Guest Reviews
- K1506BZpaulb (10/5): Comfortable and clean - The hotel was clean, warm and comfortable with the service at reception and at breakfast second to none. Our thanks to Charlene in particular for looking after us in the Dining Room (the exterior needs a lick of paint though…)!
- ClintonF108 (10/5): SOPHIE THE SUPERSTAR!! - I arrived from Heathrow about 5 hours before the check-in time and was expecting to wait in the foyer until 12pm. I was warmly greeted by the hotel manager Roy and Trudy at reception. Much to my surprise I was checked in, shown to my room and offered a hot breakfast, all at no additional cost. Roy and Trudy's exemplory customer service is a true credit to Premier Inn Gosport.
The in-house staff are amazing!!
Special shout out to the infectiously delightful Sophie 😊 Sophie is warm, genuine, engaging, and absolutely hilarious.!! ( also has an amazing singing voice!!) Nothing is too much trouble for Sophie. Sophie is also a credit to Premier Inn Gosport.
The entire team are amazing and genuinely hospitable.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Oh, and the room, bed and shower are top notch.
I would most definitely stay here again!
- 7DavidC (6/5): Not the usual standard. - Not the usual standard. The air con/heating was not working, windows could not be opened for fresh air so made the stay uncomfortable. The resteraunt was not available in the evening unless you had a pre booked package as their card machines were not working. This was unacceptable but staff said they could do nothing. All in all not a good stay.
- BTLT023 (10/5): Expected!! - Just what you expect from a premier inn, friendly team, delicious hot breakfast, a very spacious room which was very clean and smelling fresh.
Close to links to gosport ferry, shops across the road, plenty of parking and its FREE.
- PaulSmithbristol (4/5): Needs attention - While this hotel had most of the usual premier inn features and the staff were friendly and helpful it needs some work.
The room had a strange difficult to define odour
The tap in the bathroom sink couldn’t produce hot water (luckily the bath one did)
The extractor didn’t work, I think there was one - which meant the mirror was completely steamed up making shaving difficult
The breakfast area was tiny and the selection limited - not up to usual PI good standard
- wing yi (10/5): - 各方面都唔錯 附近又有大型超市 最重要酒店有冷氣
- Susan2395 (6/5): Enjoy the sleep breakfast elsewhere. - Excellent bedroom and efficient staff. Poor breakfast offer. No butter or margarine at 9.05 am on a Tuesday morning, none could be purchased because they had to wait for the delivery lorry. That arrived at 9.45, jokes about the butter and then the staff sat down to freshly cooked breakfast items and toast, with butter.
- W6244PWalisham (10/5): Great location - Stayed here recently whilst visiting family.
Saw to different receptionist. Amy and Suzy. They were so polite when checking in/out. Advised us on the restaurant next door. The room was spacious and clean. Everything we need for myself my husband and our daughter.
- helenwZ1037YZ (10/5): Classic good Premier inn - A good Premier inn as always, warm comfortable and clean. Staff friendly & helpful.
Had evening meal in restaurant next door, ok nothing special but breakfast was excellent and morning staff very friendly
- J4575VXbrianc (2/5): Everything about this place screams zero effort. - The dirtiest hotel I have ever seen in the UK. Everything about this place screams zero effort. Check in was just waiting at a desk for 10min because the buzzer didn’t work. Walking to the room, the carpets were dirty and bits of food were just lying around.
The room is bare bones, and I’m afraid to put my bag down on the chair because of the massive stain and the overall unclean look of it. I checked the bed and found just two squiggly little hairs nestled in there with pillows that look like they’ve been through some rough times.
THB I’m not too excited about my next few days here.
Oh, and the bathroom looks decent, but I’ll have to walk in with shoes because I’m afraid to put my feet on the carpet in here.
- Breedingzone (10/5): Wonderful Premier inn, great location. - One of the better Premier Inn's, perfect location to enjoy the quays area, some fantastic restaurants and bars around the hotel.
We received a lovely welcome, our 4th floor room had a good view and it was very clean, spacious and quiet.
The black out curtains ensured a very dark room and the bed was extremely comfortable.
The bathroom was spotless and the towels were thick, fluffy and clean.
