Guest Reviews
- S4808IEbills (10/5): One night stay over. - Excellent staff. I only used the hotel for accommodation. Excellent position for walking into town. Only downside was the cobweb over the bed.
- Travel32921399734 (10/5): The best Premiere inn we’ve visited! - The best premiere inn we’ve visited.
The inn is situated well for the cathedral etc . The rooms are light and comfortable
The staff are helpful and friendly .
Clean comfortable and friendly . Can’t wait to return!
- 729heatheru (10/5): Lovely calm place to stay - Absolutely lovely welcoming people , with a sense of humour and fun .Especially Madalina . Well done Heather
Easy to locate , quiet , food smashing .
- georgemihaitap (10/5): Perfect - Location is perfect, rooms are cleaned and the staff is friendly. Madalina was very nice and helpfull to choose our dinner
- simonwJ6534GE (10/5): Amazing - Julie was very welcoming and helped sort out an incomplete payment issue with our booking due to a minor issue on the system. Julie immediately identified the issue and understood how to rectify the problem straight away. Myself and my colleague had a very long drive and was very impressed with her skillset and thankful of her abilities and managed to getting checked in without much drama.
Julie is a credit to the company and I would recommend anyone to visit/stay at this hotel.
- matthewvR2658CM (10/5): Julie at the front desk was fantastic and very helpful. - Julie was fantastic.
Very welcoming and answered any questions. She helped sort out an issue we had with the last minute booking.
- Mimi123StIvesCambs (4/5): Great location - poor standard of rooms - Mould in windows
Mould in bathroom
Stained carpet
Stained duvet
Expensive considering tired decor and state of small room.
- A2898AAdavep (10/5): Little business trip - Fantastic venue ideally located for exploring bury St Edmunds, rooms clean and tidy food is great. Julie was really helpful would stay again 👍
- Coatdazur (10/5): Brilliant stay! - Lovely welcome from Maddalena & Julie. Nothing was too much trouble for them! Spacious & comfortable room, relaxing!
Really good breakfast , including fresh fruit. A smiling, friendly Chef in the kitchen.
Brilliant, central location in such a beautiful place. Much reduced parking fee for the 48 hours we were there, so, all in all, a very successful stay!
Thank you Everyone!
- T407MVyvonneo (8/5): Great location in Bury St Edmunds - Good location. Easy walk into town. Super room with comfy bed and all amenities. Hearty breakfast and good choice of food.
- W5906USamyr (10/5): Great hotel in Bury St Edmonds - I stay almost every week and the staff are great! Madalina is lovely. Always wanting to do a good job. As are the managers. The premier plus rooms are great as is the free WiFi it comes with.
- SKFletcher (10/5): Two night stay - Service was professional and helpful.
The breakfast was good, but the dinner was a bit hit or miss. The room was clean, but the bedside table was opposite side to plug socket and the normal rust and scum around the soap dispenser was no surprise.
It's in a nice location and overal, not a bad place to stay
- edg477 (10/5): Julie is a star! - Huge shoutout to Julie at the front desk. She was incredibly warm and personable, and made my experience feel comfortable and reassuring. Even though I was far from home (New York), I felt like I was in good hands.
- chriswF1276OU (10/5): Julie - Quick check in by Julie , what a cheerful welcome after a long drive. Location is perfect and Julie helped us with suggestions of outside dining . Premier inn what at asset to your company Julie is

- vivienne156 (10/5): Perfectly placed for Priory and Historic town visit - Perfectly located for walks in the beautiful Priory gardens and a short walk through a miriad of lovely shops to the town centre. The family room was spacious ,clean and very comfortable .
- sharonmC9378LV (10/5): Pleasurable - Always excellent service , Julie and Sophie in particular were extremely helpful, nothing too much trouble, food absolutely brilliant , great choice for breakfast and plenty of it. Great start to the day
- 515clairg (2/5): False Advertising, disappointing stay - Very poor experience.
