Guest Reviews
- Leslie (6/5): - The refrigerator in my room did not work. I’ve also found the remotes for the TV’s at the Premiere Inn’s seem to always have issues. Other than that I love this hotel chain. Always feel safe and the rooms are clean. Great location!!!! Would recommend
- Robwalkrail (10/5): Nice overnight stay in Bath - Spent the night in this City Centre Premier Inn Hotel - Room pleasant, bed very comfortable with additional pillows in the room if required. The Breakfast (full English option) was also excellent. Hotel is on edge of centre in good location and is a 5-7 minute walk from Bath Spa railway station.
- V3701IQsharong (10/5): Great - Stayed here for a short business trip and was very pleased. Had a great sleep and food was good. Staff were great and room was clean.
- LynseyW725 (10/5): Brilliant location- great hotel - Very central hotel. Came with friends to go to the Christmas market and the thermae spa and the Roman baths. All very close. Perfecto location. Rooms were great - we asked for two twin interconnecting rooms - which we had. Check in was good with the very helpful and polite Estee. We had breakfast both days which was a good selection and everything u needed accept bowls that we had to wait for both days for breakfast - but a minor thing considering how busy it was. Staff were very busy and it seems they needed a few more members as they were rushed off their feet - everyone seemed to doing dual roles all the team were very polite and helpful if u needed anything. On our second night we decided to eat in the restaurant - which was good. We had a slight issue where a meal had to be sent back and there seems to be a lack of vegetables ,but the meal was replaced that was sorted quickly by Lily. Despite being very busy at times all staff were very cheerful and helpful. Would definitely recommend and definitely come again.
Location brillaint -
Walking distance for the train.
Staff amazing -
Shout out to Lilly and Estee.
- suesJ2691MP (8/5): Not up to the usual standard - The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful and the hotel was clean. However it was noisy with other guests coming and going and the room was very gloomy as only 2 of the ceiling bulbs worked and the bedside lights were very dim . The usb charge point was broken.
- F1722QWjayh (10/5): A great stay, as promised. - I stayed with my partner and as always, had a lovely time. The rooms are good value for money and you can expect a great night's sleep, with a good breakfast waiting for you across the road.
The only letdown is the service upon arrival as we had to wait a good bit to see someone in the lobby and they were hard to understand.
Other than that, I would highly recommend.
- chis446 (10/5): Amazing - Amazing stay nice clean hotel , we had a lovely room good location lots around to do easy access to facilities . Very friendly , processional helpful staff . Parking free which is great .
- D9060SCjacobw (10/5): Worth a swing. - I met a nice elderly man in my local farm shop. He advised me about a swing club in the city of bath. Ive never done anything like that so I was curious. He assured me that single men were welcome. He simply said ‘why wouldn’t they be’. So I booked the premier inn in Bath city. I arrived at the hotel and it was nice and staff was lovely. Before leaving my home to travel I went shopping. I bought leather trousers and a dog lead for the swing club just so I could fit in with the vibe. On the night i admit I was nervous. I left the hotel wearing my leather trousers and dog lead and made my way to the club. When I arrived I was shocked! I payed £10 entry and walked into the main room. It was just a dozen elderly people sitting on swings! Like play park swings! I felt soooo stupid in my dog lead and leather trousers. Hotel and staff was nice though.
- kierang670 (8/5): Guest - Really good stay while traveling for work staff all very friendly and helpful, nothing was to much trouble for them at all
- stevehQ4223LF (10/5): Great location, great staff, great experience - Great location, right in the city centre! Very friendly staff, very clean rooms, and overall excellent value for what we paid. Any issues were sorted out really quickly, and overall it made for a very pleasant stay in Bath for all of us.
- liviatoso (10/5): Best Premier Inn I've seen so far! - The Premier Inn in Bath is excellent. It's right at the centre of the city which makes access easy to all sights but luckily it's also silent, there's no noise coming through the windows. Bedroom and bathroom were big for this type of hotel, very spacious. The hotel was a whole was very clean anf staff was friedly and hospitable, we left our bags there before check-in and after check-out without hassle. Breakfast was delicious and cooked with much care, lots of different food options.
- Cappyfarm (4/5): Poor condition - Our room was poorly maintained.
The bathroom extraction fan did not work so the walls were wet and the skirting boards rotting.
The bath plug was broken and taps dirty.
The fan unit in the room was not working so the room was hot and uncomfortable.
The cups provided to drink from were dirty.
- U2574GIlaurenm (10/5): Excellent - Nice room, clean and spacious and had all the necessary amenities. Good location, would stay again and will recommend to others in the area.
