Guest Reviews
- Z7549PKjuliae (10/5): I recently stayed in your hotel and it was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had - The staff was incredibly friendly and efficient," "The room was spotless and comfortable, with excellent views," and "The breakfast buffet was delicious, with a huge variety of options". Thank you for great stay!!! We will be back 🥰❤️
- 753renedym (10/5): The best stay at any hotel in London! - I am vehemently expressing how much I enjoyed my pleasant stay! The customer experience with the staff was amazing. I would recommend coming back to this establishment with great confidence I will be looked after.
- MichelleT924 (10/5): Perfect Premier for Leisure trip to the city of london - This is a really nice Premier Inn. Perfect location as a base to explore London - literally 5 mins walk from mainline King’s Cross and St Pancras stations. 10 minutes walk to Coaldrops yard - a must visit for lovely shops/cafes/restaurants and the wonderful Everyman Cinema generally a nice area, road is busy at rush hour but quiet overall in the night. Looks really nice as you walk in with lovely atrium and Costa coffee and bar +block restaurant attached. The staff were all lovely, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast as always was great. I would highly recommend this Premier Inn.
- AlanTB3Tracy (8/5): Would be great, were it not for the noise from the street in the middle of the night. - Nice hotel in a very convenient location for Kings Cross station. Comfortable bed, powerful shower, and nice breakfast. There is just one problem, at least for guests with rooms overlooking York St (facing Kings Cross station), noise! Not traffic noise, but people, very loud people shouting at each other, a lot, in the middle of the night, frequently. Avoid unless you can sleep through anything.
- anonymouss981 (2/5): Poor - Great location, room was very badly ventilated we were all sweating, it had to windows to the outside just one to the foyer down stairs that didn’t open. The room smelt, the towels and bedsheets smelt. There was peeling paint in the bathroom. The floor was dirty and it sticks to your foot every time you walk on it. The room was difficult size wise with a pushchair. Though I know they have bigger room, for this reason we didn’t end up using the cot. The restaurant was friendly the food was sub standard, very sugary cocktails.
- Loo103 (8/5): Thanks Hacine - Nice easy walk from King’s Cross. The lobby and bar are spacious with plenty of seating while waiting for friends etc
Our first room was a bit smelly but Hacine was really helpful and sorted us out
- 159nickyy (10/5): I will certainly be back!! - Great location near shops and easy to find. Comfortable and clean rooms. All staff super friendly and helpful. You must enjoy the Fabulous breakfast with selections for everyone from cooked breakfasts to fruit and yogurt. Amazing young lady at breakfast named Tia. Sparkling personality and extremely friendly. I have a good allergy and I felt completely safe in her hands. Thank you so much Tia!!!
- tflynnuk (8/5): Unique building with familiar Premier Inn service - Stayed here while visiting family in the local area. It's a pretty unusual building for a Premier Inn, being a converted textile mill. The rooms are located on the upper floors, with the reception being on the top floor, along with a restaurant. Sadly the floors are accessible with two of the slowest lifts known to mankind - I assume there is some architectural reason as to why they can't be replaced, as they seem to be hydraulic vs. cables.
The room had a large window and had decent storage, along with a desk and chair to relax in. The bathroom was the only thing that let the room down - it felt a little dated and we had a weird quirk with the toilet. When you flushed it, it took ages (as in 10-15 minutes) to fill back up again We did report it to reception but it was never addressed, but seeing it mentioned in multiple reviews here, it seems like an issue with the building.
The location was great. You were on the main road in 5 minutes, and having all of the food options nearby was perfect when we got back late and didn't feel like driving somewhere to eat dinner.
Even with the shortcomings, we'd consider staying here again mostly due to the perfect location for our family needs.
- nicolecF3678HV (2/5): Black mould everywhere - Do not book this hotel. It has a significant mould issue that can cause health issues. My daughter and I attempted to stay here only to become extremely unwell due to the black mould on the walls and curtains. We both had significant asthma attacks. Management admitted the hotel had a mould problem but didn’t feel it was an issue. We were moved to another room that was much smaller and not what I paid for. The air conditioning did not work. The sheets had blood on them in this room. In the morning we were offered a refund on our pre paid breakfast. We decided to check out and were told by the manager our travel agent would be refunded the balance of our stay. The Premier Inn has refused all refunds. The Manager lied. This hotel is not fit for habitation. Black mould is a bio hazard.
