Guest Reviews
- TheCityBreakers (8/5): Convenient and good value - I’ve stayed in a lot of Premier Inns over the years and have had positive negative experiences and this was one of the better ones. The decor was a bit dated but the room was spacious and clean, there was plenty of parking and the location is conveniently just off the ring road but we weren’t disturbed by any traffic noise. There are a couple of restaurants close by and shops, restaurants and a cinema complex about 10 minutes drive away. The centre of York is about 20 minutes drive. The hotel was generally quiet although there were lots of cars in the car park so it must have been quite full.
The reception staff were lovely.
We were disappointed that the pub/restaurant adjoining the hotel closes at 9pm on a Sunday so we missed being able to have a late night drink. Instead we drove to the Asda petrol station 5 minutes away and bought a bottle of wine to drink in the room (at a fraction of the price of course).
- kayleighd984 (8/5): Stay for York Christmas Market Trip - Good location, close to York city centre park and ride.
Large car park with free parking.
Clean and comfortable rooms.
Friendly staff, both reception and housekeeping.
Next door Beefeater for breakfast and evening meals could be better.
Breakfast was very good, food items regularly restocked.
Evening meal was below average.
Turkey roast dinner poorly cooked, roast potatoes burnt and the rest of the vegetables were undercooked.
Waiting staff did not make us aware that our soft drinks were unlimited refills.
Fairly expensive for the portion sizes and quality.
- susanaJ3836TQ (10/5): Great food! - Lovely staff , very polite, very attentive our experience of the hotel and the food was amazing, well priced. Would highly recommend.
- aislinb2023 (10/5): Top food! - Visited to the Premier in York North West for a family birthday meal and had a great time. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made the whole visit feel special. Would definitely recommend!
- Iansbedsuk (8/5): Relaxing stay! - Very nice hotel, nice and clean, comfy beds but looks a bit tired in some places i.e our bath panel needed replacing, nothing major just needs a small bit of attention in places.
Only 20min drive away from York, park and ride only 10 min drive away.
Staff are friendly and helpful, the restaurant is attached to the hotel, def recommend eating there, food and staff were on point and can't do enough for you, all in all we had a very relaxing stay!
Def recommend a stay at this hotel

- 5elinm (4/5): Room far too warm. - Location was ok for us, plenty of parking and some restaurants within walking distance. However the room was swelteringly warm (in October, despite no heating being on). Two fans were in the room already so I clearly wasn't the first to have this issue. The bed was also not nearly as comfortable as the usual Premier Inn beds - told they are standard so presumably it was older (My friend had a much nicer refurbished room with a lovely firm bed so perhaps I was unlucky). Staff were nice, breakfast was fine but no yoghurt which is usually standard. After emailing the manager I have been offered a partial refund which is appreciated.
- R5146UVstephene (10/5): Good place to stay. - Second staying at this hotel. A large carpark. Very convenient for access to the ringroad and the location of my appointment the following morning. The room was clean and tidy, with walk-in shower that my wife needs. Food and drink at the adjacent Beefeater pub is absolutely great. The sumptuous full English breakfast is marvelous. Very good value alkl round
- jeremyrT5448AR (10/5): Nice stay, comfortable, GREAT SERVICE from all staff, polite and courteous at all times of the day - My letter to the Hotel
Re: OUR STAY WEEKEND 25TH – 29TH SEPTEMBER.
I promised to send a letter to you about our stay and told the women on reception I would therefore I would appreciate you feeding back to them what I have said.
I also spoke to the “maintenance/cleaning staff, so this applies to them also.
The service we received was exemplary, courteous, and most professional, regardless of 6am or 10pm.
The room was spotless, the beds and pillows too hard for me, but that is nothing. Would I recommend the place, 100% and will be doing so on trip advisor.
- mcgil8924 (4/5): Disappointing room - Booked night before stay to break a journey. It's in a good location to get into york . The staff at reception and the restaurant are excellent and can't be faulted. We opted for the dinner and breakfast deal and the meals were great. Plenty of breakfast choice and well laid out. The room allocated to us was Unfortunately in much need of updating and repairs. The TV had wires hanging loose down the wall and was a challenge to change channel or volume, clearly had issues . We couldn't adjust the room temperature as when we used the room thermostat (as instructed) there was a strong burning smell so of course switched it back immediately. We assumed just dust in the radiator, but didn't want to be responsible for the smoke alarms going off. The bathroom was dated and the shower looked grubby. I guess this hotel reviews will depend on what room you end up with . As mentioned the staff ,restaurant and were great , pity the room wasn't.
