Guest Reviews
- S3897YGandrewg (10/5): Amazing stay - The staff where amazing friendly very welcoming and went above and beyond would highly recommend to stay here clean tidy and room very high standard
- W5605QXelizabethp (10/5): Great hotel, friendly, helpful staff and a good location - What a lovely hotel. Everyone was very helpful( nothing was too much bother). The check in was quick and efficient, the room very clean, shower great and the bed sooo comfy. There was plenty of choice at both the breakfast buffet and with the evening menu. The hotel is only a short walk into town to the shops and the theatre ( we came to go to the panto).
All in all a great stay. Thank you everyone. We will be back.
- N5020VFtd (10/5): Great Stay, made even better by Matthew and colleagues! - Very enjoyable stay, made even better by very welcoming staff. Particular mention must go to Matthew, who somehow managed to serve 30 restaurant customers entirely on his on his own, whilst remaining calm, efficient and charming to all the guests in the restaurant. This gentleman's skills and potential need to recognised by Premier Inn, as he needs to be fast tracked onto the management training program. We were told that the hotel will shortly be extended and look forward to a return visit on 2026.
- dibble24 (6/5): In need of a refit. - No longer a Chef and Brewer pub, just a dining area now for hotel patrons. Food OK but limited menu. Hotel room was clean but in need of a upgrade. Room smelt fausty due to poor ventilation. Windows couldn't be opened and vents above the windows seemed blocked. Only air circulation was when you opened the room door. Tap to turn on shower/bath was faulty in our room, turning on but not off, requiring the receptionist to have to attend with a wrench each morning. Not ideal. Positives...staff were very helpful, cheap, good for exploring New Forest and coast. If we stayed again would be for price only.
- R4697ZFjulies (10/5): Friendly staff, good location. - Lovely stay. We have stayed in a few Premier Inns recently and appreciaye that they are budget hotels. However the staff made it more memorable than the others. Matthew, Reece and Mark showed customer service at its best. Very helpful and friendly.
- deniseV7415XZ (10/5): New forest 2025 - This is one of the best Premier inns we have stayed in. Attentive staff and nothing was too much trouble. Just a lovely place to stay
- Sunwatcher3 (2/5): Lovely Hotel, Disgraceful Reception Service - Despite the hotel being truly beautiful, our arrival experience was shockingly unprofessional. We reached the hotel around 10:30–11:00 PM after an eight-hour drive, only to be met with two receptionists whose behavior was dismissive, irritated, and openly confrontational.
The blonde receptionist did not greet us, avoided any eye contact, and walked away to the back office without acknowledging us. When I asked politely for check-in assistance, she responded with:
“I need to finish my work. If you’re tired, that’s your problem.”
There were no other guests, yet we were deliberately kept waiting 15–20 minutes, during which the second receptionist also sided with her colleague and raised her voice at us, insisting that arriving at this hour was “our responsibility” and not their concern.
Afterward, we were given a noticeably worse room and told again, in a dismissive tone, that arriving late was “our problem.”
The hotel itself is impressive, but the attitude and conduct of the reception staff completely overshadowed what could have been a wonderful stay. A hotel of this quality deserves front-desk staff who meet its standards.
- 879ikya (10/5): Great customer Service provided from moment i came into hotel - Matthew offered a great service from moment i checked in helped me with local knowledge and also arranged a taxi for my morning trip great atmosphere off the hotel and also rooms are clean and no issues staff very helpfull. Keep up the great work Matthew.
- O5835CVnicolal (10/5): A very enjoyable stay! - I thought the location was great. The atmosphere from the staff (particularly Matthew, Kiera and Mark) made it a friendly place to stay. My room was clean and very comfortable and my three day stay was good value. A very lovely start to the day was to enjoy a full breakfast.
