Guest Reviews
- yvonnev802 (10/5): Fantastic place - Fantastic accommodations and location. Friendly staff that spoke enough English to help us. Highly recommend it to tourist looking to be part of the city
- vpirun (10/5): Great Location - Premier inn standard same for all places. Location is perfect for walking around city center. Parking garage is difficult to find. Opposite parking is better choice.
- 569stewartc (8/5): Great weekend in Dorchester - good hotel with loads of restaurants and bars close by Convenient access from Railway station Dorchester South and a quick walk into Dorchester town
Staff very good and welcoming We will be back
- M2984WWsaraf (4/5): Disappointed - I feel guilty leaving negative feedback as I appreciate working in the hospitality industry is hard. We arrived late and had issues with our keycards and kept having to come down to get a new one as it would only work once and we were bringing things from the car. This did get sorted the next day. The room was dirty. Stains on the toilet seat which I had to clean. Toilet paper on the floor. Hairs on the wall and in the shower. Floor in the bedroom was dirty. We asked the next day for a clean and were reassured it would be sorted but this didn’t happen. We asked again but still didn’t happen so we gave up. The air con didn’t work. The WiFi didn’t work - I paid for premium and it still didn’t work.
The only positive was service at breakfast and the food itself.
We stayed here before and not been disappointed but this stay was not good.
- galeo265 (10/5): Good stay in Dorchester - The bedroom and bathroom were modern. The best Premier Inn we have ever stayed in. Car parking was explained in advance and at reception.
- DKCO (8/5): A better premier inn - Excellent location, standard premier inn rooms and very comfortable bed. Good parking availability and helpful staff.
- travelpig_9 (6/5): Needs better management and reception staff, but ok... - Situated in a convenient, but grim part of Dorchester, this hideously pale blue Lego Brick hotel has the usual combo of qualities for which Premier Inns are known.
The reception was manned by the most unhelpful, obstructive man I have ever encountered as a check-in clerk. Slow, off-hand, ignorant and largely unresponsive. Arrived early, the told it would be £15 to check in early. A quick discussion later, we agreed. He then pointed out that it "needed to be booked yesterday".
We left and came back 2 hours later to be finally checked in. At the room, which was fine, we found he hadn't been given the special tag with the wifi code, so had to go back down 4 floors to get it. In one half of the cases it was used. It failed to work. We had had enough and went out...This place seems to be a "Work in progress" hotel.
Needs work!!
- C7902NEgrahamj (10/5): Great - A great Premier Inn, with easy secure car parking and conformable beds. We ate in the restaurant morning and evening for our three night stay. The choice of food was great and the quality as well as the quantity was excellent.
The staff are all excellent, very friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms and all of the other areas were clean and well maintained.
Unfortunately, some of our party did have some noisy neighbours which did keep them aware until the early hours of the morning.
We will be back!
- philwgb (6/5): Good and bad - Location of hotel and the quality and cleanliness of the room is good but the breakfast was disappointing with some items not available as they were out of stock and so this made it poor value for money.
- Evangeline (2/5): - My laptop was stolen by a member of staff. I entrusted my carryon bag to the hotel staff for a 2 hour period and on my return found my laptop missing from the bag. Management said they reviewed the CCTV footage for the 2 hour period and the staff member was the only person entering the room - so that person should be held accountable. I got no compensation and was told to contact the police as my only remedy. In my view, the hotel is not guest friendly.
- 734nikkit (10/5): We will be back! - Friendly helpful staff. Clean room although hallway needed a better hoover. Quiet with no street noise. Conveniently located for travel, shopping and dining. We will definitely be staying again!
- Bruce (10/5): - Located near restaurants, tourist sites, and museums
- silvio915 (8/5): Comfortable hotel - Very comfortable hotel. Ate in restaurant, staff very friendly, particularly Billy & chef, Michael who prepared some tasty meals. Would suggest more choice of potato (only choice was chips). Experienced problems with TV, remote didn't work & found it difficult to switch off at TV!
- 772vinceb (10/5): Relaxing stay - Very relaxed atmosphere, lovely and quiet had three lovely nights sleep. We paid for the meal deal which was breakfast and dinner. Great value for money the food in the restaurant is excellent.
Rooms are very clean and well maintained. Staff are professional, helpful and friendly. Location is ideal for exploring the various museums in the area.
