Guest Reviews
- jenniferdA3652RA (10/5): Stay here - Liam and his team were absolute stars. The room was warm and spotlessly clean. Thankyou. I'd thoughoughly recommend this hotel for value, location to the A303 and customer service
- 111waynet (10/5): Honestly couldn’t recommend enough! - Honestly had such an amazing overnight stay. Made to feel so welcome. Lovely room, best nights sleep & Wow ! The breakfast on Sunday morning was amazing. It was busy but we were still so looked after by the whole team. Honestly couldn’t fault & had such a lovely stay. Would definitely recommend.
- smudge780 (8/5): Good location - Great location, less than 10 minute walk to train station. Slightly too far to walk to centre.
Building on the outside is in need of a tidy up and a fresh coat of paint.
Receptionist was very friendly and welcoming.
Room was lovely and clean, and a great size. Bed was so comfortable.
Really good value for money too.
Beef eater on site where we had breakfast. Restaurant definitely needed to be smartened up, rips in chairs and paper peeling off.
- W9571JLak (8/5): A pleasant budget stay. - We booked with the Arundel hotel as we are due to attend a wedding in February and wanted to check out the local hotel's access arrangements. I booked a room with a lower level bath as I have mobility issues and received a phone call the day before our arrival. The lady I spoke to wanted to check that I had everything I needed and that I could evacuate without assistance should the need arise. This was very reassuring.
We were greeted by friendly staff who checked us in and directed us to our room. The room allocated was clean, tidy and had everything I needed. It was easily accessible from Reception which definitely helped. I had a couple of quibbles: One set of bathroom towels really isn't sufficient if two guests are sharing a room. The mattress was too soft for my personal preference and I woke with back ache. Having said that, it was set at lower level and was easy for me to reach. We didn't notice any traffic noise.
The building itself could do with a bit of tlc and looks a bit worse for wear, but everything inside was spotless. Similarly the restaurant could benefit from new bench seating as those were very worn and torn in places.
Breakfast was plentiful and of good quality. The restaurant staff were attentive and served us quickly despite being understaffed.
Overall, our night's stay was good value. We will be coming back next year.
- Geir arne (6/5): - Good breakfast, rom is ok.
- paultZ7970XV (8/5): A good experienmce, overall. - A very convenient stopping place for us - two minutes off the A303. Satnav took us straight there.
Welcoming staff at reception and in the restaurant. Rooms were clean, comfortable and adequately furnished.
our only negative observation was that the restaurant could do with an upgrade, and all of the tables were sticky to touch - the staff said they had tried everything... A shame - we would still return...
- Doug (6/5): - 3 night trip, convenient location
- al7712018 (10/5): Great stay and great food - What can I say, from start to finish we had an amazing time and felt wanted and important. The staff were lovely and communicated everything we could ask for. I got the feeling that the team were more like a family than work colleagues and Liam who I think was the manager seemed to be everywhere and so friendly. We had a lovely breakfast which set us up for the day and my daughter was made to feel like a princess which is what she will now expect from us!!!! Great team and great service, well done!
- Brady02 (10/5): Excellent stay - Came here for 8 nights away to visit friends always a good place to stay ok it probably needs a coat of paint and refurbishment but doesn’t effect a good nights sleep. No issues apart from reminding staff to clean room on Saturday as it was on the list for cleaning. They did clean the room. They cleaned the room twice as I requested it to. Make sure you put your reg in for the whole stay but if your staying more than 7 nights make sure either select 10 nights or do it again on the 8th Night otherwise you will be charged. I would go again and recommend this place. Also have the meal deal for the on-site beefeater but it is hard what to choose from the menu for 8 nights though.
- R4206SVemmaf (8/5): Comfortable stay, be aware of busy road noise. - Sunday night is a great price booking ahead, staff were friendly and helpful and the room clean, comfortable and in good condition. I arrived earlier than check in (by train) and left my luggage at reception while I walked into Arundel.
As mentioned in other reviews, if you are a light sleeper like me, you will need earplugs due to the constant traffic noise (with the window shut). My room was road facing. I did ask for a quiet room but didn't specify away from the road (it was end of corridor). Had I been staying another night I would have asked to move to the back of the hotel.
- jime9642018 (6/5): Not the best Premier Inn experience. - Room ok but restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Waited 10 minutes at breakfast time , no staff appeared to seat us, so left for somewhere that would serve us.
- 571anth (10/5): Piece of cake - I'm sure I've stayed here before but this time it was more memorable. In particular Emily in the restaurant was extremely welcoming & attentive. I'm sure I will stay again soon & look forward to my next visit.
