Guest Reviews
- Cosmopolitan317395 (10/5): Overnight stay before travelling. - This is one of the best hotels i have stayed in. It was beautifully presented. Everything from 1st entering was superbly presented, the rooms were pristine, we had the absolute pleasure of having an evening meal and breakfast, which were outstanding both in quality and presentation.
- O3291HLmaram (10/5): Great Lodging Choice! - The Premiere Inn at Glasgow Airport was a fantastic stay after a long day of exploring! I didn't have time to enjoy any of the fantastic facility options, but did enjoy a nice shower and a good nights rest before catching my early flight the next morning. Will easily recommend this location to anyone, and will consider other Premiere Inn locations in the future.
- aidenr879 (4/5): Not great - Unfortunately this is the second time we spent there and it wasn't a good one . Paid for early check in and it wasn't ready until nearly and hour after the time we were meant to check In. A cleaner let themselves into our room at 1ish when we had not long got in and the next morning a cleaner did the same at 9.30am. We were still in bed was really unprofessional. Also we got told we didn't need to book the restaurant then were told there was nothing available. Such a disappointment.
- carly_19811 (8/5): Lovely stay - Good location for SEC arena, walking distance to west end Finnieston area which is where I was headed.
I struggled with self service checkin however was helped by a member of staff when pressed help button.
Room was lovely- nice fresh decor, great bathroom with bath & overhead waterfall shower.
Was delighted to have received a premier plus room on 5th floor. These have coffee machines, mini fridge & chocolate treats. Also code for free super fast WiFi!!
Was all good in my experience.
No noise & so a peaceful nights sleep in my very comfy bed.
I didn’t book for breakfast so can’t comment. Did enjoy some wine in the bar. Lovely bar man recommended a bottle as most cost effective (I shared this).
Bar area could have been a bit tidier however not the end of the world.
Hotel a bit pricier than Woukd normally pay probably due to location however being given a premier plus room was a nice sweetener.
- richardtL8131TV (10/5): Very pleasant stay. - Great location, riverside view from the bedroom window and looking out over the Clyde. Stayed 2 nights and took the meal deal both nights. Evening meals were excellent, again the retardant looked out over the river. The Buffet breakfast had a great choice, however the cooked breakfast items were not really hot, especially the bacon which was virtually cold. All hotel and restaurant staff were great, very helpful and obliging. A special mention for Denise on reception, who went over and above to be helpful, even went outside with us to point out the Transport Museum location.
Very friendly lady with a great personality and a credit to the establishment as they all were.
- HelenRichardUK (10/5): Friendly, comfortable stay - Chose the hotel because it was a reasonable rate and close to the SEC where I was working. Good location for that, although not a lot else around if you don't go into the city to eat. Staff were really lovely, genuinely felt welcomed. Upgraded to Premier Plus room (very quiet, top floor) and the little extras, slightly larger room, coffee machine, fridge, iron and ironing board, just made it a bit more comfortable. Some thought had gone into the design - a socket near the bed for instance, although not to the size of the windows which was a shame as I was riverside and wanted a view.
- Quest05987213176 (10/5): A great night at Premier Inn - We had a great stay - everything was good, including the service, the room, the facilities and the restaurant. It enhanced our overall FANTASTIC experience of Glasgow. Thanks!
- Lipsniteclub (2/5): UNACCEPTABLE CONDITION OF DIRTY ROOM - As im disabled I was horrified re my stay at this hotel the i arrived around 9pm Friday 7th November 2025 check in absolutely horrendous eventually I was allocated room 216 when I arrived at room for my stay I was greeted with dirty room bed not made dirty towels in bathroom absolutely shambles eventually I relocated to different room and also told by manager just to fill form online and I wud receive a full refund due to the stress and condition of room which I gladly completed BUT WAS REFUSED after waiting a week
- 62kay (10/5): lost property - stayed there on friday 14th till Sunday 16th in room 2 and left my husband’s Barbour scarf and hat as rushed out to transport for airport
can u let me know if it’s there and i can get it picked up by family
- paulsF758HD (10/5): The red river Raddical hotel - Very helpful letting us in before normal entry time, shared all the info we needed. Lovely reception area and bar and dining area. The room was very good lovely big windows letting in plenty of sunshine that day.
