Guest Reviews
- 237janinew (4/5): Great room, everything else let us down - Our room was not ready when we arrived around 3.30pm. There was a queue and we discovered they were short staffed and our rooms were not cleaned. It was suggested we wait in the new restaurant. We had to wait til 5pm for the room to be ready! The coffee, we feel should have been complimentary after this wait. We had less time to get ready for dinner at 6pm, as we were out to an event at 7 30pm. We had to wait nearly 45 mins for four little plates to arrive. Then there were issues with the til.
The staff did their best, but felt there wasn't enough of them overall. Hopefully the teething problems will diffuse with time.
The room was great and we slept well 😃
- 103hazelp (10/5): Great Hotel - The hotel was easy to find straight off the motorway. The receptionist was lovely and the room, even though quite a walk, was lovely. We also had breakfast which was excellent
- Brady02 (8/5): Good stay - Came here with family as we were having a family gathering at a restaurant near by. There was issues with staff sorting rooms out so we didn’t get in our room until 4:00pm or so. But they opened the restaurant so we can have a drink. Our room was ready during our drinks which we managed to check in. Comfy beds as usual. Would go again if in area.
- davej423 (6/5): Never again! - My wife and I have stayed in this Premier several times before and enjoyed it, which is why we booked again. On arrival at the car park it looked just the same except for some obvious building work going on. Signing in was easy and the room was the usual Premier quality. So everything was much as expected so far. We then tried to book dinner to include our son-in-law and grandson which was the only reason we had come to Tewkesbury. We were informed that only residents were allowed to eat in the restaurant!! After much pleading it was agreed that an exception would be made and our get-together could go ahead. However, when we entered the restaurant, the need for the new ruling became obvious; what once had been a lovely, homely pub-style restaurant that could accommodate 300+ customers had become a very plain canteen with 56 covers.
It appears that this is happening at many other Premier Inns. Apparently the reason is to sacrifice eating space to contruct more rooms i.e. attract more customrs but reduce the room to feed them?!
- J5592QArachelw (10/5): Friends trip - Great staff, room and food. Came with a small group of friends and had a great time, rooms were comfortable and warm and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Looking forward to coming back
- N19EEY (6/5): Clean, great staff BUT FREEZING COLD - Stayed here before and the staff that your deal with on face-face basis are great , the food from the restaurant is fantastic and always served quickly by the great staff. Breakfast is always fresh and hot, and Jamie is always on hand to help and is a credit to the hotel..
BUT , the premier inn management must think it’s a cost saving idea to have all the rooms set to 17’c and non controllable in the rooms . I was not the only one complaining about this daft procedure… guess it may save them a few quid in the long run doesn’t help us paying guests on what is the coldest days of the year …
- Uzum54 (8/5): A stay of two halves! - Fabulous greeting by a member of staff. The room was adequate, although every square inch of the room was used, so much so that the hanging space was difficult to get to to hang clothes up and there wasn’t sufficient space to hang much up. The coat hooks were so close to the main door that it was difficult to open and close it without bumping into them. The heating was good as well as refreshments provided. The mattress would have been comfortable but the mattress protector was too small and crumpled up in a heap on the middle of the bed, so the bottom sheet, which wasn’t adequately fitted onto the bed in the first place, was uncomfortable. There was only one hand towel provided and the bath towels were just about big enough. Thankfully we are of small stature! There was plenty of room in the restaurant at breakfast, although it would have been useful for someone to quickly tell us about protocols. Neither toaster was working properly the first day so it took several runs to get the bread toasted. There was a great choice of food which was constantly being replenished. However the sausages were very rusky and soft and the bacon was hard and difficult to chew. Thankfully it was a good location to where we needed to be within the town centre with a convenient, independent car park around the back.
- DaveWorkRail (4/5): Another declining premier inn - avoid the restaurant - Stayed 1 night in November 25.