- A4416TBalisonb (4/5): Very noisy rooms - I would advise you not to stay here but book the Hub instead. I stayed Thursday and Friday nights last week. On Thursday I was woken up at 1am by a large group of very noisy guests in the hotel courtyard which my room overlooked. On Friday there was a huge amount of street noise from motorbikes at 3am.
- nikitaw572 (10/5): Show - Kristina was very welcoming and we were allowed to check in early which was great for us! The room was clean with everything we needed for our trip.
- BBlackham (10/5): London trip - Good location for transport links.
Friendly atmosphere, clean and bright.
Twin room with comfy mattress and pillows.
- theresat604 (8/5): A good experience overall - We stayed for one night in the no frills double room while seeing a show in the West End. The hotel is within a very short walking distance from St Pancras and Kings Cross. It’s surrounded by many restaurants such as Five Guys, Nandos, Mac Donald’s and others. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel called Bar + Block and on the other side a Costa. We ate out the night we stayed over so didn’t eat a meal there but did have breakfast the following morning. The hotel looks good on entering with a large seating areas with sofas. There are self check in screens as well as a manned reception desk. Bags are kept in a back room if you can’t check in before 3pm. Our room was small but comfortable. You get a kettle and a coffee each with a tea each too and some sugar. I’ve never only had such little in any hotel. Would have been nice to have more but we were out anyway. The bed was very comfortable. Tv. Hairdryer. Bathroom looked nice and clean.
Negatives Only one towel given for 2 people so had to get another one. Shower head was covered in yellow/orange limescale and was very small. The water came out all over the place due to the limescale. Wasn’t expecting a fancy shower head but a clean one that wasn’t the size of half my palm would have been nice. The water got just past warm. Not hot which I’m used to at home and other hotels. Not sure what the issue was with that. Also would have liked a few more sachets of coffee, sugar & milk.
Overall a good stay and would stay again next time we’re in London. Would probably upgrade for a better shower head though.
- danidV4826YS (10/5): Fab enjoyable stay! - Great location for transport links, very friendly reception team always happy to help and luggage storage a fab addition. Highly recommend Kings Cross Premier Inn
- Moretonaesthetics (10/5): Great location, clean and comfortable. - Great location, clean and comfortable. Would recommend. Right outside Kings Cross Station and an easy walk from Euston.
- paulfF8555JI (10/5): Astonishing! - Staying at your hotel was an amazing experience! The staff was exceptional, thank YOU! Very clean, modern, the food is great
- 586carinad (10/5): The best - I had an excellent stay at Premier Inn London King’s Cross. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet for such a central location. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my visit, and the hotel is just steps away from the station, which made getting around London incredibly easy. Highly recommended.
- Richardson132 (10/5): 30 seconds from the train station - I stayed at Premier Inn London King’s Cross during a recent business trip and couldn’t be more impressed. The check-in process through GoStar was incredibly smooth and efficient, making my arrival effortless.
The team were consistently friendly, professional, and attentive throughout my stay. My room was spotless, quiet, and comfortable — exactly what you need after a long day of meetings.
Location-wise, it’s unbeatable: just a short walk from King’s Cross and St Pancras stations, with great transport links and plenty of places to eat nearby.
Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. Highly recommended for business travellers looking for reliability, comfort, and great service.
- Z2735CIalisonm (10/5): Good stay - Clean comfortable. Accessible room excellent for elderly Mum. Lovely breakfast, Tracey friendly and helpful .
Parking in adjacent car park easy and only £6 for overnight. No hassle
- Q7770WYdavidh (10/5): An amazing hotel - The expiriance was nice and the staff are nice aswell. The service was quick. The rooms were clean. The rooms were preety big aswell
- andreeapN7158XT (10/5): The team was very friendly, nothing was too much for them, the hotel was clean, very good location, close to St Pancras - The team was very friendly, nothing was too much for them, the hotel was clean, very good location, close to St Pancras Station. There is a Costa and a Steakhouse next door, which where both lovely. We will definitely return.
- Peach1038 (10/5): Great value, location, clean and quiet rooms - I initially booked this via booking dot com as I wanted good value and clean and felt you can always trust a premier inn for that.
The area surrounding the hotel seems to have a lot of Turkish kebab shops and barbers. One night we needed a quick bite locally and you don’t have to go far at all.
