Guest Reviews
- CarolineB186225 (10/5): Excellent nights' sleep! - Very clean, comfortable and quiet room with helpful and friendly staff. Convenient location on the sea front, with a free hotel car park just around the corner. The restaurant was closed for refurbishment but the hotel provided free tea, coffee, croissants and fruit in reception in the mornings.
- noelmG3341AO (8/5): Weekend stay - Very friendly staff clean room and bathroom easy check in and check out. Staff help out with facilities and where very natural in conversation
- M523CSjanef (10/5): Convenient when visiting family and friends - We always stay at this Premier Inn when visiting family & friends. It’s convenient for us as it is in an area we are familiar with.
The rooms are comfortable and this particular one - no:125 - was very quiet.
The staff are always friendly & helpful and it’s good value for money.
- TrevorA975 (10/5): Very helpful throughout my stays I come here regularly couldn’t ask for better - Nathan and his team in the restaurant could not be more helpful, Caroline on the premier inn hotel side is more than helpful nothing is to much trouble , I shall be back
- Tourist51990966488 (10/5): rhyl premier inn - nice staff on reception nothing too much trouble .. as ime disabled blogger cant reccomend this place enough .. huge bed low bath with shower .. large bedroom great for wheelchairs .. sea view from window.. extra pillows brought up on request .. disability accesible room .. booking for xmas now .. ignore bad reviews
- F4244NDchrisd (6/5): Normally very good but this time......? - Normally our stay at Redhill is very good but due mixup over room request took the edge off. Also the fact that the reception phone was on silent so had a long walk to speak to reception for a bath towel.
- Payuporgetout (6/5): Sleep and drink but don’t eat steak - An overnight stay with friends meant picking somewhere convenient for all coming in from different parts of southern England. Hence this PI. Good points: friendly reception and bar staff, excellent shower, very comfortable bed and comfortably priced drinks in bar. Not so good: the meal in the Beefeater restaurant next door. I had probably the worst steak I have had in the last five years. If the kitchen are prepared to serve up a slab of rubbery, warm, greasy and unappetising meat then I thought I should at least try and eat it. But it was truly horrible. What made it even worse was the bitter tasting ‘Steak’ sauce. I considered asking for a replacement (with no guarantee of improvement) but that would have left me eating on my own after my friends had finished eating their respective food choices - not steaks. I mentioned my disappointment to the very friendly table server and she was sympathetic. 18 hours later I am still slowly and painfully trying to digest the last (I hope) of that steak.
- 15ljg (6/5): Great people, comfy bed, but no wireless. - The reception was more than helpful and it was a great experience checking in. Originally, I was in room 106, but it had no wireless internet connectivity. The reception changed me to room 6 hoping I would get better connectivity downstairs. No luck and as helpful as reception was, they are not IT experts nor should they be. In 2025 there is really no excuse not to have solid wireless coverage throughout the hotel. Reception even gave me an access pass for the fast wireless, but there was no signal in either room.
Later, when I went to the attached restaurant at 7 pm for a table for one person, they told me the next available time was 8:30 and I was not allowed to order food at the bar, nor for carry out back to the room. It would be great if they work out a take to the room solution in such cases.
- idunnoo2025 (2/5): Avoid. - The location of this hotel is great. But im afraid it stops there. We were allocated a room on the 1st floor. The entire corridor smelt of damp and mould.
The room was ok but we had dirty cups and which needed to be changed. The shower curtain was too long and sat in the bath. The plug had rust all around it. The curtains in the room itself were stained and looked like a wash wouldn’t hurt.
The hotel was quite noisy during the night with people coming back to their rooms.
The staff were rude and ignorant and not very welcoming at all. The car park is a short walk from the hotel only a minute or two away.
I wouldn’t stay here again if the rooms were free. While we were there we heard a couple of guests complaining about bed bugs. Luckily our room was bed bug free.
- janinec413 (4/5): Dont bother! - Dont bother! Tired, dirty and food not great. Needs an overhaul. Such a shame as location is great. Invest and work on catering it may improve.
- Michael (8/5): - Larm fra vejen
- Mr20132013 (8/5): All ok, no issues - All ok, no real issues, the standard is premier inn.
