Guest Reviews
- Rozenn (8/5): - Personnel agréable. Hôtel bien placé. Consigne possible.
- ALAIN (4/5): - Chambre à trois lits reservee, chambre à 1 grand lit obtenue.
Personnel d’accueil glacial.
Service minimum (mais Noel…)
- MrsDBEssex (10/5): Top Premier Inn - Overall a great stay, room was lovely, clean, comfortable and had a lovely view. We are in the restaurant for our evening meal and breakfast and was happy with both.
- papaver1 (10/5): Very comfortable - We stayed in a Premier Plus accessible room for two nights while visiting family and were very comfortable. There was a fridge, Nespresso machine, and an armchair and foot stool as well as a huge bed. The bathroom was huge and the bath had low sides and loads of safety handles which was what we needed. The only disadvantage was the shower curtain - I find some water always goes through the gap and onto the floor, and hate hows the curtain sticks to you! We didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening but did enjoy two very good breakfasts. We didn't have time for any sightseeing or shopping but the hotel is in a really central position if that's what you've come to Jersey for.
- X9326UWmarkf (10/5): ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lovely Stay – Clean, Comfortable & Great Service - Lovely Stay – Clean, Comfortable & Great Service
Stayed here recently and was really impressed. The room was lovely and exceptionally clean, with a very comfortable bed that made for a great night’s sleep.
The menu had plenty of good options, and everything we tried was well-presented and tasty.
A special thank you to Lauren, who was always very attentive, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Her customer service really stood out and made the experience even better.
Overall, a great stay and would happily return. Highly recommended!
- gregrJ8384MD (10/5): Premier inn north - Lovely staff clean friendly inviroment

Bee angel lesley all wonderful and helpful during my stay. Good food too
- liamwK4964HD (10/5): Premier Inn north - Nice & clean rooms, lovely staff. Lauren, Abbie, Helen and Bee were great to get along with. Leo cooked the food to perfection.
Great place to stay
- peterhK5270OT (4/5): not good - Really surprised how bad this was
Room tired bed hard pillows flat , bathroom extractor fan full of dust and not working
Evening meal service very slow Morning breakfast service all over the place missing food items from the full breakfast menu dirty cups underwhelming choice on the continental selection,
No lifts in our section of the hotel
£14 pound charge for overnight parking !!
- O3895UDjb (10/5): Premier Inn Jersey - Wonderful member of staff what a credit - During my stay at the Premier Inn, from check-in to departure, the Duty Manager — Mario (I believe) — was outstanding. He was consistently helpful, cheerful, and exceptionally courteous throughout my visit.
Staff members like him truly elevate the guest experience. He is an absolute credit to the team.
- Flyer718612 (10/5): A friendly and comfortable place to stay - We found this place to have very friendly and helpful staff, it's clean, comfortable, ideally situated for the town, car park is small but there are lots of nearby places to park.
Couldn't fault the restaurant, food was excellent, good prices and lovely staff creating a homely atmosphere.
We've stayed at many places in Kendal but the premier inn is somewhere we will stay again.
- A7569JSmartinw (6/5): mini break away - overall the experience of jersey was lovely, the room and some of the staff were very polite and helpful my only reason for 3/5 is due to us having a early flight on our last morning ( of which was changed by easyjet ) meant we had already paid for breakfast but was denied any cold food as we had to leave at 6am and the breakfast was already laid out ready for 630am. the morning breakfast staff were very unhelpful.
- Stephenbsa60 (10/5): Lovely place - My favourite Premier Inn. Rooms are amazingly clean, all team are friendly and always happy! Food here is always good too. Generally a lovely hotel where nothing is too much. Booked my next stay already!
