Guest Reviews
- 768jills (8/5): Stay over for a family funeral. - Had a nice stay at Premier Inn Woking West for a family funeral.
Dissapointing that the restaurant was closed although we did have a nice breakfast and the bar closed at 9pm due to some issues they are having!
A big mention for the lovely girls Natalie and Tara on reception and Rosina who served the breakfast, they were all really friendly and looked after us well, thankyou x
- G6280KEstevem (4/5): 7 days of Hell - Arrived Thursday 20th November for 7 nights. Booked in asked what time we would like dinner said 6.30 pm. No mention of the restaurant no gas for heating building or cooking. Building temperature was 10 degrees, very cold. Waited an hour for the main course we limited choice as no gas.
This continues for 6 nights as we could not get a hold of the manager, staff have no answers what we thought would be a day or two fix. Is still not fixed. Closed restaurant on Wednesday 26 November. Our 7th Night so we had a good meal at the local pub. With heat. Problem was that we could not get any information from team on find the manager. This establishment should be demolished. Not a place to visit in its current form food is very poor. Short staffed with little training including the management. Tara on the front desk is the only one that seems to be customer focused. Thank you Tara you are a Star
- B5760VLdm (10/5): One night - We had a great stay. The Scottish girl in Witney (so sorry I can't remember your name) was amazing and really looked after us! Sorry we couldn't tip you as the machines weren't working! You were great ☺️
- LondonJollyholly (10/5): Very Good - Had a lovely overnight stay here at Horsell. The staff were very welcoming (especially Tanya) and the room/bathroom were very good, in a peaceful location.
We look forward to returning soon.
- nightfoxEngland (2/5): AVOID! Bites from room, awful guest relations - My husband, daughter, and I stayed at the Premier Inn Witney, Oxfordshire from Friday, 3rd to Sunday, 5th Oct During our stay, my husband received eight insect bites: two on Friday night and six on Saturday night. The bites caused him significant discomfort and sleeplessness.
We reported the issue to the manager and showed her dated photographs of the bites. She advised us to contact Guest Relations, assuring us that obtaining a refund would not be a problem.
I subsequently contacted Guest Relations and provided all necessary information, including photographic evidence. After several email exchanges, a representative named Ryan refused the refund and stated that Guest Services would no longer communicate on this matter.
Won't ever stay again at any premier inn. Avoid unless you want bites and poor customer service
- jimmyvH8634WD (10/5): Amazing sleep - Everything was perfect and the team at the reception was amazing. Good food and great sleep . Big parking space and close to town centre
- voicen495 (10/5): Beautiful stay - All good , everything was prefect. Car park was big , room was clean, front office was amazing, dinne and breakfast okay , I’ll coming back again
- richardbY2293XG (2/5): Avoid at all costs! - Worst premier inn I have ever stayed in !
Room and corridors filthy and carpet stained . Loo seat broken in bathroom and dirty and smelly. Bathroom fan broken nail clippings on bathroom floor and urine on loo seat
Corridors full of leaves which had blown in
No lift to first floor and heating only working occasionally
Coffee machine kept braking down in Resterant
The only redeeming point were the staff who were brilliant and did their best to sort out problems
Avoid at all costs !
- Bishman01 (4/5): Dont waste your money! - The total hotel could do with a complete paint job. We were booked into a disabled room. We had no problems with that as we werent disabled but someone that was could have, the toilet wouldnt flush properly due to the flush handle being broken. Rm 119 at the Witney Ducklington lane hotel. The manager the morning of the 29/10/25 was awful. her customer service skills were none existent!. Due to the fact that there was seruiously bad catering ordering skills....half the breakfast that you were supposed to pay full time for...didnt get served!...but still supposed to pay full!...Avoid this place...the whole place is tired and dated...Staff need more training...
- Z9615YMnatalieh (10/5): Good stay - Stayed for a couple of days with the family ideally located between chessington and legoland. We have stayed here previously. Had a couple of meals in the pub and all staff attentive and friendly. Katie was especially good on the evening of 28/10.
Thank you
- M1550UXstevent (10/5): Best premier inn - Road tripped round the UK recently and this was by far the best Premier inn we visited. The staff were polite and attentive, the freshly made pizza by the chef was incredible (highly recommend), thanks to Zoe for amazing service aswell as others. The breakfast cooked to perfection 👌 would certainly stay here again.
- NicandDan2014 (10/5): Amazing staff made us feel very welcome - We always stay at Premier Inn when we travel. We look forward to the beds and especially the breakfast. The staff at Woking West were especially great. The reception staff were very friendly and a special thanks to the amazing staff in the breakfast restaurant who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and very well looked after. Thank you.
- darren823 (8/5): Pleasantly surprised - Reviews almost put me off but glad I booked, comfy bed , friendly staff and excellent base to get to London via nearby train station and only 25 min drive to Thorpe park. No issues whatsoever, rooms clean, shower hot and powerful and quiet surroundings. Will stay again if need too.
