Guest Reviews
- Sara (2/5): - These people were so rude and unhelpful.
- RYAN RICORDO (10/5): - Great staff n lovely stay
- T8666DUlindam (10/5): Perfect hotel to stay in. - Lovely room, spotlessly clean. Tea and coffee making , lovely shower.
There was nothing that I could fault. Value for money
- robertsI798FJ (4/5): DisappointedStay - The bed was not the usual King size that I expect and look forward to, it was a regular Double.
The soft pillows were not soft.
The floor 'creaked' very loudly, it must have been annoying to whoever was underneath our room.
The air in the room was stale/musty, which someone must have been aware of as there was a table top fan in the room.
No phone to contact reception.
No drawer space.
The restaurant annex is shabby in every respect, the floor of the restaurant had dirt/mud on it and the carpeted area was filthy and sticky.
All in all it was a far cry from Premier Inns I used when travelling for work 5 years ago, standards have noticeably declined.
- willparry58 (10/5): Great stay, helpful staff in both hotel and restaurant and good food. - Our stay was great, comfortable beds clean rooms the only thing that we needed to ask for was a pillow and quilt for cott but service was amazing for the time we arrived, breakfast was great and staff in where so nice and helpful I would definitely stay again .
- 720donnan (10/5): Everything you need for a comfortable overnight stay - Excellent place to stay. Right opposite the railway station. Next to a nice park and easy walk into town.
Comfy beds, bath in the bathroom which was thoroughly enjoyed. Friendly welcoming staff.
- AFCB12345678 (10/5): Sound Hotel for early morning flight - Read a lot of mixed reviews prior to staying at the hotel,
I was pleastly surprised with what a sound hotel it was when I used it for an overnight stay prior to catching an early morning flight from Gatwick.
Few key points...
Quiet location and a great nights sleep,
Bed was so comfy
Nice bathroom - hansgrohe raindance power shower with the option of a bath
Baylis & Harding hand wash and shower gel
Great transport link into Gatwick & London
Breakfast was ordered and cooked fresh instead of self-service
Walking distance into town for pubs, restaurants, shops.
It's never going to be Premier Inn's flagship hotel but it's definitely a good option for an alternative Gatwick Airport hotel or a stay if you're working in the area.
The whole team were very friendly helpful during my stay.
- DEBORAH (10/5): - Recently upgraded renovated comfortable rooms
- Penm25abc (6/5): Lovely but noisy - Lovely hotel. Great staff. Nicely decorated.
A downside is Premier Inn prise themselves on a quiet nights sleep, but the hotel is very noisy, with creaky floorboards from other rooms and loud closing doors.
- JalisonD (8/5): Don’t be put off by outside appearance - Looked shabby from the outside but was very pleasantly surprised once inside. Lady on reception was very welcoming and friendly. The room had been revamped and actually had plugs by bedside unlike last few premier inns we have stayed in! Very clean, bathroom looked new. Nice powerful fan and good sized tv. Had a very comfortable night.
- 21msa (10/5): Fantastic - Please don't be put off by the negative reviews! I had an amazing stay with my daughter who was in Horsham for her work experience, its close to the town and with free parking is an added bonus.
All the staff were really kind and helpful and a special mention to Kelly the manager who went above and beyond, a real asset to the company! I noticed she greeted all guest and made them feel welcome with her friendly personality.
We were there for two weeks but only staying when my daughter had to go in for work so we check out when she was off and check in when she had to go in, each time we checked in, the rooms were always immaculate, thumbs up to the cleaning staff.
Mr Edwin was one of the cleaners who cleaned my room no 61, thank you for your hard work. All in all we were made to feel really special even though Premier Inn is a budget hotel but we feel we had a five star service. Thank you to all staff for our wonderful stay.
