Guest Reviews
- Q3780MEwaynec (10/5): Stay before surgery - Loverly food, served hot without having to wait.
Brilliant and professional service from Beth and Netti really looked after us and made us feel welcome
- katiekV2954VD (4/5): I wouldn't want to return sadly - Poor premier inn experience, while it is clean it isn't as modern as usual premier inns. Towels well worn, bathroom tired - shower head was partially blocked and when running the shower the tap wasted water straight down the hole couldnt switch completely to shower. Grout was pretty grotty.
Road is super noisy outside and there was a tapping noise in the room all night. I paid 144 pounds which was well over priced for this premier inn.
- A6677MCmatthewh (10/5): Walked-in checked in ! - Arrived as a walk in after experiencing issues online. I was checked in Quick, friendly and helpful service from Dianne.
- HappyinHertfordshire (6/5): Not so great this time! - I have stayed at this location many times, it’s close to Meadowhall Shopping Centre.
On arrival there were two huge low load trucks taking up 10+ spaces, they obviously wanted to be as close to the entrance as possible. Not ideal as the weather was very wet and it reduced the number of parking spaces.
There was just one member of staff manning check-in, waiting in the restaurant and serving at the bar. He did it very well but could have done with a colleague to help as all areas were busy.
The bedroom had an awful smell, like old trainers (no they weren’t mine!) this made me doubt the cleanliness of the room and bedding. Usually the bedding is crisp and clean.
I will stay again as it is convenient but the cost has gone up and I’m not sure I got value for money this time.
- hayleyyfc (10/5): Clean, affordable and friendly. - Lovely and clean. With a nice bar and restaurant. A little bit small but has everything you need. You do need to book evening meal in advance.
- TravelllingGirl (10/5): Great place to stay - Classic premier inn. Comfy beds and very clean.
Plus free parking!
Breakfast was lovely with eggs cooked fresh! Breakfast staff so kind and friendly!
- stephenrF5516FC (8/5): Good staff and enjoyed my stay - Very good staff on reception, helpful and friendly........................Rooms as you would expect......................comfortable and clean............... Breakfast very tasty
- jordancM2457JM (10/5): Customer service - Me and my friends had great time the customer service from Samantha Marsden was amazing helping us out with the layout of the hotel cant wait for my next stay there
- Swimh (10/5): Brilliant - Such a great premier inn in the perfect location, with an absolutely delicious buffet breakfast! I definitely recommend adding it to your booking for every morning.
All the reception staff were very helpful and Wendy is fantastic. She is so helpful and smiley, and when I totally messed up my parking payments she was there to offer help!
Will be back next year!
- F2011HQjacquelineh (10/5): Regular visitors to our favourite Premier Inn restaurant. - We, a table of nine, had excellent and friendly service in the restaurant tonight. Couldn’t fault it, really good food too.
- N2122GKclairew (10/5): Another successful stay - Antony and Rachel were fantastic last night, extremely friendly, polite and accomadating reassuring us that our larger booking tomorrow would be absolutely fine with our friends.
- F7399XVdawnw (10/5): Good service - Staff membe4 Anthony help with self booking, was extremely helpful amd took my meal in the restaurant in a cheerful manner. Rooms are comfy.
- E278ZFkates (10/5): Delightful stay. - Whilst staying here, There was great customer service provided by Sam, she always had a smile on her face, very welcoming, she went above and beyond to make sure my stay was exceptional. Nothing was too big of an ask. She made me feel so welcome, which made the whole experience of staying at the premier inn (Angel Street) delightful. Always on her feet, giving 110% to her work. Everything was so clean, I had such a good experience, i am so thankful for all Sams help, she was very professional, and punctual, every question i asked she always had an answer for, she knew exactly what she was doing. I will definitely be staying here again.
- 648fionah (10/5): Fantastic dinner - Lovely chilled hotel and restaurant. Had chilli linguine and it was very tasty. Katsu chicken curry was brillant. The service was friendly and amazing, so attentive and nothing was too much trouble
- F825QWfrancescob (6/5): Sufficiente - We ask many times about cleaning, but was wery poor,
,................................................ .............
