Guest Reviews
- Resort09556323795 (10/5): Good Premier. - Great stay. Clean+quiet room. Comfy bed. Lovely staff. Not happy you now have to pay for parking when you're staying in the hotel
- Paninalia (10/5): Great premier inn - Great welcoming from the menver of staff on check in desk ...the room was clean and comfortable with extra pillows available .
- Trek692698 (6/5): Ok but disappointing, be wary over the parking - Check in was easy and without any issues. Room was clean and nicely presented but bathroom smelt really strongly of stale urine, we had to keep the bathroom door closed and were reluctant to use it as it didnt feel/smell very clean. Hotel was fairly quiet, we had a relatively good nights sleep. The next day there seemed to be an issue with the keycard system, we were locked out of our rooms for a while until we could eventually get someone on reception to unlock it, the room next to ours also had the same issue, we ended up going for breakfast as there wasnt anyone on the front desk. We booked in for breakfast the next morning, once seated we waited for over 20 minutes for someone to take our order, eventually we had to ask if we could order. It arrived fairly quickly and was not too bad. The restaurant toilets smelt really strongly of stale urine which you could smell just walking past them. Big problem with parking though, on arrival we paid the £3 charge using the online system at the front desk, nearly 3 weeks later we have now received a £100 fine saying that we didnt pay, i have now got to go through the appeal process to dispute this which is not that easy as the email address the letter provides is not valid, i fear i am going to have a battle on my hands to resolve this.
- PhilL336 (10/5): Couldn't ask for more! - Couldn't ask for more, the girl on reception was so friendly and helpful and the room was a great size, beds comfy as usual and breakfast fantastic!
- garryhewitt410 (8/5): Really great service on arrival - Nice premierinn, really nice guy on reception helpful and great people's skills, rooms ok and clean, restaurant and bar nice, breakfast good the only issue was the Steaks on the evening not great, fatty and tough and service a bit slow.
Overall fairly good.
- lisanstevec (6/5): Beware of ULEZ - £30 for one night… - Parking was easy - reception very friendly. Room comfy, but only 3 pillows between 2 of us. Pub was closed at 10.30pm on a Saturday night. No cooked breakfast on Sunday as chef was off sick.
- V2745UXdavidp (10/5): Superb friendly and good fun - Lovely staff great breakfast superb value and a lovely area to explore with some fabulous old pubs sunny day and great shops dotted around
- 723maddye (10/5): I do recommend the premier inn mercury gardens - Wow the new rooms look great and the staff like all the time was friendly and welcoming to everyone I want to thx to all of them to be so kind to me, Emilia, Juliana, Hasan, Sara, to me Czech lady , Bianca and to all is amazing to see all of you.
- Radhika (4/5): - Upon arrival we were informed that the elevator does not work and we had two suitcases and I was not able to take them up two flights of stairs. Therefore I had to leave my suitcases in my car when I had essential items in there. I needed it. I was very disappointed and they did nothing to accommodate. The girl working would not have been able to lift my suitcases up to fights of that either. I asked if some sort of benefit could be given to me and I was informed no I am very upset about the service that was provided and what I had paid for and should be compensated.
- 52hollieh (6/5): *Avoid the beefeater restaurant* - The Rooms were lovely and clean and really comfortable. Wifi is no good at all. Avoid the Beefeater restaurant - not enough staff, service so slow and they don't get your order correct at breakfast. They don't advise of unavailable items until after you try and order said items. Many items from the menu unavailable for both nights and mornings of our stay, They advised no eggs available due to no stove/hob - why not purchase a temporary one? Me and my work colleague ended up with an upset stomach after our 2nd evening meal!! When ordering the drinks in the meal deal, staff dont advise of the upgrade supplement until the end when they bring over a bill! Also, the lift broke on our 2nd day, I have no issues with using the stairs but my work colleague with disability issues, had problems using the stairs while the lift was out of order. needed to be fixed asap.
- TiredTrotter (6/5): Motorway hostelry close to Oldham & Rochdale - It’s a Premier Inn so you know what you’re getting: a basic but clean room and a place to park up for the night. This one is well placed for the M62 and good for getting into both Oldham and Rochdale. There’s an associated bar / restaurant next door where you also get breakfast. And a friendly independent pub across the road too. Nothing wrong with this place (especially for its budget price) but on this occasion our room smelt of mould, perhaps coming from the a/c. I’m sure it’s a one-off situation though.
