Guest Reviews
- Nanniejo66 (4/5): Not the best stay we've had - My husband and I went for an overnight stay for a Christmas shopping trip. We were looking forward to a nice lie in, but we're working by banging well before 9, which continued until we checked out. The shower was poor with very low pressure, and the extractor didn't work. On letting reception know that we hadn't had the stay we expected, we realised that there was plumbing work underway throughout the hotel which explained the banging and low pressure. We were annoyed as there is an outside annex that you would think they would have put us with us staying for leisure.
- Sussex_Family_Guy (8/5): Comfy, well located but a bit noisy - Stayed for a Saturday night before a football match on the Sunday. Lady on reception was very efficient and friendly and the room was typical Premier Inn, very comfortable beds and decent, clean bathroom. £10.99 is pretty good value for breakfast if you're going to have a big cooked breakfast with decent hot ingredients.
The location is good for City Centre bars and restaurants and only a 20 min walk to the station and canal area or the castle.
The only thing is it is right in the middle of the University and there is a nightclub pretty close to the hotel. When that kicked out there was loud shouting and screaming for a good 20 mins right by the hotel window.
If you can handle that then I would say the location, room and service make this a decent option for a cheaper stay in Nottingham.
- 733bevm (8/5): Did the job - Stayed multiple times within a short time. Nice clean rooms, although on 2 occasions the USB sockets weren't working, and it was a little loud at times due to the proximity of the tramlines/uni. Service times in the restaurant were OK, definitely a noticeable difference in how dishes were served, as it is only a small menu, I had the same meals often, each one different each time, all really nice, just different waiting times (restaurant never busy) and presentation. The waiting team were really friendly and helpful, especially Nicola who made my visit delightful whenever she was on shift
- V8166FPsarahp (10/5): 5 stars again - Had another great stay here, very friendly staff, lovely clean room. Shame the restaurant wasn’t open but staff were very knowledgable on food available in the local area. Will definitely be back.
- mrs_lbegum (10/5): The whole place was spotless - I had a truly lovely stay at Premier Inn Birmingham Oldbury. The whole place was spotless, and the atmosphere was so welcoming from the moment we arrived. The customer service was fantastic — every member of staff was friendly, helpful, and made us feel completely at ease, especially with my kids. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and the warm, positive energy from the team really stood out. We felt comfortable, relaxed, and very well looked after throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to families and anyone looking for a pleasant and enjoyable experience. We’ll be back
- 255hassinab (10/5): Great value hotel - Great stay at Oldbury premier inn , lovely staff , room was very clean and well maintained. The hotel great value for money . When we needed some direction staff at the reception was very helpful. Would stay there again .
- roberdobdobin (4/5): Stop Hassling for Feedback on your mundane and adequate hotel. - Adequate hotel, but no more. However their constant hassling for feedback following the stay means that they score low, companies need to stop doing this, it's annoying!
I tried to offer this feedback through their own online portal but sadly it doesnt seem to allow anything other than positives. As such it's now here.
- Connector67115209567 (2/5): Dirty Toilet with Raw Human Sewage - Was in room 417, daughters in were in room 418.
The toilets had a problem and my girls had been in around 24 hours. When the toilet was flushed it overflowed and raw sewage was coming up, it looked like the sewage was from a long time. I have photos for evidence. It was disgusting and the smell was awful. The room was relocated at 11.30PM, the experience was poor.
The room was dirty, the bed was dirty, the dressing table was not cleaned. I cleaned with a wipe and was amazed at the dirt that came up.
So not happy with this stay at all.
- Sherpa20455777447 (10/5): Brilliant - Fantastic service in restaurant. Very attentive and friendly staff. Would certainly come again. Great location with neighbouring shops
- Georgiegirl1561 (2/5): Noisy and No parking - Budget hotel, Budget food, disability parking limited and at a premium price, no buffet breakfast which was included in price, instead burnt, reheated breakfast, also noisy at night due to location close to Nottingham University, only plus was the comfortable bed and clean room, we were there for a couple of nights for a concert, only booked due to location to theatre, unfortunately did not research disabled parking availability, so beware!
