Guest Reviews
- 150hayleyd (10/5): Lovely Lewes - Chris and John were super friendly so accommodating and helpful made my booking experience a dream. Highly recommend!!!
- Kyrre (4/5): - The only thing Premier about this hotel is the name. they have rooms with beds but that is about it. I woke up in the middle of the night by some loud racketing outside the room (103 close to the breakfast room), thought it was someone drunk coming back, but it kept on and on. After some time I went out to the reception and it was the persons in the reception doing vacuumcleaning like a grumpy teenager bumping around chairs and slamming with doors. Was so angry at that point that it took me 2 hours to get back to sleep again.
Also the toilet was not clean and when I turned over my pillow-cover it was blood stains on it from the last user.
- joejoejoe54321 (10/5): Great stay - Great stay as always, place clean and welcoming. It’s my 5th time here and will be coming back. Amazing service from Zac and Misha
- elizabethwM5028JW (10/5): Central, Friendly, Clean - Best Premier Inn I’ve stayed in
* Fantastic city centre location
* New, clean and fresh
* Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Particularly Zac who made us exceptionally welcome and could not have done more to make it an enjoyable and comfortable stay
Thanks to all of the staff. You’re all doing a great job.
- L9639ZHjohna (10/5): quiet and clean - Stayed here regularly with work and wanted to say thank you for having past few months and always accomodating my favorite room 123. a nice big spacious room, always clean and always quiet.
- Suebarru (10/5): Delicious evening meal - can't wait to go back - Honestly so nice. The restaurant was warm and comfortable on what was a wet cold and dark night. The fish and chips were the best I've had for a long time. Fresh fish - and piping hot. Dessert was the banoffee cheesecake - utterly delicious. Nadine and Jaz looked after us beautifully - thank you so much.
- michaeldR1023EF (6/5): Okay but if you get room 1 … move because the washing machines are the room above you. - Stay here for two week course?
Rooms okay;bath rooms and windows need upgrading. Windows weren’t great;inner ones were the slider ones which didn’t keep the cold out…
Bath room well, need a paint need toilet rolls not a tissues box on the wall? 😆
Heating was a massive air con unit one the wall 🤔 …
- Camilla27 (10/5): Good value and high standard as expected from Premier Inn - Stopover en route from Southampton. No lift but given ground floor room on arrival due to problem with using stairs by the pleasant receptionist. Usual high standard with a spotless room and bathroom. Excellent breakfast! No complaints other than a hiccup with gaining the right access road off the dual carriageway due to my Sat Nav!
- kokos724 (10/5): Wonderful exerience we will stay again . - The staff were absolutly lovely especially front of house and the house keepin team were very polite and helpful.
Thank you .
- Pioneer62076924164 (8/5): Comfortable - Basic and comfortable. Could do with being understanding and compassionate and review their refund policy. Nice location.
- Traveler35627986212 (10/5): Relaxing, quiet and close to Lincoln - Excellent location, friendly staff, comfy clean bedrooms and good quality food and service in the restaurant.
Would recommend
- X1788SCemmab (10/5): Perfect night sleep - Great warm welcome, very friendly staff, comfortable room and bed, very clean and perfectly cooked breakfast even provided an umbrella for the rain 10/10
- elizabethwK2935XH (10/5): Always a pleasure - clean, friendly and reliable - Bed was very comfortable and clean as always, found it very easy to fall asleep as it is generally very quiet at this hotel. Seems like they were working on the wifi finally which is much appreciated as a returning guest at this hotel! Something that is always great is that the staff always ensures that we have extra towels and drinking glasses already in the room before our arrival which i appreciate a lot as its something I usually require when staying at a hotel. Overall always good to be in such a quiet area of lincoln which isnt too far from the centre. Only suggestion is that the hotel communal areas require a refurb some day but ofcourse that cannot be done overnight.
- HappyDevon_traveller (8/5): only one disappointment - great location in town centre near Station aswell , room was excellent very quiet , everything you could want , but unfortunately the young lady on reception was positively hostile and very rude. shame as this is not common with premier inn usually I find the staff very nice. the one cleaner I spoke to was very nice so this was down to one unpleasant individual. overall the hotel is very good
- X9754DEsuer (10/5): All good - Enjoyed my stay. Friendly staff, Gemma on reception was lovely, efficient and knowledgeable. Room was clean and I liked the location of the hotel.
