had to ask for a change of room due to noisy guests in the room above us. Yes, the staff did speak to them but there was no improvement. When we complained again,we were told by the reception that the guests were not breaking the law however, they would move us. Neither room had a bedside cabinet on one side of the bed and they placed a stool by the bed. There was no settee in the second room and the skirting in the bathroom was unfinished and unpainted. We have stayed at the Craig Hall premier inn on several occasions and each time,it gets worse.
- damob2014 (10/5): Excellent location, clean and tidy rooms. Some niggles at breakfast, on the whole a great stay for tourism in Edinburgh - Excellent location for accessing the Royal mile (you literally walk up one of the side roads and you are on it). Room was ready for early check in and was clean and tidy as expected. There was only one towel which was rectified at reception. We had breakfast included on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning. Wednesday and Thursday were fine and everything was available. Friday however didn’t have a full array of items and nothing seemed to be available all at once. For 10 minutes bacon and sausage were available. Then they would go and then eggs and mushrooms were only available. I had to wait 15 minutes for it all to be available together which was frustrating and the reason for a knocked down star. Some of the staff were wearing non uniform also (tracksuit top and joggers) collecting plates which didn’t look professional.
Those minor things aside it was great for visiting Edinburghs tourist sights and I would stay there again if in Edinburgh
- B2482IXsusanj (6/5): Disappointing stay. - Great location. However the hotel was not very clean in the main areas, arriving at 3pm the breakfast and bar area floors very unclean. The room had no ventilation, smelled damp and after a shower the walls ran with condensation. A/C ineffective. Breakfast was poorly prepared, fairly lacklustre approach all round, not what we normally expect from a Premier inn. I suspect poor daily team management.
- davidbR4272DU (4/5): Poorly maintained - Poorly maintained short staffed
After paying £15 of my hard earned cash for early check in I was kept waiting a short time until my room was ready. I had paid for a premier plus room with a view.
The first room bed headboard was worn so I asked to change rooms, it was exactly the same. The manager agreed that the rooms coukd do with a refresh and offered a 20% reduction in price plus 3x free breakfasts 1 for each day of my stay.
The mattress is worn out as when you get into bed it doesn't offer support and you hit the bed stead.
In addition to the worn out headboard the chairs were all worn which didn't look great and there was a light out in my bathroom which didn't get fixed despite being told by the manager it would be.
The restaurant was rebooting only I went down at 1730 and was told it was fully booked, there was no one in. At 1800 after ordering in food there was one family of four seated in the restaurant. The guy on reception said there was only one cheif and they limited the numbers and he was only doing what he was told.
The good - not too far to walk to the railway station.
IN DESPERATE NEED OF RENOVATION.
- P6248BCpama (10/5): A peaceful overnight and so handy for Edinburgh - The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful, the room was comfortable and quiet, on the back of the hotel. It's great to get free parking and be a couple of minutes walk to a station for the train to Edinburgh which takes 10 minutes.
- Karthik (10/5): - Did not have breakfast at the hotel
- Fabian (6/5): - Leider ging die heizung nicht es wahr sehr kalt
- neile810 (6/5): Nice hotel poor food lots of items no available - Nice clean hotel friendly staff but was letdown by brewers fare first night we wanted cottage pie which they didn't have so ordered beef and ale pie which was overcooked so couldn't eat it my wife had lasagna which was bury to the bottom
Dessert
Cheese cake
And apple cameral pie
Both were good
Second night
Fish and chips were sold out
Cottage pie out of stock gain
So ordered burger classic
Smoothed chicken
Burger was burt and lukewarm
Smoothed chicken was ok
Cheese cake was nice
Carmel apple pie was good
Kitchen staff needs retraining
- 856JULIES856 (8/5): Great location - Great location , basic rooms but clean and comfortable could do with a little more hanging and drawer space.
Breakfast prices good and good selection.
Gonzarlo the young man on reception was very helpful and gave us a great recommendation on an Italian restaurant, Gordon's.
