Guest Reviews
- lucysB4412OH (10/5): Great stay - Great experience, wonderful staff especially Monike who went above and beyond to make our trip extra special she remembered it was my birthday and popped goodies in our room. Such a great stay.
- georgegK9503HJ (10/5): Welcoming - Just stayed at the premier inn on hagley road in birmingham.
Lovely atmosphere and friendly and helpful staff.
The room was clean and well kept. Worth the money.
- victormY7193MX (10/5): Premier Plus Rooms - My wife and I had the opportunity to get a Premier Plus Room, the additional comfort was worth the cost. The walk in shower is welcoming and relaxing. The room furniture and bed offer all the comfort you could ever need from a hotel room. We highly recommend Premier Plus rooms as they are well worth the additional cost.
- abbycB101XV (10/5): Excellent service, food and restaurant - Lovely meal in the hotel restaurant tonight. Served by Jazz where she greeted us with a smile and was continually checking on how everything was. She seemed to be the only one taking orders and serving food, but this didn't let her excellent level of service slip.
Restaurant was lovely and cosy and Jazz let us know about the menu deals where we could have 2 courses and a drink for £16.99. Great value, great food and friendly staff. The chef did a great job keeping up with food orders too. Thank you 😊
- ukundercover (10/5): Great stay in North Devon - We’ll locate Premier Inn on the outskirts of Bideford. I stayed in a Premier Plus room for 2 nights which was probably the nicest room I have stayed in across premier inn sites.
Friendly team and good breakfast next door at Brewers Fayre. The price was very good, but it was November so low season for Devon.
Parking is free need to register your car. There’s also a Starbucks and McDonald’s nearby. I think the Plus rooms are worth the extra for the a nicer stay at the right price
- samstring2018 (10/5): Good experience - Good service clean room and good breakfast.
Selina was helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble. All staff encountered were friendly and helpful would defiantly stay again.
- Riverandstream (10/5): Very comfortable stay - My partner and I had a very comfortable 2 night stay here in a Premier Plus accessible room. Lovely comfy king-size bed and super-comfy pillows, spacious bedroom and bathroom, perfectly adequate clothes storage, plenty of choice of lighting including an optional and very useful purple light in the bathroom which acted as a night-light for us, table and chairs, fridge, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, very efficient shower in the wet-room. Everything was very clean and of good quality.
Brewer's Fayre Restaurant a minute's walk across the large carpark.
We will definitely return.
- Craigybaby69 (8/5): nice and easy experience - easy enough experience. Premier inn in birkenhead is easy to find, easy to park and the lady on reception Stacy was very helpful, friendly and gave lots of good advice.
breakfast was nice, all staff very helpful and the room was a typical Premier inn room, comfy bed, good size and great pillows.
- Elenaruth95 (10/5): Outstanding service from Sharon - Sharon truly made our stay at Premier Inn Birkenhead a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, she was incredibly welcoming, kind and attentive. Her professionalism and warm nature made us feel genuinely cared for, and nothing was ever too much trouble.
It’s rare to come across someone who goes above and beyond so naturally, and Sharon is a real credit to the hotel. She brought such a positive energy and made our stay feel extra comfortable and pleasant. Thank you, Sharon, for your exceptional service – you’re amazing!
- hayleyo2024 (4/5): Don't waste your money - We have stayed in many Premier inn all over the place for weekend away and airport stops
But this hotel was not great !!!! The room was fine put we did not know the bar / restaurant did not open till 5pm we would of liked a drink then we booked in instead of going over to tesco over the road . Breakfast was not great we waited 10 mins for anyone to seat us and We did not find breakfast that special overall we found the hotel short staffed and not that welcoming we will not book this hotel again
- Tourist44981587314 (2/5): Very Poor - Room not ready on arrival, so given smaller room, staff arguing in front of us, Meal deal not arranged properly with Brewers Fayre, Wont be staying there again
- stephanieanner (10/5): Excellent value for our 2 night stay. - Great location with paid for parking. A short walk from Hamilton Square station - turn right out of the station, walk straight ahead for about 5-7 mins and you're at the hotel.