- joannesG3572AL (4/5): Disappointing weekend - We had no heating in the room. Spoke to reception on 1st night. They couldn't rectify it. They just offered a free breakfast. They told us maintenance would sort it the following day. When we returned the following evening around 9pm ish. It still hadn't been rectified the room was still very cold. Yet again my husband went to reception where he was told maintenance don't work weekends. The receptionist then offered another room or we could have heaters
- 637andyt (4/5): Room issues, falls well short of corporate minimum standards - Kendal Premier Plus rooms 224 x generally very worn with little sign of ongoing maintenance, tv not working, towel door hooks pulled off wall etc. room 225, well where to start…carpets stained and dirty, I kept my shoes on. Comfy room chair missing, just a small foot stall in corner of the room, desk chair missing, had been replaced with a very old, stains black office chair, presumably from the hotel reception are. Generally a very very tired room. I soon realised why there were signs of long term black mold around the shower tray, the bathroom extractor fan was 90% locked by fluff and dusk, I removed a lot from the extractor so at least the damp air was being removed,
(Pic attached after my cleaning) not something I would expect to need to do. That bed, very surprisingly for Premier Inn, was not the best. Generally maintenance seem to be a very big ongoing issue with this hotel. We were not by any means the only people with problems.
Though I must say that the 2 staff members, who were covering the restaurant, reception and the whole hotel were excellent and very hard working, it’s a shame they were so let down by their corporation employer.
I have in the last year stayed at close to a dozen Premier Inns across the Uk. This hotel rooms were most definitely NOT up to the basic standards of the Premier Inns corporate standards, and as confirmed by the hotel staff not fit to rent…. Notes to this has been added by the hotel staff onto their company computer system.
Line most British people, I really don’t like to complain, but this needed to be said…..
I’m keenly awaiting a response from Premier Inn he’d office, but I won’t hold my breath.
- 965andrewf (10/5): excellent accomodation - Premier Inn Plus rooms are absolutely brilliant, lovely and comforatble, quiet and a great nights sleep to be had. I stayed 2 nights, 1 in a premier plus room and 1 in a standard double, and both were very nice indeed, in fact this is one of the better premier inns that i have stayed at and i have stayed at many over the years. the only thing i would say, is that it could be signed better, as in the dark it is very difficult to see the sign, but if anyone arrives after dark, the entrance is not far after the 30MPH sign. Car parking is ample
- Urbanbridesmaid (8/5): Central Hotel, clean and not bad breakfast - Very good stay. Fairly cheap in comparison to other local hotels. Great location in the middle of everything. Easy to check out, just drop your room key card in a box.
Room was clean. Would have preferred a shower, as the bath was a bit steep to climb out off.
However as you have to ask reception to have your room cleaned, it would be nice to provide more plastic bags for you to bag up your rubbish to leave outside the room.
Breakfast was nice (available M-F 6.30-10.30 S-S 7.00-11.00), however a few items not available some mornings (bananas, hot chocolate and pancakes). It was easy even to upgrade one night to have dinner (cheaper than eating out around the area).
Wifi was terrible, you have to upgrade for £5 a day if not in Premier Plus room. Room was a little stuffy without air con on.
Only realised after stay that the Premier Plus rooms have better Wifi and a fridge. However, unsure if the family rooms are available as a Premier Plus.
- G4729WNcraigg (10/5): LEAH 5* - Leah is probably the best premier inn employee I have come across, another level of excellence! And I stay in a PI 4 days a week !!!
Leah, a pleasure!!
- F8162HHroyr (2/5): Kendel awful awful awful 😞 - Arrived with no one on desk. I had to hunt around pub for reception staff. She said use desk button which was up high and no sign on desk to say ring bell. Had night of people stomping upstairs so very broken sleep. I thought ok nice break fast to look forward to but no. Only 2 eggs and 2 hash browns out. Stood for 15 mins with a plate in my hand . Restaurant was not even busy. Mess everywhere. Bar filled with dirty food plates . Hash browns on the door. I told staff who did not tidy but just walked past mess. Was asked to sit down and they will give me a shout. 15 mins later still no word. Eventually got some hot food and when leaving still hash browns left on floor need food cart and lots of dirty table and plates everywhere. After this room key stopped working.... Rang complaints line we can give you a 10 pound refund on your £120 stay........ Don't think I'll every recommend to anyone ever again
- spurs42 (10/5): Very pleasant - ust now on Google
We arrived at 21:20 to a young lady Abbie with all the noise that was going on with guests Abbie was so calm & helpful and approachable she had arranged food for us although the kitchen was closing and also served us the next morning with a smile .