- 5907Ric (6/5): Mediocre Hotel - Comfortable bed, quiet room, good Wi-Fi, and friendly staff. We were expecting to have an early dinner but were informed that we needed to book in advance, resulting in us travelling to another venue for food. It would have been helpful if the need to book the restaurant for early dinners was highlighted on the website. Unfortunately, a dirty towel had been left hanging behind the bathroom door by the previous occupants. We thought the price was high for a mediocre hotel.
- T3235FLkarenm (10/5): Fantastic meal and stay. - Great location for hydro events, great staff, clean hotel, comfy beds, and great prices. Plenty of choice at breakfast and hot food consistently freshly added.
- Seaside16562184942 (2/5): Was shown 5 different rooms all much the same filthy - Hotel entrance dirty, uninviting.the whole hotel needs painted upgraded. Disgusting. I have stayed in many a Premier inn and this is by far worst.never again.
- lcrozierm (8/5): Poor check-in at 4.45 - many rooms not ready - You need to up your game when there are gigs on at the Ovo! Being told your room was not ready to check into at 4.45 is not acceptable after travelling and hour and a half to get there. Attitude of member of staff on check in desk beside the automated check in terminals was appalling actually saying out loud 'I don't care'. We were offered a double room with a pull out bed not acceptable for two mature ladies, and room was paid for in advance. Danielle came to our aid and had us sorted within 5 minutes of our complaint in a calm and professional manner. She also helped with the loan of a charger for my phone which needed charged. Room great after problem sorted, and lovely breakfast overlooking the water.
Perhaps more housekeeping staff required for these busy turnarounds.
- Tootsweet74 (10/5): Great location - This is our second visit to the Premier Inn Pacific Quay in Glasgow. It’s an ideal location if you are going to a concert in the Ovo Hydro, as we did, which is a 5 minute walk across the bridge. City centre is around 15/20 minute walk. The hotel is spacious and clean, rooms are clean and comfortable. The bar dining area is large with plenty of tables for dining or just having a drink. We didn’t have lunch or an evening meal in the restaurant but we did have breakfast which was fine. Good selection of continental and cooked breakfast. My only criticism would be the cooked breakfast items weren’t as hot as I’d like. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again.
- NazarSun7 (8/5): Overnight stay before holiday - Had a one night stay here bfore flying out early morning from Glasgow.
Stay friendly, check in quick and easy and room was clean and comfortable. Had a few drinks in the bar but didn't eat food as had already eaten and we were checking out before breakfast. Would recommend, around a 7 minute walk to the airport terminal
- 306graemeh (8/5): Very handy for the airport. - Check-in was quick & simple. Room spotlessly clean & quiet, and only a short walk to airport check-in.
Only downside was when we ordered drinks with our meal. The food was brought out 15/20mins after ordering but still no sign of our drinks, which was the first drinks we’d ordered . Left it a minute in case they were still on the way & had to chase them up - still waited a couple of minutes & were 1/2 way through our meal by the time our 1st drinks came.
Otherwise all good.
- Getaway38420044956 (10/5): Great location - Stayed at the Premier Inn due to its proximity to the SECC complex. The location is superb and value for money is reasonable.
Rooms are clean and all of the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Food choices for breakfast and evening meal are extensive and the quality is good.
Would recommend this hotel.
- durhamwasp (10/5): Good as usual - Good room, good meal options and nice food. 7 minutes walk to check in, and excellent deal with the nearby Flying Scot car park.
Restaurant is understaffed, meaning it's frustratingly slow as staff are trying to take orders/serve orders/check people into hotel all at the same time. Best to email hotel and make a reservation for restaurant.
- Willowcat74 (6/5): Many positives but not great overall - I think I might be erring on the side of generosity with this review as so many of the staff, particularly the lady that checked us in were fantastic. So welcoming, personable and even as we left the staff maintaining the rooms were friendly and cheerful. Unfortunately the whole room stank of damp and we wondered if the number of open windows we saw when we left indicated this wasn’t an isolated issue. The meal deal is incredible value and you know it won’t be the highest quality at those prices but my husband really enjoyed his. My soup was cold and when I let a member of staff know it was swiftly microwaved and returned (no problem with that at the prices) but was then met with a waitress stood over us barking out the name of our main courses which she held aloft while we still had starter plates in front of us. A bit odd. We did move our used plates to the side as she put the mains down and disappeared without a word. Not sure if that was someone having a bad day or whether there’s some etiquette to clearing tables we weren’t aware of but didn’t leave a positive impression. Wouldn’t hurry back despite the positive initial impressions (and well done to whoever hired the person manning reception - she’s fab!)