- garyrO9027QM (10/5): Excellent service - Excellent breakfast staff. Very polite. Service was excellent. Food was out quick and nice and hot. Overall pleasurable experience
- O1707EXlr (10/5): Very good service - I am writing this on behalf of my Father-in-law who stayed with his carer.
He was treated with much kindness throughout and was allowed his breakfast downstairs as he could not manage the steps.
A special mention to Tara who helped with a parking fine which I incurred.
- LynnClarke (2/5): Unclean - First impressions were good. Reception staff friendly and efficient. That’s where it all ends. Our rooms were across the courtyard on entrance to the building the stairway and hallways were dirty and unkept. Our room was not great but after having traveled for a long day we decided to make the most of it. I cleaned the bathroom shelf with tissue paper as it was covered in somebody else’s toothpaste, wiped around the toilet. Whilst relaxing on the bed a few minutes later the door opened and in walked housekeeping. She was surprised that we were in the room as it was not made up ready for people. I explained that I had cleaned the bathroom and wasn’t very impressed. She informed the reception staff. They called around 15 minutes later to say that the room had been cleaned and it should be good. I explained to the reception staff that the room was not clean and we were not really happy, so they offered to move us. We moved two doors down the corridor which was all done pretty efficiently. Although the room we moved to was still unclean as in mouldy shower and we’d been downsized from a king size bed to a double bed. We decided we were only staying one night so we would endure the stay. On returning to the room after dinner out in working town. We found that we could not get the TV to work. I rang reception which was quite difficult to get through too and it just rang out. No one answered the phone at all. This was at 7 o’clock in the evening. By which time we figured out that the TV was not plugged in at the mains which is behind the TV so not easily visible and sorted the problem ourselves. I would not recommend stopping here, a whole place needs a complete renovation and a thorough clean.
- melanielR224CK (8/5): Bar staff and reception staff make your hotel ! - Overall a good experience at the premier inn pub , food was good , could do with a littlest to outside area but what stood out to me was the service both in the hotel reception and bar .
Katie was especially welcoming and attentive, nothing was too much trouble and she is an asset to you for sure !
- ginajV4430BL (8/5): Lovely bar staff - Quaint little premier inn pub, the food was lovely but a bit on the expensive side for what it was. The experience was really made special by the bar staff, Katie in particular was so attentive and made you feel very welcome.
- B69EGstellas (10/5): Premier inn stay, enjoyable. - Lovely experience, all staff from reception, housekeeping and culinary wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and enjoyed looking around the area.
- Ssslls70 (10/5): Check in 5*+ - A great stay at this hotel, we stay in premier inn hotels frequently and we were more than happy here. Reception staff are superb nothing was too much, we paid for early check in which was no hastle at all. Room was a little dated but was cheap to book so not overly worried about that. Breakfast is buffet style but all hot and well maintained with a good variety. Gluten free catered for too. We would definitely recommend and stay here again if we are in the area.
- emmarW9087WV (2/5): Would not come back! Rude staff and horrible rooms - Overall would not recommend. Rooms very average mouldy showers, very dirty skirting boards and no AC. Receptionist was lovely upon check in could not fault her. However the bar/ restaurant staff were very rude. We stayed friday and saturday night and came around at 9.50 pm to say we close at 10pm, we had only just re ordered more drinks so still chatting and drinking. However by 10.05pm staff shouting across the bar we close at 10pm close means closed ! Then proceeded to essentially kick us out and another few tables one forced to drink his drink very quickly . Very rude staff and would not come back! Some serious training needs to be in place for basic customer service skills!
- 493olwenm (4/5): Disappointed - Stayed here lots over the few years to see family. Last stay not good , room shabby , some staff at reception poor. Attached pub a waste of time if you wanted to meet family or friends in. Has got alot more expensive not worth it!
- H6725NZmuhammadm (2/5): Spider hotel - Spider webs and spiders are everywhere. Room cleaning, toilet and bedsheets was dirty. Spider webs and spiders are each and every corner and even on the floor.
- 168terrancew (2/5): Don’t arrive early - Don’t arrive early and try to register your car to avoid £90 fine for parking, went to reception at 14:30 just to register the car, gentleman on desk was rude abusive and had no customer skills. Kept saying you cannot come in before 3pm not listening that we wanted to register the car and then go for a walk .
- KEly77 (8/5): Great experience for large group - Stayed overnight as part of a large family group. All staff were very welcoming and room was clean, airy and had good temperature control. Very quiet hotel, plenty of parking. Staff were very accommodating in seating our family group together for breakfast, only minor let down was the temperature of the breakfast items- very lukewarm but still a good selection and plenty to go around. Great location if visiting Witney- just a short walk into the town center.
- sheradv (10/5): Premier Inn in Witney - My experience at the Premier Inn in Witney was excellent. The team was very welcoming and kind, with special thanks to Zoe.
