Guest Reviews
- P6662QFmelanier (10/5): Ideally located - Good hotel. Personally I think this hotel is ideally located to get the best value to location deal. I say this because, there is a 25 min (easy flat) walk to Portobello beach, which is beautiful. There are also buses. But the walk is nice because you pass a little town center on the way! Then there are around 5 buses that come regularly and run late to take you into the city. Bus is £2.20 so cheap as chips. I'll most likely stay here again to get the best of both worlds. The staff seem wonderful and the hotel is quiet.
- 218tjk (8/5): Eastborne - Kay was great but breakfast on our first morning wasnt good. The cook burnt the full english and my poached eggs were hard. Dreading breakfast the following day it was completly different not burnt at all. Possibly down to a different cook. Only had 1 bath towel but reception rectified this.
- 542marjoriew (10/5): Cheerful, helpful & efficient - The room and public areas were clean and well cared for. The staff I encountered were cheerful, helpful and efficient. The room had a bath - what bliss arriving late evening, oodles of hot water and a warm room. The hotel is the best value by far of those Edinburgh airport hotels I have stayed in. The downside was finding how to get there, but I found Edinburgh Black Cabs to be an excellent & efficient service
- aurielbruce1 (4/5): Far too noisy to get a night's sleep. - Sadly probably the most disappointing Premier Inn stay ever. We recognised that being so close to the flight path might prove difficult and it was. But the last departure was around 11pm. Unfortunately we then had to listen to banging and crashing from the room above us. There is virtually no sound proofing so rather than arriving for our morning flight refreshed, we were both shattered.
The hotel itself really is very tired and ready to be upgraded
- 570stevenb (6/5): OK but could have been better! - We visited on Tue, Wed checkout Thursday. We received a nice warm welcome and got to our very warm and convenient room. This is Edinburgh on a wet freezing cold day so we were ready to kick off our shoes and dry off before heading downstairs for dinner. Bear in mind Scotland were playing Denmark for a place in the World Cup 2026. We enjoyed our starters but then heard a huge roar from the kitchens! Scotland had just scored minutes into kick-off and I couldn't help feeling that the tv took priority over our mains. Our fillet steaks (medium) arrived pink in the middle but cool and dry. The flat mushroom wasn't a flat mushroom. It was a general kind about an inch and a half diameter and the grilled tomato was half of a salad tomato. Peas were dry. We really couldn't be bothered making a fuss. We were so tired, I could have fallen asleep at the table. I wouldn't have done as there was too much cheering from the kitchen. I'm all for celebrating a momentous occasion but in this instance, quality suffered. There was a fire alarm next morning which was handled efficiently.
- LTittyT (10/5): The best Premier Inn - I have stayed in the hotel on numerous occasions whilst I have had building works done.
The hotel is always clean and the rooms are very comfortable. The restaurant serves an evening meal and all you can eat breakfast.
The biggest thanks need to go to Dawn, Georgina and Josh. They always make me feel welcome, especially when I’m sat on my own in the restaurant. Thank you guys.
- oliviasO8411QU (10/5): Brill! - Lovely hotel and staff. Nice room, cosy beds. Situated about a 15-20minute bus journey away from Edinburgh city centre, with the bus stop about a 3 minute walk away from the hotel and buses very frequent day and night. We paid £2.20 each for a single adult ticket. I believe day passes were £5.50. On our last day we went to Portobello beach, which was an 8 minute drive and was absolutely lovely. Would recommend this hotel!
- Leezzer1 (6/5): Price to high for what you get. - Very underwhelming, rooms weren't ready, heating doesn't work well or easily, lift was broken on arrival, repaired later on that day. No complimentary offered for my room not being ready and having to downgrade.
- jmbager (4/5): Not a place I want to return to - This is an airport hotel with its own restaurant, so by default it should be suitable for business travellers. However, be warned; The restaurant requires pre-booking and operates a ridiculous system allowing only 3 slots every 15 min. Apparently due to only one single cook in the kitchen. Result: Arriving by air in the evening and looking for something to eat, but unfortunately the next available slot in the restaurant was 2 hours later, even though very few tables were in use! Not the kind of service you expect as a business traveller, or as any other kind of traveller for that matter.
How was the quality of the food you may ask? There’s room for improvement.
The hotel appeared understaffed, however, the available staff were friendly.
The restaurant and the room were quite cold, and the heating system in the room appeared not to have any effect other than making noise. The inventory in the room appeared tired and with a wobbly table.
There’s no shuttle bus from/to the airport, so you have to take a taxi. I waited 20 min. at the hotel for a taxi to the airport at 4:30 in the morning.
- Spiddy (4/5): Not the best - Previous to staying here, I had thought of Premier Inns as giving a basic level of comfort and cleanliness, but this one was a disappointment. On the plus side: the bed was comfortable and clean, and there was hot water for the shower. Parking was fairly cheap (especially for Edinburgh) and the location felt safe.