- F2563FPchristianw (10/5): Great location, good price, excellent staff - Excellent staff! Charlene and her team offer an outstanding service, whether it’s 2pm or 2am, they were always super helpful. Domi, especially, was a delight to deal with; service with a massive smile and always went the extra mile to help when possible! Honourable mentions to Reece, Grace and Luke.
Ended up staying there for three months, whilst working away from home, and having great staff at the hotel really made the difference in terms of an enjoyable stay.
Was in 6 or so different rooms during my stay, both Double and Plus rooms. They were all the standard comfy Premier Inn beds in well lit rooms, with clean bathrooms; you know what you’re getting every time with a Premier Inn. Breakfast was good, dinners were fine, again standard Premier Inn menu. Staff were always accommodating when I had awkward shifts and would prep and store my dinner until I got back.
If I were in the area again I would definitely stay here again.
- D2883MRdavidh (4/5): Not exactly a hotel experience - While the hotel itself was OK apparently at weekends it's used as a homeless shelter..I'm all for helping the homeless but when your paying full price for a hotel and you end up with people useing it as basicly a drop In center I don't think it's very good.
- elainesG3684SP (10/5): Really kind and helpful staff - We stayed for a night with our three year old, we arrived around 8pm, the person at check in was very friendly and it was easy to get to our room. We had lots of space and the room was clean and tidy. The TV was a good size and there was a mirror for makeup/getting ready.
We had pre booked breakfast and was greeted by Matthew who was really accommodating to our needs and checked we were happy and communicated throughout, he also even gave us some recommendations for the area, his colleague Oliver took our order and was also friendly and helpful. Ben the Chef had some trouble with the gas in the kitchen but managed to quickly resolve the issue and made a lovely cooked breakfast for us all.
We really enjoyed our brief stay here and would be happy to book again if we were to visit the area and would highly recommend.
- C2609RMphoebec (10/5): Great stay! - Excellent stay at Premier Inn Maidstone Town Centre! The hotel is in a great location, rooms are comfortable and spotless, and the staff are fantastic. Luke on reception was especially welcoming and helpful , he really made us feel at home. Would happily return!
- Navigator22865479923 (10/5): Excellent service everywhere - Matthew, Kiera and Mark were helpful from the start of my stay. I was with a walking group and nothing was too much effort. From helping with luggage to bar service and excellent breakfast I could not fault
- E2080VLstephenp (10/5): Good facilities, fantastic staff! - We rolled up at this hotel at a quarter to nine on a November evening, after a tortuous drive from South Wales.
Admittedly, the place IS a bit hard to find! When we arrived, tired and hungry, we received a warm welcome from Olly on reception, but it was accompanied by the unwelcome news that the restaurant had stopped serving food a few minutes earlier.
My wife went into the restaurant and threw herself on the mercy of the wonderful Reece, who sat us down and provided toast, butter, marmalade and peanut butter to sustain us. He was clearly closing up for the night, but insisted we take as long as we needed. In fact Mark, the chef, did say that he would have found us something to eat by way of a dessert, but my wife is lactose intolerant, and there was nothing suitable for her. Nevertheless we appreciated this kind gesture.
A comfortable bed, a room with a bath and a good night’s sleep revived us, and in the morning Matthew served us a very good cooked breakfast, made to order in the adjoining Beefeater Restaurant by the chef. Matthew’s courtesy and friendly, helpful manner were much appreciated.
This Premier Inn is a good stopping-off point en route to Southampton. It has a large, well-lit car park which is free to use. The courtesy and kindness of the excellent staff who run the place will be long remembered. And we will certainly come back next time we’re in the area.
- CarolDavid (10/5): A great stopover. - I arrived at the hotel on my home whilst travelling through the New Forest. I didn't book before I turned up. For some unknown reason, its cheaper to book on line than in person. I stood at reception and booked my room on line. Weird. The receptionist was so lovely, but I failed to take her name. sorry. I booked the premier plus room and they were on the first floor, so the receptionist helped me take my suitcase up the stairs as theres no lifts. There are rooms on the ground floor.