I booked this night stay with the decision made purely on the basis that I was offered the complementary breakfast.
However what premiere inn fail to tell you is that despite still advertising to this day on their website that there is a beefeater resturant at this location, giving you false hope that a drink, dinner and breakfast were available on the doorstep THERE IS NOT!
On realising only when booking in as the people in front of us questioned how was breakfast going to work with beefeater closed permanently
We asked immediately for a refund , discount, vouchers or possibility of transferring to another hotel only to be told there was no manager to speak to and only a website for contacting guest relations.
Now out of pocket for 2 breakfasts we had to go and get that from mac donalds did not live up to the promised unlimited choices.
The hotel it's self was in fairly good condition however despite always having a comfy night at all the other premiere innsvi have stayed in I had no sleep whatsoever due to the mattress having a problem on one side ( poss broken springs?) In the middle on edge this made it sink to the bed frame and also caused the bed to creak everytime you slightly moved other half of mattress was perfect. This was room 111 so I do not reccomend anyone books if they want a cooked breakfast( or continental) and avoid room 111 if you want a night's sleep.
Even had a cheek to give key card in pouch asking how I would like my eggs and advertising what time breakfast was just to add insult!
- ChrissyKyte (8/5): A great position for the town - A typical Premier Inn. You know what to expect. This one is in an excellent position to visit Bury St Edmunds. All staff are friendly and helpful. Julie was on reception on our arrival and was very helpful. Room was clean enough but had to ask for an extra towel as there was only one and the tea and coffee hadn’t been replenished. Only little things but why we can’t rate it a five.
- SomersetStuart (10/5): First rate service - a credit to the staff - We arrived late travelling from Somerset and Justin was extremely helpful sorting out our check in and car park arrangements.
The following morning we had a late breakfast and were pleasantly surprised by the care and attention we received from the breakfast team comprising
Fran, Lisa And Sigyn who went above and beyond our expectations from this hotel chain.
As we had a funeral to attend later the same day we were able to use the foyer as a waiting area before we departed. During this time the staff were always asking if there was anything we needed, again a lovely touch.
We would definitely use this hotel again if and when we are in the area.
- NishalS20 (4/5): Closed restaurant dampens half-term holiday - We booked this hotel with the offer of a complimentary breakfast for two adults and two children. A few days before we arrived, I received an email mentioning that the adjoining restaurant would be closed for refurbishment. We were very disappointed but went ahead with the trip as we had paid for the hotel anyway. Why would the restaurant close for refurbishment during half-term school holidays? The free pastries offered in the hotel reception didn't do much to hide our disappointment. We will think again before taking up another offer from Premier Inn.
- Kindle66 (10/5): Can't fault, it was fabulous. Well looked after by Liam and Lauren from night staff. - We randomly pucked this Premier during a long journey when it became clear we werent goung to make it to pur destination that night due to multiple diversions. We arrived after midnight after 6 hours of driving and received the warmest of welcomes from Lauren and Liam. When they heard of pur journey they wanted to make sure we had a drink and checked we haf eaten. We sat at the bar for half and hour and Liam was bery attentive. Wr had a lovely room, very comfortable bed and when we came down for breakfast Liam had just finished his duty and but came over to ask if we had slept and again after we had finished our fabulous breakfast.
- MrSmith1981 (10/5): Good stay spoilt by lack of information - The hotel itself was good. Bedroom was clean and quiet. Sleep was also good
The only problem we had was the beefeater next door was closing so we werent able to book and eat. We should have been told about this when we booked, we had to travel to eat elsewhere
- jennyfI3889VI (10/5): All round first class - First class for absolutely everything.
Such efficient, happy staff. Very clean and warm, comfortable accommodation with fabulous food.