- BMCT14 (4/5): Hotel okay, restaurant very poor - Firstly let me say that the staff were brilliant. Friendly and professional so this review is not aimed at that them. They coped with our large reservation for dinner admirably.
The hotel is okay although a refurb wouldn’t go amiss.
That only leaves the restaurant and evening dinner. Basic items unavailable, order taken then found out that meal couldn’t be completed. Quantity and quality was a joke, well actually it wasn’t, it was unacceptable. You could count the chips on the plate. My colleague ordered prawn cocktail which came with pieces of cucumber and a slither of lettuce. I assume the remaining part of the single lettuce they must have had made up the minimal salad on another order!
Our colleague arrived at 2020 only to be told the kitchen had closed. Pointless having a meal deal.
On a corporate booking basis we have used this Premier Inn over a number of years, usually five or six times a year. Sadly the evening restaurant service has gone down hill and is nearly at the bottom of the slope.
If you must stay there use the adjacent McDonalds instead !!
- Getaway35339993130 (6/5): Rats, Poor Wi-Fi, and Slow Service - The bed was comfortable, and the room itself was quite spacious. However, I had to ask the staff several times before the room was cleaned, as they didn’t react the first time. The food was okay, nothing special.
The free internet was a joke — you can log in, but then it cuts off and only works in short bursts. On top of that, the hotel asks you to pay for “premium” internet, which should really be free like everywhere else nowadays. Very disappointing.
Outside, the situation is even worse. There is a large bin right at the entrance that is always overflowing, making the place look dirty and unwelcoming. To make matters worse, the area is full of rats. Every time I went out for a smoke, I saw at least one. Just recently, two were fighting right in front of the hotel in the flower beds. I could even hear them squeaking before one ran off. Unfortunately, I couldn’t record it, but it was extremely unpleasant to witness.
- Linlea96 (10/5): Can recommend - I was thinking of cancelling my booking when I read some reviews however glad we didn't. Staff were so friendly and food was much better than we expected
- I3328XXjuliem (4/5): Could do with a good clean and an upgrade!! - I love a premier Inn when I travel in the uk, I find them to be of a consistent standard…this one is an exception. We waited a short while to be checked in, we arrived just before 10pm, we were handed an extra towel which appeared to be clean but had a smell of fried food. We went up to our room which was reasonably clean if a little dated. My husband popped down to the bar (we had been travelling for about 8 hours by this point) although there was a man behind the bar my husband was told the bar was closed and he couldn’t be served….not even a lemonade!
We had a quiet night although the room was rather hot due to poor air conditioning.
Breakfast had clearly been sitting around for a while, all a little dry looking. The dining area had a real problem with fruit flies, many of the sauce bottles were crusty with dried sauce which was attracting the insects.
The tables were sticky to the touch which was rather off putting….the inside of the windows were covered with dirty hand prints.
It served a purpose (an overnight stay from Heathrow to Devon) but it’s not up to usual Premier Inn standards.
- fairfieldw (10/5): Great hotel and staff - A great hotel with great staff, outside needs a good clean or paint, but the staff are very helpful and accommodating and make up for it.
- B5562FVjackiec (4/5): Not good - Disabled room OK, chef could not grill meat chicken or steak no cocktail ingredients constant playing of christmas carols in July until it was mentioned then questioned about my religion. Disabled so no where else to go not easy to cros the A303 with underpass and rough sleepers suggest best option macdonalds next door, I think this is a contractors inn
- C9530OVsuej (4/5): Terrible service - There was three of us in resturant two steak and ale pies with chips and peas and one chicken and ham no peas. What came was one steak and ale with peas and a pie without peas when opening it up it was steak I asked a out it she took it came back she came back 5mins later with the pie I had opened with a spoonful of peas barely cooked and was then told I would have to wait 8 mins for the chicken pie because the ticket machine has made a mistake. Not good enough
- U6726UXlucyc (8/5): Great stay - A lovely warm welcome when I checked in for my 1 night stay. Jessica on reception was very informative and gave me all the information I needed for my stay. The room was fine and food was nice. All staff were friendly and I would definitely rebook if in the area again.
- alisonoakhaven (6/5): Very tired hotel needs an exterior facelift - Very tired outside to hotel. Interior on a par with other premier inns stayed in.
Stay enhanced by staff in the adjoining Beefeater.
- nikkia23 (4/5): Very poor! - We booked into the Premier Inn for a one night stay as we were travelling from Cornwall to Kent. We were due to arrive after 11 p.m. with two small children so I tried to call ahead to advise. When there was no answer on reception, I sent a quick email. Another 4 attempts to call over a 3 hour period I gave up. Arrived just after 11 at night with 2 small children. Still no receptionist so after a 10 minute wait I found a buzzer inside the door. Finally a girl appeared and checked us in...with no apology or warm welcome. The room was the usual standard. Although we had one towel between 4 of us! We booked in for breakfast the next morning. It was quiet so the food had clearly been sat there for hours and everything was shrivelled!!! The restaurant was dirty, no loo roll in 2 out of 3 toilets... just generally a very disappointing stay. Ive stayed in a lot of Premier inns and never felt the need to complain.
