Guest Reviews
- V8159NFamits (10/5): A Memorable Experience - Loved my stay here! Super comfy beds, great shower, and the team at reception were so helpful with directions. Will definitely be back!
- Camper02293976671 (2/5): Unmanned hotel? - Hotel reception staff never ever pick up their phone no matter the time for day. After 2 weeks of trying to call, spoke with female staff who was searching for my booking on a WRONG date and kept saying my booking did not exist. No apologies for my wasted time
- Freedom366989 (10/5): Excellent staff - I had wonderful staying in that cozy place "Premier Inn West Thurrock", very good service!
Especially Ralitsa on the bar best service staff!
- N19EEY (6/5): Clean, great staff BUT FREEZING COLD - Stayed here before and the staff that your deal with on face-face basis are great , the food from the restaurant is fantastic and always served quickly by the great staff. Breakfast is always fresh and hot, and Jamie is always on hand to help and is a credit to the hotel..
BUT , the premier inn management must think it’s a cost saving idea to have all the rooms set to 17’c and non controllable in the rooms . I was not the only one complaining about this daft procedure… guess it may save them a few quid in the long run doesn’t help us paying guests on what is the coldest days of the year …
- kimhS1536IL (10/5): Family friendly hotel - Family friendly hotel, warm welcoming from reception, fab new room. We’ve done a lot of shopping in Lakeside mall nearby
- 146indrec (10/5): Very pleasant stay - Our stay at Premier Inn was truly wonderful. The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The room was spotless, cozy, and very comfortable – the bed was perfect after a long day. We’ll definitely be coming back!
- paulpG1858RJ (10/5): Good hospitality and professionalism - Marina at the reception , she’s absolutely amazing and really helpful.
Definitely premier inn could use more staff like Maria.
All the best
- 633debbym (10/5): Great plot stay - Excellent place to stay, lovely warm room, comfortable bed, easy on line check in, drop card check out, cooked breakfast, great value for money, friendly helpful staff.
- joepV1382UC (8/5): Nice room, great price but check in was slow - Great room with working heating/air con which made a change and was welcoming as I had ridden my motorbike 200miles in biblical rain so needed to warm up and dry out.
Only slight disappointment was all the self check in screens weren't working so a 5 min wait for a member of staff to become free from working elsewhere in the hotel.
- 557graemem (6/5): Avoid Ultimate WiFi - WiFi Ultimate doesnt work. Paid for it and even after several new codes just unable to connect. Free WiFi not any better.
- Trishipops (8/5): Lovely tidy hotel and room, just slightly overpriced - Room was immaculate, lovely and quiet. Heard no noise from outside or within the hotel. Location was easy to travel to.
Lovely friendly welcome upon arrival.
Downsides - only one pillow per person and these were exceptionally firm, infact I would say hard.
Felt the room was slightly overpriced as I have stayed in many hotels of the same standard for less, with breakfast included. Premier Inn was charging an extra £17 per person for breakfast.
- 703elliotm (4/5): Decent venue, poor customer service, add £7.50 if you have a car! - Confusion over refunding a meal deal, followed by huge confusion the following morning regarding parking for me and 2x other unrelated people.
The car park has been 'sold' to an external company that charge for parking. Premier Inn apparently have no access to that company to see who has or hasn't paid for parking, which is fine until the lady at check in say's she's waived the parking fee. Upon check out, we were advised to drive off and we might get a £50 parking fine, we might not!
- 853lorrainen (6/5): Great sleep but very poor breakfast. - The comfort is good and the hotel clean.
I will not bother with breakfast again it is really poor. Lack of items AGAIN. The continental is so basic it is not worth the money and if you don't get up super early they will run out of items. This has happened to us before but we won't eat there again.
- wayneh681 (6/5): Restaurant lets the site down - Overall facilities and room were good, for a good nights sleep.
Restaurant and service let the site down, food not great and service slow and not professional.
- llF5176CA (10/5): One night family accomodation - I've been served by Lidia and Marina who did their best to accomodate all family in same room. Very friendly and supportive. Room was clean and good temperature for a November night.