Great welcome from reception, efficient check-in. Stacey is legend!
The restaurant team at dinner and breakfast are brilliant. Good restaurant menu for lunch/dinner. Breakfast has lots of options to choose from.
The room was lovely and clean. Good shower (over bath) and super comfy pillows!
- LouM313 (8/5): Great family stay - We stayed for 3 days for a wedding. Location is ideal for surrounding areas. Retail Park next door was great: Starbucks, Domino's, McDonalds, Aldi, Asda all within walking distance.
Rooms are what you expect. Amazingly comfy beds. Hotel was peaceful. Staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Negative: NO Electic car charging points. Really disappointing. Closest one was a 20min walk away. Only 1 charger at the local independent petrol station. My husband drove the car there, and walked back while it charged. Then walked back again to collect once full. We knew this before we went, but very few car charging points in the area so chose Premier Inn based on cost factor.
- kathrynsB4988BH (10/5): Great stay - Great hotel location, very quiet. Clean, tidy rooms as expected and easy check in and check out experience. Breakfast was well organised considering they were full.
- jodigP2241EX (10/5): Great Premier Inn - I have stayed at this hotel several times and there is a reason I keep coming back. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The free parking is a huge bonus. The rooms are always clean and of a good standard - the recent refurbishment has been a great addition. The hotel is always quiet, despite the location. Thank you as always for a wonderful stay.
- kieran137 (4/5): Wouldn't stay again. - Cooked breakfast wasnt very good. Evening meal is only served between 1700 and 2030 but I couldn't see this advertised. We were at the bar for at least 5 minutes waiting to order before someone appeared. Someone finally arrived at 2033 to tell us we were 3 minutes late to order any food!! The highlight of our weekend there was Alan working the bar on the friday night.
- GeorgieB82 (8/5): Small but convenient hotel - Smallest Premier Inn I have stayed in but perfect location to explore The Wirral and Liverpool.
Hotel is dated with poor ventilation in bathrooms and condensation on windows. Bedrooms clean and comfortable though.
Think staff were stressed and abrupt, potentially due to staffing issues as only saw three different staff members all weekend.
- natashasE4825CK (10/5): The amazing receptionist Janet - Since we checked in Janet has been absolutely amazing made us feel welcome on arrival and through out our stay she bought my husband a birthday cake and a bottle of Prosecco she is a credit too the company thank you again Janet 🙂 xx
- L332VVjoannep (2/5): Avoid - Avoid at all cost. Dirty room, drink stains on bedside table (one wipe with a cloth would have removed it), lazy ignorant abusive staff member. Premier inn at its worst.
- V5808HGbevb (10/5): Clean, welcoming and good value ! - Easy parking - stepped into reception to be greeted warmly by a lady who was so friendly, like a long lost friend !
Comfy bed ( I did buy a mattress the same make ) and nice restful sleep .
Ventured out to a Thai restaurant 5 mins away so didn’t eat there .
Clean , comfortable and value for money !
- I5472WMgrahamc (10/5): Visited - Excellent service from Alison Melanie and Jo, made very welcome and lovely delicious food and drink.
Thoroughly recommend a visit.

- heatheroZ8402QB (10/5): Bideford offers alot. - On the whole the first impression of the hotel is very good: built in some form of brick, then an extension which is showing its age and would benefit from painting.
Inside the atmosphere is very good, and reception very efficient: especially Janet who is very welcoming.
The hotel appears very clean, an excellent job by the cleaners. Largely unseen but a very important part of the team.
Noise is very good, in the sense that there is very little.
Location is excellent, very close to food outlets and a supermarket; and is across the road from the shopping outlet.
- alfredcook2018 (10/5): Business Trip - Staff were friendly and welcoming, room comfortable spacious. The hotel and room was clean and fresh. Happily use again if in the area.