- shakhab2019 (10/5): Amazing customer service. - Stayed here last week, the staff we're very attentive and super helpful. Went above and beyond to meet our needs. I highly recommend this hotel to my friends and family. I shall be returning for the amazing customer service.
- ourreview_9 (6/5): A little disappointed - Overnight visit for evening out in Nottingham. Good location with several places to eat next to the hotel which is a god send as the menu prices are expensive. 20 pounds for a burger and 17 pound for a cheeseburger. This is a hotel on a retail park next to the railway not in the centre of London.
Check in was easy, parking at hotel £5 for 24 hours.
The room was ok. Not worth £120. Walls very thin, view of roof, railway and staff smoking area from window. Bathroom door wouldn’t shut unless locked and like so many hotels the hair dryer stays on by pressing a button continually. Please get rid of these.
The room was a good size with two double beds, iron and ironing board. Lots of plug sockets and tea coffee and milk. Good walk in shower although the detachable shower head wouldn’t move
Breakfast was very good. Lovely staff, lots of choice and very nice food.
- OnAir56796004966 (10/5): Had an overnight stay for football - I love the hotel was lovely and all the staff member was brilliant and. Reception Young lady and young man was brilliant and helpful
- therF2244ML (10/5): Ray is amazing - The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Ray was amazing and made me and my children feel welcome and looked after.
I would definitely return to this hotel because we were treated so well. Thanks Ray and the team for being so nice during our stay.
- HannahKate24 (4/5): Air-Con unit was very noisy - The main lobby area is tired & in need of a refresh. Unfortunately our room was right next to an air con unit (outside the room) & was therefore incredibly noisy - this ruined our stay!
- lilyw161 (10/5): Very good evening meal with professional staff. - The hotel seemed dated on arrival, however Premier Inn seem to be undertaking a lot of refurbishments so it will be very nice afterwards, and the refurbishment work didn't affect our stay.
Our evening meal was lovely one of the nicest we've ever had at a Premier Inn
Our room was lovely and warm, the heating system was easy to understand and also the window had the option to open which was great
The staff are friendly, helpful and cheerful, thankyou to 'AK' and to Neave.
- H3281VBlisaw (10/5): A great stay at Nottingham. - We stayed at the Nottingham goldsmith st premier inn on a visit to see our son in his first year at NTU. On arrival the staff on the desk were friendly and sympathetic as I queried that I had reserved parking for the car park online in advance via the JustPark app and not realised that there was a discount code which would have saved 40% on the price which was annoying . The room was very clean and comfortable as we’ve always come to expect. The only slight niggle was the lack of air conditioning in the room, so we’re glad that we were not using the room during high summer. There was a fan available which was fine for our needs. The room was quiet and we slept well in our silent night bed. We included breakfast when booking the room and this did not disappoint . A great selection of cooked items and continental selection. Staff were friendly when we left and we will definitely be returning.
- Iloveklimt (10/5): Great hotel, friendly helpful staff team - Good location near city centre. We had a premium room which had some nice extra touches. Quiet, warm and cosy. Staff team were very friendly and helpful. We had drinks and a meal in the evening and the food was really tasty and good value for money.
- Wanderer68358734609 (4/5): Well below par - Went on Halloween weekend,
Probably the worst premier Inn I've ever been to. Student blocks nearby partying until 4 am. Very loud. All felt like a freshers year dormitory. Decor well past its sell by date. Useless sound proofing.
Shower pressure very weak so not much to recommend it really. Unless you don't mind staying up all night to hear students running around revelling out on the streets and around the building.
At least its a central location but I paid £110 per night for two nights. Shocking really
- EYox (2/5): Disappointing. - Location and staff were great. Unfortunately, the room wasn't and we had a very poor night's sleep. This affected the following day, especially as we were meeting people.
The bed was terrible, there was a big dip in the middle, so my husband and I were hanging onto the sides, in the end I swapped with my son and I tried to sleep on the pull out bed. When I was lower to the floor there was a strong smell of urine coming from the carpet, unfortunately with my kids fast asleep I didn't request a change of room. In check out I raised my concerns.