- O7887OGianh (2/5): Sorry Sir, the restaurant is full! - After 5-6 hours on my drive up to Thirsk, I experienced an exceptionally poor dining service. Made to wait unnecessarily. Felt like my presence was interrupting the staffs time! The place was virtually empty, yet i was told by a young female staff member I couldn't sit to eat until 7.30pm. The restaurant remained 75% empty thereafter, whilst I waited, and even had to ask if I could sit in the restaurant to have a glass of wine whilst I waited. It felt like just those simple things asked were a huge burden to the staff. By the way, they forgot the wine I'd just ordered, so I had to order again. They, in my view - and I truly am NOT a complainer, having owned my own cafe for 5 years and know how things can be when busy - the staff need PROPER training session in service hospitality. CERTAINLY put me off Premier Inn for good, which, as a traveler in my line of work has taken the group off my stay list.
- NCR_1992 (4/5): I'd reconsider booking here next time. - My Mum and I visit Lakeside each year around this time for a Christmas shopping trip. We usually stay elsewhere but thought with such a bargain price, we'd give it a go! Upon arrival there were signs detailing a £7.50 overnight parking charge - I was slightly annoyed by this as I don't feel this was made clear at the time of booking (we booked direct). We usually stay at another hotel locally, where parking is free.
The reception area was tidy and we were greeted and made to feel welcome.
I found the bed quite hard and woke up feeling quite stiff - at 5.30, when the fire alarm went off. We traipsed downstairs in a sleepy haze, along with everyone else. Once at reception we were told the gentleman in room 6 was having a shower that was too hot and the steak had set the alarm off. This information went down like a led-balloon as I'm sure you'll realise. The staff went back to work and someone had to ask if we were able to return to our rooms, which we were. Overall, not the best stay, but maybe you get what you pay for.
- lucasashf (6/5): Amazing staff, Lackluster facilities... let down by other guests... - We stayed for the London MCM Comic Con Convention and this was decent for what we wanted in terms of hotels.
Staff in the hotel were absolutely amazing and can not fault their work and efforts one bit, all were helpful an informative when asked for information and helped with our needs when needed.
Breakfast was nice, quiet dinning area for the breakfast with the normal self serve style buffet, all food was hot and fresh.
The hotel facilities were okay (Typical premier inn) but the 2nd couch bed is far from comfortable, I kept waking up with massive shoulder pains and couldn't sleep the first night due to discomfort.
There was also a couple in a nearby room who wouldn't stop arguing late into the night which also ruined our sleep for Friday and Saturday night (Getting less than 4 hours per night as a result of them) and I understand that isn't in the control of Premier inn themselves but it doesn't set a nice tone for the stay.
Parking facilities are somewhat secure but WAY overpriced for what it is, It's £7.50 per night, We ended up paying £30 in total for parking no where near London but being able to leave and come back was nice. In addition to the parking, if you don't drive, a trip into London will take over an hour just to get to East London so not ideal if you don't drive as a location.
Despite the lack of connections to London the location is nice coming from the M25, the area is relatively quiet.
Summing everything up
Staff are great, many compliments!
Many facilities require improvement.
- johnkY8799RL (10/5): Pleasant stay at West Thurrock - Quick and efficient check in. Room nice and clean, slight disappointment at only one towel and minimal tea/coffee supplied, only enough for 1 cup each and no biscuit. Lilia and Marina very helpful. Breakfast was ok, not very hot. Still a nice stay and comfortable bed. Will definitely come back here.
- 730favoure (10/5): Outstanding service - So when we arrived the staff(Lilia & Marina) greeted us very kindly and helped us get our key card. When we got into the room it was so neat and tidy and the bathroom was spotless. We would recommend this hotel to everyone.
- 331tamere (10/5): It was a very good experience, team of hotel was very cooperative and nice - Perfect experience, location and also team was very cooperative and nice , generally it was very interesting and very nice
- Tonywha (8/5): Great hotel, very good menu and very friendly staff. - This hotel was good. The rooms were a good size but a bit outdated.
The staff were great, especially Marina, who we found to be very helpful and patient.
- 21blondie (8/5): Friday night away - Clean room a little small compared with other rooms were have stayed in there. No bath which we would of liked, only a shower which was fine.
- D7444MGlilianaa (10/5): Helpful staff - The staff are very friendly and helpful.
I had to check out early during the night and the lady in the reception helped me with bags and allowed me to park in front of reception. She was so busy in the reception but she didnt stopped helping. I think her name was Mirana.