- KurtnJoe (10/5): Premier Glasgow experience - Great location, walking distance to car rentals and airport. Friendly staff and comfortable room. It was great to have the breakfast deal.
- 293catsc (2/5): Don’t stay here - Awful, tired, scruffy and lack of staff, the staff that were there were pretty useless, customer service is very bad.
Eat somewhere else, food awful.
- 505pamp (2/5): Allocated a filthy premier plus room - Having stayed in plenty of Premier Inns previously including this one I was looking forward to it. How disappointing it was. The room was filthy, thick dust on all surfaces, dirty fridge inside and out. Dirty coffee machine and hair in bathroom sink. Skirting boards and wall splashed with coffee and the carpet was disgusting. Keep in mind this was a premier plus room and we paid extra for the privilege. Had to ask for the WiFi code and decaffeinated coffee. Room came with sweets, well one sweet - not sure if it was for sharing. One of the cleaning team was helpful in rectifying our concerns however at no point did a supervisor or manager make contact to apologise - wasn’t important enough obviously that a customer had been allocated a filthy room.. The reception area furniture was also very dirty and dusty. The hotel is well overdue for a deep clean although I believe they have just finished a deep clean and passed their cleaning audit - this makes a mockery of an audit process. Whilst Premier Inns are usually of a good standard I would avoid this one.
- 134sjb (10/5): Great Start for West Highland Way - Stayed here the night before starting the west highland way. 2nd stay at this hotel and both times were great. Comfy room, nice and clean and a great breakfast in the morning. Staff could not have been more helpful. Only a short walk up to the town and the start of the way. Would definitely stay here again
- L1141AIgrahamb (10/5): Great location - Perfect location for Ovo hydro and other venues on the Clyde. Hotel was clean, tidy and everything yoy expect from a Premier Inn. Thought the car park charge (£9.50 discounted) was a bit cheeky especially as you've paid to stay there! Spoke to reception after having problems with the app your asked to use, several other guests had similar problems too being messaged telling them their parking session was due to end sooner than expected.
- Tracypopscot (8/5): A good place to stay for gigs etc - Lovely rooms in a great location, and very good value for money. The evening food was awful and service pretty bad throughout the stay, apart from Luke and Holly who were very helpful.
Breakfast was good except being shouted at for not taking an allergy document, despite my allergy not being included in it (had checked it before dinner).
Would stay again as it’s cheap and handy, but will bring sandwiches.
- hevskipevski (6/5): Could be better. Some cheaper hotels are a better deal - 1. Firstly, I was soaked to the skin when I checked in, and there was nowhere, no way, or nothing to dry my clothes on, because you’ve got ridden of radiators, and just have stupid air source heating. So I had to put wet clothes on in the morning, despite having aired them out all night in my room. And had to have the heating on high.
2. There was no bath. I don’t like showers, I like baths. I thought all Premier Inn’s had baths?
3. The Freeview TV was terrible. How does Premier Inn think it’s Premier when you have only Freeview and not Sky or BT or something with lots of different channels. It took ages to change channels and I couldn’t get the menu to come up at all. It might be a big screen TV but it was so unresponsive and rubbish. If you charge people for better TV in a premium room that is disgusting, should be available for everyone.
4. And of course as usual the WIFI was poor unless you pay.
5. No Hot Chocolate sachets.
Honestly the Argyll Guest House and Hotel over in Kelvingrove is better (and the Sandyford), in their Budget Basic Single room, alright that place might not have a bath either, or hot chocolate sachets. But it has a largish TV and easy to flip through the channels, and the wifi is 50mbps for free. And a free breakfast. And a comfy bed. And a radiator to dry things on. And at least they have ginger biscuits….
The only reason I went here was for convenience at night after a trip on the Waverley. It’s good for that. You can just check in, it’s nearby. But I didn’t have any food this time. Just a disappointment RE baths, the TV and not having anywhere to dry my clothes.