Most we stay at are the same. Good service, friendly staff.
Drinks, food all ok, no issue here, great location for the beech, car parking also.
- H5062PEcb (2/5): Refurbish now or close down - Premier Inn should be ashamed of keeping this hotel open. It is run down and worn out. It is rude to charge what they do for such tired and not very clean facilities. I sense they know that people will keep staying there because of being close to Gatwick Airport. The Beefeater next door is also in the same poor condition and very dingy, with sticky tables. Some of the staff, at the hotel and The Beefeater, are very loyal and good at their jobs.
- RossK360 (6/5): Premier Inn average foder - The hotel is an average Premier Inn , rooms are clean and quiet, we stayed the night before a flight from Gatwick Airport & it served a purpose. The property could do with some TLC, as could the attached Beefeater restraunt which is not very inviting by appearances.
- W9077CTjadeh (6/5): Ok stay - Bed was comfortable, however when getting ready for bed noticed blood on the duvet and 2 pillows.
We notified reception and they came and changed the bed within 5 minutes.
The travel cot provided is very thin but baby slept fine.
- C7682LDjanem (4/5): Clean and tidy - The location was good for beach front and work.
Clean and tidy
Staff Friendly
Was booked in from work was asked to pay £199.95 for one night meal deal on top
Prices soar up because it was a saturday and a gig on across the road.how disgusting it goes up x3 for saturday and gig.
Breakfast was not even warm beans mushrooms etc all quite on the cold side, fresh tomatoes not even cooked
good choice of cold breakfast
Poor selection of diet drinks
- samanthacT5458YQ (2/5): Disappointing - We regularly stay in Premier Inns across the UK, but our recent stay in Rhyl on the 13th Sept 2025 was very disappointing!
On arrival we noticed our duvet had visible holes (more than an inch long), but it was clean, so we didn’t really mind. We went to bed at 11pm and that’s when we heard loud footsteps continually pacing around the room above us. Roll on to 3am and without being able to get any sleep, we’d just about had enough and went down to reception to explain the situation. They reassured us that they would go and knock on their door. From the raised voices above we knew the staff had tried to improve the situation, but sadly the noise from above continued. By 4.30am we had had enough, packed up and went down to reception. We rang the desk bell, but no response. So after not a wink of sleep we drove the long journey home.
Now Premier Inn always send me a courtesy email asking how they did, but not after this visit! I’m really disappointed with the way the situation was handled. When you spend £145 for a room for the night and then get no sleep, I would expect an acknowledgement and offer of compensation. I will never be staying here again after such a disappointing experience!
- L3147QJbarbarag (2/5): Very disappointing - Stayed at the Premier Inn in rhyl many many times and always enjoyed it especially the gran children enjoy staying, however recent stays have been disappointing, the old staff with experience are no longer there, and new untrained staff have replaced them, we couldn't eat there as the restaurant was closed for staff training, very bad management.
- fredhZ5494UM (8/5): Comfortable & enjoyable stay at Rhyl Seafront hotel. - There was an element of trepidation prior to our arrival having read some of the online reviews.
Staff on duty when we checked in were friendly & helpful making for a stress free experience.
Some of the decor in corridors & room were a little tired but not unexpected or unacceptable in a busy & well used hotel, general cleanliness was to an acceptable standard.
Our accessible accommodation was located on second floor (well serviced by two lifts) in a quiet area towards end of corridor. Noise levels throughout stay were very good, & the bed as always very comfortable.
Although limited in number, we had the use of disabled parking bay adjacent to entrance for duration of stay.
The restaurant staff were friendly & very accommodating, the quality of food available was both fresh & very good.
- 996brigittel (2/5): Terrible experience, sleepless night, smelly room - We booked into this hotel as we were attending a wedding close by and we are from London. We arrived at reception and then made our way to our room , it was just after midnight on the 3rd August.
The window to the room was open, the room smelt bad, there was hair to be seen in the bathroom , and no air con , but there was a fan that would cut out every few hours, which kept disturbing our sleep. The room was very dated and needs an upgrade.
We had paid to have a breakfast and may I sat that was not what we expected, we had to wait quite a long time for someone to take our order and when it finally arrived you could found the number of baked beans in the plate, rations. The table was sticky, the cups dirty, and the staff looked fed up.
