Guest Reviews
- Z1569KKcatherineh (4/5): Not the best experience - Just a couple of points. Unhelpful at check in regarding rooms on the same floor. Cold plates for a hot breakfast. Undercooked bacon. No milk available one night. Room was cold and heating just kept clicking off. Plus side 2 extra pillows given for a fractured wrist. Luggage storage was available. Good location
- fionai165 (2/5): Awful rooms - Room allocated was extremely damp. Unable to open window in room. Complained to manager and moved to another room. Been same for over a year. Windows need to be replaced. Paid £140 for room. Have enquired about getting a refund. Totally unexceptable.
- Cosmopolitan317395 (10/5): Overnight stay before travelling. - This is one of the best hotels i have stayed in. It was beautifully presented. Everything from 1st entering was superbly presented, the rooms were pristine, we had the absolute pleasure of having an evening meal and breakfast, which were outstanding both in quality and presentation.
- Trip281682 (10/5): Nice stay - One night stay. Hotel is in City Centre. Central Station 10 min walk away. Queen St Station 5 mins away. Room was very comfortable. I had a goos nights sleep. Hotel convenient for Airport Bus. Nice bar and restaurant area.
- jrZ3668SO (6/5): Shopping trip - Great location for trains and shopping. Staff were very friendly. The hotel room was clean, a little tired looking, but had a strong smell of damp.
The menu in the restaurant is not great for coeliacs. This could easily be improved.
- I8124ICdavidc (4/5): Jobs-worth staff who can’t be bothered - Lazy, jobs worthy staff who really couldn’t give a damn.
Too busy to assist at checkin when approached, too busy to assist with finding me a breakfast seat at 09h30. Came down for food at 21h05. Was made to wait until exactly 21h15 only to be told the kitchen closes at 21h15. Very poor attitude = very weak management
- O3291HLmaram (10/5): Great Lodging Choice! - The Premiere Inn at Glasgow Airport was a fantastic stay after a long day of exploring! I didn't have time to enjoy any of the fantastic facility options, but did enjoy a nice shower and a good nights rest before catching my early flight the next morning. Will easily recommend this location to anyone, and will consider other Premiere Inn locations in the future.
- xZeex (4/5): Hotel stay experience - The free Wi-Fi was unreliable, and the bathroom had a strong unpleasant odor. Additionally, there were not enough irons or ironing boards available.
- jettttt (6/5): Hermetically sealed room - Room had no opening window. Not stated when I booked. I can not be the only person who expects - and needs in order to sleep - fresh air. Otherwise everything was okay.
- aidenr879 (4/5): Not great - Unfortunately this is the second time we spent there and it wasn't a good one . Paid for early check in and it wasn't ready until nearly and hour after the time we were meant to check In. A cleaner let themselves into our room at 1ish when we had not long got in and the next morning a cleaner did the same at 9.30am. We were still in bed was really unprofessional. Also we got told we didn't need to book the restaurant then were told there was nothing available. Such a disappointment.
- carly_19811 (8/5): Lovely stay - Good location for SEC arena, walking distance to west end Finnieston area which is where I was headed.
I struggled with self service checkin however was helped by a member of staff when pressed help button.
Room was lovely- nice fresh decor, great bathroom with bath & overhead waterfall shower.
Was delighted to have received a premier plus room on 5th floor. These have coffee machines, mini fridge & chocolate treats. Also code for free super fast WiFi!!
Was all good in my experience.
No noise & so a peaceful nights sleep in my very comfy bed.
I didn’t book for breakfast so can’t comment. Did enjoy some wine in the bar. Lovely bar man recommended a bottle as most cost effective (I shared this).
Bar area could have been a bit tidier however not the end of the world.
Hotel a bit pricier than Woukd normally pay probably due to location however being given a premier plus room was a nice sweetener.
- KeithG644 (10/5): Shopping Trip in Glasgow - The hotel location is ideal for accessing the central shopping area of Glasgow. The hotel was of a superb standard and the staff were very friendly and helpful and made you feel welcome
- IrS1 (10/5): Glasgow premier inn review - Usual very good standard of room, quiet, and very well located close to Queens Street station-we stayed at George square hotel-would consider staying here again if we return to Glasgow
- richardtL8131TV (10/5): Very pleasant stay. - Great location, riverside view from the bedroom window and looking out over the Clyde. Stayed 2 nights and took the meal deal both nights. Evening meals were excellent, again the retardant looked out over the river. The Buffet breakfast had a great choice, however the cooked breakfast items were not really hot, especially the bacon which was virtually cold. All hotel and restaurant staff were great, very helpful and obliging. A special mention for Denise on reception, who went over and above to be helpful, even went outside with us to point out the Transport Museum location.