- damientL4982JU (10/5): comfortable and clean - Car park was big enough for my Van without blocking anyone and was all on cctv( i checked with staff) room was comfortable and clean and staff were helpful and check was speedy. i was tired after a long day so appreciated that. locked myself out and had to ask for another key again staff were friendly and wasn’t an issue. will look forward to future visits throughout the months.
- roemanib (10/5): M - I traveled here on a business trip. One of the members of the team members called Dawn was very helpful and accommodating and made my experience great.
- tdsteele71 (4/5): Not the best experience. - The good points were that the staff were really friendly and the room was very clean. The bad part was the walls are very thin and I could hear the conversations clearly from both the adjoining rooms late at night, which affected my sleep considerably. Additionally, the toilet began making loud noises by itself early each morning around 6:30. I recorded the noises it was making, as they didn't stop until I got up and flushed the toilet, and then about 5 minutes later, the noise started again. I informed the reception and they said that it would be fixed on the first day of my stay. It was not fixed whilst I was staying there. I have stayed a few Premier Inns and have always been happy with my stay but unforuately I will be thinking very carefully before I book in one again.
- CatsWhiskers_10 (6/5): Needs TLC - Location is great however rooms are looking tired, broken toilet seat, fan didn’t work, rough old towels, not great for £150.
We ate at the on-site restaurant. Food tasted ok however the chef, although on show to the restaurant, rolled his eyes as a reaction to a request to have sauce on the site, shook bacon backwards and forwards touching his dirty looking chefs jacket in the process and just before my burger was served, picked off the lid of the bun, starting picking black bits off of it and then put it back on for serving. Not a great experience at all.
If you are going to have the kitchen on show make sure the cooks do it right!
- D1793YBkevins (6/5): Mixed bag - Good: carpark easy access. Bed, good night's sleep.
Not so good: No lift
Bad: Shower was cold water only, and dreadful breakfast.
- nexts2024 (2/5): LOOK AT ROOM B4 PAYING - Room smelt awful also shown a 2nd room was just as bad, unfortunately have to pay first but did not stay
Spoke to manager and asked for a refund, unfortunately has to be done via head office online. Word of advice LOOK AT ROOM B4 PAYING UPFRONT
- siano400 (8/5): Great city hotel - Very clean right near town
Only problem was the curtain to the shower wasn't good and the floor got extremely wet
Paint was chipped in the bathroom near the floor
- sophiepY4600YM (10/5): Great - Really lovely staff. Rooms were nice and clean. Bed was really nice. Had a great night sleep. Atmosphere was really nice and calming. Location is nice.
- L3123RQchriss (2/5): No amenities paid for, boiling room, no sleep. - Unfortunately an incredibly uncomfortable stay at the usually reliable Premier Inn.
Paying extra for the premium room, we got a broken fridge so no cold water.
No treats.
And the room was stifling with no aircon and openable window - so got basically no sleep whatsoever.
- J4521LDjennys (10/5): Lily is incredible! - The room was average, no real issues what so ever. However I wanted to leave a review purely based on Lily in the Bar & Block restaurant. She is incredible! By far the best service (and warmth) we have ever received and would return purely based on her. She is an absolute credit to your team!
- SarahOSouth (8/5): Good stopover - A large Premier Inn close to Basingstoke, next to a Beefeater, cinema, ice rink and other leisure activities. Lots of stairs and long corridors to our room, so ask for something closer to reception if you have mobility issues; there is no lift. Staff were lovely. The room was fine, a little noisy at times, but ok.
- Flyer56993605991 (6/5): Dirty rooms. - Booked a 1 family room for two nights and a 1 family room extra for the 2nd nights we had family join us. Was charged for three individual nights rather than the discounted rate agreed. Customer service call was no better. Stayed at many premier inns. These guys didn’t care. Room smells of smoking. Bed spread was stained. Bathroom still dirty. Not worth £250+ per night. Never using again.
- susie036 (10/5): Beautiful Bath - Everything was wonderful. Staff could not be more helpful and Breakfast was gr8. Room a little tired, needs painting but beds were very comfortable. We all had a goid nights sleep
- Pierre (10/5): - Tout était parfait
- E3547SHdavida (10/5): Good straightforward value - Straightforward Premier Inn experience, clean, comfortable and efficient and reasonably priced. No car parking on the premises, but this is always a problem in central Bath.
- WAN SHU (10/5): - All very good
- lauras02819 (10/5): *5 stay - Stayed at the premier inn Basingstoke West a week ago with my son whilst visiting family in the area.
Check in was easy and the staff were really welcoming. They told my son about the ice rink near by which of course we visited and they booked us in for breakfast the next morning and also aloud my family to join us.
