Guest Reviews
- 26suep (10/5): Great place - Another pre cruise stay staff are always very helpful room recently refurbished and I won the raffle for their chosen charity Great Ormond street hospital. Special mention to the young man in the dining room who rushed around getting everyone sorted even if it’s really busy he always smiles and has time to interact with the customers. Looking forward to staying here again in the near future.
- angelinak519 (10/5): Fantastic place to relax and transport extremely handy to all over Glasgow and south lanakshire - Location is perfect for gigs in Glasgow local train and bus routes . Staff very welcoming and present building to relax in the pub a Ross is extremely handy food great . Rooms are spotless and just nicely sized with everything we needed staff on hand to help any way possible and always a with a smile .
- avroramorgenstern (4/5): Disgusting molded bathrooms, rude staff, noisy train station, convenient location in a sketchy area - Location is convenient if you need something close to the train station.
The front desk staff is incompetent and rude. The worst experience. Zero alignment and understanding of internal regulations on the front desk level. Total inability to communicate in a professional friendly manner, zero problem solving mindset and complete absence of basic communication skills. Bathrooms are disgusting filled with mold and bathtubs clogged with hair and slime. Trains outside are loud and if you have kids or not used to sleeping in a noisy environment - good luck falling asleep. We had to close the window, it was too hot and still loud. The area is sketchy.
Definitely not worth the money spent.
- Bagpuss1957 (10/5): Nice hotel. Breakfast needs improving - Lovely hotel rooms look as if they have been recently redecorated they are very clean and well presented. Comfy beds and pillows. We had an evening meal that was really nice well cooked and well presented. The breakfast was a different story this was really poor many items were missing off the cold buffet and the hot breakfast was not hot at all items that we asked for were missing off the plate this spoiler a great hotel.
- lisa (10/5): - We were here the night before a cruise. Other hotels near cruise port were double the price. This was still convenient and much less expensive. Clean and nice. Friendly staff.
- barryfK3896RJ (10/5): Excellent accommodation - Great location, great staff all went above & beyond, spotlessly clean & comfortable, everything you need in the room for a stay.
- Chrispascoe (10/5): Most helpful and friendly - This is a lovely hotel - clean, tidy, good food/drink and very friendly and helpful staff. I particularly want to mention Hannah, one of the housekeeping staff, who went above and beyond to find my phone, which I had foolishly left behind when we checked out. She was only too happy to go back to our room to find the phone in record time. Thank you Hannah and everyone!
- lucykP7595DV (10/5): Brilliant hotel lovely staff - Brilliant location, easy to get to. The staff were super friendly and lovely and the hotel was clean and well kept. There were also Halloween decorations up and a book share! Would highly recommend
- 34linseys (6/5): Couples City Break - Four nights stay . Hotel in good location right next to main station. We were on the 5th floor room quiet and clean. Downside - you have to request room cleaning daily, unfortunately even though we requested this in the morning, on our return we found it hadn’t been cleaned we had to go down reception to request clean towels. The same can be said for tea/coffee tray it was not replenished daily. Bar staff very helpful.
- shycroftdome (10/5): Friendly staff. - Friendly staff who made sure that our stay was the best it could possibly be. Good value and conveniently located for easy access from M74.
- Passport24176961103 (8/5): Rooms very comfortable and clean, breakfast needs improvement - Stay was comfortable. Received a very warm welcome at reception. We do enjoy staying at the premier inn when you can get a good one. Unfortunately the hot breakfast was very poor. Having been a chef myself before, the hot breakfast needs a lot of improvement.
- B9893ALandyl (10/5): Overnight stay - We booked last minute and went to book online, but we phoned the hotel and got a better deal. On arrival, the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was very clean. Bed was comfortable. We had breakfast in the morning, which was good.
Checked out at ten .
- W7682NJalanc (8/5): Overnight stay - Eastleigh, hood welcoming atmosphere, room was clean and fresh. I forgot my toothbrush but they don’t do them anymore, good idea to have a small stock on site to purchase.