Lovely to be looked after will return again .
- C8346MAcarolyns (10/5): Great place to stay - Great location. Plenty of restaueants around. 5 minute walk to the bus station. Room good what is expected from a premier inn. Clean. Only negative room could have had a 2 seeter sofa in to sit on. Plenty of room for one. Great shops around you. Very quiet at night. Had good night sleeps. Stayed for 7 nights and would highly recommend staying here
- Departure61502120253 (10/5): Lovely long weekend - We stayed here for a long weekend and were very happy it was a perfect location and the staff were very helpful and friendly and we would go back .
- MrsSHM (8/5): Basic - We were in a basic room, number 226 and you get what you pay for. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. This room looks onto the middle of the building which made it very dark and you could not open the window so was very stuffy. Air con made the room freezing. The toilet paper and holder would not have been out of place in a public toilet and if you want your room cleaned you have to ask. As we were only staying for three nights and were out the majority of the time we did not bother but we thought that at least the teas, coffees, toilet roll and towels would have been topped up every day. That is not much to ask for paying customers. We didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. Gentleman that checked us in was friendly. Reception unmanned when we left at 12pm so we just left the key. We would not stay again.
- C7706CSsusanb (10/5): Customer service - Amazing staff, very attentive, nothing was too much trouble, we will be coming back, but next time we'll bring more family
- lindadM9012HL (10/5): Lovely place to stay - Great hotel….great evening meals at night….the Lady chef was excellent…..Mario was great too taking orders and chatting to guests….both made our stay special…
- Caesar63 (10/5): Great all round and centrally located - Excellent Premier Inn Hotel.
Facilities, decor etc as expected in this hotel chain. Everything very clean, bed comfortable, large, powerful walk-in shower, air-con/heating worked well and very quiet to allow for a good sleep.
And perfectly located in the centre of St Helier.... shops, cafes, restaurants, harbour, bus station etc all within a few minutes walk.
I didn't eat in the hotel and so am unable to review the restaurant.
Overall a great, centrally located place to stay for a week in St Helier.
- joshpV687FP (10/5): One night stay - Great friendly service - thank you to Abbie and the team for the cake! Happy Birthday Abbie! I will be back to stay again..
- adamrL1092RW (10/5): Fantastic place - Amazing staff that can't do enough for you. Brilliant stay! Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone whether staying for business or a short break.
- joesO4954OO (2/5): Premier Room or Horrors - This is my second time "adding a review" the first was lost or deleted for some reason. This is not a place to stay in Jersey. Too much drama. Paid for a larger room and the air conditioner was broken. Given a smaller room. Let's call it the room of disease. Contracted some type of rash on my legs that spread to 90% of my body. Was definitely from something in the room. Front desk manager was not too much help. Let's call her the eye-roller since that is what she did every time I saw her. The bed and pillows were horrible and I cannot believe there was a placard advisement in the room selling these. For what? Pets. Miserable stay and never was asked how my stay was or even compensated for anything. I have stayed at the Bath street Premier Inn and it is night and day. Bath street was awesome, but not near main shopping. If I ever stay at a Premier Inn again, it would be Bath Street and walk. Do not recommend
- theworld (4/5): Relaxing but some issues - Stayed one night
Given a good view room of park
Lift only went one floor then had to walk stairs to second floor, strange layout.
Air con heating wasn’t working
No phone in room for reception
Went to reception and was given a room heater
Was ok
Kept room warm.
Everything else in room good.
The shower had some basic and poor cleaning issues, both shower heads were covered in black bacteria !! Horrid
Had a nail brush and scrubbed one of shower heads in less then a minute,
So unhygienic and dirty.