- Spider123456 (4/5): Avoid at all cost! - This place is awful! Stayed in room 114. It’s dirty & dated. Room smells like a dirty house, mix of nice biscuits, chip fat, damp and generally the great unwashed! The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned properly, it’s totally gross! Although the bed is clean. Although dirty stained headboard. You can’t even open the window for fresh air. Had to spay deodorant to try to get rid of smell. Couldn’t wait to leave. Didn’t even have a shower as it was so awful. I took food to eat in room, couldn’t even eat it as was put off. Awful place. Staff are nice. I wouldn’t be rushing back
- MarkCarrick (8/5): Good hotel which is well located to the ferry port - This is a very good well situated hotel near the ferry port, Stacey on reception is fantastic and was able to help me with directions to the port. The car park is good and the check in process very good. The room was clean and up to the usual premier inn standard which was great. My only negative issue was the noise of children in the corridor when I was trying to sleep, I had to be up at 6am the next morning for the ferry and in spite of the signs up to be quiet they were very noisy running up and down the corridor and slammed doors.
- 546ChrisH546 (2/5): Terrible - Hands down the worst Premier Inn I’ve ever stayed at. Got to the hotel early as spending the day in Liverpool and obviously couldn’t check in. By the time we got back to the hotel that evening we were told they’d run out of key cards so had to be escorted back up to our rooms every time we went out.
Bathroom was filthy (toilet clearly not cleaned) and plaster coming off the ceiling. Kids picking up bacon straight out of the hot plate and putting it back in with no one saying anything to them.
£130 per night is way over priced. Pay extra and stay in Albert Dock!
- C5427VAvickyf (8/5): Great example of a Premier Inn - Good value and a great example of a Premier inn! Great sized and comfortable room, friendly, reassuring and professional staff. Great location and alternative for staying in Liverpool city centre.
- 744sarahm744 (6/5): Tired but happy. - Cheapest hotel on the Wirral. I thought it would be the same as other Premier Inns but this one is tired. Bed not very comfy, too hot all night, hairdryer not working, electrics hanging off the wall. Masses of room for car parking outside but you get charged for it. Air con works after a fashion but goes off every 6 hours, windows don't open. Smelly public areas. My room was fairly clean even though it was tatty. If using the car park pay at the machine otherwise you don't get your discount. Wetherspoons one block away does a good breakfast at half the price. The hotel is handy for central Birkenhead and public transport but I won't stay there again. The Glen Affric brewery is open at the weekend in the evening. The beer is very good.
- grahamcu (2/5): Bideford Premier Inn expensive disappointment. - Location was good. After booking and paying was then told building works in progress with limited parking, luckily we got a parking spot on arrival. Booked a Premier Plus room and even though it was clean we didn't want and require a disabled room. Due to being a timber frame construction very little sleep was experienced due to noise from the room above. Only one set of towels in room, limited meal times that didn't suit, builders dust and footprints along some corridors. Meals were expensive and poor quality for what you get and certainly not worth the money. I had a runny chicken curry with about four pieces of chicken, and came with chips and not rice would have been nice to have had the option and poppadom or Naan bread would have been good. Drinks options on meal deal not worth having and to restrictive.
Overall a very disappointing experience costing towards £200 which for the quality of what we received is disgusting.
- markyd_13 (8/5): Member of staff was an absolute credit to the hotel! - Upon arriving there was no one at the desk. There was a button to press for someone but that had been removed? Started trying to check in on touch screen but seemed to be hassle, touch screen not very touch sensitive. Someone came over in the end. They started checking us in but that had leave us to someone else as there seemed to some sort of agro going on with what seemed to be a drug user and her sneaking someone else into her room? Wasn't really a great look for the hotel and made myself and my partner feel little uneasy tbh. I'm glad I didn't have kids with me. Had to watch the lady mouthing off as she stuffed her pockets full of free coffee and tea near the reception door! Finally got checked in with the other member of staff and went to our room. Took the stairs as we didn't want to be in the loft with the woman that had been causing all the commotion.
Went on a night out. Came back and easily got through front doors with out key and there was a friendly member of staff. Room was a lovely temperature. Great bed and bedding. Didn't sleep that well but I don't think that was down to anything in the room. Curtains were great and room was very dark...which was great for the morning! Also, the late 12pm checkout has always been a bonus!