- A3776YWianw (10/5): Another good stay at premier Inn Eastleigh - We have stayed here before and always get a warm welcome. Pat always goes out of her way to help. We're back next month and know that our stay will be always be a good one
- nickdJ7967TA (10/5): Fantastic experience and hotel - This hotel has just recently been refurbished, the rooms are very spacious, clean, and equipped. Great experience at the hotel here. The hotel team and restaurant staff are very friendly and accommodating. We couldn't ask for more, exceptional service at Premier Inn Southampton Eastleigh.
- K3302TIstephenm (6/5): Nice room, restaurant lets it down - We arrived at about 5pm to stay one night before joining a cruise. On arrival we asked to book to eat in the restaurant but were told the earliest they could do was 8pm. This was later than we wanted but we accepted it. We didn’t try to book for breakfast as the people before us were only offered 10am which was too late for us.
We had a Premier Plus room which was on the top floor and really nice.
At 8pm we went to the restaurant only to be told the cooking facilities had broken and they could not serve any food. We asked about other options nearby and we told the only place within walking distance is an Indian restaurant. Not fancying that and not wanting to take the car out of the nearly full car park we ordered a pizza delivery.
The manager found us as we were going back to the room and apologised about the kitchen situation. She offered us a complimentary breakfast to compensate which we accepted, and now we could go at a time of our choosing.
The breakfast was about average for a hotel. The ‘hot’ food which was served from the kitchen rather than buffet style was a mixture of warm and lukewarm food.
When we left getting back to the M3 which is next to the hotel seemed convoluted and took ages due to the traffic lights. Maybe there is a better way, we were just following the satnav.
Overall nice room, restaurant lets it down.
- Connector784753 (10/5): Off on a cruise - Easy access from motorway to hotel, rooms quiet, premier plus room worth the extra, shower a bit weak, dinner and breakfast great, parking was ample
- X2391JDrachell (10/5): Great one night stopover - Great overnight stay to break the journey to a car show at Beaulieu. Lovely comfortable, clean room, great hot water for a deep soak in the bath. Booked the dinner and breakfast meal deal, which was great value for money, and good service. Ideally located, with really friendly and helpful staff. Nothing to fault at all.
- PsarahE (8/5): Night before cruise! - Stayed a night before a cruise.
Great location before heading to cruise terminal.
Clean room, busy but friendly check in.
Had to book a time for breakfast which we had never done before.
Overall, a pleasant stay
- lizf2019 (8/5): Great for a cruise stay - As a stopover to Southampton heading for a cruise this place is ideal. 6 miles from the docks and just off the motorway. The upgraded premier plus rooms are spacious and well equipped. Comfy beds and a great nights sleep.
Avoid the dining room, evening meal was the worse we’ve had in a long time. Breakfast was a slight improvement.
- Q3165VRmariew (10/5): Highly recommend. Great service. - Very clean. Helpful staff. Help carrying luggage and she changed my room from upstairs when she found out I had an injury. Another receptionist helped me jump start my car, after I'd left my lights on over night. Very good restaurant The Harvester. I had a lovely breakfast and dinner there. Really enjoyed my stay. Great people.
- Debthefoodie (2/5): Could do better - We arrived a little earlier than our check in time. There was no one at reception. After around 7 minutes, a woman arrived. Did not say “good afternoon l” did not apologise for the wait, did not smile.
We stayed we knew we were a little early but wondered if our room was ready. “Not unless you pay” she snapped, again no smile, just a terse expression. She dud not ask our names or attempt to ascertain if our room had been serviced. Nor did she offer to store our overnight bag
So we left & returned after the appointed time. A different receptionist greeted us. We told him about the less than welcome experience of 2 hours previously and he stated that he knew who that was & they had received previous complaints.
Our room was perfectly pleasant.
We had paid for dinner & breakfast in advance. Oh dear. It took nearly 20 minutes for our order to be taken. My husband’s meal had 2 items missing from the plate.
Breakfast wasn’t much better. Half an our after start of service, bread, pasties & juice was still missing.
Bacon was barely cooked and one of the orders was wrong. It wasn’t pleasant experience.
