Guest Reviews
- Robwalkrail (10/5): Nice overnight stay in Bath - Spent the night in this City Centre Premier Inn Hotel - Room pleasant, bed very comfortable with additional pillows in the room if required. The Breakfast (full English option) was also excellent. Hotel is on edge of centre in good location and is a 5-7 minute walk from Bath Spa railway station.
- LynseyW725 (10/5): Brilliant location- great hotel - Very central hotel. Came with friends to go to the Christmas market and the thermae spa and the Roman baths. All very close. Perfecto location. Rooms were great - we asked for two twin interconnecting rooms - which we had. Check in was good with the very helpful and polite Estee. We had breakfast both days which was a good selection and everything u needed accept bowls that we had to wait for both days for breakfast - but a minor thing considering how busy it was. Staff were very busy and it seems they needed a few more members as they were rushed off their feet - everyone seemed to doing dual roles all the team were very polite and helpful if u needed anything. On our second night we decided to eat in the restaurant - which was good. We had a slight issue where a meal had to be sent back and there seems to be a lack of vegetables ,but the meal was replaced that was sorted quickly by Lily. Despite being very busy at times all staff were very cheerful and helpful. Would definitely recommend and definitely come again.
Location brillaint -
Walking distance for the train.
Staff amazing -
Shout out to Lilly and Estee.
- nicolaeS2601LH (10/5): Jo and Liz brilliant - Nicola - Have stayed here and Liz and Jo have been fantastic hosts never anything too much trouble. Clean room and bathroom. Also met a friend staying here Michael who thinks the same.
Will stay again thanks ladies x
- F1722QWjayh (10/5): A great stay, as promised. - I stayed with my partner and as always, had a lovely time. The rooms are good value for money and you can expect a great night's sleep, with a good breakfast waiting for you across the road.
The only letdown is the service upon arrival as we had to wait a good bit to see someone in the lobby and they were hard to understand.
Other than that, I would highly recommend.
- D9060SCjacobw (10/5): Worth a swing. - I met a nice elderly man in my local farm shop. He advised me about a swing club in the city of bath. Ive never done anything like that so I was curious. He assured me that single men were welcome. He simply said ‘why wouldn’t they be’. So I booked the premier inn in Bath city. I arrived at the hotel and it was nice and staff was lovely. Before leaving my home to travel I went shopping. I bought leather trousers and a dog lead for the swing club just so I could fit in with the vibe. On the night i admit I was nervous. I left the hotel wearing my leather trousers and dog lead and made my way to the club. When I arrived I was shocked! I payed £10 entry and walked into the main room. It was just a dozen elderly people sitting on swings! Like play park swings! I felt soooo stupid in my dog lead and leather trousers. Hotel and staff was nice though.
- bobbylB347OH (10/5): Family time - Stayed at the Premier Inn Bedford Town Centre Riverside with my wife and kids and we were really impressed. The room was clean and comfy, the beds were great, and the staff were genuinely friendly. The riverside location was lovely for a quick walk, and the kids absolutely loved the breakfast!
Would definitely stay again
- stevehQ4223LF (10/5): Great location, great staff, great experience - Great location, right in the city centre! Very friendly staff, very clean rooms, and overall excellent value for what we paid. Any issues were sorted out really quickly, and overall it made for a very pleasant stay in Bath for all of us.
- liviatoso (10/5): Best Premier Inn I've seen so far! - The Premier Inn in Bath is excellent. It's right at the centre of the city which makes access easy to all sights but luckily it's also silent, there's no noise coming through the windows. Bedroom and bathroom were big for this type of hotel, very spacious. The hotel was a whole was very clean anf staff was friedly and hospitable, we left our bags there before check-in and after check-out without hassle. Breakfast was delicious and cooked with much care, lots of different food options.
- Cappyfarm (4/5): Poor condition - Our room was poorly maintained.
The bathroom extraction fan did not work so the walls were wet and the skirting boards rotting.
The bath plug was broken and taps dirty.
The fan unit in the room was not working so the room was hot and uncomfortable.
The cups provided to drink from were dirty.
- lauramP5594BR (10/5): Great Location - We had a lovely sty at he Bedford town Centre hotel. The staff were really friendly and helped me with booking a taxi. The location is really convenient for Bedford and the breakfast was hot with the option o fresh eggs on request. Only downside is the parking cost.