Very helpful young slim lady with long hair on reception .
- Pioneer20738897086 (4/5): Look elsewhere - Awful experience from check in to departure. Paid for early check in to be told there isnt any rooms available... (after a 10 minute wait to check in) also hasn't been refunded.
Room was dirty and in severe need of a freshen up, bed sheets were like bin liners, pillows were thinner than my palm, good luck drying your hair... and asthmatic blowing on your hair would be quicker.
Locked changed while we were there and unable to get into the room.
- James (10/5): - The transportation (train and bus) into the city centre was close by and affordable. The beds were very comfortable and the attached restaurant had good food and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this facility to others.
- Global33258164615 (10/5): Great stay in Edinburgh Premier Inn - Brilliant location, 5 minutes walk from train station.
Easy access to all sights and transport links.
Staff at the hotel are all brilliant and very helpful with any need or requirement that you may have.
It is a family hotel with a breakfast and dinner menu fit for all. If any special requirements you can speak direct to the chefs or the waiting staff.
The family room we had was an exceptional size with plenty of space on the top floor. There was no noise from other rooms or from the street outside.
The only downside was that the room was a bit tired and in need of a little TLC but that was outweighed by the space in the room and the view over Edinburgh from the window.
Overall it was a fantastic stay at this hotel and will return without second thoughts.
- 636marcih (10/5): Great Location for Edinburgh Travel - Premier Inn Newcraighall is a great place to stay if you are visiting Edinburgh. It may seem far from the city centre, but the Newcraighall train station across the street will get you downtown in 15 minutes for about $7 USD round trip. Shopping, coffee shops, and restaurants are close by, and the Cuddie Brae is connected to the hotel. The hotel staff is always friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
- scoboouk (6/5): Great location, basic rooms with peeling furniture - First time staying at a Premier Inn and we picked this due to the location, being close to Waverley station and the Royal Mile. Location was excellent. We arrived very early and no one was on reception but we found a staff member in the restaurant who thankfully let us stow our luggage until check in. The room was a decent size for a family of 3 and the room was basic (no fridge), the furniture though was peeling, the desk had a large strip of laminate falling off it. The bathroom was clean and the shower had decent pressure, although the whole room steamed up after a short shower.
There wasn't alot of toilet roll left in the room for our two night stay but we did manage to get some when we seen a staff member cleaning another room on our floor.
Found the prices quite high, per Australian standards anyway, but it was one of the cheaper options we found in Edinburgh and it provided us with a good base for a couple of days in the city.
- 952jodyh (10/5): Amazing - This Premier Inn is by far the best one we have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the staff went above and beyond and were so kind. I would like to give a special mention in particular to two members of staff. Firstly, Lisa the chef; she is simply amazing and so easy to talk to. Secondly, Mikayla, she was so warm and bubbly and put us at ease from the moment we walked in.
- raykJ1888TG (2/5): Dont stay here - Would never stay here again. Mold on walls, dirty floor and bathroom, peeling furniture and more. Staff said they would not clean the room since it was late and there were no other rooms available. Offered a free breakfast but we refused due to cleanliness concerns.
- leigh ann (10/5): - It's clean, quiet and right across the street from a ScotRail station. The staff members are incredibly friendly and helpful.
- SteveandLynne (10/5): Ideal base for travelling into Edinburgh centre and lovely staff. - We enjoyed a one night stay at this premier inn as we were attending a wedding in Edinburgh. This is an ideal place to stay if you are planning a trip into Edinburgh, it’s walking distance from the train and is certainly very reasonable priced compared to those hotels in the centre of Edinburgh.
The room we stayed in was spacious and ideal for our stay, did notice it could do with a freshen up but that did not affect our stay.
Staff were all lovely.
The buffet breakfast was very good and plenty of choice, our only criticism would be that the breakfast room is quite small. The lady who was working on her own was absolutely lovely and did a great job seeing to all guests, very professional and friendly,
We would definitely recommend this premier inn and would return.
