Guest Reviews
- isaiah (10/5): - Clean, warm, good, hair dryer sucked
- Y1672CKstevem (10/5): good hotel, will be back - Stayed here for work, Abby on reception was very kind and helped me with my booking as i booked Rainham London by accident. All round good hotel and friendly staff.
- 697eriny (10/5): Amazing staff - Great stay at this hotel with my family. Staff friendly and welcoming always there to answer our questions. Hotel is in need of some tlc to get up to other Premier Inn new room standards but the rooms are clean and beds comfortable. New breakfast room is a huge bonus.
- IainM1580 (2/5): Smelly, water damaged, old, need renovated and should be shut down until then. - Worst Premier Inn I have ever stayed at. Should not be open to guests in its current state. Awful smell throughout, particularly on the 1st floor. Water damage staining everywhere. Should be avoided until it is rebuilt or renovated.
- johncT2406PH (4/5): The hotel that premier inn forgot! - This is the hotel that premier inn forgot, it’s very run down and is in urgent need of repair, the corridors have an awful stink which lingers into the rooms, the grounds were untidy and the bedroom and bathroom were in urgent needs of some TLC. The only positive was the breakfast room which felt like a totally different place compared to the rest of the hotel with its modern decor.
- Booboo1875 (2/5): Pathetic experience - This is probably the worst hotel have ever stayed in, in Scotland. Spiders in the room, 1 bath towel between 2 guests, no option of cooked breakfast and a damp feel to the bed. Pathetic!
- L3539TKneals (4/5): Poor standards - The room was very tired, with damage to the desk legs, skirting boards and carpet. The toilet and shower were only of a poor standard with long dark long hair on the walls of the shower.
The night employee ( ponytail) was unwilling to make eye contact or even talk. When asked a direct question, he got up and walked into the back room.
The agreement with the beefeater for breakfast was dictated by the lack of a chef for 2 out of the 4 days. So there was toast on offer.
Shame they cannot save the money on the TV adds and put them into their hotels.
- 283Traceyx (10/5): Nice cozy place - No lift for people but there is a lift for luggage that I was not informed off till I lugged my case up to the second floor, rooms standard premier inn clean tidy, small reception area no sitting area but there is a beefeater attached for drinks and meals,
- jennycH4486JZ (10/5): Stay for a wedding - Great place to stay, very pleasant and helpful. Rooms were a bit tired, could do with a refresh but the bed was very comfortable
- FionaF884 (8/5): Great stay - Great hotel, great location.
Comfortable, clean beds and rooms.
Bathroom a bit musty smelling, like water has been leaking. But bathroom clean.
Restricted food choices in restaurant as they’re closing for take over and refurbishing at end of the month.
- Helenmovahedi (8/5): Great experience - Really friendly staff.
Clean room.
Slow to answer emails before arrive, but very helpful on arrival to the premier inn.
- Roving764710 (4/5): Beefeater partner restaurant give it a miss - To be clear the hotel is fine if you need to be in the area. No problems with it so this review is slightly unfair on Prem really. We have.Stayed there a number of times and usually do the meal deal breakfast / dinner package which is quite good value and is provided by their partner company Beefeater.
This time however the expirience was terrible. Everything from wait time to be seated ,although we already booked a time slot. We were there there nearly 3 hours and not one table had been cleared of plates by previous diners. Dirty napkins on the floor along reciepts, overflowing bins at the workstations, terible service and food the list goes on. If we thought the dinner was bad the breakfast was worse! So many things wrong, dirty cups and plates being the tip of the iceberg. We were told that this particular Beefeater is on the market hence the bad service / quality. Happy to book the hotel again but if were the hotel management I would be having strong words with their food and beverage supplier as I paid Premier Inn for the package not Beefeater so the responsabilty is with them to sort it out.
- Stezinga (4/5): Battered and bruised - I stayed here when visiting a friend and it’s not up to the standard you’d expect from a Premier Inn in any way - the rooms are bare thread and in need of a facelift, the walls/ceiling is paper thin. There was what sounded like an elephant stomping around in the room above at 4am!
Breakfast is woeful with very poor choice and it’s not worth £10.99.
I don’t think there is much choice of hotels in the area but wouldn’t recommend this one!
- geraldinehulston (6/5): Needs refurbished - The hotel is conveniently placed right off the motorway We have stayed here a number of times over the years. To be really honest it has become really tired and scruffy looking both in the rooms and corridors. The restaurant is also very scruffy but we were told this has been sold and won’t be part of Premier Inn. Overall we won’t be using this hotel again until it has been renovated. It’s a shame as it’s really handy for motorway and visiting family
- bevf212 (2/5): Terrible place - Terrible place would never stay here again, absolutely stinks in all the hallways. If I didn’t know better I’d say the smell is cat wee.