It was such a great help for me. Thank you
- 468vv (10/5): Outstanding service - I had a wonderful stay at Premier Inn West Thurrock. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. A huge thank you to Lilia and Marina for their outstanding service — they were so friendly, helpful, and really made me feel welcome. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!
- dragosv761 (10/5): I reccomend this hotel because of the clean rooms and the good staff. I woud enjoy a next stay at this hote. Recomand - I reccomend this hotel because of the clean rooms and the good staff. I woud enjoy a next stay at this hote. Recomand..::.
- JGB75 (2/5): Disappointing at best - Disappointing at best.
A long wait at check in, and no pre-check in machines working.
Confusion over the meal deal which meant the process took longer than it should and I was left feeling that I was being inconvenient.
Prebooking evening meal was essential, told to come back an hour later as there was no room despite a multitude of empty tables.
Items on the menu no longer available when we eventually ordered. The wait for the food and drinks to arrive was too long. The above was simply due to minimal staff.
To add insult the room was absolutely freezing and the WiFi is dreadful.
- samuelcT3696HP (10/5): Nice staff - Great stay and modern rooms! khurshid really helped me out by printing out abit of paperwork I needed for tomorrows job! 👍
- I7768TVmaxb (4/5): Had to pay for parking & Early check in fee - NOT IMPRESSED - Staff was not pleasant.
Was not aware that parking for not even 48hours will cost me £15.
Early check in fee of £15 is definitely a bit steep.
- H5567VOjohnp (6/5): Computerized systems not working. - Internet advance check in not working.
Tablet check in at reception desk not working.
Reception staff missing.
Therefore you'll need to give extra time to get checked in.
P.s. coffee machine in room not working.
- N7241HGlizc (10/5): Premier Inn Thirsk - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Premier Inn Thirsk and we'll be back.
Have stayed there before and always feel at home there.
- alexandraandreeaz (10/5): Excelent - I had an amazing experience, the staff are very helpful and properly trained. The hotel are very clean and tidy. The room was worm and very clean. I will come back for sure. I really recomand this hotel.
- markmX8710ZD (8/5): Expensive - Lovely stay and great staff above and beyond, but the only problem i have is the prices ? Disgustin-
2 x small bottles of coke - £3:50 each
Half a larger -
£5:00
That is absouletly disgusting prices and Premier Inn need to charge this. I wont stay here again paying these prices
- lovepreets615 (10/5): Great Experience at Premier Inn Thurrock West! - I had a very good experience at Premier Inn Thurrock West. Me and my family really enjoyed the food and the service was amazing. There were no issues with checking in and out. The room was also very clean and tidy. Definitely will be back again!
- 467editas (10/5): Geat stay - Excellent!! Hotel looks stunning after refurbishing. Clean and nice maintenance. Rooms very spacious and spotless. As soon ai enter the reception Receptions Indra welcome me with the great smile explaining all about Meal deal and breakfast. Next morning other lady in the reception tiny was very helpful with the transport company. Amazing service and definitely will be back!
- tegc1994 (4/5): Receptionist saved from being 1 star! - Receptionist was perfect!
The remote in the room didn’t work, lady on reception tried to rectify but tv was an issue as would not connect to any remote. We were then moved to another room, which was an inconvenience but greatly appreciated.
We booked dinner. Went down for the allotted time. Was sat down with little greeting. Neglected for 30-40 minutes despite people being sat down next to us (after us), their order was then taken and again we hadn’t even been asked if we wanted drinks. This happened again so we decided to get up and leave. Spoke to the lovely lady at reception who apologised profusely and offered a complimentary drink. We declined as we didn’t want to sit in and wait any longer but appreciated the gesture.
Unhappy with the neglect from wait staff, despite there being at least 3 people waiting. The restaurant was not busy.
The following morning I went down about half nine and asked what time breakfast close and was bluntly told 10, followed by an eye roll.
I wouldn’t have gone it at this time because it would have created work for the staff working that morning going to eat so close to the closing time of breakfast. I didn’t appreciate the eye roll and attitude.
- traceysU2420OA (6/5): Kitchen staff a disaster - If you're just looking for a base then this hotel does the job.
Customer service from the young lad serving in the restaurant was great. However very under resourced for a busy Thursday evening.
Kitchen staff were unfriendly, inexperienced and looked like they hated working there. Dinner was the worse we have experienced ever. Chips were spilt on the food counter where they had missed plates and dumped back on. The garnish was one brown piece of lettuce and hygiene questionable.