We didn't have the hotel breakfast so we can't comment on that.
- S7558VKjohnt (10/5): Excellent 2 days holiday - Only stayed for 2 nights and it was fantastic everyone was friendly and helpful. Staff on hand 24/7 and always helpful. Clean and tidy
- Getaway68186075066 (8/5): Accommodated for all dietary requirements - The hotel was in a good location and there was plenty of free parking for hotel guests.
Breakfast was served every morning (available to book the night before at reception) and catered for all dietary requirements.
Special thanks to Lee, Immy and Charlene who were wonderful especially regarding safely meeting dietary requirements.
Reception staff (day & night) were all very friendly and helpful as well as the shift managers.
The only thing that was a let down was the lack of cleaning. Despite putting the sign on my door mainly for towels, bedding and bins to be changed and notifying reception, this wasn't always achieved. However reception did manage to sort this issue out by providing extras and then reiterating it to cleaning staff. This is the only reason for a 4 star not 5.
Thanks for the stay, im sure I will be back!
- michaeljC9283GG (8/5): A restful few days - easy to get to from railway station about £7 parking was very good although we did not use it. Check in fine however, if you did not pay the extra for early check in, it is 3pm
- Reesnewinn (10/5): A great stay - It was a great experience where everyone was really helpful and there was an amazing selection of food. The staff were really friendly and chatty especially Charlene and Immy. Thank you very much for our wonderful stay.
- N910EHlenan (10/5): Fab hotel - Absolutely loved my stay, rooms are very spacious and clean. The staff are very knowledgeable and location was perfect for linking to the motorway.
- lrrnmorton (10/5): a pleasant one night stay - Really clean, staff were pleasant. Beds were comfortable. Good size bathroom.
plenty of parking.
Very close to the docks and Quays shopping.
- bevm423 (10/5): Fantastic Breakfast - Had a really great stay ,the room was spotless and we had the most fantastic breakfast both days thanks to Chef Lee and Charlene you made the stay extra special ☺️
- stevebD4744RJ (10/5): All good, way to go. - All good, no issues. Excellent stay.
Hotel and restaurant recommended.
All staff very helpful and giving friendly service.
- barrygL3909PH (8/5): Good experience. Will use again. - Generally a good premier inn, very clean, and friendly. Breakfast available. Nothing fancy but meets needs well.
Could do with a hot drinks machine in reception though!
- clivec565 (10/5): Excellent Stay - I have just a pleasant stay at this great value for money hotel. Very clean and comfortable ,excellent staff Shannon Beau and Aimee are very polite and helpful.Good location bus outside goes to city centre.
- jec2605 (10/5): Shopping weekend - Easy review. Great warm. Very clean. Staff very friendly and an excellent location for what we wanted. Fantastic breakfast. Will come again
- Cmiller850912 (10/5): Welcoming and friendly - The lady on reception was so helpful and welcoming. She was really friendly and had a chat with me about my new job, when it came to check out the same lady was there and wished me good luck and asked me how I was doing which I thought was really nice as it felt personable
- garyibbo (8/5): Clean with good service - Stayed at this Premier Inn a few times, Staff are always polite and happy to see you, it always has appeared clean.
They take your breakfast order rather than it being a buffet which means you get freshly cooked eggs.
- chriswY9108SA (10/5): Best breakfast I've had from a hotel in a while - Genuinely had the best breakfast from a hotel that i have had in ages. Staff are all super friendly and could not do more for you
- O4881RXivanp (10/5): Premiere inn the best place to be staying - Very friendly and polite staff. Very Very helpful. Very knowledgeable. I recommend this hotel. You will not regret your stay here.
- dianaaU8583JW (4/5): Needs refurbishment - Rooms are now very old and tired. Carpets, although hoovered, are grubby and well worn. Not pleasant to see or walk on! Seals around shower had mildew and the paint on the shower room ceiling was peeling! With the money charged I’m sure Premier Inns can afford a refurbishment. Stay there out of necessity only
- owene714 (10/5): Excellent experience - Really good experience at this Premier Inn. Aimee on reception was very welcoming and on hand to help whenever it was needed. The room was very clean and has everything I needed.
