Guest Reviews
- G7088MUbenb (2/5): Awful. - The room was cold on arrival and smelled of damp and overpoweringly musty.
The stuff were nice in the restaurant but very clearly stressed at being massively understaffed.
Trying to grab a quick bite to eat turned into a 1 and a 1/2 hour session for just a simple main and desert.
Food was extremely lacklustre.
- Y5989OEanaf (10/5): Excellent stay - Satisfied for our stay location is within the town centre near bus and train station, breakfast is good and staff was so friendly
- Meander05817256625 (10/5): Excellent comfortable stay - Fantastic comfortable beds and clean rooms, staff were lovely this is my second stay and I will be back, would 100% recommend this hotel
- cj0hnp (6/5): Book a table - Restaurant and carpark busy Need to book a table in advance to receive table service rather than ordering at the bar Food good for a chain hotel
- matthewtN2817QG (10/5): Great stay would stay again - Location great. Had food both in the evening and breakfast in the morning really great service and great food. Everything was piping hot and the chef came over to ask us if we was enjoying our food
- laineb858 (10/5): Fantastic Experience - Fantastic experience overall. Friendly welcoming staff, delicious food and a comfortable room. 10/10 will visit again.
- YateleyCharwell (8/5): Big rooms and excellent value. - Lovely spacious rooms, very comfortable, spotlessly clean and offers excellent value for money. Never tried the food as had a family breakfast elsewhere.
Minor considerations are it was quite noisy outside the hotel with lots of people about visiting the fast food chain opposite. The bar was shut when we got back from a family function circa 11.00pm which was disappointing. Car park wasn't easy to find (my Sat Nav got very confused!) Would stay again.
- Chrisjones781v (10/5): Great city centre hotel with brilliant staff. - Great location, rooms, breakfast and staff. Rooms clean with great shower. Breakfast was beautifully cooked with friendly staff. Would highly recommend.
- wendytU9736DO (2/5): Dreadful. - I was put next to a room of a family that clearly had 2 small children... Up until late walking around their room with what sounded like a herd of elephants.
Then this morning the kids running up and down the hallway at 8am screaming and playing with the dad joining in!!
Dreadful stay.
- john1bgood (8/5): Shame about the stone cold breakfast.. - Friendly and helpful staff. Immaculately clean rooms. Very comfy beds. Plentiful hot water.
The only negative was the breakfast. It might have been plentiful but it was stone cold. Inedible ! My advice save yoursel 10.99 and go across the road to McDonalds.
- hayleysS7157QE (10/5): Business stay - We attended as a group of 10 for business, check in was painless and quick, the guy on reception was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and all ready and as an extra treat we were given vouchers for food/drink, excellent!
- 777davinar (10/5): Great location and always a very relaxing stay - I stay at Premier Inn High Wycombe once a year for a specific event I attend and it always delivers a really relaxing, convenient and comfortable experience. The Premier Plus rooms are amazing and add a bit of luxury. The hotel makes walking to the town very accessible so you can pop back easily as well and the staff are lovely. I couldn’t really ask for more.
- 423avisheks (10/5): Best quality service - I went premier inn with my friends for breakfast where i found best quality Buffett breakfast and price was very reasonable and staff members was very good.
- nicholase188 (2/5): One step away from mattress in the street - One step away from a mattress in the street… rooms unbearably hot, water either freezing or burns and walls so thin that you can hear everything. Worst was the breakfast - utterly tasteless. Such poor quality. Guess ya pay for what you get but really Whitbred, what a scam. You could even learn from Ryanair !
- Joyce (10/5): - Clean and comfy room. Walk across the road to a supermarket, shops and plenty of dining options in the Old Market. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, nothing too much trouble. Would stay again if visiting Hereford.
- E2706ZEjanej (10/5): Great welcome, caring staff, clean & comfortable room, excellent location. Very satisfied!!! - Excellent, warm, friendly and caring welcome from Laura this morning. She was SO helpful in organising access to our room slightly early. Laura definitely went above and beyond for us. Our room is clean, spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The hotel is in an extremely convenient location for enjoying all that the beautiful city has to offer. Looking forward to our 3 days here! Thanks Premier Inn with a special thank you to Laura for your kindness this morning.
- CheshireReviewer (10/5): Perfect Position - I am a great Premier Inner and have been here before. It's in an excellent position - 10 mins walk from the station, across the road from Waitrose and a precinct full of shops and restaurants. Just a few minutes more and you are in the old town.
The room was clean and comfortable plus no noise. No doubt I'll be back again soon.
