Guest Reviews
- Roland (8/5): - Hyggelig, lite, lokalt hotell.
Vennlig betjening og god frokost.
- thefrostmiester (10/5): Kew Gardens just over the river - Very friendly and helpful staff and manager.
We stayed in a plus room, very good.
Sorry for scaring the housekeeper when I went along the corridor for extra teabags.
First time in this Premier Inn, we previously stayed at the one in Richmond, but the staff were very miserable and unhelpful to the point of being rude.
Therefore, this was a much better stay.
Good to be able to meet the new manager and have a chat with him to feedback personally.
Good location for Kew Gardens.
- abigailaV440JI (8/5): Lovely cosy stay at hotel - Great value for money! Very friendly staff. Jesvil the manager was very kind and professional. Rooms warm and clean. Would definitely recommend. :)
- 388leeannc (10/5): Clean and value for money - Stayed her for 4 nights over a weekend, free breakfast included. We paid £200 for the 4 days.
Hotel was clean, staff were friendly. Breakfast was lovely.
Yes it’s tired, but if the price reflects it that, then it’s good value.
Room was large too. We stayed on the ground floor and it was quiet.
- wood_10 (2/5): Poor Emmerson Green you need a complete refit - This was a massive disappointment. No lit signs. The entrance had a pile of cigarette bits bottles and cartons on the floor.
Our allocated room smelt so musty and horrible that we asked to move. The 2 receptionist were super and very helpful and accommodating.
The towels were small and hard.
- bentB775OR (10/5): Thank you! - Clean rooms all warm and tidy, best thing was the staff they where wonderfully helpful, attentive and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect many thanks
- 341abdulmohsina (10/5): Come back again - Hotel rooms are clean and spacious , the staff are very friendly and helpful especially from Mr Jesvil, the food is delicious and fresh
- jennifercR2807ML (8/5): Good as a last minuite booking - Nice quiet place to sleep off a party weekend with clean room and kind customer care.also lovely food for a dinner or breakfeast experience.
- 396kaseyj (10/5): Great stay, couldn't fault it. - Friendly, helpful staff. Great nights sleep. Fab breakfast. Good location. Great value for money.
Couldn't fault it.
- megansX3500JB (10/5): Great stay - Only stayed for 1 night but had a great nights sleep before our early flight. Room spotlessly clean and bed really comfy!
- simonridley4469 (10/5): awesome experience - it was in an ideal location for us to stay near a friends house, the hotel was the cleanest one we have stayed in so far, you could smell fresh paint, the room was very clean and tidy, bed as expected super comfy and the shower was hot and clean. the breakfast was freshly filled when we went in and was very tasty. i highly recommend portishead for the friendly staff and well presented room
- 989nicola (10/5): Very happy with our stay. - Excellent Premier Plus rooms, excellent breakfast and the hotel manager, Angellica, is a credit to the hotel. The fridge in the room was a welcome upgrade and we felt the Premier Plus rooms were well worth the extra payment.
- swilkins (10/5): Better than most 4 star hotels - Better than most 4 star hotels. Stylish room, comfortable bed, fridge, posh coffee, tea, toiletries, free wi-fi, free and plenty car parking
- Caz2909 (6/5): Sad decline - I wrote this review a months ago but never submitted it. We’re back at the hotel now: the door is still not mended, and only one lift working All my comments are still relevant so here is. Been coming here for work-led/social purposes for many years and the decline is sad to see but again for balance - the staff are still unfailingly friendly, the breakfasts great, and location superb for Kew/the Archives/the Tube.
