• sampM1924KV (10/5): Christmas shopping trip - My mum and I stayed at Premier Inn Reading Central on Sat 29th November. I have stayed here a lot and have always found it to be a really lovely hotel. It is always reasonably priced considering it's prime location near the Oracle. We found a parking spot in the hotel car park and the staff let us stay here from 11am even though we couldn't check in til 3pm which was much appreciated. We were booked to eat out on the riverside in the evening but when we arrived we were really disappointed and left after 5 minutes. We ended up back at the hotel and luckily we were able to get a table so enjoyed happy hour cocktails and a really lovely meal. Special thanks to Dominika and Will who were so helpful and friendly to us. It was my mum's first visit and they ended up chatting to us like old friends. I'm so glad we came back to the hotel in the evening as it was such a lovely atmosphere and the food and drinks were great.

Clean with friendly staff.parking at rear but limited spaces ,we got in early both day of our stay but if full literally across the raod is a multi story.,did meal deal all very nice but cut down menu so limited choice. If you want to eat there loads of venues by the canal or in town.
• AzeemK_13 (10/5): Clean and quiet rooms, plus a decent restaurant on site - This hotel is really close to the Oracle shopping centre and transport links. It took me 10 minutes by foot from Reading station, so location wise, it’s perfect. We stayed in a Premier Plus room which has a mini fridge and a coffee machine, including ironing facilities. The hotel is very quiet and staff are very friendly and attentive. Food is served on site so we didn’t need to go out anywhere, but there are plenty of restaurants within 2-3 minutes walk away if you’d prefer to eat out. Personally, the food at the hotel was nice and good value - so it’s worth giving it a try as it can be cheaper than going elsewhere! The bar also had good deals on cocktails and other drinks.

But I kind of enjoy doing it. - This budget hotel offers what you would expect - reasonable sized, clean room, with decent sized bathroom, good supply of ho water, toiletries, towels, functional heating and good sized, wall mounted tv. Tea making facilities in the room , with, I was happy to see - enough ingredients to make several cups of tea or coffee. Also, you can get extra teabags, milk sachets etc from reception, you don't even need to ask, they're just laid out for you, Helpful. Efficient check in procedure, ample parking. All fine. Breakfast is next door in the neighboring beefeater Inn - I think I paid £8.95 for breakfast. The room was £80 as I remember. Not cheap, but in the UK you will struggle to get much for less these days. The breakfast was fine, pretty good selection of continental and cooked options, adequate tea/coffee machines - not luxurious but reasonable value. I had breakfast at 9am on a Sunday morning, and it was pretty crowded - but not much to be done about that expect wait patiently while the people in front of you in the queue yakk endlessly about nothing in particular, while hovering over the bacon, tongs in hand, without actually serving themselves with any food. One has to wonder why people would choose to stand and chat interminably in the food line, rather than the more considerate option of getting their food, then returning to their table to continue with their meandering monologues. But - as we all know - people are strange, It's an invitation to be patient of course. Or in my case, an invitation to say (much more loudly than I'd intended) "Will you just get a move on!" which appeared to surprise the queue dawdlers in front of me, who seemed genuinely baffled to discover that there was anyone else in the restaurant who might also want to eat that day. "Are you in a hurry mate?" he enquired. I should have replied with a more caustic "Well I was, but now that I have the opportunity to eavesdrop on your scintillating anecdote about your dog's flea treatment - I'm going to cancel all my appointments" But of course, I didn't. I just muttered "Yes, I am". Fortunately they selected their choice of bacon and sausages without further prevarication. I could also have done without the jingly Christmas music at 9 in the morning, but it was the 16th of November, with just under 5 weeks to go - so what can you do? I'm getting old. I'm aware of that. Saying things out loud, which would perhaps be better a) not said at all or b) quietly under one's breath maybe wiser choices. But age, as we know, does not always come with wisdom.
• lynwenh2023 (10/5): Perfect Location, Immaculate Hotel & Outstanding Staff - My partner and I stayed at the Premier Inn in Reading for two nights, and we were genuinely impressed. The location is ideall, right opposite The Oracle shopping centre and only a 10-minute walk to the train station. Getting to London was a breeze, with just a 23-minute train ride to Paddington. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel completely at ease. Everyone was warm and welcoming, and their friendly approach really stood out. In the evenings, Domi and Sarka were absolutely fantastic, they couldn’t do enough for us. Their conversations felt so natural, like we’d known them for years, and it was lovely to see them treating other guests with the same kindness. The hotel itself was spotless, quiet, and very comfortable, everything you’d hope for in a relaxing stay. We’ll definitely be returning and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Reading.
• the4ofusBucks (6/5): Not the best example of the brand - Quick, friendly check-in. The twin room was clean, comfortable and well maintained. The double room was not clean or well maintained and was missing a bedside table. The shower leaked on the floor as the seals were missing and the aircon was noisy and ineffective.

