Guest Reviews
- masterofninja (10/5): Great location and service - Great location near London Bridge, but good value as well. Is a quaint hotel, fitting in with the architecture. Handy to get to the South Bank area, but also near to London Bridge and Waterloo to get around London. Like all Premier Inns very high standard of bed that you can expect at all hotels. Comfortable. Would recommend.
- wild_travels_xox (10/5): Excellent customer service - Brilliant staff who went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and safe. A special mention to Chris who was fantastic and made my experience checking in excellent. He explained the policies around how they ensure solo travellers (in particular female guests) feel safe and what he makes sure is put into practice for people staying at the hotel. He couldn't have been more knowledgeable and reassuring. He clearly really cares about the customers experience and safety at the hotel. What a fantastic person to be in that role and representing your company. Thank you again.
- shirleyanncaldwell (8/5): Overnight stay - Great value for money. Excellent breakfast. Would definitely stay again. Good location. We had a lovely time. Only critism was there was one person on the desk at check in time. Which took ages to do. He was very nice, but could have done with an extra staff member.
- MarkP1203 (10/5): Great stay at Southport Premier Inn - Staff were 1st class polite, friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel had a very friendly atmosphere, our room was super clean and very comfortable. 100% value for money. Breakfast was in another level, we've done a few buffet breakfast and they've been poor to say the least, however Southport premier inn was fantastic. Staff were very good keeping a steady supply of fresh items. Excellent
- natalierG257LB (10/5): Great location - Great location, right next to borough market. Staff very accommodating and polite. Clean room, as always at prem inn. Early morning delivery lorries woke my partner but I slept through!!
- 724MatthewS (10/5): great value for money stay - downstairs had a lovely atmosphere and we were made very welcomed by the staff who were excellent throughout, especially Chris who went above and beyond for us
- watsonguy (8/5): Weekend break - Staff were very helpful and polite. Ate in the restaurant when we arrived and breakfast following morning.
Perhaps check rooms more regularly as light over sink and extractor not working
- janicejA3975ER (10/5): A very enjoyable stay. - We had a very enjoyable stay. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. The 3 rooms we had were all clean and the beds were very comfortable. We all had a good night's sleep followed by a very tasty breakfast. Free parking on site.
- M4351XBmartinm (4/5): Staff need training - I chose to stay at a premier inn because they have in the past always done what it promises to do but this occasion was poor most staff couldn't be bothered and when I asked the chambermaid for clean cups I was waved away like a piece of dirt because she was too busy having a chat on the phone
- kingycha (8/5): Know what you're getting - The hotel is in a great location, with paid car parking just behind it. Not a long walk into the heart of the centre. Breakfast was very good. Staff were friendly. The corridor on my floor did have an unpleasant smell but that's the only negative I could think of.
- W6632VVdaveb (10/5): A hotel close to the centre of Southampton - We stay at the premier inn Cumberland Place hotel everytime we visit from Plymouth, which is about five to six times a year. The hotel is always clean and well kept and the staff are always very professional and willing to help with any issues particularly Chris who has been very helpful on several occasions.
- stephenkH9061HJ (10/5): Excellent hotel, great service, food superb. - Excellent stay, great value, atmosphere, and a lovely room. Short walk from the town centre. The evening meal was sensational (med sea bass), and the restaurant service was superb, special thanks to my waiter Europ who was extra helpful and friendly.
- P3456789 (10/5): Great Hotel, Top Marks. - We stayed here for one night and it was perfect. Easy parking in a multi-storey car park just around the corner. Quick self check in service, there was a young lady there to help. Our room was very clean and spacious and nice and quiet. The restaurant in the ground floor was excellent. Plenty of seating, we had the meal deal for breakfast and dinner at a very good price, so much choice and the food was lovely. We cannot say enough positive things about this hotel.
- elainelD8216VP (8/5): Good value for money - Everything was ok so much rubbish out the front no shelter for smokers and the bathroom was dirty hair in the sink around the taps but the staff are so nice
- emmawL8667YS (8/5): A good hotel in a great location for central Southampton. - I stayed with a large group of friends (we all booked out our own rooms). The stay went without a hitch, it was a great location for where we wanted to be. My room layout was a bit whacky compared to other premiers I've stayed in, but that's not really an issue.
My only issue was that I had late check-out (for 12pm) and my room key was de-activated whilst I was in the middle of taking my things to my car, at 1125, so way before actual checkout time, and I couldn't access the hotel or my room. I've never had this happen with regular checkout at 10am so I'm putting it down to this being a fairly new system, and luckily I had only a few more things to grab, so one more trip and I was done, but I wasn't very impressed that my key was de-activated before I was ready to leave, and before my checkout time, but it wasn't enough to ruin the experience.