- SparklyVampire (8/5): Two night stay - We booked this Premier inn because we were going to a wedding at the Bella Vista in Rochdale.
I would definitely stay here again, it’s was a good stay from the greeting in reception. The bathroom was clean and the shower had a good water flow. We had to turn the extractor on as it was off but i suspect it was the previous guest who may have turned it off.
The breakfast was tasty and you could eat as much as you wanted.. if that’s your thing.. but lots of variety.
I would have given it full marks but I we had to pay for parking 🅿️ all be it £3 a day but still if you are staying it should be included.
- Portly72 (8/5): Building 3*, Staff 5*+ - I stay in this hotel most weeks, it is getting older and it is showing, but as a Premier Inn it is always clean and comfortable. The thing that keeps me coming back every week is the staff. The welcome is warm and they do everything they can to improve your stay.
- hj742 (8/5): Beware of the odd numbers - Easy to find location. Staff friendly and helpful.
Room was 9/10 for cleanliness.
Bathroom 9/10 for cleanliness but had rusty towel rail, and quickly steamed up because extractor didn't seem to be effective.
Too noisy to sleep with window open, as room was nearest motorway. Odd numbers face motorway, so would be noisiest.
- Keentraveller73 (10/5): Thank you Lisa and Brian - The whole experience from checking in to leaving yesterday was fantastic. This is a quiet and comfortable hotel with a lovely pub next door. Brian and Lisa on reception were amazing and really made my stay even more enjoyable, they are a credit to the premier Inn brand. I am certainly looking forward to staying here again in January
- lesleymI7217QU (10/5): Quiet night - Stayed here for one night, had a superior room that must have been an upgrade, as only booked a standard. The room was newly refurbished so was lovely. Lots of room and lots and lots of sockets and USB’s.
Check in was easy as I’d checked in on line the day before. I was greeted by Juliana who was polite and helpful.
Enjoyed my stay it was so quite even though in was over the main road, never heard a thing.
Only thing is the volume on the tv is obviously set to a maximum of 15, i understand why, but if my husband was with me, he wouldn’t have been able to hear it.
- spursfc74 (2/5): Poor - Poor hotel. Got to reception to be told that there were renovation works happening. That would've been more helpful on the website rather that at reception while checking in late at night after a very long day travelling. Room was nicely decorated, but weird smells throughout the hotel. Breakfast was awful. Full range of eggs on the menu, but we were only allowed to order scrambled. Bacon looked, and tasted like it had been cooked on a radiator. Mushrooms half raw. Sausages cooked on the outside mushy in the middle. Would not stay here again or recommend to anyone else.
- Go02341798771 (8/5): Nice stay. - Fairly good stay WiFi not great, rooms can get quite warm during summer. But, comfortable clean bedroom, and meals reasonably priced.
- brennanr835 (10/5): On work - Great stuff and good room. Great front room staff. Always helpful and with a friendly smile.
Looking for a place off the highway and a pleasure to be warmly greeted
- Sunshine32399460061 (8/5): Comfortable and great value - Comfortable and great value. Much improved in 6months. Will certainly stay again when visiting the area.
Shame about having to pay extra to park.
- Z1776SWcarlf (8/5): Staying at premier inn - Everything really gd except the wait for service at dinner times.
Also unfair on lady working by herself at breakfast time
- ivorg243 (10/5): Overall great experience - Staff were absolutely great, restaurant serve a great meal, really nice family vibe! - I have to use at least 100 characters -
- L7296TJpaulk (4/5): not the greatest - the hotel smelled of weed from getting to the door at reception , all the way to my room
and all through the night i had to have the window closed as it stunk outside aswell as inside
would not stay again
- T2929IJamandab (10/5): Wedding guest's - Lovely hotel, clean bathroom which is a big thing for me. Receptionist went above and beyond to help when a few odd problems arose.
- VineHouseOsterley (10/5): As usual a no nonsense very pleasant stay - Always a good visit: sadly we won’t be visiting Rochdale too much in future so our monthly stays in Milnrow will cease. Tina was great in the rest last night and we will miss the excellent Brian on reception.
