Guest Reviews
- Safari82411 (10/5): Early fight - Excellent hotel if you have got to get an early flight. Very welcoming and clean . Easy to park and check in . Brewers fayre next door could have been better.
- supervandad (6/5): Eat somewhere else - The hotel is great. And just what you expect from a premier inn.
Warm welcome ( thanks Pamela) and great rooms.
But I warn you. Have the breakfast from the brewers fayre next door. But stay away from the even meal. And the meal deal is not worth it.
The meals were dry and hard to swallow. The dessert 🎂 were just a con. We couldn't eat the burgers. The chips you would get better quality at Tesco own brand.
The ice cream Sundays. 75% whipped cream 1 scoop of ice cream and a few chocolate bits.
The breakfast 🥞 was perfect. I would suggest a subway across the road. It would be better value and better tasting.
- 402rayy (10/5): Well done Pamela - Pamela showed first class customer service to me , helping me out whith a problem i had. Her customer service is second to none.
- A5761LNalanw (10/5): Lovely staff. - Stayed here for work. Great location. Easy to get anywhere from here. Reception staff were all really nice. Really friendly and genuinely interested. Kirsty and Kirsten on reception were lovely to chat with. Room was cleaned well. Would stay here again if in the area.
- amandapY8577ZL (10/5): Excellent customer service - Fabulous room and excellent customer service, especially from Kirsty on Reception, definitely stay again, brilliant central location to get to surrounding towns and cities
- H3027IZleep (10/5): Really great hotel. - Really lovely hotel. Conveniently located for getting out and about. All the staff were amazing. Really made me feel welcomed. Lovely receptionists. Clean comfortable room. What more could you ask for. Would definitely recommend staying here
- joshuadM5399PF (10/5): Amazing, calm, peaceful, quiet, relaxing. - It was lovely, very clean and tidy, staff was very kind. Service amazing, parking area really good and spacious, the breakfast was perfect, complimentary water and coffee in the plus room. Traffic wasn’t bad, not far from where I needed to be. Good price for what I paid, worth every penny, it was a great atmosphere, the kids loved it, would recommend due to its friendly staff and environment. Quite quiet in the evening you can’t hear others in the other rooms absolutely amazing for peace and quiet Just not with the kids haha.
- kacio320 (10/5): Lovely hotel 10/10 - Beautiful place. The atmosphere was amazing such nice staff. It was very clean everything was done good i loved my stay. Overall my stay was enjoyable such nice comfy beds. Where I was before getting to the hotel was easy but a lot of traffic. You can’t hear any movements from the neighbours. My stay was definitely worth it for the price i paid.
- F6686BRvalentinar (4/5): Dump/ mouldy room - As with many Premier Inn experiences, I can’t say it’s worth the money. It’s fine for a basic 1–2 night stay where you only need a place to sleep, but not much more than that.
I stayed for one night and paid £72 for a family room on a Saturday. Decent, but definitely pricey for the conditions.
The bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned - there were spiders, which terrified my daughter.
The shower is only an overhead shower (no hose), which isn’t ideal if you need to wash children quickly.
The biggest issue was the smell in the room. It was incredibly strong — a damp, mouldy smell that was impossible to ignore. We only coped because we arrived late and left early, so we weren’t in the room longer than 7–8 hours. I couldn’t face breathing that in any longer. I don’t know if it’s coming from the AC vents or the walls, but something isn’t right. It also wasn’t just our room — my friend in a separate room had exactly the same problem.
Very disappointing overall.
I wouldn’t recommend staying here, and I wouldn’t book again. I doubt this is something that will be fixed quickly.
- TR4E (10/5): Fabulous stay - Very friendly, helpful and efficient reception staff. Had a small problem with my room but it was promptly sorted, even though it was a busy time for the staff.
- Michelle158 (8/5): Definitely one of the better Premier Inns! - We received a friendly welcome, and were directed to a nice, clean room. The bathroom was small and standard, but it's always nice to have the option of a bath. There was plenty of car parking space, and the food facilities close by were useful. It was also nice to be able to open the windows to get fresh air, which is sometimes not available at Premier Inns.