What really made our stay though, was we decided to have breakfast there for the first time. We weren't sure how to go about it but a lovely blonde lady, we didn't see her name on her tag, but this was Saturday 4th October ....All I will say, is she went above and beyond to help us with breakfast. Explained we could pay there as we hadn't booked. She was more than attentive to our needs as we are both vegan. Just an all round lovely person, who, like I say in the title was a credit to the hotel as a staff member. The breakfast was absolutely lovely.....not often you see vegan bacon on a menu anywhere and all you can eat for £10.99 was a bargain ....and we weren't frowned upon for filling out plates for that! Look forward to coming back!
- Connector812951 (4/5): Not good enough - Floor was dirty, dust and debris was present. No fridge. The WiFi was very slow. No smart TV. Bed wasn't made during room service.
- PeterDavis2 (10/5): Great Hotel in a good location - This Premier was only 5 minutes walk to Hamilton Square where about 10 trains an hour run into Liverpool with a good choice of stops for main attractions, which is why we chose it.
The Inn itself was as I would expect, but the staff really were very good
- FGoesToHinchleyWood (6/5): A shower straight out of 'Psycho' - You expect a certain standard from a Premier Inn and this one wasn't too bad, but lacking someone looking at the details. The soap dispenser in the bathroom is at eye level and the top was rusty. The a/c fan made a clonking noise like a car running on one punctured tyre, the 'legendary' pillows were ordinary pillows but it was the shower that was most jarring, it yowled the moment you switched it on. That might be fine but we arrived at midnight and felt we were waking up the whole hotel as it screamed out water. And apparently you have to ask if you want them to make up the room for the next day.
Staff were very helpful and it hasn't put us off going to another Premier Inn, it just needs someone to check rooms thoroughly.
- 87kiand (10/5): Exemplary customer service - Katie and mark at the front were very welcoming especially since I didn’t know if I was in the right hotel in the first place super friendly and helpful.
- Dreamer47618667279 (10/5): highly recommend!! - excellent stay! coming into the carpark was a bit worrisome but once in the building everything is as it should be.
all the staff are super friendly and helpful, especially the receptionist emma who went out of her way to make our stay super comfortable!
i always have the best stays at premier inns but this one went above and beyond
- AlanTB_UK (4/5): Hotel OK but not with building and restricted parking - Building work underway means less parking...and mess, and because of the number of new homes also being built next door it is full of tradesmen and their oversized vans meaning parking is even worse. I stayed here to go to a funeral and at the time of trying to depart for teh funeral the car park was rammed with delivery lorries trying to unload building materials. I could only get my car out through the help of other guests moving their cars...awful. The Brewers Fayre across the way were complaining that their customers couldn't park as well. Navigating the corridors with plastering and painting underway was not great!
- S4997TBrayh (8/5): Good - When arrived room not ready due to staff mixup but the lovely Janet on the desk sorted it .all the staff very helpful breakfast good apart from cold plates again staff in restaurant where all helpful .
- Hayelord (8/5): Very good (despite messy surrounding buildings!) - Very good once inside (outside is a bit grubby with some vacant property nearby)
Everything clean and tidy (as per usual with Premier Inn)
Lady serving tables at breakfast super friendly and helpful - great to start the day with someone like that.
- Yogitheelder (10/5): A good stopover. - The lodge was perfect for us to tour North Devon and located just off the A39. It was comfortable and located with a restaurant and other feeding outlets within walking distance. The lodge was quiet, comfortable and perfect for our needs.
- flojoro2022 (6/5): Nice bedroom. Yuk bathroom. - Nice local location. Bar area we didn't use but looked lovely and the food smells were rather nice.
Room itself was as you'd expect from a premier inn. Bed was big and comfortable, extra pillows available. Air con was good, as well as the tea and comfy facilities. The room was also not as small as some other premier inns we have stayed at.
The bathroom however was a different story.
Good points .... hot water and good water pressure.
Bad points ... broken shower door that got stuck every time it was slid open or closed. Mould on shower tiles. Broken vanity unit. Cobwebs / dust along the edges of the broken vanity unit, which was a lot! It almost looked like it was crumbling or held together with paper glue. No ventilation / extractor fan in the bathroom either.