- Freedom09978956467 (8/5): Perfect for an overnight stay - Only a 1 night stay whilst visiting friends, we were going to have tea in the pub next door, but were met with a sign saying 'due to being understaffed, we are not taking any walk ins' oh...ok..! So went elsewhere for tea.
The room was ideal, normal PI standard, perfectly comfortable. Only issue I didn't like was not being able to open the window, air con in the room was great, but never the same as being able to open the actual window to let fresh air in.
- 800kawals (10/5): Good choice to stay - Amazing hotel and amazing staff... all staff members were very helpful... Will definitely stay again... special thanks to the house keeping....
- leebY4931JC (10/5): Very welcoming receptionists - Larry and Lynne were both incredibly helpful when I had some issues with a booking.
Nice hotel, good food and a great location.
- rogermS1585BE (10/5): Spot on accommodation in the right location - Ideal location, would go back, restaurant within easy walking distance, staff extremely friendly and accomading Need I say more.
- Dance99 (10/5): Fantastic stay - Arrived to helston premier inn to be greeted by the lovely receptionist Amanda ,so helpful and friendly, lovely clean room ,really attentive staff ,loved our stay and will definitely be back thankyou
- Gisle (6/5): - Toilet not properly cleaned. Irregular noises from the air-con at night. Room 110
- DKT65 (10/5): 2 night break before our secret garden glamping break - Another lovely premier inn experience. Nice reception staff. Great location for visiting surrounding areas such as Lizard, lands end and St ives etc.
Nice and quiet though the night and brekkie as normal for premier inn, does the job 👌
- R2655NGcourtneyw (10/5): Always a pleasure - The most amazing stay. I am a regular at this premier inn and i will continue to be. Staff are so attentive and kind. Food is amazing they have just got a new menu for dinner and it has definitely exceeded my expectations.
- andrewk695 (2/5): Poor exterior and inoperative ventilation - Access from the car park is disgustingly with the stair well obviously used as a public toilet (lifts out of action so no alternative. To be fair the car park is not owned or operated by premier inn but should they build hotels in areas such as this?
The ventilation / AC in our “premier” room wasn’t working and the windows could not be opened. Premier Inn refused to compensate us or honour their “good night’s sleep” guarantee as we didn’t go down to reception in the middle of the night.
Water flow in the bathroom sink is very slow but again the hotel don’t seem to be interested and didn’t respond on this point.
There is a travel lodge not far away which provides better value for money.
- beckyg611 (2/5): Sick on toilet - Parking was great and check in was very efficient.
After having a shower upon checking inn I noticed what smelt like sick and came to realise that there was still fresh sick around the toilet lid. There was also spots of sick on the bath panel and around wall by the toilet. The TV remote was not working and we realised when checking out and we looked under the bed there was lots of rubbish this was for a premier plus room as well.
On the evening on the way out to dinner we spoke with the lady at reception and advised of the remote and sick. She said she would sort straight away which she did but unfortunately the smell remained for the rest of our stay. We kept the bathroom door shut all night to try and enclosed the smell.
- 498wendye (10/5): Leisure Break away - Four of us stayed at the Premier Inn Hereford
from the 18th September until 20th September just wanted to say what a wonderful time was had by the four of us nothing was to much trouble as there were four of us we were accommodated with rooms that were intertwined and on the ground floor which was great for myself as I was struggling to walk the food was great and reasonable especially the breakfast would like to give a shout out to Laura, Deb and Dom cannot thank these people enough a warm and friendly service nothing was to much trouble
- RiRiJad (10/5): Fantastic Stay! - Great location, walking distance into town. Calm atmosphere, rooms were super clean. Great value and parking was easy and fairly priced. No issues with noise, great service and accommodating to our accessibility needs.
- DayTrip554103 (10/5): Ideal location - 20 minute walk into town to visit my favourite hostelry, the Blue Anchor! Close to bus routes at the Tesco. Managed to do some walking but one day was wet and kept me inside licensed premises! Room spotless, staff friendly and welcoming. With breakfasts at the adjoining May Tree, value all round.
- Y7130JEjamesw (10/5): Very good - Very clean rooms, lovely kind helpful lady at front of house, I believe her name was Sara or Sarah, credit to the company, excellent customer service skills and polite, give the lady a pay rise
- maryfabuk81 (10/5): Great hotel - Really nice hotel. Lovely building, nice and clean inside and lovely staff.
The room was a family room, well equipped with everything we needed.
Premier Inn beds really are the most comfortable, and this was no exception.