- 114nicholal (10/5): Blinding breakfast - Included the breakfast during this stay and I wasn’t disappointed! Beautifully cooked full English breakfast with everything you would expect. You could help yourself. Lovely lady called Gemma was on hand to see if I would like a fresh fried egg. Was helped by a lovely lady called Mandy who helped me source some brown bread for my toast. Lots of cold drinks available as well as your usual hot drinks. A lovely young girl called elise helped me to my table as I was trying to juggle a very big plate of food plus drinks. Very clean and a lovely friendly atmosphere. 10/10
- graemes656 (6/5): Lovely location let down on quality of the bed - Lovely location and the room was very nice with a view , only thing that let this place down is I found the bed not very comfortable, this could just be to individual preference, I can’t comment on the food as I did not have breakfast or a meal
- roemanib (10/5): M - I traveled here on a business trip. One of the members of the team members called Dawn was very helpful and accommodating and made my experience great.
- 1staves (6/5): Service deteriorating due to understaffing - As ever the room is good .However despite best effotrts of staff service is poor due to understaffing . There were only two people covering all roles including reception. Taking orders cooking and serving staff _ This was both friday and saturday nights. And breakfast.
- M7339LHlewisr (2/5): Awful - Absolute stinker took 45 mins for starter staff arguing in the hall I’d be embarrassed if that was my staff, not a single positive to say about this place, even had staff swearing at customers who simply asked how long it would be
- 421sariet (2/5): Never again! - The reception area smelt of strong body odour and then the room smelt of smoke and sweat - it appeared clan but clearly people have been staying for longer periods of time than the odd night and its in the curtains and carpets it smells like someone's house that smokes. I also didn't feel safe as a female on my own it seems like a hotel mainly for male workers or males in general. Never again would I go there and its put me off premier inn in general now too
- gracenH9349GN (10/5): Warm and welcoming - Gemma was lovely, hotel was clean and comfortable will return.
Gemma was lovely, hotel was clean and comfortable will return.
- conman2019 (8/5): Good location - Good location
We recently stayed here for 2 nights arriving at 2.20 but had to wait till 3 to check in whether our room was ready or not
Lovely riverside view, apart from 1 or 2 little things the room was clean
First morning for breakfast we were greeted by a nice friendly lady who asked us about allergies, explained everything and asked for room number
Second morning we stood for nearly 15 minutes by the please wait to be seated sign before a different woman came
She only asked room number and would you like an egg.
Lovely breakfast both mornings spoilt by the luke warm coffee (latte and cappuccino) out of the coffee machine
Parking at the recommended nearby multi storey car park was expensive, difficult to work out the total amount to pay for 48 hours and unclear if we would receive a hotel discount after midnight on the Sunday night
We found it easier and much cheaper to park at Melbourne Street West ncp car park 10 mins walk away over the bridge.
But anyway,, good hotel, we enjoyed our stay
- CatsWhiskers_10 (6/5): Needs TLC - Location is great however rooms are looking tired, broken toilet seat, fan didn’t work, rough old towels, not great for £150.
We ate at the on-site restaurant. Food tasted ok however the chef, although on show to the restaurant, rolled his eyes as a reaction to a request to have sauce on the site, shook bacon backwards and forwards touching his dirty looking chefs jacket in the process and just before my burger was served, picked off the lid of the bun, starting picking black bits off of it and then put it back on for serving. Not a great experience at all.
If you are going to have the kitchen on show make sure the cooks do it right!
- siano400 (8/5): Great city hotel - Very clean right near town
Only problem was the curtain to the shower wasn't good and the floor got extremely wet
Paint was chipped in the bathroom near the floor
- janicejQ2788QG (10/5): Excellent - This is the best Premier Inn I stayed in. well done! all the staff are so friendly and everything is clean and as you would expect, I got the river view which was worth the money
- L3123RQchriss (2/5): No amenities paid for, boiling room, no sleep. - Unfortunately an incredibly uncomfortable stay at the usually reliable Premier Inn.
Paying extra for the premium room, we got a broken fridge so no cold water.
No treats.
And the room was stifling with no aircon and openable window - so got basically no sleep whatsoever.
- J4521LDjennys (10/5): Lily is incredible! - The room was average, no real issues what so ever. However I wanted to leave a review purely based on Lily in the Bar & Block restaurant. She is incredible! By far the best service (and warmth) we have ever received and would return purely based on her. She is an absolute credit to your team!
