Guest Reviews
- ghockley1981 (8/5): Clean comfortable rooms a 5min drive from Lapland UK and Legoland - Great staff, good rooms with a beefeater next door made for a nice easy stay with everything you need.
There is a petrol station with a M&S a 1 min drive down the road.
- cameronmZ8410KO (10/5): Amazing - Me and my lovely fiancée stayed at ballsall common premier inn and I’ve got to say it was outstanding, The rooms and modern and comfortable with cozy feel to them. The staff was extremely welcoming and police to me and my fiancée. I have to mention the receptionist because he gave us the full experience but showing us to our room and explaining where all the facilities are and with times they are available till. He was very polite and made us feel so welcome. The food was amazing and fresh and there’s not one thing or part of this premier inn I can complaint about, would highly recommend this to all people, family and friends.
- G5837XJwendyr (8/5): Clean accommodation, friendly staff and good food. Ideal for visiting NEC - Although decor in some areas is beginning to look a little tired the accommodation was clean and comfortable. All of the staff, both at Premier Inn and The Beefeater were friendly, polite and efficient and the food both at breakfast and in the evening was good. Quite close to NEC and easy to find following Sat nav.
- tonibV4106HO (4/5): Cold room and restaurant that had run out of staples - When we eventually found the hotel ((not signposted at road end) and got to our room it was very cold -15o. Receptionist was so helpful. She set the room control so that the power stayed on and brought a radiator. So by bedtime it was cosy. But then it went off in the night so we got up in the cold. No heating in bathroom. At dinner we were told that the fish fryer was broken so no fish. They had run out of curry and of our chosen wine they only had one glass. Something very wrong with stock control.
Bedroom nicely refurbished but was it really necessary to squeeze a day bed in as well as a double. It was very cramped.
This is the second Premium Inn this year to have disappointed. The name is being dragged down. The staff here were kind, helpful and friendly - a contrast to Harrogate south which still seems to be unsatisfactory.
- Gregorysgirl67 (8/5): Hotel OK, needs a refresh - Stayed at this Premier Inn the night after visiting lapland uk which is only 6 minutes away by car. Also a lovely longacres garden centre 2 mins drive away which was very festive.
Hotel was a great location. Felt clean but a little tired in places.
Breakfast was OK but nothing special, the restaurant which is the beefeater also felt a bit tired & grubby in places. That being said it was a great location for one night.
- 811donnac (2/5): Absolutely awful - Wouldn't stay here again very disappointed!
There was pubic hair in the sink
Human hair in the plughole of the bath/shower
Window that wouldn't close by where our daughter was sleeping she was freezing and the sill kept having pools of water on it our daughter ended up sleeping with us! There was an awful odour from the toilet everytime it was flushed!
The breakfast was awful pale bacon; slimy eggs and the sausages tasted strange!
My daughter is full of cold and my husband has a dodgy stomach
We stayed from the 14-16th November 2025!
No clean towels provided for two days
Oh and I also on two seperate occasions heard staff members talking badly about guests!!!
- JuliaA_12 (10/5): Perfect Lapland UK Base With Mattress From Heaven - Stayed overnight to go to Lapland UK the next day along with some other families. The Christmas decs were out which was lovely. It was the bed that made it - it's true what they say about Premier Inn mattresses - I felt like I was being cradled by a giant cloud from the Land of Snooze. Life can never be the same again. No bed will ever be good enough. I need to buy one!!
- S834DQjohnr (10/5): Premier inn excellent value for money - Easy 24hr check in, freindly staff, spacious rooms, lovely clean and comfortable bed,and right next-door too a beefeater which does a great breakfast.
- B1266KSianm (8/5): Nice place .. turn the heating up in the rooms though - Rooms are very clean , restaurant is great and the staff are very helpful. Only gave 4 stars instead of 5 as rooms were cold . 17 degrees and impossible to adjust as the thermostat is fixed . I’ve stayed here a number of times and staff are very helpful. Special mention to Michelle who is always on the go. Nice place overall
- 77mazb (8/5): Highly recommended - Welcoming staff, clean and comfortable bed.
Good night's sleep and excellent food and service from Beefeater next door.
- dons749 (10/5): Well up to expectation - Everything at this Premier Inn well up to expected standard. Staff helpful, room comfortable and very clean, parking included in price, even a corridor link to the separate restaurant (avoiding the dash in the rain). Full marks.