On the down side: room was damp with mouldy patches on wall and around the window. Battered furniture. Walls very thin and noise from neighbours heard throughout the night and morning. Carpet felt unclean and grubby. Public areas of the building were shabby and unwelcoming.
We didn't try the breakfast - sounds like a good choice from reading other reviews.
- Resort22338460675 (2/5): Please stay elsewhere - Honestly the worst experience I’ve had at a premier inn. You don’t expect glitz and glamour staying at a premier inn, but you do expect at least some standard of hospitality and cleanliness. All staff we had any interaction with (bar one lovely lady on reception the night of Halloween) were incredibly rude, disinterested and unwelcoming. Our bedroom was evidently not properly cleaned before our stay with shards of glass being left on the floor (not made by us), the bathroom was filthy, no toilet paper, ceiling and shower cubicle absolutely caked in mould with the ceiling falling into despair. I’m not usually one to complain, but for the price of this premier inn, I really didn’t expect to feel dirtier after taking my shower than before I entered. The corridors also had a very weird, very gone-off-food smell to them, really unsettling. Most inviting, disappointing stay I’ve had.
- 5devr (10/5): Great place and definitely recommend it. - Great place to stay away from the city centre.Food is too dear and portions are quite small .
There is a car parking fee in case you decide to stay here.
- davedollybox (10/5): Premier inn Eastbourne - Very good experience central in town very good atmosphere and friendly staff food good will use again very clean hotel good value.
- davekW2718JL (10/5): Amazing staff! - We arrived after a really bad time returning from holiday. We were tired, misserable and just had enough. We were checked in almost midnight by a gentleman that was so friendly and helpful.. he kept the bar open so we could unwind and his collegue then followed suit and couldn't be nicer and more helpful. They were great with the kids, gave them treats, entertainment and even made them hot chocolate at half 1 in the morning! Such a nice change from the rubbish few days we'd had..
- x2015x (10/5): Location - This hotel is ideal for buses in to the city centre that are on a regular basis, the bus information is located at reception. For the airport you need a taxi or walk 10-15 min to a different bus stop to the airport. The staff are friendly and clean rooms.
- chrismitchell1981 (4/5): Passable Premier Inn / Bogging Beefeater... - Hotel is pretty tired and dated, and could do with some care and attention, and tidiness/cleanliness could do with improving. For a budget/cheap option, does what it needs to for a place to rest your head. Bed was comfy, but some bedding was stained/not clean. Would consider other options next time. The Premier Inn staff seemed friendly and attentive (despite clear lack of communication between themselves and the Beefeater attached).
The Beefeater is another story. Despite having booked a breakfast sitting the night before, and not paid in advance (as we were told to do the previous evening), turned up in the morning to find no booking, to be told that we couldn't book breakfast so late, and we couldn't pay in the morning. It transpires you can book and pay in the morning (at least when they dont communicate the booking), its just that they'd rather not have the hassle... Once we got over that hurdle, the experience continued...
I will offer the two staff some leeway in that they seemed to be manning the breakfast service themselves, but the customer service was largely non-existent. Staff were generally abrupt, dismissive and rude, like we were forcing them to offer a breakfast service. A number of (already limited) breakfast items were not available, and my own order was wrong. Food was poorly cooked and pretty cold. The actual 'restaurant' is absolutely grotty, with broken booths, grimey carpets, and didnt look like it'd been given any love for a number of years. This restaurant is definitely a stain on the usually-reliable (albeit no frills) offering from a Premier Inn collaboration, which has dragged the hotel review down.
- stephenwB4855LQ (8/5): Value for money - Comfortable room, good location, good breakfast, the shower over the bath was difficult to use so my wife had a bath, very deep bath causing a problem for my wife when getting out, needs hand rail fitting on wall.
- 374zahrak (2/5): Worse experience in my life - We were already familiar with the location, so no issues there. However, this stay has unfortunately made me reconsider using Premier Inn for future bookings. My experience was far below the standard I've come to expect.
The staff, particularly in the restaurant, were unfriendly and, at times, rude. Our room was also not up to standard. We found spider webs near the window under the curtain, and the carpet was visibly dirty. The bathroom bin had no liner. Additionally, the toilet tissue was only about 20% full when we arrived, which is just not acceptable. To add to the discomfort, the bin collection happened around 7 AM, with the bins placed directly behind our room. This made for a very noisy early morning.
The breakfast experience was the worst part of our stay. We had booked for two nights, and our package included an 'unlimited cooked breakfast,' which was supposed to be a buffet-style service from 7 to 11 AM. However, there was no buffet in sight. Instead, we were forced to choose a time to have breakfast, which was incredibly inconvenient. On the first day, we had to order our food and wait a long time for it to be served. Some items weren’t available, and the food we did receive was cold. When we ordered a second portion, the staff's attitude was unprofessional, with rude and dismissive behavior.