Strongly advise you book a table elsewhere.
- tonywhitefs101 (8/5): Great stay race days - Very clean and tidy, comfy bed courteous staff, and super breakfast bar. Easy access into the lovely Market Town of thirsk, with its shops, bars, and eateries. Plenty of parking, great short stay hotel. Great for race days.
- justturned25 (6/5): It’s ok - Been improved recently. The Plus rooms do not have a walk in shower (as others do) but a slippery bath. No wire free phone charging. And no still water on this occasion. Been done on the cheap, compared to their other hotels. Staff distant. Parking £7.50. It’s ok however not as expected.
- happyholidaygirl62 (10/5): A very good Premier Inn with friendly and helpful staff - We spent 2 nights at Premier Inn Thirsk in August as a celebration of my 70th birthday. We got a warm welcome at reception when we checked in and we were very pleased with our Premier Plus room. We ate both evenings in the Thyme Restaursnt and enjoyed our meals. The staff were very friendly and hard working, especially the lady chef who prepared all the meals singlehanded and was very efficient.
- STUART19_11 (4/5): Premier Inn Thirsk - Good bedrooms but restaurant poor. Did not expect lack of a bar and substandard evening meals especially when there were no other alternative facilities in the immediate area.
- Philibip (10/5): Great for weekend stopover - Often stay here when visiting my home town. Place has had issues a while back, but the last two times have been good. The latest, this weekend, was great. The newly decorated Reiner plus rooms were lovely. The corridors are looking cleaner and refreshed. Well worth the money they have spent on the refurb.
- 502fionab (10/5): Amazing staff - Really quiet hotel.
Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I have visited many premier inns and staff are indifferent and uninterested in a lot of them. Not here! Great vibe.
Thanks especially to Casey and to Megan.
You deserve an award by the Company!
- 688adriank (4/5): Beware parking is NOT hotel run - Stayed here a number of times previously and it was just about adequate. Room was far too hot and the windows are restricted opening so a poor nights sleep. The Premier Inn website The hotels website says "We offer an exclusive guest parking discount of £7.50 per 24 hours. Simply find a space and pay less to park. ". What they don't tell you is that even if you give your registation at checkin they may not add parking to your bill. In my case I got a £60 PCN which was the fault of the hotel but Premier Inn say you have to contest with Horizon Parking or the booking agent. How would they booking agent know to add it to my booking? Very unhelpful. Would not stay at a Premier Inn with parking charges again.
- raisenmuffin (8/5): Decent Premier Inn - Thh hotel is undergoing some renovations which will make this a lovely place to stay. We were fortunate enough to have a newer room with the newer decor that is being implemented. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom was modern and well thought out. We were able to request a room with a bath for our daughter which is always a plus when travelling with children. We had booked a family room and there was plenty of space with the additional bed put up, which is not always the case. There was a fan provided in the room as there is no air conditioning at this hotel. However, the fan did not work, therefore, it was rather warm.
- kevinwI4722JM (2/5): Never again - I do not recommend this hotel having stayed here in July and suffering from food poisoning we stayed on a breakfast and evening meal .
I cannot fault the cleaning of the bedroom/bathroom always spotless.
Whereas the dining room leaves a lot to be desired lack of staff sticky tables not cleaned sufficiently .
Tables stacked high of dirty dishes not cleared away waiting for milk for break fast my poached eggs like bullits not trained how to make poached eggs obviously!!.
No prepared fresh fruit in the bowl just waiting around for replenishment my partner reported my illness to the customer service department who surprisingly found no case to answer food very poor, we have stayed at many Premier inn and this is the worst hotel we have stayed in and we will never stay or recommend this hotel in Thirsk the standards have dropped significantly..
- J851417 (8/5): Great location and good for families - This hotel is a great location for Lakeside and easy access into London. The pub next door was nice for families, kids enjoyed soft play and the kids meals. Lots of choice at breakfast and good value for money.
Issue at check in, the staff member did attempt to resolve it. But not the best customer service.