Good - good central location with free parking options in the off season outside of summer
Bad - check in was slow with only 1 staff member working the restaurant and front desk, room not the cleanest with stained carpets, no free chocolates in premier plus room and none available from reception, evening meal menu very limited, breakfast was poor - no individual yogurts, limited hot teabag selection, hot food is a wait on service with small portions.
Stayed at this hotel previously and given higher ratings but similar to a lot of premier inns, standards are declining with cost cutting measures in the restaurants.
- 633debbym (10/5): Great plot stay - Excellent place to stay, lovely warm room, comfortable bed, easy on line check in, drop card check out, cooked breakfast, great value for money, friendly helpful staff.
- patriciawQ6155YZ (10/5): Great experience as usual - Lovely, warm , clean , comfortable room.
Staff were great, welcoming and helpful.
Comfy bed and extra pillows if needed.
Shower was great, hot and powerful.
- Trishipops (8/5): Lovely tidy hotel and room, just slightly overpriced - Room was immaculate, lovely and quiet. Heard no noise from outside or within the hotel. Location was easy to travel to.
Lovely friendly welcome upon arrival.
Downsides - only one pillow per person and these were exceptionally firm, infact I would say hard.
Felt the room was slightly overpriced as I have stayed in many hotels of the same standard for less, with breakfast included. Premier Inn was charging an extra £17 per person for breakfast.
- wayneh681 (6/5): Restaurant lets the site down - Overall facilities and room were good, for a good nights sleep.
Restaurant and service let the site down, food not great and service slow and not professional.
- O7887OGianh (2/5): Sorry Sir, the restaurant is full! - After 5-6 hours on my drive up to Thirsk, I experienced an exceptionally poor dining service. Made to wait unnecessarily. Felt like my presence was interrupting the staffs time! The place was virtually empty, yet i was told by a young female staff member I couldn't sit to eat until 7.30pm. The restaurant remained 75% empty thereafter, whilst I waited, and even had to ask if I could sit in the restaurant to have a glass of wine whilst I waited. It felt like just those simple things asked were a huge burden to the staff. By the way, they forgot the wine I'd just ordered, so I had to order again. They, in my view - and I truly am NOT a complainer, having owned my own cafe for 5 years and know how things can be when busy - the staff need PROPER training session in service hospitality. CERTAINLY put me off Premier Inn for good, which, as a traveler in my line of work has taken the group off my stay list.
- pullenemmie (4/5): Needs improvement - Closed restaurant and building works going on that we was not informed off till after booking. Hotel is in need of a renovation, broken sockets, marked/scratched walls, rusty bathroom accessories and just dusty dirty corners, windows etc..
- 21blondie (8/5): Friday night away - Clean room a little small compared with other rooms were have stayed in there. No bath which we would of liked, only a shower which was fine.
- 991ClaireB (10/5): Great stay - Great location in Tenby. Close to see, bars, restaurants etc. Smaller and very friendly. Rooms were great - very clean. Staff were incredibly friendly
- P801QTpaulm (10/5): Excellent stay - The Premier Inn Tenby was excellent. Great location with parking next to the building. Friendly staff, great breakfast with a nice choice of cooked food, cereal and fruit along with hot and cold drinks. Would highly recommend staying here.
- 732ameyj (10/5): tenby - we had a wonderful stay..room lovely and clean...staff was very helpful nothing to much trouble...and the breakfast was brilliant..cant wait to go back
- DarrenH425 (10/5): As always with a Premier Inn, a great place to stay for business or pleasure. - I booked for three nights, Julie was at reception, she had our (a colleague of mi e, 2 bookings) booking details ready on arrival so we checked in easily and quickly. The room was as expected from a Premier Inn, clean and tidy, a great place to lay my head at night.
- kirstycE7120ZT (8/5): Lovely welcome at Reception - I am a regular at Tewkesbury Premier Inn and I am always welcomed by Julia on reception with a big smile. I am away from home a lot but Julia makes it bearable and if I ever need anything or have forgotten something, she does her very best to help. Thanks for being a friendly face!