- Wanderingprincesshey (2/5): Poor experience at this hotel - Air conditioning in room didn’t work
Bathroom extractor fan didn’t work
Breakfast offerings minimal - not provided with selection advertised and paid for
Generally below par all round - would not stay here again
- P265DJmarkb (8/5): Good, could be better - I enjoyed the accommodation here, as it was conveniently located for my needs, the breakfast was good, although some items were missing for some reason. The chicken & ham pie was nice too, my only gripe, for the love of all that is holy, please switch your cleaning solution, the tables were so sticky after being cleaned with it, it's a horrible feeling when you put your arm on the table and your skin sticks to it.
- debbienL5580WO (2/5): Lovely indoors but be aware of the wildlife outdoors - Stayed 3 nights for BSB at Thruxton.
The staff were lovely although the manager was a bit of a flapper. She was a lovely woman though.
Expecting her to waitress and cover reception meant she had to disappear and our medium rare steak arrived very well done. Young lad in the restaurant, Bradley, who is new to hospitality was very pleasant and helpful. Not his fault as probably hasn't been told but one thing that winds my watch is when he cleared hubby's plates away while I was still only 2 thirds through my meal.
It wasn't particularly busy for meals but a lot of people drinking at the bar. Premier inn know they're going to be busy, so put extra staff on.
Room was spotless. Paid the extra for premier plus so had air con as I know these places are hotter than Lucifers bedroom!
I do have to warn people to look out for the rats when outside. The 2nd night i could see the rats running past the window while we were eating, off to maccies across the road to get a happy meal for the kids! Went for a cigarette in the designated smoking area and had one nearly run across my foot! Not a rat box anywhere.
I'd stay again if they sort the rat issue out. Dont want to watch them running around while I'm eating!
- 85trevorl (8/5): Breakfast was a let down!! - Accommodation excellent but breakfast not good for those with gluten free diets as there was no bread and very little else under continental breakfast.
- Sightsee758859 (10/5): Would use again - Clean comfortable friendly. Enjoyed all you can eat breakfast. Would happily return if in area. Plenty of parking. Located in industrial estate and got confused finding and leaving hotel.
- allan125 (10/5): Perfect location for visiting the area - A perfect location for visiting the area, in our case for the British Superbikes meeting at Thruxton race circuit, literally just down the road (A303)
- KateMoo123 (6/5): Unloved and in need of air con ... - On the plus side, it was a good location, had good parking, comfy beds and was quiet.
However, from the outside the place looks awful, very unloved and unwelcoming. It really needs a lick of paint and lots of TLC. The rooms are ridiculously hot, no air con, a fan was provided but it was both useless and super loud. The windows could only be opened a few inches so you felt trapped. Shame really as Premier Inns are generally reliable, but I would not stay here again if there's a chance the weather's going to be hot!
- paulkA152HS (6/5): Friendly helpful staff. Hotel needs a refresh. - The staff were friendly,welcoming & helpful.
Plenty of parking available.
Bed was comfortable.
Hotel looks tired & needs refurbishing.
Hotel was clean apart from behind the radiator in the dining room.
Food was ok but items were unavailable on the evening menu & food at breakfast was slow to be replenished.
No mini fridge or safe available in room.
- K7026TPalexd (2/5): Very disappointing - I was very disappointed with our experience of this hotel. The room was extremely hot, the building was in need of investment and the service provided by the Premier Inn Guest Relations Team was terrible. I recommend looking for another hotel in the area.
- K510DZdianel (10/5): Favourite Premier Inn, despite the way it looks from the outside - I stay here whenever it's available for various work related stays. This is one of my favourite Premier inns despite the appalling lack of outside maintenance by Whitbread. But get beyond the outside, and you will find wonderful staff, clean rooms, super housekeeping etc. It is a shame that the 'Big' company can't do anything about first impressions and the terrible outside appearance of this building. Shame on Whitbread! But hooray to the amazing staff who keep this running so well.
- Go51566244081 (10/5): Great stay for wedding. - Had a wedding last weekend, although rooms were hot, had fans in room and sheets if we wanted them. Our rooms had a bottle of wine and chocolates, very much appreciated. Breakfast was good, busy but staff seemed to handle it well. Great staff in hotel.
- Y8313YVsianh (2/5): Don’t stay - Booked weeks in advance to secure a disabiled access room ,I even called them to explain and check I need room suitable and was assured room was right next to reception.