You know what you're getting with Premier Plus rooms. It was a lovely big room. The bed was very firm.
I paid for breakfast and I picked 8 am. You have your meals in the Bell Inn at the front of the building. A friendly staff member greated me. I saw the receptionist I'd met the day before and was very chatty. Theres a continental choice and you can choose from the menu for a cooked breakfast and its served to you. It was very nice.
This Premier Inn is small and is In a beautiful area. I would definately consider staying here again.
- Fifitrix62 (10/5): Excellent staff - We stayed overseas on the way to the Isle of Wight and we're so impressed with the staff. From the moment we arrived they were friendly, helpful and professional. The hotel is a little tired but spotlessly clean, and the food was good. We would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
- traceywI1596EC (8/5): Weekend away - The hotel itself was ‘tired’, but all the staff were lovely and extremely helpful. Had an issue with the room but was swiftly resolved.
- begishem2024 (10/5): Great experience and disability friendly - accommodating to disability and understand of SEN needs and wheelchair friendly incredible that they had a makaton / sign language symbol of Thankyou on their children activity menu at tea time my son was very excited to see it and he started signing thankyou lovely food in resteraunt. Helpful staff Charlene made some great adjustments and gave good tips and advice and Dominika and Recce (i think his name was) done brilliant in resteraunt and always really helpful and welcoming. As family have recently moved near the area were looking for a base to stay when we visit and this will definitely be our choice every time .
- GDC186338 (8/5): Great stay for a few days, although limited menu - Hotel informed us that renovations were due.
The staff were exceptional especially Matthew ,Mark, Ollie Reece and the girls as was the cooked breakfast. The meal deal was great and the curry we had for our evening meal was delicious but Very limited choice on the menus .
Be kind to the staff as not their fault and should not be put in that position.
Will be a nice place when the refurbishment is done as a good base for people visiting the area. Bonus - plenty of parking
- nicklQ9405WJ (8/5): Comfortable hotel but make sure you take your own water! - Good value comfortable room and clean spacious bathroom.
The breakfast choices were excellent, option to have food in the hotel in the evening and nice bar area.
Service generally good, but when checking out the receptionist refused to let us refill our water bottles, stating the tap water was not to take out!
- Cruiser45249196837 (6/5): Nice Premier Plus room, shame about parking and breakfast - Premier Plus Room on 3rd floor, room was excellent no issues at all, however parking was a disgrace, extremely pricey, almost extortionate, even with the Premier Inn discount it cost us over £18 for one nights stay, this needs to be factored in to the overall cost of the room whilst staying at this hotel.
Our breakfast was okay, nothing overly impressive, had to play a game of hunt the semi skimmed milk around the restaurant to put on our cereal as Premier Inn believe that people only want full fat milk on cereal.
This could so easily be a 4 or 5 star location, easy access to Maidstone town centre, train stations and the river for a evening or morning stroll but it was let down by crazy parking costs and lack of attention to detail at breakfast.
If I stay again I'll probably use McDonalds for breakfast, much cheaper and probably more appetising.
- laurenb324 (10/5): Excellent value for money - Great value for money. Hotel is a bit old and tired but you can’t fault it for the price. Everything was spotlessly clean and the staff were all helpful/ attentive. Matthew in particular at breakfast was super friendly!
Location is good too but you definitely need a car. Not much within walking distance.
- 215vincer (10/5): Very well looked after - Extremely friendly experience, from Ollie’s warm welcome on reception to Matthew’s polite and attentive service in the restaurant, a very pleasant stay. Food was nice, restaurant needs a refurb, but the staff are exceptional.
- Sunshine03725078788 (10/5): Lovely stay - Stayed for 2 nights for a famiky event in premier plus room. Room was spacious, clean and had everything I needed. Lots of parking on site.