- jayderrr40 (8/5): Another lovely stay - Stayed for 2 nights in a Premier Plus room, its nice having the fridge and coffee machine, but having stayed here on several occasions I noticed these rooms are looking a bit tired, the carpet in our room had marks and stains on especially near the bathroom entrance, my glass had lipstick on, it just feels like it could do with a bit of TLC
I would have liked just a shower in the bathroom, I felt a bit uneasy getting in and out of the bath to use the shower, maybe they will upgrade certain rooms in the future
Ewan was really nice, he welcomed us in and checked us in efficiently
Had a fantastic cooked breakfast, highly recommend, the Chef was really polite and friendly
Cath the manager was lovely, extremely helpful when I needed her assistance
It was another lovely stay and I definitely will be back again
Brilliant location, close to shops
- Daveflano (10/5): Autumn in Tenby - A very comfortable stay, upgraded to superior room. Staff were ver friendly. Only downside was the parking but that is a problem wherever you go in Tenby.
- WM42 (10/5): Fabulous overnight stay - Massive thankyou to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable and to the chef for our absolutely stunning breakfast. Thankyou all so much. Look forward to our next visit.
- N4743SYlucyr (10/5): Good value for money, ideal location and spotless - The location is ideal for spending time in Tenby. The staff were lovely and the room was spotless.
I stayed in an accessible room due to using a wheelchair and there was plenty of space to maneuver. The adjusted height of furniture and furnishings were great and the wet room was ideal with a fold down chair and handrails that could be folded up too so that someone without accessibility needs had space. We didnt hear any noise whilst staying here either. Really good value for money!
There isn't a Permier Inn carpark, however there is a pay and display car park just around the corner that was really well priced (£10 for 24hrs), as well as a multi story a short walk away too.
- H5567VOjohnp (6/5): Computerized systems not working. - Internet advance check in not working.
Tablet check in at reception desk not working.
Reception staff missing.
Therefore you'll need to give extra time to get checked in.
P.s. coffee machine in room not working.
- Q2740LVamandab (10/5): Friendly, welcoming staff - Very helpful and friendly staff. As a lady travelling on my own I felt very safe and comfortable staying here. The room was cleaned to a very high standard and the upkeep of the corridor areas was very good.
- N7241HGlizc (10/5): Premier Inn Thirsk - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Premier Inn Thirsk and we'll be back.
Have stayed there before and always feel at home there.
- HamarWindsor (8/5): Good hotel; would have preferred a different room - Many good things about this hotel, and not being a purpose built hotel, the rooms vary considerably. A “plus” room will be OK, but we found 406 ( and 402,404) avoidable. True, being on the top floor it did have a roof top view, but as you can see from the cover photo, the windows are small ( and are 100% sealed) and make the room appear quite dark.
We would stay here again. Good hotel
- markmX8710ZD (8/5): Expensive - Lovely stay and great staff above and beyond, but the only problem i have is the prices ? Disgustin-
2 x small bottles of coke - £3:50 each
Half a larger -
£5:00
That is absouletly disgusting prices and Premier Inn need to charge this. I wont stay here again paying these prices
- I5933PUjohnb (10/5): A fantastic and relaxing stay! - Location is good for Tewkesbury and the new Outlet stores.
The atmosphere from the Staff was amazing and right at the top of any Premier Inn we have stayed at.
The rooms and all areas were spotless and we felt good value for money.
The “Plus” rooms will help to make this Hotel even better!
The Manager, staff were an absolute credit to the brand, as was the General Manager.
- traceysU2420OA (6/5): Kitchen staff a disaster - If you're just looking for a base then this hotel does the job.
Customer service from the young lad serving in the restaurant was great. However very under resourced for a busy Thursday evening.