- Saamir (10/5): Kerrie at Reception couldn't be friendlier and kinder and I felt as welcomed as when 8 had last come here to stay for work. Exce - Friendly clean welcoming and not school masterly about checking out on the dot at noon unless they are paid a tenner. Very well located near the station and if your work takes you to the law courts that's literally a 5 minute walk. I stayed in room 49 which was spacious. Kerrie got me some cutlery for my takeaway and all the staff are nice and kind. A good place to stay in Horsham.
- V8164DBelaineh (2/5): Beware the “Free Parking” signs - Beware the “free parking” claim. Visiting with family who flew and stayed at PI North I drove and stayed elsewhere as I had my dogs. I went to pick up family the morning after they arrived but they kept me waiting for 40 minutes. The car park signs say parking is free in large letters so I didn’t read the small print thinking I would only be a few minutes. I later got a fine for £57 from Horizon Parking for not registering my car and staying 40 mins. I had 4 days to the deadline so I paid it as it would increase to £95 if I didn’t. PI North say HP owns the car park and nothing to do with them. I think it’s all very underhand registering car to park should be in large highly visible lettering.
- K9566AJchrisp (2/5): Avoid at all costs - Arrived on Monday for the week with work.I’ve stayed in hundreds of premier inns and this has got to be the worst experience so far.in all fairness the rooms are fine apart from no bath mat or hand towel.requested a room clean on Wednesday morning, not done.requested again on Thursday morning, not done.cleaners got the blame.
Onto the restaurant, wait an age for a drink, finally get seated at half 6 and warned they were running behind even though only 4 tables were taken by couples.food had sold out then the food we got an hour after ordering was lukewarm warm and tasteless.staff were over friendly which bordered on annoying and their hygiene was questionable.seats repaired with black tape, stained carpets, and understaffed.
Try another hotel,trust me
- amyc241 (2/5): Rooms not cleaned. - When we checked in we went to the room and it had not been cleaned, bed still unmade, plates etc. went downstairs to get another room. Was checked into a different room, got to that room and this room had also not been cleaned. Bed was unmade, pipettes on the side in the bathroom, plates etc, third time around we got an actually cleaned room.
- foodietravelmap (2/5): Terrible standard - Is this really a premiere inn - Checked in 9pm Allocated room up 2 flights with luggage , bed unchanged/unmade, used cups , dirty laundry, bathroom uncleaned - not ready for new guest back to reception given another room up 2flights stairs exactly same as previous room plus a basket of dirty sheets/towels , given 3rd room (2 flights stairs again) which was made up , very hot room window only opens few inches , table top fan provided not effective. Breakfast food ok restaurant dingy , looks dirty, threadbare carpets , old tables needs refurb . Frontline Staff try their best , no manager available, housekeeping not good . Parking good. Definitely not premier inn standard .
- courtneypG790OE (10/5): Great stay! - Great stay! Very friendly staff and always approachable. We had a lovely big fan in the room as the weather was quite warm so that helped keep down the room temperature. The food was great and the rooms were clean.
- minniemouse22 (4/5): Drab on the outside with drab staff to match on inside - Uninspired hotel in good location for the station but out of town centre.
Looks dreary on the outside but the receptionist attitude was worse, once you had managed to locate her, after all weary travellers really don’t want to stand around hoping….
Several rings of bell shouts of hello she finally appears. No lift and I have some mobility issues but didn’t want to be ground floor which was her first suggestion after long peering at system and here’s an extra towel it’ll only be set up for one. We’re clutching the extra towel now we have a sense…compromise reached that we would go to the top floor, clearly identified as room 56. This has taken a while to check in. Get to top floor key does not work (we’re still clutching that extra towel) Partner went downstairs, she had meant 59. Yeah right. Room was large and drab and just the one bath towel so we did right to hang on to it! It’s a no from us.
- charlottebP1168BJ (10/5): Staff and premises were great - The staff were all incredibly friendly.