• jungliecraig (10/5): Great stay. - Had a really good visit. Room was spotlessly clean. Staff were great, girls making cocktails were very friendly as were staff at breakfast and breakfast was awesome by the way.
• Laurel (4/5): - I've stayed in Premier Inns before, such as one in London in the Blackfriars area and the one at Heathrow. Both of them were good, clean hotels. But this one in Reading was a major disappointment. The room was dingy, there were stains on the carpet and the bathroom floor was sticky. floors. The towels smelled. The worse was when I turned on the water in the shower and discovered that the water wasn't draining and what's worse, particles of debris (that strangely looked like wood chips) came out of the drain and were floating around in the water that refused to go down the drain. I went down to tell the front desk clerk about it and he said he would come up momentarily to look at it, but he never did. I gave up on that and went without a shower. There was no way I was getting in that bathtub. On the ground floor, the floors in the eating area were stained and the floor around the coffee machine were sticky as well. One final note: beware of the taxi company that has a contract with this hotel. I had an incompetent driver who couldn't figure out where my destination was. I also could not see a meter anywhere on his dashboard, which I believe is a licensing offence.
• stevenmI9858KP (4/5): Disgruntled Weekend Travellers - We have stayed at quite a few Premier Inns around the country, however this has to be the worst. When we checked in, the receptionist acted like she wanted rid of us. We were asked if we would like to eat in the Beefeater that evening and again at breakfast. No mention of the Meal Deal so we ended up paying more. We didn't know the door card was supposed to be inserted into a slot near the door, so we had no electric, we weren't given the Wifi code, all of which would have saved time had we been told about it in the first instance. We won't be staying there again.
• Companion46778322804 (4/5): Would not visit again - Overall the place looked grim and uncared for. The toilets were not clean along with the rooms needing a good vaccum. Maybe look at their cleaners and do more spot checks. We required a single bed to also be included in our room, which was promised would be completed before our return after an evening out. On return to our room the bed was not made up, having said that the receptionist rectified this quickly.

Restaurant next door was busy but good service. Food was good and at a good price. Would definitely stay again here.

They were all incredibly upbeat, kind and helpful, giving a truly warm and welcoming feel. The room was great - quiet, comfortable and dark at night. I ate in the restaurant - food fine and the staff again helpful and positive. Made a brief stop in Reading relaxing and homely - exactly what I wanted.

• jinlingy2024 (2/5): Big Disappointment - I would definitely visit Reading again, but I wouldn’t stay at this hotel next time. The room I was given (102) was too close to the road and quite noisy. Considering the price - £170 per night, it felt overpriced and not worth the money. The receptionists were very polite, but the overall room arrangement was disappointing.
• Q5194TZlaurah (6/5): Breakfast was a big No No - The staff were lovely after a four hour drive it was nice to be welcomed with a smile from the nice guy on reception. The room was ok, a little dusty in but overall comfy. The breakfast however was awful! The coffee tasted horrible so I changed to a pot of tea. Most of the teapots were dirty and when I thought I'd found a clean one .. Well the picture says it all! That was the scum from inside the teapot floating on top The mushrooms were covered in dirt and grit and clearly hadn't been washed. The beans were watered down and the rest of the food, apart from the sausages, tasted stale and cold. The parking was also an issue but I know that's down the roadworks and not the hotels fault.

