Guest Reviews
- vestas (10/5): Great experience - I went to London with my son for his 21st Birthday.
Despite this being a central London high turnover hotel the staff were fantastic and very personable. The duty manager was lovely and she made it feel a very personal experience.
- G7538IDricharde (10/5): Great stay - Perfect hotel for events at the Business Design Centre or O2 Academy. Breakfast very good, made all the better by Alina and team.
- Maryob83 (10/5): Excellent location. - Amazing location on leister square. So close to the Christmas markets, we attended a show and just had a 5 minute walk. Close to Covent gardens. Tube station short walk. Surrounded by restaurants and so much to do. 20 minute walk to Oxford Street, or take the tube.
Staff were so friendly and helpful.
- Q2467INmonicac (6/5): Location is the best thing about hotel - Wonderful location. Ready for tubes and buses. No atmosphere in hotel but staff friendly enough. Room was ok but whole hotel looked tired. Tear in dining room carpet could prove a problem.
- Andreas (8/5): - Allt till belåtenhet. Fina, rena rum. Bra service
- SuzTel (10/5): London stay - Fantastic location, Will definitely stay again, so near to Sadlers We
Ls and the Union Chapel if visiting, also Islington business centre. Shops are great and easy acres in to Central London.
- Sightseer51139241622 (10/5): A London's hidden jewel : a good night at Premier Inn Angel Islington ! - Once again, we received a very, very warm welcome from the Premier Inn's crew, many thanks to Gurdy & her friendly colleagues, you are the best ones !!
Excellent room & bed, very good location in a nice neighborhood at 5 min from St Pancras station with the Northern Line.
Free wifi could be better (it switch off systematically when you don't use it for some minutes)
- FREDERIC (8/5): - Personnel tres cordial. Chambre spacieuse très confortable, calme.
Petit déjeuner tres bon meme si le choix est limité.
- STEFANO (10/5): - perfetto e ideale per il centro fiera.
- K7268WAclarab (10/5): Great stay - Only a 15 minute walk from Waterloo station so a good base to explore London. The staff were friendly & helpful and the rooms were clean. The meal deal was good value so enjoyed a 2 course meal in the evening and a cooked breakfast the next day. All in all a lovely stay.
- paknik-riley (10/5): Amazing place and food - What an amazing and wonderful experience here!! The restaurant was ace and the food was SPOT ON!! Both Francesco and Gurdy were extremely warm and friendly throughout!!! Such cheerful staff at 9pm!!! They suggested the meal deal to save me money and Gurdy was so happy the whole time !!! Made my horrible journey disappear and enjoyed a meal alone with your amazing staff
- C1311BLbenc (10/5): GURDY! - First time at this hotel and fancied a night cap, I met Gurdy, she was welcoming and very accommodating! ………………………………..
- I4071PHjasonf (10/5): Excellent helpful staff - Excellent service from Gurdy and francesco they were both so helpful and accommodating. Couldn’t do enough for us ., we would stay again here .
- Rayybies (10/5): Warm and Welcoming - Some of the nicest staff I have experienced, all were happy to help and welcoming. The rooms were lovely and quiet and beds super comfortable. A great location for exploring the Waterloo/Westminster area!
- R4133NEsamv (10/5): A good place to stay - I have been visiting Premier Inn Islington for a couple of years (every couple of months) now and I have been meet warmly, especially by two employees, Gurdy and Francesco. Both of them are exemplary employees and accommodating. I appreciate the warmth and kindness that they have shown me. They are both fine people..
They are the reason I return to this hotel.
- AgentPaws (10/5): Excellent Premier Inn - Great location, around 10 mins walk to the tube (Lambeth Road), but there are frequent busses into the centre of the city from just round the corner. Lovely staff, and everything still feels new. Excellent views.
- 897finnd (10/5): So good - I wanted a hotel after travelling to London for a concert.
This hotel was perfect for my needs.
It ticked every single box. All the staff were friendly and gave me a warm welcome. The room was warm and spacious. The view for the room was amazing.
The bed was so comfortable. I didn't have to get up once during my sleep.
The breakfast was delicious and perfectly cooked.
Every single member of staff were welcoming, with a warm and friendly smile. I felt that they all went out of their way to ensure that my stay was perfect. It was.
A huge thank you to the whole team there.
