Guest Reviews
- KA CHUN (10/5): - Clean room
- 979iainl (10/5): Enjoyable experience. - Comfortable and convient. No car parking, short walk from councill car park. Short time parking outside hotel for unloading. but was all taken.
- markrat (4/5): Lost in Time - Stayed for 2 nights while visiting family in the area. The only reason for the 2 stars is down to the staff who were excellent at every stage.
Without the staff the score would be a zero. The hotel is shabby and very out dated. Poor amenities in the room with lacklustre heating. No glass to drink from in the bathroom, awful tissue dispenser instead of toilet roll. Just small things but just cheapened the experience, stayed in better equipped Ed hostels to be honest.
The bed was comfortable but the pillows were like wet sand bags so not a good sleep unfortunately. The decoration is straight out of the 80’s and really needs dragging into the current decade.
The location is great though. Right at the start of town so plenty of scope for exploring the town. Saturday nights can be fruity with a pub next door. Had great fun at 1am watching and listening to the street fights and arguments outside my window.
Such a shame but they practically have the monopoly on beds in Bude and seem to use this to keep it cheap and sell higher than it’s worth.
- AlistairJ49 (2/5): no sleep no restaurant - Fire alarm went off due to a alarm system faul then staff couldn't turn it off as they didn't know code
Then was told no refund as the fire alarm doesn't come under the great night sleep polic
- 46milliei (10/5): Family staycation - We really enjoyed our stay, th room was well equipt, clean and tidy. Customer service was excellent- especially Vinnie at reception. Any help we needed she was quick to do her best to help in any way that she could. We will certainly be coming back.
- 85allisonp (10/5): Relax - Had a lovely weekend with family , the location is perfect only a few minutes walk to most of the beaches central to town. The room was very clean , had coffee, tea , hairdryer. Most rooms have a view of the canal . The breakfast we could not fault lots of choice , the staff were polite and friendly, especially the chef we had at breakfast Tony , what a lovely polite gent 😁
- richardhY3248VT (10/5): Always a winner - We rate Premier inn Bude, the staff team are excellent, attentive and polite.
The room and bed are always good.
When we stayed recently, the breakfast was 'lovingly' cooked and presented.
- gavincJ6752LT (10/5): Very good hotel - Jaz and Vinnie were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them.........................................
- Laverda76 (10/5): Another Perfect Stay. - This is our 3rd stay here. Staff were consistently really friendly and helpful. Couldn't fault the rooms at all.
The breakfast and evening meal nextdoor at the WESSEX FLYER was delicious, high quality food. Faye and the team were friendly throughout providing excellent service.
Another perfect stay.
- Jamesch1987 (2/5): Starting to feel dated and needs better sound insulation! - 3rd stay at this hotel and it is starting to feel dated and in need of maintenance. Squeeky floors, some mould in the bathroom. But the noise was a BIG issue. Woken up several hours times overnight by not particularly noisey neighbours above and next to me just have conversations or making calls. The walls and ceilings need better sound insulation. I don’t think I will be going back sadly.
On a positive note, staff were kind, approachable and helpful. The parking facilities are also good.
- roys2nbarnes (10/5): Lovely Stay in Bude - The staff were very friendly and polite. The service we received from Taylor, Scott, Chloe, Jaz and Kim was absolutely fantastic. The breakfast which was cooked by Tony and Simon was perfect. The room was very clean and comfortable.
- Y4902GEdanh (10/5): Good visit - Room was clean and tidy 👌 Bozena did a wonderful job, plenty of toiletries and towels, 10 out of 10 would stay again. Thank you.
- C3218QVjennyn (10/5): 100% recommend - Excellent location, rooms, breakfast. Tony the Chef was so helpful, cooked a great fresh breakfast, loads of choice.
Taylor was a great host too.
All 100%.
- 476winnief (10/5): Time away with friends. - Lovely staff and brilliant location. Parking isn't to much of an issue with 2 car parks fairly close by. Breakfast selection was very good. Summerleaze beach with the wonderful sea pool, is a 2 minute walk away!