The place is VERY TIRED and the shower was just a trickle this is the worse premier inn I’ve ever stayed in and staff on reception could care a less about the place AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
- Happiness38611477899 (2/5): Terrible condition - Terrible condition of the hotel - looks like a youth hostel: smells, shower is a trickle, every part of the bedroom was dated (20 yrs old) and in poor repair. Long overdue a renovation! Don't waste your money and book elsewhere.
- georgiacO2984KP (10/5): Another fab stay - I have stayed here before and this time had an even better stay, the staff here are so kind and welcoming. Abby on reception remembered us and we had a card and some chocolates in our room. We Love staying here and will always come back. Cleaning lady was also very helpful and always made sure we had enough towels.
- richardwM3305MS (2/5): No unlimited breakfast - No unlimited breakfast as promised I was gutted
There was " renovations" show me where
Please stay away or stat somewhere else.
- philmatdunn (2/5): Parking ticket for staying at the hotel! - Got a parking ticket even though we put our car registration in the machine. I have no idea why they need the cameras who is going to park there that is not staying at the hotel. And no-one to talk to about it at either the hotel or parkmaven.
- ScotlandInverness (2/5): Don’t Don’t - Disappointed +++++
Lift up needs a good scrub, corridor carpet needs replacing, room small, and shabby and had to close window due to traffic noise R52 second floor. If we’d known would have asked for another room. Wish I had taken photos
- Tamas (8/5): - Good value for the money
- 175hafsai (6/5): Good experience - Nice hotel ideal location at the outskirt of Glasgow. Hotel has a restaurant for food but its not halal. Had to travel about 8 miles for halal food. The rooms are clean and it's ideal for families. Beds were good and pillows were nice and soft. Towels were nice and soft. Rooms were clean with tea and coffee facilities. Would recommend this hotel.
- _steven_ (2/5): Terrible, just avoid - utter dump of a place. With a Premier Inn you hope to at least know what you are getting, but Lenny Henry hasn't been to this place in a while. Dirty, smelly, hot, grimy, tatty, no more adjectives. Curiously it was the same when I stayed at Glasgow Airport a while back. I should have learned. To charge this price for this product is poor. The breakfast was also dire.
- C355MPrs (8/5): I night by the motorway in Glasgow - 1 night stopover. Rooms facing the motor are noisy - temperature control in the room didn't work, so had to leave window open.
Staff are friendly, Breakfast good quality with a good selection. Bit surprised that the eat all you want breakfast was waitress served - expected usual buffet. On the plus side, you know that the breakfast has just been cooked.
- michaellQ4007KB (10/5): Quiet and comfortable stay - Easily accessible and to find, nice and quiet out of the city centre. Bed comfortable as always, clean and all working as it should be. Nice fluffy towels and great breakfast.
- Maps50282615619 (10/5): Pleasant stay - Really nice little hotel. Clean, spacious rooms (way bigger than the other hotels we stayed in on our trip.) Friendly staff. The only downside is that although you can get room service, you have to go next door to the attached restaurant and pick it up yourself, then carry it back. But handy to have that option, considering this isn't a 5 star hotel.
- JennyR786 (10/5): Thoughtful receptionist - The receptionist was very friendly on arrival. She also had turned the air con on before we arrived. The room was large and very comfortable. It was nice to have a walk-in shower. The air conditioning worked really well (it was a very hot Saturday).
Breakfast on Sunday was great. I didn’t like the look of the granola so had weetabix for a change. The hot part of breakfast was cooked to order and was tasty and hot.
If we need to come back to the Medway area we will stay here again.
- 3siobhanc (10/5): Lovely wee hotel - One night stay with family for an onward trip to Edinburgh to break up the journey. Really friendly staff. Leigh-anne on reception is a credit to the company. Comfortable bed. Fan in room was needed.
- epatrickt (4/5): Horrifically hot and airless room if the sun comes out - We visited on a hot weekend, so a little unusual perhaps but the room's window only opens a small amount, no aircon and no fan. We had to try to sleep without the duvet as sweltering. The hotel is in pretty urgent need of a refurb anyway (bathroom fittings very tired for example, the bed-sheet didn't fit properly which seems odd but got me tangled in the night) and I believe that it is planned although was told that aircon isn't. So uncomfortable was it that we tried to complain via the Premier Inn Guarantee but were shrugged off with a comment that the hotel description does say no aircon....makes me wonder what the guarantee is for really. All the staff as always at the hotel we exemplary.
- VickyG1982 (6/5): Bad breakfast - I would have scored this higher if it had not been for our poor experience at breakfast.
The room was clean and comfortable, the aircon was working well. The bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed. Only thing I would consider would to be change the plug sockets to have USB.
Hotel staff we spoke to seemed pleasant and helpful.
On to the bad!
Breakfast was not a good experience, the only good part was the cooked breakfast.
The coffee machine never worked.
They ran out of croissants/muffins
The fruit salad looked like it had been sat there hours
If you went for continental you would have been very disappointed!