- ID0450 (6/5): Premier Don’t Want to Employ Staff. It shows. - Let’s leave aside the inadequate bedroom hanging and shelf space, what’s really disappointing is that Premier is trying to run this hotel with less than adequate staff levels. No-one was at reception to welcome guests when we arrived or most other times we passed. Instead there were impersonal machines which were good at throwing room cards on the floor but hopeless at picking them up. A email had offered a room upgrade for a price - ‘just ask at reception on arrival’- but how can you ask a machine? Similarly there was no-one at the restaurant entrance to greet and take money because staff were also expected to clear up. One could have had a free breakfast if dishonest. Oh, and the breakfast berries were a solid frozen mass impossible to break up and eat presumably because the kitchen was too undermanned to organise thawing.
If Premier can’t be bothered to employ people to provide minimum service levels then it may find travellers can’t be bothered to stay. We used to be Premier regulars - not any more, thanks to a previous bad experience made worse by a customer service organisation whose function is clearly to drive customers away. The staffing situation at Pacific Quay suggests the company is intent on continuing its downwards trajectory.
- jackiemS1853EL (10/5): Highly recommended - Very handy for the Exhibition Centre. Easy to get there by bus or car. Clean room, very friendly staff. Have stayed here quite a few times and booked to stay again shortly for a concert at the Hydro.
- jamesfS6991HF (2/5): Bad customer service - Left an expensive coat in the room (that was silly). Checked out - an hour later realised what I’d done - sent them an email the same day - 4 days later, no response… Returned to the hotel at the end of my trip, asked them to check lost property, they found nothing, they then asked for my contact details as ‘some of the cleaners are off today’ - if they’d have responded to their emails, the last step wouldn’t have been necessary - don’t know how I’m going to collect my coat all the way from London if they find it - 0/5 customer service.
- stevedU3221FJ (4/5): practical jokes and poor restaurant service - Practical jokes and poor service ruined our stay, we had booked here as we do a lot, as we were attending an event at the ovo hydro. We had no issues with check in as we used a terminal, we walked the long corridor to our room (constantly expecting to see twins on trikes at some point!), we decided to have a cup of tea once we got into the room, my partner picked up the kettle only to find that some joker thought it would be funny to cover the kettle handle in black sharpie! the handle is also black so it wasn't noticeable, they also covered the rear of the teaspoons in sharpie too! I took evidence with me back to reception and spoke to the lovely lady at reception who was very apologetic and replaced our teaspoons with clean ones, we were even offered another kettle or a different room, i politely declined as I just wanted to make them aware that it had happened. However dinner service was a different story. We had booked for 6pm, giving us (what we thought would be) plenty time to eat before heading to the hydro as the event didn't start until 8. Service to begin with was ok, we ordered our drinks and food, after maybe a 20 minute wait we received our main course which was very good, then came the long waits, we watched customer after customer receiving their mains and desserts and paying our bills while we were being completely ignored! our plates were clearly at the edge of the table ready to removed. After much waiting my partner got the attention of a server and asked for the dessert menu (as we had paid for their meal deal), our order for dessert was taken after another 10 minutes of waiting, by this time we were watching the clock as it was now approaching 7.30pm! we decided after almost another 10 minutes to ditch the desserts and leave! We were not the only ones who left dissapointed either.
Normally the quality of service in this hotel is excellent, the front of house staff are always great but the restaurant staff were a complete letdown, there was a queue for the buffet in the morning as there was hardly any hot food available.
We are returning in a couple of weeks but won't be having dinner in the restaurant.
Very dissapointed in the poor service from the restaurant staff..
- Tubbytummy (10/5): Nice hotel - Stayed here one night , lifts were out of order but Gemma puts us on the ground floor.
We found her to be very cheerful and chatty as well as informative, credit to Premier.
Sang the praises of food unfortunately we did not par take as had eaten. Oh well.
Rooms as what the expectations are, clean well maintained with soaps, teas and coffees with kettle and TV, also batteries in remote control.
- B1137VRpeterf (6/5): Acceptable......(just) - Acceptable accommodation for events at the SEC & OVO Hydro. Chairs in restaurant stained & dirty, tables tacky with old varnish. Vending machines horrendously expensive.
