• Tourist67936501935 (10/5): Clean and comfortable! - We have just returned from a 2 night stay - we found the room to be spotlessly clean and the bed lovely and comfortable. All the staff are frendly and helpful. We had a lovely meal in the Beefeater restaurant and the breakfast was good with plenty of variety. We used the car park next to the hotel which was easy to use and the city centre is only a few minutes walk away. This is one of the nicest Premiers we've stayed in as a few others we've stayed in lacked enough staff and were a little shabby.
• 433manjitm (10/5): Jasmine - exceptional customer service - This review is mostly for Jasmine, bless her she managed a exceptionally busy dinner service it seemed alone. I witnessed that they were short falls of food items not in stock, and she let all the customers know prior. Some were rude and yet she was composed and polite. She deserves clear recognition for her service! Im not sure if thats the usual process for one member of staff to run the whole show but your lucky it was her.
• paulgT4682ZH (10/5): Jasmine was absolutely amazing. - I’m staying at the Premier Inn in Grimsby on business expecting a pretty standard meal, and instead ended up genuinely impressed. The place was fairly busy, and there was just one waitress called Jasmine holding the whole thing together — and honestly, she was brilliant. She had that calm, collected way about her, where you can tell she’s juggling a dozen things in her head but still manages a smile when she gets to your table. Drinks came quickly, food arrived exactly as ordered, and she somehow kept checking in at just the right moments without hovering. It’s the kind of service that makes you think, alright, someone here really cares about doing the job properly. You could see guests warming to her, and there was this general sense of yeah, we’re all in good hands.” Considering she was running the floor on her own yes on her own the whole evening felt smoother than some places with twice the staff. Management needs to read this: look after her. Make sure she gets this review. I just wish there were more people like Jasmine in this world and at other Premier Inns
• 948robertah (10/5): What more could you ask for. - Stayed in 3 Premier Inns this week and this one turned out to be the best! In need of refurbishment but the staff more than made up for the lack of facilities. From reception, through the restaurant to the handyman all staff members where friendly, professional and courteous which was truly appreciated.

• rjpontour (2/5): Rude staff who inflame their own error - We booked two rooms for three adults. Upon arrival we were informed the booking was three rooms. We advised we would only need two rooms. The check in clerk was unhelpful from the start and we were told to pay for the three rooms or go but if we went they would bill us anyway and they are unable to cancel a room even if its due to a system error before you stay I advised her out of principle we will stay elsewhere I booked the holiday Inn there and then which she heard me do. Upon arriving at the holiday Inn we were told she had telephoned them to say we were drunk and aggressive and had shared my name, a GDPR violation and they had cancelled the booking on their system. After a quick chat the staff there concluded for themselves we were not drunk nor aggressive and reinstated the booking. I was assertive with her yes, but did not swear nor do anything other than demand some customer service. Whatever happened to 'I'm sorry about that let's get this resolved for you'. Totally unsuited to a customer facing role. I have a £3000 group booking at another branch for a charity event we are running...this will be cancelled first thing Monday and legal action will.follow for recovery of monies and a claim.for GDPR violation. Avoid!

