Guest Reviews
- Manodeldios (10/5): Great location. Clean. Modern. Well equipped rooms. Comfy bed! - Work visit to Leeds. The hotel is ideally located with discounted (£12 for 24h) car parking and few mins walk away. I had a family room which was huge for one person. The room is clean and well equipped (kettle/coffee/tea/milk) Bayliss and Harding hand soap and shower gel.
Hotel very clean.
Bed super comfortable.
Easy self check in.
- JimHarperAussie (10/5): Great Value, Great Location – Exactly What You Expect from Premier Inn - We stayed at the Premier Inn in Leeds city centre and had a really good experience. With Premier Inn you always know what you’re getting – clean rooms, comfy beds and excellent value – and this hotel is exactly that.
The location is perfect if you’re planning to explore the city. It’s an easy walk to the shops, bars and restaurants, and ideal if you’re heading to a gig at Leeds Arena.
Breakfast is another highlight. The all-you-can-eat cooked and continental buffet always sets us up for the day, with plenty of choice and everything refreshed regularly.
Reliable, affordable and in a great spot – ideal for a city break or overnight stay in Leeds.
- JULIETH411 (10/5): Great location great value - Great location right on High street close to shops and restaurants.
Friendly staff.
Spotlessly clean and very warm and comfortable.
- natashacK3257ZH (10/5): Amazing - Receptionist Ellis was amazing nothing was too much to ask. Very welcoming environment. Spotless clean. Very comfy beds.
- janinedA7546NU (2/5): DIRT COMING UP OUT OF THE SHOWER TRAY - PERMIER IN DO NOT CARE - DO not stay at this hotel.
I paid for a room upgrade and when I woke in the morning I had a shower and the shower tray was full of other peoples dirt it was totally blocked. The sink was blocked and they were fully aware of this as they closed the plug the smell when opened was disgusting.
I complained because they have a form but this was their reply (even though you can't report something instantly when you are in the shower !
We do advise guests to report any issues to reception as soon as the incidents occur as our reception team would've been able to resolve these issues. Please note that there is a buzzer located at reception which can alert our team of your presence. The reception's number is also listed on the back of the key card, on our website and the confirmation email for your booking. As you didn't report any issues with the room, you did not give our team the opportunity to try and rectify this problem and so we can only apologise for the experience you had while staying with us.
It seems this is a standard get out clause for them.
I will charge back and never use Premier Inn again as the last few times now the hotels have been more like Hostels !
- Gallon123 (6/5): Disappointing - It was ok nothing special as improvements were ongoing to the bar area, we couldn't have a drink or eat at the Hotel. We had booked this month's in advance for a show. Complimentary breakfast of coffee and croissants wasn't great. The shower was ok and bed comfortable the hot water to wash your hands was slow and like warm, the heating in the room was just about bearable.
- Z9226SGmikeb (10/5): Lovely stay - Right in the centre lovely room hotel good shower . Very big bed would stay again and was good price . Weather let it down poured down all day but still hotel was great
- Peach1038 (10/5): Great value, location, clean and quiet rooms - I initially booked this via booking dot com as I wanted good value and clean and felt you can always trust a premier inn for that.
The area surrounding the hotel seems to have a lot of Turkish kebab shops and barbers. One night we needed a quick bite locally and you don’t have to go far at all.
Just a 15 min walk to The Dom/ cathedral. It’s right by a train station though we never used this. £36 in an uber to and from the airport
Rooms aren’t serviced as standard, you have to request
The room was absolutely huge, like Suite though I’m sure I paid for just a double room. Shower was great, there were numerous plug points, mattress was good
We did not eat breakfast here as we’d come to sample the food Cologne has to offer so I can’t comment. Lots of cafes and pastry shops and great coffee around.
- HelenKilner2 (10/5): Best night's sleep ever - Friendly hotel. Polite staff who were very helpful. Comfortable bed and great room. Best nights sleep ever. Very quiet. Had a hospital appointment so was ideal for getting there and then an eatly night.
- 428melanies (10/5): Great stay - Fantastic stay, immaculately clean, black out curtains were amazing bed so comfortable. Shame we only stayed one night. Across the road from the arena.
- lindawM5935CO (10/5): First solo holiday @ 72 yrs old - Room was wonderful, clean and bed was so comfy. Will be back. Staff were helpful area perfect . Was one slight problem no mat for shower and no grab rails so couldn't use shower as I am disabled, by time found out about shower mat I was going home.