- Bev_Hull (10/5): Great location, hotel and staff - you can not go wrong if you stay here! - What a great location - we had a Premier Plus Room with the views - OMG they are amazing. Hotel very clean and tidy. All staff went out of their way to help you. You can not go wrong staying here. We used Uber from Kings Cross only about £25. From £15 into Covent Gardens area. Tubes near by too. Had breakfast only one day and it was great - very busy but got seated in prime time very quickly and easily and plenty of food available. Had a bottle of wine in the bar one night, good choice and very reasonable prices too. Will definitely be back next time in London.
- martinsL6556SX (10/5): A very pleasant stay - The hotel is very conveniently placed right in the centre of London near all the major theatres etc and is only a few minutes walk away from Leicester Square Tube station so is easy to access. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Access was by lift from the ground floor up to reception and various level. Access and lifts were controlled by the roomy key so security was good. Overall management was very efficient and friendly . The rooms were quite small with limited hanging facilities for clothes but very clean and well prepared and more than adequate for a short stay. Despite being in a very lively and busy area the rooms were very quiet. The walk in shower was excellent with plenty of hot water. There was. a limited but adequate bar service. We had breakfast there on one day which was very good. Hot and cold food and a wide choice of cereals, yoghurts, unlimited coffee etc. Although they are available we did not have an evening meal. All in all it was a very pleasant stay.
- christinewG4896HM (10/5): 10/10 one night stay - Excellent location near transport links and restaurants, very clean, comfy beds, efficient check-in and friendly service. Next door to the Imperial War Museum.
- laurep549 (10/5): Perfect hotel in every way! - Our stay was simply perfect! Huge room, tastefully decorated and kitted with everything one might require; totally insulated from noise and light; very efficient air con; super comfortable bed; spacious bathroom with great shower; and finally delightful and friendly staff.
- iangI1214HI (10/5): Great hotel for London stay - Perfect location and great little hotel , right in the centre of everything you could need , tube station is literally a 5 min walk away and staff are super helpful
- P9847JYsallyk (10/5): Excellent stay - Excellent, quiet location. Staff are so positive, polite and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. Food is very good and well presented. Room was so quiet and very comfortable. Highly recommend and will definitely use again.
- H805EFdeborahe (10/5): Lovely Premier Inn - great location - Nice hotel in great location - lovely area, nice bars and eateries. Great view of the city and watching the world go by. Happily stay here again.
- AlisonEvans (4/5): A good scrub is needed for this one! - On arrival, we found the entrance and lift to be dirty. Dirt on the floors, lift walls stained and sticky. Receptionist not particularly welcoming. Reception area untidy with all sorts of items leaning against walls etc. We walked through the "restaurant" area to go to the toilet. That was dirty too. The floor was sticky and there were still food crumbs and smears on the central buffet from breakfast. The toilets were revolting. The ladies obviously hadn't been cleaned since heaven only knows when - the toilet bowl was crusted and the floor had splashes and visible dirt. There were also stains/smears on the walls. I went to use the disabled toilet instead and that wasn't much better. My husband said the gents was fairly awful too. The passage way to our room was dirty – bits of paper, wrappers, mud/soil. It looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in quite a while. On first glance, our room seemed clean but the bathroom wasn’t great. The basin’s overflow was black with dirt/mould and around the plug hole was too. Neither the shower nor the basin drained properly and I had to wait to shower after my husband so that we didn’t flood the bathroom. There was only one of each towel despite booking for 2 people. We requested another but that never arrived. The shower rail was dirty with smears and watermarks. There were visible stains on the headboard and curtains too. The hairdryer didn’t work properly and kept switching off during use. Thanks to the obvious lack of hygiene we avoided using the kettle and decided to skip breakfast despite having paid for it. The receptionist wasn’t particularly concerned when we informed her of this at checkout. Overall, a very unpleasant and disappointing experience.
- isai363 (10/5): Lovely morning staff very helpful - Its a very nice atmosphere easily to get to places from there nice breakfast nice staff im happy to visit and stay and i will be coming back
- W9352TDpeterl (8/5): Good hotel. Bad smell - The hotel is a perfectly good Premier Inn. Well connected to underground and bus routes. If you are offered one of the rooms in the fifth floor be aware that there is a powerful smell along the corridor. Which other guests we spoke with said was not a one off. IDK what the problem is but for central London prices the hotel really needs to sort it out.
- L6710HKahmeda (10/5): Premier Inn - Great staff very welcoming enjoyed my work stay
Chef Alina was very nice.
Gurdy & Gizem Night Team
They are the elite members of the team an asset to the company
- 297derekj (10/5): Best of the best. - We were parading as veterans at the cenotaph so premier Inn at Leicester Square was superb. The staff team worked their socks off keeping all the old military vets happy and deserve a medal of their own. The rooms were clean and very quiet even with all the noise from the Christmas market.