• Stormcrow (10/5): Stacie the Star - My wife and I had never used this particular Premier Inn before, but as we were going to see a show at the Grimsby Auditorium, this Hotel being only 7 minutes drive away was ideal. Situated in a good location, with ample parking, we made our way to the Reception, where we were met by two members of the staff, the receptionist was polite, efficient and welcoming towards us. We had to eat as early as possible, and voiced our concerns to the two ladies, and the waitress, who we now know as Stacie, stated if we chose our menu, and let her know, she would pass it on to the kitchen staff. When we went into the restaurant, Stacie was behind the bar, and on recognising us, took us straight to a table, and within 10 mibutes or so of being there, are meals were served by Stacie. It was brilliant, and took the pressure of time off us. No complaints with the meals, cooked and exactly as we had ordered. We enjoyed our one night there, and the bed was very comfortable, the room, clean and tidy. We did think the two ladies, Receptionist and Stacie were really nice, and if this is how they treat all their customers, then I recommend that Premier Inns hang onto them, as they are the face of the company. So a big thankyou to you both.
• Road48340013631 (10/5): Excellent choice for a town centre getaway - Great stay at the premier inn a very good location and the parking was easy to book and very convenient the room was spacious clean and comfortable we had breakfast that was cooked to order rather than out on a buffet I found it much better and good value
• Y4180HRleanner (10/5): Highly recommend this hotel - I have been using Premier Inn Guildford for past 6 years since moving away. I always come back to visit friends and this is the only hotel I will use in the Surrey area. The staff are so friendly and helpful every single visit, they go above and beyond to make sure everything is catered for. Rooms are always big and clean. Great location with a 10/15 min walk into town centre. Will continue to stay at this hotel in my next upcoming trips.
• 587edelm (10/5): On business geart - This is a great wee hotel, I'm over on business most weeks and the staff look after me. Sonia in an assist to the hotel, extremely professional.
• Nash-Yorkshire (2/5): Unprofessional breakfast lady - Lady at the breakfast this morning refused to allow me on a table and kept asking to provide her a receipt to prove I have paid for it. Told her twice that the room was booked with breakfast inclusive and I didn't pay for breakfast separately. Instead of contacting reception to see what was going on, she made me feel I was lying and she was so loud that everyone in the breakfast lobby was listening. During all this time, she didn't bother to ask for my name once. She told me to go back to reception. She made me embarrassed and feel i was lying. I told her my room was changed after initial booking and that may have caused the problem. This is when she finally bothered to ask my name and allowed on a table. But by then she had almost accused me of trying to eat their breakfast for free and she made sure that everyone in the hall listened what she was saying so loud. Very unprofessional, no courtesy and absolutely not welcoming. I travel quite a lot for work and often stay in hotels especially holiday inn and Premier Inn but never came across such a low mannered staff. She definitely needs more training as she wasn't trained enough to complete checks professionally and in a polite way. The breakfast was not bad and other reception staff were good and helpful.
• CLC1000 (6/5): Comfortable beds, great location but restaurant let it down. - Hotel is in a great location for the town centre with a good car park next door. Room was nice enough and bed comfortable. Staff were very friendly and hard working. 2 things let down this stay: 1. Our allocated room hadn’t been cleaned with bedsheets on the floor and rubbish all over. Had to go back to reception and get another room. 2. Beefeater restaurant. Tried to eat here on the evening but were told 2 big groups had arrived and food would be 30-45 mins. We were on a tight schedule so went elsewhere. Breakfast wasn’t the greatest experience. We were asked to book at table ahead which we did but it was so busy. Hot breakfast is cooked to order and we were waiting about 30 minutes for it. The coffee machine was broken and the queue for the continental section was long. If the items could be rearranged it would help as the queue was due to people waiting for toast. Food was ok.
• 148maggim (6/5): Definitely not the room I booked. - Being disabled I booked, online, an accessible room with wet room for 3 nights. I was not impressed when I arrived to find that my booking had been changed to a single room on the first floor. My wheelchair does a lot of things but climb stairs it does not. Full credit to Janine for her amazing help in getting me a ground floor room at such short notice. The room was not ideal, bath not wet room, no grab rails, bed was way to high, and not enough room to manoeuvre my wheelchair but the staff were amazing, couldn’t have been more helpful. Many, many thanks to them for saving my stay.

It was fine for an overnight stay, but definitely missed the homely touches and unique interiors you get with a boutique hotel.

Great location next to excellent bus station and easy stroll to main shopping area. Usual high quality PI. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Appeared to enjoy working there. We had to floor corner room 515 which was very roomy with great view. Second corner room we have had and will try again next time. Breakfast is cooked to order rather than usual self service. It was excellent. One of best we have had in a PI and we have had many. Special shout out to our server Samantha who was efficient and cheery. Great way to start the day! Highly recommend restaurant a minutes walk across the road. Ricci's Place great place to dine. Food excellent and good price. Best to book. Also visit Bankside museum. Fantastic military exhibits. Fashion exhibitions upstairs is a must see especially Gentleman Jack.costumes. Catch 22 bus at bus station and only 3 stops. You can walk back down the hill to town in 10 minutes!

• 885PeterR (10/5): A centrally located venue for a family reunion - We had a family reunion in Halifax since we (me and six siblings) all attended school in the area in the 1950s and 60s and Halifax is also fairly centrally located in the UK, more or less midway between north-east Scotland and south-west England, the farthest-flung localities where members live. Not perhaps easy to access by car when there are problems on the roads but equally inconvenient for everyone so no complaints. The hotel is centrally located in the town, car parking is convenient and the staff were EXTREMELY helpful and very friendly. We cannot commend them highly enough. We stayed for four nights and would happily stay again.
• PeterLink (6/5): Modern check-in but no USB charging - I am not keen on the self check-in but it went OK, just wondering if there is any staff on site, couldn't tell. There is no USB charging socket in the room. TV seems cheap and remote not very responsive.
• Seaside33268515001 (6/5): Grimsby Without Fish & Chips = Grim. - Grimsby is synonymous with fish, and has the National Fishing Heritage Centre. But we couldn't get Fish & Chips at the Premier Inn because the fat fryer was broken and awaiting replacement! Room prices varied dramatically from £50 our first night to £150 for the third night. Friendly, but overworked, staff. Ample parking, even for our motorhome (going for repairs nearby).
• johnsE7756NO (10/5): Very Good Experience. - Excellent stop off. After a nine hour journey I needed a refreshing shower and it didn't disappoint. Decent room with heaters that were easily adjustable. The attached restaurant was lovely and was open until 10pm. The food was ok but Janine who served us was a breath of fresh air. What a lovely lady. Went out of her way to make us feel welcome.
• dominiclD5274TO (4/5): Not the best visit to a Premier Inn - Always an easy check in at this hotel easy to follow instructions and receive my room card however that’s where the positives stop, booked in on the first floor and the corridor smells like a wet sports changing room, located my room and the size was good and Facilities’s ok however the bed mattress was also terrible maybe they have sold all of their sleep quality ones online, breakfast in the morning was nice but overall stay was dampened by the horrendous smell