- laurenbT1226PB (10/5): Great stay - Nothing wrong all good great team, will come back in the summer with my family will recommended the location and the. Thank you
- Q111GAdarrenp (10/5): A pleasant place to stay. - Pleasant and quite, staff are happy to assist and very nice restaurant facilities. Rooms are clean and inviting, and the car park is spacious.
- 758kirstenw (2/5): Poor service and removal men accessing my room - The day after I arrived at the hotel I noticed some removal men moving mattresses into and out of the hotel. Nothing was communicated with me about this so I thought nothing of it. Out of habit I leave the "do not disturb" sign on my hotel room door. One day I returned to the hotel early to find my room door wide open with two removal men moving out the bed and putting a new one in. All my possessions had been dumped into the corner of the room and my shoes crushed under the new mattress which had been propped against the wall. At no point had staff communicated the change of mattress to me and that removal men would be in and out of my room that contained my things.
Later that day after the bed had been changed I returned to the room to find a paid of men's boxers on the floor which very evidently had visible "skid" marks in them, they were not mine and I'm assuming had been found under the bed when they moved it about but instead of them or the cleaner disposing of them (the cleaner had been in to make up the bed) they left them on the floor right next to the head end of the bed. Really disgusting!!
- mitchelo110 (6/5): Good breakfast - Well cooked breakfast with quality ingredients the team member Bess or Dee I did not quite catch her name but was so helpful and friendly
- davidvY6791WG (10/5): Kendal Cumbria - Great place to stay. Central location, adequate parking although you have to ppay extra for this. Rooms clean and comfortable. Good breakfast, Reasonably priced
- 236malcolmh (10/5): Reception - Millie and Christine on reception are the best. Restaurant gets quiet busy so make sure you book at reception on arrival.
- Wanzebra2 (10/5): Good hotel - Brilliant staff - I was a lone traveller on business & upgraded to Prem Plus room. Loads of parking here - remember and confirm your reg no. Staff were brilliant, friendly and professional. breakfast is cooked to order (no waste food buffet here). Room was brand new and the in-room coffee machine and chocolates were a nice touch.
I have clients in the area and will stay here again.
- PipsTrips (2/5): Bad night's sleep due to incessant fan whirring noise. Cold breakfast. - Stayed here for one night in Room 150 - very glad it was a one night only stay as there was an incessant fan whirring noise inside our room. No idea what it was - not the bathroom fan but coming from above a ceiling tile by the door. The toilet seat did not fit - please see photo. Uncomfortable and unhygienic! Room 150 is in an annexe and the window was covered by bushes outside so opened only on peril of insects coming into the room.
The cooked breakfast buffet food the next morning was cold and the plates were also cold. We complained and were asked to wait 10 minutes while a whole new breakfast buffet was prepared. We did wait but the replacement was also not exactly warm and the plates were still cold. Sadie, a waitress in the restaurant was helpful in initiating a refund for this. Thank you, Sadie.
- 570binyamw (10/5): Five star service - I want to thank all staff members for kind and friendly service I received in my stay.
Excellent hospitality, good food, close to my work.
Thank you all.
- 93francesb (4/5): Bad atmosphere - As a lady travelling alone, this hotel had a lot of scruffy workmen staying, I felt uncomfortable being surrounded by so many men. !
It was not a relaxing hotel to stay in.
There was a lot of tension going on with the staff.
I did not like the atmosphere in this hotel.
Saturday night was better as more families came to stay.
Access and parking were very good.
- Tour42319138401 (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE! - I am currently writing this review from a Premier Plus Room at the Kendal Premier Inn. We are part way through a 3 night stay.
My wife and I have stayed in many Premier Inn hotels (plus multiple other brands) across the UK and never have we experienced such a disastrous stay than at Kendal.
We are reasonable in what we expect, but this stay has fallen far short of that. On arrival and check in, it was clear the staff had no idea at all which rooms had been cleaned, with them having to physically check several rooms first to determine where to place us.