The room was cold on entering, however, and it would have been appreciated if the radiator had been on ready for us - though the room heated up quickly. Also, the extra pillows were not "security sealed for protection" (the tag was open), though they were clearly clean. The room was a bit noisy, due to boy racers screaming out of the petrol station at all hours, though in retrospect, we would ask for a room on the other side of the corridor if we ever stayed here again - and one at the end of the corridor, instead of being first. Also, it was appalling the number of disrespectful people in cars and vans who parked in the disabled bays. I appreciate that the car park is not managed directly by the hotel. But the hotel (or Horizon) should have the authority to slap (hard to remove) stickers on these vehicles driven by entitled, selfish people...
But all in all, we had a good stay. All the staff that we encountered were genuinely polite and friendly - credit to them all! And so, I would recommend this hotel, and be happy to return if we needed to be in the area.
- B1732TBpatriciaf (8/5): Handy for overnight when returning to UK off the Roscoff ferry - Handy for the M5 but a bit fiddly to find because it isn’t visible until you’re already entering the car park. Charge for parking. Not all Premier Inns have accessible rooms but this one has. Everywhere looked spotless.
Breakfast is served at the Brewer’s Fare (as it should be spelled!) next door and is plentiful if not cordon bleu.
- BingleyPensioner (8/5): Very Good Three Star Hotel - Exactly what you would expect from a Premier Inn. Easy to find, reasonablely clean and comfortable, with an attached restaurant. The breakfast was very good, and it was very convenient to be able to eat in the restaurant in the evening. As has been mentioned in other reviews, the car park needs work, not to mention someone to pick up the litter. The petrol station was handy as we had driven up from West Yorkshire and were at the beginning of a 12 night driving tour, so being able to quickly fill up the car before moving on was very helpful. I've taken a star off due to the state of the car park.
- Jenners020 (10/5): Comfortable, clean hotel. - Convenient location for motorway and 5 mins drive from services with fast EV chargers. Room was clean and very comfortable with bath and shower. Parking is £8.00 for 24hrs. Very quiet at night.
- T7724MBemmaw (2/5): We will never stay in a Premier Inn again! - I will never stay in a Premier in again. The fact that it was the weekend Exeter university students were moving in to their halls meant the price of the room was inflated to over double the usual rate.
We paid £180 for a room that if you book this weekend would be £71 and we were met with a dirty car park, very basic facilities, a very musty smelling room, mould in the bath and a receptionist who was totally aghast at how much we were paying. When they saw what the room cost was, they took a massive in take of breath and said "are you only staying for one night? that is SO expensive, wow, I can't believe that!" not really something you want to hear or realise that you have been completely ripped off!
Honestly, I have no more words!
- 221ianw (10/5): First Class Budget Accommodation! - Apart from the uneven and potholed car park, the hotel was first class.
Receptionist polite, efficient and courteous,in fact, she was so friendly,we chatted to her for 5 mins or so,whilst she gave us the "lowdown"on the surrounding area and attractions!
Found the rooms to be scrupulously clean, tidy,no minor faults to be noted!
At reception,we booked for our evening meal next door at the Brewers Fayre and found that a covered walkway linked them together which we were grateful for due to the rainy weather!
The hotel was easy to find off a roundabout, with a petrol station-cum-convenience store in front which was 24 hours!
Would have no qualms about staying in this "Inn"even though there were closer ones to where we wanted to go!
- H8270VNkimm (6/5): Not a pleasant experience - Upon arrival was met by a friendly receptionist but she was in conversation with a young man who was eating a McDonald's whilst standing at the reception desk. I went to my room on the first floor the room was smelly, dirty carpets, ceiling tile missing exposing pipework and the cover from the xplair in the bathroom was lying in the washbasin, I opened the window to get some fresh air into the room and discovered that the net curtain at the window didn't cover all of the window. The window was covered in bird droppings and there was a large pile of droppings on the window sill. I reported the smell, missing tile and cover to the reception and she said she would correct it. The ceiling tile was replaced and the cover put back on and they sprayed the room with air freshener which I was surprised at I thought they would have moved me but no so I had to stay in the room with the window open all night which was noisy as car park right outside window.