“Stayed here many times over the years but in that time it has gone downhill physically despite some rooms being upgraded. For example, the small area outside the bar is decidedly shabby; the carpets on the ground floor are stained and the chairs in reception damaged. The bath panel in the room we stayed in this time was buckled and coming away. The door/buzzer from the car park (which is filthy) is flaky - the last twice we’ve stayed here we had to walk round to the main entrance: one or other the lifts is often not working. The wi-fi is pretty dreadful whichever room you’re in too. The wiring on the hairdryers is iffy (in every room we’ve stayed in!) as they cut out if you move the dryer in a certain direction. The new check-in system (l believe it’s Horizon…. say no more) seems to be an issue: it took us 15 minutes to check in this time and even then it double-charged us for breakfast.
Having said all that, the staff are friendly and welcoming, the breakfasts are amazing, and the hotel is conveniently placed for Kew Gardens (and the National Archives) - both walkable.
Overall, then, the hotel definitely feels tired and in need of some TLC, hence only three stars, down from the five l would have given a year or so back.”
- 612andyd (10/5): Lovely stay - Excellent value. The room was very clean and tidy. We had breakfast one morning which was very good value. Highly recommended
- 666leesal (10/5): Good value hotel. - Great value hotel in a good location for lots of sight seeing on a short break. Service and cleanliness was good. Good night's sleep due to blackout curtains and nice quality bed linen. Great for a short stay but we were staying 4 nights and a family of 3 so not enough hangers or hand towels supplied. No heated towel rails nor radiators to dry the towels either. Room felt a little claustraphobic as the window was sealed so could not be opened, never had that in a hotel before. Breakfast next door was good but they did not have hash browns one day and had to wait 20 mins for pastries to be cooked. Also the Sunday carvery menue in the room said til 6pm but when we went at 4.30 it had finished. The tables were all sticky and the toilets were disgusting at the Brewers Fayre so very dissapointing having paid for evening meals at the hotel to be let down by this.
- rockwellpottery (8/5): Very enjoyable stay with friendly staff. - We have stayed at Emerson Green more than five times over the last few years. We have found the staff very efficient, helpful and very cheerful. The rooms are clean, and warm with the usual TV, Wi-fi, towels and comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay.
- babslewis1955 (10/5): Goid value - Great location, tucked out of the way but short walk to the marina and high street. Walk to the Marina is a lane that has been tarmaced so can be a bit messy after rain but only takes a few minutes
- WombatBournemouth (10/5): Perfect for short trip to London - Great stay. Always consistently reliable. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast really good, constantly restocked with fresh supplies, despite it being busy. Easy parking. Manageable 15 min walk to the station.
The hotel has a new manager, Jesvil, who was extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. Would def recommend.
- S4073GQpaulr (10/5): Excellent hotel. - One of the best Premier Inns I have stayed in recently. Some newly refurbished rooms of excellent quality & comfort. Feels like 'home from home'. Quiet rooms.
- dijami18 (2/5): Poor night sleep - Very poor nights sleep as thermostat in room would not turn down . We couldn’t sleep as room was so hot …
We complained and were told it should work and there was nothing else they could do
After a very poor nights sleep we filled in the form to complain under their good nights sleep guarantee as advised . This was turned down as this was apparently not covered with this “ guarantee”
Will never use premier inns again
- alexpV7HZ (10/5): Friendly staff, good room for the family - Stayed here with wife and two kids to go to Kew Gardens. The walk is about 15 minutes.
Hotel was good, everyone enjoyed the breakfast, kids liked the chap on front desk offering chocolates!
Room was clean and fine for us four, with a bath and shower. We always look forward to the hash browns for breakfast.
Friendly staff, would recommend.
- sarahuT3742KO (10/5): Great hotel next to river. - A big thank you to Jesuil, Joaquim, Carl and Sheldon for making my stays at Premier Inn Kew Bridge so wonderful. Have been staying on and off here for 11 weeks consecutively and the staff here were exceptionally helpful and kind and made all my stays great in so many ways. Really glad Jes took the manager post - he now heads a fantastic team. Special thanks to Carl for nice rooms.
The hotel is well located near to Kew Gardens and backing onto the river which is only a 2 minute walk away. Great pubs nearby like The Weir and the Beehive which have live music and a traditional nostalgic feel. Great place overall.
