Guest Reviews
- julie (8/5): - Staff were pleasant, good location.
- Stephen (10/5): - Pub on site was convenient and breakfast buffet was great
- Y9850ZRjuliec (6/5): Good hotel - management need to arrange sufficient staff - Myself and my husband booked a 2 night stay at the Premier Inn as we have family in the area.
The hotel room was clean and adequately equipped for our needs and we have stayed here on several occasions.
Unfortunately the hotel was understaffed and I felt very sorry for the staff as they were overwhelmed with working on the reception, bar and restaurant. I understand that the Management knew that it would be a busy weekend but failed to arrange sufficient staff.
I cannot fault the staff, who all retained their composure dealing the pressure they were under. Well done to all of them who worked on Friday evening and Saturday morning (28th and 29th Nov).
A note for the manager - to ensure there are enough staff when they know there are a lot of rooms booked to the Premier Inn.
- LibsJanet (10/5): Nice - Lovely hotel 💜 I stayed in three different Premier Inns this week, and Plymouth’s was the best! Lovely staff and clean rooms. My twin room felt huge!
- carolrF2848QF (10/5): Good food, excellent service and good value for money - Never disappoints, great service, clean hotel, lovely staff and good value for money. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.
- PaulaBassett01 (10/5): Absolutely wonderful hotel and staff! - First time staying in Derrys Cross. Me and my daughter went to the theatre which is literally a stones throw away. Check in was easy, the room was beautiful and clean, the shower was amazing. I cant compliment the staff enough they were all really friendly and helpful, even when my daughter lost the key card. The manager was really kind to her. We will definitely be back. Thank you soooooo much! Oh and the breakfast was wonderful! My daughter ate free too, added bonus!
- I7906YPalexl (10/5): Charlie - duty manager - superb! - Charlie the duty manager was superb! Really helpful advice on parking for security and also helping us find the best room for our family needs (cot etc). Charlie - if we may say - was a credit to Premier Inn and the hotel.
Really grateful.
Best - Lee family
- dylanbM8570LB (10/5): Holiday for partners 21st - Very good service room was perfect hospitality is incredibly and staff are very helpful and friendly 10/10 always come to derrys Cross highly recommended
- N6958RWphilp (10/5): Good stay 👍 - Good location, nice room, comfy bed .
Food good Reg and Mash were excellent at the bar and restaurant.... Lovely people 😊
- 773richa (10/5): Excellent service - Excellent service from Mash and regiesta couldn't do enough for us. Food was excellent. Just what is needed whilst away on business
- 533maza (10/5): Great customer service from manager Mash - My experience in this premier inn in Plymouth city Center has been 5 out of 5! Mash the manager has been amazing and really helpful. Great customer service from Mash and truly made my stay more comfortable. This is my second visit to this hotel and that’s solely because of manager Mash. I will be returning again.
- Q7950HIelainek (10/5): Excellent Customer Service - Mash was friendly, professional and attentive despite the hotel being short of staff. The food was delicious! The rooms are large and well maintained.
- garyhV1922FU (8/5): Dated but clean and comfortable - On the whole an enjoyable experience rooms clean and comfortable breakfast ample the only downside was in the bar area the lad working the bar could probably do with a hand as at one point he was serving drink serving food doing reception and tending to customer needs but the whole time staying polite and professional which I personally think was a credit to him I think his name was mash.
- G8371RPkimm (10/5): Great staff going above and beyond. In particular Mash! - On the first night of stay we went down for dinner and a drink. It was a busy evening with few staff working. Mash was very friendly and attentive to everyone and despite being busy did everything to make sure mum and I had everything we needed. He was friendly, kind and caring. Such a lovely man! Absolute star
- C1582LFjennyg (10/5): Dining - Mash was very good with explaining changes to the menu and was apologetic when there was something wrong. He was by himself and was run off his feet.