• gr_7247 (6/5): Not the expected Premier Inn quality - Although the quality of the room was the normal Premier Inn satisfactory quality, other facilities were very poor. In particular, Wi-Fi in the hotel was non-existant despite the fact that I had paid an extra £5 for their 'Ultimate Wi-Fi'. The only way to get a signal was to walk out into the surrounding area and use my phone's data - it was as if the hotel had a bubble surrounding it to prevent Wi-Fi access. Also we had dinner in the adjacent Beefeater restaurant and were not impressed with the Chicken Dinner selected which was dry and tasteless. Unfortunately there appeared to be no other dining facilities in the local area. Our stay was only for one night but it is not somewhere we would want to return to.

• W7596SPpaigem (4/5): Location good, parking good, cleanliness and communication POOR - Had a 3 night stay here, stayed last time for business and was a pleasant stay. This time not so much. When I arrived after a long drive my bathroom was dirty (bath and toilet) I went and asked for this to be cleaned and was told this would be done tomorrow. Tomorrow came and I arrived back around 8pm and the bathroom had not been cleaned. Reception apologised and said they would put it on the note for tomorrow but offered to change me rooms. After a long day I couldn’t be bothered to move all my stuff around so I said I’d wait but really did want it cleaned. Next day came..guess what! Not cleaned again! With only one night left I gave up! Cleaned it myself! Due to stay here again in a couple of weeks but will be changing my mind now and booking somewhere else 😢 annoying! Premier inn- let me know if you want to see the pictures 😂

• MrsLee987 (8/5): Fabulous staff - The hotel appears to be run on skeleton staff, each time I've been here. So service can be occasionally slow. However, the staff are all so incredibly friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, consistent and comfortable. Foods alright, not outstanding nor rubbish. The hotel ticks all the boxes for the budget. The staff are the stars of the show here. Such a credit and an asset.
• Z2072AFbobb (4/5): OK but very expensive - Room ok but very expensive for what it is. There are much better value hotels in the area. Service was good except when initially checking in. No-one available fore about 5 mins after pressing the bell. Premier plus room is advertised as with ultimate wifi but this also was charged as an extra
• JOHN0XTED (2/5): Disaster - We found that the duvet cover and bottom sheet had dried blood stains, but there was no one around to attend to replacing this. We paid extra for more space and a quieter location. The first floor room was immediately above or very close to the access door from the reception area on the ground floor. Each time this door was used to gain access or depart the door slammed very noisily to the extent that the floor actually vibrated. The freezers in the restaurant had broken down; you had changed suppliers and as a result the range of food available was less than normal. Despite being relatively quiet, the food that evening took an eternity to be served. When it arrived , the plate was cold, the food was tepid and not at all pleasant. At breakfast the following morning, there was no buffet, with orders for food being taken. Again a long wait, cold plate, barely warm food, All this being served in a very shabby restaurant where the toilets were unclean with flooding.. An absolute disgrace, with automated check in and check out and no obvious way of gaining staff attention. The bell either didn’t work or was ignored.
• BrianW221 (8/5): Went for Family Wedding in the area - ideal place to stay - Very clean, spacious, well priced rooms, all facilities you need in the room. Table/table restaurant bar on site. Staff here need some lessons in manners and customer service, Breakfast on Friday was pleasant and food hot, cooked to order. Saturday was a cold, tired looking buffet, some items had not been replenished and when a large group arrived more food was needed. Host on Sat 20th Sept, was rude and curt with all guests, unlike the lovely ladies serving on Friday 19th Sept. Bar staff were very rude and almost verging on argumentative - bar closes at 10pm. Plenty of local amenities close by, walking distance Self check in could be challenging for older, less IT familiar guests.