Kitchen staff were unfriendly, inexperienced and looked like they hated working there. Dinner was the worse we have experienced ever. Chips were spilt on the food counter where they had missed plates and dumped back on. The garnish was one brown piece of lettuce and hygiene questionable.
Strongly advise you book a table elsewhere.
- tonywhitefs101 (8/5): Great stay race days - Very clean and tidy, comfy bed courteous staff, and super breakfast bar. Easy access into the lovely Market Town of thirsk, with its shops, bars, and eateries. Plenty of parking, great short stay hotel. Great for race days.
- happyholidaygirl62 (10/5): A very good Premier Inn with friendly and helpful staff - We spent 2 nights at Premier Inn Thirsk in August as a celebration of my 70th birthday. We got a warm welcome at reception when we checked in and we were very pleased with our Premier Plus room. We ate both evenings in the Thyme Restaursnt and enjoyed our meals. The staff were very friendly and hard working, especially the lady chef who prepared all the meals singlehanded and was very efficient.
- STUART19_11 (4/5): Premier Inn Thirsk - Good bedrooms but restaurant poor. Did not expect lack of a bar and substandard evening meals especially when there were no other alternative facilities in the immediate area.
- 421phillipkerfoot (10/5): Good hotel - Clean rooms helpful staff near Prescott hill climb and the Cotswolds next to the Porsche Citroen and Isuzu dealers not far from Tewkesbury centre and Morrisons
- 502fionab (10/5): Amazing staff - Really quiet hotel.
Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I have visited many premier inns and staff are indifferent and uninterested in a lot of them. Not here! Great vibe.
Thanks especially to Casey and to Megan.
You deserve an award by the Company!
- E4977AQmb (6/5): Ok-ish - Stayed in room 1....Noisy bathroom fan when light was on ,no hot water in tap/sink,although bath/shower was hot.
Bed comfy enough
- heatherdD1581AQ (10/5): Exceptional staff at the Tenby Premier inn - We have just spent an exceptional 6 day stay at the Premier inn in Tenby. It is brilliantly positioned for the town and for the seafront. No need for a car.
The staff at this premier inn are outstanding. They went out of their way to help at all times with professionalism and great care. I cannot praise them enough.
Thank you so much.
- Jaime10 (8/5): Great location, comfortable stay - Great location minutes from the beach, friendly staff and a comfortable bed. Some of the rooms could do with an update due to overall wear - but in summary a great budget hotel for an overnight stay in one of our favourite places in the world!
- RobTA61 (10/5): The Best Premier Inn - The staff were fantastic and extremely helpful, air conditioning was fab, restaurant lovely and a good choice, the best premier inn we have stayed in, also very helpful with accessible needs. We used the multi storey to park which was easy to walk to and not expensive.
- kevinwI4722JM (2/5): Never again - I do not recommend this hotel having stayed here in July and suffering from food poisoning we stayed on a breakfast and evening meal .
I cannot fault the cleaning of the bedroom/bathroom always spotless.
Whereas the dining room leaves a lot to be desired lack of staff sticky tables not cleaned sufficiently .
Tables stacked high of dirty dishes not cleared away waiting for milk for break fast my poached eggs like bullits not trained how to make poached eggs obviously!!.
No prepared fresh fruit in the bowl just waiting around for replenishment my partner reported my illness to the customer service department who surprisingly found no case to answer food very poor, we have stayed at many Premier inn and this is the worst hotel we have stayed in and we will never stay or recommend this hotel in Thirsk the standards have dropped significantly..
- Paradise10613420034 (10/5): Visiting Cotswolds Designer Outlet Village? Come stay here! - Nikki, Julia and the team here at Premier Inn Tewkesbury couldn’t have looked after me any better! I’ve been staying in the hotel for a month for business and the rooms have always been very clean, beds are very comfy and the staff are all very friendly faces that you can have a conversation with! Will definitely be coming down here again sometime with my partner!