- RichR531 (4/5): Pretty dire - The best thing about our 2 night stay was the room was clean and very comfortable (which is why I have given a 2 star review.
When we arrived there was not one at reception and we waited along with another guest for at least 5 minutes. One she appeared the receptionist was polite and friendly. She was one of the exceptions as other than the breakfast restaurant staff we found the rest of the staff completely uninterested and couldn't even be bothered to greet you with a good morning.
Don't be fooled by the free wifi which is so slow it is absolutely useless. It took be 2 minutes to download 3 emails and the bet speed I obtained was 0.7mbps which is not fit for purpose.
As hotel guests we went to the hotel restaurant for an evening meal but as we hadn't booked we could not get a table even though the restaurant was nowhere near full. When the staff member went to ask the manager if he could give us a table the manager just shrugged, gave a dismissive wave of his arm and couldn't even be bothered to speak to us. We had an excellent meal at an Italian restaurant up the road and when we returned to the hotel the restaurant still had empty tables.
When we went to checkout there was no one at reception again. An alarm went off but no one appeared and after nearly 10 minutes we went outside to wait for out taxi just to get away from the noise of the alarm.
In the past I have generally found the Premier Inn chain good value for money but not on this occasion.
- rovermac (10/5): Enjoyable stay - For a short stay in Leamington Spa, the Premier Inn is ideal. It is close to shops, cafes and restaurants and also to the pump room and park and gardens. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we also enjoyed the reasonably priced breakfast.
- myrababes (6/5): Average at best - Second visit here and it has really went down hill however they are in the middle of a refurb of bar/ restaurant which was badly needed . Hopefully this will help . Anyway we were at an event at st the first direct arena so through work they had booked 14 rooms . Arriving at 4pm 3 of the rooms not quite ready , the virtual check in was broken ( along with one of the lifts ) so a queue out the door to start with
My room had an actual musty smell in it ( accessible room) which was not nice .
The bed was comfy and everything there that you needed , well except fridge which they don’t provide
Now the breakfast!!! We knew the restaurant would be closed however we were told there would still be provisions . So tea: coffee , fruit and stale croissants 🥐. Not good at all . We crossed the road t Wetherspoons to get our breakfast so overall not the best stay . Other than the location to the arena
- GetawaysTogether (8/5): A little disappointed 😞 - The location of the hotel was great. The room was not so good this time. It was not easy to access as although it was on the 2nd floor it was only accessible by a flight of stairs from the first floor! My husband has bad knees so it wasn't great 😕
There were no staff available at the desk to speak to and noone responded to the bell!
The room was very small and we had nowhere to put our bags really! We also only had one set of towels in the bathroom. It seemed to be a single person's room for the 2 of us! Glad it was only 1 night really!
- Miss_Didee (10/5): Great second trip - Second time staying here upon a visit to Leamington Spa and just as good as our first visit!
Lovely and welcoming staff when we got here check in was quick and easy. Room was good, fantastic sized bathroom and shower good. Bed very comfy too although a bit high off the floor and wish the air con was better as I was really hot in the night.
All of that said that’s just my opinion.
This is a great hotel in a fantastic location to explore all that Leamington Spa has to offer and will return here again when we come back again in the future.
- A7296HTchristinas (10/5): Hotel stay - Stayed at the premier inn while going to Leeds areana for a concert with my daughter, I found it very clean and comfortable ,the room was quite spacious , I would stay here or any other again.
- W1654HDjanem (10/5): Excellent Clean rooms with great breakfast - Excellent location for Leeds arena. Very much better than expected. Premier inn has upped its game. Clean spacious room with large shower room, usb ports next to large comfy bed. All in all excellent
- DerbyshireAlana (8/5): Pillows really hard - Didn’t sleep very well pillows very hard. Spare ones supposed to be soft but they too were hard, plus the pillow cases were dirty. Went to the receptionist but wasn’t very helpful” if you haven’t got any therefore you haven’t got any “ very attentive ???
- loreenm2023 (10/5): Purple Velvet Hangers - Premier inn clay pit lane is a good branch its convenient but pushed backed opposite first bank direct Arena with lots of walking cycling and jogging but still very close to shop trains buses etc…
- philjG8920LQ (10/5): Perfect hotel for a concert - Absolutely brilliant stay. So easy for the arena. Staff are friendly and polite. Room was perfect, from the size of the room to the comfort of the bed. Definitely would stay here again without a doubt.