- lindarA485JT (10/5): Will be coming again - stayed here with my husband at the beginning of November, cannot fault our stay from check in to departure the staff went above and beyond including the breakfast chef who served the eggs with a smile.
- alisonlH7307YV (10/5): Did the job - Really friendly hotel with a nice breakfast, chef did me eggs fresh to order which was nice, felt really personal. Parking bit of an issue.
- davidsU4996FL (10/5): Weekend Visit - Just returned from visiting family.
Excellent customer service, tv stopped working but found us another room straight away even though the hotel was busy.
Staff weee very friendly and helpful.
Room was clean with all the facilities you need for a short visit.
Good parking outside the hotel.
Would definitely recommend this hotel and we will be revisiting when we return to Bristol.
- devonl2013 (4/5): Dusty, dirty and stuffy - Probably one of the worst Premier Inns that we have stayed in.
Dust everywhere. Dirty bathroom. Having to walk out of the building you are staying in and walk to another building to get to reception. Couldn’t get the aircon working and can’t open the window so really stuffy in the room.
Wouldn’t stay here again.
- jonathani835 (10/5): Bristol South premier inn - just what is needed. - Very good stay and very pleased overall.
Big shout out to both Lisa and Jen who not only greeted us at reception but assisted us with the 2 little ones, and offered refreshments upon arrival considering our long journey (stuck in traffic for over 3 hours).
I stay at premier inn for the consistency however this short trip had the friendly vibes flavour from both staff and fellow visitors.
Additional thanks to the breakfast staff, Friday 31st was very busy due to what appeared to be an abundance of additional visitors however staff took time for us which was greatly appreciated.
Would definitely stay again at Bristol south should the need arise.
- U3800SSalexj (8/5): Great location. Friendly staff. - Great location. Friendly staff. Clean and tidy. Always hot water for baths and showers. Excellent breakfast buffet. 10 min walk to the beach. Less than 5 mins to the town centre.
Only downside was the initial welcome we had when we arrived, but I think the staff member was having a bad day. We asked what floor the room was on and if it had a view. Rather than telling us and advising it wasn't possible to change, and they gave us a long spiel about the complex algorithm used to allocate rooms, at the end of which we were still none the wiser!
Overall a great hotel and really friendly staff. Thanks to Jom and the crew in the restaurant for making it a memorable stay!
- 675mehmetr (8/5): Good for business - Warm welcome with all the staff all friendly and helpful...nothing seems to ever be to much trouble.....no fault with the chef either....breakfast even though limited on what they offer was cooked to a very good standard. WIFI can be a little iffy.
- amadeow163 (4/5): Could be better - Not a bad place, reasonable price, food OK, but air conditioning in the room was so bad and created so much noise thatbwe got zero sleep. All in all we were not happy
- BradleyC308 (10/5): A really enjoyable stay at Premier Inn Bude. - I had a wonderful stay at the Premier Inn Bude. From the moment I arrived, the staff were so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. A special thank you to Whinney, Ryan, and Jom for going above and beyond – you really made my stay extra enjoyable.
The room was spotless and comfortable, and the breakfast was brilliant – freshly cooked and delicious. Well done to the chefs!
Thanks again to the whole team for such a lovely experience. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Bude.

- cmS8153OO (10/5): Great welcome! - Such a great welcome from Paige on reception. She was very bubbly and smiley, she made our long day better! The rooms was lovely and tidy!
- O7696LTneilj (10/5): Nice stay - Paige on reception was amazing, quick and easy check is, with a lovely smile. The room was nice and clean. Will definitely be returning.
- R9540YNtraceyl (10/5): Lovely riverside setting, amazing breakfast. - Stayed last minute for a friend's wedding. Rooms are lovely and clean. Comfortable and usual Premier Inn standards.
Breakfast (Chef:Tony) was amazing! Cooked to perfection. Unusual for me to have seconds but, I did!
- Jetsetter_48924 (10/5): Breakfast - Nice breakfast, friendly staff, great if you have children as only £10.99 for an adult and children are free, which makes a very cheap family breakfast out!