- JoAnne (8/5): - Just a short walk to bus stop that takes you into the city.
- Philip (8/5): - Close to train station to get to city centre good pub and restaurant close by
- A R Ashiqur (6/5): Good room but terrible customer service - Room was great. Toilet was super clean. Except the people in the reception are super rude.
- ANNE (10/5): - Excellent front desk staff and staff during breakfast. Pleasant during all interactions and seem to like assisting guests.
- Chi Chung (10/5): - Overall is satisfactory
- Chi Chung (10/5): - The room is clean and the staff is very nice.
- shaazata (8/5): Clean room , very comfy bed and friendly receptionists - Have just a lovely overnight stay at this hotel. The receptionist was friendly and welcoming and so helpful in ringing around to find us a taxi on a busy evening. The bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean and the bed was so comfy with the fabulous pillows. The room was a little tired in a couple places e.g. lick of paint needed in bathroom and couple of small holes in curtain. Breakfast was fine . I loved my poached eggs. Just couple of small things such as there was no decaf drink option. As my partner cannot have caffiene this was an issue. Also the breakfast room was a little cramped. As there were only three of us it was not a problem but maybe more of an issue if a group of you wanted to eat together.
I would also recommend that you pop into the adjoining pub the Cuddie Brae. We had couple of drinks in there. Proper pub atmosphere and a very friendly host.
- Carol (8/5): - Very quiet. Close to rail
- MK13AL (4/5): Stay somewhere else! - The poorest Premier Inn we've stayed in. We had room 203 and while the bedroom was ok if in need of a bit of decor, the bathroom was disgraceful, with badly broken and worn skirting board all round, but missing tiles around the bath revealing the cavity wall behind where you could see right into the wall. The hole in the wall was filthy. In addition, we found someone's used finger plaster on the floor.
The corridor outside the room (on second floor) was very noisy when walked on (probably loose floorboards) which disturbed sleep.
There is no restaurant, but a pub next door. The hotel breakfast room is very small and cramped and we saw people being turned away at breakfast. On our first day the food was dreadfully undercooked and virtually inedible. Second day was much better with a different cook but on both days stocks and dishes were not replenished and some people actually had to go into the kitchen area to get dishes.
Good point was that most staff members were really friendly and helpful (and are aware of the issues!) but one girl at breakfast was downright unfriendly.
There are plenty of other Premier Inns in Edinburgh - don't use this one, Lenny Henry wouldn't.
- Sjones58 (10/5): Great staff five stars! - Great location, close to a train station and easy access from the A1.
The staff were ALL excellent and could not have been more helpful.
- luca (10/5): Consigliatissimo - Posizione ottimale per evitare il traffico di Edimburgo. L'autobus si ferma davanti all'albergo e il treno è a 5 minuti a piedi.
Staff gentilissimo e struttura molto ben gestita.
- B496IFalisond (8/5): Convenient and comfortable, a bit tired - Easy parking with good accessibility to park and ride, and retail park just up the road too. Room was clean and spacious, bed excellent and felt clean. Bathroom was very tired. Felt very overpriced, but price probably reflects demand (festival and marathon events). Was fine for a night. A bit of noise from guests at the adjoined cuddie brae pub.
- sunnysnm (10/5): Very friendly and nice reception staff & nice location - Very friendly and nice reception staff especially Courtney was standout took her time and prepared a list of local & nearby tourist spots for us. Hotel location is perfect too nestled in the mountains nice view and restaurants nearby. Close to Brecon Beacons & Henrhyd waterfall. Definitely one of the best Premier inns!
- bevmowell (10/5): Great service close to Edinburgh - Great location for visiting Edinburgh. With free parking. Train station across the road. Two stops to Edinburgh. Very helpful staff. Evening meal in pub next door that also had good food. Friendly helpful service. No complaints. Would highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good place for a short visit - Older hotel. Room had a bad smell. In general the hotel can be cleaner and needs an upgrade. Staff are extremely nice and helpful. The location is a 5-minute walk to the train station. The train is a 10-minute ride to the Edinburgh Waverly station which is at the heart of the city.
