Guest Reviews
- Thea (10/5): - Alles was prima in orde. Alleen de airco in het restaurant gedeelte stond hoog en iets te koud.
- Eise (10/5): - Mooie kamer
Vriendelijk personeel
- David (10/5): - Very good location and amenities
- C4349HWwilliamm (10/5): Aviemore Premier Inn, Highly Recommended - Aviemore Premier Inn is an excellent location as a base for exploring the Cairngorm area. The hotel itself is fairly new and everything is very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our food in the Thyme restaurant and the meal deals are exceptionally good value for money. The service was excellent and, in particular, Lorraine was very attentive and a pleasure to engage with.
- Lani (10/5): - Stag was helpful and friendly. Great to have kids eat free for breakfast—and very yummy.
- B3654GJjonathand (10/5): Nice hotel, great staff - Fantastic staff, great breakfast, easy parking, nice and quiet hotel. Only problem is that the Brewers Fayre is closed and we would have had a meal on the first night of our stay. Had to rely on a takeaway being delivered which took ages and wasn’t great. Other than that, can’t fault this premier inn at all. The staff are exceptionally helpful, particularly the breakfast staff.
- MarkDann44 (4/5): Lenny never had this issue. - The staff were very friendly but the shower tray waste pipe was blocked so I had to clean it out myself. Unfortunately it did not look like it had been cleaned or checked for months. After cleaning this out I fancied a strong coffee. Guess what ?? They forget to leave the complementary tray. Lennie Henry never had this problem lol
- 793katht (10/5): Great hotel - A great hotel, lovely and clean. Staff very friendly, good service and pricing for the location. This hotel has recently introduced a fuller menu in line with other Premier hotels. The Thyme restaurant has an extensive menu, however, I believe, that due to a lack of storage for stock, not all options were available.
- Greeps10 (10/5): Grt place to stay . - Location brilliant . Walking 5mins your in town . Restaurants everywhere so plenty of choice. Very friendly atmosphere . Brilliant staff Emma.Sarah.Callum.
- Mickeypete71 (2/5): No Evening Meal option - Hotel was clean and room was clean with everything working apart from TV not exactly user friendly.
When booking it did say that Brewers Fayre was closed since 15th October and had no option for hot meal. After a 05.00 start and 467 miles all I wanted was a hot shower and a hot meal. What I was offered was a walk over to the garage and grab a sandwich.
- evelyngE1520WH (10/5): Amazing friendly stay - Location is amazing, view of lake from attached restaurant and room. Atmosphere was so friendly in both hotel and restaurant, they could not do enough for you. Rooms are good sized and laid out really well, with en suite bathrooms which are really clean. Value is fantastic and really worth the price. Meal deals in restaurant are worth it when you see what you get for your money. Noise levels are good, we didn't hear much inside our room from inside or outside hotel. The staff are amazing, very friendly and helpful with good knowledge of area. Very big car park outside with loads of room.
- Tourist05017874043 (10/5): Ticked all the boxes - Nice welcome at Reception. Very pleasant room - great bath, lots of hot water (essential after a cold hillwalk!)
Very tasty meal in the restaurant, highly recommend the burger with brie and hot cranberry sauce. Excellent service by Lorraine. Will definitely come back.
- scotthQ3915JS (10/5): First class service - Group of 30 visited today 19 adults and 11 children ,we were given a back room all to ourselves which was ideal and also carvery was enjoyed by everyone ,excellent value and piping hot, manager brought sweets in for the kids which was a good touch, also it was a good place to visit with the lake outside and loads for the kids inside ,already thinking of going back as a group again ,thanks for the hospitality.
- xcmkx (8/5): Great - Stayed for one night at a good rate. Checkin nice and easy. Guy on reception was really friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and very clean. Heating worked well. Only negative was that the shower leaked so flooded the bathroom - oops!
Dinner was lovely! Special mention for Lorraine who served us - so lovely, chatty and friendly!
Good choice for breakfast! Will stay again.
- 312cristianam (10/5): Thank you again Kallum, perfect atmosphere!!! - My dad and I had a lovely time, and we stayed at the Premier Inn Aviemore for a few hours. The atmosphere was amazing, it felt just like home. Kallum welcomed us warmly and really helped us out when we had a small issue with our car, making us feel comfortable and well looked after throughout the situation. Thanks to this experience, I will definitely reconsider choosing the Aviemore Premier Inn for future holidays. Thank you again, Kallum, for all your help.