- elizabethtQ2479WU (8/5): Good location - Great location for exploring the Cotswolds. Hotel was clean & comfortable. Staff were excellent, but overworked. Definitely need extra staff. Food was good. Would stay there again if in the area.
- Navigator54689378401 (10/5): Always a nice stay. Thoughtful and personal service. - Although we live just 10mins away, my husband and I often stay here and every single time, we’re looked after so well.
Just by checking our booking , the staff already know what type of room we like!
On our recent stay, which was for our anniversary , we were so touched to find a bottle of bubbly, a box of chocolates and a lovely card waiting for us in the room. A very kind and thoughtful gesture.
A big thank you goes to Hannah who has been looking after us since our first visit. What you do for us does not go unnoticed 💕
Thank you and see you again, soon.
- 24albies (4/5): Nice Receptionist, Bad Fan, Bad Restaurant - Lovely receptionist, cannot fault her at all. But dirty rooms and facilities, and rude restaurant staff. Unable to eat dinner at all, since we were turned away an hour and a half before end of service.
- Roving02040740516 (10/5): Check in and service - Steph at reception was amazing. Extremely welcoming, and efficient, would definitely stop here again thanks to her!!
- malcdp (4/5): Very disappointing, again. - I have stayed at this Premier Inn in Witney six times in the past 8 months. On NO occasion has the restaurant been open for service in the evenings. This despite, on most occasions, having booked the Meal Deal (dinner and breakfast). The explanations given vary - the chef’s sick, staff shortages, young staff member unable to work past 8.15pm etc. On the most recent occasion (26th August), we were pleased to see a notice to the effect that, though there was limited service in the dining room, meals WOULD be served to people who had booked a Meal Deal. Then we were told that we were too late - this was at 8.20pm. Staff are pleasant enough - though there are very few of them - but clearer, more honest, explanations would be welcome. In future I shall be booking elsewhere and that might well be at the Travelodge just down the road.
- alexcG2975BZ (2/5): Very poor overall - AVOID! - - A/C in bedroom not working which meant a very uncomfortable night for us all in a family room
- No staff to accommodate our pre-paid for dinner
- Cooked breakfast was only luke warm
- eileenhY9824NN (4/5): Disorganised evening meals - Room good ,breakfast better organised since our last stay. Don’t bother with dinner in the evening. Food ok when you get it but very long waits and mix ups. One of our 2 meals delivered an hour before the other. Other guests walked out, another had had problems 3 nights running.
- LesB607 (4/5): Good - BUT! - The room and bathroom were clean and well presented and everything worked. Staff were friendly and pleasant, although virtually the first thing said to us on our arrival at 13:30 was, “If you want to check in now it will be £15.” Not the friendliest welcome.
The reason for the low score was the restaurant. The tables were sticky. At breakfast the cold section with the milks etc gave the impression that it could benefit from a thorough clean. The cooked food was tired and appeared to have been cooked quite a while before being served. When poached eggs were requested they were not available. The ridiculous reason given was that there was not a pan to cook them in. Poached eggs can be cooked in any type of saucepan or even a frying pan. So what kitchen doesn’t have those available. My wife and our friend went to the restaurant at about 20:00 hours on 14/08/2025 and were refused food because, “they were not accepting walk ins”! Given that we were staying in the hotel and the restaurant was not busy I feel that is unacceptable. We will seek alternative accommodation in Witney before using the Premier Inn there again, and we stay in the area every few months.
- Seaside20013535817 (10/5): A great Premier Inn - A great Hotel which provided an excellent centre from which to explore the Cotswolds. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Breakfast was excellent.
- U9674OVrichardw (6/5): Check the amenities before you go. - Very basic hotel without a pub/ restaurant attached. It has a small dining area which was set up for breakfast at 8pm the evening before. Wasn't able to get an evening meal as the chef was off sick & there was no staff to cover. 🤔We were out at 7am so unable to get breakfast the following morning.
If i had known i would probably booked a cheaper competitor chain of hotel but i booked P I as usually they are the same std. Fan in room kept me awake, unable to switch off.
Not the best PI that I've stayed in.
- 350connorj (4/5): Good but wifi from 1990. - Excellent staff, very friendly. I used the restaurant a lot, food really nice and about average price.
The reason for 2 stars is the internet. If you intend to use it at all during your stay, forget it. The "ultimate" package which you pay extra for is as close to unusable as you can get, before trying to connect to a breeze block.
My stay was long and dull as a result...
- nigelh526 (6/5): Not one of Premier Inns best venues - A disappointing visit. No bar and restaurant very basic. Menu limited due to freezers having broken down. Milk/sugar/coffee/tea sachets in short supply in bedroom. On plus side the staff were friendly
- I8854KYstephenb (10/5): Ideal for business trip. - Large enough room with a double bed and bathroom. Clean.
The restaurant had plenty of space and was quick at serving food. The food was good too.
Parking at the hotel is free and easy to get a space.
Ann and Sharon were good hosts.