- NerdyFerdy (2/5): Don’t bother if you don’t like puffed up pillows - Only one size pillow that always gives me a stiff neck (no alternative pillows available at reception). The only saving grace to this hotel was it wasn’t located near a busy road junction so not too much traffic noise. Breakfast buffet was ok
- venessa1969 (10/5): Teagan is a star - Great location brilliant staff especially Teagan on check in she was friendly helpful polite and just a really nice young lady, 😁😁
- emmacA8045HF (2/5): Unhappy experience - Awful! Arrived, walked into the room we was given…lights were on, curtains closed, room had not been cleaned and smelt! Dirty towels!
Room door did not close or lock either to top it all off!!
- davidpS3324ZT (10/5): 10/10 - Absolutely fantastic hotel. the room was small but comfortable, the new menu is delicious with a lot of choice. The staff made me feel welcome as soon as I walked through the door.
- 444nikaf (10/5): Lovely stay! - Stayed here for a business trip recently and was so nice to have someone so approachable and helpful on the desk.
Thank you Farzana for all of your help!
- G3357TVmattheww (10/5): Top class - On 15th August 2025 myself and my now wife had the first part of our Legal ceremony. We stayed at the Premier inn A14 with our best friends and witnesses who unbeknown to us had spoken with the premier inn on our arrival and asked for our room to be able to check in early and gave them a just married banner to put in the room for us while we were out. The staff at Premier inn A14 done more than just that they even left us a bottle of champagne on ice waiting for us on our arrival back at the hotel at no charge. Thank you to the staff members who did all this for us you know who you were, it was very much appreciated. Many Thanks
- U5801ACjennyh (10/5): Thanks France - Always enjoy staying at Premier in, but this time want to say a special thanks to France. When there was a small fault with the aircon in our room on a very hot night, she really went out of her way to quickly solve the problem. Thank you!
- GrandTour61488224194 (10/5): Monday night stay - Just checked in at premier inn Buckingham great service lovely lady on desk as you expect from premier inn service with a smile
- Navigator30109837823 (10/5): Absolutely brilliant - Stayed at this hotel for a trip to the races. We were looked after really well by Lisa throughout the evening, who took the time to recommend places to visit in Bury. We also had a great breakfast and we'll definitely be returning in the future.
- Paradise674408 (10/5): Great Customer Service from Mason! - Mason was so helpful just want to say thank you!
Just a short stay but as always premier in is not the prettiest but always a good nights sleep 😴 the beds are so comfortable
- Q4243EQalessiac (10/5): Amazing stay - Amazing service upon check in and during the stay, very friendly staff, always attentive and helpful. The room was very clean upon arrival and is very quiet, just perfect!
- H5558OZwendyw (10/5): Good Breakfast! - I didnt stay here for a night but i came to visit my mother in law for her 70th birthday, place was really clean and the staff are so welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic and a good deal for just £10.99 and even my kids got to eat for free! Will definitely be coming back again soon
- H8396VPemmah (6/5): Meh, lacklustre at best - Arrived early at 11 (paid extra for an 11am check in) to be told our family room wasn’t ready for us. We needed to get ready for wedding so accepted they would sort it.
Got to room found it set up with a cot bed (my boys are 10 & 15!) one towel and nothing much else.
Went to get ready at venue instead and got home to find still only 1 towel and 2 mugs for 4 of us - no signs of life at reception at any point.
Whilst beds were comfortable and it was literally then only a place to sleep/brush teeth - for over £100 I would have expected better… just getting the basics right…. Wouldn’t go back
- 22philll (10/5): Great overnight stay - Great location for access, clean rooms, great food and a nice bar. Staff were incredably freindly and welcoming. Would deffinately stay here again
- X3704BLjamesh (2/5): A shockingly unpleasant and expensive stay. - It began so well with the easy check-in, but spiralled out of control after that. We stayed in room 218 on Friday night of 11 July. Dinner of fish and chips was inedible: dry, burnt and oven cooked to death. Cheap and nasty. The peas were hard and the chips no better than your local’s frozen. The mac’n cheese is tiny at £14 with one tiny piece of garlic bread served.