- nicci9 (8/5): Nightmare parking! - Booked this hotel for a Saturday night away. Great location, lovely rooms, friendly staff. Parking is a massive issue here. We arrived when there was a game on in the ice rink next door, there was no parking anywhere, cars were parked all over the place. We had to wait for a car to move before we could park.
- coupe19 (2/5): Staff amazing bed not so - Staff amazing breakfast amazing could not fault them one bit, but bed terrible no sleep for 2 nights manager was lovely, but as I didn’t report it in the middle of the night after a 5 hr drive premier in. Good night sleep policy does not cover this what an absolute joke.
Premier inn good night sleep policy is worthless so after 10 years we will stay elsewhere. Customer service couldn’t care less
- Y562ILstephenp (8/5): Accessible room - I would like to thank the reception team for helping my wife move to a more accessible room because room 6 did not have a accessible bed.[to high] they moved us to room 10 which had a accessible bed. And she had a good night's sleep.
- P4lin (10/5): Excellent team on Reception - We stay here regularly when visiting family. We always receive friendly and helpful service from the welcoming team on Reception. They are very responsive to any requests, which we appreciate. The rooms are consistently good, matching our expectations of the Premier Inn brand and we enjoy having breakfast at the neighbouring Whittle Inn. Thank you for the Reception team.
- marchmia1996 (10/5): Amazing - Had a fantastic time, went for a couple of nights, ended up leaving something behind and got it sent to us thank you so much meant a lot doing that ❤️
- moyse636 (8/5): Ok - The Hotel was ok bed and room bathroom was excellent but very noisy younger guests my wife went out to sort out a big group of children running around the inside of the building they were not guests the hotels in general are becoming noisier
- Excursion802097 (10/5): The best hotel in the world - My experience in this hotel cannot be compared to any hotel I have stayed in. Amazing experience. Excellent staff. Breakfast was really good and staff were very friendly. Chefs were great. They checked-in to see if we needed any more food. Hotel rooms were of amazing sizes and comfort like no other. They so nice to the children and gave them some gifts.
- U4837ZVjoanneh (10/5): Spacious room and great breakfast - The hotel is well located, close to leisure and shopping facilities, and of interest to us, Fort Brockhurst is just a few minutes walk away. The family room for 4 people was spacious and clean and the bathroom was nice to use - good size bath and the water was hot. Comfy beds, quiet, and free WiFi. Really good full breakfast - including the vegan options.
- W2182MLlesleyh (8/5): PI at Gosport, first visit, interesting - All good, apart from the toddler constantly running up and down in the room above us. this wenton for 1.5 hours.
The staff apologised. I think toddlers should be put on the ground floor.
Apart from this the service and staff were excellent as usual. We have stayed in many PIs
- bwD9437ZO (10/5): Overall good stay - Good value for money the rooms are very clean with air-conditioning staff are helpful and friendly I checked in after 9pm and check in was quick and easy would stay there again when visiting gloucester
- F6863ZRjohnk (10/5): Great stay and great staff - Stay was for one night, staff were friendly and with the A/C cooled room meant out stay during the heat was fantastic. This was not the end however as when unpacking our camping gear a few days later we realised we had left our new electric pump in the room. One phone call later and Sam confirmed it had been found and we just needed to arrange a courier to collect it as we live over 120 miles away. Sam was very helpful and even punt the pump in a box so it could be sent. Thanks again for all your help and we will no doubt be staying at your hotel in the future.
- billygW761RM (10/5): Amazing service - Rooms were very nice and spacious, the receptionist Aimee was extremely helpful, the stay was perfect, would recommend
- paulhobbs (6/5): Great hotel go elsewhere for breakfast - No complaints about the hotel itself the room was typical Premier Inn .clean ,tidy , well equipped but the restaurant was a different story both days we had to prove we had prepaid for breakfast as they hadn’t got it on their records,
Both days at least 50% of the hot food offerings were missing mainly because the one person cooking couldn’t keep up with demand the pastries were all empty No juices of any kind !
Not enough staff to do the job! The place was a mess! Didn’t risk the evening dining!
- ameliajG8752DY (10/5): A good family stay on route to the south - Great location for travelling south on M5. Electric charging point was a godsend.
Room was spacious and comfortable for four of us.