- Flyer56993605991 (6/5): Dirty rooms. - Booked a 1 family room for two nights and a 1 family room extra for the 2nd nights we had family join us. Was charged for three individual nights rather than the discounted rate agreed. Customer service call was no better. Stayed at many premier inns. These guys didn’t care. Room smells of smoking. Bed spread was stained. Bathroom still dirty. Not worth £250+ per night. Never using again.
- susie036 (10/5): Beautiful Bath - Everything was wonderful. Staff could not be more helpful and Breakfast was gr8. Room a little tired, needs painting but beds were very comfortable. We all had a goid nights sleep
- Fowler43 (10/5): Gluten Free Heaven - As a recently diagnosed coeliac, I was really worried about eating breakfast somewhere that wasn’t home. Lorna and the team were absolutely wonderful and I couldn’t have asked for better service. I was given clean cutlery, a lovely lady made me some gluten free toast and Lorna was amazing, serving me my breakfast with separate utensils. I was seriously impressed! A huge thank you and well done to the team and I hope other Premier Inns do the same.
- B9697BTdanm (10/5): Great breakfast - Pop in now and again for breakfast with my girlfriend. Great views and a friendly team. Ask for an omelette if you go at the weekend they’re great :)
- E3547SHdavida (10/5): Good straightforward value - Straightforward Premier Inn experience, clean, comfortable and efficient and reasonably priced. No car parking on the premises, but this is always a problem in central Bath.
- adrianfR8414KY (2/5): No eggs at breakfast - Very disappointed to find out that they had run out of eggs at breakfast.
Not what I expect from a premier inn.
You can do better
- meganbT37DD (10/5): 5* customer service! - We managed to get a last minute booking tonight - we had a guest house booked which was terrible so we needed to find a last minute room. Kenan managed to fit us in last minute and went above & beyond for us, we're so grateful. Thank you so much for your great customer service - we will 100% be returning and recommending all our family & friends to stay!
- nsfo2019 (4/5): Disappointing Stay at Premier Inn Bath — Poor Quality for the Price - Pros:
• Great location, close to major attractions
• Breakfast tastes good
• Standard Premier Inn experience overall
Cons:
• Very poor soundproofing; noisy at night due to the pub downstairs
• Bathroom was old and had a bad smell
• No cups provided for rinsing
• Old, worn-out towels
• Air conditioning available only upon request
• Only one staff member at the lobby
• Staff seemed inattentive to food quality (e.g. rotten bananas at breakfast)
• Only one power socket by the bed — very inconvenient
• Price was not cheap, yet quality was the worst Premier Inn I’ve stayed in
• Surprisingly poor standards for a hotel in a tourist city like Bath — really disappointing
- edcD1338XQ (10/5): Outstanding staff and situation handling - I had a really warm welcome from reception, I felt at home. Had a couple small issues with the room however how the manager handled it deserves them not to loose any stars
Would definitely come back again
Couldn't fault anything
- shelleyt717 (4/5): You Get What You Pay For - To be fair we were just looking for a bed which we got (love Premier Inn beds). It was very uninspiring, tired and smelt gross. The lift floors were visually dirty all weekend and the corridors were very smelly. Staff were friendly enough and we didn't really need much. Have stayed in a number of Premier Inns and this is not one I would recemmend or return to. Also, recommended offsite parking is a significant walk with luggage and costs considerably more than advertised on the website. The smell was the worst.
- 457garyu (8/5): Good value - Bed was comfy, room was clean. Was too hot and no option to open the window and no air con. Corridors outside the room has a strange smell but this was not in the room. Breakfast was nice, good selection
- N2584NNjohnt (10/5): Back to Bath - Spent 3 nights in Bath and as the many times we've stayed before we're not disappointed.
Hotel is clean and staff friendly.
Katie receptionist and Kasia
breakfast waitress were fantastic
- davidwE7386BY (10/5): Two night business stay - Great location , rooms as expected , lovely lady in reception, as were all the staff , very good value for money . I would definitely stay here again
- macroberts (6/5): Perfectly located - Hotel well positioned in central Bath, walking distance to everything. No issues but lacks a little atmosphere and character. As a room to stay no issues but pretty no frills.
- joshgX4206ZI (6/5): The building is nice but cheap construction. - The building and room was very clean. Checkin was quick with the self checkin service. Only problem is the walls are paper thin I could hear the room above coughing and the room next to me talking and giggling most of the night.