- andyd205 (10/5): Ideal Location - Really good location! Ideal for a Friday night stay and an early trip into London and the Albert Hall the following day, Saturday! 👍😃🙏🌈
- ishamiahh (2/5): Worst Premier Inn room I've stayed in - - Bath was unclean: hair in the bath and soap smudged on the sides. Different types of hair all over the bathroom walls. The mirror had smudges, and the toilet had some brown stains at the bottom.
- Bits of what looked like food splattered on the bedroom curtains.
- The vanity mirror had drops of bodily fluids near the top.
- The room stank of cigarettes.
- Tea mugs had not been cleaned and were dirty.
- One socket was busted and exposed.
- The only good thing was that I forgot my charger head, and a staff member kindly lent me one to use. I wasn't able to change rooms because when I told another member of staff that one of the sockets had busted, he said I couldn't change rooms.
- Ambassador812504 (2/5): Disappointing Stay at Premier Inn - 1. The lift wasn't working and we were put on 4th floor. We're both OAP with hip + breathing issues which made accessing the room a nightmare.
2. Wanted Twin Beds and were given a Double bed.
3. Our Room was NOT SERVICED which was rather a shock when we returned at 11 o'clock at night very tired!
4. NO APOLOGIES WERE GIVEN FOR ANY OF THE ABOVE AND WE WERE LEFT HANGING AROUND WAITING FOR THE STAFF TO COME OUT AND LET US KNOW WHAT WAS HAPPENING BUT THEY DIDNT. EXTREMELY RUDE DISRESPECTFUL BEHAVIOUR!!!
I stay at Premier Inn several times a year and this must have been the worst stay ever!
I organised for my Party of 5 to stay with Premier Inn (independently booked) on the basis of my previous good stays at Premier Inn. Very embarrassing!
- anthonysG8786JH (10/5): Exeptional kindness at a National Hotel chain .... - From the moment of arrival we were greeted with genuine and delightful greeting .......from lovely Reception staff ....Adele and Lizzie.....firstly confirming our Accessible booking .....and subsequently offering to assist my wife and I with any difficulties we might encounter ...their kindness and the super room we were taken to has prompted me to write this report .........this hotel , despite not currently offering evening meals ....was in my opinion a SUPER choice ....based on the above .....
- 830cathieg (8/5): Comfy, needs a little attention but staff make up for any minor wear and tear - Staff more than make up for the slight wear and tear that is starting to show at this hotel.
Every single member of staff was pleasant, friendly and welcoming.
Arrived too early to check in, but this wasn’t an issue and my bags were securely stored. On arrival back, the key was already prepared, bags returned and straight up to my room, no faffing.
Room was decent size, bed is usual Premier Inn comfy, clean and tidy. Slight wear on the carpet with the bathroom, but on the whole, pleasant. Great heat from the shower.
I thought I’d booked breakfast, and Sidhu took time to check and informed me I hadn’t. No issue, I could go for breakfast and pay when I was leaving, totally relaxed.
Back to pack, grabbed bags and was struggling to open the door, the housekeeping lady could see me struggling and straight away left her cart to help me with a smile.
I was slightly nervous about the car park as I hadn’t reserved and had read a couple of negative reviews online. There was plenty of space, parked in the Premier Inn section and made sure there were no valuables on display.
On the whole, the hotel needs a tiny tweak with carpets fraying, but more than makes up for staff being pleasant, friendly and helpful. All of them.
- dagobertoc378 (10/5): Good review - Thank you For the Stay, Sheldon and Joaquim are amazing peaople. They took good Care of us anf we are glad to stay here. Thank you.
- katiesK9626YG (10/5): Good value, clean hotel in good location. - Good location and goodvalue for money. Clean, quiet rooms. Friendly staff. Great breakfast.
Parking a little confusing but staff were helpful when asked.