Very friendly lady with a great personality and a credit to the establishment as they all were.
- C8660QFbrendah (2/5): Mould and condensation in room - First room we had had a terrible
Smell of mould and the condensation was so bad from the windows the carpets were soaking wet . Moved rooms but the smell took ages to go from my septum. The service in the bar area was awful . Warm dessert arrived cold and the women who was supposed to be the duty manager had a terrible attitude. Poor service. Won’t be returning in a hurry
- HelenRichardUK (10/5): Friendly, comfortable stay - Chose the hotel because it was a reasonable rate and close to the SEC where I was working. Good location for that, although not a lot else around if you don't go into the city to eat. Staff were really lovely, genuinely felt welcomed. Upgraded to Premier Plus room (very quiet, top floor) and the little extras, slightly larger room, coffee machine, fridge, iron and ironing board, just made it a bit more comfortable. Some thought had gone into the design - a socket near the bed for instance, although not to the size of the windows which was a shame as I was riverside and wanted a view.
- Quest05987213176 (10/5): A great night at Premier Inn - We had a great stay - everything was good, including the service, the room, the facilities and the restaurant. It enhanced our overall FANTASTIC experience of Glasgow. Thanks!
- Lipsniteclub (2/5): UNACCEPTABLE CONDITION OF DIRTY ROOM - As im disabled I was horrified re my stay at this hotel the i arrived around 9pm Friday 7th November 2025 check in absolutely horrendous eventually I was allocated room 216 when I arrived at room for my stay I was greeted with dirty room bed not made dirty towels in bathroom absolutely shambles eventually I relocated to different room and also told by manager just to fill form online and I wud receive a full refund due to the stress and condition of room which I gladly completed BUT WAS REFUSED after waiting a week
- paulsF758HD (10/5): The red river Raddical hotel - Very helpful letting us in before normal entry time, shared all the info we needed. Lovely reception area and bar and dining area. The room was very good lovely big windows letting in plenty of sunshine that day.
- Frqflier (6/5): If You're Going Premier Inn, You Know Why You're There... - Not sure I'd rush back, but I got what I paid for. All you need to know about the property is a heavy reliance on cutting out people in favor of automation. And it's a business run on upselling.
You check in via computer screen and QR code, so don't expect a warm greeting from anyone. Instead, you're interrupting a bartender or restaurant server if you have any questions or issues with the check-in screen. Your key card is required for just about every set of doors off of the lobby. And the restaurant menu comes with many upgrade options at a cost. That said, my evening meal came with an upgrade option for a drink from the bar and free breakfast for I think 26 pounds for everything which was pretty reasonable. A shame my entree wasn't really worth that price as it all seemed previously prepared and thrown in the microwave, with a defrosted dessert smothered in sauce.
Others on here have complained about the noise at this hotel. But when I stayed in mid-November that was not an issue.
It's a short five-minute walk from the Queens Street train station and about a 15-minute walk from Glasgow Central Station. Lots of restaurants, coffee shops and retail options within a short walk if you don't want to dine at the hotel.
Buchanan Street and all of its shops are within a 10-minute walk.
Finally, if you're staying at a Premier Inn, you know what you've paid for, and you know what you're getting. Greatly reduce your expectations and you won't be disappointed.
- V2674IRiand (10/5): Great will use again - Nice clean room, quite location, friendly helpful staff, good entry system, great shower, adjoining bar was warm and welcoming staff great stay thank you
- K6874JTmarks (2/5): Disappointed - I use Premier inn several times a year and use George’s Square quite regularly and have always enjoyed my stay unfortunately this time was a bad experience, from entering and booking in to leaving it was a bad experience.
On arrival I informed the person on reception I was hard of hearing, but she didn’t try to make face to face contact with me she kept her head down speaking , I said twice more I’m sorry I am quite deaf and cant hear you, she continued to look down.
On entering my room there was a smell of damp / musky smell.
There was an old discarded banana skin in the waste bin, and the bathroom was not clean.
I had travelled all day and on arrival I asked if restaurant was still serving food…to be told quite abruptly NO, I then asked if there was any were near I could get something to eat to be told look on google maps.
As for breakfast the next morning, the supposedly hot food was cold , yes cold …I informed a member of staff who really couldn’t be bothered to respond. I couldn’t eat it, so I went to get something mixed cut up fruit but it was almost gone so I asked if it could be replenished, waited 15 minutes and nothing appeared.
This was very disappointing, I have always found Premier Inn to be of a good standard but I think the staff need additional training on how to deal with customers.