All in all, it was a great trip!
- 411charleyt (8/5): Yeah comfy - Came here and was simple check in, clean, comfy, only issue was the second card was not linked to the room so we couldn’t get in with that card which was annoying!
- Y3040LFdianar (10/5): Great value - Excellent stay have been several times never disappointed would recommend
Staying again in December looking forward to the lovely shower
- bharghavp2023 (6/5): 6 out of 10 - Location :- the hotel is located on the main road with no parking. Although theres two car parks at the back of the hotel where you park. Also on street parking is available.
Staff :- The young girl on the main reception was on her phone when I checked in. Literally waited for like a good 1 min for her to realise I was there. Checked in and straight to the room.
Room :- Room wasn't too bad. Pretty clean. Everything was in place. Edge of the main table peeling off ( see attached pictures ).
Restaurant/ food - the restaurant is located on the ground floor next to the main reception. About 20 odd tables available. Foodwise opted in for the Veg Gyoza for starters and the Chicken Curry with a side of naan bread for the mains. The gyoza was a bit on the soggy side but couldn't fault the main dish. See attached pictures.
- ericsZ8319ZN (10/5): A pleasant weekend in Southampton - I stayed in this Premier Inn for two nights for the football. Definitely the best Premier Inn that I have stayed in for a while. All the staff that I came across were excellent but especially well done to Chris who was everywhere, reception, bar, restaurant and could not have been more helpful to anyone and everyone that he came across. I will be back.
- VictoriaW2269 (10/5): Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Southport. - We always stay at the Premier Inn when we visit Southport. We have been going at least once a year, sometimes twice with our children for 10 years now. Premier Inn beds are the absolute best, the hotel is clean, the staff are very pleasant & overall it is just an easy, convenient & wonderful expericence.
- philhL9577DD (10/5): Great for the price. - Check in staff were lovely and helpful. Bedroom was lovely and had the best nights sleep ever, bed was super comfy and the pillows were soft and plush. Would definitely stay here again.
- potty21 (8/5): Night away with granddaughter and friend. - The staff were very welcoming on arrival.
Help with our enquiries.
Room was very clean and tidy.
Started washing my face and a bit of wood fell on my foot made me swear.
Dinner the kids meals they loved.
Can't go wrong with pizza.
I had fish and chips and peas.
Well what can I say chips cold peas like rock and the fish well had more smell then Grimsby docks and was so greasy. I did complain and got offered a dessert which I dont do.
So please stay away from fish at moment im sat on the loo.
- valeriesJ7091GV (10/5): All you would expect from a premier inn - Lovely comfy beds ! nice fluffy towels ! Room spotless short stroll to city centre. Chris in the restaurant very efficient and helpful. Overall a lovely break.
- E8074DJlees (10/5): Manni & Urope! - Mani and Urope are the best. Their service was unbelievable, honestly the service mixed with their amazing humour and ability to please the guest whilst also delivering an amazing experience. Hats off to them honestly. I'm here every Wednesday and I want them to be recognised for their efforts when I come here next week!
- 793mandyb (10/5): Spotless - Stopped in this hotel on our way for a weekend in Liverpool and what a great choice we made...hotel in good location with a big carpark next to shops, restaurants and cinema with a brewersfair adjoining....we had 2 rooms for 3 adults next door to each other..the rooms were warm and cosy with clean crisp bedding and towels and the bathroom was spotless with handsoap and shower gel provided...there is a large fan in the room if you get hot...The Brewersfair next door is where you go for your breakfast and evening meal we had both and both meals were excellent especially breakfast with so much choice ...The staff at the hotel and restaurant were very polite and welcoming and we really enjoyed our stay...keep it up premier inn,you have it just right ...
- Tour303746 (10/5): A great stay - Great hotel, we visited with our two teenage kids.
Location is excellent, in a really lively area but it was so peaceful & quiet at night, we all slept great as the beds in our family room were so comfy.
The girl on reception on Sunday morning was so friendly, and the chef on breakfast was also very accommodating.
A great trip!
- Compass594270 (6/5): Shabby and understaffed. - Return visit. Great central location. Option to leave a bag before check-in is always appreciated. Check-in was VERY busy and had to wait ages - actually standing outside in the rain!!!!! as the small reception lobby was packed and only one person on duty. Staff are friendly and helpful but obviously stretched and overworked. The beds are comfy and rooms just about clean enough, but communal areas are shabby and grotty. Feels like too much to pay for shabby, grotty, worn-out and understaffed. Premier Inn needs to do better.