- MontyW100 (6/5): Staff shortage - Good room, and easy check in. No parking. For a Saturday night there was a surprisingly shortage of staff. One person working at bar and restaurant. I was told to wait for 30 minutes before anyone would even take my order. We went somewhere else
- K5468UHlindsayl (10/5): Premier perfect (almost) - Great hotel
Friendly and helpful staff
Location is perfect.
Serve coffee after 9pm which is a dream and rare as most hotels don't.
Everything is very simple at premier inns which makes life easier.
The only thing they dont do is offer food between 12pm and 5pm so we were unable to eat there before the concert at 6pm and had to go into Leeds town and get some food. Think they are missing a trick here too.
But overall great hotel. Been a few times and its always nice and easy.
- R2944KWcraigc (10/5): Great central location - Great central location 5kins walk to the main shopping area, food and drinks places within a two min walk. Lovely hotel, clean and cosy. Great value for money.
- Tony (10/5): - The best Premier Inn I have stayed in to date.Amazing staff.
- Valchee (10/5): good location, clean and comfortable. What's not to like? - Excellent, quiet, comfortable room with a good bathroom. I especially appreciated the dressing table station with hairdryer, mirror and light.
- davidcO4572GC (8/5): Brief stay - Good service from friendly staff and meals were fine. Parking and access was good. Positioning of the hotel was good and offered a peaceful stay.
- watson42 (6/5): Felt insulted - After a pleasant day in leamington. Book in 3pm.arrived at 2.45 pm 15 minutes early, told room ready, but if use it £15 charge.WHAT..or sit and wait.great customer service.
First time I have felt like a cash cow.
ROOM WAS NICE
- ames40 (6/5): Staying in this premier in with friends discovered bar was not open 1st night so ok but was very disappointed that the 2nd night - Staying in this premier inn with friends lovely hotel however very disappointed as the bar was not open so this is the 2nd night in a row not good enough as you wanna get dressed have a few drinks at bar then go out for food.
- dawnlissan (6/5): Poor no bar services - Hotel fine - nice big comfortable rooms
HOWEVER… unacceptable to be told no bar available for 2nd day in a row
Not good enough that a Junior staff member was left to explain something about staff shortages
- Beanie2nine (10/5): Smart, New Evolution family room - Perhaps my favourite Premier Inn so far. I guess it was the ‘New Evolution’ upgrade but it was certainly smart and the family room was a good size and laid out well. Happy that the bath/shower now has a proper glass splash cover so no more wet floor.
- Parsnipyumyum (8/5): A good town-centre hotel - The Premier Inn is in an excellent town-centre location but the nearest parking is a walk round the back and is now very expensive for 24 hour parking. The room was large, clean, well laid out and quite well equipped for a short stay. The bed was big and good, the shower very good but the room thermostat was a little temperamental. We had breakfast and that was convenient and good.
- V4186ILstephenc (10/5): Simply The Best - Staff excellent. Rooms great. Location amazing for bars, restaurants, shops. If you have a blue badge you can park outside. Limited spaces. Julia in restaurant and Ellis in reception so good.
- MaryD_10 (4/5): Dreadful noise from a machine - Stayed in room 137. Dreadful humming noise all day and night from some sort of industrial machine right outside the room.
Television could hardly be heard as preset to 15.
When we asked for the code so that we could bring up the sound - mainly to drown out the dreadful noise - we were basically told no one, not even the manager, knew what the code was.
The first lady we spoke to told us they had never had anyone else complain about the noise - I suggested she read Trip Adviser reviews as it was mentioned on there.
Really the most uncomfortable stay we have ever had at a Premier Inn and what was worse than the constant droning sound was the fact that staff didn’t seem to care.
- dusanqoo (10/5): Perfect location - The stay at Leeds arena was amazing and stuff they were excellent!! Really good location next to Direct arena leeds.
I do recommend for perfect accommodation, leisure, and good sleep.
- 398bim (10/5): New rooms - Great stay during my work trip. Good location, quiet room and friendly staff. I had no issues, but saw staff helping other people
- kmcd586 (10/5): Excellent Premier Inn - Very friendly & helpful staff. Lovely room - super clean. Great location. One of the best premier inns I’ve stayed in. Recommend!
- Siprego (10/5): Perfect stay fab breakfast - Absolutely pristine clean, staff really friendly. Had a fantastic stay for Warwickshire pride and of course Bowls England. First night at 3am fire alarm went off so had to run outside wasn’t a problem quite funny it was false alarm.
- abbiem1405 (10/5): leisure stay - amazing hotel, staff were friendly. very clean and tidy lobby and rooms. beds comfortable. great location, shops nearby and right opposite the arena.