We have an included coffee machine with the Premier Plus room, which was missing on arrival. When we raised this and a coffee machine was sourced from elsewhere, we were advised replacement pods were available. We have since asked for replacement pods to be told there are none.
The air conditioning / heating is not working, meaning the room is stuffy.
The bathroom sink is blocked and it is clear it has not been cleaned for months. The cleanliness of the hotel in general leaves a lot to be desired.
We have asked for our room to be cleaned, however this has been ignored.
We were encouraged by staff to obtain a refund for our meal deal, citing restaurant issues including a lack of ingredients. We opted for this but were given a complimentary breakfast. We have attended breakfast to find no plates, hot breakfast items that were in fact stone cold along with dirty cups and a sticky floor.
We have decided to eat elsewhere and await our refund.
For anyone considering booking this hotel, I advise against it.
This is by far the worst hotel experience I have ever encountered and it is a disgrace to the local area to expect guests to accept the standards in this property. The management should be ashamed.
- G40GBwayneh (8/5): An experience with great ending - A few issues arose but they were dealt with quickly efficiently by Christine with a permanent genuine smile ..premier in should be proud to have such hard working and kind staff
- Brizzle1973 (6/5): OK if you need to stay here, dont use the restaurant. Staff are the only saving grace - Its not often I write reviews for work travel but this was a 4 night stay which included the meal deal & Premier Plus Room.
First night the AC didnt work and the room was musty and damp smelling, the window barely opened. There was no water or snacks (despite being a benefit of premier plus room). There was the promised coffee machine but no pods. The shower was dirty and had hairs everywhere. You had to keep asking for the Ultimate wifi password as it was only valid 1 day and not the duration of your stay. I was promised a move the next day as no available rooms.
Asked about Dinner as there are signs every where saying you need to book and despite arriving early, the earliest dinner time was 8pm which I did. Initially presented with a list of what is not available along with most drinks were unavailable (they dont have anything on tap, its all cans) ended up having a coke as that was literally all they had.
Food was nice, tasty and hot.
Breakfast at 6.30 was ok, again you had to book a time slot and hot food was prepared on order which was ok, its better than sitting under a lamp for a while getting cold. Food arrived quick.
On leaving for work for the day, tried to book into the restaurant that night and the earliest time slot was 8.30 and said dont bother, I dont want to eat just before going to bed and the meal deal that day was refunded. I tried to book for breakfast the next day and earliest they had was 7.30, I had to leave at 7 so that wouldnt work and again that was refunded. Tried to book for the next night in the restaurant and was told the sheet isnt available yet and to try later.
Whilst out my room was moved as promised and the staff moved all my stuff for me. Tried to book for the next night in the restaurant and again earliest they had was 8pm and insisted now the meal deal is removed and refunded as it was clear it wouldnt used.
The new room had AC and an opening window which was great but no coffee machine, water but did have snacks. I still enjoyed the room but there appears to be no cosistency across the premier plus rooms despite all of them having the "whats included leaflet" in each room. I think the staff should read this to see what the room should have.
I would not recommend this hotel if you want food in the onsite restaurant. There are other eateries near by including a Wetherspoons and local pubs, Mcdondalds and local non chain cafes.
On the plus side of this hotel most the staff I encountered were amazing espcially Mia (I think that was her name) who were always helpful covering reception and the restaunrant, it didnt impact service. One lady who seemed to cover the restaurant when I was there for breakfast thought it was appropriate to moan about the cleaning staff and the fact the rota had not been sent through and said how bad they were, she also didnt know how to speak to guests when placing orders it was like you had to guess what was availanle she didnt say thank you or anything - maybe mornings isnt her thing!
Overall, the hotel is ok, I wouldnt recommend it unless you needed to stay here but most the staff were great.