- davidsV3286WW (8/5): Nice overnight stop - Nice comfortable room, slept well and found the room clean and tidy.
The food deal.worked well and the evening meal was very nice indeed.
Breakfast was a good with a nice selection of foods to choose from. Did feel they could do with one more staff member as the drink and food wasn't refilled that quickly but overall it was fine
Would recommend and will use again
- joseaG3942LJ (10/5): Wonderful stay - Cosy and cleaned room, polite receptionist and nice breakfast.
Quiet place close to city centre, we had also a nice meal in the beefeater restaurant
- pauldG1995IP (8/5): Two nights - The usual Premier Inn comfort and quiet hotel . No noise at all in the night despite being central to the town. Staff polite and efficient .We we're due to have breakfast but had to cancel due to council parking closing because of Bonfire night . Would visit again.
- garytK5745BY (2/5): Worst Premier Inn We have Visited. - Never had a problem with Premier Inn and always look forward to their breakfast. We've just stayed at Lincoln Canwick. If there is a worse Premier Inn, I hope I never visit it. Grotty room; breakfast, when you were lucky enough to get anything, was appalling; just about everything ran out, be it bread, juice, or butter, and the wait for replenishment was interminable. The cooked breakfast, when available, was undercooked as the staff struggled to keep up. In fact, there was not enough staff for the number of guests. We wanted to complain at reception, but no one was there. Never again.
- sarahgO5110IS (6/5): Good location but not the best overall - Stayed at lots of Premier Inns previously. Room and hotel as expected. Friendly staff. Temp controls in the room were not working.
Breakfast booked in advance and unfortunately was the worst experience we have had in many years of using Premier inn. Only 2 staff working so was impossible for them to keep everything replenished. Had to wait 25mins to be seated and then waited for everything....clean cups, plates, hot food, juice and milk. They had no jam or croissants. Very poor.
- Knightofthesky (6/5): Helpful staff, your experience may vary depending on which room you get. - Firstly I couldn't fault the staff - very helpful and friendly. Car parking can get short on busy days so arriving early is a must.
The hotel has been extended multiple times from its original construction we stayed in room 11 for our first stay (original building) and room 28 for our second (c. 2007/8 extension)
Our first stay was fine, no complaints, but our second really pushes home the need for Whitbread to update & refurbish this tired part of the building. It's very dated, with just one plug by the bed (city centre Prem. Inn has a plug with USB ports either side of the bed) the metal bath in the bathroom is showing signs of rust, the bath sealant is curling back and the general lighting in the room could be improved but one big positive that made us come back to Canwick over the City Centre Prem. Inn was the fact you can open the windows (albeit just a little bit) rather than just relying on air conditioning alone.
The food is ok but expensive, avoid upgrades. The drinks are unlimited refills but you need to request the refill - you're best off going to the bar directly rather than wait for table service
- jamesbE2329OC (10/5): Good stay - Great room, good food, helpful staff.
Nadine, serving at the restaurant/bar what an absolute diamond, a credit to your staff. Excellent service, warm and smiley, you're lucky to have her!
- MidLifeButNoCrisis (2/5): The most worn- out and damp Premier Inn I have stayed at - Lincoln Canwick hotel. Room 30
Worn out room, lots of loose bits and pieces.
Toilet did not flush properly
Freezing cold ... and filthy fan heater so did not dare use (too many diseases in there).
Bed initially felt as cold as though no-one had used it for months.
After a while in bed it began to feel damp as well
Got home next day - wife immediately smelled the robe - "this stinks of damp"
This is not a matter of a "cold night" - it is clearly a serious error that appears to have been tried to cover up with a pungent smell of mens' deodorant prior to my arrival.
YUK!
- hubzk (8/5): Better inside than out - Better inside than out.
Friendly staff, clean comfy room. A few pubs in local vicinity and a retail park. Difficult access to public transport and other local landmarks.