- ShellLargs (10/5): Lovely stay - Lovely clean & friendly hotel.
I've stayed in a few premier inns, some great, some poor, this was overall nice, clean & welcoming.
- lyndag629 (2/5): AVOID EV CHARGERS. UNRELIABLE AND BIZARRE SET UP - Use EV chargers here recently, what a nonsense. Had to call GeniePoint to start the process, then at the end had to call again to release. Others having same issue. Cost much more than other nearby chargers, then to top it off, received a parking notice for £57 in post today - to park in a free car park! Bloody ridiculous. Had the charging process been straightforward I might have noticed the need to use the QR code, but what an utterly bizarre set up. I notice that the nearby resort are installing more chargers, so no need to use this lot again!
- 715joanneg (10/5): Sleep heaven mattresses perfect - Lovely stay beds the best quality mattresses make all the difference room Lovely... only thing missing was mini fridge which is a must for us
- dalglish07 (10/5): Perfect for exploring - We stayed for 4 nights in November.
Check out in was easy and staff were friendly.
We requested a ground floor room not too far from the reception area.
Our allocated room was at the back of the hotel adjacent to the A road, whilst we could hear the traffic noise it did not disturb our sleep.
Room was fine and up to the usual Premier inn standard.
For security reasons the window would only open 2 inches and as the air conditioning was restricted not to go below 19 degrees ,the room could get a bit stuffy.
It wasn’t a big issue but could be during the warmer weather.
The location of the hotel is ideal for exploring along the coast and inland.
Morpeth was our favourite place that we visited.
Amble,New biggin on the sea, Alnwick ,Walkworth and Alnmouth are also worth a visit.
- R1743QTdavidw (8/5): No mixed grill : why ,??? - Everything was fab . Except the mixed grill meal.was tippexed off the menu . I'm a pure carnivore.eater so this was a great disappointment to.me . Please.domt.delete items.from the standard menu cheers .
- Red9uk (10/5): Excellent stay - A lovely stay. Easy to find, great rooms and service. Easy parking outside and a fast EV on site too. Fox and drink was fine and the staff were all great. No complaints at all.
- dlhammys (4/5): Very disappointing with the rooms - Rooms could be cleaner
Asked for the room to be cleaned never done 4 days stay and could not get the room cleaned or even hoovered
Clean towels just put on bed if that’s getting the room cleaned that’s a new one on me
toilet seat broken not safe to sit on you had to hold on to the sink to feel stable staff tried to fix it but they said it needed replaced so just live with it for the next 3 days
The lady on the reception could not do enough for you she seemed to do everything from booking you in to trying the maintenance on the toilet seat to replacing your towels well done to her nice smile with lovely white glasses thanks
- lhJ3917UY (10/5): Lovely hotel - I recommend this hotel if you are arriving late into Prestwick airport. It's clean, fresh and the breakfast is very good.
- K7734NEjonathanr (10/5): Exceptional Service and Warm Hospitality! - The team at this hotel are truly amazing! From the moment I arrived, they were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to go above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. Amanda was so friendly and her attention to detail and genuine care really stood out — it’s clear that all staff take great pride in what they do. I can’t recommend this hotel enough for anyone looking for outstanding service and a memorable experience.
- neilsL6707AS (10/5): Business trip - Great stay for my business trip to the north east. Reception staff friendly and helpful on arrival. Rooms clean and fresh and for a change the shower heads were pristine definitely recommend if you need to stay in the north east.
- BRRM (8/5): Employ more food service staff - Overall I was happy with my stay
Despite only being 30 minutes early for check in I was asked to pay £15 for early check in
The bedroom was clean and comfortable a little tired if I'm honest
The meal deal was reasonably priced the food was decent if not outstanding
Food service staff were run off their feet and as a result tables remained dirty.
The staff were extremely helpful and polite
Please Premier inn
Employ more staff or you will lose the decent staff you have in place
I really felt sorry for them
- susanshiers29 (10/5): Best premier inn have stayed in - Excellent hotel. Staff are so polite and helpful. Special mention to Lorraine. Nothing too much trouble. The meal deal we had was unbelievable value and choice of menu evening and breakfast buffet also. So much fresh local choices
- 358staceyw (6/5): No air con - Chose this hotel as the website says it has air con. Unfortunately I didn’t notice the rooms do not have air con and are very stuffy and warm. My error but they shouldn’t show air con on the website.