Our room was spotless and everything we needed was available even an extra pillow which I requested.
Breakfast the next morning was spot on as my son eats so much there was alot to choose from and the staff again were friendly and helpful. The hotel manager (I think called jason) stopped and spoke to us and asked how our stay was he took time to speak to my child which was nice and said if there's anything we need to just ask him. Not very often you get to see the manager in hotels, very professional and polite.
We had a lovely stay and when I visit in the future il be sure to book into this hotel again.
- nsfo2019 (4/5): Disappointing Stay at Premier Inn Bath — Poor Quality for the Price - Pros:
• Great location, close to major attractions
• Breakfast tastes good
• Standard Premier Inn experience overall
Cons:
• Very poor soundproofing; noisy at night due to the pub downstairs
• Bathroom was old and had a bad smell
• No cups provided for rinsing
• Old, worn-out towels
• Air conditioning available only upon request
• Only one staff member at the lobby
• Staff seemed inattentive to food quality (e.g. rotten bananas at breakfast)
• Only one power socket by the bed — very inconvenient
• Price was not cheap, yet quality was the worst Premier Inn I’ve stayed in
• Surprisingly poor standards for a hotel in a tourist city like Bath — really disappointing
- edcD1338XQ (10/5): Outstanding staff and situation handling - I had a really warm welcome from reception, I felt at home. Had a couple small issues with the room however how the manager handled it deserves them not to loose any stars
Would definitely come back again
Couldn't fault anything
- shelleyt717 (4/5): You Get What You Pay For - To be fair we were just looking for a bed which we got (love Premier Inn beds). It was very uninspiring, tired and smelt gross. The lift floors were visually dirty all weekend and the corridors were very smelly. Staff were friendly enough and we didn't really need much. Have stayed in a number of Premier Inns and this is not one I would recemmend or return to. Also, recommended offsite parking is a significant walk with luggage and costs considerably more than advertised on the website. The smell was the worst.
- N2584NNjohnt (10/5): Back to Bath - Spent 3 nights in Bath and as the many times we've stayed before we're not disappointed.
Hotel is clean and staff friendly.
Katie receptionist and Kasia
breakfast waitress were fantastic
- macroberts (6/5): Perfectly located - Hotel well positioned in central Bath, walking distance to everything. No issues but lacks a little atmosphere and character. As a room to stay no issues but pretty no frills.
- MaryAnn (10/5): - This is the second Premier Inn I have stayed at and found them to be
- mariamL3880ID (10/5): Relaxing stay - It was very relaxing atmosphere we went for a day out with the kids to the museum which is not too far from…
The room was clean and had everything you need.
The staff was welcoming and attentive.
Very good surprise for the value of the money
- stuarte518 (6/5): Cold Breakfast - The reception was very clean and bright, staff very nice. Our room was on the back, really dark and depressing.
The food at the restaurant next door was ok the evening we arrived, but the breakfast at 8.30am was very sparse and all cold. I did mention it to a waitress and she apologised, the restaurant was cold also.
- Passport61986374185 (6/5): Hmmm?? - Arrived early but thought we would ask anyway. Older couple were at the desk asking about paying. They were rudely told why are you asking that, your rooms aren't ready anyway. So we didn't bother to ask. Came back at 3pm checkin time. Two people now on the desk . The rude one now nice as pie 😂😂.
Room a bit dated. Shower poor but it was just a bed that we needed. Probably one of the worst we have stayed in but for the price can't complain.
Pub next door that's another story. If it's nothing to do with premier inn I apologise but the bar staff do not want to be there. Ten o'clock Saturday night was told last orders . Sunday night wouldn't serve us as was shutting at 9 45. This was with plenty of people still spending money. Need to learn some of the hospitality we have up north.
- 25damonc (10/5): Lovely little hotel - Oh what a lovely little hotel, the lady on reception was so friendly and helpful no waiting to check in. The hotel seemed clean in the corridors and the room was so much bigger than other hotels we have stayed in. The room was clean and fresh but the bathroom needs more attention in cleaning and general upkeep. The breakfast was not attached to the hotel but that was not an issue.
- Connector800178 (6/5): Poor breakfast - The hotel is showing its age. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful, and dealt immediately with a problem we had with the room. The room we had was rather dark, with unpleasant colour walls, but as always a comfortable bed and clean bathroom. We did have issue with the breakfast I didn’t have breakfast as I was unwell, but my husband said it was unpleasant, not a Premier Inn breakfast. The eggs were rubbery, the bacon was dried up and had been on the hotplate to long. The sausages were nice though. The tea , coffee and toast were down the other end of quite a large dining are, he thought they should have another toast and coffee and tea near to the buffet. All in all it was one night and it served our purpose.