Just a 15 min walk to The Dom/ cathedral. It’s right by a train station though we never used this. £36 in an uber to and from the airport
Rooms aren’t serviced as standard, you have to request
The room was absolutely huge, like Suite though I’m sure I paid for just a double room. Shower was great, there were numerous plug points, mattress was good
We did not eat breakfast here as we’d come to sample the food Cologne has to offer so I can’t comment. Lots of cafes and pastry shops and great coffee around.
- TokyoJ2000 (8/5): A Peaceful Night's Sleep - This hotel is perfect if you're heading to the continent on Eurostar early in the morning as the hotel is just around the corner from St Pancras International. My room was the standard Premer Inn on the 2nd floor. Nothing spectacular but it was clean and it was quiet. I didn't have a chance to try out the restaurant unfortunately. The staff at the front desk were polite and friendly. All in all - a good experience.
- Casfan1978 (2/5): Avoid.... noisy with the pub outside.... - Absolutely dreadful.
If you are on the first floor and want a good nights sleep - forget it.
An ordinary Thursday night, the street outside is lively next to the pub after 10, people shouting but worst of all around 1130 they start emptying the bottles in to the recycling bins that are parked on the pavement on the opposite of the road to your room.
Then the best bit. Around 6am the brewery truck with its flashing lights comes to collect all the empty kegs and drop off new kegs of alcohol.
Then at 7am, the council refuge truck collects the bottles and the crashing sounds recommence.
No issue with this but sound proof the rooms at least. We were in room 144.
For £215 - a joke - that's about £50 for every hours sleep I had - but the best bit is that whilst reception were sorry to hear about the issue, their goodnight price promise guarantee doesn't cover this disruption !
Basically no f**cks given by Premier Inn.
Avoid.
- R2526LGgeorges (6/5): Could be a cracking hotel if only the extras the cared for - Room was nice and big with a comfortable bed as expected. The issues came with access to the reception and restaurant which are both on the 4th floor. The only working lift is small and incredibly slow, it took an age to get anywhere. The other service lift apparently has been broken for ages. Trying to leave while others were using the lift was impossible.Ended up coming down the steep stairs with suitcases which both my wife and I stumbled with, as a pair of oldlies it was difficult and dangerous. An accident waiting to happen.
Booked breakfast which was ok for the cooked element but the so called continental option was awful, just a couple of tatseless pastries and a bit of fruit. We were going to book for dinner but went elsewhere as there was only one chef cooking and when we looked there were a lot of customers looking cheesed off with one girl saying she has waited an hour.
We went for the good nights rest as described by Lenny H which is what we had and there was a nice Tapas bar near by that was pretty good. Shame really this lovely building could be a cracking hotel if the extras were upto scratch.
- davidgJ8754OH (6/5): Pleasant Stay...........Eventually - Arrived early unable to get in.
Eventually someone replied on intercom that we couldn't come in until 3-00pm,this was 2-35pm.
After a 2 hour car trip, not what I wanted to hear.
Glad it wasn't raining or snowing!
Surely we could have been allowed in and waited in bar area?
How did they know our actual room was unavailable?
Reception on 4 th floor.A 96 step walk up!!!
There are 2 lifts, one hasn't worked for ages.
The lift that does work takes 1 minute to go from Ground Floor to 4th Floor.
Premier Inn are so proud of this they have a cartoon of a tortoise climbing stairs in the lift itself.
I would feel very concerned if I was in a wheel chair when the Fire Alarms went off.
There are notices telling you not to use the lift if the Fire Alarms sound.
You would be literally stuck in the middle of a fire, with no means of escape.
Surely this is illegal?
Room adequate.
Had to book for Evening Meal. Why?
We turned up early for pre - dinner drinks place practically empty.
Had to wait for one of the two staff working, to guide us to our table.
As he was doing so he reeled off all the unavailable food items we couldn't have.
Felt a bit sorry for this guy.
He was trying to attend Reception, take orders and deliver the food to tables.
Everyone dining had to wait for him to finish a task before he could deal with the next guests requests.
This is ludicrous.
In fact a few guests, came to Reception, and after waiting and waiting just went away.
Eventually got served, ordered Fish and Chips.
Told there would be a 20 minute delay whilst the fish would be ready!
A 20 minute delay for a fish to be cooked in a Professional Kitchen?
Were they going to catch the fish first?
Food finally arrived, and to be honest was delicious.