Very disappointing
- jana1405 (4/5): Fustration and Upset Experience at Premier Inn Plus - The check-in online service: is easy however could be improved as they give options for vouchers for WiFi codes , they should vouchers for breakfast including your dates you pre paid advance , Staff Member: forget the customer experience service is important many customers is the there for travel , leisure or for work , at least they could offer is respect and professional services towards customers: complaint is road for improvement and better service,we are paying customers , just asking for being with fairness and respect manner , More training for staff in customer service management, training for basic English skills spoken and culture manner , is big fault of premier inn employee staff without basic understanding English in 2025 , please been more responsible as company with that issues , More awareness of neurodivergent customer ( accessible issues is available please training your staff , Paid extra for premier plus room : begging for replacement for coffee and water refills, coffee machines wasn’t empty , toilets seats falling apart , duvet sheets with marks of been seen better days , please replace everything in life comes to end , the check in late as 15:00 pm and check out 12pm give the customer 17 hours of used the room is plenty time for review the appliances before the checking , miscommunication and broken system just ruined my stay on my couple days of my breakaway.
- MissW45 (8/5): Good city centre location - I wouldn't recommend arriving to early, we arrived 20 mins before check-in time & were told to wait until 15:00.
They then opened check-in at the main desk & the self check-in.
I went up to the desk & was told to join the queue at the self check-in machines & wait to use them or go to the desk when asked to.
However another member of staff opened another check-in desk & took people from further back in the queue instead of asking who was next.
We checked in got our key cards & made our way to our room.
Room was basic, the bed was comfortable & it was very quiet.
The room wasn't the cleanest & there was hairs on the shower wall & neither of us had used the shower at that time. The fan in the bathroom was very noisy & sounded like someone was using a hairdryer in the bathroom.
The air conditioning control panel worked but the buttons had disintegrated due to being pressed over time.
The bed was comfortable & we both had a good sleep. The bedside tables were quite dusty & there was small pools of water collecting on the windowsill from the condensation on the window. It would be better if the windows opened.
Breakfast was really good & there was plenty to choose from & something for everyone.
- roquejoaof (10/5): Dear Auld Glesga Toon. - Great hotel, rooms clean and very comfortable. In house eatery which is good enough but Glasgow has so many great places to eat. Very central near tranport links and restaurants. Stayed here often and will again.
- nicdigby (2/5): Utterly appalling. Restaurant manager was a disgrace and blatant breach of Equality act. Avoid. Please just avoid. - I travel regularly and rarely leave reviews, but what happened at the Glasgow Central George Square Premier Inn deserves to be on record. This was one of the most humiliating, frustrating, and downright shambolic hotel experiences I have ever had — and that’s before we even get to the serious accessibility failures that directly breach disability law.

Dinner: A masterclass in mismanagement and arrogance
Tuesday evening, 5.15pm. The restaurant seats about 80 people. When our group of seven arrived, there were precisely six diners already there. Six. Yet we were told we could only sit at certain tables because of “staff shortages” — and that we’d have to wait an hour and a half before being served. In an almost empty restaurant.
The manager claimed there was “only one person in the kitchen” (at a major city-centre hotel, no less) and that a party of four booked for later somehow prevented us from being seated at all. When I explained that I was cold, exhausted, and could not leave the hotel because my wheelchair wouldn’t fit in the lift (more on that fiasco below), the response was not compassion or practical problem-solving — it was hostility. The manager curtly informed me that I could eat alone, but my friends could not join me.
While we were still trying to make sense of this nonsense, she happily accepted a new booking for two people at 6.45pm — and triumphantly told us that meant we’d now have to wait until 7pm. She seemed almost to enjoy the power play.
After waiting an hour and three quarters, by 6.57pm, we were desperate to just get on with it. But when we tried to order, she actually looked at her watch, smirked, and announced that we’d have to wait until 7pm on the dot. I have managed teams for years — if one of my staff had behaved like that toward guests, they would be up for dismissal. And this manager certainly deserves to be fired.
To be clear: the junior waitresses (Amy and another young woman) were excellent — polite, efficient, and working with an obstructive manager. Felt sorry for them.
The food, once it finally arrived, was decent enough (although my cheesecake was still a bit frozen in the middle). But any goodwill was obliterated by the way the manager treated paying customers.
And it didn’t stop there. As we were finishing up — around 10pm, the last table still eating — she began clattering plates very loudly on the next table, glaring pointedly in our direction. Then she turned the lights up bright enough to perform surgery. When that didn’t shift us, she dimmed them so low we were sitting in near-darkness. It was a not-so-subtle “get out” message. The pettiness was unbelievable.
This is supposedly a Premier Inn “Hub” hotel in central Glasgow, yet apparently they can only cope with ten diners at once. The entire experience was embarrassing for the brand and degrading for guests.