Bad experience all around at this hotel, would not recommend.
- SusannahB351 (10/5): Helpful service and spotless rooms - Five of us Arrived soaking wet on five bikes
Receptionist was exceptionally helpful in organising rooms to accommodate us and booked us a table at the beefeater realising that we would have missed it if not.
Spotless rooms
- dib993 (4/5): Mucky room - 1st room we gt offered was dirty bits on floor overpowered by stale smoke, hubby complained gt a new room was better smelling still bits on floor looked like not seen hoover in corners and under bed dusty surfaces bird muck all splattered on window tatty net curtain bedcomfy, bedding n towels not fresh , food in restaurant was disgusting rock hard bacon and egg, hash brown only warm even though under heat lamp waste of money, restaurant was closed at lunch and evening so had to going looking for else where to eat, only thing good about this place is lovely staff definitely would not win on 4 in bed give it a miss
- 880hayleyj (2/5): Don't stay here if you don't want to get bitten by bed bugs!!! - The staff didn’t seem to have a clue and seemed to be very disorganised. They didn’t seem to know what promotions were available whether it be by email or otherwise for example we had an email stating that kids eat free all day and we checked the terms and conditions and even upgraded to a meal deal on this offer but every night we ate we were told we had to pay for the kids meals even though we double checked with a person in charge when we arrived and there was also signs on the bar stating kids eat free all day. Also on the subject of the bar it seemed to be a shambles opening at 5pm shutting at 9.45pm and out of a 3 day stay only had draught beer working on 1 night. Also even though the food was faultless it took nearly 1 hour every night to be served our food.
Secondly, we stayed in room 112 and on the second day there I noticed bites of some description on my arms, my stomach, my back and my legs. Also 2 out of 3 of the lamps were not working and after taking bottles up to the room because the bar staff told us there was a bottle opener in the room on the side of the desk we only found 2 screw holes where the bottle opener was meant to be and we did not tell the reception at the time because there was never no staff about at the reception to tell and we pressed the bell 5 times to ask someone for clean towels and then had to ask a further 3 times for the same towels. After staying earlier on in the year and having a really good time we were very disappointed and disheartened and instead of coming home happy and wanting to book again all we came home with were bites all over our bodies and felt we don’t want anyone else going through the same experience as we did.
And since I have got back the bites that I have had to receive medical treatment twice as they have been infected and made me poorly and i had to take antibiotics for. I have tried emailing the hotel and the guest services and not one of them have replied to my several emails.
- sajpatel78692 (4/5): Disappointed and Dissatisfied - Our overall experience was not the best at this Premier Inn. We have stayed in MANY Premier Inns nationwide but, by far this was the worst experience. The car parking facilities for disabled blue badge holders was very poor. 4 spaces and the any surplus, had to park 200 metres away in another. There were NO STAFF members ever at the front desk. You had to press a buzzer and the a few minutes later, someone would come out. The Rooms were on the smaller side too as we had a family room. Lifts location was not ideal, as we had to walk all the way round to our room. Overall, we weren't happy with our stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We had a great stay with friendly staff
- stuartsE8273IM (2/5): Very bad - Room never got cleaned had to clean my own room dust everywhere never topped up toilet rolls Internet speed really slow wouldn't advise no one stay here cups were dirty food was poor to
- joevP3257GI (6/5): Tired building, very hot, budget option. - What do you want from a Cheap hotel room. Clean and be able to sleep.
Unfortunately it was 26°C in the room with the windows open and the fan on and that was as cool as it got at night. It seems that the ground floor is just unbearable.
It was clean other than a little moldy in the bathroom and shower head could do with a descale. Water pressure was very up and down.
We had breakfast in the Beefeater next to building, this was great value for money and unlike other premier inns, cooked breakfast was cooked on demand. No more over cooked eggs!
We had dinner another night there, this not so good. Shown to a bar service area, a very average dinner which was expensive as well and then went to order dessert from bar to be told no more food. This was at 8:30. Very early to stop food especially with a hotel attached.
- Mathias (6/5): - La chambre n’a pas été faite lors du séjour (3 nuits).