- lesleyj685 (8/5): Weekend away to visit Warwick Arts Centre. - The staff were very helpful on arrival,
the room was clean warm and comfortable with hot drinks available in room and free Wi-Fi.
- kdb246 (8/5): Good value - Clean and comfortable rooms.
Warm and friendly staff.
Food very good on the food deal in the attached pub.
Good value for money.
- Pugsontour1 (10/5): Does what it says on the tin - Premier Inns are always very similar and this was no exception.
We had booked so we could go to NEC which is 10 minutes drive away.
Parking is free but you have to remember to register your car.
Receptionist was friendly. Room was clean and warm
Staff in adjoining restaurant didn't want to be there so we walked 15 minutes into town to find some lovely pubs and a devine Indian restaurant (Tamarind
- 350kirstyb (10/5): Amazing staff and welcome. It's the little things.... - From the moment we arrived we couldn't find a fault with the hotel. The staff were so friendly and the service was great. It was lovely to still be greeted by a person on reception (and not a screen), but to then be further greeted with a hand written note welcoming us to the hotel in our room, its the little things that really count.
The room was clean and well equipped with all the standard tea, coffee, soaps etc you expect, but we also had an openable window and a fan (although the temperature was fine). The bed and bedding was so comfortable we all had an amazing nights sleep.
We used the beefeater next door for our evening meal and breakfast the food was of a good standard but again it was the welcome and the service that were second to none, everyone was so friendly and helpful, checking everything was ok for us and nothing was too much trouble for anyone.
- Muss132 (10/5): Excellent stay - 1st time here and will definitely be back - spotless throughout - lovely atmosphere in the bar and dining room - great meals and drinks and value for money - all the staff really nice and helpful nothing too much bother -
- TA-14561 (10/5): Quality Premier Inn - Quick and friendly service on check in, fresh and clean room. Great convenient location. Amazing food in the attached restaurant. Will return.
- FarAway55872004148 (10/5): Very impressive - I stayed here for work first a couple of nights,I must say check inn was easy, the room was specious and very clean, and staff were very helpful, definitely recommend
- bethanm601 (8/5): This Inn continues to improve. - We stay here rather than other Premier Inns.
The rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms have walk-in showers. They have been refurbished too
The meal this evening was the best we have experienced in a Premier Inn anywhere.
It was fresh and properly cooked.
The lady who served us, Michelle, is friendly and helpful. She remembered us as soon as she saw us. Now that is exceptional. She is good at her job and does it with a smile.
We will be back.
- K8695AHjanetb (8/5): Great staff but would not eat here - Excellent helpful warm staff couldn't do enough to assist. Would not bother eating here as found the burgers dry and tasteless and looked like done in a microwave. Quite a few menu items not available including pizzas, flatbreads etc etc Noticed a few people having a food delivery and folks coming in with MacDonalds
- jasene2016 (10/5): What a lovely Premier Inn - What a lovely Premier Inn, rooms and public area's were very clean, along with helpful and friendly staff. Looking forward to my next trip back.
- Gregory (6/5): - Overall stay ok, but room are dated, and smell weird.
- mariawB2406KV (2/5): Unhappy, overpriced - Do not go here, stayed for one night, travelled from Somerset receptionist miserable not welcoming, room wasn't even ready. Went to eat in restaurant next door, food was horrendously expensive. Decoration in bar area was horrendous.
- kevinbK4130JZ (10/5): Visit ascot races - Stayed at bagshot premier inn to visit the races at ascot and had a fantastic stay staff very friendly and welcoming also in the pub nextdoor will stay there again if going to ascot again very convenient and good value
- N3900EYdavidl (10/5): Convenient, clean and comfortable - Convenient, clean and comfortable with welcoming and friendly staff as we have come to expect from Premier Inn. The room was smaller than all other Premier Inns we have stayed in but was perfectly adequate. Breakfast was excellent. We had the ‘Meal Deal’ and dinner was very good and exceptional value.