⸻
Accessibility: A disgrace to disabled travellers
Now to the serious part — and the reason this hotel should be formally investigated under the Equality Act 2010.
I use a small mobility scooter and, as always, checked in advance. Both the hotel itself and Premier Inn’s disability team assured me the building and my booked room were accessible. That was an outright lie.
• Entrance lift: The pavement-to-lobby lift is too small to fit a standard mobility scooter. The door would not close. I had to lift parts of the scooter, twist myself sideways, and still the doors repeatedly swung open. It was raining heavily — I was soaked. In the end, able-bodied strangers had to physically lift the scooter in.
• Exiting the building: Two automated doors open at awkward angles, both closing aggressively while you’re trying to manoeuvre. It’s like a slapstick routine, except humiliating instead of funny. Again, I had to rely on strangers to help.
• Main lifts: Only two of the three can fit a small scooter. When I finally reached my floor, I discovered walls jutting out so close to the lift doors that I literally couldn’t get out. Cue a 15-point turn while other guests looked on — and yet again, people had to lift the scooter sideways to free it.
• Corridor and room: Two heavy manual fire doors block the way, one of which opens toward you — physically impossible to manage in a wheelchair. Other hotels keep these open and link them to the fire alarm system. Not here. No thought given to disabled independence.
• Inside the room: I couldn’t enter without someone holding the door open and moving furniture. I lost count of the number of times I had to flag down strangers in the corridor for help.
• Leaving the floor: Getting a working lift was a nightmare. The call system kept sending the two inaccessible lifts over and over again. I was stranded for nearly 20 minutes because the one usable lift refused to respond.
The result: zero independence, zero dignity, and a constant sense of being a problem to be managed rather than a guest to be accommodated. My friends were horrified. I was humiliated.
⸻
Conclusion: A total disgrace
Between the restaurant manager’s sneering attitude and the hotel’s blatant disregard for accessibility, this place is unfit for purpose. It fails both basic hospitality standards and the legal requirements of the Equality Act 2010.
Premier Inn markets itself as “reliable and comfortable.” This was neither. It was degrading, exhausting, and at times dangerous.
I have written to both Premier Inn headquarters and their disability team. Neither has had the decency to reply — which says everything about their priorities.
Avoid this hotel at all costs — and if you are disabled or have mobility needs, do not even attempt it. It is a humiliating ordeal waiting to happen.
- Robert (10/5): - Nice room and very clean
- 5907Ric (6/5): Mediocre Hotel - Comfortable bed, quiet room, good Wi-Fi, and friendly staff. We were expecting to have an early dinner but were informed that we needed to book in advance, resulting in us travelling to another venue for food. It would have been helpful if the need to book the restaurant for early dinners was highlighted on the website. Unfortunately, a dirty towel had been left hanging behind the bathroom door by the previous occupants. We thought the price was high for a mediocre hotel.
- lavender470 (10/5): Great location and comfort - Very comfortable and the Plus Room was great. Will definitely use the Plus rooms again. Breakfast was very good.
The Premier Inn on George Street was ideal location for University of Strathclyde graduation ceremony. Also close to good restaurants etc and city centre.
- C M (10/5): - Overnight stay to get to airport early. Will probably not stay again due to automated check in process.
- T3235FLkarenm (10/5): Fantastic meal and stay. - Great location for hydro events, great staff, clean hotel, comfy beds, and great prices. Plenty of choice at breakfast and hot food consistently freshly added.
- amberw3833 (8/5): Solid Place to Stay in City Centre - I recently took a multi-country trip across Europe and am reviewing all accommodations from that trip in a standard manner. As an invisibly disabled woman who travelled solo, my review will consider those factors.
Staff/Booking/Communications
I booked directly through Premier Inn’s website and found the site easy to use. Reminder emails were generally helpful, although prebooked early check-in did not show in communications, creating confusion for me. On arrival, I was an hour early and a room was not available, however staff were happy to stow my luggage for me after a long transatlantic flight so I could take a walk and indeed squeeze in an art gallery prior to check in and a well deserved nap. Staff explained hotel features etc pleasantly and accurately.
Accessibility of Facility
The entry involves stairs (a short flight) which wasn’t fun to lug a large suitcase up with a torn rotator cuff. There may have been one of those lifts you need to get someone to help you use, but I find people get judgy of you asking when you’re invisibly disabled and I was also pretty tired. However, the facility was otherwise accessible with lifts. The numerous fire doors made for some awkward navigation in halls with bags. Shower was walk-in and easy to navigate.
Room
For the reasonable pricing, the room was quite pleasant and spacious (I chose a premium) and had a fridge (can’t say that about more upscale places I stayed, which irks me about them). TV was a bit annoying to work with, however a minor quibble. The bed was comfortable and temperature control easy to sort to a happy place. I had a room at the end of a hall and higher floor and slept in quiet despite being street facing.