Ordered a second bottle of wine to take to our room after dinner.
Oh dear!
No bottle available in Bar fridge, fresh bottles in Store Room, but other Server has key and disappeared.
Eventually second bottle appears, but obviously is warm.
Well, just put it in ice bucket to chill, whilst we finish first bottle of wine, and our meal.
No ice buckets!
What?!!
Second server takes warm wine into kitchen, comes out later as we finish and pay bill with chilled wine.
Brilliant!
Thank him very much, and very pleased with his attitude.
Both these guys were rushed off their feet, and as a result Customers were made to suffer.
Premier Inn Management need to sort these penny pinching ideas out.
After all,Customer is King
- F1964KMalanh (10/5): Good, reasonably priced hotel. Friendly staff. - Other reviewers have commented on the "upside down" design, with reception on the top floor of this repurposed textile mill and its "tortoise lift".
The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. I had the meal deal, and all dinners were good - fish and chips, rigatoni and katsu curry on the three nights I was there. Breakfast was quite good, but the hotel was a bit overshelmed when I stayed, with an unusual number of guests. It was the first weekend of half-term and perhaps parents were attracted by special deals for kids. Anyway, breakfast items were being consumed at pace, and I was told they actually ran out of food one morning.
The hotel is in the town centre. Guests who have travelled by car have commented on the parking arrangements with the adjacent public car-park. I arrived by train and the main purpose of my visit was to have a weekend riding on the Severn Valley Railway. This is the main tourist attraction of the town. The good news is that the bus station is about ninety seconds' walk from the hotel. The bad news for weekend visitors is that the bus service is virtually non-existent on Sunday.
On arrival, I walked from the mainline station (adjacent to the steam railway station). It was doable, even for a less than agile septuagenarian, but the town's town planning seems to have stuck in the 1960s, with no level pedestrian crossings over the ring road, and people walking from the station consequently required to dive into underpasses. Saturday was fine, as was my return to the station on Monday, when I was able to use a reasonable bus service from hotel to railway stations. Sunday was Uber day! In particular, on the first day of winter time, I didn't fancy returning to the hotel through the underpasses.
So, the hotel is great from the point of view of accommodation and accessibility, allowing for the exceedingly slow lift. The food offer is good at dinner, with the meal deal (breakfast, dinner of two courses and a drink) being good value. Breakfast is pretty good, but there may be some prssure at busy times. Whether it's the right hotel for you may depend on what you intend to do. Weekend railway-oriented visitors do need to be aware that it's on the other side of town and there are no viable buses on Sunday.
- Daniel (10/5): - Sehr gute Lage. Lebendiges Viertel
- Ola (10/5): - Riktigt bra frukostbuffé. Restaurangen med egen bardel var också värda ett besök, god middag och goda drinkar.
- Kel (8/5): - Fabulous location to get up early and get the Eurostar to Paris.
- J3180JZheatherh (10/5): Best Premier Inn I have ever stayed in - Booked into this Inn for one night on our way to our holiday. WOW !!! The room was pristine, service was second to none and the restaurant was something else. All glassware and cutlery were so highly cleaned, no watermarks on either. Service was impeccable and the food was everything I hoped it would be. I would give this place my highest recommendation, first class.
- Zurisaddai (10/5): - Todo excelente no hay ninguna queja
- N4520WVtracyw (10/5): A refreshing change from all the other Premier Inns ..... - What a lovely, interesting place to stay! I would definitely stay again. Rooms much bigger than your standard Premier rooms - my room had 2 massive windows with a lovely view of the canal and surroundings. There are multiple well-named shops all on your doorstep. Restaurant well adorned with pictures of the past history of the Mill and its other nearby structures. Food very ample and tasty with reasonable prices. Staff really nice and friendly. Only downfall, have to pay for parking £1.40 for 1 hour and £6 for overnight stay 4 pm - 10 am not too bad. 10/10.
- jonathanpK4621YD (10/5): Premier Inn Kidderminster. Well worth it. - Having been in many hotels over the the recent past, I did not go with high expectations of Premier Inn not having stayed at one before, but I have to say I was very impressed. The room was comfortable, the bed excellent, and the bathroom was in my view one of the best I've been in for a long time because I have a slight upper body disability and the large shower was a real boon for me, matching what I have at home. Too many budget hotels have showers that are awkward for me to use, not this one. The serve yourself breakfast was hot and fresh. There was plenty of choice of food and drinks. I only had breakfast but the evening meals looked good on the menu. Cannot fault the staff. I was attending for a specific event at the Severn Valley Railway, and will certainly use the Premier Inn again in the future. I attended using the train, those in cars will need to take account of the parking costs.