- Kerry (4/5): - Left over smoke smell and if your into old antiquated things toilet plugged they will bring a bucket of water to flush down your loo then tell you its fine
- vickyhT2709CS (10/5): Near ifly hotel - Great clean comfortable hotel very close to ifly in Basingstoke great living museum within walking distance and good choice of-food nearby
- Kate (10/5): - Lovely front desk lady l, extremely helpful
- Q5682JNstephent (6/5): Worst Premier Inn breakfast ever - Hotel room was adequate but Bathroom was in need of a little TLC around the skirting boards but it was clean and tidy
We did book on arrival breakfast for both days on the first day was told there was no cooked breakfast and on the second the so called cooked breakfast was cold!
- Seaside15507180356 (10/5): Lovely place - Was very clean and tidy, the staff are friendly an polite! Checking in was quick an easy, the room service was great would recommend to everyone!!
- Jet53900841701 (10/5): Great! - Had such a lovely stay at Premier Inn Bedford South! The staff were really friendly and welcoming which made checking in easy. The room was clean comfy and had everything we needed. The bed was so comfortable, I had one of the best night’s sleep I’ve had in ages. Would definitely come back and happily recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
- bethanh571 (10/5): My stay - Another great stay here. Staff extremely friendly, approachable and will go out of their way to help you. Hotel feels clean and well looked after. Rooms spotless.
- Karin (8/5): - Insgesamt sehr gute location für einen Aufenthalt in der Stadt Bath, Nähe zu Sehenswürdigkeiten, shops und Restaurants.
- W9161OGnicolam (2/5): An Uncomfortable Night. - I was so disappointed with this Premier Inn. We usually use Premier Inn and love their wonderful beds. This Hotel was exceptionally shabby and it needs a complete overhaul. The corridor walls were dirty. The skirting board in the bathroom was chipped and the paint flakes were all over the bathroom floor. The floor was sticky and worst of all the mattress was not like anything I have slept on in a Premier Inn. I wonder if it was terribly old. An uncomfortable night.
Staff at reception and at the restaurant were lovely.
- Brian (10/5): - Well located
Quite a busy part of town with students but was very comfortable - great bed - so comfy
- Judy (10/5): - They put me on a handicap room when I am not!
Said I had asked for it thru Expedia!
the young checkin staff r not too friendly
- 949bluep (10/5): Lovely - Welcoming staff, clean room. Good location little bit of construction work but didn’t disturb our stay whatsoever - Receptionist on duty was also very welcoming.
- 626shenab (10/5): Spectacular - First time staying at this premier inn. Easy to get to, clean hotel, clean room, friendly staff. Will definitely recommend to others.
- Danielle (6/5): - We had a nice stay, however one of the two rooms we booked (the accessible bath) smelled of cigarettes and or mould .. and the other room only had one bath towel.
- Oasislimoskent (10/5): Ideal local, lovely room. Cannot fault anything - Cannot fault anything, lovely room, quiet , nice big car park too as I had to park a 30ft stretch limousine in. Food was just right, will definitely stay again when in the area
- vmalmond (10/5): Comfortable stay - Very comfortable stay. Clean and tidy friendly staff on reception. Nice accommodation very happy with the service. Clean bedding and a fresh smell throughout.
- Bloodaxe58 (8/5): Standard PI fare - Standard PI fare. Good room, comfortable bed, nice pillows, quiet room, tea making facilities. Only gripe was bathroom cleanliness. Badly stained toilet.
- candour (2/5): Very poor - Very poor experience - room was very worn (furniture chipped and cracked) and not at all clean. Mould in the shower and the floor desperately needed hoovering. Reception team very friendly and helpful but will not be returning. You used to know what you were getting with Premier Inn but standards have seriously slipped.
- SteveMRochester (6/5): Needs to improve - Stayed here for just one night, but this wasn't the best of the Premier Inns. We have stayed in quite a few around the country and I was hopeful that this would be similar but there wasn't much of a welcome. The member of staff who checked us in didn't really talk, seemed very quiet, didn't even say Hello. Our room on the ground floor I was expecting to be noisy, but thankfully it wasn't. The room wasn't particularly clean, dust everywhere, strange brown stains on the wall near the toilet, hairs in the shower and no shower gel in the dispenser. Bed was very comfortable which was a bonus but I wouldn't recommend to stay here again.