Bathroom/Toiletries
Free shampoo is always a win. The shower had decent water pressure and good room to navigate/bring out belongings.
Area Safety/Features/Location
The hotel was pretty centrally located, and I walked to the majority of sights I wished to see. Plenty of food options nearby, including across the street. The hotel is near a university campus and major rail hub, convenient for connecting to other cities (how I got to Edinburgh) as well as getting there from airport. I felt as safe as a city girl feels late at night (reasonable cautions used, I never felt in danger)
Overall
This is a great value pick for a solo traveler or couple wanting to see major sights/needing a central launch pad to explore Glasgow. Premium rooms in particular are a great choice.
- DoktorbPR1 (8/5): Positive - Needed a bed and this was very well placed (and priced).
Five-to-ten minutes walk from Queen Street station, on flat ground, with crossings at entrance. Steps entrance, a wheelchair lift is available.
Self-service check-in, which seemed to get crowded very quickly because of the location in relation to the bar. I watched a couple walk away from the bar in a bit of a huff because of something related to them not being checked in yet, so maybe something to watch out for. Staff were attentive.
My room was clean, spacious, and quiet. No complaints.
It's a five-ish minute walk to High Street station if that's the direction you're going in.
- lcrozierm (8/5): Poor check-in at 4.45 - many rooms not ready - You need to up your game when there are gigs on at the Ovo! Being told your room was not ready to check into at 4.45 is not acceptable after travelling and hour and a half to get there. Attitude of member of staff on check in desk beside the automated check in terminals was appalling actually saying out loud 'I don't care'. We were offered a double room with a pull out bed not acceptable for two mature ladies, and room was paid for in advance. Danielle came to our aid and had us sorted within 5 minutes of our complaint in a calm and professional manner. She also helped with the loan of a charger for my phone which needed charged. Room great after problem sorted, and lovely breakfast overlooking the water.
Perhaps more housekeeping staff required for these busy turnarounds.
- Tootsweet74 (10/5): Great location - This is our second visit to the Premier Inn Pacific Quay in Glasgow. It’s an ideal location if you are going to a concert in the Ovo Hydro, as we did, which is a 5 minute walk across the bridge. City centre is around 15/20 minute walk. The hotel is spacious and clean, rooms are clean and comfortable. The bar dining area is large with plenty of tables for dining or just having a drink. We didn’t have lunch or an evening meal in the restaurant but we did have breakfast which was fine. Good selection of continental and cooked breakfast. My only criticism would be the cooked breakfast items weren’t as hot as I’d like. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again.
- NazarSun7 (8/5): Overnight stay before holiday - Had a one night stay here bfore flying out early morning from Glasgow.
Stay friendly, check in quick and easy and room was clean and comfortable. Had a few drinks in the bar but didn't eat food as had already eaten and we were checking out before breakfast. Would recommend, around a 7 minute walk to the airport terminal
- 306graemeh (8/5): Very handy for the airport. - Check-in was quick & simple. Room spotlessly clean & quiet, and only a short walk to airport check-in.
Only downside was when we ordered drinks with our meal. The food was brought out 15/20mins after ordering but still no sign of our drinks, which was the first drinks we’d ordered . Left it a minute in case they were still on the way & had to chase them up - still waited a couple of minutes & were 1/2 way through our meal by the time our 1st drinks came.
Otherwise all good.
- Getaway38420044956 (10/5): Great location - Stayed at the Premier Inn due to its proximity to the SECC complex. The location is superb and value for money is reasonable.
Rooms are clean and all of the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Food choices for breakfast and evening meal are extensive and the quality is good.
Would recommend this hotel.
- durhamwasp (10/5): Good as usual - Good room, good meal options and nice food. 7 minutes walk to check in, and excellent deal with the nearby Flying Scot car park.
Restaurant is understaffed, meaning it's frustratingly slow as staff are trying to take orders/serve orders/check people into hotel all at the same time. Best to email hotel and make a reservation for restaurant.
- Willowcat74 (6/5): Many positives but not great overall - I think I might be erring on the side of generosity with this review as so many of the staff, particularly the lady that checked us in were fantastic. So welcoming, personable and even as we left the staff maintaining the rooms were friendly and cheerful. Unfortunately the whole room stank of damp and we wondered if the number of open windows we saw when we left indicated this wasn’t an isolated issue. The meal deal is incredible value and you know it won’t be the highest quality at those prices but my husband really enjoyed his. My soup was cold and when I let a member of staff know it was swiftly microwaved and returned (no problem with that at the prices) but was then met with a waitress stood over us barking out the name of our main courses which she held aloft while we still had starter plates in front of us. A bit odd. We did move our used plates to the side as she put the mains down and disappeared without a word. Not sure if that was someone having a bad day or whether there’s some etiquette to clearing tables we weren’t aware of but didn’t leave a positive impression. Wouldn’t hurry back despite the positive initial impressions (and well done to whoever hired the person manning reception - she’s fab!)