To make matters worse, on the second day, we were informed our entrance to the restaurant that there was no cooked breakfast available at all. This was particularly frustrating as we were traveling with four children, and finding an alternative was a huge inconvenience. The hotel did offer a full refund for the breakfast, but despite this promise, after 2 days, we have yet to receive any communication or refund confirmation.
Overall, I highly recommend avoiding this location, especially if you are traveling with family. It was a disappointing experience that has made me rethink my choice of hotel chains.
- sarloubra (4/5): Worst night's sleet at a Premier Inn - Unfortunately this is a review I never thought I would see myself writing for a stay at a Premier Inn. Edinburgh Airport Premier Inn is a good hotel, very conveniently located for us and is very clean, but this time I was not impressed with the location of our bedroom one bit. We had been travelling all day and only had a few hours to sleep before we had to be on our way again to travel back to Inner Hebridean island we live on. I was given a twin room (room 145, 15th October for 1 night) which was situated directly above the ventilation system for the hotel and all night, all I could hear was the constant drone of the ventilation system. Even my daughter (who could sleep through anything) commented on it. The ventilation shaft looked like it literally came straight out of the building directly under the bedroom. So much for the sleep promise...we never got a wink of sleep. Premier Inn's are my 'go-to' hotel each and every time I leave the island, but this was the worst night I have ever had in a Premier Inn. I wouldn't be surprised if more guests had complained about that room.
- Z1186GBlisaa (10/5): Fantastic Stay - Fantastic stay late night check in made easier due to the fantastic customer service from the 2 night team members! Both went over and above.
- nicolec5830 (8/5): Great (with a few tweaks). - Though the hotel was safe, predictable and comfortable, one should make sure to reserve to eat at the restaurant to avoid disappointment or a very late seating. Also, North Americans who are accustomed to a top sheet between them and the comforter/duvet, should know that there is none provided on the bed. Otherwise, comfortable and close to the airport.
- carolinemT2482RW (10/5): Recommend - Brilliant location. We expected noise with being a town location but it was really quite.. didn't hear any noise at all.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The place was spotless all the areas of the hotel and the room.
I only wished I could open the window a little to get some fresh air in as we found the room a little hot and stuffy.
- scottie0 (4/5): Poor Service - Was staying there before going on holiday early next day. The hotel was quite busy. Once we arrived, I asked to book a table for dinner. However there was nothing available until 8:30pm. They told us they were expecting a large group and there wasnt enough staff on. Very disappointing as they must have seen there was a lot of people staying over. So we ended up over at McDonalds as we just couldnt wait until 9pm to be served our food. The bar was busy too with the barman (Scott) being the most scary guy ever. He definitely didn't seem happy and was rushed off his feet. This meant that the bar area was quite dirty with lots of glasses lying around. The price of drinks too was horrendous and extremely poor range of drinks too.
The room as usual was fine - the usual Premier Inn with still the most comfy beds. But, unfortunately we had to pay for parking for the night which seems unfair when you have paid to sleep there.
Last time we flew in May we stayed at the Travelodge at Ratho Station. Plenty of food and good choice of drinks and not too bad priced. Will be going back there the next time. They also do not charge for parking !
- Jill (10/5): - The staff here were excellent. Very helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and positive. Well organised. The room and building were clean and the beds were warm and comfortable. The location was much further than expected from the airport and taxi was costly.
- Clark (10/5): - It was a nice place at a good value.
- FamilyOfFourz (4/5): No frills hotel - Convenient location to the airport.
Rooms are tired, smelt of damp and can see visible damp in corner or room.
Room no.1 right next to service bins so very noisy with staff using them.
Room for the night, for early start but poor standards for the price paid.
- Kerry (6/5): - I would like to recognize, the sweet, short haired, blonde woman at the front desk who served me my meal. The hostess in a red blazer was beyond rude Wednesday evening. She wouldn’t allow us to sit in the lobby restaurant when we came down to eat. We had to make a reservation she says. She booked us for 45 minutes later, 830pm. It was the end our honeymoon! We were having a great time until she made an assumption and was so rude. She completely ignored me as if somehow, I was something that I was not, I was young and dumb. She explained to me that her brother was the kitchen cook that evening, and she was so happy that He was Tending to Her in every way, when both should be meeting our needs as customers. I said oh said “I totally understand.” She replied “You will understand, when you are older and have children of your own” I replied,
“oh I’m 39 & I have a 5yr old.” She replies I am 39 & seemed to be surprised we were the same age. I then explained to her, the reason I say I hear you, is because I have two siblings are 14 yrs younger. When I told her I was a hair stylist and business owner of 20 years, she made more inappropriate comments referring to her gay best friend, which had nothing to do with our evening. My husband was so upset, he got up & left & later came back to get me out of the conversation. She was awful! I’ve never been more mistreated by someone I don’t even know. I hope this issue will be addressed so others will not have a similar experience.