- Sds201 (2/5): Worst experience at a premier inn hotel - Despite paying for early check in and breakfast we were told that our rooms may not be ready for 11am as advertised. We needed access to the room early to get ready for a wedding. We were told that food would not be served in the restaurant until breakfast the next day so my children ate crisps for lunch (the wedding meal wasn’t until mid afternoon). We were woken at 5am by the room above us banging and what sounded like running and jumping around. This continued for 2 hours. My sister who was staying in another room was disturbed by staff entering her room without permission at around 7/8am. My 7 year old autistic son was asked if he had been mischievous (he had not) by a member of staff which led to a meltdown as he thought he had done something wrong. My 12 year old son was told he could not sit down at a table next to our family at breakfast as it was needed despite lots of tables being empty and barely any guests being around. He was ushered towards the sofas to eat. The experience and service was the worst ever received at a premier inn hotel having stayed at a fair few over the years. There were some members of staff who were friendly and helpful, but unfortunately a couple of staff ruined the experience completely.
- toyosiadeduro (10/5): Will be back! - Arrived as I had an issue with my home. Front desk were very helpful. I’m a sweaty guy and it was a hot day. The A/C wasn’t particularly cold so visited them to ask for assistance and they helped really quick. They also assisted with parking too as I was unaware where to go to fulfil the parking.
- shxlbxx (8/5): Good - Very clean and comfortable beds. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would’ve love to give this a 5 star but only downside was the rooms was very very hot - we did have a desk fan, but was still hot inside the room. Although I would visit again
- Rosieg30 (6/5): Needs to lift its game - Stayed for 3 nights in Premier Plus room. Room was standard fare but so unbearably hot and stuffy. No air con but also no ventilation. It was awful.
We had one meal in the restaurant and all 4 meals were inedible. Not good, terrible presentation and all tasted bad or were tasteless.
Good points were location and staff were cheery.
- A9318WXmarcusl (8/5): predictably good - Exactly as described, with very pleasant staff and a good standard of facilities. The hotel was good value and the restaurant decent and well served.
- StuRuthJensen (2/5): Hotter than hell! Avoid! - Room was 30c+ all night even though outside temperature was no more than 22c. Provided fans did nothing but move hot air and windows don’t open for your “security” truly the worst stay in any hotel. Staff were no excitant and car park price promise was not met.
- hjs392023 (4/5): Disappointed on this occasion - We’ve stayed 3 times in a Premier Plus room in the last few months. This time was very disappointed with room 219. He had a horrible smoke smell that just hung in the air and was very unpleasant. The toilet seat was fitted wonky and the shower screen leaked all over the floor
- 36abbiet (4/5): Room was ridiculous hot! - Our stay in this hotel was terrible, we came down this way as we used the spa opposite which was a lovely day out to come back to our room and have to try and sleep in what felt like a sauna, there was no working aircon they had 2 fans in the room which I assume is because they knew the room was hot. 1 fan did not work and the fan that did work was so bad it didn’t even blow my hair. The window only opened about 2 inches and because of the windows sill it didn’t bring any air to the room. The room got up to 30 degrees and it was only 18 outside. The both of us woke up constantly because of the heat. Such a shame but have to rate it so low as you use premier inns to sleep and that’s something we couldn’t do.
- tandb36 (10/5): Good nights sleep - Visited for a friday night, place was very comfortable which was mainly due to a very efficient air con unit.
Usual premier inn facilities but service was very good on reception
- F1118UXmariep (2/5): Avoid this hotel until renovations are complete and AC is installed. - The hotel had no AC and the temperature of the room was unbearable and we were on the 3rd floor, so heat rises. The room was clearly under construction, missing surfaces and the bath was dirty. i would not recommend or stay here again. Avoid this hotel until renovations are complete and AC is installed.
- L3360ASkenl (10/5): Premier Inn Lovely hotel in Grass Essex - Everything was excellent. The new refurbished rooms are amazing well done Premier Inn Thurrock East. Essex
The staff are excellent, very knowledgeable, helpful and respectful likewise with the restaurant opposite 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
- F298YIimrana (10/5): Work trip - A great refurbished room! I was informed, I'm the first staying in this room since refurbishment. Excellent and pleasant customer service at reception and really helpful. Thank you
- Meander787733 (2/5): No aircon - Our room was in the annexe, unfortunately it was during a recent warm period and the room thermometer read 29o.
There is no air con, instead a large fan is provided but all this did was recirculate hot air. Worse you could only open the window 1-2 inches - not enough to let air in. We felt very suffocated. So much so we spent half the night in the car just to cool off. Staff were great but there was little they could do to help. Really not fit for purpose and wouldn’t recommend it during warm weather.