The toilets were unclean and lacking toilet roll
The staff were very unprofessional, one member of staff sat at the entrance on the work phone complaint about work (unclear if this was to a work colleague/personal) but we could hear this from our seat. The other member of staff was talking very loudly to some diners she knew about sweating her tits off and other inappropriate comments.
There was hardly anyone in the restaurant and with 2 members of staff it wasn’t like they was rushed off their feet to address some of the issues.
I would come back to the hotel but eat somewhere else. We have stayed at quite a few premier inns and this is the worst breakfast experience we have had.
- yvetterZ9350XD (10/5): FIRST BUT NOT LAST VISIT - Fantastic staff in Reception and Restaurant next door. Very friendly and informative. Could not do enough for us.
Very very clean. Fantastic value for money. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order. No complaints at all.
This is the only place I would consider staying if we went up to visit the family again
- chrishJ994GO (6/5): Lack of staff = No cooked breakfast - Stayed here on business, as have done plenty of times.
Nothing mentioned on check in but when went for breakfast at the pub next door which had been paid for (£10) was told it was continental only and nothing cooked available this week.
Obviously not the ladies fault she was just left to tell everyone.
They are very short staffed and have no Chef available to cook breakfast. Still happy to take the money and charge for it though at checkin at the hotel. (£10 for a yogurt and 2 slices of toast !!!)
Very poor and next time down will look to book somewhere else.
- 354rosiet (10/5): Lovely staff, cosy hotel - I stayed here for around 6 weeks due to a temporary housing issue. Throughout the duration of my stay, the staff were extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. Reception staff were so kind to me and my daughter and even though I was staying in the hotel due to less than ideal circumstances, they made us feel at ease and at home. Cleaning staff were also very helpful and even though they were really busy they would always make time to have a chat with me in the morning which brightened up my day. On arrival the staff even helped me to my room as we had quite a lot of bags which was really kind of them. Room was really clean and it was great that you could get it cleaned upon request!
The meal deal the hotel offers is excellent value for money! Staff in restaurant were really nice and attentive. Debbie who served at breakfast was really friendly and helpful.
- 139douglasl (4/5): Business stay - Room basic. Bed comfortable but that is about all I would say is good. Hotel and adjacent Beefeater is dying a slow death .
Tvs in bar not working as Sky not paid for.
I imagine it will be kocked down and turned into flats at some point. Although I doubt they will be affordable for local people.
- Earthcare (2/5): Ripped off with no breakfasts! - I stayed here with family on the night Friday 7th March, paying £21.98 extra for two breakfasts on Saturday 8th March. When we arrived for breakfast we were told that the kitchen was out of order but we could get a refund from reception. So we walked down to Wetherspoons, had an excellent breakfast and when we checked out the manager promised to refund my credit card. I've chased twice since but still no refund.
- 655bevs (8/5): Good value let down by housekeeping - Arrived late. Front of desk staff were really friendly and helpful. Room was clean and bed comfortable. I often choose premier inn over budget rivals because great value and they use bayliss and Harding toiletries which means I don’t have to carry heavy bottles with me.
Or at least they are supposed to . Jumped in the shower to find not only was the bottle so close to empty that there wasn’t enough for a shower but also what was in there was excessively watered down. First time that’s happened. Here’s hoping it is the last.
- georgiacO2984KP (10/5): Great stay at this little premier inn with great customer service. - Lovely Little hotel and very friendly staff. Abby on reception was extra helpful to my elderly mum and made her feel very welcome. Thankyou for the lovely stay and will be coming back. Hotel is near local restaurants and shops so great location for things to do.
- 38jaynet (8/5): Hotel ok but breakfast a big let down - The walls in the bedroom and bathroom were dirty. Bed was very comfy & the shower was good. Breakfast at the beefeater was a real let down. My continental one was fine, I enjoyed it. My husband opted for the fried breakfast and waited 45 minutes from ordering to getting it. The beans were cold, the eggs were hard and it was swimming in grease. It cost £10.99 and he couldn't eat it.
- Z2906YHjohnj (10/5): Great - Extremely helpful polite and friendly staff, was very refreshing to be greeted and dealt with so enthusiatically. One staff member Abby even got me out of a major hole by printing off some important documents I needed for work. Definitely a level above the usual computer says no service I get from premier inns. Also shower was really powerful compared to most.
- philaX4998LD (4/5): Unusually poor for a Premier inn. - Comfortable bed as always. Cleanliness of room was good. What let the stay down was that I booked a meal deal only to find out when I got there that the restaurant (Beefeater) was closed due to having no staff & food!
The receptionist said that I could have my meals at another Premier inn a few miles up the road. I declined this as it was just as easy to eat at an alternative restaurant nearer by.
- mattwR7817OR (8/5): Cozy little hotel in a good location - Nice spacious rooms with very comfy beds and in a great location. Would advise paying for upgraded Wi-Fi as the hotel one is terrible. Also the bathrooms could do with a bit of freshening up but on the whole a nice little hotel with everything around you would need.