I was very impressed with the facilities in the room, the cleanliness in the room was excellent and I couldn’t make a single complaint. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food in the adjacent beefeater was first class in the evening and the lovely breakfast in the morning set us up for the day. I rarely write reviews especially if the experience was mediocre, but this stay inspired me to write because it couldn’t be faulted. Highly recommend
• Venture32921963507 (10/5): Great nice stay - The room was clean, ready, quiet and perfect after a long day at the renaissance fair locally. No staff in sight but the check in was easy on the touch screens and plenty of notices around on how to contact a human if needed.
• Q2873OFcarolineb (8/5): A pleasant stay - All in all I was very happy with the hotel. Great location, with a Beefeater (albeit slightly pricy) on site for convenience. Friendly staff, efficient parking registration and check in/out, bed was comfy and my room was spotlessly clean. Downsides were patchy wifi and a strong unpleasant smell in the downstairs corridor, but I’m sure they’re working to address it.
• 618geoffl (8/5): HORIZON PARKING CHARGE £57 to £95 for 2 days. - I have stayed at Premier Inn Ramsgate on many occasions, and have no complaints about the hotel or the breakfast (which is SUPERB). However, the car park has recently been taken over by HORIZON PARKING. 16 days after my stay, HORIZON sent me a £57 parking charge (£95 if not paid within 14 days). My booking clearly stated FREE PARKING, and I gave my car registration number when booking AND on arrival. Yet still I have been charged £57 to £95 for a 2 night stay.

• Sightseer23954420259 (6/5): Phone Signal and WIFI is a major issue - The phone signal in the hotel and the beefeater is horrendous I have been told they block the signal to get you to pay the £5 per day for the WiFi which seems correct as when you go in the car park you get 5G and nearly full phone signal which is not great being on a main road with nowhere really else to go for a walk around.Plenty of free parking and nice having a beefeater in the same car park to get a warm meal. The beds are always great and staff always good. I have stayed here a fair few times on each floor and the ground floor rooms seem to be the last for renovation. Had a power cut last night from 8pm to 3am which wasn’t ideal but it is the 1st time this has happened.

Told by reception this is now what Premier Inn provides ! Bedroom chair seat (fabric) was stained, washbasin liquid soap dispenser fixing was rusted with brown deposit round the neck of the bottle, ground-floor corridor carpet was very dirty, and lift floor litter was not removed during our 3 night stay.. Staff pleasant and bed comfortable, but otherwise could definitely do better.
• shobanas795 (6/5): Good stay but not so welcoming at the restaurant - Room stay and overall hotel stay was lovely. However the restaurant staff were not friendly with us. They were not welcoming and were very grumpy to help out. It was mainly one lady who allocates the seating - she was cross faced and it wasn’t a pleasant morning for us. We noticed that she wasn’t doing this to other customers and it was just to mainly our family. This happened to all the days we were down for breakfast. Because of this, we were not able to enjoy the wonderful taste of the breakfast. Even though we were so happy with the stay and experience of the hotel, the restaurant for breakfast really let us down.