Chambre assez spacieuse.
- laurabP8913TH (4/5): My worst premier inn experience - Arrived to the hotel to an empty reception so patiently waited for a member of staff. I asked to check in, to be told check in is 3pm. I explained I had paid for early check inn and he went to check if the room was ready. He returned and kindly told me it would be 5 minutes so we took a seat. 40 minutes later we were told the room was ready. The parking is around the corner which is a problem If you need to nip to your car when it’s dark as it was very deserted and seemed unsafe. Also dragging your luggage round bit by bit was annoying. We arrived in our room, to sadly be facing the back end of the hotel which looked rough. We walked into the room and the smell of bleach literally took our breath away and gave me a headache. The window didn’t open so we had to deal with it. Bathroom looked nice and clean but I’m not surprised if it had just been drenched in bleach. We shut the door to see dirty hand prints and sticky drips on the back of the door and mirror. It just looked and felt grubby. You could tell they are very short staffed. Breakfast the next morning was my worst from prem inn. The restaurant was dirty, most tables full of dirty plates and just a few bits for breakfast. Bowls and glasses looked filthy. I would save your money and eat in a local cafe. I travelled to Rhyl many times as a child and it’s really sad to see how lifeless the area has become. Definitely won’t be returning.
- louisesD8968FB (8/5): Family of 5! - Went with my family for just overnight stay.
Very clean staff really good!! Didn't have breakfast so can not comment but had our suitcase for us the next day and that helped us loads! Clean room, clean bathroom! Only thing I will say WiFi if you do not pay for it is bloody terrible!
- L6054IDcynthiaa (10/5): Great stay - Spent 3 nights here ,staff were all very friendly and helpful
Room was very good and clean, comfortable beds
Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and well cooked
Restaurant had a great menu choice
- jonathanv541 (4/5): Dirty room - Dirty room carpet not hoovered , hairs in shower, mirror glasses dirty, good breakfast apart from restaurant floor looking very dirty and spills just left with wet signs over. Not best premier inn I stay in for how much they charge to stay two nights near 200 pounds, stayed in far clearer £39 two star travelodges.
Echt jammer, want leuke locatie.
- juliemT389AD (2/5): Absolutely Horrible Town - Cant understand the positive reviews on here, are they really staying in this hotel??
I have used Premier Inn many, many times and have 2 future bookings made with Premier Inn. I stay with Premier Inn because I have always been happy with the service and rooms. On my trip to Wales I had also stayed in Porthmadog which was absolutely lovely and would have liked to stay longer.
The staff on reception in Rhys were very nice and helpful and the room we got was absolutely fine except for a fickle air conditioning system.
But the property itself was disgusting so very dirty and smelly. The carpet in the halls looked and smelled like they had never been cleaned/vacuumed. The outside entrance smelled of urine, with rubbish and weeds everywhere. I had never been to this town and wish I hadn't gone there. It is so run down with many undesirables in area I felt very unsafe. This is not a very good location for this hotel and unfortunately I didn't check this before I booked as I have never had a problem with Premier Inn before. I think a lot of the issues with this hotel in its location and it seems that cleaning staff are not doing there job or there is not enough of them. I did speak to the receptionist to see if I could change the booking to another Premier Inn for the second night but he was unable to help and when I phoned the booking office it was closed. I am so very disappointed that this hotel was my last stay in Wales before the end of my holiday and it really left a lasting impression for all the wrong reasons.
- N9871BPdavidp (4/5): Needs Refurbishment - By far the scruffiest Premier I have ever stayed in. It needs a major refurbishment and some basic cleaning. Room smelt unpleasant and was run down. Outside areas were really unpleasant with litter cigarette ends and rubbish everywhere. The only redeeming thing was the staff who were pleasant and cheerful.
- 574siant (2/5): Avoid - Very briefly, avoid this hotel. There are better airport hotels/options in the area. This is by far the worst Premier Inn/hotel we have stayed in. A dated building in desperate need of TLC and a deep clean. Common areas smelled musty, needed proper ventilation and carpets filthy. Our room needed a deep clean and a good hover. Black mould evident around windows and the bathroom shabby. The bed, as expected in a Premier Inn, was at least comfortable. The restaurant was grim. Every surface was sticky and at breakfast the milk container needed a good wipe. A shame as all staff encountered were absolutely lovely, especially the fabulous waitress who served us in the evening. She was a gem, unwavering in her professionalism and a delight to deal with.