- 858joannah (10/5): Clean, comfortable rooms - Had a lovely time with a warm welcome. Nice clean rooms in a central location. Good choice of food options and a great value breakfast. Special thanks to Chris for looking after us at the bar!
- bigbillybobNewYork1 (8/5): Ok for an overnight - Room was ok. Rooms only serviced if you ask at reception. Replacement towels available at reception along with extra coffee and milk sachets. Basic Wifi wasn’t great despite being told it had only recently been upgraded. Was very surprised to see rats scampering into the shrubs at the front of the hotel but now understand there is a rat problem in the area.
- jemmelr2024 (2/5): Absolute 0 stars am sorry they scam you on the internet block signal getting to your phone trust me horrible they are - Absolute 0 stars they scam you on the internet block signal getting to your phone trust me horrible they are and I have tried literally outside the hotel and everything is fine and I have 5 different esims in my phone as I travel around the world and they stop me from contacting the outside world just for premier inn financial gain it sould be illegal what they are doing I may contact citizens advice and find out away of bringing this issue to light as pleople need to be able to contact there family and so on in case of a emergency and there’s no phones in the rooms so you would be in serous trouble if you needed medical help
- carolinedZ3507AE (8/5): Comfortable, friendly staff, very busy due to cruise port and theatre nearby so book for food in advance. - Easy to get to, rooms clean, staff friendly. Very busy on the Friday night when we arrived for a table at 8pm for dinner. Although slow, Chris our server was excellent, very helpful attentive and even apologetic for the long wait. He was very kind to inform us of the meal offer, although he seemed to be the only staff member running around he was always right in hand to help us. Breakfast was very nice, very well organised and the chef was very friendly. Would stay again
- 228gordonc (10/5): The service as first class - The staff where exceptionally helpful and the service was excellent. No hesitation in recommending a stay at this Premiere Inn.
- Daniel (8/5): - Staff were extremely helpful. Location was convenient. Rooms were comfortable.
- jennifer (2/5): - Hotel staff was very nice but very old building with no air-conditioning bad amenities no parking even though they say there is parking
- V8183OKsusanb (10/5): Nice stay - Hotel was clean and comfortable, lots of extra disabled parking bays since I last stayed there, which is a necessary improvement.
Breakfast was good with plenty variety
- CherylJ1091 (10/5): Lovely atmosphere - Friendly staff. Lovely and clean. Comfortable stay. Took my Daughter and Grandson for a short break fir my Grandsons birthday. He had a great time. As did we all.
- Filiberto (10/5): - It’s a great spot that can lead you to different attractions and transportation. There’s gift shops nearby and restaurants. The staff is friendly and the room was very clean. I would return to this hotel for my future trip to London.
- ronmK6378NF (10/5): Very nice surprisingly quiet - Short walk from London Bridge and Borough market.
Sat next to an historic pub called the anchor overlooking the river .
Plenty in the area to see and do such as “the golden hind ship” The Shard etc.
Lots of nice eateries all over and some fantastic sea food stalls in Borough Market.
Hotel itself is nice and clean and we had some chocolate left on bed with a nice postcard (never had that before) reception guy was quick efficient and friendly and check in smooth , I still hate the fact that you get packs of Nescafé coffee and pg tips tea in premier inns maybe use Yorkshire tea and nicer coffee -no bottles water either .
Tip-ask for third floor as we are on floor one and noise people walking around above is quite loud .
Definitely stay again for location
If you like Indian food book the Shad Indian which is near although bit pricey the food is excellent as is the service.
Overall a lovely stay
- karasolarl (10/5): Fantastic Staff - I arrived at this Hotel, without a booking, and it has been one of the most stressful days ever. I was almost in tears; I was so exhausted. The staff there could not have been more helpful, kind and thoughtful. They got to be booked in and settled down with speed and grace. I was extremely grateful. My room was at the back of the hotel, it was quiet. The room was well-equipped and clean. Many thanks to the staff there.
- P6248BCpama (10/5): Excellent stay - We loved our stay, check-in is straightforward and the lovely girl on reception recommended an excellent Thai restaurant in walking distance. The room was very comfortable, it was quiet so we slept well. and the bathroom was spacious. Good that check out time is 12 noon too so you don't feel rushed.
- Brian (10/5): - Very friendly staff. Great location for access to transport and food.
- Stacey (10/5): - The location was perfect for our trip. We were close to the tube and steps away from Borough market. Loved being right on the Thames.
- paulaK1679JU (6/5): Short break - Good value comfy bed but room very warm opened window and used the fan.