- Kaz67g (10/5): Absolutely Brilliant!!!! - We recently stayed here for 3 nights & Mum had a premier plus accessible room & I had a standard double , even before we stayed the service was excellent, I emailed to check I could have a room near to Mums so I could assist her & immediately got a lovely email reassuring me it was no problem, on arrival the receptionist ( I think Emily) was extremely friendly & went above & beyond to help us. ALL the staff from management/receptionists to the housekeeping team were friendly helpful and went above & beyond. The rooms were very well equipped especially the premier plus . Premier inn you should be very proud of your staff in this hotel they are absolutely brilliant, & the hotel is very welcoming, very clean and extremely well run, we recently stayed at a well known upmarket New Forest Hotel and their staff were not a patch on yours. Highly recommended +++++++++
- dawnf813 (10/5): Fun in London - Just wanted to share our lovely stay at Kew , from meeting the manager at check in to the other staff who were all polite and helpful , the weekend was a delight . You are all a credit to this premier inn , thank you . Just a helpful note to guests , the 65 bus runs to Richmond regularly . Premier inn car park below , quite tight for a larger car
- BishyBoo (6/5): Mixed - This was our first stay in this PI as we were attending a wedding in the area, the staff were extremely helpful as we had 11am check-in we actually got our room at 10.40am. It was very clean and tidy no dust , mould or smells which I had heard about. We had quite poor sleep as our room backed onto a busy roundabout and traffic and sirens most of the night. We had breakfast which was in the new social area as the adjoining restaurant is permanently closed, it consisted of 4 rooms knocked into a kitchen with buffet area and extremely small, very nicely decorated and immaculately clean, food looked was very good but unfortunately the bacon was cremated way beyond crispy, such a shame my only complaint
- V9862RFwilliamb (6/5): Definately not value for money. - Did a review on the Premier Inn website with the choice to share with Tripadvisor, but could not submit by that route 🤔
Great Staff, prompt check in, a short stroll to view the Thames and in a vibrant part of Brentford.
Expensive for 1 night for a standared room, compared to other parts of London. Car parking expensive for 1 night and would not want to park their for any longer than was required.
- I1482WVjuliec (6/5): Good hotel, poor breakfast - The room was very nice and bed comfortable, we did have a good nights sleep. Within an easy 10-15 minute walk of the High Street in Portishead.
What let the hotel down was breakfast. Sticky table, dirty cutlery, dirty glasses, carpet needed vacuuming. Scrambled eggs tasteless and strange texture, mushrooms tasteless, I could go on. There is a Sainsbury’s next door probably with a cafe and a Wetherspoons within a 10 minutes walk, perhaps better options.
- J1824MJsusans (10/5): Premier Plus room is brilliant. - We've stayed at several Premier Inn's but first time staying in a Premier Plus room. A little more expensive than the Standard rooms but well worth it. Really lovely decor, very smart and modern and lots of great facilities such as iron and ironing board and a fab coffee machine, with instructions, which is usually a problem at some places we've stayed. Spotlessly clean. Can't fault any of the hotel. It was spot on. Staff were friendly and welcoming and check in was super easy. We booked breakfast which was next door at the Brewers Fayre and that was great too. Staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was good quality. We were visiting family in the area and would definitely stay here again on our next visit. It's worth noting that Premier Plus rooms aren't available at every Premier Inn so check before booking in other areas.
- 228vivienb (10/5): Great stay - Very comfortable, easy to check in even though it was late at night, helpful friendly staff, everything we needed to refresh for another day at Kew 😊
- L6372ZGmalcolmm (6/5): Premier inn Bristol - Disappointed restaurant next door closed after such a long drive from Devon. Found room a little dusty and bathroom did not look clean,Toilet and seat staining, sealent a little mouldy around Bath/ shower
Soap dispenser certainly seen better days and we found room a little smelly which a few other guest said the same, heater control did not work
- angelacJ5969HS (10/5): Lovely stay - Just stayed 2 nights for the woman’s rugby World Cup.