The hotel kindly left us a poo stained towel which we discovered before breakfast!!! Enough said about that. The queue for breakfast with impatient parents staring at empty tins where bacon, eggs, mushrooms and hash browns should be was a sad parade. We consumed their tired continental, just to be safe.
The only saving grace was the aircon in the room, and the pleasant staff members. A shockingly unpleasant and expensive stay.
- Inspiration625987 (2/5): Not good - Toilet seat broken
Body fat on shower head
Dust webs on walls
All electrical items out of date
Door hanger in bathroom broken / missing
Only 1 towel for 2 people
Reception unable to hear us due to wearing earphones and listening to music
No information regarding where to get breakfast in the morning
No WiFi information
- rajsU3142DM (10/5): Feeling welcomed and part of the team! - Premier Inn North is a fantastic place to stay. The staff are excellent - super helpful. The car park is safe and so too is the local area. The rooms are clean, comfy and suitable for short overnight stays. I’m here every week and the staff make it feel home from home. (The breakie is great too).
- JohnP245 (4/5): Two night stay for the grand prix - The hotel is in a great location for people attending Silverstone - just 15 mins drive to the south. As with anywhere when the Grand Prix is on the rip off begins and £698 is the price for 2 nights. I obviously knew this and accepted although ridiculous as the location was good and I'd just have to suck the cost up.
The hotel shows a very obvious lack of care and maintenance - the first room we had the tv didn't work so we got moved to another. In this room the shelving was literally hanging off the wall and 2 of the 3 towel rails in the bathroom were missing. In general the rooms look run down and uncared for. And all the time you are there - day and night there is regular noise from some sort of plant equipment - lasts for a minute or so at a time but very loud and regular.
We ate on both evenings in the Beefeater across the road, the service was good and the food arrived quickly - it's the usual fairly bland stuff - nothing exciting but ok.
- bassams996 (10/5): Great Hotel - Great hotel and great staff. The team were fantastic and made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Highly recommend.
- D1251IWkareng (8/5): Very comfy bed and blackout curtains = excellent night's sleep - You can't beat a Premier Inn! There is a large, free car park. The bed was very comfy and with the blackout curtains this allowed a great night's sleep. We didn't hear any noise from inside or outside of the hotel.
- E9391NDjacquelines (6/5): It's Just OK - I stay at this Premier Inn as it is convenient for work and on average 1-2 nights per month. This hotel is definitely deteriorating and needs an upgrade. Reception staff are always lovely and efficient. I only booked a standard room as they are getting very expensive. On arrival in the room (213) I was pleased to see a card on the side exclaiming how good the beds are. Alas mine was awful and made a loud squeaking noise every time I turned over and was very uncomfortable so I didn't get much sleep. The shower head holder was also broken so I had to limbo under to have a shower. The room was near to the main road and is only partially double glazed so lots of noise to disturb sleep. Its such a shame to see it deteriorate as its really handy with a big Tesco next to it so you can buy something to eat if you don't want a "ping" meal offered from a limited menu in the Premier Inn itself. Come on Premier Inn you can do far better as I have stayed in your recently upgraded Premier Inns in other locations.
- neilrC380VR (6/5): Terrible food - Rooms are ok staff polite
But food it awful burger is like rubber to much microwave terrible food will not eat that crap again all microwave crap. Curry microwaved way too long how can they charge that much. Definitely ain't any chef here that's for sure. Better of eating for the chippy up the road
- michale002 (10/5): Overall good experience - Overall good experience. Clean & tidy bedroom. Room smells fresh.
Welcoming was excellent and helpful
I had breakfast and it was nice, breakfast room was big enough and didn't wait too long to be served.
Location is good and very quiet.
Better update your Google postcode as it took me to a wrong location however the sign I've spotted on the nearest roundabout was helped me reached out.