Public transport into city is not close at hand.
Staff do their best with what they've got but this "budget" hotel needs a refresh. Premier Inn used to be quite affordable, but they're now quite expensive these days for what you get.
- jimeV632ZV (2/5): SHOCK HORROR! Premier Inn Pacific Quay - Poor Management spoils guests hotel stay! - I have stayed many times at this hotel over the years and enjoyed it.
Wow, has it gone downhill!
The cause of the deterioration? POOR MANAGEMENT
The staff are still very nice, if you can find one, but they are clearly overworked. There just doesn't seem to be enough of them.
Prior to my visit to the hotel, I tried to call the hotel, it took several attempts over a period of days to get through.
The food in the restaurant is mediocre and akin to a microwave meal from a cheap supermarket. Sadly the cost isn't cheap supermarket.
I had some contact with the management/shift supervisor over a simple request I had made. I found them to be most unhelpful, verging on passive aggressive (you know who you are).
It's a shame that a perfectly decent hotel has been spoiled by POOR MANAGEMENT. Thankfully there are plenty more hotel options around the SECC to choose from.
- ajkedar (10/5): Perfect overnight for early flight. - Easy parking with a small charge of £4 for overnight, which we felt was fair. Pay at check in with car number plate.
Lovely friendly checkin from charming member of staff and felt our custom was welcome.
Room was spacious on second floor and spotless. Everything you could need provided with free WiFi . Comfortable bed and room quiet. Did not eat at hotel , so no views on food.
Perfect for early flight. Not that cheap but will use again for convenience and saves hassle of driving early morning as at airport.
- Amber (6/5): - I think we may have been spoiled by other rooms that were less money, but overall, the staff were friendly, the breakfast buffet was well stocked with a nice variety of items and the view overlooking the river was really nice.
The room was where things fell a little flat. There were stains on all over the walls, the carpet needed a serious deep clean, black mold in the bathroom and the supplied toiletries were covered in spilled residue and hair from previous users. The bed was a little hard, but ok. The room overall was extremely small with the weirdest tiniest window.
For a quick stop over it was fine, but definitely needed some serious deep cleaning
- kimamo63 (8/5): Great hotel - We stayed one night at this hotel. Complimentary upgrade to a premier plus room and a friendly greeting upon arrival were really appreciated.
We had a really nice meal at Social, served by the lovely Hayley.
A bit tired from the outside however warm and friendly hotel.
- R1590LBcaroln (6/5): A perfectly adequate place to stay enroute but customer service has room for improvement. - Location was great. A perfect choice for catching an early flight.
Atmosphere was fine, nothing special but perfectly OK.
The room was a good size, clean and the bed was very comfortable. We were told at reception that the new menu would be in our room and it wasn't. There was also only one towel for two people so we had to get another one from reception.
The service was mixed. We received a really good reception as we booked in and the receptionist was very helpful. At dinner service was lacking. We were left standing for a while to be seated, The table we were shown to wasn't clean and several of the new items on the menu were not available. Breakfast was better. The noise levels were fine and I would stay again in similar circumstances but there is definite room for improvement.
- 07070707070707 (10/5): Holiday starts as soon as you check in - Perfectly next to the airport a brilliant hotel the social area is fantastic and the food is very reasonable and the meal deal with unlimited breakfast in the morning was fantastic definitely stay here again
- 287lynt (10/5): Great place - Lovely place .clean and comfortable with a great bed. Asked for and got ground floor room as both mobility problems.very kindly treated with care taken to check room was good enough for our meeds
- capesj2025 (8/5): Overnighter - Clean and comfortable room, staff friendly, could have done with a few more staff on duty due to wait time for food and drink.
- paulgV4910JH (10/5): Good local staff, all good here - Staying prior to WHW. Swift, friendly check-in from reception guy/ room was fine / excellent cooked breakfast with good service, nice lady.. well done
- C3937YHtonyt (2/5): Awful welcome, Filthy room - Arrived. No one on reception. Waited 15 minutes for someone to arrive, when he did his shirt was hanging out of his trousers and he looked disheveled. This was followed by you can't have breakfast until 10.30. I told him my business meeting was at 11am he didn't care. The room was dirty. Pubic hair in the shower and on the toilet rim. Disgusting. Not even a glass in the bathroom to rinse your mouth out after you brush your teeth. Quite simply after 40 years of staying in hotels this one goes down as one of the worst. I'm cancelling my booking in the morning and going to relocate in central Glasgow. Don't stay here folks it's the pits.