- gotw2020 (10/5): So welcoming. - Home from home, 250 miles from Accrington all because of Gurdy + Dan.
Straight talking, friendliest hosts I've ever met.
- C3893ROcarolinew (2/5): Bad Bathroom Smell!! - The location of this hotel is great, its just a shame that our experience of staying here was so bad. We booked a premier plus room (room 406) which was a nice size and looked clean and tidy on arrival however this changed after returning from our night out. There are definitely issues with the drains at this hotel. The smell from the bathroom was appalling. We managed to get rid of the smell after running taps and the shower for a while. I thought it had gone but the following night was just the same so we did the same thing by running taps and the shower. I reported this to reception the next morning and complained when I returned home but Premier Inn think its ok to just say sorry and blamed me for not reporting it sooner. Dont make the mistake I did, ring reception even if its really late at night, even if it disrupts your evening when all you want to do is go to bed, otherwise you have to accept that paying £210 a night for a room and have to cover your mouth with a towel when using the bathroom is ok.
- Topofthepops (6/5): Dirty - Great location but definitely not the best Premier Inn I have stayed in probably the worst for cleanliness.
Staff really helpful and try their best it’s just a dirty hotel that needs some serious renovation.
We had a premium room and it was horrid not appealing at all. Carpet full of stains, paint peeling and the view of a wall from the window.
Would not stay here again.
- MelFletch49 (10/5): Great experience - Really good location for what we needed. I was looking for a cheaper alternative but with the many views/reviews you kind of know what you are getting with Premierinn! I don’t recall having a bad experience using one so opted for this! As always the bed was comfy, the room was clean and warm and the staff were lovely!! Total winner for London!
- P2008DBnatalieb (10/5): We loved this hotel - We stayed over the weekend for 3 nights, all staff we have seen have been super friendly, it was simple and quick to check in, was explained they don’t clean rooms everyday now but if we wanted it we could have or just ask for more towels/tea coffee stuff, our room was 704, not the best view, but we haven’t come to London to look out of our window, very short walk to Lambeth North underground station and for a bit more of a walk you can be at local attractions ie parliament, London eye, London Bridge. We had breakfast and it’s a buffet style, the staff work hard to keep it all topped up and clean, plenty of hot food available, we did also do a meal deal for 1 night, £21 for 2 course a drink and your breakfast the next day is a bargain to be had. To be fair there isn’t much choice on the limited menu however there is something, and if you want your breakfast at 10.99 you’re basically paying a tenner for 2 courses and a drink. It really is a good money saver if you need it to be. Thanks again to all staff! We will stay here again!
- Whitelegge1989 (10/5): Amazing stay in a perfect location - We visited as a family had a amazing stay in a great location hotel was quite staff where all amazing all of them couldn't do enough to make sure the customer was happy excellent people skills especially with the kids keeping them entertained with various things to do
Food was excellent especially the breakfast credit to the chef every part of the cooked breakfast was fresh enough and cooked perfect
The two ladies and the two men running the bar and reception are very good at making the stay a pleasant one
- jabber2252 (2/5): Noisy nightclub..! No sleep..! Rude Management..!! - Stayed Saturday 11th October. Horrendous experience.
Don’t stay here if you want to be able to sleep..!
Thudding from nightclub music connected to hotel reverberated through our room till past 3 AM.
Complained to Nightstaff who said it’s a common occurrence and even had a WhatsApp group set up with the nightclub! Asked if we could move to a higher floor to try and stifle the noise but declined.
Spoke to Duty Manager and Manager next morning, they were rude, dismissive and unhelpful. Just told us to complain online.
So complained online, got a reference number and an initial acknowledgement and then absolutely nothing since!
Totally ruined our wedding anniversary trip.
- 856valeriet (10/5): Belle surprise - The hotel is well located, clean and the staff are very pleasant.
Hearty breakfast included and the option of half-board for dinner is very convenient (especially with children!).
- 1206hayleyb (10/5): Great location - 1 night stay.
Great location.
We walked to London Eye and the theatre from here with no trouble.
Breakfast was good.
Room was clean and comfortable.
Easy check in and iut.
No issues.
Much better than some more expensive hotels. In fact I may start booking here much more often.
- sarahmochan_ (10/5): Family trip - Good, quiet location but still central. Just a short walk to Westminster and close to North Lambeth tube station. Friendly staff and clean rooms. Perfect for a family trip to London.
- mybestfriendsparky (8/5): Nice hotel close to tube links. - Good hotel and quite close to Lambeth North tube so easy access to London.