Great location for catching the bus to Ashton gate. 15 walk down to the marina where there is some lovely restaurants.
Lots of free parking.
Rooms are immaculate, roomy & very comfortable beds. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Would definitely stay again when next in the area.
- dianeridley (10/5): weekend break - We spent a couple of days here and was very pleased with our experience. Staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly.
Breakfast choice was very good and plentiful supplies both mornings.
The location with parking was ideal with reasonable car parking fees.
- K3808CUstepheng (4/5): Ruined by lack of air con - Parking good, staff good and breakfast very good. But stay ruined by lack of air conditioning in the rooms. It looked as though hotel originally had air con (thermostats, vents etc) but not working in any of the rooms. Temperature in our first floor room did not drop below 21C. You can imagine how bad our night was.
- 968johnw (10/5): Premier Inn service standards fully met. - Did everything as promised so satisfied in all respects. Great service by good staff. Good sized room. Breakfast as expected and no hassle.
- helen2206 (10/5): Good all round hotel. I would definitely stay here again the value for money the location and a stone throw from loads o - I came to Bristol. To visit family I had stayed here about six years ago and reading the reviews. I wasn’t sure what to expect.
I can’t speak highly enough about the hotel yes it’s a tiny bit tired but the rooms are clean large and the staff are really lovely
Breakfast is excellent. There’s something to please everybody I’ve been here two days and I definitely will be staying here again.
- 211farhanak (10/5): Affordable hotel stay - It was a very comfortable and cosy stay. The ride to the hotel is also quite picturesque. It has two Sainsbury's nearby which makes it a great location.
- MEPik (10/5): Very comfortable and very helpful staff - Had a quiet comfortable twin room as a stopover on way to South West. Requested same room on return journey to include a bathmat. Staff were very helpful and sorted us out. Very good customer service.
- leepZ8706YR (2/5): Bad - Staff ineregated us because I booked two adults and a child which was 15 ! They didn’t believe that and caused a seen at breakfast I’m really not happy with this ! They should state when I book online if they want I’d for the child not two days into our stay, very disappointed
- 182lyndav (4/5): Disappointing stay - A very disappointing experience. Accessible rooms with no walk in shower. Shabby carpets, dusty bedroom, bar closed at 10.30pm and we were not able to get a drink at 10.32pm.
Not particularly good value for the money
- andywV6563QU (2/5): Crap. Food was ,Not Cooked, the Steak I asked for, wasnt what i got, Wrong Cut of meat & soRaw, it nearly ran off the plate. - This has to be the Worst place I Have EVER Eaten in.
My Steak was Not the Steak I asked for or paid for. I asked for a 8oz Sirlion. They Broughton a rump which was about 5oz`s .I asked for my meal to be cooked Medium, It came out Tiching,& when I cut into it, It Bled like it's Throat had just be cut.I asked for it to go back.
When it came back, the Outside was Burnt, The inside was exactly the same. I asked for the manager to get my £££ back, when he eventually came out the man was very Sheepish.I asked for my money back, which he said he would do , He Tried saying that they only been open 3 ẅeeks & was Still getting things sorted ,Sorry But if your Not Ready to Open up, where you have the Right Food to give the Customers ,You Shouldn't of Opened,
- jackiewB3591MB (6/5): Not the best premier we have stayed in - Cleanliness wasnt the best grout in shower black, corners of rooms extremely dusty.
Only 1 coffee sachet in room empty packet left from previous occupents. Decor needs updating and carpets cleaned
- Maps19420884929 (8/5): Fine - Pleasant stay room clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful disappointed with breakfast. Plenty of room in car park
- 658tuesdayc (10/5): Great stay - Very friendly welcoming staff, check in/ check out process quick and easy, clean and tidy accommodation, no air con but there was a fan in the room to use would definitely come back again
- davidpR6466OZ (8/5): Good midweek stay. - Yes the room we stayed in was ‘tired’ and suffocatingly hot (despite the open window and fan going all night) but we got a midweek deal for £70 including a good breakfast so happy with that.