All staff were friendly and helpful However special mention to Matthew who was absolutely amazing. He was happy, thoughful, knowledgeable and absolutely went out of his way to help in any way he could - a credit to the hotel.
- Renewongy (4/5): Disappointing - Premier plus room bathroom grubby peeling paint no bath towels no pillowcases on spare pillows the outside looks awful definitely not inviting would not stay again unless an update has happened we have stayed at lots of premier inns and this does not live up to the premier inn you expect
- anthonycO5655SN (10/5): A very comfortable stay - We stayed the night before sailing to the Isle of Wight and again on our return before the long drive home. When first arriving in the car park do not be put off by the exterior appearance !! There is a renovation planned for the adjoining pub. The hotel reception and the hotel side are spotlessly clean. What makes it an even more enjoyable experience is the welcoming friendly attitude of the staff. Zoe on reception checked us in and booked our stay for the following week. She was efficient and we felt as if we had known her for years. We used room 6 which is an accessible room with wet room. Again, spotless, although the main room light could do with being brighter!
We experienced no noise at all. Breakfast Monday to Friday is 0630 - 1030am - perfect for a leisurely start. The evening menu is currently very limited, but Zoe told us that a more extensive menu is being introduced next Tuesday (October 14th). She recommended a Beefeater about 15 minutes away, which is attached to the Christchurch Premier Inn. On the subject of food, Ben cooked the most delicious full English with a wide choice of items. Similarly, for those that like a continental, you wont be disappointed! Matthew chatted to us during our first stay. Nothing was too much trouble.
When we returned this week, Emma was in attendance during breakfast, taking orders etc. Again, really nice to chat to and genuinely interested in the guests.
Value for money? - Yes, absolutely. Its located conveniently to the New Forest and Lymington Ferry port.
My wife and I cannot speak highly enough of Zoe, Matthew, Emma and Ben. The nicest, friendliest Premier Inn staff we have ever encountered and we have stayed in many over the years. Thankyou to you all for making our stay so comfortable and ensuring we had everything we required. We will definitely return
- lucylou2675 (10/5): Another great stay in Maidstone - I always stay at this hotel when I'm visiting my family in Maidstone .
On all occasions I've found my stays to be pleasant and comfortable for my needs .
The staff work exceptionally hard and nothing is too much trouble if you need anything , Breakfast is really good value with good veriety , also caters for vegan and people with allergies , soya milk always available just ask , if you want to take to your room for a cuppa .
Ive Stayed in a few different rooms , this visit was room 2 on the ground floor , it was perfect .. walk in shower and everything you would expect froThe Premier Inn and always immaculately clean .
Special mention to Reece Dominca and Luke for looking after me .
Charlene the manager is always very welcoming and has some great people working for her .
Thanks for another great stay .
See you in the Spring
Lucy Cassin
- janeaG5077BT (10/5): Thank you - Thank you Matthew, Dan and Ollie for a lovely stay. Very welcoming. Despite a limited menu due to refurbishments, we had a nice meal . Good fish and chips.
- olliep632 (10/5): Business - The staff there was really helpful and polite
Will definitely be staying there again
Such a good location right next to the stations and busses
- DavlynSurrey (2/5): Do not stay here! - Stayed 22nd September- 26th September. On arriving at the hotel it looked derelict from the outside. We had travelled quite a way and decided to have a drink in the attached restaurant and bar. What a shock, the bar area was completely empty excepting two small tables for two. When we asked the staff what was happening, we were told there was to be a complete refurbishment although the staff said the restaurant and and bar had been like this for a year with no sign of work!,
We had booked dinner that evening and the menu was very reduced, only food from the freezer, no fresh vegetables etc. Hardly any one was eating there. We have been to many Premier Inn before and we have never experienced any like this before. We always enjoy using the attached restaurants normally to save having to go out after a days sightseeing. Continental breakfast was poor at times, with missing items.
If only we had been told when booking, about the situation, we would never have booked here!