I rarely leave a negative review, but a basic standard of cleanliness in a hotel is not much to ask, whatever your budget.
- John (8/5): - Perfect for our requirements
- Y6870NXandys (2/5): Very bad - Rhyl preimer inn crap hole, don't bother unless seriously desperate. I have stayed at a lot of preimer inns and they have been fantastic, this one is letting the side down. Stayed one night ,two adults and two children in a quad room, had one double bed which was made and one single which was not made, spoke to reception, thay apologised and said they will be straight up,one hour later two girls then up to change one single bed, didn't believe use with not having enough beds, to there shock we were wright. They apologised again and went, one hour later no bed, I went to reception again,no one their, waited 15mins no one their, went to the restaurant and found one employee slumped in the corner, on his phone, spoke to a nice lady behind the bar about our problem, she spoke to the slumped boy with attitude and he stormed off, she told me we might have to change your room or fined u a bed, this is now about two hours after we checked in and reported this issue, I think we were being forgotten on purpose. With gritted teeth I said ok, she informed me she would let me know straight away. 30mins later a knock at the door, little attitude boy storms in with a bed and storms out, leaving the young lady to make the bed in a very uncomfortable situation. We would understand if we had early check-in, we didn't,we check in about 7pm. Lazy, rude staff should be ashamed.
- 763DaveW (8/5): Good location for Rhyl - and you know what you'll get at Premier Inn - Good, central location in Rhyl for us as we walked along the Wales Coast Path. Friendly staff, Decent room. Good breakfast.
- G9866MEsusanh (4/5): Not the best experience we’ve had at Premier Inn - If you use a CPAP machine, be aware that there are no socket outlets beside the bed - I was told this is the case in all the rooms at this location. Bring an extension cable with you. Also, try to get a room on the upper floors - ours was on the ground floor and had a terrible musty/mouldy smell (likely the reason for the floor standing fan in the room).
- laurarB4785JE (10/5): Great Stay for Unfortunate Reason - I had a last minute stay as my husband was rushed to hospital from Gatwick Airport. The location is very convenient for the hospital and airport. Friendly, welcoming staff, who were extremely accommodating to my needs. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing to be close to either the hospital or airport.
- Z3847NIshaunm (2/5): Beware the black mould - Beware of the mould in the bathrooms. when you enter your room do yourself a favour and check the bathrooms before you get comfortable, in case of mould. The hotel is old, dated and feels dirty. It is in dire need of a renovation, the car park is reminiscent of the sate of our roads in general and the staff that we dealt with dont seem to really have much about them,
- nayanaap2024 (10/5): Found new bestie - Kathy was amazing! Fantastic and attentive service. Nice to see a member of staff really take pride in their work. Really happy with the pub and particularly Kathy working here. Talked us into more than we would have otherwise spent! Brilliant place to go.
- JensV63 (10/5): Nice cosy place - Lovely and cosy place, close to Gatwick Airport. It gives you aircraft noice, but that must be expected when its so close to an airport.
Clean place and lovely helpful staff (Roger).
Video monitored free parking is an absolute plus.
The Mill House where you can eat, is very nice too. Prices is average.
- kaviyarasit2024 (2/5): Poor service - 1.A warm welcome kit with essential toiletries or just a simple toothbrush and paste would be appreciated. (Atleast pre inform the customers while booking, to bring their own is a must)
2. There is no way to reach out for any help unless to walk all way down( through the squeaky floor) to reception, no phones available in the room. And most of the rooms are far away.
3.And the WiFi is ultra-slow that even my mobile network with poor reception was working better. Took more than 5 minutes, even to load a web page, that too on non peak, early morning 5am.Not any videos or images, just a simple web page!
I think the free WiFi speed kept deliberately slow to make us purchase their ultra speed WiFi.
Overall, Not worth the price for this poor service. Without these basic amenities. The airbnbs are performing better with all the above available and even takes extra-step in hospitality with some welcome snacks and beverages for free.