- georgiaaK301KL (10/5): Welcoming - I checked in on Friday evening and Claire was absolutely brilliant. She welcomed me and my boyfriend whilst checking in and made us feel so welcome! I was very impressed with Claire!!! Thank you
- 25nigelc (8/5): Why do you not include the cost of a decent Wi-Fi connection in the cost of the room? - Why do you not include decent WiFi connection in the cost of the room?.
The Premier Inn is very comfortable but in this day and age I would expect a good Wi-Fi connection. It is very annoying to try and down load a document over ten minutes to realise you have the connection toon speed of a snail and the Wi-Fi to freeze.
- Paul_SGH (8/5): A good budget hotel - Stayed here, as opposed to PIs closer to the city centre as the parking is free and it is a relatively short drive into the city.
The leisure park site is vast and quite unwelcoming but the PI is bright and reasonably well maintained. I stayed in 209 which is in an annexe and it was clean, quiet and i slept well. My only criticism was that checking in took ages as the woman receptionist had probs with the card reader and/or our Company debit card. Sadly she wasn't what you might describe as either cheery or apologetic.
Would I stay here again? Yup.
- 875nicku (4/5): Poor customer relations. - We expected to be greeted on our arrival at the reception, instead we greeted the receptionist and asked her how she was. Very poor customer relations. First impressions are so important.
- emmaflana1975 (8/5): Good location, not so good breakfast - The hotel itself was clean and tidy
Perfectly situated
Downside the breakfast, lukewarm, eggs like rubber the bacon hadn’t seen a heat source
No mushrooms on our second morning
Just very disappointing for the money
I wouldn’t bother with the breakfast and walk 5 mins into town for a better value breakfast
- StryW (8/5): Value for money in a good location - Good location with an easy walk into the centre of Bude and the beach. Car parking nearby at a reasonable rate. We did book late and were allocated a dark room looking out onto a high walled courtyard. This didn’t really bother us as we were out most of the time but it would have been nice to have a brighter room. We had the breakfast which was ok but could have been replenished quicker, the mushrooms were very dry! Overall it was very good value and we would stay again. There is a nice traditional pub next door with an attached pizza restaurant, we didn’t have a pizza but very handy without having to walk far.
- chrisl316 (2/5): Zero star Hotel go to a Travelodge instead - Total RIP off £180 for a night had to pay for wifi. no restaurant no breakfast room grubby accommodation next to a noisy road.go to a travelodge which has more class and facilities
The premier inn website omits the fact of the lack of facilities and should be made explicit.
- nusseyjenna (10/5): Work - I was the area for work purposes and we stayed here it was a lovely stay the rooms were clean and tidy bed was very comfy, we had the meal deal included in our stay breakfast and evening meal, the food was beautiful both evening meal and breakfast it was well worth it, 10/10 for the overall stay.
- robertgO2742US (8/5): Relaxing - We have used this premier a few times and always find it clean and tidy and the staff very friendly and helpful the breakfast is not bad either
- clairecY8083HV (2/5): Believe all the reviews - the temperature in the bedrooms unbearable - We booked knowing there was no breakfast, so that wasn’t an issue. The real problem was the heat. Our party had three rooms and all of us struggled — even with the window open all night, our room stayed at 35.4 degrees. The heater was turned off, yet it was unbearable and we couldn’t sleep. Floor-standing fans were in the bedrooms, but they were noisy, only moved the hot air around.
We got back just before midnight and reception was unmanned, let ourselves in without problems. But as we got into bed we found only two pillows on the double bed with no extras in the room; I didn’t want to go back down to ask for more in case there was still nobody at reception.
I’ve since seen on Tripadvisor that many others have raised the same issue about the temperature, but clearly nothing is being done. Location was handy for our event (entrance is hidden behind Starbucks), but overall this is the first Premier Inn I won’t be returning to.