There is plenty of parking (free when we went but I think that’s changing).
We enjoyed eating out at historic quay in Gloucester.
- RichardW986 (6/5): Unusually disappointing. - As regular Premier Inn visitors we have visited this one multiple times, and this time was unfortunately disappointing!
I was alone this time, usually as a couple. When I entered the room there was a noticeable strange smell. As I was booking in, another family was complaining about something or other in their room and were told the hotel was fully booked, so I thought I could live with it, HOWEVER...
When I moved the bin from the back to the front of the desk, I saw that somebody's food had been left in it, and it was crawling with fruit flies, many of which escaped into the room.
I took the bin down to reception, and explained (!) that I hadn't ordered the contents!
To be fair, after consulting the Duty Manager, I was: -
a) Given a change of room (in a supposedly fully-booked hotel)
b) Credited with my continental breakffast, and
c) Given a free Full English breakfast
all by way of compensation.
However I'm not sure if the experience soured my visit but for the first time ever, I had a terrible night's sleep in a Premier Inn, and it wasn't because my wife wasn't there; she had been away herself for two nights and I could sleep for England!
As for the restaurant, in which I had my free Full English, the fried eggs were overcooked under the heat lamps, dried up, and rubbery, the bacon was similarly dried up, my sausage and mushrooms were perfect. The coffee machine had packed up so I had to have instant, and I had the last of the orange juice; all the others were empty. I was glad I didn't have the continental breakfast; the offerings looked equally disappointing. The lady greeter was cheerful and charming to a fault.
Given previous experience, we would certainly go back if we needed to be in town, (where I was dragged up), if only for the free parking, but otherwise there are others available on the outskirts of the city. We would, however, be breakfasting in the adjacent Costa or, as we have once before, in the Weatherspoons up at The Quays, 'The Lord High Constable of England', (yes honest!).
SORT OUT THE RESTAURANT!
- Daydream61612687548 (6/5): Restaurant Staff need a lesson in Customer Service - Firstly, must mention the actual Premier Inn is clean and decent. The windows however not opening are a problem because the air con is super loud. Really miss fresh air!
Our major issues were with the associated restaurant/bar across the car park. When we arrived I noticed the table hadn't been wiped, so I asked the staff for a spray and cloth because the table was dirty and the woman behind the bar handed me the spray and cloth to do it myself. I mean I didn't mind but you'd think that they'd offer to that do seeing as a) they get paid to do it not me b) it was not busy in any way (5 people in the bar/restaurant and c) they were just stood there twiddling their thumbs. The staff were completely unaware of the meal deals, the happy hour deals, and took our order incorrectly. We ordered 10 Veg Tomato Pasta but instead we received Spaghetti Bolognese. My daughter didn't mind so much so she ate it but I thought it was just another thing to add to the list of failures. One woman working on shift didn't know how to smile and the other apparently had only started working there that night so had to keep asking Smiler for help. Morning service for breakfast was no better. Coffee machine broken, no bread products, I had to ask twice for bread so we could have toast. A woman came out with a plate of 4 muffins and then proceeded to hand them over to a family who were leaving and taking them on the run. I had to quickly grab some for my kids before she gave what little there was away. To sum up, the staff have no customer service skills whatsoever.
- 190rogerc (4/5): Premier Inn sadly you have gone downhill - Two of us stayed three nights in a Premier Plus room with breakfast and one dinner. Location of the hotel is very good. Only one member of staff on duty. No automatic room cleaning, you have to tell reception if you want your room cleaned. The room was ok except that the bath/shower with a glass screen was difficult to get in and out of and may lead to falls. As others have mentioned the smart tv hdmi connection did not work. It was worth paying a little more for an upgraded room. The ex beefeater restaurant was another matter. At breakfast the quality of the offering was poor and items were not refilled. The coffee was awful. Tables were very sticky. We ate twice and gave up on the third booking. Dinner was dead, dead slow. Tables sticky. White wine was not served chilled. There was no sign of a manager on duty and the staff although polite and friendly lacked direction. Overall we would return to the hotel but eat elsewhere.