- amynJ2352RL (10/5): Coeliac - I was very impressed with the staffs knowledge on coeliac disease. They have a folder with all the food they serve, the allergens they contain and also any may contain too. I was brought out some freshly washed cutlery that no one else had touched and contaminated, which is the first time anywhere has done this in the 5 years I have been diagnosed. I felt very safe and reassured when eating here.
- EmmaH397 (10/5): Above and Beyond - What a Premier Inn. We stayed for a Katy Perry concert. Upon arrival they had decorated the reception and bar for a ‘Katy Perry pre party’. They had organised quizzes and mocktails for all the kids staying (even the poor builders who were surrounded by tweenagers got involved!) and made it all so much more exciting. After the gig they had laid out water for guests staying (we were all very grateful after a night of singing our lungs out). They staff were all lovely, so welcoming and helpful. Well above and beyond. The room was exactly as a Premier Inn always is, comfy, clean and warm. The breakfast was great too.
- scotsjimbo (8/5): Reliable - It's been a few years since I last stayed here and now the ground floor Reception area has been made over to offer a more welcoming experience. Seating and desks provide a place to sit and pass the time, or catch up on emails etc. The restaurant/bar area has also been transformed into the Social brand, which is being rolled out at some city centre Premier Inns. My side facing 3rd floor room was well insulated from the outside world, thanks to good secondary double glazing. The air con operated quietly and quickly warmed the room up. I stayed on a Thursday night for only £41 and the hotel wasn't that busy. Just as well, as the rooms still suffer from noise intrusion from the neighbouring room via the wall with the TV mounted on it. The location is good for those in town for shopping and the theatre. It is quite hilly in the immediate area, so if you're arriving by train, taking the tram up the hotel is a good idea.
- JaneL273 (10/5): Couldnt have asked for more. - I spent 2 nights staying at this Premier Inn. This hotel chain is my go to so i have been to many but what i would say is Meadowhall is the nicest hotel i have been to. The staff were fantastic, friendly, happy, helpful, patient, nothing was too much trouble the best Premier Inn i have ever been to for staff. They took pride in their hotel. Had it not been for Christine i would not have known about the tram, nor would i have been to Sheffield city centre. Staff (and that is everyone) i give 10/10. I would have no hesitation to return or recommemd this hotel.
- Yaan606 (4/5): Did not get my good night's sleep both nights. - Couldn't get a good night's sleep, footfall noise from floor above woke me up a few times and after complaining i was told normally they would offer me another room due to having no availability they couldn't offer me a different room.
- X70SUvanessah (10/5): **Brilliant Service & Super Friendly** - After a very long day travelling we arrived at Premier Inn Sheffield City Centre (Angel Street) and the service and welcome we received was great and very much appreciated. Both Netti and Wendy were helpful, friendly, and really seemed to enjoy working at the hotel. The room was also really nice, clean, and quiet as you would expect from Premier Inn. 5 *****
- mabu423 (8/5): Ok but tired - Friendly staff, but the hotel could do with a referb starting to look very tired. Stayed to go to a consert was ok for a night wouldnt want to stay for two nights. But not a reflection on the staff who were all great.
- Coastal553708 (4/5): Hotel is ok but avoid the evening meal - I stayed overnight and booked the meal deal.
The hotel is in a convenient location, easy walking distance to Meadowhall, with plenty of parking. The room was fine and I slept well.
Evening meal was a disaster. The hotel doesn't have a separate 'brewers fayre' type dining area - it's just a small number of tables off reception. It's got no atmosphere. It has a very limited menu both for food and drinks.
I ordered the curry and pint of lager. Curry was nuclear hot with almost no flavour. The lager was like a pint of soda water. Waited over twenty minutes for someone to clear the plates and then gave up and left. They seemed to be chronically short of staff.
Breakfast was fine.
I would stay at the hotel again but would eat out next time.
- S6300OBcarolef (10/5): Outstanding service, and wonderful staff - We were blown away by the welcome and service we received at this hotel during our recent stay. A special mention must go to Netti and Wendy on the check-in bar and restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They dealt with our inability to use the electronic check-in with sympathy and efficiency, remembered who we were and gave us the personal touch by asking about our day and remembering details about what we'd been doing.
We took advantage of the reasonable meal deals and were served by the same ladies who remained cheerful throughout our large party's requests and changes of mind, and always had smiles and friendly comments.