- lorrainebP5350FS (10/5): Stay - Had a lovely stay with my partner. We were checked in by mia, who was absolutely adorable. She explained breakfast times, and if we needed anything, she was on till late. We will definitely recommend . Thank you
- wholesomef2025 (10/5): Cleanest rooms - Clean hotel, lovely staff who were very attentive, couldn’t have asked for more! Thank you to the whole team and housekeeping
- npye2024 (10/5): Family Stay - By far the best Premier Inn we have stayed at, friendly, helpful staff who made us feel very welcome. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left every member of staff was very helpful, kind and funny. The room was very clean, comfortable and a great size for a family room. Great value for money, we will definitely stay there again.
- KVMudge (6/5): Good location and a receptionist who made our stay great - Receptionist was lovely
No lift but a few rooms on ground floor
Room ok - no luggage shelf or rack
Shower gel like water
No aircon but heating and fans available
Breakfast was not as good as advertised.
Cooked breakfast was lovely
Crumpets, pancakes and muffins were awful. Danish pastry’s were good.
Considering the size of the hotel the hot food buffet was small causing a queue.
Check out was easy
- sallym0rgan (10/5): Very helpful and friendly service!! - We were there for the Ayr races on Saturday 20th September with my family, husband and my Mum and Dad
We had breakfast there- it was lovely and very good quality, I left my umbrella by mistake, called the girl at reception- they could not be more helpful, they were keeping it for me at reception when we got back
On coming back to the hotel from the racecourse, I left my phone in the taxi and did not know which taxi service it was......
Not only did Ami and Michelle on front reception call the restaurant we had dinner at, Fox and Willow, which was amazing! Ami found out which taxi company they used, called the taxi company and found the driver who brought my phone back!!
It was unbelievable I got it back, but could not have without the amazing help of Ami and Michelle- we are so grateful for their help, they went above and beyond for us
We will definitely be back- thank you Ami and Michelle
- Brycii (8/5): Gold Cup. Gold Service. - Had dinner at the adjoining restaurant ( we weren't staying at the hotel). It was a busy weekend locally so the restaurant was full and running at full capacity. The staff were fantastic, they ran the service like clockwork and always with a smile and a joke. They were efficient and friendly without appearing flustered: very professional. They made sure they had a few minutes to chat with each customer without affecting the smooth running of the restaurant. Big shout out to Ami , Michelle & Kayla. Well done girls.
- Curiosity46995672611 (10/5): Brilliant service - Comfortably the best Premier Inn I’ve stayed in. Friendly service, very courteous. Nothing was too much trouble. Superb!
- JohnHay123 (10/5): Great customer service. - Staff could not be more helpful dealing with any issues especially Mia who went out of her way to ensure a satisfactory room was supplied and that everything was in order. Excellent customer service by her and it was greatly appreciated.
A very professional polite young lady who is a credit to Premier Inn.
- 458LindaB (10/5): Amazing Staff. - Excellent room. As always with Premier Inn’s a really comfortable bed. Amazing friendly and helpful staff.
Best bit? The breakfast cooked to order so fresh hot and delicious! Breakfast staff helpful, and efficient .
- Holly1202 (10/5): Nice hotel with excellent staff - I stayed at this hotel on Thursday 11th Sept with our car club. On arrival we were greeted at the reception by Kayla. She welcomed us and booked us in and explained the arrangements for our evening meal and breakfast. Having popped my gear to my room I returned to the reception area where the bar is located and found that Kayla also served drinks, multitasking! Having had my beer I then moved on to the restaurant with the group for our evening meal only to find that not only did Kayla work the reception and the bar but also served the evening meals! I stay at a lot of hotels and it's the staff that make the difference and Kayla deserves as a minimum a bonus if not a pay rise as she seemed to do everything except cook the food, well done.
- Markdubya (6/5): Decent room but pretty average overall - Not sure what is happening to Premier Inn's at the moment but overall they have gone from excellent for the money to pretty average to poor. The outside of the building is in need of TLC which is the same as a majority of the inside. Rooms are reasonably decent though.
Breakfast at this site was truly dire with lack of selection, cooked food not replaced fast enough and some left to just solidify. Tables were dirty and sticky and the restaurant is very very tired. Staff were good its just the whole building needs a refurb.
I would not use this hotel again.
- 299DavidB (10/5): Good night sleep, great staff, and good food - We stayed at this hotel for the NEC ReformUK conference. Although the outside of the hotel and parking area looked very rundown. Reception and restaurant staff were first class. Our evening meal was extremely enjoyable as was our breakfast.A also had a really good night sleep, thanks very much.