- C5785WFjayner (8/5): Decent hotel - Good hotel, clean, tidy, decent room and free car parking. Service was efficient and pleasant. Room was large, bed was comfy
- KBoydd (6/5): Find somewhere else with a bit of life in it - Central location, dismal looking building inside and out. Main entry door to get to the bedrooms had a broken handle and only worked if you had the knack or member of staff to help. Paid for 3 nights but checked out after 2 nights. Depressing place
- 966grahamk (6/5): Overnight stop for morning flight from Bristol - It’s a premier inn, does it exactly what you expect. Clean comfortable and quiet.
It is few years since premier embarked on their brilliant remake BUT the bathroom was clean but looks tired
- jackSparrowFamily (6/5): Sad to say, won’t be staying again. - Stayed here before leaving for an early flight. We’ve stayed many times before. Room clean, bed comfy but way too hot on a warm day. No air con.
Had a room on bottom floor so you can’t open the windows fully. Fan in room but too noisy. Didn’t get much sleep because of this.
Hotel has lost its appeal, its grubby with cigarette ends outside the door. Smokers loitering outside the entrance
The area has gone down hill, boarded up buildings and establishments. People using the car park as a race track.
Didn’t have breakfast as left early, and thank goodness we didn’t have it booked.
We ate at the Brewers Fayre the evening beforehand, as apart from McDonalds & KFC, that was the only choice. We wish we hadn’t.
Bar maid not the friendliest.
Sunday carvery finished at 4pm even though served until 6pm.
Flies in the vinegar! Didn’t notice until after we’d eaten, and yes we’d used it! Gross.
We won’t use this Premier Inn again for all these reasons.
- toryd75 (10/5): Amazing time with Charli - My sister and I came on the way to our last minute holiday. Charli was on the desk and she was so helpful and friendly. Excellent customer service! Also really clean place :)
- R2298MYphilipg (4/5): Disappointing Stay – Avoid Ground Floor Rooms - I stayed here recently and unfortunately had a very poor experience. Being on the ground floor meant the window couldn’t be opened for security reasons, so there was no access to fresh air. This left the room feeling stuffy, and I woke up with a painfully dry throat. The air conditioning didn’t help either – it came on during the night and only made things worse by drying out my throat and eyes.
To make matters worse, the guest in the room above me was stomping around and making noise well into the early hours. As I write this at 2am, I have to be up in just one hour to go on holiday, and I’ve barely slept.
Sadly, this stay has put me off using this hotel again. If you do stay here, I would strongly recommend avoiding the ground floor rooms.
- davidgE1424CG (2/5): The worst hotel I have ever stayed at - DO NOT STAY HERE - WHILST IN MY ROOM SLEEPING, SOMEBODY ASKED IF I WAS STAYING AT THE HOTEL, THEY TOLD THEM I WAS, GAVE THE ROOM NUMBER AND A KEY FOR MY ROOM.. Booked as a single person staying.
Customer services are awful and don't care about resolving the issue they are rude and never call or email back as they promise too
avoid at all costs
- martinhK3728TK (10/5): Quality Stay - A very warm welcome from Mandy and the whole team at Premier Inn Bristol South lots of car parking clean comfortable and secure rooms and excellent pub grub
- jodit504 (10/5): Good family friendly hotel - Stayed here the night before a flight at Bristol airport. Having read some of the reviews I was apprehensive before we arrived.
Easy to find, easy to park and check in.
Our room was spacious and very clean. Clean bedding with extra pillows available. Plenty of room for our bags etc. Bathroom was immaculately clean with plenty of towels for all of us.
If you’re staying with children, there is a fabulous park over the other side of the carpark, worth a visit.
We had the unlimited buffet breakfast the following morning, it was good however, it was a little rushed as breakfast isn’t until 7am on the weekends and we needed to leave for the airport by 8am.
Would definitely stay again, all had a good night sleep and hotel was only 15min drive to the airport.
- neilb902019 (10/5): Isaac from brewers fair next door brilliant - premier inn customer service rubbish - The premier inn customer service was absolutely terrible. Was given room 125 which as soon a as we opened stank of damp - we requested a change of room which was a case of no we too full. No offer of discount or anything
WHEREAS the pub next door the manager Isaac was absolutely superb !!! He was so so helpful Infact all the staff were brilliant considering it was so busy. Isaac actually really made up for the poor experience at the hotel next door and the food was great too !