The only problem was the WiFi. The signal was really bad even with logging into the free wifi but I think it's simply the location that doesn't have great service.
Can't fault it. I'd stay here again.
- 429sazk (10/5): Perfect for concerts! - This premier in was a really good place to stay. We were going to Wembley Stadium for a concert and we arrived at 2:45 and managed to park in the hotel car park. This had about 10 spaces including 3 blue badge and was joined to the McDonald’s car park. The car park was well lit and had cctv covering the whole space. Was £18 for 2 nights which was quite good but if that is full you can literally go 5 metres around the corner to Dovecot Car Park.
Really good location as is next to a Sainsbury’s and a very short walk into the high street. We were in a room facing the McDonald’s and have seen people complain about noise but we didn’t hear anything apart from when we had our window open at peak times. The window had like a second window into the room which was really good at blocking out noise.
Our window was able to open but we also had aircon which was able to keep our room to the perfect temperature the whole weekend!
When we checked in there was a lovely woman who helped us with parking and checking in and was amazing! Room was spacious and clean and the wifi was pretty good for being free. It is only about a 10 minute walk to the train station aswell so perfect for travelling to concerts or London. All the staff we passed were so lovely and were also making sure you had everything you needed. Will be staying here again in the future!
- 695nigea (6/5): Not as good as previous stays……… - The hotel and hotel staff were superb. On the other hand we had such a cold reception from an older certain female member of staff at breakfast on the first morning. We had booked breakfast at the hotel reception but it had not shown up on their computer and it seemed to be the end of the world for this individual. There must have been 20 spare tables. We had prepaid for the time we were there and this experience seemed to put a dampener on the start of our holiday. The restaurant is seriously in need of a deep clean and revamp.Food remnants and crumbs under every table from the previous night.
- keithrE2611CD (10/5): from.. KEITH RUDGE - We stayed here 3 times this year .and booked again for a week. The staff are excellent beds very comfortable and clean.all staff keep the good work up
- C7538CEtonyb (6/5): Bring a packed lunch, pass on the breakfast - Arrived at hotel after travelling a few hours and was greeted by a very polite and helpful woman at reception. Hungry and thirsty we soon found out that the restaurant and bar did not open until 6pm ?? So we took ourselves off to High Wycombe town in search of food passing the local McDonalds next to the hotel. Could not see anything online to say the restaurant opens at 6pm - reception staff could only apologise and thought it mentioned the times on the website? Room was clean and comfortable. Location - Grotty. Breakfast - poor - crusty beans, tasteless sausages, bacon - just about cooked, hard fried eggs.
- lindsayannharper (10/5): Great stay with lovely Town. - Very friendly helpful staff lovely comfortable bed and clean rooms, close to supermarkets, pubs and a good hub for discovering the Lizard peninsula.
- Guide571652 (8/5): Great hotel - shame about the miserable waitress at The May Tree - The hotel staff and room were excellent. The pub next door was understaffed but breakfast good. Avoid waitress Sandy - rudest waitress we've ever met. Spoke to us like we were dirt on her shoe.
- EvelynVera (2/5): Fire alarm issues - We’ve stayed here multiple times over the years and the staff are generally welcoming and lovely the only issue we had previously was with the cleanliness of the room.
On this visit, we were put in a room with mould in the window and in the bathrooms, but it was eventually dealt with. The housekeeper was a brilliant lovely lady.
The main problem was I requested a late checkout until 1:30pm and informed the staff I would be in a really important work call.
At around 1:00pm the alarms in our room went off, initially I thought it was a drill, but it was triggered sporadically with no one warning, at least 10 times and it sounded like it was specifically in our room, as I couldn’t hear the main alarms outside.
At some point we thought it was deliberate, and my son who is extremely sensitive to loud noise was really troubled by it.
Having worked at hotels previously I am aware of the drill and fire alarm testing procedure and none of that was followed in this instance.
The general vibe of the hotel has changed as well, which is so sad to see, hopefully this was a one-off glitch.
- mecorich (10/5): Enjoyable stay - Really enjoyed our stay at Hereford City Centre Premier Inn.
As always, the rooms are clean, fresh & comfortable, overseen by Karen.
The staff were all really friendly & helpful, especially Laura the manager, who was on hand to answer any queries we had.
Our breakfast order was taken at the table, which we thought was a much better system than the usual buffet style.
Also a big shout out to Dom the chef, who provided the best breakfast we've ever had in a Premier Inn.
Very well presented, fresh & deliciously hot!