In addition to all this, we were allowed to leave our suitcases for free whilst we danced at a morris dancing event the next morning, and were then welcomed back to pick them up and get changed before heading off, despite having checked out of our rooms earlier that morning. What a wonderful service, and what lovely people. Thank you so much for making our stay so special and memorable.
- Happylou2 (10/5): Well done Netti & Wendy 👏👏 - we had a meal in the hotel restaurant during our stay in Sheffield & I had mentioned to one of the staff that I was so cold due to the air con whilst paying & she gave me a free coffee to enjoy in my room to help me warm up. The staff on duty were Nettie & Wendy & were both very attentive during our meal 😊
- lisawR1581OQ (10/5): A great stay at the Premier Inn - A pleasurable stay and convenient location to the City Hall where we were seeing Level 42. Comfiest bed (as advertised) ive stayed in in a while, food & drink excellent! Streamless check in/out and the prices were reasonable. Staff accommodating.
- C4283BVrobertw (10/5): Comfortable and pleasant stay. - Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room. Restaurant on site, good evening meal and breakfast. Within 5 minute walk Meadowhall shopping centre. Will definitely use again.
- sheilasX8850WT (10/5): Very pleasant overnight stay. - I stayed overnight to attend a wedding. The room was lovely, clean and quite spacious as it was a double. The bed was really comfortable and I slept like a baby! It was a quiet location, even with a train line relatively close, I only heard an occasional rumble, nothing compared to where I live, and it didnt disturb me!
The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was lovely. I would not hesitate to stay there again.😊
- garybS4042CL (6/5): Typical premier inn lovely comfy room! Lack of parking and the 20mins i had to leave the boys infuriates me!! - My boys 10th birthday travelled from the wirral 2 hours to go to yardball which he loved! Chose Angel street as it was ideal location for it! When looking on the icons there is a clear P icon which to me indicates parking! Didnt read offsite parking till I got here! Had to park quickly down the side street! Got to reception for 8:30 no one here self checkin!! Got the boys to the room which was then I read offsite parking a 5min walk apparently! Gets down to my car and luckily the traffic warden let me off if I moved it straight away! Put in the 5 min walk car park into sat nav and to get to it i had to drive 10 mins around the rabbit Warren of sheffield!! Finally got to the carpark and it said that if I come back before I put my car in to the Ringo app I can get a discount code from reception and it will cost me £12.50 instead of the £20 it did cost me cos there is no one in reception!! Not happy with all of this at all!!
- H7840RDnicolam (6/5): Not great for Premier Inn - Not great for a Premier Inn. Could do with an update/revamp. Room quite dated, broken curtain, uncomfortable single bed, no bedside table, very cramped family room. Battery cover missing from thermostat. Bathroom needed complete overhaul - very very noisy extractor fan, black mould on ceiling & around bath, ground in marks on sink, needs updating.
- L2091UTashleyw (10/5): Nice friendly staff - Very helpful staff especially the bald guy on the check in . Clean room , good food ,great service . I would stay again .felt safe , the car park was well lit and your only a stones throw from the tram and shopping centre .
- W3448BJcarolw (10/5): Lovely overnight stay in Sheffield - We chose this hotel for an overnight stay as we were attending a show at City Hall. 7 minute walk to Hall. This Premier Inn like many didn't disappoint.
A really clean well run city centre hotel. Staff very friendly and attentive.
Breakfast was very well organised with fresh well cooked food. Both our room and public areas were very clean. A little noise from the street when window was open but that's to be expected given the city centre location but once windows closed very quiet. We would definitely use this hotel again.
Thank you for a lovely stay.
- C4053RDcatherinea (10/5): Very friendly and professional service provided by Antony and Chantelle! - Excellent service provided by Antony and Chantelle, they couldn't do enough to help us. Food was very nice and service was exceptional.
- X4054QCrichardm (10/5): Very nice first stay - Very enjoyable stay, staff were all excellent and food/drink was good quality and reasonably priced. Anthony booked me in and served me during the evening along with his colleague who didn’t get the name of, sorry.