- colinjX8599AU (8/5): Fairly satisfied - Pillows and bed were comfortable but the room needs more time to clean properly . Staff were friendly, didn’t get informed about registering car on system for free parking but did it in the end, plenty of parking spaces. Beefeater restaurant right next door, also friendly staff .
- Tourist65044266379 (10/5): Lovely stay - We stayed at this hotel on Good Friday for the day/evening.
First impressions were very good, nice big car park and very friendly receptionist.
When we got to our room we discovered they had left the kids a special Easter treat which was a lovely touch!
The room was clean and beds were comfy.
If I had to complain about anything… maybe the room can feel a little cramped with 4 of us sharing but it was for one night so really don’t mind and the shower head dripped a little after use so we had to tie a towel round it so it didn’t keep us up in the night. Otherwise there was nothing wrong with our stay.
We ate in the beefeater for an evening meal and for breakfast. Both meals were lovely and although busy in the evening the staff were prompt at taking our order and delivering our meals.
We were attending a race event at Silverstone and the location of this hotel was perfect for it.
We would definitely recommend and will be back later in the year!
- Tour65206535502 (10/5): Excellent stay - We have just got back from a lovely stay at this hotel. Great welcome at reception by Lisa, very friendly lady who gave us some great recommendations of things to do with the children. Really nice breakfast, no issues, will definitely be returning.
- angelahP7420EY (10/5): Fantastic Accessibility facilities and helpful friendly staff - Thank you to the staff, especially Lek for your friendly and helpful service with my visit with my disabled elderly father - a relief when having an accessible room and premises - it's very difficult to get proper accessible rooms when traveling. Booking was made easier with Premier Inn's Accessibility service number for booking
- ianbL9421YZ (4/5): Really disappointed. - The bed was very comfortable, the rest of the stay wasn't. The bed had good pillows, the bathroom was absolutely disgusting, mould on the walls and ceiling, cracks in the plaster, dirt in the shower grout. The Restaurant left a lot to be desired breakfast really bad, half cooked food.
- janiceB702 (4/5): Don't try and complain because you can't! - Check in 3pm. Room not ready. Got to room. Horrible noise. Thought it was air con. room.316. Went to reception who said yes aware. Can't do anything about it! Sounded like a train going through. Had an awful night sleep. Disappointed that staff didn't care. Had meal deal. Menu . More items not available. Breakfast even worse. Don't waste your money on this place.
- adamhermitage (10/5): Reliable stay - We have stayed here before and took advantage of a good half term deal.
We paid £120 for a family room, breakfast and 2 course evening meal
Good WIFI and safe parking with a Beefeater restaurant within 50 metres
The room was clean and tidy as we would expect from Premier . It’s well situated for National Trust and our visit to Bletchley Park code breaking station
We gather it’s very popular for Silverstone
Special “shout out” for Tina the Receptionist!
- carrie570 (10/5): Polite staff & clean hotel - Just what you’d expect from a standard premier inn. Plenty of free parking. Supermarkets & costa on your doorstep. Polite staff, clean room and everything in working order. Standard premier inn breakfast at restaurant. No issues apart from WiFi is bad. But I find that a lot at premier inns.
- lurcherluvvie (10/5): Non-fussy but comfortable and handy location - Friendly welcome easy check-in and a very clean comfy room. Especially like the lighting options and a decent shower and bed. Heating worked really well too as it was a cold night. Really handy location as travelling from east to west and needed a stop halfway (was close enough to main road links but without being on top of the busy traffic, as on a retail park tucked away). Buckingham a 5 min drive away and this had some top-notch options for food/social and a decent car park.
- S3492PJandrews (10/5): Always top service - Have stopped here the last 3 years the same time of year each year. I have had nothing but good service every time. The staff are helpful and welcoming. I had a medical problem this year and they have been great helping me. The rooms are always clean and can’t beat there showers they are just great