- Gina (10/5): - Great staff, very helpful for directions for transportation to and from Edinburgh city.
- linde (6/5): - The Premiere Inn Newbridge is located conveniently close to the airport, still a 20£ taxi fare. The room we received was large, designed for someone with a disability, even down to fall arrests and an alarm. Plenty of space, but lacks a fridge or microwave which would be nice as there are limited options for dining. The biggest recommendation for the hotel would be to have a person at night reception. We had an incident whereby we were leaving very early in the morning ( 6:00 am) and the occupants above our room were running and banging until 1:30 am keeping us awake. The noise was loud enough to shake the bed and to hear out in the hall. I went to see if someone at reception could ask them to keep the noise down, but could find no one. The lack of sleep made the next day’s travel harder.
- J1659AWterrym (10/5): Happily surprised at the experience. - I didn't have high expectations, but I was very impressed with the way the hotel worked and especially how human and normal the staff were. I love meeting real people. The room was perfectly adequate for my needs and the bed was very very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent of outstanding note the black pudding, apparently it's McSweens, the sausages, and the coffee. The hash browns were also very noteworthy. Yes I enjoyed it. I know its an English company but if you are going to provide such a good breakfast in Scotland put haggis on the menu please.
- Elisabet (10/5): - everything was alright, we don’t have any complaint
- Ann (6/5): - I did not have a car, though my room looked out over the parking lot. Breakfast not included. Few amenities. No shampoo, no tissues, no water bottle in room, though bed comfortable.
- nicolalJ4166CS (6/5): For for purpose but nothing fancy - The staff are really nice and the transport links into Edinburgh centre are fab, worth staying a wee bit out of the city to make the stay cheaper. The hotel itself is a bit tired and dated and really could be doing with an upgrade. We mostly had everything we needed for an overnight stay, except for cups and coffee/tea though we did have a kettle and spoons? The beds are really comfy and we slept great, quiet too. We didn’t use the restaurant so can’t comment on that. Overall it’s okay for a night to use as a base if you’re mostly out and about and I would stay here again for that purpose, but if I was staying longer I’d probably find a nicer hotel.
- davidkA729KA (6/5): Unexpected extra parking costs. - Premier inn was good, let down by an unexpected extra cost for parking of £7.
When booking online my understanding was thst there was free parking, only to find signage showing parking costs.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - We had an overnight stay to catch our plane. Very clean and comfy room. Good breakfast!
- vcattroll (4/5): Nice hotel very comfortable, just not a very good breakfast - The location is good on the corner near the local shops and only a short walk to the sea and pier.
The atmosphere wasn't great.
The rooms are lovely we had a Premier Plus room on the third floor, it has everything you want the beds are comfy the bathroom is great with power shower and 2 lights with a dimmer one for night time.
The room had a fridge with 2 bottles of water and hairdryer and iron and ironing board and kettle and coffee machine.
Brilliant value for money.
It was very clean and the noise levels was ok even though they are doing the path outside, we had a great night's sleep.
The service was ok apart from breakfast I don't know if they had a new chef but the first day the breakfast was ok but the second day the bacon was hard and the scrambled egg wasn't set it was all runny on the plate.
The evening meal was ok, but you had to wait and there was only certain things on the menu, as they hadn't ordered enough in. The chef could only cope with one order at a time, like one at 6pm one at 6.30pm etc. He couldn't do like 2 couples placing an order at 6pm.
So a great place to stay but not to eat at the moment.
- FarAway03664334601 (4/5): No what I expected - General cleanliness of the room needs attention, which is not what I expected from a premier inn unfortunately. There was hairs found in the bed, dirt found in and around the bathroom, carpet has a musty smell. (Please see attached photo of the bathroom wet wipes) This is not what I expected to do on my evening that I arrived.
- roopeshjames (2/5): Pathetic customer service - The room was good. But the customer service was bad.
Used towels were there in the bathroom in bathtub and also there were no new towels.
And I needed to go downstairs to report it, waited a long time in the reception, and finally i did say about the used towels and asked them for new towels. And she went and took new towels which was handed over in the reception. And I went room with those towels in my hand all the way. Such a pathetic service. Do you guys think I was staying there for free of cost? I've paid nearly 200 gbp and you guys didn't have minimum common sense.
- Travis (8/5): - The room was very clean, and the staff were very professional and courteous and helpful
- JasonH496 (10/5): Good choice to get to airport - I had no issues at all with this hotel—everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the stay was as expected. It’s very close to the airport: about £20 by cab, or you can walk about 5 minutes to a bus stop and take public transport if you prefer. There’s also plenty of parking on-site (around £7 per night).