- Janeth_paineth (4/5): Premier plus? Minus room? - Arrived what seemed ok on entey to room
Then said fan in bedroom and ventilation unit whhhrrring all thw time. Have the video went and asked to.move nothing.
Stsff member gave me managers email to.complain. and customer service dis both.
Manager never bothered to reply!
Staff said oh you.want.your room.cleaned? What has happened to premier inn.
No.opening windows room.was like a sauna even with ventilation unit in bedroom!!
Poor customer not even service!!
- janiced329 (10/5): Over night stay. - Enjoyable stay. Lovely staff very friendly & helpful. Good wet room & spacious room, easy access. Very warm clean & comfortable. Food very good plenty of choice. Easy check in.
- kriswC4665TB (10/5): Great service! Courtnay and Agata Excellent! - I have now stayed a number of times for business and the team are great! Courtnay and Agata really stand out and go the extra mile to make you feel welcome, thank you
- angeladN3491KV (10/5): Excellent location - Excellent location with free parking. Comfortable bed and loved the extra pillows. We used the on-site Beefeater for limitless breakfast, highly recommend.
- G2058JZcolinm (10/5): Great place for breakfast - Four of us had breakfast at Premier Restaurant and it was lovely. Service was perfect many thanks to Cris the Manager. Also thanks to Simon who is always so friendly and helpful, also Ali and Sue who always are attentive. Will definitely go back again as you can’t beat their friendship and also prices.
- jasonwG6325YG (8/5): basic - The room i had was good, but the hotel is very run down & needs a refurbishment. The staff were great & think the guy during the night was Jason. He was friendly and helped me with a slight problem/issue.
A good location, just outside the city. Fine for a short stay in general.
- MazzaGTi (10/5): Exceptional!!!! - My husband and I have stayed in many Premier Inns around the country but found this one to be the exception to the usual. The staff were extremely efficient very friendly and helpful. Our orders in the Thyme restaurant for breakfast were taking at our table and so freshly cooked and delicious. We were served by Chris who asked if we had plans for the day. We said we planned to explore as it was our first visit to Lewes and it was our 57th wedding anniversary. To our surprise and delight we returned to our room after a lovely day to find a bottle of Prosecco, chocolates, two glasses and a card!!! Thank you Chris and Premier for this very unexpected but amazing and special gesture. It was a wonderful addition to our very enjoyable weekend in Lewes.
- wizandfitz (10/5): Good location for Lewes town - Good location
Clean and comfortable with friendly staff. No dedicated parking. 2 hours max pay and display next to hotel, free after 5pm
- Go28330814413 (10/5): Two night stay at Lewes Town Centre Premier Inn. - A great team work at this Premier Inn. Arriving at 7 pm the reception was excellent. The person on duty gave us all the information about parking times and charges (the hotel doesn't have its own carpark), and the catering on offer until 10.30 pm.
Breakfast was more than adequate, with cooked or continental breakfast available until 10.30 am.
All the team were welcoming and keen to be of service.
I highly recommend the Premier Inn in Lewes Town Centre.
- curtishd74 (10/5): Good value and food - Served by Emma. Very friendly and polite. The Burger was very tasty. Very good value, 3 course meal deal. Service was quick.
- Q5325UJjanp (10/5): Brilliant - Bogdan is an absolute diamond who pulled our all the stops to help us find our running shoes we left behind - cannot praise him and the team enough
- H2571QGkristinas (6/5): Kettle in the room be thoroughly cleaned of any chemical residues from recent maintenance. - To Room Service / Hotel Management:
It is essential that the kettle in the room be thoroughly cleaned of any chemical residues from recent maintenance. After boiling water and preparing coffee, the resulting taste is unpleasant and acidic, rendering the beverage undrinkable. I kindly request that this matter be addressed as a priority to ensure the appliance is safe and suitable for use. I feel nauseous all evening after this.