- 581harpreetk (10/5): Excellent - I recently stayed at the grand Uddhav hotel and was thoroughly impressed by both the accommodations and hospitality. The decor was fantastic and cleanliness was amazing.
- roycY409NE (10/5): Fantastic short stay in Hereford Premier Inn - Greeted very friendly when we arrived to check-in, room was clean and tidy. All staff were friendly and informative, restaurant staff all friendly and eager to please whenever we used the restaurant. Food was very nice both breakfasts in the morning and the meals we had at night as well.
Overall a very pleasant and enjoyable 3 night stay.
- Barty63 (8/5): Good visit , improve the May Tree - Stayed there a few times, always reliable. However the adjoining May Tree has gone down hill a bit. Dirty tables at breakfast, overflowing ashtrays outside (first thing in the morning). Dragon of a woman hosting breakfast.
- sophies808 (10/5): Would come back. - A lovely stay. Hotel quiet, rooms lovely and clean. The only issue we had was that the TV didn’t work properly. Breakfast nice. Staff really attentive. Downside is the parking. I really don’t think you should have to pay to park. Also very limited spaces.
- 224sahibs (10/5): Excellent - Great experience in this hotel. Beautiful place to stay with clean rooms and friendly staff.Excellent hospitality provided by the manager.breakfast was wonderful and they have wide selection of food .very happy and would recommend this place to anyone.very clean spacious and comfortable place to stay in...
- N7259HApaulh (10/5): Highly recommend all round hotel - Nothing at all negative. The room was extremely well positioned within the hotel number 202. Also it was specious and as usual with these chains, clean. Staff were helpful if asked. The hotel is well positioned for town access and the railway station and was in a relatively quiet back street. All in all , perfect and recommended to others!!
- rameshsR6480FB (2/5): Worst hotel in Helston - had a deeply disappointing experience at this hotel. The staff were consistently unfriendly and unhelpful. The air conditioning was inexplicably turned off during the night, making it very uncomfortable. The hallways had an overpowering bleach smell, and our room had multiple issues: non-functioning lights, no towels provided, and empty hand soap dispensers. Most concerning of all, there was visible mould covering the bathroom ceiling. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
- A5481OTalexp (4/5): Grubby and airless - Reception staff were friendly and helpful but room was very stuffy as windows don’t open and airflow system isn’t sufficient. Very dirty under the beds (not vacuumed) and mold on bathroom ceiling. Unfortunately these factors together made the room feel grubby, stuffy and claustrophobic. Strange stuffy smell in corridors too as also unventilated. Would not recommend.
- nippersUk (8/5): Over the Years - I have stayed at this establishment numerous times over a number of years , pre Covid,Covid to the present day.
To give some perspective I’m an old exile of Helston, well travelled and stayed at numerous Premiers around the UK.
I have always found the Premier at Helston to suit my purpose; it does what it states on the side of the can.
A comfortable bed,hot shower and clean room.
I have personally never had a problem with the cleanliness of my room, a bit functional,no frills but adequate for the price paid.
The room I have had,(I always request the same if possible ) is quiet and works for me.
If I had a suggestion perhaps put some tea/coffee bits on a trolley upstairs along with fresh towels to avoid pestering the reception and queuing at times for them?
Two large towels left in the room please would help.
Generally I find the staff ok ,the guy (Larry grey hair)’ especially welcoming and personable, others can be a bit surly and can be reluctant to assist.
I do think at times they make you feel a nuisance asking for bits, their body language and facial expressions say it all.
You know who you are ladies, either change your approach or leave and give someone else a chance of a job in hospitality.
In effect I will continue to stay here again,it’s obviously not 5 star but not equally not 5 star prices, certainly value for the money paid.
I
The May tree pub across the car park I struggle with over the years.
Great for convenience and a drink, but both the food quality and portion size is dire; service is often all over the place.
Its biggest draw is that it has a captive audience and within staggering distance of your room.
The decor is very tired and the bathrooms need to be far cleaner than they currently are.
- calscot54 (10/5): Two Happy Customerd - I would definitely recommend Premier Inn our stay was very pleasant. We stayed just one night the bedroom was clean and comfortable we had a good night sleet and had breakfast the following morning. Food was good with pleny of it and you could have have Full English or Continental
Staff were pleasant and made sure we had all we needed in the breakfast room
- dmK4461ZU (6/5): OKAY —Hard to justify cost - Stay was ok
Didn’t realize no lift , and long corridors for unfit
Registration for free parking not immediately obvious, you probably need an iPhone
Car park swimming in litter , would have thought they would employ someone to sweep it up occasionally , considering the vast amounts of money they are making
Not close to proper pubs or food , without driving
- LeeandLou (10/5): Best Premier Inn in the southwest - Stayed as a business customer many times. Always friendly and helpful staff on the desk. Particularly Larry and Lynn. Nice relaxed location. Loads of parking.