One important thing to note is the location: there is absolutely nothing around the hotel. The closest options are a McDonald’s and a fully stocked gas station about a 15-minute walk away, which requires crossing some busy roadways. Thankfully, the hotel does have an on-site restaurant, and prices seemed fair, but you do need to book a time slot—even for walk-up / take-out service.
Based on what I paid for the night (around £50), I give it 5 stars. I knew what I was getting into, and it delivered exactly that: a clean, convenient airport hotel. That said, now that I’ve learned how many buses run from downtown Edinburgh to the airport in about 30 minutes (and they leave every 30 minutes at least, even overnight or early morning), I don’t think staying out here is strictly necessary unless you want to be right by the airport.
For Canadian and American travelers, just a reminder that rooms do not come with mini-fridges, which may be different from what you’re used to.
The only issue was that despite what seemed to be a working thermostat, the temperature did not rise when I adjusted.
Overall, a reliable, budget-friendly airport hotel if proximity to the airport is your top priority.
- SheffeldMandy (10/5): Fab few nights away - Great stay in fab location for 1) Seven Sisters coast walk - using local buses to the start then walking back to hotel. 2) Local restaurants and seafront. 3) Close to several great off road bike trails- Bedgebury, Friston & South Downs Way. Car park is off site & payable (very reasonable) but very close with a loading bay outside the hotel if needed.
Usual decent room with comfy bed and love that we can store our bikes in the room. Room was too hot but staff got us a fan which was sufficient to keep us comfortable ( would benefit from air con in Summer).
Friendly & helpful staff who gave us great tips for local restaurants. Had fab Turkish at Turkuaz, and fab (amazing value) set menu at Pomodoro Mozzarella Italian. Breakfast & dinner in the hotel restaurant were very good too.
- Sydney (10/5): - Lovely staff and tasty food in restaurant. Room spotless and bed comfy. Transport in cab to airport prompt and convenient.
- Wander429781 (10/5): Five star stay - Five stars, located within a 10 minute walk from the train station and beach.
Premier plus room was clean and warm, great air conditioning for when it got a little to warm with the sun in the room, room 312 located at the rear of the hotel so no road noise, view of roof tops and 1960’s concrete multi storey car park, but don’t visit places to sit in room and look out of the window!
All staff encountered from front of house to housekeeping attentive and friendly a great team on my stay.
Room clean and hallways / public areas.
- Richard (6/5): - I called the Premier Inn four times to get instructions from getting to the airport to the inn. All four times a recording told me that the team was helping other guests, call back later. Very disappointing. We ended up asking the bus drivers which bus we should use. The bus driver dropped us at the wrong stop. We ended up at The Travelodge. They called a cab for us and we paid for another ride. All probably could have been avoided if we could have spoken to someone at Premier Inn. Breakfast was very good, check out was very easy.
- rachel (8/5): - This room affords the basic accommodations a traveler would need prior to leaving from the Edinburgh Airport. Be advised, there are 2 premier Edinburgh Airport locations, so use the exact address from your booking when searching for navigation. We stayed in room 104 which appeared to be handicap accessible with emergency pull cords much like a hospital room. I’m not sure if all the rooms are set up like this but I did not request a special room so it is worth mentioning. Parking for overnight was conveniently available in the on-site parking lot for 7 pounds/night. I cannot speak to the breakfast as we had to leave earlier than it was served.
- Brandy L (10/5): - From checking in to checking out, this hotel was great! I appreciated Scott at check-in very much. Super kind and helpful with explaining the meal deal and other hotel amenities and my questions about getting taxi, etc. The restaurant was really good! I had an excellent dinner and breakfast. They serve breakfast until 10:30 on weekday, so that was appreciated as I like to sleep late.
It's close to the airport, so very convenient. Large parking lot. My hotel room was great.
Quiet room and I appreciated the elevator!!! A lot of previous hotels I was at were walk ups only. My room, #244, was very comfortable and large! The bed was soooo big, soft, comfy, and warm! Nice size bathroom with both a tub and shower. Large TV.
Just a perfect end to my Scotland vacation! Thank you!
- kate (4/5): - The realization that we spent 60 lbs. to and from the airport was simply deceptive. It is called a
Airport hoteland that means there is a shuttle-I will not be a customer again.
- jeanb168 (10/5): Premier Inn - a good overall stay - This is well located for your needs when in Edinburgh, we have stopped here overnight for the last 7 years at this time. No complaints.
- 307lucyt (8/5): Couldn’t fault the cleanliness - The hotel is very conveniently located, only a short walk from both the station and the seafront. We couldn’t fault the cleanliness of our room and it was perfectly comfortable and quiet at night. Dinner was a bit chaotic on the first night with an hour’s wait for food, but there was a vast improvement on our second and third nights. Breakfast is always lovely at Premier Inn, food in the evenings was a bit hit and miss. The banoffee cheesecake was particularly horrible, but I enjoyed everything else I had and couldn’t complain about the meal deal price. The staff were perfectly pleasant to us and I would stay here again in the future.