- margaretbB303PY (10/5): good position, and friendly staff. - lovely stay at this premier Inn, even though its on the road, could not hear the traffic, very friendly staff, would use it again.
- J3184KZdebbies (8/5): Comfortable room but strange smell. - We had an overnight stay here on the way to purchase kayaks in Bournemouth.
We normally book a Premier Plus room but they were sold out. However, the room we stayed in (111) was a nice big room. The bed wasn't as big as we're used to but it was very comfortable and we slept well. The shower was over the bath and had a rainhead and a normal shower. Pressure was good.
The air con was going full blast when we entered the room so it was really cold. We turned it off but there still seemed to be cool air coming through the vent in the wall.
There was a very strange smell in the room. I've always thought the rooms smell a little odd, but this was quite strong. We couldn't work out whether the previous occupants had smoked or whether it's some strange air freshener that's used, but it's not particularly pleasant. When we got home and unpacked, all our clothes smelt, so everything was washed, even things we hadn't worn!
We ate in the restaurant in the evening (very average) but the breakfast was good.
The staff were fine, but nobody stood out as particularly friendly or cheerful, other than one young man who we met on the stairs who asked us what we were doing that day and was very pleasant and chatty.
It was good value for a one night stopover, and other than the odd smell, everything was fine.
- T1539GAwaynem (2/5): Stopped doing boiled eggs the next day - Why is it you advertise on your breakfast menu boiled eggs. But then refuse to do them? Did them yesterday and today they refuse to do them. Poor service in my view.
- amyclare95 (8/5): Would stay again - This was a far better experience than our previous trip to a Premier Inn (Farnham). We had a £40 compensation voucher from that visit (genuinely the worst hotel visit ever. I'd never normally ask for compensation) and used it for our stay at this one.
The Premier Plus room we booked was nice. Decent shower (and I'm pleased it had a detachable head as I don't like getting my hair wet if I'm not washing it), although the drain needed unblocking as the tray started to fill up and you were left standing in the full tray of water by the end. We did let reception know at the end of our visit so hopefully it was rectified. Bottles of still and sparkling water in the fridge. Windows you can actually open. Comfy bed. No sachets of instant coffee as there was a machine (my husband likes machine coffee but I'm not so keen), although they do have refills in reception so you can go and get some if needed. Air con actually worked.
We had dinner in the restaurant. My first choice wasn't available which was a shame. I would like to point out that almost every time I go somewhere they don't have my first option (maybe I'm cursed?) I just think places tend to underestimate the amount of vegetarian/vegan options they need to stock. I had the plant burger instead and it was okay. Not sure about the vegan coleslaw. I probably could have asked for normal to be fair. My husband had a steak and enjoyed it. Decent range of options available.
Breakfast the next morning was tasty and they did have the veggie sausages which I was pleasantly surprised by (you never quite know what you're going to get). We were waiting 25 minutes for someone to take our order though which wasn't ideal. Wouldn't have been so bad if we wanted any of the continental bits but we didn't. As I say, the food itself was good.
Overall, it was a pretty good visit. Would stay again.
- pspr0g (6/5): Loud railway air horns at 3am! - Just spent 3 nights here. The location is great, literally a 2 minute walk from the station.
The main issue was the random incredibly loud air horn type sounds emanating from trains at the station throughout the night. If you're a light sleeper they will definitely wake you up, and you're on your edge waiting for the next one. My room was facing the station so I guess it's quieter on the other side.
Room was largely fine. Two USB sockets by the bed, large TV, rainfall shower, aircon.
There's a large patio door sized window that didn't close properly (handle does not turn so no way to lock it shut).
Also, I had to have over my passport when checking in, but I'd already checked in via the app and entered the details there. Also, a male someone knocked on the door and barged at 10.30am on checkout day. Assuming housekeeping but check out isn't until midday...
So it's ok and the price was good for Gamescom week, just beware those airhorn noises at 3am!