• Shazzer1a (10/5): Nice quiet hotel in a good location. - Good location on the outskirts of Redditch. Lovely countryside in walking distance from hotel, a country park and ruins of Bordsley Abbey. On the night we stayed it was really quiet in the room at night, probably quietest one we have stayed in, and it was busy too. Receptionist Vicky needs a shout out, she was really friendly and engaging,
• Archieboi (8/5): Mixed thoughts - Booked last minute to say for one night 10th till 11th..... over all the hotel was ok .... Reception lady was helpful but forgot to advise us about the car reg input machine .... even tho we had placed reg no in key drop machine ,she advised us later that ,that has no bearing on the other machine ,but she did till us if we got a letter that they could sort it ....... Room was large and did what it says on the packet.... only gripe there was the dirt on the edge of shower screen and brown limescale on bottom of inside toilet showed that the bathroom did need thorough clean to get rid of issues ..... The pub where ur food is served is a issue I will post on their own page but hence to say I wouldn't order a meal deal at this branch again. .
• Cranes19 (10/5): Great stay, would go back - Fantastic stay. Great location, free parking was a pleasant surprise. Staff were polite. Family room very large. We stayed in Room 2 for 2 nights, would maybe ask for 1st floor next time as room above was noisy and we were by the main entrance door with people coming in at 1am and woke us up. Would definitely go back, room was clean and comfortable. Beefeater next door - we didn’t try this but will do next time
• Cruiser28402538934 (10/5): Fantastic, highly recommend. - Fantastic stay, extra large room as a family. The hotel and area was so quiet. Staff were all great, Beefeater food was exceptional and the staff were lovely. Great value for money, air conditioning a bonus.
• bethfC3568RD (4/5): Over priced and under staffed - Couldn't find any staff, no one was on reception to greet us and explain about the room and where to go for breakfast, we had to self serve to check ourselves in and create a room key. The outside of the inn looks run down. Our room was dusty (i had to take antihistamine to stop sneezing) and not very clean, in particular the bathroom where the plug holes were grimey and had hair in them, the seal on the bottom of the shower door was also grim, the bed linen had stains on it. The restaurant was very understaffed meaning tables weren't cleared and breakfast items not replenished very quickly when they ran out, the few staff that were in the restaurant were friendly and polite despite being run off their feet and dealing with complaints about the service.
• Rebecca180609 (2/5): Terrible experience - If you want to stay at this hotel arrive before 7pm as lorries Park here across several parking spaces and you have no where to park. Staff know this is happening and are not interested in sorting this issue out. Trucks stayed overnight! Rooms are hot despite air con as this didn't work properly a fan was available but made little difference. Please note the windows can not open! This was not a hot night weather wise just a room temperature issue! Staff are unfriendly apart from one lady who works in the restaurant at breakfast. Room was noisy due to laundry still operating at 10pm at night and Staff doors being slammed causing our door to also bang. I would not stay here again and can not recommend. Consider other options before staying here
• GoPlaces03488380779 (4/5): Going downhill - I used to visit premier inns due to the consistency and cleanliness. On this occasion, the room smelled of mould which seemed to be coming from the air conditioning, both sets of bed linen were stained, and the shower curtain had hair on it. Disappointing … not what it used to be.
• micks369 (10/5): Last treat after Holidays - Stopped at this Premier Inn on our way back from Cornwall to North Yorkshire for first time we have stopped at a few Premier Inns over the years and this one is among the best they just get better it’s just nice after a long journey relax and wind down with a evening meal a wonderful bed great breakfast at the Beefeater next door 10 out of 10
• jackyb830 (6/5): Stupid telly with a mind of its own - The TV in the room has a mind of its own and came on at midnight all by itself. My room lit up like the Blackpool illuminations before a voice said "Welcome to the Premier Inn....". I hadn't used the TV at all and the remote was on the dressing table, nowhere near the bed, so I hadn't rolled over onto the remote and turned the telly on by mistake, so why did it do this? More to the point - how do I ensure it doesn't do it again next time I stay there? It woke me up, and I had to mess about trying to turn the thing off, so I didn't get a brilliant night's sleep at all.
• taylormnt (10/5): School boy error on not booking a family room - We arrived at hotel on Sunday 20th July approx 8.15pm and when we checked I realised I did not book a family room, school boy error, however the gentleman on duty was amazing and he informs us to sit in restaurant while he will sort out my error and made our room to family room, amazing and friendly service
• LIM CHI STELLA (8/5): Meet your basic accommodation need - A bit aged hotel but meet all my basic need. Room is clean and spacious but no slippers provided.
• jeannettehV820UF (2/5): Toe nail clippings - Toe nails on the floor! And the bathroom smelt of urine . They hoovered the room but did not have another room available. We were going to a funeral. Otherwise, we would have left. Staff were very embarrassed and kept apologising. The bed was really comfy, though. The breakfast before we left for the funeral was the best ever, and mimi Is a credit to the company . Very good at making sure allergies were adhered to. We where very impressed
• heatherdlc (10/5): Perfectly fine - Despite waiting a whole to check in, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was fine with everything we needed, comfy bed and pillows and it was great to have the aircon
• Z3912AMjamesg (6/5): Lovely sleep, very poor bathing facilities - Could not fault bedroom, best sleep I've had for some time. Showering facilities very poor, unable to shower as water leaked from waste pipe work under shower, flooding into bedroom, and towels used to mop up mess. No maintenance on site, and offered no alternative offered to shower