- Jalene (2/5): - It says "airport" for the name but not even close to the airport and nothing around for restaurants etc. Just car dealerships around it. The check in experience terrible. The tub was dirty and they don't have things like kleenex in the rooms. They were short staffed for the dining room. All around I do not recommend to stay here.
- Kathryn J (8/5): - Came in late. Kiosks not functioning. Had to call receptionist. Breakfast was not complimentary, to our surprise. Otherwise all was just fine.
- richardfT1630AM (4/5): Not great - The check in kiosk did not work. Our room smelled of smoke and the hotel was unable to change our room. They suggested talking to staff in the morning about a discount due to the smoke but when we left the next morning we could not find any staff at the desk or lobby to talk to. Also had to pay extra for parking.
- Chris (6/5): - This is an average business Hotel.
- Usman (4/5): - There is a charge for the parking very outdated bathroom looks like hospital bathrooms
- Donna (8/5): - No phone in the room so no wake up call could be arranged. Room seemed stuffy and we both found it extremely hot for sleeping.
- amandasJ9949XG (10/5): Great Stay - I had a great stay recently! Check in was efficient, the room was clean and bed was so comfortable! Breakfast was delicious, all hot and fresh! Didn't have dinner as was out with family but the menu looked nice. Great location as its very central to the shops. Would stay again!
- paddyhealy1 (10/5): I cannot fault this place. - Not far from the airport. Quick and easy parking & payment for your car. Quick & easy check in process. The staff are friendly & helpful. They always seem so busy! It must be a popular location. The food is very good. Excellent all round for me.
- HeidiMost (8/5): Affordable option close to airport and make sure to make dinner reservations. - This is one of the few affordable hotel options near the hotel. You still need to take a cab or Uber (cheaper to Uber), but the total cost with transportation is still significantly cheaper than the airport hotels. We bought the Meal Deal, BUT MAKE SURE TO MAKE RESERVATIONS FOR DINNER in addition. We thought prepaying for the meal would guarantee us a spot, but it did not. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast options were plentiful.
- Anitha (4/5): - Our room had a damp musty smell. It was really bare bones. Everything was dated and could use a refresh. Glad I had only 1 night to endure. I tried to get my room changed but apparently they didn’t have a better room. For the price i paid for the night i think i couldn’t done way better
- sburchard (2/5): Avoid if you possibly can. - My room was directly above a very noisy fan which ran all night. I spoke about it to the morning receptionist who told me that it was an air conditioning unit which should be turned off at night. She said that she would remind the staff to do this but could not change my room as the hotel was fully booked.
On my return that evening I asked the evening receptionist about the fan. She said that it was cooling for the cellar and could not be turned off. She added that they were fully booked but had it mentioned raised the issue that morning they could have changed my room! I believe that this version was correct.
In addition to the fan problem the housekeeping staff do not know how to make a bed and think that adjusting the duvet does the job.
All in all the hotel can not be described as either ‘comfortable’ or ‘value for money’.
- Alison (8/5): - No shuttle to airport and although the hotel restaurant was good there were no other choices around. The machine for check in did not recognize us so had to wait for a staff member to pass who could help us. The staff were really lovely and the room was clean. Bed comfortable.
- Robin (10/5): - This hotel was very clean and up-to-date. The perfect place to stay the night before catching an overseas flight. The restaurant was very good and they have a nice little bar.
- Paul (6/5): Disappointed - The staff wanted us to check in using their automated system but if you are an international traveler it doesn’t work for you. So checking was frustrating and took a long time. Any extras like parking or basic breakfast costs extra but this is not part of the booking information. I had to make a change in my booking within minutes of my initial booking and I was charged for the initial booking and the changed booking. Very uncool. I would not recommend this hotel to any one.
- Elif (4/5): - Not worth it for the price unfortunately, stayed here because it was close to the airport but would’ve rather stayed in the city for this price
- B7948CLmarkh (2/5): Car park chargable nightmare beware - Please be aware that you have to pay for parking at the hotel, I foolishly believed parking would have been included when you are a guest, I used the hotel after landing at Edinburgh Airport at 4am, wanting to get a rest before a 3 hour drive home, I received a £57 parking charge, would have liked a more upfront notice about the parking, I rang the hotel and the manager was not interested.
Not sure I will use a Premier in again when traveling.
- miraclepie (8/5): Nice but too hot! - We stayed for two non-consecutive nights on our 10 day trip to Scotland in September 2025. I live a premier Inn and felt it was great value for money. We had a family room and both times it was set up appropriately. We had enough room for all four of us to sleep and the bathroom also provided very good shower pressure and a nice bath.