- Road37890542962 (10/5): Fantastic Stay! - Booked room at short notice due to a letdown of another hotel. Stayed in room 301 and 10/10 would recommend! Offered Baylis and Harding hand wash and body wash to use during stay. Beds clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
- F9462TPraymonds (10/5): Excellent customer services - Welcoming and friendly staff. Leanne the supervisor took me under her wings and met all my need my short one week stay. A big thank you to the rest of the team.
- Connector787738 (10/5): Excellent staff and clean, spacious room - The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable stay especially Athena who was so lovely to my daughter who was celebrating her birthday. The rooms were also spacious and very clean with comfortable beds.
- William (8/5): Nice stay - Nice hotel , rooms nice and they have airco
- Essexnorth (10/5): Great Service - We had exceptional service. Craig went out his way to be kind and helpful to my disabled mother - carried bags and helped to room. Thank you
- colinburns40 (10/5): Great hotel - The hotel was lovely, as we're the staff.
The staff were so friendly and helped us with transport times to Hamden.
We will go back there!
- rajpalb2019 (8/5): Hotel at the city centre with great location - Hotel located the central location 2 min walk to the main station and lots of options available around it. Although rooms are equipped with minimal things, good breakfast in the morning. Overall I had a good time in the hotel. Recommend for the business travel.
- Ting2mm (8/5): For the Location, I would still stay with them - The location is quite near the hauptbahnhof which was our first priority in choosing the hotel. Second consideration is the price, it was lower than the 2 hotels next to it. We appreciate that we were allowed to check in before check in time. Having come from a total of 22 hour travel, we were able to crash and sleep for a few hours before going to a dinner meeting. We were booked 6 days, ate breakfast there for 4 days. Breakfast was exactly the same everyday. The lobby was nice with sofas and tables forming small groups. You can have short meet ups in the lobby if you're on business. No free water in the room, no minibar but there's a vending machine by the elevator. The bathroom partition was weird. I found it messy because of the wet floor. Toilet paper was hard and rough. No bidet but I think all hotels in Germany have no bidets.
The hotel is near the police station too with a taxi stand in front. And next to the police station is a great resto called the Block House.
Disliked · The movable/moving bathroom partition and boring breakfast.
- venierisa (2/5): Expensive hotel for cheap services - Expensive hotel for very cheap and low quality services. No cleaning of the room, no refrigerator to put a bottle of water or a fruit in it. Very basic breakfast. If you want to order something there is no phone in the room, you have to visit the restaurant and make in person the order!!!We don't recommend it at all. Very polite receptionists but that is not enough
- charlottebP1959OE (10/5): Comfortable stop over. - Stopover on very long journey north. We have stayed here before so decided to use the same hotel again. Room was as you would expect from a Premier Inn. It was clean and bedding was cosy and comfortable. Staff were friendly and check in was easy. Would definitely use this hotel again.
- X4450OPandrewl (10/5): Good clean hotel as good as it can be very well priced well presented bedrooms are kept very clean staff - Would recommend this hotel anytime it’s kept really clean nice location very quiet, bedroom well presented bedrooms are is very comfortable bathrooms are spotless there’s a harvester 10 metres away if you need to eat etc would stay again a very well maintained hotel inside and outside many thanks
- J8958WXcatherinet (10/5): Relaxing stay, great value. - Clean quiet room, with comfortable bed. Reception staff and Manager friendly and helpful. Parking always available and the Harvester next to the hotel provided good quality meals, with excellent friendly service. All in all a great stay and excellent value for money.
- Z9760OBjamesm (8/5): Very good - slight Easter differences at Duss Premier Inns - Would have been 5/5, but the City Centre Premier Inn surprised customers with a chocolate Easter gift outside their door (other relatives were at this hotel). They also had some small Easter eggs at breakfast. I repaired the bathroom pedal bin. One of the curtain fastenings has undone. Rainfall shower head (not used) probably needs a descale.
- gaye_mayger (10/5): Simply the Best - We stayed here on April 1st and 2nd 2025. We can highly recommend this Premier Inn, it is in a great location, close to the Hauptbahnhof and various means of seeing this lovely city.