- Not_Mrs_Gary_Barlow (10/5): Excellent stay - Excellent stay. Staff very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Food great in the evening and breakfast. Rooms clean, comfortable and air conditioned. Will be back!
- ramabham73 (4/5): Reservation not honored and unfriendly service - I made a reservation via Booking.com for 10 people (8 adults, 2 children aged 13 and 11). The system advised booking 4 × triple rooms, which I did. To my surprise, Premier Inn Köln City Mediapark completely ignored this and decided on their own which rooms we would get: 2 × double rooms and 2 × triple rooms.
When I mentioned this at the reception, I was given an extra room in an unfriendly manner. I even showed the key to one of the double rooms and asked if it could be returned, but this was refused. Later that evening, that same room was suddenly blocked in the system with the excuse that “the system” had done it. As a result, my son had to remove his belongings from the room.
According to the staff member, she did not charge for the extra room “as a courtesy.” When I addressed the issue, she gave a weak excuse about stress, broken elevators, and personal problems. This was delivered in an irritated tone, along with the remark that I should be happy I didn’t have to pay for the extra room.
- Glenda (8/5): - Surprisingly very quiet in the room. Rooms have air conditioning but you have to park your car on street.
- petereA923EL (10/5): Amazing Staff. - Superb central local and staff were so supportive and helpful. I was staying with my wife for our 22nd Wedding Anniversary.
From the moment we first arrived Ellis and his team went the extra mile to make us feel very special.
Massive thank you to all the staff.
We go away to different locations each year and the service we received here was better than ever, and we have stayed in some prestigious hotel around the country!
Thank you for making such a big effort to make our Anniversary so enjoyable and memorable. 😁😃
- JaneE531 (10/5): Already booked to stay again!! - We enjoyed our stay so much, we booked our next stay while we were still there!!
The hotel is perfectly located to explore the many lovely restaurants and shops. Ellis and his Team work very hard to provide 1st class service.
The room was very quiet and comfortable. We slept very well. Breakfast was excellent.
Cannot fault this hotel and would recommend to anyone.
- Kanelbullar (10/5): Nice reassuring premier Inn - Two main tips- there is a great pizza place just next to "Mr Baker" and a really handy launderette opposite. (Also opposite the sex shop, but we won't talk about that...)
A short walk from the Hauptbahnhof, this premier inn is fab. Friendly staff, standard premier inn, with a clean room, good breakfast etc. Set in an historical building, you can see the paternoster lift, but not use it, sadly.
- KirstyW1242 (10/5): “Exceptional Service and Perfect for Families” - I recently stayed at the Premier Inn in Leamington Spa, and from start to finish, the experience was exceptional. Prior to arrival, I contacted the hotel as we arrived earlier than expected, and the staff member I spoke with was absolutely delightful. She confirmed our room was ready and welcomed us warmly upon arrival, making my children feel at ease immediately.
During our first night, our toddler became unwell, and the housekeeping team responded swiftly and graciously, providing fresh bedding without hesitation. The following day, while exploring the beautiful Jephson Gardens, my son had a minor accident and required first aid. My other child ran back to the hotel for assistance, and the staff kindly provided wipes and plasters to help us manage the situation. Their genuine care and willingness to help really stood out.
At breakfast, we mentioned that our eldest son is autistic, and the lady serving was wonderfully accommodating, immediately offering to seat us in a quieter area to make him more comfortable. The breakfast itself was excellent – the food was hot, well-cooked, and everything was fresh and easy to access, which made the experience smooth and stress-free for our family.
Throughout our stay, the hotel maintained an excellent standard of cleanliness and was perfectly located for exploring the town. Despite having two adults and three children in one room, it felt spacious and comfortable.
I can confidently say the level of service we received at this Premier Inn was outstanding. The staff went above and beyond at every opportunity, and I would not hesitate to return.
- Todd (6/5): - Bathroom stunk of cigarette smoke.
- Nathan B (10/5): - Great property, not very good for parking/unloading but other then that, Excellent.
- Prashant (2/5): Poor - Non cooperation regarding cancellation if one room due to medical emergency
- Road59377346008 (2/5): Refused Refund Despite Proof of Payment - I do not recommend this hotel. The staff is extremely rude and unhelpful. I was charged twice for breakfast, and when I was checking out, they assured me I would receive a refund to my card. After three weeks, they finally responded but are now refusing to refund the money, even though I have provided them with the official payment confirmation from my bank. This is unacceptable customer service, and I would not stay here again.