I would stay again but here’s what I didn’t like:
- the windows didn’t open and it was so incredibly hot! We kept the air conditioning on all night but nearly all of us woke up sweating. I don’t think AC goes below 19C in most hotels which I’ll never understand.
- we booked the meal deal as we were landing at 5pm and didn’t want to faff around looking for dinner. But when we got there for 7pm they said there was no room for dinner until 9pm and so we had to get a refund and eat at McDonald’s which is very close. We then also tried to eat there on our last night but the restaurant didn’t even open until 5pm!
- Navigator30283 (6/5): Ok stay but wont go back - Great help from the receptionist, she was a star.
Barman was really grumpy!
Its a bit out of the way from the airport and you nedd ataxi there and back so expensive.
Dont try phoning ther hotel as they never answer the phone
- Kelly (10/5): Wonderful - It was a great place, very clean, loved the king bed Wish we had stayed at the chain at other locations on our trip. Keep up the good work!
- GEORGE (6/5): - I didn't like the fact that it was a self check in place, never experienced that before, neither the fact that the self check in didn't work, so had to seek assistance. Once assistance arrived it was fine
- Shea (10/5): - Very friendly staff, clean rooms, yummy breakfast buffet and dinner options
- malc970 (10/5): Above and beyond - Staff were exceptionally nice and explained everything about my stay at check in. Also supplied a phone charger when mine failed politely and without fuss. Felt really welcomed. Would highly recommend this hotel and it's very nice staff 👍
- Julie (10/5): - The night manage was very helpful by arranging a taxi for our early 4:00 a.m. ride to the airport.😊
- Karen (8/5): - Quiet room.
- Maite (10/5): - Personal muy atento y servicial.Nos dejaron guardar nuestro equipaje hasta la hora del checking.
Habitación y camas muy cómodas.
Desayuno muy completo y rico.
- Kim (8/5): - Stayed here as we had a very early flight the next morning.
Had an enjoyable meal also.
- Linda (10/5): - liked the breakfast buffet for 11.99
- Andrew (8/5): - I’ve always found mini fridges to be a strange addition to a hotel room, but when you’re travelling with a baby the lack of one or any ice machines is a bit awkward
- Cindy (6/5): - Mattress was not the most comfortable. The room was clean.
- Angela (10/5): - Affordable, short distance from airport
- Conway (2/5): - Its close to the airport but it has weird rules and almost no benefits.
- Paul (4/5): - All Windows cannot be opened as per hotel policy.
AC did not work properly and very noisy.
Changed rooms, staff was very accomodating and helpful. AC still super loud and making water sounds, as if leaking internally. Please order maintenance service.
Most blankets had stains from previous guests and gashes or holes. Please replace/ wash and check properly.
No free on property parking - only paid parking for £7 per night.
Very inconvenient to get to the airport without a car. Offer shuttle or free parking for guests.
- Morgan (4/5): - The automated check in was not user friendly. And signage for early check-in was very poor
- Ian (10/5): - Convenient location for airport access.
- John (10/5): - Modern hotel with restaurant but little human contact at reception or when leaving. Located behind several car dealerships and no scenic views but very utilitarian and close to EDI airport.
- Mahoogan (6/5): You Get What You Pay For - You get what you pay for. Definitely overpriced for the end of fringe: room was dusty and dirty, stains on curtains and furniture, mold in bathroom, and so hot. The last few nights only having a window and a fan my room stayed at 25 c with no relief. The staff were friendly and restaurant is attached for convenience. The Internet was atrocious the entire time and couldn’t connect or even stay connected. Quite a way from town but the buses only take about 20 min to get to the city and the bus stop is right outside.
- Mark (6/5): - This is a ok hotel very over priced. No Airport shuttle as it is a 10 minute drive away. Parking is not free as well.
- Douglas (8/5): Close to Airport - Arrived with a booked quad. Gave us a triple. Fortunately, Mark was there and found a solution. Room was clean but very tight for 4 people. Close to airport. No shuttle services. Restaurant was good even though the grill was down and could not get items off the menu. Breakfast was good as well.
- Karen (10/5): - sounded like we had a herd of elephants on the floor above us on the second night of our stay. Kept waking us up. The night before was quiet so this was probably an anomaly. Other than that it was great.
- MOOSE-CANADA63 (10/5): Lovely Room - Clean room Very comfortable bed. Bathroom was clean with a strong shower head
Parking facility was chargeable but responsibly priced. £4 per night
- peterdS3318XA (10/5): A sunny bank holiday visit to Eastbourne - We decided to do a late booking to Eastbourne for a long weekend break.
We decided to go back to the Premier Inn in the town centre as we have been before.
We were advised that there are currently roadworks outside the hotel but they we not a problem as it was a bank holiday so no workmen around.