- Lafayettebound (8/5): Superb welcome - I'd give 10 stars for the absolutely golden receptionist, who made my stay an absolute joy.
I had one of the tastiest pizzas ever.
The bed was extremely comfortable, as was everything about the room.
The one star was lost by those little things that a huge company like this should see to:
slamming doors in the stairwell; a broken "call for staff" button on the check in desk that wasn't a recent problem; mould and dirt on the wall and ceiling above the bathroom door.
But the friendliest welcome ever, so I'd definitely return.
- Locksmith59 (10/5): Premier Inn Bideford ... Atlantic Way - We stayed 3 nights at Premier Inn Bideford once again while visiting RHS Rosemoor in Torrington.
It is undergoing Room Upgrades so was very busy during the day with Workmen (This didn't really affect us though)
The new Rooms are excellent ... ours one that had only been occupied for 7 nights previously.
As usual a warm welcome (our 3rd time at this hotel) with a very quick check-in. We were asked to report any problems with our room as it was so newly refurbed. Pleased to say no problems at all.
The carpark very busy but no problem getting a space (and no parking charge (Bonus 👍😉👍)
Thank you Premier Inn Bideford
5☆☆☆☆☆ 👍
- meetoo99 (2/5): Great hotel terrible car park payment system. - We stayed for 5 days. The hotel is acceptable, the staff were great. However the car park. It is run by a private company. They have no on site staff, you pay via a phone App or an on site machine. Neither the on site machine or the App would accept our non UK phone number and so we couldn't pay. During our stay I emailed the car park company outlining the problem. Their response was that they couldn't help and that I would have to appeal against the penalty notice. We later discovered it was our foreign phone number at fault. Terrible situation Premier Inn. We await the penalty notice / fine.
- 863hughw (10/5): Excellent service - The friendly helpfulness of all the staff was especially appreciated. The bedroom was very comfortable and breakfast just what we expected.
- sandrasB9805YI (10/5): Great Stay - My room and bathroom were immaculate and the team members I saw were very friendly and helpful. I will certainly stay there again in the future.
- babslewis1955 (10/5): Great place to stay - Great place to stay, good if you can a deal as can be a bit over priced (£119 for a Wednesday night) but could be better if booked well in advance. Affinity shopping centre is walking distance, Bideford town about a 30 minute walk or five minute drive
- TONYVOLLER (4/5): Business stay - It’s quite an experience because you have to go through an old disused TGI Friday car park which is screwed with rubbish junk etc !!
Also quite dark
The room are acceptable clean and tidy
I did mention to reception on three occasions that the lift to the floors was absolutely filthy
They couldn’t care less
For that reason we didn’t eat in the
Restaurant
Just makes you think of the hygiene standards behind the scenes
- 358livm (10/5): A staff team to be proud of and a fantastic stay. - I was here for work and couldn’t have had a better stay! All the staff on shift between 1st and 3rd were incredible! I’m writing this a day early of my check out because I already know they’ll be amazing tomorrow too. They were the kindest bunch of people and as a manager I’d be proud to say they were part of my team! Room was spotless and food was great too!
- patrickdQ6061UA (8/5): Very good clean. Staff friendly - Water was warm to cold.
When I had my morning shower.
Breakfast was good.
Coffee machine. Was fix quickly
I think one more staff at breakfast for the rush.
- maffski (2/5): Very poor. - Location is good. The room was very dirty lots of dust on surfaces and there were several hairs on the bed. I had the meal plan the cooked breakfast was poor the poached eggs came out fried and over done and the hash browns were like greasy mush. Evening meal was a handful of greasy fries and mushy fish, it was the type you get frozen in a box. All staff I encountered were very polite and friendly.
- mohamedsF7771KA (10/5): Had. Brilliant stay - Had a great time staying at Hagley Road Premier Inn for 1 night on 24 August 2025 . The Receptionist was very helpful and friendly. The second floor room we were allocated looked brand new . It was very spacious. There was only 1 bath towel in the bathroom but the Receptionist gave us an extra 2 towels when we asked for another towel . No complaints whatsoever.
- Cruiser38732971563 (8/5): Always good - Staff members are always helpful. We have stayed here 4 times and never had issue. We are going to be back. Breakfast is good, wide selection.