You will have to pay £4 per night for secure underground parking, which is very reasonable compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at. Highly recommended for a stay in Dorchester.
- U2TRchristinew (10/5): Excellent Stay - Ideal location, parking in the underground Car Park was easy. Rooms lovely and clean and comfortable. The Inn was quiet, well organised, light and clean in all areas.
The restaurant was very comfortable, clean and well managed. As a vegan I had a good choice of food, the Chef was very accommodating and cooked vegan sausage for breakfast. Excellent Value. Our only concern the staff in the restaurant appeared to have a very heavy workload. They never complained and made every Customer feel valued and bent over backwards to accommodate all diets. Thank you for a great stay.
- Rosielexplorer (10/5): Central location - The room was comfortable, clean, easy to find and well located for a short stay.
All went as expected and the semi flexible option gave enough flexibility required.
- chrisdS4991AF (8/5): Great place to stay over for touring cyclist - Premier Inn is still a reliable pace to stay for a cyclist. Great rooms, bed and bathroom. Excellent early breakfast. Evening meals are not very good - slow service (only one chef on duty) and luke warm - this makes the meal deal not as good value as it seems.
- veronica (10/5): - Staff worked well under difficult conditions. Staff shortage. Would return.
- AngelBearTheFirst (10/5): Everything I Need - I have accessibility needs and I know when I book a Premier Inn Accessible room that my needs will be met.
The bed is at a good height for transfer from wheelchair. The wet room has everything I require with plenty of manoeuvring space.
When eating in a chair was removed from the table at each meal without my needing to ask.
- Masterblasster (10/5): Good location, clean and comfortable. Perfect for the weary traveller! - Great location. Managed to get hotel car parking too and free upgrade to Premier room which was a nice touch. Good base for exploring the town and close to bars and restaurants in the brewery quarter.
- Br494 (10/5): Right in the busy leisure area - Excellent location, parking is free in the underground car park. The parking spaces are tight and sometimes it is difficult to find a space. The rooms are spacious with good beds. The restaurant is usually fare.
- NWills_1982 (8/5): Over worked staff! - Stayed with my husband and son for one night while visiting Weymouth.
The hotel was lovely and clean and the rooms were a really good size!
The staff were incredible friendly, however, they were massively overworked! The bar did not open until 6pm and they only sold bottled drinks. There were three staff members on duty, one of which was the chef! Two staff members were having to check people in, work the bar, take orders and serve dinners! The poor chef was run off his feet! We ordered food about 7pm and finally received it at about 8:10pm. The staff were so apologetic and it really wasn’t their fault. The chef even had to bring my pudding out to me as the other staff were busy! Management need to take note as it is not possible to run a whole hotel on three staff! They were getting some stick from a few of the other guests due to the time it was taking to serve and get food out, but the staff did not stop for even one second! Good and breakfast was lovely and the breakfast buffet was well stocked.
Some nice bars and restaurants around the hotel and the train station is just over the road.
Overall it was a pleasant stay, but we felt extremely sorry for the staff!
- 889clementn (10/5): excellent location, decent rooms. - excellent location, there is no need for healthy persons to take public transit to reach Albertinum, Zwinger or Residenz-schloss which are the top attractions-museums in Dresden. breakfast was 17,90 euros, buffet style, staff speak very decent English, rooms were clean though space was definitely limited. For budget stay it was very acceptable. private shower, toilets too , which in Europe are at a premium. again, like most of Europe, no air conditioning, bring fan or open windows. Once more, housekeeping is not daily, so be sure to bring towels and other items you might need.
- cj001_7 (10/5): Very Good - Clean and good breakfast. Staff helpful, especially Matthew. Walking distance of all of Dorchester, including both stations.
- Sunshine24965440429 (10/5): Comfort, ideal location and top staff! 😊 - Great experience at this hotel! The room was incredibly comfortable, with a very handy kettle for my morning coffee/tea ☕️. The breakfast was complete and delicious, perfect for starting the day! 🥐 The location is ideal, quick access to the city center, everything is at your fingertips 🚶♀️. And the staff? Adorable! Always ready to help with a smile 😊. I highly recommend this hotel, I will definitely return! 👍 Paid parking nearby.