- paulbY1689LJ (4/5): Needs new manager - Where do I start, let’s start with the positives , room ( premier plus ) was clean and tidy, Now the negatives, no cleaner in 4days, apparently you have to request its cleaned , no one fills the coffee up you have to ask for them more coffee which we were told had run out, no one on reception,
Then we have the breakfast / restaurant , what a joke, they barely have enough food for your breakfast, coffee machine broken, run out of bread, orange juice , it just goes on, staff were not bothered and have no people skills , overall would certainly not recommend at all
- Amy19890 (10/5): Halfway point - Halfway point to Cornwall stayed here to visit family and as a rest stop on the way to our holiday to Cornwall and it was great receptionist interacted with the kids this is rare to see but was clean and a happy visit
- timcK7872PL (4/5): Disappointing stay - As a Premier Inn regular, I found this experience extremely disappointing.
The bed, as ever, was extremely comfortable. However, we had booked a plus room with meal deal. We were not given an Internet code - I had to go back down to get it. When I tried to use it on a second device, it wouldn't let me, so I had to go back down again!
We hadn't been given any information about the restaurant, so had to ask. It was only then that I was told we needed to book! The receptionist didn't even seem to have any idea that we had paid for the meal deal. The restaurant was across the car park in an unmarked building that wasn't obvious, although there was a scrappy A board just inside the lobby (not obvious as you entered the hotel).
Dinner service was very slow. There only appeared to be one lady serving. I ordered a curry, but she then came back and advised me they didn't have any! She hadn't brought a menu for me to reconsider my choice, but remembering there was a different curry on the menu, I ordered that instead. A few minutes later, she was back again - this time to advise they didn't have any rice! So, I had chips instead.
When it came to watching TV, we wanted to stream a programme, so plugged my computer into the HDMI socket - only to find it didn't work. Eventually worked out how to cast from my tablet, but the picture kept breaking up, so just hand held the tablet and watched direct instead. Later twigged that maybe the tablet needed to be closer to the TV, which solved the problem.
Breakfast was another disappointment. The advertised mushrooms and hash browns were not available. My wife had the last marmalade. There didn't seem to be much of anything. Forks were missing from our table, as was pepper and sauces, which we had to take from other tables. Our table was also very sticky, suggesting it hadn't been cleaned properly.
- GoPlaces15915648805 (2/5): Another example of greed over value - Friendlier staff for a start, also staff that can see you carrying heavy bags, then they just let the door shut behind them on you. A room that has a net curtain so that the curtains can be opened but still maintianing privacy.
A shower that actually has a decent flow, I've seen snails go faster than the shower.
No car parking charge. The prices that I paid for staying there was steep enough, but then to have the cheek to charge parking on top of that, i'm sorry, but even dick turpin wore a mask. And as for next years prices as I had a look, lets just say, I will not be staying here again (almost £700 for 4 nights). Pure greed and less about the customer, are they trying to put people off booking so that they can house certain others instead? makes you wonder.....
- suzyh468 (10/5): Awesome stay - Stopped on our way home from Cornwall was g welcomed by Aimee who gave our children a little toy and interacted with them through out our stay
Hotel room was lovely a clean
Highly recommend
- 233eliseb (2/5): Terrible - Terrible, staff not helpful, cleanliness awful, found the last guests dregs in room, so we checked out early. Bed hard pillows dirty and hard, bathroom dirty, hair etc
- E8734VEmikep (2/5): Premier Inn Chain on the decline. - Dreadful. Have used Premier Inns for over 30 years, but the quality has plummeted over the past year or so. Tired rooms, bedding with holes in, poor service due to extreme understaffing. Restaurant appalling - waited for almost two hours after ordered fish and chips to be told there wasn't any. Then ordered Gammon - 15 minutes later to be told there wasn't any of that either. Single serving lady was rushed off her feet and was clearly exhausted - not her fault. Breakfast not much better. Sorry Premier Inn, you have lost another loyal customer - not the only one when I read other reviews. This could be the beginning of the end for your chain unless you do something major, and quickly too!
- davecalderwood (2/5): - Premier Inn: Much to fix.
Angry, furious, disgusted and embarrassed. That’s how I feel after trying to eat at the Brewers Fayre restaurant attached to the Premier Inn at Gloucester Business Park.