Rooms decent but shower fell apart in my hands.
Staff were really good and attentive. Mush and his co-worker were excellent.
Food was good value and very decent considering it’s not a proper restaurant.
Would I use it again?? Definitely.
- Camper05492467558 (10/5): Good central location close to many south bank attractions - Two nights in this really central site, family room (810) . The room is perfect for our stay, clean and a great view of the night cityscape, comfy beds, this is based upon visits to other premier inns across the UK this is definitely the most comfy, slept like a log, second night ate evening meal in the restaurant which for the area was very competitive and perfectly acceptable though we would've liked a little more selection but what we had was good fayre, the two young men running the restaurant and reception were very attentive and super pleasant. Breakfast was standard PI fayre, the breakfast room is snug for the number of people using it at times and the staff work incredibly hard to get everyone through in a timely manner, hats off to them! In the room we'd have liked a few more milk pots (think this is a complaint across all hotels not just PI).
- Y4809PZmrg (10/5): Excellent hotel with great staff - I recently stayed at this hotel whilst working in the area. From the minute I entered the hotel, the staff where extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Special mention goes to Aika, Tonima and Mish who looked after me all week. I should also mention the Breakfast staff whose names escape me. The food was excellent and always hot and a great choice. The rooms are quiet and really clean as is the restofthehotel. I stayed in another Premier Inn the month before and this experience was so much better. I am back here next month for work and am already looking forward 2 it. I would definitely recommend staying here.
- F6949CMgrahamm (10/5): Good value accommodation in a very expensive city! - Having never stayed at a Premier Inn before, I was very pleasantly surprised. The Lambeth Rd hotel is fairly new, the rooms were nice, the bed was super comfortable & the staff were lovely. We ate in the restaurant at night for dinner, it was great value and the food was really tasty. The breakfast was also great value particularly because we were a big family group with children. The selection was adequate and everything seemed fresh and tasty. The coffee was okay too. I would definitely stay there again.
- juliesG4378KM (2/5): Less than budget hotel charging premium rates - No heat in the room. The key scanner outside to allow access isn’t working. Shabby, no manager at weekends for serious issues - was trapped in a lift and shouted at by staff for banging on doors to be let out. Nobody offered assistance or comp Guest relations weekday 9-5 only. Honestly horrible experience. Don’t use.
- 290rob (10/5): A pleasant stay. - I've stayed here twice recently, just for one night, and it has been a pleasant experience both times. This time I was allocated an excellent room with a view over the City of London, with the Shard in the distance. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with everything you need.
My reception from Francesco and Eugenia was first class, friendly and professional. My breakfast from Georgiana and Alina was delicious. Highly recommended.
- Scotmum1 (10/5): Ideal for family sightseeing - Excellent location sightseeing and close to local shops and restaurants if you choose to eat out. 2 mins from Angel underground so very easy to get into central places of interest. Ideal room for small families. Good selection at breakfast overall.
- tinacJ7224JS (10/5): Breakfast at the premier was a amazing! - Angel team were amazing this morning. We had a breakfast booking drama and they sorted it out for us and were very friendly and helpful. We will certainly stay here again! Thank you very much for your help today.
- 550mercyh (10/5): Thank you Georgie Marie James! The attention and care you show in your work will make me come back again and again - Generous and kind staff, who went beyond the usual to make us feel welcome. They genuinely cared about our experience, making sure our stay was seamless. This affected the quality of our whole day!
- vsM7389IN (10/5): Great customer service - Another great stay at Premier Inn. Big shout out to Gurdy, Lina and team for going above and beyond! That's why we keep coming back.
- alanatabz (8/5): Great location - few downsides - Stayed here with friends for a weekend, the location is great and in the middle of Leicester Square
The hotel room was fine, although only one lift was working, which was a bit inconvenient
The doorway is quite small, and you can mistake it for a club next door. As it's a non-smoking hotel, smokers stand outside the door, and you run the gauntlet of smoke!
- olwenm2014 (10/5): Excellent staff! - Staff were excellent - Team Angel's Georgie was super helpful and couldn't have been nicer when asked for assistance.
I'd love to know whose idea it was to have beds so high you need a ladder to get in and out!
- E8597NWleew (6/5): 2 Day Trip to London - Leicester Square - Premier Inn - Hotel room clean and tidy although a little cramped compared to previous stays in same hotel, but this time we were on the top floor and these seem to be smaller rooms. Reception services good although stretched with numbers coming and going. Only thing which spoiled visit was poor hot water pressure on 8th floor - top. On both mornings we struggled to have a shower due to poor hot water pressure in our room - would come on and go off frequently even after being run for a long period.