- stevejS1809LC (4/5): Squalid may be too strong a word, but… - Stayed here ten years ago when it first opened and WOW has it changed! Rooms are tatty, shower didn’t work properly, tub was so slippery (no rubber mat provided) I nearly broke my neck every time I tried to get out! They seem to be building an extension next door, not sure if this includes renovating the current rooms. For the price they charge per night you’d expect much better…
- julieeclaire (2/5): Awful. - Worst hotel stay ever. Rooms were dirty. No clean towels or toilet paper (we bought our own in the end). Staff shortage meant no hot food available for dinner on first night and for the following 2 days no food available for breakfast, the hotel was full and they obviously did not have sufficient staff to look after and feed guests.
- Niccyc (6/5): Reggaeland weekend - Not the best premier Inn. Staff nice room not up to the standard of other branches. Breakfast was not very hot bed was good room no phone or working usb sockets
- R510GHjacquelinem (10/5): Caring Staff through a difficult time - 5* staff and service. Due to a sad family event, we needed to stay close to Bedford hospital. The staff could not have been more caring. We can not thank them enough. We have now returned home with a better outcome than was first predicted with the knowledge that if we need to return, we know exactly where to book. A wonderful place to stay. Thank you so much for helping to make a sad few days into somewhere we could come back to try to relax
Pizza and breakfast exceptional. Thank you.
- MARK (8/5): - Great value for money and brilliant location. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice! Staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Room would benefit from a little tlc but was clean. Air-con not the best but shower was great! Overall, a very enjoyable and pleasant stay.
- Sonya (6/5): - There was no one there to check us in but someone did come if you call them. Hallways had a smell that is unpleasant but the rooms are good.
- ritzyk2020 (4/5): Gross, cleaners need retraining. - The room was an absolute mess, clumps of crumbs, bobbles, plastic tags, sequins and gems all over the floor. Make up and hair all over the windowsill. Muck and dirt all over the shower floor, dirt on the mirrors, toilet unclean, water in the kettle and the foulest smell of stale pipes in the room. The room hadn’t been cleaned at all. The only thing was the beds made. Spoke to the front desk and the loveliest girl helped us called Annabelle. She made up and cleaned a new room for us on her own, whilst dealing with a lot of other complaints from guests about unclean rooms. The poor girl was left on her own to sort all of this out and it’s not on. She was being pulled left right and centre and still trying to make everyone’s stay good. This girl needs a raise for the shift she had to deal with, the cleaners need retraining. Absolutely gross. The new room Annabelle made up was fab, we had no problems with that room, faultless. She’s an asset to your company and shouldn’t be dealing with all these issues. Surely the rooms should have been checked by a cleaning supervisor? I booked weeks in advance as well so there is no excuse for last minute booking. The only reason I would ever rebook is because of the service Annabelle gave. Other than that it was disgusting.
- M5089VScolinc (10/5): Great reception - The reception was very helpful and enjoyed the stsy was good very clean room and bed.shower and toilet area very clean .The brewers fayre across the road the food was cooked well and was served hot the beer was very cold just how I like it ........
- Omgitsheragain (2/5): Not the usual standard for a Premier Inn. Avoid. - If you ever stay at Trentham Gardens Premier Inn (we did says before staying here), you'd find it hard to believe it's the same company. As a comparison for value, we paid £98.98 for Trentham and £110 for Bedford South., both inclusive of breakfast.
We booked as a couple, room obviously set up for just one person. One set of towels, one armchair, only two tea bags (stingy). Mould in the shower, and grimey skirting board, soap dispenser hadn't been cleaned for months even if it had been refilled. Threadbare carpet and very low ceilings (6' 4" people are in danger of head injuries). Breakfast was disgusting and over at Brewers Fayre. Woman on reception got us the second set of towels, but didn't check that anything else was needed.
To compare, the Trentham garden Premier Inn was clean, spacious, had new carpet and a purple light in the bathroom - really beautifully decorated - and staff were fab. The breakfast was superb.
Don't understand why the two were so different, but Bedford South needs to shut down for a refurb. I feel for any of the guys using this as a stopover for work purposes.
- Primeribb (2/5): Knackered mouldy bathroom and a restaurant next door run by kids with zero training - Is nobody doing anything about the horrendous black mould in the bathrooms....Im not the first to highlight either.
Not to mention the paint worn, flaking and the smell....
Don't bother dining next door, the place is run by untrained kids.
Get your act together Bedford South
- 356ameliao (4/5): Bad - Was so hot at night could barely sleep with my partner! Air condition didn’t work and WiFi was absolutely terrible. Not worth the cost. Will have to agree that I wasted a good amount of money on a poor hotel and service, definitely wouldn’t recommend