Good reception easy check in , easy parking outside hotel
- Z8395TQsandrah (8/5): Vermin - Well been coming for short breaks here for years but was more than alarmed with the rats 🐀 running around the hotel into bushes underneath hotel windows. I saw at least 6 rats over two days. I reported to staff who said there is a problem. This spoiled my break and couldntbwait to come home.
- Rutwa (10/5): - Great location , close to everything
Colazione ben assortita. Lo consiglio!
- stephogrunt (6/5): Prepare to be hot in the room! - Rooms far too hot! Poor ventilation, no air-con. But usual Premier Inn good bed, good bathroom, very clean. Food in Adjoing Brewers Fayre very poor.
- minister0fha (10/5): Great location. Helpful staff - Stayed one night for Coldplay Concert. Reception was very professional and helpful. Bed was very comfortable and the little chocolate was a nice touch. Great location for next day and luggage stored until our return train journey.
- FarAway39949845824 (6/5): Pretty decent but with a couple of let-downs - I expected better, there was mould on the bathroom ceiling and the room was comparable to a broom cupboard (all other rooms I walked past that were being housekept were much larger in size). The bed was clean and comfy and in general, other than the mould, the room was clean.
- X7757LSrebeccad (10/5): The best adventure base in London! - Highly recommend to all. Perfect base for London adventures. The best location and parking. Honestly the best hotel we've stayed at for location, parking, food, room size, cleanliness, staff in years. You will not go wrong booking here.
- Kirsten (10/5): - 10/10 location! We enjoyed our stay here! Very clean, and convenient to the Borough Market & restaurants. Would stay again!
- DayTrip55219835177 (10/5): Fantastic staff loved it. - The staff at this hotel go above and beyond helping.
From the minute we checked in untill the minute we left they looked after us.
We came to stsy for two nights to watch coldplay at Wembley.
I unfortunately had a fall on the first day and needed help accessing hospital and Leanne gave me all the information I needed and made it so much easier.
She was very helpful and conceroand the best day asked me if I was ok. Great asset to the hotel.
Gerald was very helpful with booking our breakfasts and booking taxis, helping in the restraunt as well.
The hotel is lovely and welcoming great rooms with large baths just what you need at the end of the day.
Excellent will defenetly be bsvk to this hotel.
- Dreamer552433 (8/5): Excellent service. - The hotel was as we expected, friendly staff and excellent service. We have been here once before and it was a very good experience hence return visit. We would definitely recommend and we will visit again.
- Thomas (8/5): - Die Lage des Hotels war super. In nächster Nähe zum Boroughmarket.
- 979angelam (10/5): perfect for visiting London in summer - Great location, very comfortable bed. Welcoming and competent staff. Robert at the reception helped us with expertise and kindness.
- Mancgirl23 (10/5): Perfect location - Great location and friendly staff. The room was a family room which was perfect for myself and two teenagers. Would highly recommend
- elenapH3095XB (10/5): Family stay - Family with Kids aged 9 and 5. Great location especially of you come from Gatwick. London bridge station very close. Nice and friendly staff. Nice room and breakfast.
- emmagK2827IF (6/5): Not a bad hotel , good location but no air con for summer months :( - Not a bad hotel , very good location to start with. right next to the amusements and rides , 15 min walk from the town centre . The beach is literally over the road and the lovely lake is behind the hotel .Staff we encountered were helpful and friendly and the brewers fayre next door was lovely , very welcoming and really good food .
Down sides .. the place could do with a revamp , wear and tear to be shown around the hotel . Our room was tidy but a few spots weren't the cleanest . Dust behind the bathroom door and some old flyer stuck behind they also , mold on the bathroom grout etc . But all in all you get what you pay for . Door was abit annoying kept banging every time somebody passed through the hall . Biggest pet peeve was there was no air con .. the room got very warm at night . we were provided with sheets and a fan but still didnt fully tackle the warmth .Also there's a rat problem in the area .. like most seaside towns i guess but not really nice to walk out in the early evening to rats running around outside :(
If they could add air con and do abit of sprucing up and minor repairs the place would get 5 stars easy .
- N6153KBianm (10/5): Great stay - Lovely stay. Good location for the seafront and only a couple of minutes walk into Southport centre. Excellent night staff. Especially Ian who was a great help. Even at 3.30am!
- JayneW410 (10/5): Very good hotel - I stayed with my 2 grandchildren. The rooms were comfortable and the staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to the beach, the fair, bowling alley and splashworld. The beds were comfortable and there is a kettle and cups to make tea or coffee. The only thing the rooms were short of was an iron. Breakfast was good, buffet style. We will definitely stay there again.