- sambM7207KJ (8/5): Dining out mid week - Mash was so accommodating when dining at restaurant. He was apologetic when things went wrong with food order and made sure we were satisfied with the outcome. He was contented with our stay and wanted us to feel we could come back again feeling reassured. Thank u Mash. 😀
- MHKisbee (10/5): Weekend break to see family. - Great location, easy parking,
Friendly staff with a warm welcome.
Comfortable bed and nice shower.
Good choice of food options.
- carlsV511GV (10/5): A very pleasant stay, amazing staff. - Hotel situated very central to Plymouths center!
Staff have very helpful, with all my requests.
Mash the DM has helped me on numerous occasions, as have Caitlyn, and Lily!
I stay in premiere inns across the country nearly the entire year for work, and this has to be one of the best ive stayed in! Rooms are spotless and very well maintained.
- Navigate52491782060 (10/5): Peaceful - Attending for the university open day. Nice view of the Christmas lights around the theatre royal yet peaceful and quiet to sleep. Literally zero noise from the busy road. Super easy check in. Very pleased.
- ateequey (10/5): Best hotel to stay in Peterborough - Been few times to Peterborough and stayed for the first time. Really nice and tidy rooms. Service is great. Will be booking again next time
- kaylD5394ZW (10/5): Stay and evening meal. - We stayed and had our evening meal at the Derry's Cross hotel.
We was served our evening meal by Mash and Caitlin and we couldn't of asked for anyone better. They were super helpful, made us aware of the meal deals and was super attentive to us all. Made us feel welcome, at ease and happy.
Thank you very much.
- harveyt904 (10/5): 1. “Exceptional Service at Premier Inn Hampton” 2. “A Wonderful Stay Thanks to Ghizzy and Martyna!” 3. “Top-Notch Hospit - I had an excellent stay at the Premier Inn in Hampton. From the moment I arrived, the service was warm, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. I especially want to highlight Ghizzy and Martyna, who went above and beyond to make my visit comfortable.
Both were incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional. Whether it was helping with check-in, offering local recommendations, or simply greeting guests with a smile, they truly elevated the experience. It’s rare to find staff who make you feel so well looked after, and they absolutely did.
The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet—everything you’d hope for after a long day. The hotel’s location is convenient, and the overall atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant.
I would highly recommend staying here, and huge thanks again to Ghizzy and Martyna for their outstanding service. I’ll definitely be returning!
- nigelmY6044WX (10/5): Secure and quiet accomodation - You can always rely on Premier Inn to provide a secure quiet restful nights sleep. Location and free parking are an additional bonus, making the experience good value for money.
- S8403FEkarenm (10/5): Excellent place to stay - I have stayed in this premier inn many of times the rooms are lovely and clean beds are very comfortable.
The staff are very friendly and very helpful one lady in particular Agnes always smiling and always very polite
Its also very central walking distance to anywhere you need to go
- Touristy9876 (8/5): Nice place - Clean room, asked for ground floor when we checked in and they managed to arrange it. We didn't eat in the beefeater because we thought it was a bit expensive. Not too far away from local town
- CarsMaiden (6/5): Could be way better - Very old and very tired. No lift and pot luck whether you will get to stay in the main building or have to cross the car park to another building. Great fun going to breakfast in the rain.
Talking of, the breakfast was woeful. The only reason we chose the Premier Inn over the McDonalds (a stones throw away) was because of the renowned Premier Inn hot buffet. Well this one doesn’t do buffet. They cook to order and although they claim it’s unlimited I felt a nuisance even asking once so certainly wouldn’t ask for seconds. I attach a photo of what I got and this was asking for the bacon well done. It was still oinking. Staff (at all points of contact not just at breakfast) seemed like they had the weight of the world on their shoulders.
The continental part of breakfast was probably worth the money if you just paid for that as a good selection.
The coffee was the pits & the toaster took so long it was practically lunchtime by the time it popped up.
No phone reception in room (we were both on different networks) and the wi-fi although fine for checking emails was terrible for streaming.
The place just looked completely run down.