- 65sallier (4/5): Poor experience for a premier inn - Poor check in nobody available
Bathroom skin very dirty
Fan in bathroom ridiculously loud
Corridors were not clean dirty skirting boards and cobwebs on light fittings
- lindamariesnow (10/5): Great location - We use this particular Premier Inn every year, Ideally located for the train station and the coach station. Within walking distance to the shops cafe's and bars and the City Hall and other theatre venues. The food is good and great value for money especially the breakfast. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The beds are comfortable and the rooms and bathrooms very clean. Tea, coffee, sugar milk, mugs and a kettle in the rooms and extra tea, coffee and milk if needed in reception area. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
- FantaStrawbs (6/5): Not bad could be better - Over all a good stay.
Very hot rooms and the fan provided was awful, noisy and just not fit for use.
Staff pleasant, room clean and tidy but did have an odd aroma, nothing some cheap aftershave didn’t get rid of.
I’d stay here again, but I’d take my own fan or fans.
- Ertug (6/5): - Room is clean, servise is good, sleep is perfect.
- Sherpa35661808917 (10/5): Thanks Premier Inn - Very close to tram. Clean, comfortable, great sleep. Outside is not the most scenic but is central, I would definitely use this Premier Inn again!
- RobertG356 (6/5): Does the job but not up to the usual Premier Inn standards - Quick overnight stop at this Premier Inn with the family, it does the job but it's probably the most tired looking Premier Inn I've stayed in for quite a while. No major problems but the lack of lift, general tardiness of the building and bedrooms just takes the edge off
- A293LWallanf (10/5): Prime city centre spot - We had a really good stay at the Premier Inn on Angel Street. The location is spot on.
The room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed.
Staff were genuinely lovely, friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was tasty with plenty of choice.
The only downside slow free Wi-Fi and no on-site parking.
Overall a great value stay for a Friday night
- paulanV7345NV (8/5): Good value hotel - Clean quiet comfortable room. No frills stay which was all I needed. Quietest hotel I've stayed in recently. I'm originally from Sheffield so I know the area, if I was a new visitor I would find the area around the hotel worrying. Very run down and scruffy.
- sandratalton61 (10/5): Excellent stay - Very friendly welcoming staff. Immaculate clean room. Very comfortable bed. Quiet and peaceful. Have visited many times and will definitely be back.
- louisemI5861PF (10/5): Fantastic thank you - Tina was fantastic, very polite and friendly. Fantastic smile. Very attentive and great service. Would definitely come back!
- Z1297MKcarlb (10/5): Laura on reception - I had issues checking in because of a problem at my company end. Laura on reception was great and kept checking the computer to see if the booking had come through. She even gave me a drink while I waited. Very friendly and extremely helpful.
- coley_713 (2/5): Good Night Sleep NON-Guarantee! - Stayed here the night before an important meeting. The fire alarm went off at 1am in the morning, meaning the whole hotel had to be evacuated. It took over 1 hour before we were allowed back in the hotel. Whilst I appreciate safety of people is of paramount importance, what i do not agree with is the Premier Inn Good Night Sleep Guarantee.
I failed to have a good night sleep, which was both obvious and quantifiable from the events above. Premier Inn refused to refund the night stay due to a fire alarm being an exclusion of the guarantee. What i should have done was make up a lie to substantiate the poor night sleep. The poor night sleep was obvious, but apparently using a non-substantiated excuse for it should have been the route to go down in order to get a refund.
After staying in the Premier Inn for a total of 20 nights already this calendar year, I will not be using their chain for the remainder.
- deborahgY2138DL (10/5): Simply the best, better than all the rest! - Staff are top class, extremely helpful, polite and welcoming. Rooms were spotless and cleaned to perfection. I work for a well known top notch store and I also have holiday lets, I'd employ any of the staff at this branch of Premier Inn in a flick of a eye lid. I don't usually rant and rave about how good something is, I'm quite critical, all I can say is it's simply the best, better than the one I've paid 3 or4 times more for! Wrotham Premier, you rock!
- chrisjohngoodchild (4/5): Unpleasant and not clean - No key card for the room, machine was broke so had to ask staff member each time we wanted to get back into the room and access other areas of the hotel.
The room smelt musty and damp, not pleasant to sleep in and the bathroom to room had hairs on the wall from previous occupants. Not been cleaned. The USB chargers burnt out also so unable to charge phone next to bed for alarm call.
Staff on arrival apologetic and trying to resolve issues, the staff next morning not so.
Would not recommend staying, look at Travel Inn around the corner as alternative.