- ames40 (6/5): Staying in this premier in with friends discovered bar was not open 1st night so ok but was very disappointed that the 2nd night - Staying in this premier inn with friends lovely hotel however very disappointed as the bar was not open so this is the 2nd night in a row not good enough as you wanna get dressed have a few drinks at bar then go out for food.
- dawnlissan (6/5): Poor no bar services - Hotel fine - nice big comfortable rooms
HOWEVER… unacceptable to be told no bar available for 2nd day in a row
Not good enough that a Junior staff member was left to explain something about staff shortages
- Maria (10/5): Lovely stay - Everything was great. Close to train station. Friendly and accommodating staff. Comfortable bed and room.
- Julien (8/5): - Ideal gelegen für Zugreisen ab St Pancras und King's Cross
- Jan (8/5): - Heel behulpzaam personeel en een lekker ontbijt in Bar + Block.
- carol (8/5): - Perfect place to stay for a nite coming from airport and leaving on train next day. The staff was lovely. I’d definitely stay there again
- Gillian (10/5): - Great good central location
- dinkydino (10/5): Lovely old building, central location - Lovely big family room, plenty of space, and right next to pizza hut and mcdonalds, very central for shopping. The only gripe i have is lack of drawers/shelves for clothes in the room. Amazing staff, very patient with our autistic twin boys who liked to ‘help out’ at breakfast time, big shout out to the staff Jade, Sara (both) Richard, Tia, Paula and Adrian. You guys were amazing and Jack and Joe couldn't stop talking about you and wanting to see you all again
- Passenger51750676694 (4/5): Respect to Premier Inn for saving a historical building but the facilities are below par. - A very interesting reclaimed and renovated Mill building showing a lot of character and old features. However, the building arrangement is unusual with the reception being on the very top floor and a list that takes forever to get there (the second lift out of service). The staff are friendly but the food and facilities let the hotel down, almost suggesting that people would be reluctant to choose this hotel unless its a last resort.
- ameliabV214EM (10/5): 10/10 stay!! - 10/10 stay. This hotel is absolutely lovely. We had dinner & breakfast here and was looked after by Richard who was so kind & attentive. Would definitely recommend !!
- danlove66 (6/5): Some tweaks needed at this hotel. - Beautiful heritage building and sympathetic restoration of it.
Car park is chargeable and cost £6.40 for overnight. I would have thought Premier Inn would have sorted something out for guests with whoever owns the car park, as this was additional hassle prior to checking in.
Reception is on the 4th floor, which ordinarily would not have been an issue save for the fact that the main lift was out of order, and a secondary and very, very slow lift which took over 4 minutes to arrive and get to the 4th floor was in use.
The only other alternative was a 94 step stair climb to reception.
Upon booking we were invited to check in via the app, but there was no facility to pick up a room card, necessitating having to speak to reception anyway, who took a further 3-4 minutes to arrive!
Rooms are then sited below the 4th floor meaning the snail pace lift or the stairs again.
Staff expressed surprise the Premier Inn offer an online check in option when this hotel doesn't yet have the facility to handle it.
Obviously this is the usual issue of decision making 'management' being totally out of touch with what happens at the hotel.
Room was tidy, bathroom a bit tatty around the shower (Room 26) no traffic noise despite it's town centre location, but the bed and pillows were not up to the usual Premier Inn standard.
Breakfast was the usual Premier Inn experience and no complaints for us in this regard.
Checkout........back up the stairs again or grow old whilst waiting for the lift.
- ehorner220 (10/5): Brilliant Base In A Brilliant Location - Brilliant location, with plenty of car parking which is chargeable however you can pay for your parking on an app - it's £6.00 for overnight which is reasonable. The room was spacious and air conditioned and the bathroom was huge too, both rooms were clean and tidy with tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The team in the Premier Inn were knowledgeable and friendly too.
- 32suer (10/5): Never tire of staying here ! - I always stay at the Kidderminster Premier Inn as it is in such a good location. The staff are always welcoming and my rooms spotless. I’m not a good sleeper at the best of times but I always have a good restful sleep when staying in the PI. Will definitely be back !