• Janet (4/5): - I thought the place was somewhat old and tired looking. Was not clean as other hotels i have stayed in. The staff were excellent though.
• 332valerief (2/5): Two day and night break with relatives ruined. - Our trip, three sisters and our husbands, was ruined. We had especially booked to meet at the PI Halifax since it had a wet room with accessibility for someone in a wheel chair. However on arrival, it was not available, my relatives had not been forewarned and meant that they were seriously inconvenienced and only stayed one night. The Receptionist was not apologetic and made no effort to find alternative accommodation. She certainly needs to have training on how to deal with issues.

The room was not the cleanest, bathroom & around the bed needed more thorough clean. Very noisy hotel. Not enough towles & pillows. Or refreshmemts. Bathroom condiments also lacking & tipped up with water. Very disappointing.

• 576deanp (10/5): Visiting family. - We stayed here for four days all the way from Bolton to see elderly members of the family. Can I just say how amazing all the staff were with us knowing that we had three family members of which were very elderly. We had evening meals every night of which we enjoyed, and Matt was brilliant.
• Dinnerboys (8/5): Good breakfast and friendly service - Amazing service from Vicki B for Breakfast. Now Premier Inn have taken over the pub/restaurant it's noticeable how fewer staff are serving customers. This leaves servers such as Vicki having to manage a busy restaurant on her own

Also those we had were glass and no good around small children. Only one seat in a family room was not good. Otherwise comfort was fine

The wet room had become available when we checked in, so the receptionist changed the booking, so we were in the same room throughout the stay with a wet room

• 949mauricer (10/5): Perfect base for exploring NT properties - This hotel was perfect for our visits to nearby National Trust properties. Our overnight stay was very comfortable - the room and ensuite were clean, well-maintained and cozy. The members of staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, offering detailed advice and recommendations on where to eat, how to get to the town centre and which sights were worth visiting. We had a wonderful time and are already looking forward to returning.

Plenty of parking and a beefeater right next door.

Hottest day of the year, we were cool as cucumbers. As a birthday treat for my husband we had treats in the room. A really special touch by a friendly team. My only downturn was the service in the beefeater which was by no means the hotels fault. Loved our stay. Be back in September and a massive shout out to Dory and team. They are your amazing assets. She booked me and arranged a table at the restaurant next door. The room and bathroom was very clean. The restaurant menu on the desk to Peru with a cup of coffee before heading down to eat. I had a good night sleep in the comfortable bed ready for the day ahead. I would definitely stay there again.

After I realised that I had forgotten my phone charging lead and my phone was dead she lent me one! Amazing service. Thanks so much. I think her name was Claire but I was a little tipsy after returning from the IOW Festival so apologies if I have your name wrong. Slept for 10 hours straight on extremely comfy mattress. Needed it after a festival. Lovely shower this morning so I feel like a girl again.

Despite a very warm welcome from reception, we could immediately tell this Premier Inn was tired. Our room was standard PI, but somehow it felt dirty and dingy with dirty net curtains. Bed was clean but pillows were like rocks. The water didn't drain from the sink which was annoying us trying to use between two people getting ready. This PI is on a dual carriage way and so expect heavy traffic noise if you need your window open when the room get stuffy. Bring earplugs. The bar was quite a shock with the smell of dirty carpets and upholstery. Filty chairs and it all needs to be professionally cleaned. We had to sit outside due to the smell. The famous Premier Inn breakfast was also a big disappointment with rubber fried eggs cooked with no care at all, dried up mushrooms which I was told 'were fresh out of the oven', tomatoes not cooked enough so they were hard and bacon cooked in a lump so it was difficult to separate and self serve. The male chef was surley and the female waitress looked very unhappy. We only ate there once in a 3 night stay and we drank elsewhere, too. We wouldn't stay here again and we wouldn't recommend this Premier Inn unfortunately, not unless it all undergoes a good clean and a chef who takes pride in the breakfasts.