- Diane (6/5): - The hotel was in a good location. The bed was comfortable. Ample hot water. The reception was not very hospital when we arrived. The duty manager was rather abrupt in letting us know that check in was at 3 pm when we just wanted to leave our luggage as we arrived early. The hotel charged us for our room when it was already prepaid to Expedia 3 months ago. We are still trying to resolve this as no receipt was provided when asked. When checking the room to ensure nothing left behind we found candy wrappers under the bed, housekeeping needs to be more thorough in cleaning. Right now we are not happy and would not return.
- Escape40150532101 (6/5): Good location - The hotel is situated in the centre of St Helier, easy walking to lots of pubs, cafes, restaurants and shops.
It is clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was clean and functional, with tea and coffee making facilities and a hair dryer.
Bed was comfortable and bathroom was ok with over bath shower, two bath towels are provided but you can request a change once used if required.
We did not try the restaurant for breakfast or evening meal as we were visiting our son, eating out with him and his girlfriend but it looked busy.
Prices are OK they even serve beers at £5.50 for an IPA.
The reason for my average score is that on Sunday morning, early, we were woken by the sound of children shouting, jumping up and down and running up and down the corridor.
This was on the same floor as reception and the restaurant, so must have been heard by staff, but nothing was done.
It just spoilt out experience somewhat, as we had wanted to lie in after a hectic Saturday touring the island and a great night out in some of the pubs.
We would probably stay again or try the other one down the road.
- davidyZ9412GD (6/5): Nice hotel though a bit pricey - Very welcoming, friendly and hard working staff. No racism whatsoever. Nicely presented, quiet hotel. Some mold in our bathroom, otherwise a clean bedroom.
- steveaN3638ZT (10/5): Nice premier inn - Great place to stay very clean and tidy and friendly staff and good parking, great room with all you need for a nice stay 5 stars !!! stayed many times now
- T1634OEchrisn (10/5): Great Place To Be! - Excellent location - 5 mins walk from Liberation Square Bus Station.
The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and extremely quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast offered an excellent selection, in pleasant surroundings, with minimal interaction from the staff (that's a plus by the way - I do so hate it when your meal is interrupted every five minutes by well meaning staff enquiring "Is everything alright?")
I'd definitely stay there again.
- Fonkey (4/5): The Fawlty Towers of Premier Inns - Where to start - room dusty, no hairdryer or spare pillows. Breakfast a farce as missing a staff member (no contingency plan). Coffee machine off for half an hour for cleaning, no cutlery, plates kept running out. I felt sorry for the staff, putting different hats on every 2 minutes but such a poor customer experience. Feels like the company is cutting costs by cutting hours and it’s the staff and customers who suffer. PI used to be consistent quality and my go-to but not anymore. Profits before customers.
- philhG2165EG (10/5): Superb - Brilliant.
Staff were lovely. Cameron and August were very polite and friendly. Made me feel very welcome.
Food was delicious and very reasonably priced.
- alisonbB410MW (10/5): Once again first class - We have just returned from yet another lovely stay at this premier. We visit every six to eight weeks to see our family .
Once again we couldn't of had better service.
From reception staff to the lovely waitresses of an evening. Evening meals are always excellent and service very efficient!
We especially find Bee very very helpful and attentive. Bee always has a warm welcome for us and goes out of her way to make sure we have everything we need.
Bee in our opinion is a real asset to the company !
We are looking forward to booking our next stay .
- ID576207 (6/5): Some positives, but generally underwhelming - The hotel has an extremely convenient location, less than five minutes walk from the bus station, which is a real selling point. It is also quiet, so no real need to worry about excessive noise, either.
Beds very comfortable, and plenty of hot water. Overall, the rooms are bog standard Premier Inn rooms, with everything that this entails.
The hotel is clearly very understaffed, as other reviews have already mentioned, but this seems to be part of Premier Inn's business model, nowadays, along with including prominently-positioned posters endorsing identity politics, which is also grating, given how little pride seems to be taken in actually being a hotel.
We didn't eat here, there are plenty of other options within walking distance, so can't comment on the restaurant.