- GraemeFox (6/5): Hotel is fine - bar next door needs to have better opening hours! - Nice friendly welcome at check-in and room was ok - standard Premier Inn - but lack of Aircon made it a poor night’s sleep as the room was warm. Being close to the motorway ruled out leaving the window open.
But we checked in at 9pm and were told the bars closed at 10 - pretty crap seeing as we intended meeting up with family in the bar as we were all there for a nearby family wedding.
We went into the bar at 9.20 and were told the till was closing at 9.30!!
Too early and very disappointing.
- lorenw1995 (10/5): Great stay! - Great hotel, very friendly staff and quick check in. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Also had a lovely note and some jammie dodgers left in the room for us on arrival which was a lovely touch
- maximusn (10/5): very comfortable - So comfortable that my son wants to return to sleep on the bed
High-quality but affordable food at Brewer's Fayre
Definitely returning
- waynejJ4751UL (10/5): Great hotel in a great location - This premier inn was great like all the other ones we stayed in .. Great location friendly staff and beautiful room all clean and tidy just how we like it
- B5911FRtomt (10/5): 5 stars from Ireland - A group of 49 of us stayed last weekend and we had a great experience. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the food was unbelievable with the staff able to feed our large group effortlessly. The hotel was located perfectly for our needs.
- joye873 (6/5): Average - Had a standard room on the ground floor. On arrival the key card didn't work, so back to reception to be told some of the rooms on that floor take up to 5 minutes to work. Room was ok . Wifi is shocking, didn't work at all during our 2 night stay & the phone signal was poor even at the pub next door. Parking is chargeable, you get a voucher to scan, cost us £16 for our stay. Brewers fayre next door where you go for your meals is very shabby, wetherspoon standard food. Over the road is a subway, Starbucks & Domino's pizza .
- 106AlisonW (6/5): Premier Inn j29 M5 stay August Bank Holiday - I've stayed here many times but this stay was not great. The room smelled very musty. I pulled back the quilt to get into bed and there was an old blood stain on the sheet. Which i had to change myself with the help of the lady in reception who was very apologetic. The breakfast well this was a joke really. The hot food was not filled up regularly, most of the time people were waiting for this. The eggs that came out were all dried up and obviously not freshly cooked. I was given a table for 20 minutes and told they needed it back even though half of the tables were empty. I was then told oh i could keep the table as they'd had a cancellation. Overall i feel their standards have definitely slipped.
- B8920ZLpaulb (2/5): Lovely staff, noisey neighbours - Warm welcome from staff and a clean room, but ultimately a noise hotel, stamping and doors slaming through the night lead to poor sleep. Thankfully one night so just got through the night, sure staff would have swapped the room but doing so in the middle of the night when the noise was throughout would have just been more frustrating.
- nikkimH5505HK (2/5): still awaiting complaint response - filed a complaint over a week ago - no response
staff were lovely but the room was unbearably hot there was nothing they could do - we got fan and a bottle of ice cold water and i was bitten by ?bedbugs - hardly slept a wink - me or my 13 year old
- Agenceco (2/5): The worst night we experienced in this establishment during our stay in Scotland ! - While the outside temperature hadn't risen above 21°C all day, we were surprised to enter a room whose temperature exceeded 27°C. However, the window barely opened, given that our room was on the ground floor. I went to reception twice to be part of this great inconvenience. In return, we received a fan and two small bottles of cold water. As the situation became unbearable, I took the liberty of opening the emergency exit door on the landing to create a draft with the much cooler outside air. Despite the unpleasant situation, the receptionist asked me to close the door and not touch it again. Also, despite three cold showers, we were unable to sleep properly due to the temperature, which, instead of dropping, rose to 28°C during the night and into the next morning.
- williamsL3757PF (6/5): This hotel needs updating try walk in shoers - Staff were nice but needs updating shoer over bath no good for disabled asked for a disabled room with wetroom they only have one also pipes leaking fron lobby ceiling was a nightmare turning on the shower cos of bad hammer lockthis hotel
- R2645PLpauln (6/5): Premier inn Exeter M5 junction 29 - Good comfortable clean place to stay. Good location close to M5 and easy to get to. Parking expensive at £8 per 24 hrs. Wifi expensive at £5 and poor speed at times during evening.