Also the staff were really friendly both on the desk and in the restaurant next door.
Note the restaurant is being prepared for a full refurb so presumably will not be available in the near future. Check before you go if this is important as there’s nothing much else nearby
- margaretannj2025 (10/5): Helpful - We arrived without a booking having abandoned the worst nightmare accommodation. The ladies at reception were amazing, sorted us out without fuss. They went beyond and above to help. Whatever your choice or expectations are, the staff will help.
- 139alisonl (10/5): Really friendly, professional team! - So appreciated the front of house staff on both Friday night and Saturday morning. Really smiley, bright and welcoming…
Much the best we’ve had on our travels!
- johnsandra11 (6/5): Expensive - At £156 a night with no added breakfast was a joke , no extras in room , a shower in a bath with no bath mat ( slippery & dangerous ) thin walls & noise from car park outside window , disappointment
- 159robertm159 (6/5): A bit tired - and no decent food next door any more. - A bit of a tired hotel, in need of a spruce-up, but the rooms are good, a very comfy bed and the breakfast in the morning was fine too. Shame about the wifi quality (and the fact that they offer you an upgrade to wifi for an extra £5 a day, which I regard as a rip-off).
They really ought to have advice on places to go to eat. It is no longer a Beefeater next door, but a very poorly run and scruffy pub. They do allegedly serve food there, but during my three nights stay there was no food one day, and only left-over carvery from lunchtime on another. Not Premier Inn's fault, but they could let customers know what is in the vicinity.
But, for what I wanted it was still fine, and I would certainly use it again if I needed somewhere in the area.
- 983gordont (10/5): Great stay as always at Portishead, twice in 15 days - Stayed 10th July outward journey to Cornwall and 25th July homeward journey.
Both stays as we expect, great welcome and service, great room and bed and available fan as both evenings were warm. We had clean towel, bedding and tea making facilities.
Regular users of Premier inn around the country and used Portishead annually on our holidays to Cornwall. I receive what i eexpect from premier Inn, great stay no issues, friendly and supportive staff t reception on check in and out and if needed during stay.
- pamb368 (6/5): Avoid the eatery - The Premier Inn at Portishead was an o/n stay, we were warned there was ongoing work and were prepared for this.
the building itseld whilst clean is looking a bit tired.
The staff were Excellent
However, the eatery associated with the Inn is a Brewers Fare, as there were no other food options nearby we booked an evening meal and breakfast deal.
We were disapointed with the interior, the general cleanliness was poor. The floor, seats and skirtings were filthy where we sat. The garden area was even worse, overgrown weeds, seagulls landing eating food remains on plates.
No staff were dealing with this. There was a fairly lax attitude all round.
- richardpA2997UD (8/5): Haven in Parched Bristol - A lovely lady called Faye welcomed us to the hotel and couldn’t have been more pleasant and kind! She also took stock of our slightly bedraggled family status and happily informed us we had an air conditioned room! The room was bliss and the nights sleep was perfect thanks to the a/c. The pub next door was ideal for a drink and breakfast was perfect for our little team. Thank you Premier Inn Portishead for making some weary travellers much happier!
- Biscuit27 (10/5): Nice little premier inn - Good little premier inn with free parking. Staff were very friendly and the room was clean. There was no air conditioning but as it was hit they’d left some bottled water and a fan so it was manageable. We ate in the restaurant which was ok quality too.
- Wander42250860962 (10/5): Super hotel - Excellent ,,staff perfect ,,certainly had no problems with hotel, room and certainly no issues with the wonderful staff ,they deserve a badge of honour from the help they gave with a bad case of heat exhaustion ,,101 percent effort all round from all staff and ian thanks