I ordered the Big Stack burger, choosing the salad option instead of the bun.
What turned up (see pic) was burnt, hard, dried out two slivers of burger, covered in a yellowy gunk that may have been cheese. One bite and a mouthful of acrid, nasty shot – spat out – later and I was out of this excuse for a restaurant.
The ‘salad’ was an assortment of chopped veg. I suspect whatever the ‘chef’, who may or may not have been a 16 year old work experience person with zero previous catering knowledge, had found in the kitchen. The dressing was a slime with zero taste.
What the hell does this company think they are doing? The hospitality sector constantly complains about problems but the real problem is itself. No training, no enthusiasm, no passion for food and good service. Just profit.
So what did I do? I simply put my knife and fork together and walked out. I was too tired after a long day to argue.
There was no other eatery within walking distance so I went to the Tesco across the road and bought some nice Somerset Brie and a whole grain roll. And a good chilled bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. All for less than the cost of the Premier Inn crap.
What about the hotel itself?
Well, the room was a decent size, modern, comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. Great… or is it just what you should expect?
The shower – part of the bath – was pretty useless with poor water pressure but at least I managed it.
The TV however was useless. The remote had hardly any effect on the TV and after 20 mins of trying to find something – anything! – I gave up.
Instead I paid £5 for the “Ultimate Wi-Fi’ which turned out to be anything but that. It was a max of 8 mbps! That was their own statement after signing up. Again, useless. I can’t even get my emails!
Then, when I shifted from my mobile phone to laptop, in an attempt to find somewhere I could watch today’s cricket, the system failed completely. They sell the wifi on the basis that 3 devices can connect. That’s completely untrue. Only the device that originally bought the wifi pass can connect, at least at this hotel.
Premier Inn: you are taking the piss! Sort out your tech, your bathrooms and most of all, your restaurants.
- 288raggy (6/5): Very very disappointing - The room was ok. I’m glad I tool my own pillows as the ones provided were very thin and not very comfortable.
The food in the restaurant opposite wasn’t very good. We payed for the meal deal when we booked it. Once we ordered our food we waited over half an hour for it to arrive and my steak was awful. I ordered it to be cooked medium and it was tough and chewy. I mentioned this to the waitress who said I’m sorry and walked away and still charged us the extra charge as stated on the menu.. the service is very slow even though there was hardly any customers.
I don’t think I will stay at a premier inn again.
- jontU4225OL (8/5): Perfectly fine Premier Inn - Perfectly fine and good Premier Inn. Good easy parking and breakfast hall is near and nice. Beds and rooms nice and clean.
- N1311MQpaulw (6/5): Ok place but new parking charges are pure greed - Have been using this hotel fairly regularly for over a year. All ok until last week when, for the first time I had to pay a £3 parking charge (described) as some sort of exclusive discount and I should be grateful. Pure greed and not made clear when booking. I'm sure Sir Lenny would have something to say.
- jilln492 (10/5): Wish I could have stayed longer. - The communication before my visit was very helpful and, never having been to Gloucester before it was easy to find and there was plenty of parking. The room was great, spacious, smart and very clean and the bed was really comfortable with good quality bed linen. I have a friend who always uses Premier Inns and now I see why.
- lindasL8674IY (6/5): Friendly staff as usual and room not as pleasant as previous visits - On checking in I was told I had to pay for parking ( stayed here lots of times) member of staff said I should have been informed prior on booking but I was not
It was a suprise but nevertheless I paid .
Staff member helpful and kind
( she was feeling very uncomfortable due to heat and had no air con on only a freestanding fan!it was very hot in reception too)
Room was not very spacious as it was a family room I think as it had a trundle bed and I had booked for two double rooms.Clean and tidy but not its usual standard as shower curtain was damp and had hair on it
Could do with a deep clean as air was stale
- jacktX6424MD (10/5): good hotel - Stay was good, very quiet hotel, staff were friendly and helpful, the room was spotless and the food was decent would definitely stay again.
- Bikerboy97 (10/5): Business trips - I’ve stayed here weekly for the last year or so now and must say I am upset to not be returning now due to a change in job position but the staff here are all welcoming and make you feel like family and the rooms are exceptionally clean!