- Sds201 (2/5): Worst experience at a premier inn hotel - Despite paying for early check in and breakfast we were told that our rooms may not be ready for 11am as advertised. We needed access to the room early to get ready for a wedding. We were told that food would not be served in the restaurant until breakfast the next day so my children ate crisps for lunch (the wedding meal wasn’t until mid afternoon). We were woken at 5am by the room above us banging and what sounded like running and jumping around. This continued for 2 hours. My sister who was staying in another room was disturbed by staff entering her room without permission at around 7/8am. My 7 year old autistic son was asked if he had been mischievous (he had not) by a member of staff which led to a meltdown as he thought he had done something wrong. My 12 year old son was told he could not sit down at a table next to our family at breakfast as it was needed despite lots of tables being empty and barely any guests being around. He was ushered towards the sofas to eat. The experience and service was the worst ever received at a premier inn hotel having stayed at a fair few over the years. There were some members of staff who were friendly and helpful, but unfortunately a couple of staff ruined the experience completely.
- Fearless646969 (10/5): Excellent Premier Inn Tenby - A wonderful hotel with an amazing breakfast. The staff were all really Friendly, especially Phoenix who did an amazing job serving me breakfast. I would definietly recommend this hotel for a central stay in Tenby. It is exactly what you wpuld expect from a premier inn
- SashaRutski (10/5): Above and beyond - The welcome was friendly and the premier plus room had everything we needed. My only minor gripes were that the hot water wasn’t hot enough so my bath was tepid and the TV reception was erratic. The reason I gave the hotel 5 stars was the service I received after my departure, I had left my kindle behind and when I phoned to enquire about it the kind lady on reception went to find it and then posted it back to me at no cost to myself. Amazing service and I will definitely stay again in the future. Many thanks!
- 572dawnc (6/5): Ok - Check in was fine, We got reminded there was a complementary breakfast (croissants, fruit, tea coffee) due to the restaurant being closed. Then we arrived at our room. It had been made up for 1 person not 3. The bed our child was sleeping in had no betting on it. The receptionist was very apologetic and said he'd get bedding. I felt guilty as he had a bad back and I insisted I make the bed up which I did. He then had to get more towels as there was 1 hand towel and 1 bath towel, as I said made up for 1 person. We had booked this back in may so they knew there were 3 in the room.
Sleep was ok, room was comfortable and parking adequate.
- shellsl2 (4/5): Worst Premier Inn Stay - Stayed here for the location near Tewkesbury Hospital and the M5, but it was the worst Premier Inn stay I’ve had to date. No air conditioning in 32°C just a dusty, ineffective and loud electric fan, which provided no relief. It was the most unpleasant and uncomfortable night’s sleep. Most of the other guests appeared to be building contractors. Renovations meant no cooked breakfast was available despite the room rate remaining the same. The complimentary “pastries” were dry croissants and pain au chocolat in plastic bags, with no availability of cold drinks which was especially disappointing given the heat.
Many parking spaces are taken by construction workers or reduced by the building work, disabled spaces are far from the entrance to the reception. Room had paint peeling off the walls, mould and only one bath towel per person. Shower is not a walk in shower but over the bath, so some disabled guests may not be able to use it, my mother could not. No fridge with cold drinks or to store drinks. Complimentary bottled water would have been a welcome gesture considering how hot the room was.
Overall, hot, uncomfortable, noisy and in a very tired condition. Would not recommend staying here and should be closed until construction work is complete, or at least be offered at a reduced rate.