- N1417SRscotts (6/5): Nice location and views from thd 8th floor, but led down by a sub par car park and bad drains smell. - Nice location but let down by lack of its own deficated car park. Yes there is chargeable parking available locally at the River centre multi story (at a reasonable rate too) but anyone with a larger (and particularly wider) car than a medium sized hatchback or saloon needs to be very careful getting in and out if the park (and also between levels) as the entrance, exit and level ramps are all quite narrow and have very high kerbs waiting to take chunks out of your wheels. The roadways being narrow, these kerbs are also very hard to see once you've begun your turn in.
Oh yes, and on exit, avoid using the left hand of the two exit barriers at all costs (see above warning about high kerbs if doing so). Much easier and safer to wait a little so you can go straight out the right hand barrier without needing to turn in.
Room was ok, if a little snug for a family of four, and the staff helpful and cheerful.
- 25damonc (10/5): Lovely little hotel - Oh what a lovely little hotel, the lady on reception was so friendly and helpful no waiting to check in. The hotel seemed clean in the corridors and the room was so much bigger than other hotels we have stayed in. The room was clean and fresh but the bathroom needs more attention in cleaning and general upkeep. The breakfast was not attached to the hotel but that was not an issue.
- sarahj916 (10/5): Five ⭐️ experience - The Company I work for booked me at the Riverside while I work at the Bedford branch, from check up until the next before I check out, all the colleagues here have been phenomenal! They have made my stay feel extra special, they are always cheery, even when they are dealing with guests that are in my opinion rude and disrespectful.
I wanted one night to take my food up to my room they prepard it beautifully and even offered to bring it up to my from, all the food is delicious!
One particular lady I let her know I had made a mess without meaning to, she made sure I didn't feel ashamed, and said it will be all cleaned up. this evening I come into my room and she left me some goodies with a lovely note that actually brought tears to my eyes, I hope she reads this and knows she is an absolute treasure x
The only one thing that was not anyone's fault I struggled with was how warm the room is, but on the plus side at least it'll be perfect for when those cold nights settle in.
I highly recommend staying here, I thoroughly look forward to coming back. ✨️
- Q5682JNstephent (6/5): Worst Premier Inn breakfast ever - Hotel room was adequate but Bathroom was in need of a little TLC around the skirting boards but it was clean and tidy
We did book on arrival breakfast for both days on the first day was told there was no cooked breakfast and on the second the so called cooked breakfast was cold!
- Seaside15507180356 (10/5): Lovely place - Was very clean and tidy, the staff are friendly an polite! Checking in was quick an easy, the room service was great would recommend to everyone!!
- Jet53900841701 (10/5): Great! - Had such a lovely stay at Premier Inn Bedford South! The staff were really friendly and welcoming which made checking in easy. The room was clean comfy and had everything we needed. The bed was so comfortable, I had one of the best night’s sleep I’ve had in ages. Would definitely come back and happily recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
- bethanh571 (10/5): My stay - Another great stay here. Staff extremely friendly, approachable and will go out of their way to help you. Hotel feels clean and well looked after. Rooms spotless.
- W9161OGnicolam (2/5): An Uncomfortable Night. - I was so disappointed with this Premier Inn. We usually use Premier Inn and love their wonderful beds. This Hotel was exceptionally shabby and it needs a complete overhaul. The corridor walls were dirty. The skirting board in the bathroom was chipped and the paint flakes were all over the bathroom floor. The floor was sticky and worst of all the mattress was not like anything I have slept on in a Premier Inn. I wonder if it was terribly old. An uncomfortable night.
Staff at reception and at the restaurant were lovely.
- 949bluep (10/5): Lovely - Welcoming staff, clean room. Good location little bit of construction work but didn’t disturb our stay whatsoever - Receptionist on duty was also very welcoming.
- 626shenab (10/5): Spectacular - First time staying at this premier inn. Easy to get to, clean hotel, clean room, friendly staff. Will definitely recommend to others.
- candour (2/5): Very poor - Very poor experience - room was very worn (furniture chipped and cracked) and not at all clean. Mould in the shower and the floor desperately needed hoovering. Reception team very friendly and helpful but will not be returning. You used to know what you were getting with Premier Inn but standards have seriously slipped.
- SteveMRochester (6/5): Needs to improve - Stayed here for just one night, but this wasn't the best of the Premier Inns. We have stayed in quite a few around the country and I was hopeful that this would be similar but there wasn't much of a welcome. The member of staff who checked us in didn't really talk, seemed very quiet, didn't even say Hello. Our room on the ground floor I was expecting to be noisy, but thankfully it wasn't. The room wasn't particularly clean, dust everywhere, strange brown stains on the wall near the toilet, hairs in the shower and no shower gel in the dispenser. Bed was very comfortable which was a bonus but I wouldn't recommend to stay here again.