- 196grahamn (8/5): All good! - Staying up at Braunstone for a three month job. Rooms were always clean , staff were always very friendly and always eager to please customers. Ate in the premier inn restaurant most evenings and again the staff were always doing their best to make sure we were happy. Have to mention manager Emma and also Nadine and Jas as they couldn't do enough for us during our time there, always greeted with a smile even when they were run off their feet. Also top floor mopping by Jas!!
Best one we've stayed at
- N5017QPcarolw (10/5): Comfortable room and very central - I stayed at the Premier Inn, Lewes town centre for one night in Sept 2025. It was very convenient for access to cafes and antique shops in the centre. The car park next door is not part of the Premier Inn but as I arrived on a Sunday parking is free until 9am on Monday. Very comfortable room. I did not have any meals there as I was going to a party and had planned to go out for breakfast. There was a power cut around 11:30 pm but power was restored in around 20 mins. Staff at reception were helpful with my WiFi connection. The price with add ons for early check in, faster WiFi and charity donation was not cheap but I would go back
- Earlybird37 (8/5): Eat elsewhere - Hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly.
Recommend using the Bomber Command cafe for breakfast rather than the Beefeater. We ate in both and the food was better and the surroundings much more pleasant at the Centre, which is only 5 minutes walk away and opens at 9.30.
- keentrek (8/5): Good location. Friendly helpful staff - You get what you expect albeit, at an average £150 per night for a twin room, at a price. One duvet had large stains on it visible through the duvet cover but this was quickly sorted with apologies. All you can eat cooked breakfast was £10.99 per head in addition and selection was good. Well located just off the ring road and just on the edge of the city on a main route in. Room was clean and comfortable and beds comfy. The basic free WiFi was painfully slow but the better service internet came at a price which I wasn’t prepared to pay. In this day and age charging for WiFi is poor.
- G3373PBlisaa (10/5): Exceptional Service - Fein provided exceptional service. He was kind and very helpful and went above and beyond in assisting me. I was on my own with a hip injury, which makes it painful to walk. He didn’t make mention of it and helped me carry dinner items to my room.
- arthurtc2024 (10/5): good staff - Having just returned from premier inn lincoln in canwick hill I realized I forgot my electric toothbrush.I called them and received it back in just a few days. clean and great service premier inn thank you guys
- Delamain68 (4/5): Not Good for Business Clients!!! - Do not stay here if for Business, The WI-FI is slow and even upgraded to the (so Called) ultimate WI-FI for a charge of an extra £5 per day!!!
Think Premier inn on the whole has to think about advertising for Business customers, you can go to much cheaper (better) places, AirA&B, local Public Houses and other Hotels just outside of Lewes where the WI-FI is secure and better, also cheaper.
I stayed for 3 nights at a cost off over £450, Beds Comfy, quietness good, Did not try the food (breakfast is not included in the price), More people were getting Take way's then eating in, Parking is at a extra price!!
Should the reception now ask the customer, if they would like the room cleaned each day, rather than the customer asking for it to be cleaned?
Not good overall, Premier Inn needs to put the Premier part back into the hotel rather than just the name!!!
- 2509Jill (8/5): Conveniently located, comfortable hotel - This hotel is in the town and very convenient for the train station and for buses, so the journey by public transport to Brighton couldn't be easier. The hotel is located by a public car park which has EV chargers just at the bottom of the steps to the hotel, but be warned that there is a market on some Saturdays, so parking is restricted at these times. There is, however, an NCP carpark less than 2 minutes walk from the hotel and at £5.50 per day is reasonably priced. Hotel staff are happy to advise about parking. The room was quiet and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Kettle etc in the room and tea bags, coffee and milk are downstairs in the reception.
- SFH19 (8/5): One night at Premier Braunstone Meridian - Very pleasant stay, extremely comfortable bed, basic bathroom, nice checkout time. Perfect but adequate stay
WiFi not great, plenty of hot water, didn't like the "sheets" if toilet paper 😑
- nicktM955LU (6/5): Poor service ...........not Premier service - We booked the Lewes Town Centre hotel as we were attending a wedding locally at Pelham House, a great venue, a very special occasion, the wedding of 2 very close friends and colleagues.