- andybluebird (10/5): Excellent customer service - Overnight stay to visit new designer outlet. The outlet was underwhelming however the service received from Nicky was outstanding, really going the extra mile for her customers. We’d received an email that restaurant was closed & contacted the hotel. Spoke with Nicky & she arranged for us to have a welcome gift in our room & also as I’ve recently had a knee replacement operation she ensured that we were on the ground floor. Thank you so much for your help
- denisecV8661EX (4/5): Don’t bother - Awful,… informed by Inn that restaurant and bar were closed after the 14day cancellation period.. then had rude emails regarding it. We were Offered a cold breakfast (fruit and pastry),and went down to reception at 7.45am.. to find only 4 pastry left and 2 bananas.. joy!! Had to pay if we wanted cereal or juice. Room was dirty, and receptionist wasn’t welcoming on arrival, departure was absolutely lovely though x
- morgeng587 (10/5): Lovely staff & stay - Lovely staff and a quick, easy check-in. Everything was spotless. A big thank you to Nicky for the personal touch and for making our children smile. We’re grateful to the whole team — we had a wonderful stay!
- Rosieg30 (6/5): Needs to lift its game - Stayed for 3 nights in Premier Plus room. Room was standard fare but so unbearably hot and stuffy. No air con but also no ventilation. It was awful.
We had one meal in the restaurant and all 4 meals were inedible. Not good, terrible presentation and all tasted bad or were tasteless.
Good points were location and staff were cheery.
- Shehar (8/5): The Staff are the stars - Considering the on going refurbishment of the restaurant the hotel ran as usual. Venturing into Tewkesbury,we explored the lovely town and two excellent restaurants, a real plus.
The staff were friendly and efficient and deserve credit for the difficult job they are doing.
- A9318WXmarcusl (8/5): predictably good - Exactly as described, with very pleasant staff and a good standard of facilities. The hotel was good value and the restaurant decent and well served.
- seamusogorman (8/5): Convenient, clean and comfortable - This was a stop over on route to Plymouth. Great location just off the M5.
We have stayed here previously and it is a clean and comfortable place to stay.
Unfortunately the restaurant is under renovation and we found this visit noisy in the morning.
We would be happy to stay again.
- NorthStar03882748312 (10/5): Tenby lovely midweek break - Comfortable stay in a central position with friendly helpful staff enjoyable midweek break. We were able to leave our bags locked away and puck them up as we were leaving
- Freedom744929 (10/5): The Young Ladies on Reception - I didn’t actually stay at the hotel.
On 30th July I broke down in my work van. I managed to get it fixed but desperately needed some water to get moving again. I managed to walk to the Premier Inn through a thunderstorm arriving in reception looking a touch damp. The ladies on reception were more than happy to fill my 2 water bottles and also insisted on giving me a towel to dry myself off with.
A big thank you to Premier Inn, but more importantly to the 2 ladies on reception who showed sympathy that I haven’t experienced in quite some time.
- hjs392023 (4/5): Disappointed on this occasion - We’ve stayed 3 times in a Premier Plus room in the last few months. This time was very disappointed with room 219. He had a horrible smoke smell that just hung in the air and was very unpleasant. The toilet seat was fitted wonky and the shower screen leaked all over the floor
- Y9964AOkevinl (8/5): Good night sleep in Tenby - Few days in Tenby with friends. We had booked Premier Inn Tenby, clean, comfortable, such a comfortable bed. We did book breakfast too and pleasantly surprised. I had phoned hotel day before we travelled asking for a fan in my room to which when I booked in a fan was in my room, thankyou!
- tandb36 (10/5): Good nights sleep - Visited for a friday night, place was very comfortable which was mainly due to a very efficient air con unit.
Usual premier inn facilities but service was very good on reception
- chriscM8994SN (2/5): I got clean and there were no ants m - I got clean and there were no ants.
Beyond that it was a hideous experience. The receptionist was disinterested, the room was far too hot and the "complimentary breakfast" was so awful I walked away.
My friends and I had been performing at the Tewkesbury Medieval Festival and don't ask much after 3 days camping but booked the Premier Inn because of the restaurant. We were informed a week in advance that this would be closed. This was far too late to book anywhere else.
Having stayed in this hotel for the last 5 years, we won't be doing so again.