- albertina wilhelmina (8/5): - Prima , met auto naar Radcliffe p en r. Vandaaruit met bus naar centrum
- ybsae (4/5): Somewhat disappointed. - We checked in late (10.30ish), tired and slightly tipsy, so we decided to retire after unpacking. It wasn't until we had undressed for bed that we noticed there were no duvets, just a top sheet. As the room temperature seemed OK we decided not to get dressed again to get it sorted. There were times during the night when we were uncomfortable because of the cold, which led to a 'broken' sleep. The following morning we discovered the duvets stuffed under one of the beds without covers, (hardly hygienic). I wonder if this happened when staff moved the beds 30cm apart for which we were charged £5 (twin fee). I found I couldn't fully close and lock the ground floor window and could only lock it 'almost' closed. Breakfast food good, but being the last Sunday before schools went back, atmosphere hardly relaxing, being asked to sit next to a table of about a dozen loud family members, with young kids running around all over the place and one bouncing on the bench next to our seats. The queues were very long, not helped by the eternity it took for each cup of coffee the only machine in the place took to fill a cup. I chose this hotel because of its proximity to a function we attended, but I felt somewhat disappointed with my stay, as we paid what I thought was over the top for what we got.
- 123RiverBay (10/5): Trip to York - Excellent, staff were fantastic, helpful and polite. Room was clean and spacious, bed was comfortable. The hotel was in the perfect position between two excellent park and rides. We opt to use the breakfast and dinner deal, one of our party is a coeliac, best decision we made, they had an extensive knowledge of allergens, they were absolutely fantastic. Thank for a fab trip
- MsParmar (10/5): Does as it says on the tin! - Lovely stay as always at any Premier Inn. From check in to check out, sweet slumber and pristine bathroom. What more do you need?
- Diana_Elliott (8/5): Good but the place needs maintenance - It’s the first time at this particular place though we are regulars of Premier Inns.
The staff were very helpful & friendly.
The room seemed ok initially but we found tiny pinholes in the curtains & very frayed edges. The shower head would not move & the heating control on the tap had been put on upside down.
The place had a general feeling of being run down, but I think we’d stay there again.
- G2804SRmarcush (10/5): Good experience with excellent and welcoming staff! - Really good value for money coupled with welcoming and efficient staff made our short 4 night visits all the more enjoyable. I was impressed with the Premier Inn staff knowledge and their can-do attitude to be 'of service' and to provide help where needed and the Beefeater staff were great, nothing too much trouble, cleared and cleaned tables without having to be prompted and order taken correctly. All good all round!

- Neilfoodcritic (6/5): Lovely staff - but hotel was like a sauna - Stayed for one night in a family and twin room. Staff were really nice and helpful. The hotel was clean and the beds comfortable - but it was ruined by the sweltering temperature of the rooms. No aircon and the fans didn’t help much either. Avoid if it’s summer.
- K8539SRcamillal (2/5): Unbearably hot room - The room was unbearably hot around 28-30 degrees slightly less at night; and also very humid. The room provided was right above the restaurant; there was no air conditioning in the room; only in the restaurant and the window could only open a tiny bit. There was one fan in the room; I was provided a second one after pleading the manager. The hallway immediately outside the room smelled of hash which made me feel sick and the children too. When I asked for another room the same evening we arrived; we were told that this would be possible but we should speak with the manager the following morning at 7am which we did. He said that the hotel is full; and that was pretty much it. It was so bad that we didn’t return until the following evening at 10pm as I couldn’t bear the thought of staying another night in that room. Really, this room should not be given to guests as it is not possible to stay or sleep comfortably in it. Wouldn’t stay there again. When asked if I complain I was told to ring a number the following Monday lol
- P1274DVjessh (2/5): Let’s go back 20 years - No value for money. If you want to go back 20 years ago then this would be perfect for you.Dont expect a good shower, the water pressure is shocking.Overall experience not great.