We were made very welcome here, check-in was very speedy, the room was great, we booked a Premier Plus room, excellent! The lobby, bar and restaurant area were very cosy and welcoming. Anja served our drinks with a constant smile, her personality was warm and friendly at all times with all the customers. We look forward to returning again!
Well done, have visited many Premier Inns over the years but this one takes top prize!! Best wishes,
Gaye(Mayger) and John (Brazier)
- GrandTour42215808623 (10/5): Great service - Staff were very friendly and attentive from the get go and even when we were checking out. Asked to make sure we had a good stay and experience. The room was lovely, very spacious and lots of facilities to use- such as kettle for tea and coffees. The room was very clean aswell.
- S3130CCjulieb (2/5): Falsely advertised as no working/activated air conditioning - This is the second time I have stayed in this hotel. There was an issue with the room air conditioning on my last stay so I emailed before staying again and was told any issues were now rectified.
My first room had no working air conditioning so I moved room. Still the same problem. They do not activate the air conditioning in the rooms resulting in my room becoming too warm to sleep. As the hotel is next to the central train station it is too noisy to leave the window open.
Every day I informed the staff I had a night of no/very little sleep and they kept saying the air conditioning would be activated by the time I returned in the evening. It was false promises and I could not move hotels due to availability as there was a large exhibition taking place in Düsseldorf.
I stay in Premier Inns across the world and this is the only one I have encountered a problem. The staff were unhelpful and gave false promises daily. The Premier Inn good night guarantee sleep is rubbish as I had 5 nights of no/little sleep with no resolution or compensation.
- 368laurinep (10/5): Peel park East Kilbride great hotel - Carol was one of the friendliest receptionists I’ve ever encountered, she was very friendly and a great asset to your company ……………………………….. ……… ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. ………………………………………………………………………………..
- kelly2lands (10/5): A nice warm welcome - Tracey on reception was amazing! A great warm welcome which made check in after a long journey all that much easier! Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, nice and clean, excellent staff and right next to the Harvester so easy for lunch and dinner
- Go315675 (10/5): Lovely hotel with great staff! - What a fantastic stay at the premier inn, Peel Park. Tracey the manager was fantastic and so helpful! Room was clean and had all the amenities! Bed and pillows are so comfortable! Will be back and would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the East Kilbride area!
- Y6883RDamandal (10/5): Amazing stay - The staff are amazing, and the girl at reception called Tracey was so helpful and kind would highly recommend staying at this hotel if you’re coming to stay at East Kilbride. The beds are so comfortable the room is spacious. Plenty of space to get ready for a night out.
- asyl2025 (10/5): Excellent stay - The overall experience was great. The receptionist was really friendly and patient with me, the room was neat including the bathroom. The mattress was super comfy mattress. I liked the table and chair which made it easier for me to finish off my work.
- 780hayleighd (10/5): Great Hotel - The hotel was super clean. The receptionist Carol was great and super helpful. She even gave my children some biscuits. Had no issue and loved our stay. Was close to the shopping centre and railway station into Glasgow. When checking out we were asked if everything was good during our stay. Even passing the housekeeping in corridors were cheerful. Will stay again
- paulbO1418VE (10/5): Very good as always! - I stayed here recently whilst working in the area and almost always chose a Premier Inn. This particular one was very close to where I was working so was ideal.
I checked in around 6pm to room 122 and when I got in there the room was just 11 degrees. The heater wasn’t working so I went back to reception and they gave me an oil filled radiator. I left this on full whilst I went out to eat and upon my return the room was still just 15 degrees.
Went back to reception and was without moved to room 16 which was fine.
Thanks for your help to the lovely lady on reception that night.
- AlbyOneGC (4/5): Premier Inn has changed. Sad - I've stayed at many Premier Inns before and never complained. This one left me disappointed.
Firstly, reception staff were efficient and delightful.
The room is as I expected, clean, comfortable bed, good-sized, everything worked.
Now the problems.
There was no housekeeping for my entire 3 night stay. No replenishing of tea and coffee, etc, no emptying of bins, no change of towels.