Many thanks for the past few years.
- LondonSteveb123 (2/5): If you don't want to sleep, stay here - Room was unbearably hot inside despite being not overly hot outside. No air conditioning and the room was about 6 feet from the ring road - so you had the choice of not being able to sleep due to the oppressive heat with the windows closed, or not being able to sleep due to the traffic noise (loud people, loud cars, emergency vehicles) with the windows open.
Breakfast was adequate but got a bit boring after 4 days
- neilbB8687GS (2/5): Get Stuffed Premier - The staff, as always, we're great. The service as good as they can be given they're often understaffed....
But you need to update this site. Premier have a third party managing the car park and, after paying over £400 to stay there, we had to pay to park as well.
I've been staying there for around 5 years when visiting family, but never again.
Paying to park in the hotel car park when you've already forked out £400????
Get stuffed Premier.
- essexholidays (10/5): 3 night say at the premier inn hotel milnrow Rochdale - We booked a room at the premier inn hotel in milnrow for a 3 night stay the room was ok but no heating we found our from the desk clerk that it was broken he was a very helpful person he went up and had a look at it came and explained to us what the problem was and then offered to supply us with a heater which I thought was excellent going above and beyond to help us out he was a very kind and helpful person his name was Simon thank you very much.
- darrylb858 (2/5): Avoid at all costs.... good night sleep guarantee doesn't seem to apply here. - Really disappointing stay at this hotel. Paid £15 for early check in. The hotel has no air conditioning, we unfortunately were there on the hotest days of the year, there was a fan left in the room however you couldn't have the window open because there was a dual carriageway outside and it was extremely noisy. We asked reception twice to move us to another room (facing the car park do we wouldn't be disturbed as much). They couldn't accommodate as there wasn't another room available.
The ground floor where we were staying smelt of sewage, the hotel clearly trying mask the odour as there were plug in air fresheners all down the corridor.
I contacted Premier inn guest relations to advise of the issues and they couldn't care less, a less than sincere apology was all we got. It ruined our family trip to be honest and we couldn't wait to leave.
- joannafR6341FW (4/5): Great staff, rooms way too warm - The staff were exceptional and I couldn’t fault their services. The beds are very comfy. However, the rooms we stayed in were ridiculously hot (22 degrees outside, 29 degrees in room according the the thermostat in room) - dread to think how warm they get when it’s 30 degrees outside! Fans were provided but were ineffective. Rooms on the other side of the building were cooler but they were at max capacity so couldn’t be moved until night 3/3.
Emailed guest services a week ago and no response, despite their stated response time being “within 5 days”
- mohamedu302 (2/5): No air conditioning - No air conditioning the whole building rooms hallway was too hot no fringe, was with my family what An embarrassment for a big name like you!
- F6322UJanneh (10/5): Excellent, friendly, clean and comfortable - A great place to stay overnight.
The reception staff are friendly and knowledgable getting your visit off to a great start. Emmanuel and Michelle were both very helpful on this occasion.
The bedrooms are always immaculately clean and the beds are so comfortable.
Thank you.
- P1550FDmalcolms (10/5): Great hotel and restaurant - The room was clean and the bed very comfortable.
With the hotel having a Beefeater next door provides a great location as any meal is easily accessible if required. We had breakfast and it was excellent.
- lailan751 (6/5): Ok but room placement terrible - We stayed here as a family of 3 (1 adult and 2 kids). The room was clean and spacious with comfortable beds. The only issue I had with this hotel
Is they put a family room directly above the front door/reception meaning the whole night we had people coming and going through a door which banged on closing meaning I didn’t sleep at all.
- Flobert78 (2/5): Sleeping in a a tropical heat: not one molecule of air - Something is clearly wrong with the ventilation: it was like sleeping in a tropical swimming pool. Absolutely horrendous.
Staff are pleasant and absolutely no fault of theirs. Shower was nice, and needed multiple cool showers just to tolerate it.
Hardly any sleep and the absolute worse stop off we could have had to start a holiday. Fully expecting to become ill after such an awful nights sleep and cannot see rooms being sterile if everyone is staying in constant heat like this. Would never book again
- wasima928 (2/5): 👎👎 - I konw it was not air cone available in this but it was boiling everywhere fan were provided but they weren't even working it was really bad smell in corridor and on stairs area. It was bad experience.