- HD5349 (4/5): Disappointing - We stayed 4 nights, and on 2 of these our room was not cleaned at all, or bed made. The other 2 days the standard of cleaning was very poor
Staying 4 nights, our towels were not changed once
Won't visit again and will not recommend
- jamesbB2267LJ (2/5): Horrible place, the manager on an evening is disgusting. Last time i stay here. Id rather stay in a hostel and take my chances - Poor staff, receptionist was lovely the bar and restaurant staff/ manager needs sacking, horrible man with the professionalism of a dead slug, this happened last year too, the last time i stay here
- jitenn2014 (10/5): Outstanding family-friendly stay, staff went above and beyond - We stayed at the Premier Inn in Dorchester and honestly, our experience was nothing short of amazing. After a long 4-hour drive with a 17-month-old and a 5-year-old, we were warmly welcomed by Charlotte, who really went above and beyond to make sure we felt at ease. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her, and her genuine kindness set the tone for our whole stay.
Charlotte also has fantastic local knowledge, she recommended we see the fireworks on the seafront, which turned out to be such a memorable evening for the kids, and pointed us towards Bennett’s Fish and Chips, which was absolutely spot on. Those little touches made such a big difference to our trip.
Matt (also known as “Charlotte”!) was equally brilliant, always attentive and willing to help with a smile. Billy was quick to sort out any minor issues that cropped up, and Minir along with the rest of the kitchen team looked after us brilliantly every morning, my eggs were made perfectly without me even needing to ask, which was such a thoughtful detail.
As a family, we felt so comfortable here, the staff were patient, friendly and genuinely welcoming towards our little ones, which made travelling with young children so much easier. It really felt like they cared about making our stay special, not just ticking boxes.
The whole team made us feel completely looked after from start to finish. The service was top-notch, the staff genuinely cared, and it really made our trip stress-free and enjoyable. We honestly cannot fault a single thing and would happily recommend this Premier Inn to anyone visiting the area, especially families.
- I3996JZmarkb (4/5): Step up Premier Inn - Conveniently situated near the centre. The room however was extremely small and the twin beds were worse than camp beds. Premier Inn is a brand we like and can trust in the UK, this let the side down. We were also placed in a twin and not a double as requested. I should acknowledge that Dresden was cleared on th4 day of our arrival, due to the discovery of a WW2 bomb, and cleaning was halted so that "rooms were limited". Despite a couple of requests there were no double rooms available for our 2 night stay. I'm afraid the room was depressing in such a fab city.
- Ausgarius (10/5): - The hotel is centrally located, close to both sightseeing attractions and shopping. It’s easy to stop in front of the hotel by car to unload your luggage, which was very convenient.
The reception staff were generally friendly, and we also received helpful assistance with room cleaning — just note that you need to request this at least a day in advance.
Breakfast was tasty and definitely worth recommending. The rooms felt fresh and clean, although a bit tight on space if you’re traveling with several suitcases, as we were.
All in all, I can definitely recommend this hotel as an excellent base when visiting Dresden as a tourist.
- Spanglor-Still (8/5): Decent hotel in Dresden - Hotel was well located within walking distance of main city centre attractions and train station. Had paid for an early check in which wasn't available in the end and was refunded. Room was well appointed but the bed was not the most comfortable (unusual in a Premier Inn).
- deanosaur89 (8/5): Great Location and Value for our Stay - We had a good night's rest at this hotel. It has a great location and new rooms with a good floor plan. This hotel was within 100 m of the Kreuzkirche Dresden so we were able to start our exploration of Dresden as soon as we got parked. The hotel's location is within 15 minutes walking distance of most of Dresden's main attractions that are south of the river and the good public transit in Dresden makes the city very easy to see lots.
The room was nicely appointed with blackout curtains, a chair that transforms into a bed, a desk with a chair, large TV, coffee/tea station and some good lighting. The only complaint we had about the room was that the air conditioning was not strong enough during our stay but we had a pretty good night's sleep at this quiet hotel. I thought the bed was comfy and pretty standard to Premier Inn but my wife found the mattress to be too soft for her.
The bathroom was nice and large with plenty of counter space and a large shower stall. There is this purple light you can turn on at night too so you don't disturb your partner which helps because it is a frosted glass door. It is very easy to get hot water in the faucet and shower here. The shower has an all in one body wash and the shower stall is huge compared to other hotels we've stayed at in Europe.
If you use the hotel's covered parking it costs 20 euros a night and there is covered/secured parking that costs 12-20 euros a night. We went with the uncovered parking lot that had a man there 24/7 and it was 12 euros for the night. There is a street right in front of the hotel that has no signage for parking but the front desk told us that if you park there there is a 60 Euro fine if you're caught.