We arrived (an overall party of 6) and after checking more than once before travelling we were promised a) that we could use a room to change in as it was not possible to check in early unless we paid £15 per room and b) that we could leave our overnight bags in a secure location at the hotel whilst we were at wedding.
On arrival there was no welcoming good morning greeting from the 3 staff chatting in the restaurant area (frankly, it seemed as if we were inconveniencing them by disturbing their chat) and we were told that no room was available to change in but "we could use the toilets".
After we had changed, the 3 staff were nowhere to be found, we tried but could not locate a staff member to arrange the storage of our overnight bags. We tried the buzzer on the reception desk several times, walked to the ground floor and checked the restaurant area – no one to be seen? As a result, and because there were no spaces to park overnight in the adjacent NCP, we had to drive and park Lewes Train station and bring our bags back with us after the wedding - a 10-minute walk not ideal with 2 heavy bags. Given that the staff were aware that we wanted to leave our bags I cannot comprehend why they would all disappear and not be available to assist?
The room itself was ok but with not option to open a window, even slightly, it was very stuffy. The shower was good, but the TV was just a fuzzy picture on every single channel (photo below) the WIFI signal was weak and erratic and there were very basic quantities of 2 tea bags and 2 coffee sachets with limited choice. No fruit or herbal teas, no decaf options…………very basic.
Overall, we were very dissatisfied with our experience, sadly the staff did nothing to enhance the reputation of the hotel, and we will not be rushing to return anytime soon
- CValenti-Burr (6/5): One night stay - Stayed for one night while in Lincoln. This was one of the older premier inn’s and is in need of an update to stay in line with other hotels in the group. However, the staff are friendly and helped with a couple of questions. But as always you can count on a comfy bed for a good nights sleep and a good breakfast.
- GoPlaces43419538200 (10/5): Another good stay - Nice hotel and well located in centre of town with lots of food options nearby. Short walk to the train station at Lewes. Hotel very quiet but that suits us perfectly now.
- ccook5728 (10/5): Very good break - Have just returned from this hotel, we enjoyed our stay of 2 nights booked the meal meal and enjoyed the meals at the adjoining Beefeater. All staff were very friendly Natalia was very friendly in the reception.
- vanessafM8134CY (8/5): Great value for money - We stayed here as we were attending a wedding nearby so just needed somewhere clean to sleep and have breakfast. Premier Inn delivered on that basis- it was also helpful to have the early check in at 11am, the bed was super comfy and the breakfast was very good with a range of options. Downsides were the parking. The parking behind the hotel is max 2hrs so we had to park at the station carpark for 24hours (which runs out at 4am the following day) and then remember to top it up for another 24 hours. I would say the station is a 10 min walk. The other minor downside is that they forgot to put another bath towel in the room- even though we had booked for 2 people...I managed to find a cleaner in the corridor to sort it out, however.
Overall great value for money and great location!
- Tour25952857777 (8/5): Appealing consistency! - Another stay here as we have family near by. The consistency of the hotel is very appealing as your guaranteed comfortable beds and it's all very clean. I would say however that the price point is very punchy (even on a Saturday night) - over £200.00 for the night including breakfast which is the only reason I rate the stay a 4 out of 5. The hotel was very quiet so perhaps that's why! The service as always is very good though. When we arrived Oliver at reception was very helpful and told us about the meal deal offer and combined with a "kids eat free" add on promotion, it made a three course meal with drinks excellent value so at least that made up for it. The restaurant was very quiet (we were the only people in there for a good while) and the kitchen service was slow. Thankfully, we weren't in a rush but if we'd be hungry we might have had a different outcome! A shout out to Miles who served us very pleasantly and helped us with the bill at the end. The kids always love the buffet breakfast and no doubt we'll be back - hopefully at a more sensible price point!