- Journey575185 (10/5): Premier welcome - Warm welcome, comfortable bed, fantastic value. Left at 4.30 a.m. for running event and the lady on reception was great.
- Gibbsabby (10/5): Great base for exploring the area with a comfy bed guaranteeing a great night's sleep - Lovley clean hotel. Very friendly and welcoming reception staff. Room very clean and a comfy bed. Always good value for money. We did the meal deal and got breakfast and evening meal included. Would advise booking times for meals as the restaurant was quite busy. Sheep in the car park, always amusing when travelling in Wales.
- ConnorHugill5 (10/5): Great experience, nothing to complain about. - Absolutely no complaints at all, from the momentwe walked in to the moment we left nothing was too much of a problem, all staff were great and our rooms and food were nothing to complain about. All in all I have nothing to complain about.
- judithwD622PG (10/5): Fabulous stay - Stayed at Ebbw Vale for Steelhouse Festival. Brilliant location, 5 mins to train station for shuttle bus to venue. Staff were friendly and chatty throughout our stay. Our room was a quad and was a good size, it was clean and tidy and the bed was super comfortable. The free car parking was a plus. You know what you're getting at Premier and Ebbw Vale didn't disappoint.
- 805MAYDAY (8/5): Typical Premier Inn, quiet location. - The hotel is located on industrial estate next to the pub/restaurant. Quiet location. Typical Premier Inn hotel. Reception staff are extremely professional, polite and friendly. I was allocated room 110 on arrival. Room smelt musty. Got my room changed and given room 108. Clean room, comfortable bed. Room looking worn, bathroom needed revamp. Tile grout mouldy, sealant around mirror peeling. TV, kettle tea/coffee etc. Self help Refill in reception. Parking on site free, don't forget to enter vehicle registration in on tablet on arrival or you will be fined. Booked breakfast each day. Worth the price, plenty of choice, hot drinks, juices, ice water, continental and cooked breakfast.
- Thomas (8/5): - My main concern was that the HVAC system was not working well. We were in a bit of a heat wave and the AC was not working very well. Both the quantity & quality of air.
Love that the train station was literally across the street.
- F3845MJjanh (10/5): Ignore the negative reviews - After reading a lot of negative reviews on here we were wary of staying here, but all i can say is the people that wrote the comments either worked for a competitor or were just nasty Trolls. The staff were friendly and chatty, the room was clean and lovely and cool with the air con as it was 34 degrees outside. The food was good and the waiting staff friendly. To anyone thinking of staying here ignore the Trolls and book.
- rogermJ4866FX (10/5): Fantastic welcome from reception - Really friendly customer service. Room are spacious enough for 2 additional beds. Air-con adds a lot to the room especially when it’s hot.
Definite recommend !
- tabbye2017 (10/5): Lovely hotel, very quiet. - Beds were very comfy, shower was very powerful and amazing with shower gel that can be used for hair and hand wash .only bad thing was no transport or taxi available so make sure you don't mind walking.
- huxley7 (2/5): rip off - I have stayed at this hotel several times the last being 22 june 25 on this visit i was asked for my car reg as usual which I gave, then two weeks later I was sent a parking fine for £57.00 if paid within two weeks ,
I checked the web site and noticed you had to enter car details in a tablet in reception this wasn't mentioned at reception and as they had asked for my reg number why did they not mention the tablet?
I won't be staying there again that's for sure.
- FmlyTrav (6/5): Comfortable stay - We stayed here in June. Our rooms were on the second floor. The facilities are basic and decent, comfortable bed, plenty of charging points in the room. The staff were very friendly and it makes a difference.
I had left a few things behind, the staff found them and agreed to send it via self addressed envelope, thank you for that.