The pros are it has a lot 24 hour McDonalds & M&S Food a minutes walk away. The bed was LOVELY & the room was clean. Kettle provided with plenty of tea and instant coffee. The walk into town would take about 15-20 minutes or a 5 minute car journey.
The cons are all listed above. Wouldn’t stay here again. Needs complete overhaul.
- T1047PQclaireh (10/5): A really relaxing sleep - I stayed at the Petersfield hotel as I had a wedding in the area , as the wedding was at 12.45 I was unable to check in until the evening which was not an issue for the person at the reception , we got checked in quickly and then was able to enjoy a good nights sleep .
The bed was very comfortable even though I did find the pillows too hard but even though I knew they were available I didn’t exchange them for the softer option .
After a good lay in we were able to still make breakfast as they don’t finish serving until 10:30, as I have a gluten and dairy free intolerance I informed our waiter who explained about the intolerance / allergies book which listed all ingredients in all of the items available for breakfast , I found this book extremely helpful when deciding what to eat , I was so impressed as there was G/F muesli , bread and a D/F milk option that I could enjoy . I orderd a cooked breakfast which was fresh and delicious.
- Dale01487 (2/5): Hotel fine, restaurant appalling - Service in the restaurant, particularly the bar was dire! The breakfast was cold and the bacon dried up. I had a meeting to attend shorly afterwards so did not have the time to complain but I have now complete their survey.
- poppys491 (10/5): Great - All the food cooked by Angnes was very nice, especially the chicken tikka skewers! Caitlyn was lovely when she served us.
- finnj918 (10/5): A Great Premier Inn - The best premier inn we’ve stayed in, staff are consistently great, always helpful and happy to sort out any issues; particularly Caitlin and Mash. They are always amazing to us and it’s a pleasure to see them when staying at Derrys Cross. Thank you for always looking after us!
- jackrJ3362YZ (10/5): Leaving this hotel after 8 months of staying due to job finsihed, 10/10 rating for Adam and all the staff - Very good experience in this hotel being here for 7 months, all the staff are very welcoming and helpful, especially Adam as he’s been the one who has been on the desk at my check in time , anything I’ve asked for or needed he’s instantly delt with it. Feel very welcomed from him and built a good friendship with him,
- Companion39601119097 (10/5): Great stay at premier inn Hampton - Stayed in Peterborough on Halloween night and was booked to the Hampton by my company.
We arrived at the hotel late due to road closures and were absolutely exhausted from our trip and eager to get in bed.
Upon arrival we were greeted by the lovely Sarah, the reception was absolutely spotless and the Halloween decorations were a nice added touch.
Due to Sarah being new she had to call down her colleague Brett to check us in, he was very friendly, polite and checked us in swiftly just as we were hoping for.
The room was as you would expect from a premier inn, clean, spacious and cozy.
Thanks to the premier inn team for a lovely stay and we will certainly see you again If we’re back in Peterborough.
- jadec603 (10/5): Great stay! And the team were absolutely amazing! - We stayed at the Premier Inn Hampton as a family and had such a lovely experience! The reception area was all decorated for the end of Halloween, which was a fantastic touch — the kids absolutely loved it. When we got to our room, we were greeted with a personalised Happy Halloween note, an activity pack, and sweets for the children. Such thoughtful details made our stay extra special. Thank you to the team for making it such a fun and welcoming visit — we’ll definitely be back! 🎃👻
- kathier2021 (10/5): Catching up with friends as this is a very gd location - My welcome at Premier Hampton was lovely, the staff were very friendly & we ended up have a lovely conversation which ended up with us belly laughing,
- nicolafN866LL (2/5): Disappointing - tired and tatty! - Rooms are grubby, towels missing. carpets smells and was covered up by overpowering air freshener. Constant buzzing in the room but no AC so not sure what was causing this.
Restaurant was chaos at breakfast - children (most under 8) were allowed to go and self serve without an adult, hence food was handled several times by children before being left for the next unlucky person! Children were running around the breakfast run - I am aware this mainly sits with the parents, however the hotel need to ensure rules and safety are followed as people were walking around with hot drinks and food while dodging children running around.