- Maxopaxo1 (10/5): Thank you Alana (and team) - Alana was absolutely fantastic!
Welcomed us with a. Smile and made us feel very welcome!
Been one of the nicest stays we've had for awhile!
Thank you
- steveneU6763YB (2/5): Hotel uncomfortably hot 🥵 Beefeater attached was disgustingly dirty and a shambles. - Rooms too hot to the point where I considered sleeping on the car, there’s something wrong with the ventilation or something, other people were complaining about it at reception too.
Beefeater next door is badly managed, staffed and is disgustingly dirty, dirty plates, dirty carpets, dirty chairs, dirty toilets. Tables stacked with dirty plates long after customers have left and they turn away customers telling them it’s full when it’s not, we stayed a few days so it wasn’t a one off.
Avoid at all costs!!!
- carlasL7459TU (2/5): Won’t be using again - shame as Premier Inn are usually fabulous and great value - I would not use this Premier Inn again. The receptionist was friendly and even went and put a duvet on our bed when we arrived to find it with just a sheet on it - so she cannot be faulted. However the room was not well kept and needs a revamp. We also ended up with insect bites either flea, bed bug or mites. The room was so hot as there was no air conditioning and although the hotel provided a fan the heat was unbearable. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so hot. This was not helped with the fact the window only opened 2 inches leaving no adequate airflow.
- JapO4 (4/5): Stayed 48hrs - This hotel is very dilapidated and could do with a serious upgrade.
Rooms are constantly hot and a small fan is issued but not much use.
The carpark although not too expensive at £3 for 24hrs is just another money making scheme. I think if you're staying it should be free.
Room was dirty.
- 691gurmeetk (2/5): Dont stay at Romford premier inn - My Stay was extremely disappointing . The customer service was very poor , and the staff lacked basic people skills . There was no air conditioning , making the room very uncomfortable -especially for my kids who really struggled with the heat .
Worse still, There was a very strong sewage smell throughout the property . When i raised the issue ,staff denied it,but a bar staff member later admitted they have been trained to ignore guest who ask about it .
That's not just unprofessional -its unacceptable .
This experience was very stressful and upsetting for me and my family and i would not recommend staying here . I would also like some someone to contact me regrading some forum of compensation
- richardkT7592HT (6/5): Lots of issue - Got there on the first night and checked in, I knew I had 2 separate bookings for 2 nights, first they said I wouldn’t have to move then they said I would so I checked out and later back in.
Night 1 I wanted food at the beefeater restaurant but I was told they were short staffed and I couldn’t eat there. Second night I went to the restaurant and was told I wouldn’t have to wait 39 mins for a table, I was given a table after about 59 mins. Subsequently I gave up and placed a Deliveroo this place is poor, not enough staff working hard but it really feels like a poor place to visit
- andrewcN9192EO (2/5): Worst hotel and beefeater I've ever been to. - Absolute dump of a hotel.
The ground floor smells like a portaloo at a rave.
There's no aircon so the rooms are hotter than the sun, but it's ok because you get a fan to circulate the hot air and you can open the window 3" to let in the fumes and noise from the A1251, glorious.
And don't forget if you have a meal allowance to book your meal in the attached beefeater atleast a week before your stay or they won't serve you because they are "too busy".
- michellesJ995OU (10/5): Amazing - I was there last night 26th July, too visit family for birthday celebrations and once got back met a very old friend and had a catch upa drink for my birthday and Karina night staff absolutely diamond 💎 and the fact there put me on the ground floor with a autistic child was so much better because there's no one underneath us to he him bouncing around...thanks Room 30 was prefect for us x
- bulletdozer (8/5): Ideal for shops & trains but not peaceful. - Stayed here 2 nights. At present there are major roadworks on the A12 at Gallows Corner, meaning the whole of Romford is far busier traffic-wise than normal. It will be like this until September and if you can avoid it I would. Location is ideal for parking your car and getting a train. I went to the 02 Arena and Romford Stn only 5 min walk away. You are right on top of Romford Shopping Centre as well. Police & ambulance sirens through the night, it is not a quite location. Rooms are hot but there is a fan in each which was fine for me. Staff are generally foreign, meaning they try to help but have little local knowledge of the area.