The room was clear and although it was warm the fan worked well. We spent two nights here whilst visiting the Knepp Estate. The staff in the restaurant were great and the food was lovely accompanied by the house rose. If up this way again I would happily stay here again!
- V5301XAshelleyb (4/5): Room too hot and dinner was awful - I have to agree with others. The room was ridiculously hot. I used the fan but with the window only being able to open a few inches it did not cool the room down. I only managed a few hours sleep . Everything else about the room was fine, lovely and clean. Another disappointment was the restaurant. There was an over powering smell of old fat. I have a cheeseburger and chips which the chef drenched in mayo and ruined it. I skiped dessert as I could not wait to leave. Big thumbs up to the waitress though, she was really really lovely.
- A5847DMhenrys (2/5): Far too hot: couldn't get a full sleep either night. Went home early. Would not have booked second night if we'd known. - Stayed 27-28th. Temperature in Room 58 was 28-29 degrees C. all of the time, mostly 28.5.
No breeze at all.
There was at least a little in the corridor as it had 2 windows, but not our room.
Though a powerful fan provided, only half the window opened, and that was restricted.
Very hard to sleep in the heat, even without the duvet. We seriously considered sleeping in the car in their car park the second night; it was that bad and much cooler in the car with windows open.
After a second poor night sleep, after checkout we scrubbed what we'd planned for the day (and booked the second night for) and drove straight home instead.
Could hear extractor fan in bathroom (told they were new), but not feel any effect/draught (and the lights there were hot). So no chance of the cross-ventilation that the corridor had.
New manager there kindly filled in their online complaint form, but not heard anything back (hence waiting to write this).
At previous hotel she managed, they offered some (limited) buckets of ice to put in front of the fan; also duvet cover instead of duvet (but we dispensed with any covering).
Second breakfast was (also) cooked to order. Nice, but took some half hour; so no time/opportunity for unlimited breakfast (which is always great part of Premier Inn). Which made us rush to meet the noon checkout time.
Manager said if we'd asked, she could have added more time to the checkout. Wish we'd known to ask earlier.
I'm not a 'fan' of air-conditioning, but when it is that hot in a room it would help. Even just a big extractor fan near the door, to draw air through when it is cooler outside.
- FrannieJDT (8/5): Overall a good hotel at a reasonable price - We stayed at the Premier Inn, Horsham North for 1 night.
It is a clean hotel with firm but comfortable beds and clean, crisp bed linen. The room was as I would have expected it to be and with no problems. The blackout curtains work thus keeping the room dark when closed. The staff were welcoming and friendly both at reception and then at breakfast the following morning. When crossing with staff on the stairs/or in the lobby, they were without exception warm and always greeted us with a friendly greeting.
Bearing in mind that it had been a warm day we experienced the only problem with this hotel. We were on the second floor and could not cool the room down. The window only opens a tiny bit and it was suffocatingly hot with our temperature gauge showing 28 degrees from start to finish of the stay, despite a change to pouring rain during the night and a reasonable cool breeze picking up outside. They do provide a decent, quiet fan that we positioned by the window to pick up as much breeze as possible but it made little difference in reality.
If sleeping in an airless, hot room is a problem for you as it was for me, you may wish to rethink. My husband slept soundly but did say that even he found the temperature really quite uncomfortable! Apart from this it is a great hotel for the money.
- paulwO6027EF (2/5): This place needs air conditioning! - I booked 1 night's stay here as the location and free car parking were perfect. However, I didn't think to check if the room had air con when I booked. What a big mistake that was!!! The room was unbearably hot and stuffy even with the fan provided and an open window which didn’t open wide enough to allow any cooler outside air to flow through. My wife and I hardly slept, as it was so uncomfortable. At one point we almost considered sleeping in the car. I usually can't fault Premier Inn, but this was a big let down.
The place is probably fine in the winter but should be avoided in the summer, especially during a heatwave! Our room faced the station and we were later told that it gets the full sun on it throughout the day.