The trams running alongside the hotel were loud, this kept me up. There was a damp feel to the room.
I've always loved premier inns, but this one really disappointed and if we return to Nottingham I wouldn't stay here.
- LaurenKPerks (10/5): Clean, welcoming and convenient! - Brilliant service. Lovely staff, clean and welcoming.
One of the best premier inns I've stayed in!
Would definitely recommend!
- israelsI1795FD (10/5): Business stay - Thank you - I just want to say the room was exceptionally clean, 5🌟! All the staff were kind friendly and inviting! This is a lovely Premier to stay in and I’ll definitely be coming back to stay when in this city! Thank you 🤩
- B562GMsusanb (10/5): Very clean - Cleanliness was spot on very clean room well be happy to stay again housekeeping very friendly was a pleasure staying at this site
- V9191ZPhannahb (10/5): Lovely helpful staff - Really great hotel but what makes this 5 star are the staff. They were all so friendly and welcoming. A special mention to Nicola who served us at breakfast. She was so helpful and cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Nicola!
- simoncO8816VT (10/5): Latest experience - Our regular go to hotel in Nottingham. Stay here for date nights and gigs. Yesterday's stay was excellent as usual. Check in easy, staff great, great management. Rooms always clean,we generally get a decent room rate too
- A4476QPsuzanned (10/5): Best Premier Inn ever!! - Once I found the hotel I was greeted by friendly staff.
They made me feel as though I could approach them if need be.
The room was spotless and modern with new carpet. Beautiful.
I booked breakfast. Came down the next morning to a friendly, welcoming face. The lady took my order for my cooked veggie breakfast. 10/10 for me.
Fresh food, delicious and wasn’t tight with their portions.
I will definitely recommend to my family and friends. Probably one of the best Premier Inns I’ve stayed in.
Thanks guys, I really appreciate you all
- Q2945LOmarciat (10/5): Our special occasion was recognised and we were made to feel very special by Pat and Sue - Lovely stay at this hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Happy with our room which was lovely and clean. Had a good night's sleep and was made very welcomed by Pat and Sue
- O4365XGmarkt (8/5): Great as always! - As a regular visitor to this hotel/coffee shop for work, the service is always excellent. However, I have noticed on my recent visits that the number of available staff is noticeably sparse. My visit today was as enjoyable as usual, however Costa was busy and although Joe did a great job keeping on top of things, it seemed quite unfair for her to be doing everything! I always enjoy my visits but an additional member of staff would surely help with wait times?
- 710tristiant (8/5): A warm welcome by friendly team - We stayed at this hotel while helping our daughter settle into Nottingham. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. Ben handled our check-in and was particularly helpful, providing excellent recommendations for local activities and telling us about the Goose Fair happening during our visit.
Our room was spotlessly clean and well-maintained. The food was satisfactory, though not exceptional. Overall, it was a pleasant experience that made our trip much easier.
- 270gurnamk (10/5): Very Good - Very Good stay. Had a quick check in from friendly Manager on shift. Good location and was a good breakfast in the morning will stay again
- Climber13028722410 (8/5): Nottingham visit - Hotel staff, breakfast, room all good. Location worked for us visiting Trent Bridge for cricket - not far in a taxi - free parking on site.
- Passenger615701 (4/5): Nice room but bad experience - Premier In. review
Checked in for 2 nights with the meal deal. Asked if I could possibly check in early as had come from a long way but was advised there would be a £15 charge for that. Fair enough - this was annoying and (personally) I feel if the room is ready why not let guests use them instead of milking us for more money.
On check in the staff member was friendly, room nice and bed super comfortable. There was a bath with overhanging shower in my room. The toilet seat was broken (did not realize until I sat on it and fell off and hurt myself!). I had mentioned this to the person at reception when I left for the day to hopefully get it fixed but on my return to the room that evening it had not been fixed - so stuck with a very wobbly toilet seat for my stay. Rooms have tea / coffee in as you would expect and look modern.