- robmT7635JW (4/5): Filthy - If you look at these pictures it may make you think twice before staying
I’d question the functionality of the cleaner and domestic supervisor. How could this filthy soap dispenser be allowed to accumulate filth?
- 903philippav (6/5): Hospital near by was useful as this was the reason for stay - Bed not so comfy felt springs !breakfast no plant based milk in coffee machine had to get expresso and put milk from cereal area
No Gluten free options except toast
- 2121k (10/5): Excellent hotel. Brilliant Staff - Room was excellent, clean and comfortable.
Stayed for 2 nights. Janice and all of her staff were ever so friendly, polite courteous and professional. Thank you Janice.
- D2683BKjc (10/5): Hidden Gem - Fantastic hotel, rooms clean and comfortable. I was worried about the restaurant next door but we had been informed it was closed and no longer part of the premier inn. Our breakfast was top notch, the decor the attention detail was fantastic. But the golden gem is the staff, so helpful and always with a smile their faces. The girl who served us breakfast at the weekend was a credit to the company, she looked happy to be at work and greeted us with a big smile and asked how we were. Will 100% be back.
- Ss770640 (10/5): Modern and comfy with good food - Good points:
- clean, very quiet area, comfy bed, well presented, good food at the restaurant, friendly staff, easy parking, high power and low power ev charging stations, close to other restaurants, friendly staff, air con in room, dark location, quiet road
Bad points:
-£180 night for mid oct seems high, nearby restaurant’s only open Thurs-sun, no sink plugs, no fridge in room, tv channels fairly limited. Fairly minor stuff to be honest.
Happy to return.
- D3747NZsvetlanab (10/5): Comfortable Stay and Friendly Atmosphere - I had a lovely stay! The room was simple but had everything I needed, and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was nice and filling. The windows couldn’t be opened, but the climate control kept the room comfortable. I’d happily stay here again.
- Guide66892256811 (10/5): Relaxing stay with a great outlook. - This Premier Inn has all of the attributes of a decent class hotel while still remaining folksy.
Situated in the Queen Elizabeth park with its lake and wildlife literally front and centre.
Access to the hotel is across a wide area of rough ground which can be a test of your vehicles suspension if you stray from the narrow strip of tarmac.
- nuttytart55 (6/5): Nice - Nice hotel and location, shame about nearly being charged an extra £21.98, on top of the bill and 2 breakfast for myself, the receptionist was adamant that I needed to pay for an outstanding deposit I told her I paid in full showing the receipt, she wasn't having it so I had to go outside as the signal was shocking inside, to look for more information in my emails - I found a receipt she just put in saying she was charging me for 4x breakfasts when I only asked for 2 breakfast for the two days I was staying there when i checked in, When I shown her this she took it off but no apology from her.
- nataliewH1240SL (10/5): Great hotel - Great breakfast lovely reception area. All done up. Had a great stay with my family. Will definitely be back. Staff were great!
- natashapG3477ET (2/5): Shocking Customer Service - I’ve been trying to contact this hotel to check a booking with them and have called over ten times — no one ever picks up the phone. It’s incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. If this is how they handle simple enquiries, I dread to think what the service is like in person. Very disappointing experience so far.
- 168gayleb (10/5): Weekend away - Went for a few nights, place is very good for location only a short walk into town and drive to cairngorm. Staff friendly and helpful and place very clean.
- joannebL2052YN (10/5): Very welcoming, fantastic staff. Recommend to all. - Very friendly and welcoming, we arrived late on the evening callum and kirt on reception went above a beyond to help us get booked in, breakfast was great again Very welcoming was made to feel at home and very comfortable with a variety of a hot and cold menu. The chef was happy to accommodate for any requests and the floor manager was very polite and had a fantastic rapport with all the guests, would recommend for all, families included, the room was clean and comfortable with towles provided tea and coffee in the room,
- ALANMURF (10/5): Close to Airport - Easy to find, very close to airport, friendly and helpful staff. Meals were good and good service. Both Hotel and restaurant good value
- Unsavvytraveller1234 (6/5): needs improvement - I had booked (and paid) for evening meal but when we arrived we were told it was only the carvery. They later rescinded and said we could have anything.
The breakfast was well cooked - and well rested. It was mostly cold.
One of our rooms was cold and my friend went to the receptionist who went to her room with her and changed the batteries in the heating programmer but failed to switch it on. She couldn't either so went to bed early in the cold.