- ramabham73 (4/5): Reservation not honored and unfriendly service - I made a reservation via Booking.com for 10 people (8 adults, 2 children aged 13 and 11). The system advised booking 4 × triple rooms, which I did. To my surprise, Premier Inn Köln City Mediapark completely ignored this and decided on their own which rooms we would get: 2 × double rooms and 2 × triple rooms.
When I mentioned this at the reception, I was given an extra room in an unfriendly manner. I even showed the key to one of the double rooms and asked if it could be returned, but this was refused. Later that evening, that same room was suddenly blocked in the system with the excuse that “the system” had done it. As a result, my son had to remove his belongings from the room.
According to the staff member, she did not charge for the extra room “as a courtesy.” When I addressed the issue, she gave a weak excuse about stress, broken elevators, and personal problems. This was delivered in an irritated tone, along with the remark that I should be happy I didn’t have to pay for the extra room.
- Aadgddd (10/5): Good staff - A big thank you to the day shift manger , sorry I don’t get his name .
Polite , professional and courteous.
You deserve a pay rise
- Eddtheduck1983 (2/5): Not accessible despite booking an accessible room - I booked an accessible room at Premier Inn Kidderminster, but unfortunately, it was anything but. The bed was far too high for someone with mobility issues — not just inconvenient, but borderline unsafe. The bathroom was even worse. It wasn’t a proper accessible bathroom at all. It had a standard bath with no handrails, which made it completely unsuitable and dangerous for anyone with limited mobility.
I booked an accessible room for a reason, and this felt like a standard room passed off as accessible. If you genuinely need accessible facilities, I wouldn’t recommend staying here until they actually sort it out.
- 505antheae (10/5): Excellent Staff here. Everyone was so helpful and nothing was too much for them. - Breakfast was Exceptional cooked by Tracey. Absolutely delicious,
Every Member of Staff were very helpful and kind.
Extremely clean rooms.
Definitely return here again.
- Kanelbullar (10/5): Nice reassuring premier Inn - Two main tips- there is a great pizza place just next to "Mr Baker" and a really handy launderette opposite. (Also opposite the sex shop, but we won't talk about that...)
A short walk from the Hauptbahnhof, this premier inn is fab. Friendly staff, standard premier inn, with a clean room, good breakfast etc. Set in an historical building, you can see the paternoster lift, but not use it, sadly.
- Hans (10/5): - This a great hotel, the great location with comfy beds and good showers and good breakfast.
- Maria (8/5): Skulle kunna bo här igen - Vistelsen var bra!
- Ramón (4/5): - Two restrooms on the ground floor - one with a broken locker, one with a broken toilet… ?!
A lot of maintenance to do in the building.
- TATSUYA (6/5): - The location is good. Front staffs are rude.
- Sonrichard (8/5): Tortoise - Visiting family and have used this hotel on quite a few occasions.
As usual the rooms are great, bed fantastic, lovely staff and air conditioning, which was just what was required in the recent weeks.
Premier Inns just get it right, spotless rooms with a great layout.
I cannot comment on the evening meals, but breakfast is great with a good choice for everyone.
The hotel would get 5/5 if they would just sort out the tortoise lift, which has been a problem for quite some time
- Road59377346008 (2/5): Refused Refund Despite Proof of Payment - I do not recommend this hotel. The staff is extremely rude and unhelpful. I was charged twice for breakfast, and when I was checking out, they assured me I would receive a refund to my card. After three weeks, they finally responded but are now refusing to refund the money, even though I have provided them with the official payment confirmation from my bank. This is unacceptable customer service, and I would not stay here again.
- Chuan Shu (2/5): - Very poor air-conditioned,very dirty !
I will never book this hotel again!
- Sabros (10/5): Excellent and comfortable Premier Inn - From the moment we arrived in the sweltering 30°C heat to the moment we left, we were thoroughly impressed with the quality and standard of our stay.
A special mention must go to Vicky on reception, who was an absolute credit to Premier Inn. From the outset, she went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable — particularly thoughtful during the mini heatwave, offering us a regular supply of fresh cold water and checking in to see if we needed anything. Her warm, professional, and attentive manner truly made a difference to our experience.
The rooms were exceptionally spacious — more than enough room for our family of four — and extremely comfortable. We also had breakfast on one of the mornings, which was delicious and well worth it.