I do feel the brand as a whole has headed fairly steeply downhill since the pandemic. You feel this more and more, the longer you stay. For instance, the failure to clean the room, despite having asked for it to be cleaned, would not be a factor, if you were only staying one night.
- TonyReeves (10/5): Consistently brilliant. - A comfortable family room, a great breakfast, and friendly, helpful staff. YOu can count on Premier Inn for a consistently great experience. What more could you ask for?
- 832hazelc (2/5): Very very poor - When we got to the room there was a hole in the wall cob webs on the lights couldn't see out the window so dirty 1 chair to sit on the whole place not clean paid for full English breakfast no hot food very very poor would definitely not recomend staying here.
- kromeandtime (10/5): Lovely central location - Convenient inner town location with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in walking distance, hotel staff were very friendly and room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Lovely central location, would definitely use again and highly recommend to anyone visiting Jersey
- MrsL07 (10/5): Great location and value for money - Stayed here for the second time last week, the hotel is in a great location right in the centre of St Helier and really convenient for getting around. If you take a car Sand Street car park is just around the corner or if not getting the bus to anywhere on the island is simple as it’s just a few minutes walk to Liberty Bus Station.
The hotel rooms are clean and spacious, they have hanging space but only 5 hangers so depending on how long you’re staying or how many of you there are it could be wise to put a few in your case. The beds and pillows were really comfortable, the views from our rooms were at the back of the hotel to a street and small car park (belonging to a local business) The toiletries (Bayliss & Harding) provided in the bathrooms are in large pump bottles attached to the walls. We had an accessible room with a lowered bath (LB) as there weren’t any shower rooms available, personally I wouldn’t book the LB room again as I still struggled with it but for the purpose of our short stay we made it work. As we were travelling with a child and you can not have a family room with accessible bathroom we needed to also have a separate second bedroom but it had an interconnecting door so my husband was happy as he got a room to himself lol.
We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and we felt the food was great value for the price, and we had the added bonus that kids eat free so that was a definite plus!
They say a manager is only as great as their team… well Carlos the manager was lovely, and he has a great team, all smiling and ready to help whenever we had questions. We had booked through PI head office accessible team as I had a couple of requirements, I was assured these would be done but on arrival we found that our request hadn’t been sent through to the hotel properly but Carlos and his team had it sorted in around 15 minutes, we couldn’t fault that for service. I would like to also mention and thank the person who agreed to move rooms so we could be in the 2 rooms we had booked. On our next visit to Jersey we’d have no hesitation in booking this hotel again.
- 910heatherl (2/5): Avoid - Thursday 28th August. We arrived for our payed early check-in at around 1pm , my partner was greeted by a rude female member of staff on reception while I used the toilet, she told him we can't check in until 3pm, but never apologised when I arrived told her our booking information. I asked her was everything OK and she said would I be ok if I had to work while sick, I just wanted to get in our room at this Point. I requested to be booked in for 6pm dinner and 8am breakfast for the following day.
6pm comes we go to dinner and the young lady said our room number 11 isn't down for a booking, she managed to still sit us down but again, not a great start to our 1st night out of 3. The food in the evening was absolutely shocking, did not get asked is everythingok with the food, breakfast was edible.
Friday. Day two we where struggling to cool down our room as the air-conditioning heating system was stuck on temperature 25 it would no go any cooler at all and our window was a sealed window it did not open, we asked reception for help with air con and they offered us a fan to be brought to the room. We waited over an hour to the point I had to personally to reception to collect it myself then carry it back.
Saturday. I asked Christine to book 9am for Sunday morning breakfast. Then we went out for most of the morning, when we got back after lunch time I asked Christine on reception is there nothing else you can do to cool down our room as the fan is just blowing hot air around. She told us it will be cool soon just give it time to set in. The heat in the room was stifling and did not change. I phoned reception and she told us the system was broken, they moved us to room 110 on the 1st floor, even though it was a family room we did not have a bath and the tv was set to blind tv, took a while to fix. I returned the room 11 key back and just to make sure breakfast was still booked I asked, has the room number for breakfast been changed, then told breakfast was not booked for Sunday, I was just fed up at this point. We will never return to this particular branch.