When I went to ask about getting a new towel, I noticed there was no phone in the room. I had to go to reception to get one. This wasn't an issue. I was given one immediately. However, to me, this is a serious health and safety problem. If a person falls over or is sick, they need to be able to contact reception urgently. Guests don't always have access to a mobile phone.
Finally, there is an issue with the electrical outlets near the bed. For some reason, you can't plug anything into them (photo attached). They seem to have been blocked. There is a USB port, which is half useful, but there needs to be more.
It's a shame their management are cutting back on basic services (staff) because Premier Inn used to be so much better. Hopefully, they'll realise their mistake.
- netty26 (10/5): Fabulous - Super friendly check in with Chantelle.
I had managed to book another room for the next day by accident but thankfully Chantelle told me so I could amend my
booking.
Tracy the manager really has the best staff members here. Always so friendly and helpful. We would never stay anywhere else whilst visiting East Kilbride.
Thanks again x
- craigsharp69 (2/5): Power trip - I have used Premiers Inns in the UK for family and business trips for years but after my experience in this hotel in Dusseldorf I will look to use other hotels.
After asking the bar staff a simple question the hotel manager intervened and raised his voice telling us he was sick of us coming in and taking over. This was my 1st time meeting him but my colleagues said they chatted with him the previous evening and he was fine so we were not sure what his comment meant.
Twice he was asked by my colleague who has worked in the hospitality sector for 20yrs why are you raising your voice.
We were not aware he was the manager so asked if we could talk to his manager. Again he answered in a raised voice and told us he was the manager and he would show us what he will do.
We took our drinks back to our partners who were sitting next the reception and tried to enjoy our evening, He stormed past us to the reception and slammed the door's behind him.
Within 10 minutes the police arrived and were talking to the manager, he then came over with the 3 police officers and pointed at my colleague and said he wanted him out of his hotel with 1 hour also he wanted me or my other colleague to leave too but wasn't sure which one was shouting at him ( for the record none of were shouting and this only happened a max 15 minutes earlier yet he wasn't sure who it was)
I asked the police if this was lawful and they replied the problem was between us and the hotel manager but if we didn't leave they would have to get involved.
We asked if we would be refunded as I was staying 1 more night and my colleagues were staying 2 and his answer was no and take it up with premier inn.
He then went away for about 5 minutes and came back and said I was the one shouting and wanted me out also within 1 hour ( the only thing I said at the bar was for my friend to forget it and let's get back to our partners)
I was actually sickened and embarrassed with what was happening to us in front of a packed lobby but could not see any other way this was going to change so we went up to our rooms and packed and left.
I have read a lot of reviews since this episode and the guys name comes up repeatedly across all review forums so it seems he does this thing regularly.
I do not know if the guy in question was having a tough day or was on a power trip but totally ruined our trip
- Jeffortless (8/5): Good hotel, very clean, great breakfasts, questionable management. - Those of you familiar with UK Premier Inns will find the hotel and room layout familiar. Same comfortable mattresses as the UK, decent value, a good breakfast for a reasonable price, the usual things.
We stayed for 4 nights in a family room which was larger than the usual UK equivalent. It overlooked a busy train track however there was adequate glazing blocking out the noise of trains and parakeets. The room was spotless and was cleaned mid-stay upon our request. Electricity in rooms and lift access requires the room key to be inserted, so I recommend requesting an additional key in case one of your party has to leave the room.
Breakfast team were very attentive and maintained good availability of food. Breakfast at weekends seems to get busy from around 8.45am. Outside of breakfast, food options are limited but there are some good restaurants in the area.
I would have given 5 stars if it were not for an unpleasant experience on departure when the duty manager insisted I needed to pay again for breakfasts which I had already paid for, and was somewhat assertive about the need to do this and would not listen to anything to the contrary (note that unlike the UK, there is no key-drop-off option). Following me escalating this via a phone call to the reception later in the day, the issue was resolved the next morning but the embarrassment of having to be told I was wrong in front of my party was disappointing, and I just got the usual 'we will learn from all feedback' copy-and-paste answer. A real shame as until then, the stay had been faultless.