I would not recommend this Premier Inn and I have stayed in many without any concerns.
- V4745URashleyb (10/5): Wedding - Stayed here for a wedding at old thorns with my partner. We had a good stay, rooms are clean, but dated. The staff we saw were always nice and happy to help us. Will stay again if in the area
- 910gazp (10/5): Brilliant place to stay probs the best I've stayed in a long time - Had a good experience down here great staff absolutely sound especially debs on the counter lovely lass any problems she sorts the job right out cant complain what so ever
- D4935EMtoma (10/5): Good spot this very handy location - Yes I like this hotel it has room's on the ground floor necessary for me I cannot manage stairs.Car parking is free but you must login to qualify this is a new Requirement. On the Perifery of the Hotel car park there is a Large Diesel Generator which starts and stop's all night.Anyone who is a very Light sleeper may find this annoying.
- Trek62060314301 (10/5): Dear, cute receptionist Csilla, thank you for everything. - We were there with my family on October 16th and 17th. The lady at the evening reception on the 17th was very nice and helped us a lot. If I remember correctly her name was Csilla. We will stay here again next time thanks to her.
- L601JLmartins (10/5): I could not ask for better this is home from home - Hi all I stay at this premier inn every weekend due to my work and I have stayed at a lot of premiers over the years and I can honestly say this is the best experience I’ve had at one the staff no the team here are the best I’ve had the pleasure of meeting marten and giz are amazing managers and there is nothing that they wouldn’t do to make your stay amazing if it is possible to fix the team will most certainly go above and beyond to make it possible so write from the managers right down to the cleaners this premier is the number one place to stay 100% the best for me
- G568JRzoel (10/5): Great stay, warm welcome, comfortable room. - Lovely stay, arrived late, night staff were amazing, Mo at reception sorted us out. Would stay here again, comfortable bed, TV was adequate, nice powerful shower.
- K7110LSalexandral (10/5): excellent - My experience at premier inn was one of the best, Ghizzy and Martyna were brilliant, thez looked after my kids and gave them treats which made them very happy, i will recommend premier inn to my friends and family.
- L4220OGdarrenw (10/5): Working away - We stayed at Peterborough ( Hampton ) all the staff were very friendly and helpful (especially Jade 5* plus ) The rooms and the hotel are spotless and like I say the staff were amazing especially Jade
- danielfB1683OC (10/5): Premier in debs 1010 - Had a wonderful stay at premier inn Petersfield staff have been wonderful especially debs helping us with rooms and food booking she is always happy and smiley
- H5692GZdaniels (10/5): Great customer service - Had a great experience at this premier inn debs at customer service was very helpful I will definitely be staying here again
- tanyac3006 (10/5): Lovely welcome and stay here - Reception staff here are lovely. So welcoming and helpful. Rooms are good and clean and restaurant next door also fab!
Hotel team also very helpful when we lost something. Definitely recommend this hotel
- Hellim86 (4/5): Below average - Too loud to sleep, constant stomping and banging noises prevented me from getting a decent night's sleep.
Wi-fi pitifully slow.
- W8147IRru (4/5): Let down by a few employees - Stayed for a long time due to work (27 days) whenever you need / want anything from reception be prepared to wait a long long while the buzzer is pointless and won'tbotheraskingbar staff. Breakfast ok but not buffet only 1 rude waitress who won't do any puts you on a dirty table with dirty tissues and cutlery (tattoos ) only gave this place 2 star because of the cleaners who couldn't do enough the rest are not great .wifi is terrible (and apparently it was just upgraded) and phone signal is pretty rubbish too. Been worst but also been to a lot better
- X9428QRmateuszs (10/5): great hotel - I would highly recommend this place! The hotel staff was incredibly polite and friendly, making the whole experience welcoming. My room was spotless and well-maintained, exceeding my expectations. The hotel itself is in a great location, close to everything I needed. I will definitely be coming back again!