We have been to this Premier Inn a couple if times before as we like the central location and close proximity to the pier and beach.
This has always been a very clean and well maintained hotel.
The food is alwaus excellent with the buffet breakfast alway being hot and not just warm like many other hotels.
The staff we all very friendly and approchable but a big shout out to both Dawn and JD who were on when returned to the hotel in the evenings.
Usually we get back and just head to our room but these two are amazing ambassadors who took time out of their busy schedules to just have a chat and a laugh. Felt like we were spending an evening with old friends !
Only downside to the hotel is no onsite parking, so parking in the roads and having to move the car as around the actual hotel there is a 2 hour parking limit, although longer parking is available a few minutes walk away, but, this is due to the town centre location.
Would definately go back again and highly recomment this particular Premier Inn.
- Martaksa (6/5): Un aprobado muy justo, al menos, para ir en agosto - The hotel is very dated and needs a facelift and some basic renovations. For example, the beds are very soft and show signs of wear. It was very hot and couldn't be regulated, and the bedding is very warm, even for very low temperatures, which wasn't the case when we were there. The Wi-Fi in the room also didn't work, which could easily be improved. It's far from the city center, but has very good public transport links. In August, all accommodation in Edinburgh is expensive, but it's clearly a lot of money for what's offered.
- SARABJIT (8/5): - Well maintained and efficiently run hotel. Premier Inn has perfected the process of delivering a convenient and comfortable stay to its guests.
There’s room to make the breakfast more appealing, since it feels a bit ordinary at the moment.
- Caseyfourseven (6/5): Good could be better - Good price and friendly staff! The room was quiet clean.. a little bit of dust here and there but nothing too bad.
The experience could be perfect if the mattress was not in so bad condition (could feel the springs on my body) and the shared parts of the hotel were renovated. The bad smell at first floor is too much!! Floor carpeting need to be renovated or cleaned.
- BR14NLEE (4/5): Poor by Premier Inn standards and at £276 per night dismal value - Having arrived early (2:30 for a 3:00 check in) we went to reception to see if they had a bag drop, starting the conversation with the receptionist " I know we are early but" i didn't get the bag drop question out before I was told early check in was £15, we walked away and went to the bar where we were served by a very hard working and pleasant female bar tender. We had our drinks and returned to check in, where miss congeniality had not thawed on degree, we got to our room dropped our bags and went straight out to the event we were there to attend. On our return later that night we had a proper look at the £276 a night room ( inflated price due to the Edinburgh Fringe / tattoo and AC DC at Murrayfield) but none the less a £276 small cramp dark and very very noisy room, Room 4 is just across from reception and just outside the window is the air con unit to cool the beers for the bar, window closed even stuffier room, window open like sleeping in a badly maintained motorboat engine. Breakfast was good, well cooked and pleasant staff, on checkout we had found on hanger with the cross strut missing, exposing two rather sharp fixing pins, I took it to reception to report it for replacement and not to leave it for someone to cut themselves on, I started to explain to the same receptionist from the preceding day only to get the same attitude, I am sure she said I'd broken it but at this point I had already placed the hanger on reception desk, deposited my room card and turned to leave, hopefully never to return.
- Steven (8/5): - My only complaint is that it is very hard to reach them by phone. I had an important question before setting off on my journey. I tried calling around 20 times over a 6 hour period with no success. When i got there, they admitted that the phone is rarely answered. Everything else was great.
- Bruce (6/5): - This property was for the most part, what I expected, it was ok for the price, but they need to improve on their system for housekeeping. I told the front desk person that I wanted our room cleaned while we were gone for the day , we got back that evening around 9pm only to find that our room had not been cleaned and know fresh towels. To say we were disappointed is to put it mildly!!!
- Lauren (10/5): - Close to the airport. Large rooms with air conditioning.
It has a restaurant on site but when we went to eat there we were told it was closed because they had let in a large group and to come back at 9:30, when it would reopen. When we went back at 9:30, they were rather abrupt with us and said they took the last order at 9:35. They reluctantly let us in when we told them that was what we had been told. I am celiac and their Gluten free options were the poorest I had seen in the UK in 3 weeks.
- Lorraine (8/5): - I was a bit out of the way. Kind of confusing as there is no actual front desk so you have to wait to find someone to help you. Very casual and dining was very limited
- Annapatriciauk (10/5): Lovely hotel with amazing staff - Stayed with 2 children under 2 and have to say the whole stay was amazing.
The staff are absolutely amazing - couldn’t do more to help, from reception to the restaurant.
Room was very clean and spacious that comfortably fit 2 travel cots.
1000% recommend
- steveaC7351DI (10/5): Lovely stay close to beach & parking - Very good location close to the beach & parking, friendly staff, bonus of beautiful church view from our room window, lovely unlimited breakfast next morning