- Roshni (8/5): - Everything was great. Hot breakfast was the highlight. Only issue was washroom didnt had any fan or ventilation. Front entrance is lacking outdoor landscaping maintenance.
- Margot (10/5): - We absolutely loved the area and the hotel. The guy at the front desk went above and beyond helping us. I wish we would have gotten his name. The whole staff was very accommodating. Our room was spotless. Can’t say enough good. They even called a taxi for us when we checked out
- thelorddr (10/5): Magnificent location - Magnificent location, easy to get anywhere, walks along the Thames and into West End are wonderful. Surrounded by countless restaurants, pubs and cafes. Always very friendly staff. All rooms have a bath (with shower over) which is a bonus. Only drawbacks are deliveries to the neighbouring historic pub can be noisy in early hours, and Wifi is not great. We've stayed in most of the London Premiere Inns, and this is our favourite.
- simonrD6235VC (10/5): Great location for family stay - Stayed as a family for 5 nights. Location great and 5 minute walk to London Bridge station. Market on doorstep as is south bank walk. Staff were all extremely polite and helpful. Room was decent size for a family and as a premier inn could do with being updated but you get what you pay for and in London it was excellent value. Good choice of breakfast food and a small dining area but never felt over crowded. The pub next door empties bottles each day at 0700 which WILL wake you up! No issue with pedestrian or traffic noise though.
- J197RQgemmac (10/5): Great place to stay. - It was a great location. It is quiet, friendly and comfortable.
Families welcome and lots of sightseeing nearby. Recommend.
- Rubia (6/5): - The hotel is okah but great location.
- PaulPrice123 (10/5): Staff are absolutely brilliant - The staff were some of the friendliest and most helpful we come across. Really excellent. The hotel location is brilliant with a huge range of attractions and places to eat and drink on your doorstep.
- Seaside33794628906 (10/5): Nice stay - Nice location near London Bridge and the river. Big pub right next door.
Beds don't seem to be as big as they used to be, but still clean and comfy.
The free WiFi is very slow, but you can upgrade for a small fee.
Friendly staff, clean rooms with real baths.
With Premier Inn, you generally know what you're going to get. This hotel doesn't disappoint.
Only downside is that the prices have gone up enormously after the past 2-3 years, tho that's the same for other brands.
- ausreviewer (8/5): Great value for money - We enjoyed 4 nights at Premier Inn Southwark (Bankside) in June and overall found it great value for money.
As we were on a budget, we found the hotel the most affordable on Tripadvisor with the best reviews, in a spectacular location next to Borough Market and within easy walking distance to many attractions.
The bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfast was sufficient.
A couple of suggestions/feedback.
It could be worth investing in better food warmers, especially the pancakes as they were cold and hard.
My only criticism would be that staff could have been a bit more engaging. Anytime I passed someone in the hallway or at reception I usually got no response or acknowledgement. Even at breakfast sometimes staff were just looking at their phone and the only words said were "room number and any allergies" every day without one extra word, with the exception of the gentleman (possibly of Polish descent) at breakfast. It costs nothing to be a bit more engaging or say good morning, good afternoon, or have a lovely day when we head out in the morning.
Even when checking out and handing back our room cards, I think the best I got was thanks, when a "thank you for staying at Premier Inn, we hope you enjoyed your stay with us" would have been a nice ending to our holiday, rather than us walking off thinking they didn't even care if we were there or not.
Yes, I would certainly stay with you again.
- Jaden (10/5): - What a great area and great hotel. This hotel was minutes from the Jubilee line and the river with restaurants and a outdoor market right around the corner: I will stay here again the next time I’m in London
- nicolehP1914UI (4/5): Appalling value for money, terrible room, I would not stay here again. - Appalling value for money. My room certainly didn't look like the picture. It was dark, tiny windows, aircon not effective, the bathroom was absolutely tiny, the shower was tiny, the mirrors were in the wrong place, I couldn't even get ready properly for a blacktie event, why put a mirror where there is no light, the bathroom mirror was in behind the toilet and you couldn't even stand in front of it as there wasn't enough room. I would not stay here again. You are paying for the location only. Nearly £300 for a very substandard experience, sorry, not impressed. Breakfast, thankfully, was good and the bed was comfortable.
- A8235MPjanices (10/5): We love it here - We have stayed here too many times to count. Fabulous team, especially the wonderful warm welcome from Giselda, fantastic location, too. We had a great view of The Shard from our room! We would recommend Borough market, the Anchor beer garden next door, the old operating theatres at St Thomas, and the wonderful walks along the Thames, all within a few minutes walk of this great hotel. Thank you for looking after us, see you soon!