- B8178EEmarkp (10/5): Excellent thanks - Excellent service friendly staff definitely come back rooms very clean big car park good location thanks very nice yes
- wendyheal (10/5): Great Family weekend stay - Fantastic hotel. Booked as it’s location was central to our weekend activities. Huge hotel, clean and spacious rooms. Brewers Fayre restaurant next door with fantastic breakfast options - we all loved it.
Hotel lobby has a sweet cart - free and you can help yourself to bottled water, fruit shoots, Haribos and crisps - such a great touch and very welcomed after a long drive - thank you.
We loved the 80s themed corner with inflatable guitars & microphones etc, again, a really nice touch.
We recommend this hotel, great for families and we would stay here again.
- 499eganp (2/5): Not Good - Dirty bathroom. Faulty and very noisy air con. We cancelled our 2nd day as little sleep on the 1st day. The room was in severe need of refurbishment.
- kingkK224HH (10/5): Very nice stuff and free sweets and chocolates at the reception very comfortable bed. - Very comfortable bed and really nice stuff nothing could have made our stay better. Room was very quite, breakfast was nice
- AndrewG1965 (10/5): Business Trip - Well Looked After - Lovely stay, from the moment we walked in as a large business group. Well looked after and super steak! Debs on the front desk was excellent and calm.
- H4584ZGpaule (10/5): Debs the receptionist - Been staying here for the last week, today one of my work colleagues bookings had been cancelled, but DEBS behind reception went above and beyond to sort this mistake out,top lady and the Beefeater staff are always pleasant and nothings ever to much,I would stay here again if working in this area.
- Z2191VIjackb (10/5): Great great great place - I have to say, this premier inn is by far superior to any I've stayed in. Debs is amazing. Real asset. Clean rooms, good food and service all round.
- Jodieroberts (8/5): Great Location - Overall, I would recommend this hotel ! The location is great, plenty of parking, there is a McDonalds and M&S food petrol station on site and a Beefeater Pub. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean overall, although could do with some cobwebs removed in the finer detail. The bed was clean and comfortable !! The reason I have given 4 stars instead of 5 , is due to the finer details and the fact that it was very loud at 6am, which disturbed my sleep. I understand that noise can always be an issue, but this was ridiculously early. Other than that, I highly recommend !
- 97elenacameliam (2/5): Do not book this hotel, find an alternative - Rooms looked and smelled disgusting. Customer service is non existent and reception staff talk to you like they’re doing you a favour checking you in and not happy to help. An I don’t give a monkey attitude. Breakfast was okay but bring your own mug for tea/ coffee as theirs are disgusting. First and part time booking this hotel for sure.
- L352GCbobc (2/5): Beefeater Shut at 9 ?! - 12 of us booked hotel for a Sunday night , turned up just after 9 to pop to the Beefeater to find it was closing for food and drink ?!
Multiple families and singles turned up looking to eat - all went down to Weatherspoons
- jakesK5486LZ (10/5): Stayed for work - Debs on the reception was very helpful and looked after me. Couldnt ask for anymore from her. Ive stayed here a few times now and she always very nice
- Richard (10/5): - Nice reception staff, clean room. Wifi is weak, room is basic, no A/C. OK for a one night sleep.
- twinmummy1967 (6/5): Decent budget hotel. Skip the breakfast. - Perfectly good hotel and met our needs because of its location.
Rooms are basic but clean, lovely comfortable bed and lots of parking.
The big downside is the breakfast. Sad looking continental and horrible cooked. Save the £10.99 and go to the McDonald’s across the road.
- davideY9787KH (8/5): Much needed a few days break - We have dated at many premier inns in the past including this one at petersfield. We found the staff were very friendly.
The beds as usual were very comfortable and clean. The air conditioning was very welcoming due to the hot weather that we had. The rooms though are in need of an overhaul as they are now very dated. Overall we had a good time, I just hope that a chamberhand found my phone charger and handed it in we were in room 121.