- Camper59834048395 (10/5): Hotel is ok but would recommend breakfast - Hotel is as it should be - convenient & good value for money. Easy to check in & out. The breakfast at the pub next for was ok but both mornings we were there they had run out of mushrooms & fruit & had no intention of replenishing it . You get what you pay for I guess
- 74andih (10/5): Value for money - Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable and clean rooms, nice and quiet, food was good, easy to get to...............
- 153gilliand (4/5): Dirty Accommodation - Unpleasant experience from the start. Room smelt and not particularly clean. No seating area to sit. Nephews room had marks all over the ceiling where the air-con had leaked.
Rooms are dark and dingy.
No one on the reception desk.
Booked a breakfast next door, dinning room not nice, we were placed in the bar area with ripped seats.
Be aware you also have to pay for parking which is disgusting! Where else are you meant to park after a 6 hour car journey.
Would not recommend, very tired accommodation could do with a good clean everywhere.
Wouldn’t stay in a Premier Inn again after this experience.
- U2906YAstephaniep (10/5): Would be happy to stay here again - The room was immaculately clean, everything worked, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to stare here again.
Only very minor complaints: the parking was overpriced at £8/night, and breakfast isn't served until 7am, which was too late for me, but I know I'm unusual in that.
- 672katrinat (10/5): Fully satisfied:) - Premier Inn, Exeter – One-night work stay
I stayed here for one night while on a work trip and had a lovely experience. I was greeted by a young lady with stunning emerald green hair—sorry I didn’t catch her name, but she was so polite and helpful. Thanks to her, my stay started off on a really positive note.
The room was clean and comfortable, with excellent climate control that kept things perfectly warm and cool. Breakfast was delicious, and at just £10, it was great value.
Thank you!
- chrisemoe (10/5): Recent stays at premier inn North - Booked for one night, family room . Very spacious, clean and the bed is very comfy. We had breakfast which was buffet style , good choice and £10 for all you can eat is worth the money to fill up for the day. Food was warm and cooked well, basic full breakfast items and plenty of cereal, toast, pastries.
I have stayed here a few times this year due to my son's rugby and the staff on reception are fantastic, very welcoming and happy to help in any way they can.
This stay was the first I booked breakfast and the gentleman in the restaurant was also welcoming and helpful.
Good location and nice views of the mountains, ideal for just out of Falkirk centre and direct access to motorway.
- stevef862 (8/5): Premier Inn delivers a good experience again - The Premier Inn Falkirk North is pretty much on a roundabout of a busy road and behind a BP garage, but don't let that put you off. It is quiet enough there and once inside, you don't hear any traffic.
We only stayed a night as part of trip to Scotland and were heading much further north afterwards. Service was good and the room was absolutely fine. Bed was comfortable as always and there are spare pillows.
We asked to borrow an iron and ironing board and one was brought to our room within 15 minutes.
We didn't eat breakfast there as we had to head off early.
- Happylady21 (10/5): Fabulous welcome - Well situated and easy to find for Edinburgh airport . Loads of parking. Room comfy . Initially we didn’t have hot water due to some workmen not turning the water back on . We mentioned it to the receptionist who bent over backwards to solve the problem . We went for a meal and when we got back everything was sorted . We had room 123 which was very quiet . We couldn’t hear the road at all. The food in the brewers next door was average . We will stay here again . Thx Premier Inn and the lovely receptionist .
- Z6719SVadamp (10/5): Fantastic hotel, even better staff - The perfect hotel and great location for work. Restaurant next door with great food and great service. The staff are amazing, especially kirsten who will go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. All the staff are super friendly . Couldn't recommend anymore than I have. I've enjoyed staying here and look forward to my next visit
- Q5348NRkirstenm (10/5): Fantastic stay - Fantastic hotel, clean, comfortable and quiet considering it is next to a petrol station and motorway. Staff were super friendly and informative on things to do nearby. Nothing was too much for them. Highly recommended and can't wait to stay again