- ToastersToast (2/5): Mouldy - Avoid! Bathroom was extremely mouldy, I checked out early and obtained a refund. I have also reported to environmental health. Whilst the staff are nice and advised that the contractors would be working on the hotel, I think they should shut it and get the work done faster, as I read previous reviews advising of the same. This is really disappointing compared to the general standard of premier inn.
- Mickterry (8/5): No internet - We had a worm welcome but when i went back to say there was no internet in our room the man on reception its always dropping out so no internet at all
- Howellsey (8/5): Premier Inn but a wee bit better - Whilst it's a bit in the middle of nowhere it is a large, purpose built, very clean and comfortable inn. Staff were friendly, loads of parking and a huge pub next door. Premier Inn standard but with a particularly large room and I had a good night's sleep
- T2768WArichardb (10/5): Better than a lot of expensive hotels - The Ashington Premier Inn is, in my experience, one of the best of the Premier Inn chain in a good location, with a generally very good accessible room and attached restaurant.
- Road53703982697 (10/5): Beautiful Lakeview Stay - Stayed here as I was working the Great North Run. Far enough away to not have a ridiculous price, but close enough to get where I needed in plenty of time. Great location, loads of parking. View of the lake is lovely, definitely go for a lake view if they're available.
- mike765432 (2/5): Very disgusting and disappointed - The Cleanliness of the restaurant area was disgusting, especially the gents toilets closest to reception.
No lock on cubical door
Toilet paper holder hanging off wall
Spiders making a home in the corners at floor level
Blood wiped up wall tiles
It is obvious it had not been cleaned in weeks
In addition, the timber work in the corridor leading to the restaurant had a layer of dust on all horizontal surfaces that I could write in with my finger.
On my first night I noticed a chip on the floor under a table in the restaurant, it was still there the following day.
- tinatM1491PA (10/5): A great stay and lovely team - Great as usual. The hotel was lovely and clean. Bed was really comfortable. We had breakfast which was fine and we never seen in the evening as we were at a wedding.
- Stashimoto1 (4/5): Not the best experience - Positive:- Great location and check-in was good.
Negative:- The hotel and restaurant/bar are a bit run down and scruffy. The restaurant/bar staff are useless at their job, no desire to provide a decent service, instead just strolling around collecting tomato sauce etc from tables when there was a queue at the bar waiting to be served. When I said I wanted to pay for my drinks with cash the girl behind the bar didn't know what to do and had to call for help!! My daughter rang in the morning to book a table for 6 adults and 4 children at 5pm, she was told that was not possible as the restaurant was full, when we got there at 5:15pm there was only 4 people there, in fact there was only about a dozen other people in the place all night. Finally we were told that the bar was closing at 8pm due to staff shortage. Not a great experience but if you employ a staff supervisor that actually has a brain things might improve.
- JenIgma29 (4/5): Your staff need to talk to each other. - We called ahead of our arrival to say we would be checking in late, but would be in time for dinner, which we were assured we would get. After a long journey to get there, we arrived 30 minutes before the kitchen closed. The person at reception assured us again we had time. When we went through to the bar to order our meal, we were told the kitchen was not accepting any food orders. There were 2 table who’d ordered and were waiting for their food, so the kitchen was still cooking. The young gentleman who was behind the bar, was rude, and it really soured our impression, considering we didn’t arrive until 8.30pm and would be leaving the hotel at 3am for our flight. We did manage to order food via just eat and got it delivered. The room was fine, bathroom was clean enough. If we are flying from prestwick again, I’ll not be coming here.
- 935LynneM (8/5): Great 1 night - Easy to find, someone at reception even though we came off a flight and arrived at 11pm at night.
Rooms too warm, standard double.
- carolmX1919XT (10/5): Weekend away. - Stayed here for our anniversary weekend to visit family. Beautiful location in the Queen Elizabeth II country park.staff where helpful and friendly, room and bathroom where clean. Amble and Alnwick castle and gardens a short drive away overall a lovely weekend
- sammy1987 (10/5): Very clean & good location for airport - Great location for the airport.
Rooms was spotlessly clean
Beds very comfortable
My only complaint is the food and service in the restaurant was terrible
I would definitely stay here again but wouldn’t use the restaurant.
£3 per night for car park.
- B710MCmarkr (10/5): Premier Inn Standards, 5 Star Location - Room wise 100% what you expect from Premier Inns. Everything else.... 10x better! Staff all warm and very friendly (it's the North East, it's how it is!) Food was cracking (Katsu loaded fries, changed my life!) And the location is the greatest! Right by the lake, plenty of wildlife and friendly birds to feed and footpaths to lead you about and walk off your tea. Worth the diversion off the A1 if you are passing thru, and spot on as a base for getting into Newcastle or any of the coastal spots.