- Linzijane1 (6/5): Premier Inns are no longer value for money - Very disappointed was not worth 160 pounds. Upon arrival we were greeted with pride flags inside the reception area, now we are not judging anyone's life choices but places like this should remain impartial so nobody is offended and just allow people to pay for a service without having other people's views and beliefs pushed In your face, it really isn't necessary. Secondly, the hotel reception smelt very strongly or urine and this was all the way up the stairs to the room, we had to wait a long time for anyone to attend reception and book us in. The room was a double, very small, very warm, only had a small opening for the window and a small fan. There was cobwebs hanging down from the ceiling so not the cleanest of rooms. Breakfast is advertised as unlimited, we were expecting self service as previously experienced but for the cooked option we did have to order and waited 25 minutes for it to arrive. Due to this, my partner had to order a second breakfast as soon as the first came. After waiting another 20 minutes he was sick of waiting so we left. If we were to go again we would skip the breakfast and go to a Toby which there are plenty of in the area and serves unlimited breakfast and is self service so you wouldn't need to wait. however, the likelihood of us returning is extremely slim. The service in the restaurant for breakfast was extremely slow, some of the food was cold and really not worth the price. We feel that there are much nicer places in the area to visit but as we have had good experiences with Premier Inns in the past we chose it again. I don't think a Premier Inn would be our first choice of hotel going forward as it is no longer value for money.
- J6138YPrahulr (2/5): Horrible experience, no air conditioning, poor service & hygiene - Horrible experience at this Premier inn. Booked this premier inn and paid a high price to stay and the rooms were like a hot oven no air conditioning available !! Keycard holder was broken and lights kept going off every 2 mins.
We couldn’t sleep at all and the kids were very restless all night, the bathroom shower had all mould everywhere, bathtub was broken and couldn’t use the bath for kids to have a bath. Unfortunately we won’t recommend this hotel to anyone.
- 554perryr (2/5): Too hot!!!!! - Sadly we came on a standard day , outside day temps were 19-22 degrees, walked into the room to be met with a wall of heat !! They obviously know about this as the window was open and a single fan was on…… it was unbearable sadly …. Im an avid premier Inn stayer but this was unbearable. The lady on the desk said she could give us one more fan but that would only move hot air around. First time I have had to ask for the sleep guarantee. If you don’t like heat and want to have a nice sleep then don’t stop here.
- Culture29660127719 (2/5): worst experiences - The room was unbearably hot , it felt like a sauna. My husband, our two kids, and I couldn’t get any sleep. We had booked for three nights but were forced to leave after just one because the room was simply uninhabitable. We weren’t offered a refund or any form of compensation. It was honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had.
- J8648EHbenj (10/5): - brilliant staff and friendly experience will 100% be coming back again really easy to get checked in here for bassfest .
- suzibeh (10/5): Excellent - Excellent. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room clean and comfortable with unlimited access to tea and coffee. Ate in the restaurant one evening and the staff were friendly with hearty, traditional food served.
- Freedom17880711783 (10/5): AMAZING - Jamie and the team at Rotherham are amazing!! It was a very hot day but Nothing was too much trouble and they even helped me up stairs with my bags!! We were kept cool and hydrated and everyone we came across was attentive and fantastic! Will deffo be back!
- nigelsS9872MG (4/5): Grotty room, not a good experience. - We decided to stay at this hotel as my wife was visiting the local hospital. After 3hrs of travelling up from Kent, we arrived and found that the car park had a £3 per night charge on it, my wife is disabled so we parked in the disabled bays which there were plenty of, but found it strange that we still had to pay (good start). The chap on the front desk was pleasant and helpful which was nice. We were lucky to be allocated a ground floor room which we had not asked for. We checked in and went to our room, the room looked a bit grotty and gave the appearance that it had not been cleaned that well. The walls had squashed bugs on them which had not been wiped down, a hole in the wall like someone had punched it and it had been roughly filled in and painted. The window stills on both sides of the window had peeled paint on them which was laying on the window sill and it also appeared to have not been wiped down for a long time, the heater under the window had paint peeling off it as well and was rusty. The carpet looked like it had not been hoovered and the walls looked like it had been painted sometime in the past and was patchy to say the least. The bathroom was in the same condition as the rest of the room, the bath plug was mouldy and not attached to the bath, the only thing that looked clean was the bed linen. For what I paid I was not expecting it to be the Ritz, but you did not feel clean while staying in the room and it made you remember the experience for all the wrong reasons. I feel that when credit is due I will say it, but also the same for a bad experience. The only good thing I can say is that the chap on the front desk (sorry did not catch his name) was very helpful when trying to sort out the super slow wifi which Premier Inn use.