- Sabros (10/5): Excellent and comfortable Premier Inn - From the moment we arrived in the sweltering 30°C heat to the moment we left, we were thoroughly impressed with the quality and standard of our stay.
A special mention must go to Vicky on reception, who was an absolute credit to Premier Inn. From the outset, she went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable — particularly thoughtful during the mini heatwave, offering us a regular supply of fresh cold water and checking in to see if we needed anything. Her warm, professional, and attentive manner truly made a difference to our experience.
The rooms were exceptionally spacious — more than enough room for our family of four — and extremely comfortable. We also had breakfast on one of the mornings, which was delicious and well worth it.
As for the location, we didn’t find it to be an issue at all. Everything we needed was within a 10 to 15-minute walk, with plenty of restaurants and shops close by.
We would absolutely recommend this hotel for a short break in the beautiful city of Cologne.
- nicolalD2473CT (6/5): 20 - 23rd Dec 2024 - We booked this hotel back in the Spring for our Christmas market visit. If you want to travel around by train, this hotel is perfectly located as it's moments away from Hansaring train station.
The hotel - we stayed for 3 nights and only saw 5 staff members throughout our entire stay. Thankfully, our stay was without issue but, had it been, we'd have struggled to get anyone to help, as the one staff member on Reception at any one time was always dealing with a huge queue! Easy to orderva taxi from.the hotel.
Room - family room. Room was clean and spacious, beds comfy and towels a-plenty. TV only had Sky news in English so perhaps they could invest in a smart TV which offers subtitles, or invest in Netflix. The shower head didn't stay up but my hair band did the trick!
Breakfast- breads, pastries, hams, cheese, sausages, bacon, eggs (scrambled and boiled) and beans, fruit, yoghurt and cereal. Coffee machine coffees and tea leaves in a selection of flavours for tea. Lots of tables, which were cleared and made available very quickly, and the loveliest lady staff member doing the clearing!
NO BAR AND NO FOOD ORDERING SERVICE AT ALL - Although, there was a sign saying that this was due to staff shortages.
Area - interesting. Moments away from the station, lots of graffiti which I liked, clean streets, a fair amount of siren noise and so many kebab shops, although a sign did say we were in the Iranian area, and a couple of burger bars. We didn't feel overly safe walking around in the evenings and, had I been on my own, I'd have felt very intimidated and scared and I'm originally from London! As such, we'd not stay in this area again. But, we did eat at the most amazing Thai restaurant! Sadly, can't remember the name but it was delicious!
- 963caprices (2/5): Quite literally a rubbish stay. - Convenient for train station and near to main attractions in Cologne.
Unfortunately room has not been cleaned throughout our stay, we were told it would be cleaned on day 3. Its now day 4 and I'm being promised tomorrow (day 5). There is a huge pile of rubbish in our room which is causing odour. This must be a risk for pests if the problem is hotel wide. There is nowhere for us to dispose of rubbish except street bins which is not acceptable.
We have to queue up at reception to ask for towels, toilet roll, coffees every day. There's no clean glasses or cups, we just have to rinse them in the bathroom basin.
We reported a problem with the safe on Tuesday. Was promised an engineer to come, they never did. Reported the issue on Wednesday, still no engineer arrived despite assurances. I emailed the hotel and head office, still no engineer. I have again reported it again this evening, but what is the point we check out on Saturday thank god.
Overall, this isn't a hotel, it's a joke. Give it a miss.
- gingentonic (10/5): Modern roomy hotel - I'm familiar with the Premier Inn brand in the UK, so when I needed to book a family-friendly hotel in Cologne I thought I'd have a look. It was one of the busiest weekends of the summer, due to a games convention, but the rates were still pretty good. The rooms were quite roomy, very clean and well kept, and the staff were helpful and attentive. When we arrived, we found that although we had booked a three-person family room, the spare bed was not made up. However, we reported this immediately, and the extra bed was made up straight away without any fuss.
One slight criticism is the breakfast, some was good, other parts less so, but it was fine. I wouldn't necessarily book breakfast ahead; I'd advise you to try one morning and see what you think. There are a few coffee bars in the neighbourhood, so other choices are available. It's about a 15 minute walk to the Hauptbahnhof, and the Hansaring railway station and U-Bahn is adjacent to the hotel, with transport links across the city and beyond.
The hotel itself has an interesting history. Built in 1924, and with 17 floors, the building was one of the first skyscrapers in Germany. It has a paternoster lift that is still working, though not open to the public.
Overall it was a great, well priced hotel. I would recommend!