- angelapO2663TZ (8/5): Premier Inn good, but do not step foot next door. - The accommodation and staff were good, but the service in the pub next door for dinner and breakfast was the worst I have ever have experienced. Disgusting behaviour and service. 0 score.
- blaneyfamily2 (4/5): Less 'pride' and more hospitality please! - We stayed as a family and needed two rooms, but they were far apart which was very inconvenient and meant re-packing for the two in the farther room.
There was also offensive 'pride' related propaganda around the hotel, including on the front door! We were staying with young children and didn't expect to have immoral political advertising to be so in our faces.
When we entered the hotel there was no-one on the desk. We pressed a bell to call attention but when the women eventually slouched out of hiding she was extremely rude. She clearly had no interest to be there or to help in any way.
Finally, we were gobsmacked to have to be pay for car parking! This was not a city hotel, so we really did not expect surprise additional costs when we arrived, especially as we were travelling with two cars!
- Barbara_Marshall12 (4/5): Not going to a Premiere Inn again unless I can open the window - The external appearance is confusing - the hotel is set in a parkland, but the approach looks like you’re coming into an industrial area. Plenty of parking and we were given a friendly welcome by the receptionist. The room was clean and as comfortable as you would expect. However, I don’t understand why Premier Inn don’t allow people to open the windows in their rooms. I like to sleep with the window open and breathing in air conditioned air is not healthy. I didn’t sleep well and woke up with extremely dry eyes, nose and throat.
Breakfast was uninspiring and felt like a ‘free for all’ - people pushing their way through to the food like animals. The cooked food was tepid and unappetising. The continental provision needs to be updated - eg. fat-free yoghurts are not healthy - please provide some good quality Greek yoghurt (not fat free) and update the cereal selection- eg add a good quality granola.
- D8152GMpaulh (10/5): Perfect location - Comfortable bed perfect shower and amazing location for walks. Away from the hustle of a town centre was great also. The staff went above and beyond also.
- nataliewH1240SL (10/5): Prestwick - Although there is works on in reception the rooms are really clean. The WiFi has been updated as well so great for the kids. The staff are helpful and friendly. Plenty of spaces to park in and there is a brewers fayre next door with a kids play area.
- gordonb666 (4/5): Only use if needed, try find another hotel - One of the worst PI I have stayed at, welcome at reception was grim, the heating system in the room kept 'clicking' all night, the fan provided did not work, smell of plaster as walls in the hall were being worked on...
- Sharr1964 (10/5): Great service, great credit to premier inn - Lovely warm welcome when entering the building.
Nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfast was wonderful as usual.
I must say 10 out of 10 that they don’t charge for hot chocolate with the meal like so many do, which peeves me as it’s no more expensive than the tea & coffee.
The whole experience was lovely and definitely worth returning
Great value for money, and they cater quite well for gluten free breakfast
- Tina2go (8/5): Enjoyable stay - Stayed here at Easter for a couple of nights to explore the area and because it was minimal pricing. For what we paid it was an excellent room. We chose a family room which has recently been refurbished to the new evolution style room. It was huge compared to the premier inn room we had previously stayed at the Ayr racecourse. We had a bath too which I much prefer with shower over the bath, all nice and new and sparkling.
Staff were all pleasant, plenty of parking though mind and register your car or you could be fined!
We had breakfasts in the adjoining brewers fayre which were good. Normal premier inn food. We had an evening meal one night which was fine. Food choices and staff including a chef seemed to be limited. I was left with the carvery choice and this was fine in the end. The restaurant had quite negative reviews before we stayed but it was fine. There is a big play area inside too but not sure if only open at certain times. The staff who were there were friendly. Handy having a M and S food shop at the adjoining petrol station.
The only negative for me was one night it was extremely noisy with people coming and going. Presumably to catch very early morning flights from the airport but it sounded as if people were walking across our floor and kept us waking constantly. Maybe an upgraded room on the floor above might have been quieter. Overall a better stay than expected.
- Wanderer821766 (10/5): Comfort and friendly - Staff were very warm and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was very clean and as always the comfiest beds ever. Ample parking and a great location for what we needed. Easy to get to. Had a petrol station and a M&S food shop within 50 metres just in case . A direct entrance to the bar and restaurant which made things easy.