- KurtnJoe (10/5): Premier Glasgow experience - Great location, walking distance to car rentals and airport. Friendly staff and comfortable room. It was great to have the breakfast deal.
- 293catsc (2/5): Don’t stay here - Awful, tired, scruffy and lack of staff, the staff that were there were pretty useless, customer service is very bad.
Eat somewhere else, food awful.
- 505pamp (2/5): Allocated a filthy premier plus room - Having stayed in plenty of Premier Inns previously including this one I was looking forward to it. How disappointing it was. The room was filthy, thick dust on all surfaces, dirty fridge inside and out. Dirty coffee machine and hair in bathroom sink. Skirting boards and wall splashed with coffee and the carpet was disgusting. Keep in mind this was a premier plus room and we paid extra for the privilege. Had to ask for the WiFi code and decaffeinated coffee. Room came with sweets, well one sweet - not sure if it was for sharing. One of the cleaning team was helpful in rectifying our concerns however at no point did a supervisor or manager make contact to apologise - wasn’t important enough obviously that a customer had been allocated a filthy room.. The reception area furniture was also very dirty and dusty. The hotel is well overdue for a deep clean although I believe they have just finished a deep clean and passed their cleaning audit - this makes a mockery of an audit process. Whilst Premier Inns are usually of a good standard I would avoid this one.
- Bryce (8/5): - Our room smelled a bit like a gym bag, but everything else was lovely and was exactly what we needed.
- L1141AIgrahamb (10/5): Great location - Perfect location for Ovo hydro and other venues on the Clyde. Hotel was clean, tidy and everything yoy expect from a Premier Inn. Thought the car park charge (£9.50 discounted) was a bit cheeky especially as you've paid to stay there! Spoke to reception after having problems with the app your asked to use, several other guests had similar problems too being messaged telling them their parking session was due to end sooner than expected.
- Tracypopscot (8/5): A good place to stay for gigs etc - Lovely rooms in a great location, and very good value for money. The evening food was awful and service pretty bad throughout the stay, apart from Luke and Holly who were very helpful.
Breakfast was good except being shouted at for not taking an allergy document, despite my allergy not being included in it (had checked it before dinner).
Would stay again as it’s cheap and handy, but will bring sandwiches.
- hevskipevski (6/5): Could be better. Some cheaper hotels are a better deal - 1. Firstly, I was soaked to the skin when I checked in, and there was nowhere, no way, or nothing to dry my clothes on, because you’ve got ridden of radiators, and just have stupid air source heating. So I had to put wet clothes on in the morning, despite having aired them out all night in my room. And had to have the heating on high.
2. There was no bath. I don’t like showers, I like baths. I thought all Premier Inn’s had baths?
3. The Freeview TV was terrible. How does Premier Inn think it’s Premier when you have only Freeview and not Sky or BT or something with lots of different channels. It took ages to change channels and I couldn’t get the menu to come up at all. It might be a big screen TV but it was so unresponsive and rubbish. If you charge people for better TV in a premium room that is disgusting, should be available for everyone.
4. And of course as usual the WIFI was poor unless you pay.
5. No Hot Chocolate sachets.
Honestly the Argyll Guest House and Hotel over in Kelvingrove is better (and the Sandyford), in their Budget Basic Single room, alright that place might not have a bath either, or hot chocolate sachets. But it has a largish TV and easy to flip through the channels, and the wifi is 50mbps for free. And a free breakfast. And a comfy bed. And a radiator to dry things on. And at least they have ginger biscuits….
The only reason I went here was for convenience at night after a trip on the Waverley. It’s good for that. You can just check in, it’s nearby. But I didn’t have any food this time. Just a disappointment RE baths, the TV and not having anywhere to dry my clothes.
- ID0450 (6/5): Premier Don’t Want to Employ Staff. It shows. - Let’s leave aside the inadequate bedroom hanging and shelf space, what’s really disappointing is that Premier is trying to run this hotel with less than adequate staff levels. No-one was at reception to welcome guests when we arrived or most other times we passed. Instead there were impersonal machines which were good at throwing room cards on the floor but hopeless at picking them up. A email had offered a room upgrade for a price - ‘just ask at reception on arrival’- but how can you ask a machine? Similarly there was no-one at the restaurant entrance to greet and take money because staff were also expected to clear up. One could have had a free breakfast if dishonest. Oh, and the breakfast berries were a solid frozen mass impossible to break up and eat presumably because the kitchen was too undermanned to organise thawing.