- sianhK5505ZE (4/5): A premier inn I wouldn’t recommend - We always stay at Premier inns & rate them highly. We have stayed at this hotel before hence why we chose to go back but probably wouldn’t return after this time around.
We were greeted by a young lady who wasn’t enthusiastic and it felt like we were an annoyance.
We stayed in room 16 on the ground floor, upon opening the door we were hit by the smell of damp. Parts of the carpet were saturated and our sock were wet through after walking around the room without shoes. You cannot open the windows.
The room was clean on the surface but there was a horrendous amount of dust under the bed and bits of rubbish.
Bathroom was clean.
Walking through the hallways you can tell the windows in the rooms can’t be open as the smell in the air was horrific.
I’m sure we had a herd of elephants staying above us as the stomping was unbearable at times.
The food was ok at the adjoining restaurant but some of the staff seem like they really don’t want to be there and left our starter plates for over 20 mins (it wasn’t busy) if I hadn’t asked for them to be cleared I don’t think we would have gotten our mains. The oil needs to be changed as everything friend came out brown and tasting like old oil. Breakfast was ok.
I always recommend premier inn but I wouldn’t recommend this one.
- P895LYwendym (10/5): Great stay - Myself, daughter and friend and her daughter stayed one night on Good Friday. We went on the 4 waterfalls walk and were absolutely drenched and cold when we arrived. Check in was quick and easy and we had rooms next to each other on the ground floor. I didn’t inform them I have mobility issues but it wasn’t an issue. They booked a table at the Brewers Fayre and even though there was a long wait for food because of being busy our meals were great. The brekki in the morning was amazing as well. Letting kids eat free with a paying adult is brilliant and value for money. Definitely stay here again.
- Flackadder (6/5): 3 stars - Room could have been cleaner. Quilt cover without a rip would have been nice too. A few USB sockets would have been a bonus.
Staff were great.
First appearance is key. Clean the car park if all the litter.
No need to pay for a room with a view. Seems like all rooms had a bit of a view.
- Tina3cats (10/5): Amazing - Stayed at this hotel now at least 9 times. Just where we need it for Tredegar. Staff are always friendly and polite and helpful. Excellent security. Great pub nxt door to eat and drink and serves up breakfast can get extremely busy between 5-7pm and 9-10.30am but staff never complain just rush around to help
- PhilD7391 (10/5): Excellent service - We stayed for 2 nights for our silver wedding anniversary Staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble with our anniversary clashes with Valentine’s Day we were have trouble finding food with most places booked up the two lovely ladies on reception were ringing around trying to find us somewhere which they managed to do we had a lovely evening out and on our return we found 2 small bottles of wine an anniversary card and some posh biscuits waiting for us
- Dukesy12345 (2/5): Room with a view, nope 👎 - Sorry prem inn Ebbw Vale about review. The room was adequate for what I needed. I don’t usually do add onns but I paid extra for a room with a view, checked in they said ground floor room 12, seriously you would think I would be top floor just to appreciate some sort of a view adleast. Got to room looked out window, office block with 3 big red wheelie/dumpster bins as my view
- compsd (10/5): Faultless - Lovely friendly attentive staff, room clean facilities fine bed VERY firm known quality of their renowned matress but had a good night sleep as all quiet due to setting location peaceful.
One minor critisism is toilet flush needs a very strong push, I think by design and not a fault but maybe too much an effort for some.
Ideal for trips into Cardiff by train as station a very short walk away.
Be aware other than the parter Brewers fayre resturant there is nothing in walking distance in the way of shops or restaurants.
- 271soniah (10/5): A Little Gem. - We really chose this Premier Inn for convenience of its location. We were in Wales for a family funeral and we wanted the reliability of Premier Inn. You know what you're getting.
It is very handy for the major routes and plenty of parking and price was excellent.
And we had a great stay. The room was very clean and the bed was really comfortable.
The staff were lovely. Couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful.
We hadn't booked breakfast but they made room for us and had a good selection of hot and cold food.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this one.