So huge credit to Isaac !
- 22ange (10/5): Overnight stay - We use this hotel everytime for an over night stay when flying , very close to airport and bristol attractions so its a perfect overnight stop for us . Hotel big clean and comfortable, staff are friendly and helpful
- weetazzy (8/5): Bristol south 2 nights - The hotel needs a little updating but staff are very nice rooms clean an tidy an plenty options in restaurant .and if there is anything I need staff are always available
- Excursion585948 (2/5): Horrible - Horrible, dirty, no breakfast room, no lift, old furnishing, in an unsafe area. We had a critical family emergency but no help getting our money back
- BourbonBiscuits83 (10/5): Exactly what we needed for a base for onward travel - We enjoyed a short stay in this affordable and convenient hotel on the outskirts of Brizzle. Check in was easy, parking, including validation, was straightforward, with proximity to limited local amenities.
- I389VGstephenp (2/5): Awful - hot bedrooms. Premier inn guest relations don’t care - Awful. This is one Premier inn to avoid. Don’t stay here if the weather is hot. The bedroom was 30 degrees even with a fan. The corridor areas were even hotter & worst on the 2nd floor thean in the 1st floor. Not much point in complaining as guest relations at Premier Inn don’t think it is a problem trying to sleep in a bedroom at 30 degrees .
Beds not made up as per booking. Insufficient towels provided for 3 gusts
Note the restaurant was closed. There is no lift.
- E6509RUsusanap (6/5): Good location - Rooms are bigger and close to main amenities. Too hot and not air-conditioning. Not restaurant too. In contrast good location and friendly staff.
- J823VXpaulm (2/5): Overnight stay in Hell - Shocking experience at the Filton site. It was unbearably hot in the hotel (not too hot outside). Then we were given a room with a window that didn't open more than a few Cm's. Opon explaining this to reception i was informed theres nothing they can do and they had already put an old short cabled fan in the room. This fan could get nowhere near the only partly opened window thus offering 0 help.
We've used Premier inn's all over and this was by far the worst experience we've had... Oh and that's before the disgusting stains on the chair in the room.
- SammyA_82 (2/5): Room like a sausa 29 degrees - The room was 29 degrees with the window open and fan on. The outside temperature at night was 17, so an indoor increase of 12 degrees seems completely unreasonable and needless to say none of the family slept. We were on the second floor in room 47, and the whole top floor was like a sauna. If there is such a thing a great nights sleep guarantee then I hope I can be compensated.
- Sahara6789 (4/5): Stayed in much better Premier Inns for less - The bedroom and bathroom were very clean, parking was free and the reception service was good. Unfortunately my room was far too hot to appreciate its other comforts - surprising as it hadn't been a particularly hot day, around 19 degrees. There's no aircon, and sleeping with the window open was not possible due to the constant traffic noise. I wasn't able to have breakfast there as the restaurant is currently closed. Overall the room was very over-priced considering the location and lack of amenities. For those with heavy luggage or who struggle with stairs, be aware that there is no lift.
- Macheam (2/5): Very poor experience - The dirtiest most unpleasant place. Miserable inside & out.
Staff miserable, not even half a smile on arrival or departure.
Cleaners rude,
No where to eat.
Overall the worst Premier inn i've ever been in.
- O19NOjanes (2/5): Awful stay - One towel in room. Bed lumpy and uncomfortable we had a very poor nights sleep. Nowhere for breakfast I would not stay here again I was very disappointed, I have never had a problem with premier inn before.
- docpaul (4/5): Watch out - no breakfast on site - Easy to park. Bed comfortable and shower worked well. Reception staff good. But note that there is no breakfast available and this is not very clear on the booking site. Also nothing much locally to do. Budget accommodation.
- RizzleNix_99 (4/5): Not "Premier" ..Better options locally. - Nothing Premier about this place. No food facility nearby so no breakfast, no lift so lug your bags upstairs, room smelt strongly of cigarette smoke and had ash on the windowsill, mattress was old and sagging. Plenty of other options nearby...use them.