- millie482018 (10/5): Best hotel at breakfast at Glasgow Airport - Just using the hotel for flight first thing in the morning, the staff were very helpful at reception, our room was very pleasant, quiet, clean and comfortable- well above the standard of upmarket airport hotels that you pay dearly for.
Breakfast was freshly cooked and very reasonably priced, again staff are very helpful and polite.
Thanks to everyone involved in the premier inn at Glasgow Airport
- cannucker (4/5): Black mould - This hotel could use some deep cleaning. There was a severe black mould problem in the bathroom, the carpet was filthy, and the mattress had a very odd odor.
- michaelpZ1679SS (10/5): Definitely will stay again - Friendly well positioned hotel with good staff and food options. Food was tasty with a good drinks selection on offer. All staff met were friendly and helpful
- TrailBlazer772182 (10/5): Perfect for Late night arrivals from airport. - Fantastic hotel, only a 5 minute walk from Glasgow airport. Great for late night arrivals. Night manager knew who I was, due to me letting hotel know I would be arriving at around 2am. Was directed to my ground floor room which was extremely comfortable and clean for my needs.
Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice, between cereals, fruit, yogurts, pastries, hot food buffet and hot and cold drinks.
- T4864AQjanicem (4/5): Not Premier Inn usual quality - Made a same day booking. Only Accessible Premier Plus room available. On arrival, entrance door and lobby grubby. Male at reception almost incoherent. Social bar/restaurant area was full and noisy at only 6.30 pm. Looked as though it was full of locals, mostly male. Luckily I brought food with me. Room was fine. However, bathroom smelt of drains, and bath slippy and unsafe. Some nice touches. Good toiletries, coffee, bottled water, iron, etc. Unfortunately no air conditioning and window had limited opening. Lift out of order in the morning and had to get help to take case down two flights of stairs. Would not recommend this Premier Inn
- Antonio (8/5): - Muy buen hotel.
- karensE9974GB (4/5): Comfortable bed, shame about the poor restaurant service and the staff - Room comfortable with the excellent Premier Inn bed.
However, no food available in the evening unless booked well in advance. This is because the restaurant is far too small for the number of rooms. Many guests including myself refused an evening meal for this reason. We were all toke that the website stated meals have to be pre-booked. This is an airport hotel where you can’t predict your arrival time. The ‘Social’ facility is billed as 24 hours but is not.
Staff overwhelmed and rude. Barman told me to pay up and get lost. Charming.
There is a Londis at the petrol station next door for sandwich options and the staff there are at least polite and pleasant.
Avoid.
- sherrysO8920MR (6/5): Hotel ok, avoid the restaurant! - Hotel was lovely, as expected. The restaurant is horrible, eat any where but here! Food was below average quality and quantity. Dried burnt and not as the menu described. The ladies washroom was a mess. 2 toilets out of order, one unflushable and full of waste,1 covered with fecal matter and 1 usable but no toilet paper.
- A8519UPjamier (4/5): Pre wedding day over night - Had booked this hotel for the night before my wedding so me & my best man could get ready in here & travel along the road to Boclair house. Upon checking in we were told my best man’s room had a leak which is unavoidable but he was placed in a disabled access room on the ground floor & my room was 1 up. His room smelled of damp & is in dire need of a lick of paint. The WiFi is horrific. The restaurant adjacent to the hotel is also in dire need of a revamp. If it weren’t for the lovely woman on shift that night we would have walked out & went elsewhere (04/09/25). At £107.99 a night I expected better than what we experienced.
- SABeaches (10/5): Great location to start the West Highland Way - Great location to start the West Highland Way. Staff and accommodation were the perfect combination for a great start to our walk.
- Gabriela Raquel (8/5): - Gente amable
- 246sarajanem (2/5): Poor cleanliness - Room was filthy and so was bathroom. No staff on desk we had to wait around for 20 mins. Food wasn’t up to standard for premier inns I’ve stayed at before. The walls in the bedroom was filthy there was plaster falling from ceiling. Absolutely shocking experience. We will not stay there sgaim
- Richard (10/5): - Clean room, good service.