As for the location, we didn’t find it to be an issue at all. Everything we needed was within a 10 to 15-minute walk, with plenty of restaurants and shops close by.
We would absolutely recommend this hotel for a short break in the beautiful city of Cologne.
- francophileonthemove (8/5): Fantastic staff! - I’ve stayed here several times for work and really like it!
It’s super quiet but very well located for shops and restaurants. It’s mega clean.
The staff couldn’t be more helpful. Everything from printing to taking in parcels. They’re all very friendly and helpful.
The food is, honestly, no different from any other Premier Inn (please do something about the awful fruit salad at breakfast!)
The sole reason for the imperfect score is the lifts! Others have mentioned them but one is often out of order and the other desperately slow. This needs sorting!
- nicolalD2473CT (6/5): 20 - 23rd Dec 2024 - We booked this hotel back in the Spring for our Christmas market visit. If you want to travel around by train, this hotel is perfectly located as it's moments away from Hansaring train station.
The hotel - we stayed for 3 nights and only saw 5 staff members throughout our entire stay. Thankfully, our stay was without issue but, had it been, we'd have struggled to get anyone to help, as the one staff member on Reception at any one time was always dealing with a huge queue! Easy to orderva taxi from.the hotel.
Room - family room. Room was clean and spacious, beds comfy and towels a-plenty. TV only had Sky news in English so perhaps they could invest in a smart TV which offers subtitles, or invest in Netflix. The shower head didn't stay up but my hair band did the trick!
Breakfast- breads, pastries, hams, cheese, sausages, bacon, eggs (scrambled and boiled) and beans, fruit, yoghurt and cereal. Coffee machine coffees and tea leaves in a selection of flavours for tea. Lots of tables, which were cleared and made available very quickly, and the loveliest lady staff member doing the clearing!
NO BAR AND NO FOOD ORDERING SERVICE AT ALL - Although, there was a sign saying that this was due to staff shortages.
Area - interesting. Moments away from the station, lots of graffiti which I liked, clean streets, a fair amount of siren noise and so many kebab shops, although a sign did say we were in the Iranian area, and a couple of burger bars. We didn't feel overly safe walking around in the evenings and, had I been on my own, I'd have felt very intimidated and scared and I'm originally from London! As such, we'd not stay in this area again. But, we did eat at the most amazing Thai restaurant! Sadly, can't remember the name but it was delicious!
- 963caprices (2/5): Quite literally a rubbish stay. - Convenient for train station and near to main attractions in Cologne.
Unfortunately room has not been cleaned throughout our stay, we were told it would be cleaned on day 3. Its now day 4 and I'm being promised tomorrow (day 5). There is a huge pile of rubbish in our room which is causing odour. This must be a risk for pests if the problem is hotel wide. There is nowhere for us to dispose of rubbish except street bins which is not acceptable.
We have to queue up at reception to ask for towels, toilet roll, coffees every day. There's no clean glasses or cups, we just have to rinse them in the bathroom basin.
We reported a problem with the safe on Tuesday. Was promised an engineer to come, they never did. Reported the issue on Wednesday, still no engineer arrived despite assurances. I emailed the hotel and head office, still no engineer. I have again reported it again this evening, but what is the point we check out on Saturday thank god.
Overall, this isn't a hotel, it's a joke. Give it a miss.
- gingentonic (10/5): Modern roomy hotel - I'm familiar with the Premier Inn brand in the UK, so when I needed to book a family-friendly hotel in Cologne I thought I'd have a look. It was one of the busiest weekends of the summer, due to a games convention, but the rates were still pretty good. The rooms were quite roomy, very clean and well kept, and the staff were helpful and attentive. When we arrived, we found that although we had booked a three-person family room, the spare bed was not made up. However, we reported this immediately, and the extra bed was made up straight away without any fuss.
One slight criticism is the breakfast, some was good, other parts less so, but it was fine. I wouldn't necessarily book breakfast ahead; I'd advise you to try one morning and see what you think. There are a few coffee bars in the neighbourhood, so other choices are available. It's about a 15 minute walk to the Hauptbahnhof, and the Hansaring railway station and U-Bahn is adjacent to the hotel, with transport links across the city and beyond.
The hotel itself has an interesting history. Built in 1924, and with 17 floors, the building was one of the first skyscrapers in Germany. It has a paternoster lift that is still working, though not open to the public.
Overall it was a great, well priced hotel. I would recommend!