Location is great though and on previous visits, aside from lifts, reception staff and accommodation/food have always been good.
Noticed menu has now been reduced further for main meals, which is disappointing, so our next stay may be in another hotel.
- Drwhogirl1997 (10/5): Labone is a treasure - Had a wonderful time at this hotel for my birthday. The staff were all so lovely and helpful but a special shout out to Labone who made my birthday extra special by giving me a complimentary Prosecco!
- CowellLJ1964 (10/5): Excellent Stay - Just spent 3 nights on business and yes the hotel is a little tired but the location/staff/breakfast and value spot on,great night's sleep with no noise from the very busy Leicester Square.Would definitely stay again Thanks x
- stephenfX6239LV (6/5): Looks can be deceiving - Great location for tube, theatres and central London.
Internal hotel decor was a bit jaded. Premier plus room just didn’t live up to the price expectations, no view. Door had daylight gaps in it, carpet stains. No opening window. 1 working lift.
Breakfast great, evening meal so so.
- Shropshire1234 (6/5): Basic - We stayed here for 2 nights whilst on a theatre trip to London. Its perfectly situated for all of the shops, theatre's and restaurants. A tube station is literally around the corner.
The lifts were broken when we got here so we had to lump our cases up 2 flights of stairs to the reception and then a further 2 flights to get to our floor. No one offered us any help. The room is basic, tea and coffee facilities and a TV. Air con works too. There was a liquid hand soap in the bathroom and an all-in-one wash in the shower that was supposed to be for hair too. The shower did not empty and filled up with water quite quickly so you couldn't hang about in there. (407), it took about 30 minutes for it to drain. I did mention it when we left.
The lifts worked spasmodically, I went in at floor 4 to go down to the ground floor and ended up going to 8 - 6 - 4 - 8 - 2 before it would let me out. (There was no one else using the lifts at that time).
I think the whole place is a bit tired and could do with a spring clean.
We didnt eat there so I cant comment on the restaurant.
- beans679 (4/5): Great location, not so great hotel - We have stayed in several Premier Inns and apart from the location this was one of the worst.
The location is great, just off Leicester Square, near to a tube station and nearby to lots of local attractions, bars and restaurants.
We stayed for a weekend - Check in was straightforward - we were given a room on the eighth floor. Our room was small, barely enough room to walk around the bed and very little storage room.
The bathroom was ok but the shower was adequate at best and kept turning itself on at random.
There are only 2 lifts and these were out of action for most of our stay. Although we were able to negotiate 8 flights of stairs I witnessed others less mobile really struggle.
We didn’t get our room cleaned on the Saturday and no explanation or apologies. I can only guess that as the lifts were out of order housekeeping couldn’t get to the 8th floor.
We didn’t eat here but did have a couple of drinks which were reasonably priced.
Our room was initially hot but there is air con although we couldn’t open a window. Although in a busy location we weren’t affected by noise.
- L1330ILgeorgiar (4/5): Not like our usual stay in Premier Inn - We always stay in Premier Inn, but we were unimpressed this time. We got given a room and when we went in, it hadn’t been cleaned. The rubbish was still in the bin, old bedding and towel and dirty dishes. Had to go back downstairs and wait another 15 minutes in reception to be given another room. The staff were helpful but didn’t apologise with the inconvenience. It’s my husbands 40th and we were not impressed with the premier plus room. There was little bars of chocolate in the fridge, and one of them was open. We had only 3 coffee pods to use, and 1 milk. 1 teabag, and 2 sugar. This was simply not enough. We understand there was more downstairs but only the PG tips and not the Pukka teabags that were in the premier plus room. There were stains on the carpet and stains on the tray on the table.
- Valeria (10/5): - Camera pulita e personale cordiale
- Philip (4/5): - Mess on the bathroom floor was never cleaned up despite daily room service.
No toilet paper in the toilets by the breakfast lounge at 9.00am. Had to ask for some ro be added.
- Cliff (10/5): - Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It’s officially a 3-star hotel, but it’s better than some 4-star ones I’ve stayed in. It just got the basics right. Clean, well lighted (none of that moody, ultra dim rooms) and the inclusive breakfast is handy.
The location is great, near Angel station, well connected by bus and lots of eating options around.
I do wish that it has an in-house laundry, but not many hotels in London has that anyway.
- Leslie (4/5): - No writing desk, no fridge, no safe, no easy chairs in the room. The restaurant could no offer coffee during 3 days. Breakfest very modest and looked like left overs from yesterday.