- margaretrS2129PK (10/5): Weekend away - Thanks a lovely few days stay in an ideal location for everything the beautiful city of Hereford has to offer. Back soon.
- E2903KMsophied (10/5): A wonderful trip! - Me and my Mum booked a twin room for a 3 night mini break. They gave us a family room, and it was really clean upon arrival, and the beds were super comfy (a large double and a single bed). All the staff we spoke to were lovely, especially Laura! 😊
- Jahan (8/5): - Good place to stay in Hereford for one night!
- Michael (10/5): - Good location in the center of the city, the staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. Air conditioning during a UK heatwave was just amazing!
- FrequentFlier677247 (10/5): Another great stay - Another great stay at this premier inn, now my go to when working in Hereford. The staff are really helpful and the food a good quality. Most importantly, I feel safe as a solo traveller. Thanks
- barbicantrader (10/5): Comfortable night. - Stayed here to attend a VE Day dinner locally, so we didn’t fully use the facilities. Bed was comfortable enough. Matto, working on reception, could not have been more helpful. If there is a criticism, it’s that the place could do with a proper bar. What is used as the bar seems to have been an afterthought addition to the restaurant, with little seating, and staffed by reception.
- SallyM1969 (2/5): Won't be staying here again - 1. Upon arrival at approximately 4pm we were not told that it would not be possible to have an evening meal due to there being no chef on duty. By the time that we did find out it left us very pushed for time to go to one of the nearby restaurants before we were required to be at the theatre.
2. The bar was being staffed by the sole member of staff on duty who was extremely professional, hard working and helpful but was hard-pressed to serve customers whilst also attending to check-ins and enquiries at the front desk.
3. My most serious concern that we have is regarding the fire alarm which went off at 3am. We understand that these things can happen but when guests evacuated the building no roll-call of rooms was taken by the one member of staff (DutyManager?) on duty and no instructions were given to guests. Even after the Fire Brigade arrived we still did not receive any instructions.
- robjO5170VT (2/5): Homophobic and rude experience - Upon check in with Evie we were asked if we had ordered 2 separate rooms.
We are a gay married couple so we found this rather insulting and homophobic.
I’m sure a male and female couple wouldn’t have been asked this question.
The bedroom was nice but very stuffy.
We both woke up several times throughout the night needing water.
The breakfast was described as ‘unlimited’ which suggests that you can help yourself to the food and go back up to the counter and grab another sausage or hash brown if you are still hungry.
This was not the case.
A member of staff seated you and took your cooked breakfast order. This meant that you couldn’t add anything extra to your plate once you had finished eating.
As we had a train to catch the next morning.my husband picked up a muffin to take back to our room to eat whilst getting ready.
He was stopped by the staff member and was told that he wasn't allowed to take it out of the breakfast room with him and was made to put it back!
This was a very rude and disappointing stay and we won’t be spending our money at a Premier Inn again.
- MrsGrotbags (10/5): Stay in Hereford - Laura in particular was very helpful and attentive. She answered all our questions even when she was really busy. Excellent service.
I need to write 200 characters for this to be approved but I don’t have much else to say- it was great and we enjoyed our stay.
- martinhead (8/5): No beef with Hereford - Lovely breakfast and nice clean and comfortable room. Parked the car right outside and had a short walk into the town centre and its facilities. Bath filled quickly, shower less full on than I would like. Good value for the two nights. Puzzled by need to request room be cleaned and towels changed. especially when towels got changed but room was otherwise untouched!
- L7265EFmariec (10/5): Lovely place . - Nice place and lovely staff which was laura and dom .food was spot on and the service was more than you could ask for. Xx I've really loved this hotel all the staff make you feel so welcome. I've enjoyed the room as well was so nice and tidy and great view of the shops .
- Ewsey (10/5): In general great staff, expensive drinks and who the heck decided on serving oven chips😱 - Made to feel very welcome from check in to check out. Evening meal was cooked as well as can be expected. If I want oven chips I'll go and see my vegan step Sister oven chips have no place in any restaurant. Chips whether fresh or frozen are by design meant to be deep fried in oil or lard not sit basking on a tray in an oven, big minus for this. If it wasn't for the convenience we would have walked to the Indian restaurant down the road had we known they were oven chips