- I5205ZSdebrah (4/5): No frills - Room was ok just noisy doors slamming all night as the room was next to reception bed was smaller then normal bath tiny just a basic room not worth £102 no breakfast included no frills car park was free
Wouldn't rush back
- wavesurfer999 (8/5): Restaurant hiccup - I booked for two nights including the meal deal. The first night the evening meal in the restaurant was handled brilliantly by Nadeen who was cheerful, friendly and helpful. The menu choice and food were excellent. The second night there was appaently only one chef on duty and everyone was seated in the bar area rather than the restaurant. Only one young man, serving drinks and food, was rushed off his feet.I arrived at 7:00 expecting someone to come and take my order. When food arrived for the next table at 7:40 I asked them how they had ordered and they told me food was ordered at the bar - wish this had been made clear!. Ordered food and it took until 8:50 for it to arrive and, when it did, both courses arrived at the same time.
I had ordered steak which was beautifully cooked, but no tomato, mushroom or peppercorn sauce, but by then I was just glad to have something to eat.
I am sure this is an isolated incident, but in such cases why not put a notice up at the entrance advising people to order at the bar.
This was my only criticism. The breakfasts were excellent and the room was clean and pleasant. Free Wifi was painfully slow - 1 mb/s. Agatha on reception was very patient in arranging that I received my agreed price as my booking had initially been for Fosse Park which closed down forcing me to rebbok.
All in all I can definitely recomment this hotel, but disappointed that management had not sorted out the restaurant staffing issues.
- jamesbH7615YV (10/5): Amazing Hotel - What a lovely hotel rooms was cleaned and well maintained was down here on business with work for nearly 2 weeks
Food was amazing and the girl in restaurant Zoe was amazing always looked after you she was so friendly and very good at her job.
If I am down here again on business I would definitely stay here again
- sitas634 (2/5): Complaint for untidy bathroom - Cleanliness not happy
Didn't speak to anyone
Bathroom was untidy
Hair in the bathroom and taps where not clean , upset but only stayed one night was going book another night changed mind, no extra bedding or towels .
- Stujw76 (10/5): Another "Bee"rilliant stay with a buzz in the room! - This is our go to Premier Inn in Leicester when travelling between Portsmouth and Yorkshire, as the other local ones we have tried don't compare.
As always, a great welcome, excellent value for money and spotless.
The attention to detail from Sharon and the HSK team in our room was up to its usual high standard.
We don't tend to use the restaurant as we prefer the branded restaurants - not that there is anything wrong with the one here, we just prefer Beefeaters if given a choice, so eat on route before arrival.
The breakfast quality and service in the restaurant on Sunday (17th) was brilliant.
Emma the manager and her team work really hard and it shows.
Well done and thank you for making our stay so great.
Already planning our next stay!
- nicolaeh375 (10/5): Pleasant journey - Nice accommodation and the food selection is very diverse, covering all the clients expectations. I strongly recommend!
- TC_Dreckly (10/5): Brilliant Staff - My sister and I had a lovely stay at this hotel but it was the quality of the staff that made it special. Andre, Brai and Sharon on reception were exceptionally kind and helpful as were Nadeen, Jasleen and Zoe in the restaurant. A huge thank you to them all.
- V9335IPmatthewt (10/5): Amazing stay and service - The staff were really helpful and Agata amazed me with great service Water and a fan for my room, the best Premier inn I've visited and outstanding service
- kathy_murdoch (4/5): Disappointing! - Having used this hotel on a regular basis, I am quite used to it not being one of the better Premier Inns - it certainly could be doing with an upgrade and doesn't compete with a Premier Plus. However, this proved to be one of the worst stays I have had. The weather was very hot and the room temperature was unbearable. Despite providing us with a fan, it wasn't strong enough to make any different.
The water pressure in the over-bath shower was intermittent which made the temperature run between hot and cold. There was also water in the body wash holder (not shower gel).
Not our best stay!
- susansK2979QD (10/5): Zoe at the Observatory Restaurant at breakfast on 2nd August deserves a DOUBLE BONUS for her exceptional efficiency. - My husband and I stayed at the Leicester Braunston Premier Inn on the nights of the 1st and 2nd August. On the 2nd August we went for breakfast at the Observatory Restaurant. We arrived at the desk and Zoe greeted us with a smile.. It immediately became apparent that she was in charge of an extremely busy restaurant, She was meeting everyone, cleaning the tables, looking after the food, in fact was running the whole restaurant with NO help, with a smile. Her efficiency was quite exceptional.