The Room I was given wasn’t the member of staff was rude and was rolling her eyes . Nothing was done not even an apology. I couldn’t acces the bathroom and only just made it through the hotel room door . I’ve been staying at premiers in for as long as there have been premier inns but i would never stay again. Disabled people are just as important as everyone else and to the condescending member of staff who did nothing to help its my legs that don’t work madam not my Brain . Dreadful
- D5622RQlindsayk (4/5): Bed bugs....... beware - Filthy,dirty hole.
Went to stay on 25/06/2025.
Arrived at 18.00. Went to room and the bed was crawling with bed bugs. I have a video to prove it. Went back to reception only to be told that we would have to move hotel as there was no rooms available. I had travelled 250 miles to go and have A meal with my granddaughter the night before her wedding. I missed the meal as I had to travel to another hotel. Ive been offered £43 compensation which just isn't good enough.
- christopherr990 (2/5): Appalling - Avoid ! - A very tired Premier Inn. Whilst the room was acceptable the Beefeater next door - in which we had breakfast was not. Dirty and sticky surface on all the tables, uncleared plates and crockery, a breakfast buffet that had very little on it at the time of our visit. The Premier Inn building was surrounded by overgrown gardens full of weeds and the building itself needed a thorough repainting.
Appalling, disgusting and filthy. On our 2nd morning we opted to have breakfast elsewhere in a pleasant cafe in Arundel.
- normantalktalk (8/5): Once again, a great stay - I am a great ambassador for Premier Inns as we stay in many travelling round the UK during our retirement adventure. Arriving was a disappointment as the car park is totally disgusting. Full of rubbish and dog ends, needing a good sweep and a good gardener to make something of the nice grounds around. Not the one of the usual Inns that we love. We decided to still give it a try. Glad we did. As soon as we walked into the building it became the Premier Inns that we enjoy.
Reception was by a lovely lady who went through the formalities quickly. Even offered help, if we needed it, for the cases as the room was upstairs in the quiet area. Nice thought for us oldies.
Lovely room but that was expected, Comfy bed with extra pillows, which we need. TV, which we never watch. Tea/Coffee making facility with extra bags etc in reception. Perfect in all ways for our two night stay. Didn’t need a clean etc for that stay and the room was so clean when we arrived.
Only disappointment was the Meal Deal but that is more a Beefeater problem. Although as both are Whitbead I am annoyed in that I still await a refund on the Two breakfast meal deals that I cancelled due to a cold breakfast on the first morning.
- Brady02 (10/5): Excellent week stay - Another great week stay at Arundel premier inn comfortable beds. Stayed in a wheelchair access room due to no standard room but didn’t bother me. Staff been amazing cleaned the room once when I’ve asked them too. This time you have to put in your registration number for parking which isn’t a problem. Not a good signal if you are with o2.
- deeblackman71 (6/5): Ok for one night - Looks tired from outside and inside. Cracks on bathroom sink and remit for tv didn’t work very well. Had the dinner/breakfast deal - Breakfast comes without toast but have to guess when cooked breakfast comes out to make the toast yourself so that it’s hot. Also took a long time from ordering for cooked breakfast to arrive. Plenty of choice and staff very friendly. For the price paid was not a cheap hotel to stay in and would find somewhere else to stay if I visited again.
- Wanderer32490434974 (10/5): Lovely stay - The staff made a special effort for families which we really appreciated. They were also flexible about breakfast slots which made a big difference to us that day. Comfortable and clean rooms, and lovely beefeater on site with great service.
- Moth1605 (6/5): Disappointing for more than one reason - I've stayed in Premier Inn hotels before and was looking forward to staying in this one but unfortunately it was rather disappointing.
My room, which was on the ground floor, had a dreadful musty smell, like it hadn't been used for a while. The smell was at times overpowering. The receptionist apologised and said it was because of the drains.
Also, the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night. I mentioned this to the receptionist the next morning, as did another guest who was there, and she explained that the smoke alarm was very sensitive and may have been set off by someone showering with the bathroom door open. Unfortunately the noise disturbed my sleep and I only slept fitfully after that, waking up feeling drained and exhausted. Not what I was expecting, especially as I had a busy day ahead.
The staff at the hotel were very pleasant, but otherwise my stay at the hotel was not a good experience and I'll be avoiding it in future.
- welshlass47 (4/5): OK visit - Beds are comfortable and staff lovely however like most Premier Inns these days need refurbishments, painting, decorating, new carpets as looking very old and tired. The outside of hotel also needs cleaning and painting.
I have visited twice now through business however will be booking bed and breakfast next time as works out cheaper with better facilities.