We like breakfast in the morning at hotels we stay at in Europe but we found this one was very pricey. There are bakeries, cafes and even a McDonald's nearby that gave much better value for us.
We felt the location and price for the hotel was perfect for our time in Germany and would recommend this hotel for a short stay in Dresden because there is lots to see in this city.
- wineng (8/5): Great location - The location is great and it the biggest plus. The hotel room is no frills basic, no fridge and was not able to make it cooler in the room, seems like maybe the fan was not working? Opening the window did not help. But overall a decent place to stay in a great location.
- Steve-and-Andie (4/5): Great location, BUT..... - Chose this hotel due to it's location close to the Christmas Markets, attractions and after reading reviews.
Well maintained hotel, decent size room with everything you need for a short stay. Large TV with channels in many languages. Tea and coffee but no safe.
Breakfast however was a different story. The breakfast room and buffet area is far too small for the size of this hotel with insufficient staff and people queueing to enter then looking for somewhere to sit. Food items constantly running out and not being replenished. In fact it was a total shambles with no one in charge.
On returning in the evening we found our room had not been serviced, I questioned this at reception to be told we should have requested it. How can you request something you didn't know about?! So here we were collecting fresh towels, tea, coffee etc along with other guests whilst the receptionist was booking people in.
We didn't use the bar, enough was enough.
This may have been the busiest time of year but when staff inform you they are constantly understaffed it's no wonder things are cut back on.
Afraid we won't be returning to this hotel.
- carlp432 (6/5): Not so nice as rated - Expecting a great time and a nice stay per other reviews, we were quite disappointed. Our room was hot inside. The hvac control set at 18 and full fan did nothing more than set at Off. so no air flow or air conditioning. The was no tissue other than strong tp. The shower has white grout that was black with mold. The water was scalding and the coldest was warm. There were directions on how to lock the safe, but we never located a safe in the room. The breakfast was decent, but not spectacular. Happy hour took 30 minutes to get a drink, I’m not kidding. They had some donation scam to not have to clean our room daily. Overall, close wisely.
- traveller_spain (8/5): Modern hotel near city center - I spent 2 nights at this hotel during my first trip to Dresden. Building, rooms, ... look modern and new. Room was comfortable and breakfast was very complete (kids for free if you go in family trip). The location is ideal close to city center and walking distance from train station. I would stay here again.
- janebR1521IG (10/5): Such a cute hotel! - Stayed only for a couple days back in May for the Rammstein show and I couldn't have picked a better place for my short little trip! The rooms are super cute with everything you need and the bathrooms (and water pressure!) are amazing! Clean and beautiful rooms overall. The fact that it's right across from the tram station is a major plus, and the town centre is only a few minutes walk away. The staff were so kind and were extremely accommodating to any questions or needs I might've had. I'm not sure when I'll be back in the Dresden area, but I know where I'm staying next time I do!
- cinzian (6/5): Unhelpful morning staff - Premier Inn Dresden. Great location, old city sites in easy walking distance. Comfortable room, though bathroom sink was too high. Convenient parking either underground or at an open lot across the street. Breakfast was ample, but not worth it due to unhelpful morning staff.
Our first morning, I paid for breakfast for both days well before we went to the breakfast room. The female desk attendant didn't bother to note it ANYWHERE, because no one had record of it. The breakfast room monitor said we weren't on the list but let us in. The second morning, another breakfast monitor told my husband he wasn't on the list and would have to pay. Thinking he'd misunderstood, he paid in cash for himself. A tall, dark-haired guy at the desk treated him rudely. I show up and assure another tall dark-haired attendant (poorly shaven) it was already paid. He said I had to show a receipt, so I go back to our room to retrieve it. He then says he has to credit our account rather than reimburse with cash and takes some 10 min, to do so with barely any apology. Such incompetence and negligent service from four staff members is unacceptable. Stayed here Su-Tu, Jun 9-11, 2024.
Great stay otherwise, but not worth a return visit.
- Passenger14687957743 (10/5): Premier inn experience - First class Premier inn from reception nothing too much trouble, plenty of choice in the restaurant, clean tidy room, good bathroom, excellent location.from our own experience would recommend to anyone. Far better then some 3/4 star hotels.thank you for making out stay in Dresden more enjoyable.