- sallyrJ6559XM (8/5): Good stay, bar a couple of issues - The room was as expected, all ok and clean. Be careful when parking at the recommended car park - the receptionist at check in didn’t explain this to me or point out the info on a poster at reception. Read the information carefully! Friday night was nice and quiet but Saturday night was busier and noisier until after midnight.
- debic307 (4/5): Avoid - The staff make this hotel but that was the only positive. Black mold on the bathroom door, which we were told is frequently wiped down with bleach. Large hair in the bath. No sound proofing. Noise was awful. Small fan they gave us cut out in the night. No resturant/pub next door. Only informed by email but seems to have closed down a while ago.
- Exploration297377 (10/5): A relaxing stay at Premier Inn. - Staff were friendly, polite and efficient but not intrusive; check in was quick, room very clean.
Breakfast choice was excellent.....hot breakfast was cooked exceptionally well.
- 10340g (4/5): Let down as no there to drink or a meal - Excellent hotel let down by lack of a place to have a drink or meal within walking distance. The restaurant next door had closed down and shows no sign of reopening. Why was I not prewarned? Had to drive somewhere to get a meal. Having driven for over 7hours already I really did not sent to do that.
- stevebrazier66 (4/5): NO RESTAURANT!!!!!!!!!!But still says restaurant on their site - Not sure why I am writing this because Premier Inn just ignore them.
So you book your room and it says it has a restaurant, so you book an evening meal with my allowance through work.
You check in and find that the adjacent restaurant is closed. So no where to eat in the evening
PRICELESS. How is this chain still going, I HAVE to stay in them as work has an account. But if it is your own money please just book somewhere else.
They did do breakfast but the were 2 slices of bread left for toast 2 bananas that looked like they had been there since Friday last week.
Unfortunately the staff are so pushed due to Premier inn cutting staff numbers. But still increasing their rates !!!
I am now going to stay at Holiday inns and put the extra in(sometimes cheaper than PI)
- Fearless14662252796 (8/5): Comfortable Budget Accommodation. - Reasons for booking - location & reasonable cost. Good bed, food on site, parking adjacent. Great for overnight business trip, as a base to see family and friends, explore the local area but would not choose as a normal holiday location i.e. location simply functional.
But, if weather is hot, there is little ventilation, no AC only a free-standing fan.
- X7750LPjasonh (10/5): All round good - Very nice stay.
Laura on reception was lovely.
The shower markings need to be clearer. As I cant find the right temp.
This is me uping up the character limit
- Escape19505065929 (8/5): My stay at premier inn maidstone/sevenoaks - We checked in with polite and helpful staff, the room was very clean and well equipped with necessities, and we found the bed very comfy. Downsides were that the room was very hot and not suitable for the heatwave we were experiencing due to a lack of air conditioning, a fan was provided but this didn't do very much. And the basic wifi was very poor quality. Definitely would return here, but probably not during the hottest part of summer. Still had a lovely stay.
- K2288GVchrisl (6/5): All fine - Decent hotel for a quick night stop; not too much around. Room was very hot without any cooling, but was a hot day. Nothing special but meets expectations for a roadside Premier Inn
- annmariew125 (10/5): Great Stay - Had a recent stay at this Premier Inn, although abit dated the room was very clean and the staff do what ever they can to ensure you have a great stay , even left us a welcome gift with a note to say they hope we enjoy our stay. It’s in a perfect location to get straight back in the motorway too .
- hockeyshooter (10/5): Clean, quiet and reasonable value - I used this hotel for a weekend at Brands Hatch. Although close to both the M26 and right next to a railway line, its actually very quiet. Lots of parking space and next to a Shell fuel station, which is handy if you're doing a track day. Breakfasts and evening meals are available at the adjacent Beefeater. Would certainly use this hotel again in future.
- andrewbF3905YK (10/5): Great hotel - Very warm and pleasant welcome, comfortable and clean room, peaceful and overall very nice stay. Reception staff very helpful and chatty and although we didn't get to use it, beefeater restaurant right next door. Overall great place to stay
- F5959STgarethw (10/5): Reception - When we arrived at reception, Laura was incredibly helpful and charming, she was so helpful with all our enquiries., wven offered to book our restaurant table for us. Would not hesitate to book this Premier Inn if ever we come to Kent in the future