- Go68116018233 (8/5): Great location - Good location. Near the center of kendal and close to bus and train stations. We enjoyed our 2 night stay. Unfortunately there were staff shortages while we were there. In the hotel and restaurant. Causing check in delays and had to keep asking and waiting for cups plates andfood to be replenished in the restaurant. Inspite of this the staff on duty where very friendly and helpful. One member of staff (Christine) was excellent. She was a jack of all trades. Cleaner receptionist and waitress etc We think if it hadn't have been for her at times the place would have crumbled. Even under pressure she was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. She deserved a medal 🏅
- N280GXlukes (6/5): Needs improving - Premier plus rooms were spacious, modern and clean with good air-conditioning and good water pressure in the shower (sadly no bathtub). There were plenty of parking places available and staff was smiling and polite.
Wifi - even the ultimate option was slow and kept disconnecting.
The place seemed understaffed. Long wait to be served at breakfast and while it was unlimited the selection was very limited - no cold cuts, no cheese, no mayo (no omelette option), no hot chocolate.
Poor communication - we asked for a late check out and were told we can leave at 12.45. We gave our room number but the house keeping were not told and bothered us depsite the do not disturb sign displayed and the keycard stopped working at 12 already which meant we had to go back to reception to get it sorted and we were in the room the furthest possible from the reception.
- kjled6 (8/5): Nice quiet location - Lovely quiet hotel and great location right by the town centre. Staff very friendly and super helpful. Parking is £7.00 for 24 hours for hotel guests. Rooms are a good size and have air con you can control.
- N3839DIcharleneh (4/5): Poor hotel - Pretty dirty, corridors had used plates and smelled of egg. Receptionist never told me to enter my registration number so got a parking fine. Car park has small spaces. Tea and coffee is the room is horrendous and kettle was pretty dirty.
- loveacarvery (10/5): Go, stay here, the staff are wonderful and lovely. - Wow!! What a lovely team of staff!! Always willing to please and so lovely / approachable / helpful and nothing was too much effort. Thanks everyone!
Breakfast and evening meals were lovely (we did thank the chef too), and apart from we should of booked an air conditioned room, the whole hotel was a smaller premier inn but the staff made the stay perfect.
- X8497QMphilr (10/5): working away. - been staying here for a few weeks now, all staff are amazing and the rooms are lovely. have enjoyed my time staying away with such a friendly team. i would definitely stay here again!
- Explore08158243230 (10/5): Excellent enjoyable stay - Excellent service, friendly and helpful staff, only issue was not realising plus rooms were further away from reception as I have walking difficulties
- Verified traveler (2/5): Worst experience - The 0 floor lobby and the 1st floor reception were comfortable.
(AC is on 24 hours)
The location is good and conveniently located near a supermarket and other shops/restaurants/etc.
However, I had a very bad stay because the room didn't have a working ventilation system/air conditioning, and you can't open the window. The toilet vent did not work and no AC was available, meaning there was little to no airflow throughout the whole room. I stayed 2 nights and lodged a complaint with the staff 3 times because of the heat and stuffiness.
The first time I requested help, I had to wait for the manager, who then turned on the air conditioning from the office. After that, light wind blew from the AC.
The second night, I asked the front desk again, and the ladies at the reception said there was nothing they could do to help as they didn't have any fans to provide (even though I knew this wasn't true, as the staff had helped me the night before).
The last time that I asked was at 12:30 am because it was too hot and stuffy with 3 people in the room (and we had all just showered) to the point we couldn't sleep or breathe well.
(although some of the other staff were very nice)
And I have to wonder if I was the only person who had this problem.
- Sandra (10/5): - Really good value, large room, Good walk in shower. Great location, good breakfast.