If Premier can’t be bothered to employ people to provide minimum service levels then it may find travellers can’t be bothered to stay. We used to be Premier regulars - not any more, thanks to a previous bad experience made worse by a customer service organisation whose function is clearly to drive customers away. The staffing situation at Pacific Quay suggests the company is intent on continuing its downwards trajectory.
- Tom (10/5): - Location to airport was excellent. Express bus from Glasgow center to airport is very efficient. We were able to walk to the hotel from the bus drop off point, no problem. I would suggest a dinner reservation for folks staying at the hotel. Very busy restaurant.
- jackiemS1853EL (10/5): Highly recommended - Very handy for the Exhibition Centre. Easy to get there by bus or car. Clean room, very friendly staff. Have stayed here quite a few times and booked to stay again shortly for a concert at the Hydro.
- jamesfS6991HF (2/5): Bad customer service - Left an expensive coat in the room (that was silly). Checked out - an hour later realised what I’d done - sent them an email the same day - 4 days later, no response… Returned to the hotel at the end of my trip, asked them to check lost property, they found nothing, they then asked for my contact details as ‘some of the cleaners are off today’ - if they’d have responded to their emails, the last step wouldn’t have been necessary - don’t know how I’m going to collect my coat all the way from London if they find it - 0/5 customer service.
- stevedU3221FJ (4/5): practical jokes and poor restaurant service - Practical jokes and poor service ruined our stay, we had booked here as we do a lot, as we were attending an event at the ovo hydro. We had no issues with check in as we used a terminal, we walked the long corridor to our room (constantly expecting to see twins on trikes at some point!), we decided to have a cup of tea once we got into the room, my partner picked up the kettle only to find that some joker thought it would be funny to cover the kettle handle in black sharpie! the handle is also black so it wasn't noticeable, they also covered the rear of the teaspoons in sharpie too! I took evidence with me back to reception and spoke to the lovely lady at reception who was very apologetic and replaced our teaspoons with clean ones, we were even offered another kettle or a different room, i politely declined as I just wanted to make them aware that it had happened. However dinner service was a different story. We had booked for 6pm, giving us (what we thought would be) plenty time to eat before heading to the hydro as the event didn't start until 8. Service to begin with was ok, we ordered our drinks and food, after maybe a 20 minute wait we received our main course which was very good, then came the long waits, we watched customer after customer receiving their mains and desserts and paying our bills while we were being completely ignored! our plates were clearly at the edge of the table ready to removed. After much waiting my partner got the attention of a server and asked for the dessert menu (as we had paid for their meal deal), our order for dessert was taken after another 10 minutes of waiting, by this time we were watching the clock as it was now approaching 7.30pm! we decided after almost another 10 minutes to ditch the desserts and leave! We were not the only ones who left dissapointed either.
Normally the quality of service in this hotel is excellent, the front of house staff are always great but the restaurant staff were a complete letdown, there was a queue for the buffet in the morning as there was hardly any hot food available.
We are returning in a couple of weeks but won't be having dinner in the restaurant.
Very dissapointed in the poor service from the restaurant staff..
- B1137VRpeterf (6/5): Acceptable......(just) - Acceptable accommodation for events at the SEC & OVO Hydro. Chairs in restaurant stained & dirty, tables tacky with old varnish. Vending machines horrendously expensive.
Public transport into city is not close at hand.
Staff do their best with what they've got but this "budget" hotel needs a refresh. Premier Inn used to be quite affordable, but they're now quite expensive these days for what you get.
- colin (10/5): - Close to airport 5 min walk - checked in on shift handover and staff were snotty and dismissive.
Afternoon staff were pros vs early shift
- jimeV632ZV (2/5): SHOCK HORROR! Premier Inn Pacific Quay - Poor Management spoils guests hotel stay! - I have stayed many times at this hotel over the years and enjoyed it.
Wow, has it gone downhill!
The cause of the deterioration? POOR MANAGEMENT
The staff are still very nice, if you can find one, but they are clearly overworked. There just doesn't seem to be enough of them.
Prior to my visit to the hotel, I tried to call the hotel, it took several attempts over a period of days to get through.
The food in the restaurant is mediocre and akin to a microwave meal from a cheap supermarket. Sadly the cost isn't cheap supermarket.
I had some contact with the management/shift supervisor over a simple request I had made. I found them to be most unhelpful, verging on passive aggressive (you know who you are).
It's a shame that a perfectly decent hotel has been spoiled by POOR MANAGEMENT. Thankfully there are plenty more hotel options around the SECC to choose from.