- Vinoth0307 (4/5): Not so great experience. - The Room size , cleanliness , restaurant staff and the breakfast are all of top quality. My family really enjoyed it.
But we are really disappointed with the reception staff and the check-in process which spoiled the whole experience. Firstly, the staff checked us into a wrong room. I carried all the luggage and my infant to the room only to find that it was already occupied. The staff has no idea when I got back to her and was waiting in the reception for good 30 minutes. She sorted it and gave key for a different room which she could have done without making us wait. By this time, my infant got upset and started crying. Worst part, is the staff warned us about the noise complaint due to my infant cry. I was really upset that all this could have been avoided if she had done her job correctly instead of blaming my baby. Really disappointed with the her behaviour and attitude towards my family.
- LongfellowUk (8/5): Clean and quiet - Nice clean and quiet hotel and very handy for restaurant next door.
Very helpful manager and simple booking in process.
- W5351EZkarent (6/5): Amazing welcome, by the one team member that was there. - When we checked in we were met by a lovely young lady by the name if Jas, she was bright happy & smiling. Little mix up with room key but quickly sorted. Room was lovely and clean as was the bathroom. We had the meal deal booked for evening and breakfast, the choice of menu was very poor curry, spag bol, fish and chips or pizza with puddings being ice cream, brownie or fruit salad. Very poor value. The bar was run by happy Jas as was the kitchen, she cooked our meal she was then seen to be making beds!!!, apart from a young man who didn't seem to know what to do, she was the only staff member in the building!!! Not at all safe. Not very happy with the way this premier inn was run. Jas was amazing always smiling and doing her best.
- BhupinderChane (10/5): Clean and Friendly, but AC Let Us Down - The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the rooms were clean and well-presented. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was not working during our stay, which was disappointing as it was a key reason for choosing this hotel. As a result, the room temperature was quite uncomfortable. We hope this issue is addressed soon, as the hotel has great potential otherwise.
- loubiel2025 (2/5): Disgusting - Never in my life will I stay at this hotel again! Staff are rude and don’t care that you need to be served they just stand there talking. The breakfast is vile I had the full English but didn’t end up eating any of it it wasn’t very nice I did mention it too the member of staff but they wasn’t interested and wouldn’t give me a refund. Also we ended up leavening the hotel early due to noise and the room wasn’t clean there was cereal under the bed , bath was mucky, bed sheets had stains on them. When I left the hotel I got back home to find out my house keys weren’t in my bag so I travelled back too the hotel to check the room to find my photos outta my bag thrown on the floor but no keys. It seems to me that someone was in my room . Crossiants was warmed up in the microwave.I will be making a formal complaint to premier inn.
- Z7127TRnicolac (10/5): Pleasant trip - Clean and comfortable stay. Staff were efficient, professional and friendly. Good value for money and the food in the restaurant was good.
- Andy0166 (2/5): Car parking is not free - Went to visit my Daughter and Granddaughter and drove down for the weekend. No signage about car parking charges in the car park and I have never had any parking issues in the past when I stayed here to see family. However two weeks after staying at the premier inn bideford paying exorbitant summer holiday rates I just received two parking charges bills totalling £120 (£60 per day of my stay), do not make this mistake and read any parking signs in the car park very carefully. Complete rip off.
- milliel644 (2/5): A hostel NOT hotel - We had 4 rooms and several things went wrong during our 4-5 day stay.
Room 15 - no air conditioning, the room was boiling. We asked them to fix it, no feedback. When we went to desk they told us it was fixed but still, no air was coming out. Eventually a fan was offered for a room where the windows cannot be opened.
Room 19 - the hair dryer was broken, it only blew old air. I asked them for a change but they never came.
Room 42 - the bathroom door lock was broken. We reported it but after 5 days nothing was done. They didn’t even give us an update.
None of our rooms was ever cleaned during the Tuesday - Monday (5 day) stay. Apparently there’s a tag on the door and you need to hand it to the reception to request for a clean. No one explained this to us when we checked in. We checked in at different times, but this information was continently forgotten every single time??!!!