- ZHC7 (10/5): Home from home - This place is home from home. I stay regularly as a solo female visiting an elderly parent nearby. It feels so safe and welcoming. Special shout out to Mia-Rose on reception who goes above and beyond making me feel welcome.
- 641marcellah (10/5): Mark the exceptional worker - One of the workers (mark ) was exceptional he controlled the whole breakfast area himself and he deserves an award he ensured that we were all happy and he was just a friendly guy
- W8201TKjoanneg (6/5): Stay - I stayed at this hotel on 7th Aug very last min due to having a poor experience in Bracknell’s branch and I particularly felt supported and comfortable by Elyse as a lone traveller being a woman
Clean room spacious. Looked very tired outside lots of litter!
- oliviadO2996VP (10/5): Amazing stay, will stay again! - Amazing staff, very friendly and helpful. Very clean room, couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The breakfast was very nice, all catered for
- 698ciarad (10/5): Would stay again - A really good experience at this hotel. Rooms are immaculate and staff are helpful, especially the manager who was extremely helpful. I would stay again.
- 815tendaic (10/5): Great experience - Had a pleasant stay there. We went as a couple for just a weekend getaway from home. The rooms were clean and tidy and also the staff were nice and helpful.
- harryfH4992UY (10/5): Excellent stay - Check in was extremely quick and easy. Team did a great job making sure I had the correct room. Room was really clean and overall hotel was very clean.
- rwelsfordx (10/5): Great stay! - We recently stayed at Premier Inn Balsall Common for a WWE show at the NEC. It was very reasonably priced considering I booked at the last minute, very easy to find and great free parking available.
Staff were very attentive and helped us out as we were there with 2 children so made it very easy for us by booking us a taxi straight to the show. On our arrival back to the hotel after our show, we were surprised with a lovely note and treats which our boys were very pleased about! Such a lovely touch and grateful for a stress free very memorable trip! Would definitely stay here again if we visit the NEC again in the future.
- P9312DKmeganr (10/5): Very pleased:) - I stayed two nights here and was very impressed with the service! It was very clean and the staff were all lovely, would definitely recommend!
- 33ninap (10/5): Ayr - you did it all and more. - This stay was outstanding- everything about this inn meets your needs. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff - a place we'd come back to. Thank you Ayr Racecourse Premier Inn.
- Q2917PGchriss (10/5): 'If it's not broken, don't fix it. 10/10 - Regulars with Premier Inn. First time at Balsall Common. Will most definitely stay there again. Receptionist, Sinead went above and beyond. Accessible room was exactly that, bathroom and bedroom spacious and very clean. Very easy access from room to the foyer for a mobility scooter. Meal deal good value. Although, if like us, you sleep from 2200hrs to 1136hrs, without murmuring, you miss breakfast. As is usual, very comfortable sleep. Thanks for an exceptionally good stay.
- Z9863SQadamh (10/5): It's The Little Things - A warm welcome from the reception staff on arrival with an easy check in and able to book breakfast the following morning (glad we did as it was pretty full).
Room was clean and pleasant (if a few signs of wear and tear). We even had a bar of chocolate, sweets for the kids and a personalised welcome card which was a great touch.
We all slept well and had a great shower in the morning, before breakfast and check out.
Thank you for a pleasant stay
The Hodgson family.
- J5971SFstephenp (8/5): Hotel in good location with friendly staff. - Great location. Staff were polite & very helpful. Mia on reception was extremely helpful & friendly, nothing was too much trouble, she is a credit to the Premier Inn experience.
- Meander50843002732 (2/5): For a poor night's sleep visit here. - Horrendous noise from within the hotel in the early hours on both the nights we stayed with no attempt to address it made by the hotel, not even an apology for us losing hours of sleep.
- irob250 (4/5): Hotel in a great place great room but there was a total Karen working there we were slightly late for our meal and turned us awa - Premier inn excellent but a total Karen working there turned us away at 7pm.for being slightly late restaurant 1/4 full terrible attitude
- 342martinl (2/5): Need to be a planner - Okay so this is a Premier Inn end of the day and the standard of the accomodation is as you would expect but if your planning to eat food make sure you prepare ahead.
After working for 15 hours and coming back here mid evening the kitchen refused to feed us, the ladies are really nice and were trying but the kitchen refuse to feed. Worst PI I’ve stayed in as this is totally unacceptable.