- ajkedar (10/5): Perfect overnight for early flight. - Easy parking with a small charge of £4 for overnight, which we felt was fair. Pay at check in with car number plate.
Lovely friendly checkin from charming member of staff and felt our custom was welcome.
Room was spacious on second floor and spotless. Everything you could need provided with free WiFi . Comfortable bed and room quiet. Did not eat at hotel , so no views on food.
Perfect for early flight. Not that cheap but will use again for convenience and saves hassle of driving early morning as at airport.
- kimamo63 (8/5): Great hotel - We stayed one night at this hotel. Complimentary upgrade to a premier plus room and a friendly greeting upon arrival were really appreciated.
We had a really nice meal at Social, served by the lovely Hayley.
A bit tired from the outside however warm and friendly hotel.
- R1590LBcaroln (6/5): A perfectly adequate place to stay enroute but customer service has room for improvement. - Location was great. A perfect choice for catching an early flight.
Atmosphere was fine, nothing special but perfectly OK.
The room was a good size, clean and the bed was very comfortable. We were told at reception that the new menu would be in our room and it wasn't. There was also only one towel for two people so we had to get another one from reception.
The service was mixed. We received a really good reception as we booked in and the receptionist was very helpful. At dinner service was lacking. We were left standing for a while to be seated, The table we were shown to wasn't clean and several of the new items on the menu were not available. Breakfast was better. The noise levels were fine and I would stay again in similar circumstances but there is definite room for improvement.
- 07070707070707 (10/5): Holiday starts as soon as you check in - Perfectly next to the airport a brilliant hotel the social area is fantastic and the food is very reasonable and the meal deal with unlimited breakfast in the morning was fantastic definitely stay here again
- Eleanor A (8/5): - I only stayed one evening waiting for my flight .
It was suitable, clean and comfortable and close to the airport.
Thank you
- capesj2025 (8/5): Overnighter - Clean and comfortable room, staff friendly, could have done with a few more staff on duty due to wait time for food and drink.
- millie482018 (10/5): Best hotel at breakfast at Glasgow Airport - Just using the hotel for flight first thing in the morning, the staff were very helpful at reception, our room was very pleasant, quiet, clean and comfortable- well above the standard of upmarket airport hotels that you pay dearly for.
Breakfast was freshly cooked and very reasonably priced, again staff are very helpful and polite.
Thanks to everyone involved in the premier inn at Glasgow Airport
- michaelpZ1679SS (10/5): Definitely will stay again - Friendly well positioned hotel with good staff and food options. Food was tasty with a good drinks selection on offer. All staff met were friendly and helpful
- TrailBlazer772182 (10/5): Perfect for Late night arrivals from airport. - Fantastic hotel, only a 5 minute walk from Glasgow airport. Great for late night arrivals. Night manager knew who I was, due to me letting hotel know I would be arriving at around 2am. Was directed to my ground floor room which was extremely comfortable and clean for my needs.
Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice, between cereals, fruit, yogurts, pastries, hot food buffet and hot and cold drinks.
- T4864AQjanicem (4/5): Not Premier Inn usual quality - Made a same day booking. Only Accessible Premier Plus room available. On arrival, entrance door and lobby grubby. Male at reception almost incoherent. Social bar/restaurant area was full and noisy at only 6.30 pm. Looked as though it was full of locals, mostly male. Luckily I brought food with me. Room was fine. However, bathroom smelt of drains, and bath slippy and unsafe. Some nice touches. Good toiletries, coffee, bottled water, iron, etc. Unfortunately no air conditioning and window had limited opening. Lift out of order in the morning and had to get help to take case down two flights of stairs. Would not recommend this Premier Inn
- James (10/5): - Enjoyed the quiet stay !
- karensE9974GB (4/5): Comfortable bed, shame about the poor restaurant service and the staff - Room comfortable with the excellent Premier Inn bed.
However, no food available in the evening unless booked well in advance. This is because the restaurant is far too small for the number of rooms. Many guests including myself refused an evening meal for this reason. We were all toke that the website stated meals have to be pre-booked. This is an airport hotel where you can’t predict your arrival time. The ‘Social’ facility is billed as 24 hours but is not.
Staff overwhelmed and rude. Barman told me to pay up and get lost. Charming.
There is a Londis at the petrol station next door for sandwich options and the staff there are at least polite and pleasant.
Avoid.
- Margaret Ruth (8/5): - Very walkable from the airport; signage from airport was great
- Jaspreet (10/5): - Walking distance to the airport. Good place to sleep before catching a flight.
- Victoria (10/5): - Great location to the airport, walking distance, with a great resturant, great options, including catering for Celiac options.