Would I stay here again as we have to go another two times to the hospital in the next couple of months..the answer is no. I have found a Green King pub very close to the hospital so will be trying them out. Hopefully the room will be a lot cleaner than Premier Inn Rotherham East. I filled in the survey that they send giving it a bad review and so far have had no reply from Premier Inn (surprise, surprise) had your money now not interest. Please see pictures for reference attached
- BSivie (4/5): Run down hotel with no real redeeming qualities - Booked this Hotel for its location as we were down for a hockey tournament,
On arrival the car park is quite busy and In really poor condition potholes all over and poorly maintained … oh and you have to pay to park too it’s is only £3 a night though but isn’t secure no barrier or cctv
Reception area is small and if you arrive at a busy time can be a squeeze with everyone’s bags and kids etc
Our room was a family sized room a good sized double bed and a single perfect for the 3 of us.
Room was very hot with no air conditioning (we did have a fan which made little difference) not sure if it was heat induced but the room smelt very musty with cobwebs and dust pretty much on all surfaces..
The bathroom had a good sized bath with shower water pressure is pretty grim and black mould on the ceiling however served it’s purpose
Restaurant is a beefeater, evening food is adequate breakfast is pretty good
- X6971LMnatashac (10/5): Lovely place - Very pleasant staff on the front desk, booked us in for breakfast and dinner at the beefeater restaurant attached to the hotel.
Bedroom was a good size for me and my wife, bed was very comfortable, had a fan to help cool down the room too which definitely helped!
Parking out the front was £3 for the night.
- josephinep744 (10/5): Fantastic staff and food - Comfortable stay with lovely food and good service in the restaurant. Front of house staff were welcoming and helpful. With a special mention to Jamie who is most possibly the politest and most helpful member of staff I have ever encountered at a UK hotel and I think we are on our 10th weekend away this year so far.
- chrissO5522GA (10/5): Great - The rooms is excellent as I have come
To expect with premier inns, Steve on the front desk was friendly and helpful.
The only complaint I have is about the Tripadvisor site having a 200 character minimum. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
- demblades1889 (4/5): Run down, avoid if possible until some money is spent upgrading - Staff good rest not so good.
Very noisy floorboards in our room, corridor and above us. Very little sleep
Mildew in bathroom, towels wouldn't dry. Beds aged, wifi poor.
Restaurant- seats all stained, carpets worn, plaster falling off, bar area cold and shut at 9pm. Window sills and blinds Very dusty.
Wheelchair user had to go outside to get from bar to room as no ramp or lift..in this day and age that's POOR.
Was meeting family and friends here but was too embarrassed due to how run down it is so ate and drank in other establishments.
Upgrade and renovation needed NOW.
Charge for car park now, something new.
Stayed here before but won't again until renovations are done.
Bet Lenny Henry would be horrified, as we were.
- L4985JCgaryf (6/5): Unsatisfied with service - The hotel itself was as expected,But first night no sleep due to a generator constantly going on and off,for this they gave us a free breakfast under policy it states refund if you don't get a good night. Also unable to bath/shower in the room as water was brown/urine colour this was reported at same time so they moved our room.see photo attached.
- Arran7225 (10/5): Good stay - Nice stay. The guy on reception, Jamie was brilliant. The beds were comfy and the rooms decent.
The car park is huge so no problems parking. We had lunch in the restaurant which was good and again the service was very good. We checked out on Mother’s Day, they had little gifts in reception for mums to take away.
- 40avrilb (8/5): Friendly welcome - Lovely staff, clean rooms. Happy to return again as reasonably priced for clean bed. Downsides - free WiFi not working and I thought the introduction of parking charges may have made parking a bit easier but not the case. Arrived early to secure a space in narrow bays.