Written whilst hungry…..thanks for nothing!!!
- B6162VGneilm (10/5): Another fantastic stay - Hotel staff are professional, kind and very friendly. Hotel is clean, tidy and bedrooms have all the facilities you need. Bedding is great with choice of firm or soft pillows, great mattress and quilt. Menu meets most dietary needs and overall great value for money. Location excellent for golf courses and two beaches, close to historical sites and beautiful countryside.
- michaelm736 (10/5): Renewed Confidence In Premier Inn - Restored our confidence In Premier Inn after disastrous stay at Manchester West Didsbury last year. Enjoyable dinner and nice staff. Rooms are smaller but have step-in shower which we like. Bathrooms have effective ventilation and rooms also have directional bedside lights that allow reading - something in both cases much more expensive hotels can fail to do. No air conditioning, which again we like, despite a very warm night, - not fans of air conditioning as in Edinburgh Park Inn. Teapots for breakfast appreciated, not fans of tea bags in mug..
- 101cliveb (6/5): Slightly disappointing but willing to try again! - "Premier Plus" = Paying an extra £12 (actually £7 extra because you can get the ultimate wifi for a fiver without 'plus') for 2 bottles of water and 2 tiny (and I mean tiny) squares of chocolate ain't 'plus' anything in my book!
Calling the bed "double" is a bit of a stretch of the imagination as well! During the night my wife and I had more collisions than the Large Hadron Collider :-) This hotel doesn't even offer 2 single beds - if you ask for that you get the "double" plus a sofa-bed.
As a previous reviewer mentioned, the breakfast wasn't up to much. But we had the meal-deal and the starter/main choices were good and the food was nice.
Staff were friendly, but seemed overworked - like there weren't enough of them.
- 615vicm (10/5): Great Stay - My room was an accessible room, the shower room was fantastic, everything to hand, the lighting within the shower room was great.
The room was warm and clean.
The beds were comfortable.
All the staff were friendly and professional.
The food was wholesome.
- lindsayburnett001 (10/5): Great Premier Inn - Staff are so friendly and helpful. Premier Plus room was very nice and great value. Food meal deal was great value. Quality of food was good. Location of hotel is on outskirts of Ayr, basically surrounded by Arnold Clark dealerships. Not a problem though
- 200DAR (4/5): Disappointing and depressing experience - Where to start! This hotel has "Premier Plus" rooms and we booked a double for 2 nights, April 30th-May 2nd. I wouldn't bother with the extra expense for basically 2 bottles of water. The room was directly above a generator or AC unit working all night so the window couldn't be opened without hearing all the noise. These rooms should be in the best part of the hotel otherwise why bother having one. The shower flooded the floor because it hadn't been cleaned properly, we had to unblock the shower drain despite having told reception. We removed a complete blockage made up from masses of black hair-disgusting. To be fair reception did subsequently use some proprietary drain unblocker the next day and disposed of the hair from the bin. While on the subject of the shower why have a hand wash in the shower along with a body wash but no shampoo, there was already a hand wash at the basin? We asked for shampoo but none was forthcoming, just another body wash.
Breakfast- the first day the chef hadn't turned up so no cooked breakfast available. I had already pre-paid so was told that Premier Inn would refund £2 and I could have the "continental breakfast", I would be ashamed to present what was basically a slice of toast and a cup of coffee, the fruit and yoghurts hadn't been topped up. To add insult to injury the £2 refund has been added to my card as a debit-unbelievable!
Day 2 breakfast was also an insult to catering, pre-cooked hot items like dry scrambled eggs, solid fried eggs that were not recognisable as such, congealed baked beans etc, I needn't go on, I think you've got the picture. I wonder if any Premier Inn executives have ever eaten breakfast at this hotel, if they have and still market this product they should hang their heads in shame.
Overall a disappointing and depressing experience, I've used Premier Inn on numerous occasions but this really was a an eye opener that I will not want to repeat, and can I please have my £2 refund!!
- Curious01465036660 (10/5): Premier Inn - Excellent hotel. The staff are very friendly, and happy to help...Nice sized rooms, comfy bed , and pillows... Very clean and a great view of Arran.... Nice bar and restaurant
area, and good value meal deal.Breakfast nice and hot, in self serve basus. Plenty of parking spaces too.. I would definitely recommend a stay...