I was booked in for the meal deal which you get for dinner 2 courses and a drink. Fish and chips was nice on my first night as was the sundae for dessert. Breakfast was very good, the hot breakfast was freshly prepared.
My second dinner the service was not the best, the chap who served dinner could see I was busy and he brought over my starter (calamari - which was not very hot) and instead of putting it on the table was holding it in front of me to take from him and put down. Pretty poor that I think.
I spoke with the “duty manager” about this on Thursday evening who told me she could not do anything but give me guests relations number. I called them and they were closed and advised to use their website on the pre recorded line. I tried to leave “feedback” on the site but this would not submit. I informed reception and asked if they would let the manager know so still up in the air with that.
Hotel is located close to plenty of shops like a big sainsburys, Argos, B and M, Lidl, McDonalds.
All in all not a terrible stay but I have to say I am disappointed how the faulty toilet seat and my injury was treated and not rectified adequately as well as the poor dinner on Thursday 9th October 2025. I would have rated higher if the issues would have been rectified
- kitwP2246GE (10/5): Great stay and friendly restaurant staff - Lovely room and friendly staff
The restaurant staff especially Natalie and T where so helpful and friendly, I would happily come back just to see them.
Will be staying again.
- Oozells_oozells (6/5): Fair - Pricey stay. Room was spacious but not the cleanest premier inn have stayed in. Very convenient location for city centre facilities though. Despite double and secondary glazing had poor sleep due to noise outside - people and music until well after 3am! Take earplugs!
- davidcE842FA (8/5): Spoiled by extortionate parking charges - Hotel was very good, but parking managed by YourParkingSpace was extortionate, £25 overnight, after “discount” of £2. There must be cheaper or free on street parking within reasonable walking distance.
- M1658RChannahf (10/5): Brilliant, lovely room. Slept so well and lovely breakfast - Natalie and T were absolutely and fantastic at breakfast, so friendly and welcoming. We felt so looked after.
Also the lovely lady on Reception we arrived Saturday 4th October
- V426RWjohannesg (8/5): Best way to start a day - Awesome buffet and a lovely angel taking care of people with allergies. She even brought all cleaned cutlery for our allergic friend. Great for vegans as well.
- hannahlP8945CW (10/5): Great stay - Recently stayed at this Premier Inn for a few nights and was impressed with house keeping. Very clean room and friendly team. Look forward to staying again.
- Dave_Luxon (10/5): Pit-stop to Gretna Green - We stopped at the Premier Inn Nottingham Marina as a Pit Stop to Gretna Green, we have stayed in a lot of these Hotels in our time, and were very impressed by the staff here. The were informative, friendly and exceptional with the customers needs, We mentioned that we were stopping there as a break before we went onwards to get Married, whilst out nosing around Nottingham we returned to our room to find an Ice Bucket and Fizz…how thoughtful, thank you Stacey and the rest of the team….an excellent job!!
- AshishMac (6/5): Quiet and accessible to city centre via a pleasant canal walk - Usual quiet, cost effective place with a GeniePoint car charger and close to canal walks. The cleaning staff reneged on the reception’s agreement for a late check out which was disappointing. The restaurant is only open for breakfast.
- paulrI7981DX (10/5): Great stay - Had a brilliant stay, Tracey was a gem on our first night and Mo on the second. Rooms are fantastic and would definitely stay again from Mr room 103. Thank you
- A6189KRheatherd (8/5): Lovely breakfast. - Rooms were comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was really good. Natalie took care of our large group and the rest of the breakfast crowd on her own with grace and efficiency. Big shout out to her.
- 391dwainw (8/5): Marina’s customer service - Marina was very helpful and made us feel very welcome. She made our experience special. She checked on us to see how our meal was and made us feel that she genuinely wanted to make us feel comfortable.
- stelyo2017 (10/5): Nice to see my usual refuge is getting a makeover - Although the hotel was being refurbished disruption was kept to a minimum. Stacey on reception was extremely helpful and ensured everything went smoothly. The refurbished rooms are a definite and much needed improvement.