Consigliatissimo, ci tornerei volentieri!
- judem260 (4/5): Overdue a refurbishment! - Unfortunately this hotel seems to be in need of a total refurbishment. The staff are lovely, however the hotel is starting to look shabby. The bathroom smelled damp and the room thermostat didn’t seem to work. The room was boiling all night at 27 degrees which made my daughter so ill she was unable to attend the family party we had come 250 miles for. It was only 14-15 degrees outside. This begs the question of was the heating on?
The restaurant was shabby and half closed. Again, staff were lovely but they ran out of several items for the cooked breakfast to the extent that on our final day they were only offering continental- when we had paid for cooked.
All in all, I have stayed here many times but won’t be back until it has improved. For £100 per night plus breakfast I will find a better deal.
- johnhT6454PP (6/5): Lovely staff, ok breakfast, place in need of an upgrade. - Comfortable room 200, handily by the lift, comfortable bed, okay breakfast. However the premises could do with being spruced up, notably the building exterior and the restaurant. We were let down by our room having been forgotten by housekeeping on day of arrival, though the duty staff rallied round quickly. We are fans of Premier Inn but this was a bit disappointing.
- henkm23 (6/5): Ideal hotel night before WHW - Ideal hotel for the start of the West Highland Walk. Comfortable rooms, friendly service. Buffet continental breakfast okay. There are a few restaurants close by. Otherwise Milngavie does not have much to offer. There's also luggage pick up.
- Martina (6/5): - Personale scortese e non presente
- timcD5678OM (6/5): What you expect from a Premier Inn, but only Continental breakfast on some days. - This is my 2nd visit to this hotel. The location is great if hiking the West Highland Way as it is only about 1/2 a mile from the start. It is a typical Premier Inn. The rooms are a bit dated, but the price is good. We reserved a full breakfast for our visit, but on the morning we were there, only continental was available. It was a good continental breakfast, but I really wanted something more before starting our hike.
- SCC1993 (4/5): Disappointing but cheap - We booked as we were attending a wedding nearby. The hotel has reasonable prices. There was ample parking and it was quiet. We booked for early check in but this wasn't something reception appeared aware of or had prepared for albeit we got our room without issue when this was clarified. The rooms are dated. The bed was very comfy but there's repairs needed in rooms, some things looking a bit worn. It was clean though. The temperature in the room was unbearable. It was so hot overnight and there's no means of cooking this down particularly when the windows only open a little bit.
We booked in for breakfast the next day. It seems this was not staffed properly and was disorganised chaos. Lots of dirty tables with plates on them. The cooked breakfast came out quick. Continental breakfast was fine too, but bread was stale. It wasn't awful, just very basic.
I wouldn't rush back here again and would likely only book if there was nowhere else.
- redscarfox (8/5): Typical Premier Inn - Typical Premier Inn. Excellent staff from receptionist to breakfast staff. Good value breakfast and one of the best beds around (we like them so much we bought one). Our room was ok , but they are now looking a bit dated. The big problem was the shower. It almost knocked me over and then was almost impossible to turn off.
- timjstark (8/5): The solid choice for beginning your WHW. - This very functional hotel is not the Ritz, but it is the best spot for launching your West Highland Way. I have stayed here for the start of both of my WHW hikes. The location allows you (walking) proximity to the actual start as well as to a few local restaurants (Garvie & Sons) for your dinner the night before. It is a clean hotel with a bit of a need for updating, but guests have access to a solid breakfast and while the hotel is understaffed, those that do work here are helpful and professional. A good choice.
- Expedition801475 (4/5): Eat elsewhere - Convenient for the West Highland Way
Initial reception was fine, but was not staffed all of the time
Room was fine
The adjoining restaurant is one to avoid.
The exterior and interior look tired, we arrived in the early evening and were told the chef was running behind, as far as I could see it wasn't all that busy, little food seemed to be sent to tables over the next hour. It took 30 minutes to place an order and another 30 minutes to get any food. The burger bun was burnt.
Next morning there was no chef so it was continental breakfast only.