- stevejS1809LC (4/5): Squalid may be too strong a word, but… - Stayed here ten years ago when it first opened and WOW has it changed! Rooms are tatty, shower didn’t work properly, tub was so slippery (no rubber mat provided) I nearly broke my neck every time I tried to get out! They seem to be building an extension next door, not sure if this includes renovating the current rooms. For the price they charge per night you’d expect much better…
- julieeclaire (2/5): Awful. - Worst hotel stay ever. Rooms were dirty. No clean towels or toilet paper (we bought our own in the end). Staff shortage meant no hot food available for dinner on first night and for the following 2 days no food available for breakfast, the hotel was full and they obviously did not have sufficient staff to look after and feed guests.
- Niccyc (6/5): Reggaeland weekend - Not the best premier Inn. Staff nice room not up to the standard of other branches. Breakfast was not very hot bed was good room no phone or working usb sockets
- R510GHjacquelinem (10/5): Caring Staff through a difficult time - 5* staff and service. Due to a sad family event, we needed to stay close to Bedford hospital. The staff could not have been more caring. We can not thank them enough. We have now returned home with a better outcome than was first predicted with the knowledge that if we need to return, we know exactly where to book. A wonderful place to stay. Thank you so much for helping to make a sad few days into somewhere we could come back to try to relax
Pizza and breakfast exceptional. Thank you.
- ritzyk2020 (4/5): Gross, cleaners need retraining. - The room was an absolute mess, clumps of crumbs, bobbles, plastic tags, sequins and gems all over the floor. Make up and hair all over the windowsill. Muck and dirt all over the shower floor, dirt on the mirrors, toilet unclean, water in the kettle and the foulest smell of stale pipes in the room. The room hadn’t been cleaned at all. The only thing was the beds made. Spoke to the front desk and the loveliest girl helped us called Annabelle. She made up and cleaned a new room for us on her own, whilst dealing with a lot of other complaints from guests about unclean rooms. The poor girl was left on her own to sort all of this out and it’s not on. She was being pulled left right and centre and still trying to make everyone’s stay good. This girl needs a raise for the shift she had to deal with, the cleaners need retraining. Absolutely gross. The new room Annabelle made up was fab, we had no problems with that room, faultless. She’s an asset to your company and shouldn’t be dealing with all these issues. Surely the rooms should have been checked by a cleaning supervisor? I booked weeks in advance as well so there is no excuse for last minute booking. The only reason I would ever rebook is because of the service Annabelle gave. Other than that it was disgusting.
- M5089VScolinc (10/5): Great reception - The reception was very helpful and enjoyed the stsy was good very clean room and bed.shower and toilet area very clean .The brewers fayre across the road the food was cooked well and was served hot the beer was very cold just how I like it ........
- Omgitsheragain (2/5): Not the usual standard for a Premier Inn. Avoid. - If you ever stay at Trentham Gardens Premier Inn (we did says before staying here), you'd find it hard to believe it's the same company. As a comparison for value, we paid £98.98 for Trentham and £110 for Bedford South., both inclusive of breakfast.
We booked as a couple, room obviously set up for just one person. One set of towels, one armchair, only two tea bags (stingy). Mould in the shower, and grimey skirting board, soap dispenser hadn't been cleaned for months even if it had been refilled. Threadbare carpet and very low ceilings (6' 4" people are in danger of head injuries). Breakfast was disgusting and over at Brewers Fayre. Woman on reception got us the second set of towels, but didn't check that anything else was needed.
To compare, the Trentham garden Premier Inn was clean, spacious, had new carpet and a purple light in the bathroom - really beautifully decorated - and staff were fab. The breakfast was superb.
Don't understand why the two were so different, but Bedford South needs to shut down for a refurb. I feel for any of the guys using this as a stopover for work purposes.
- Primeribb (2/5): Knackered mouldy bathroom and a restaurant next door run by kids with zero training - Is nobody doing anything about the horrendous black mould in the bathrooms....Im not the first to highlight either.
Not to mention the paint worn, flaking and the smell....
Don't bother dining next door, the place is run by untrained kids.
Get your act together Bedford South
- 356ameliao (4/5): Bad - Was so hot at night could barely sleep with my partner! Air condition didn’t work and WiFi was absolutely terrible. Not worth the cost. Will have to agree that I wasted a good amount of money on a poor hotel and service, definitely wouldn’t recommend