- karlhR6279FU (10/5): Outstanding stay at the Premiere Inn, Nottingham Castle Marina. - What a brilliant experience, Stacey and her team made our stay amazing and the rooms are beautiful. Amazing service, amazing team, 5 star experience.
- 550ayeshab (10/5): Excellent stay - Had a lovely stay at this premier inn. The team here are fantastic, always going over and beyond to help. The manager aswell is lovely and a delight. Will definitely stay here again.
- K6633PKalexn (10/5): Brilliant service! - Brilliant service from the whole team. Niamh has served me in the restaurant over the past few days and has been amazing - thank you Niamh. Thank you all for great food and great service, and a brilliant new menu.
- jamesjH4140YZ (10/5): Very handy location - Very pleasant 1 night stay, reception staff very friendly and professional and knowledgeable of the local area, unfortunately restaurant under a make over, but a complimentary takeaway breakfast was provided.
- L9338TWjohnd (10/5): Premier inn - Great staff, all very friendly. Nice comfortable room and a good nights sleep. Good location for the Black Country museum
- mohammadkE1274OO (6/5): Good! - All in all good. Wasn't pleased with when the receptionist asked for my Nationality although she knew I wasn't a foreigner and upon my asking she said it is standard but I have stayed in many Premier In and Travel lodges and no one has ever asked this question!!!
The room needed a little more ventilation or air freshener!
- 156wh (2/5): Not that Premier. - The hotel has no restaurants as it’s being renovated. The room absolutely stank of sewerage which was reported and I was told that the pipes was backed up so they will drop a tablet in the tank..? They put a fan on in the room to get rid of the smell. It doesn’t. If on ground floor be prepared to have no sleep as anyone above will make noise as the floorboards are that creaky. Awful nights sleep.
- shans417 (6/5): Staff is good but hotel is outdated - Staff is very good & helpful, our room was very warm window only open 6inch or so, mattress need replacing & free Internet they advertise barely work, parking spaces are good. Room was clean.
- harveyl931 (10/5): Lovely stay - Lovely food in the restaurant, brilliant clean room quiet area and brilliant staff really friendly, would recommend stay.
- J4854ELdawnh (10/5): Great stay - always a good stay .Lauren was very helpful, informative and friendly. Hotel was clean and tidy. Food was nice. Overall a lovely stay
- Q1061TBleahs (10/5): Pleasure - i am very happy with the service i received. i was served by Lauren, she was very helpful, friendly & knew exactly how to help. she was very informative in explaining procedures to us. over all very happy, have visited before in the past & will continue to visit again.
- Compass65407525619 (4/5): Staff Great - Stayed overnight for visit to Black Country Museum. Stayed in plenty of Premier Inns before but sadly this is probably the worst of them all. Staff were friendly and helpful but hotel itself is tired and dated. I believe it's due a refurbishment that is greatly needed. Rooms were ridiculously hot with no air-conditioning just a fan spinning next to bed. Only one socket next to beds. Restaurant was virtually empty and on arrival was told there is no beer on tap and plenty of menu items unavailable. Again staff were excellent. I understand at the price you pay you don't expect luxury but this really wasn't great. Maybe an email to say about an upcoming refurbishment or advice when booking may have made us a bit more prepared.
- NNormands (4/5): Disappointed. - They are obviously running the place down before a refurb , no beer in the bar not all meals available , mouldy food between the seating in the restaurant. I felt sorry for the staff who were constantly apologising but doing a great job. My room was dated , no sockets at side of the bed. 30 degrees in the room. No air con.
- Z4583LNpaulr (10/5): Great stay - Lovley hotel friendly team. Me and my family enjoyed our stay. Team in the restaurant always smiling and the service was great. Had breakfast hot tasty and fresh served by the lovely Jemma her service was great always smiling and checking on us to make sure everything was ok and that we were happy. Would definatly visit again
- dennissO3428YI (2/5): Would not return to this Premier inn - Restaurant totally dysfunctional, this was the experience throughout our stay. Restaurant decor totally minging, chairs tables and upholstery.
- Global03463430396 (10/5): Wonderful room, wonderful people - The room was lovely, the staff were honestly incredibly kind and helpful, would 100% stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area.