The only thing that made our stay more enjoyable was the staff who were absolutely amazing! Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were constantly having to deal with complaints. Well done to
Matthew, Zoe, Ollie, Emma, Mark and Dan! Premier Inn are lucky to have you all keeping things going! Fantastic team!
- DarrenA592 (8/5): Pleasant quiet stay - i booked a room here for 1 night as i was meeting a friend in town for food then seeing a show in the evening at the hazlitt theatre.Upon arrival there was a bit of a delay in checking in as i was told my room wasnt ready. It said i could check in from 3pm and thats when i arrived receptionist apologised but i wasnt in any rush so it didnt really matter i had to wait about 15 minutes but was then checked in.My room was on the 3rd floor there are lifts and stairs my room was spotlessly clean and i was at the end of a corridor. So went out for the evening and returned just after midnight there was no noise from anyone and i had a lovely nights sleep and the bed was super comfy will stay again if in the area.
- karinalZ1578IL (6/5): Comfortable room, poor service. - Room was very clean and very comfortable, but don’t expect much from the restaurant if on a business visit, and especially avoid if you’re visiting socially. Don’t waste your money there. For 6 nights a work group of us needed dinner and due to this, we were offered to pre order to have at 8pm each night. Only twice did the food come out around 8. Every other night we were still waiting an hour, with no apologies. We even had to ask where our food was! One night they ran out of cheese and openly admitted they’d used the plastic cheese as a substitute. Half of the staff were really trying their best to keep up, despite the restaurant being 3/4 empty, and the other half really didn’t care how bad the service was. Even our drinks couldn’t be made ready for 8pm. Working 11 hour days, we were all exhausted and starving, just not acceptable when the pre order offer was made. We were also aware other customers were waiting over an hour for their food. It wasn’t gourmet dinners, why on earth was it taking so long! Just such a shame when the hotel itself is a pleasant stay. The car park is also daylight robbery, so avoid if you don’t have a business paying for it!
- danielsR4080MB (10/5): Fantastic Experience - Have to say, the staff at Maidstone were extremely helping and went way over the call of duty. Thank you for my Premier Inn Merchandise.
- philparker2025 (6/5): Lovely hotel. Not enough staff. - Hotel is comfortable, and the facilities are good.
BUT - there weren't enough staff on. The electronic check-in was broken, so the two people working were chasing their tails trying to run the bar, retaurant and check-in. They did their best (the staff were all really good) but "Premier" Inn simply don't put enough people on a shift.
Handy hint - if you want a drink, and the hotel bar is out (soft drinks, draught beers etc. unavailable) then there is an excellent pub 3 minutes walk away in the old brewery.
- Storyteller483079 (10/5): Great stay - I worked in the building many years ago when it was an office and was very interested to stay there. Unrecognisable of course. The check in process was a bit of a bun fight as they were strict about 3pm check in. My premier room on the 3rd floor was very very quiet, the lifts always available and the free wifi with the room excellent. Good bathroom and air con responsive.
- 462marciab (10/5): A great stay - First time staying here and it was enjoyable the rooms were very good, clean and apart from a whirring sound which i couldn't find out what it was, I had some decent sleep, staff very helpful and accommodating to any queries.
- ayorindee2025 (10/5): Wonderful stay - I had a lovely stay, the room was spotless.
Esther really made me feel at home, offering my extra towels for my children. Thank you
- Trail64206708963 (10/5): Lovely hotel - Lovely hotel good service very friendly helpfully staff would recommend to friends and family . Will definitely be staying again
- F9909WKalanm (6/5): A difficult stay. - A conveniently located hotel for the town centre but if you're a wheelchair user venturing out any further you cannot book a suitable taxi by phone, anywhere in Maidstone.
Staff were friendly and food in the hotel was good.
- tomwS4639GT (10/5): Consistently Excellent - I’ve been staying here for a while whilst working away. Without fail the service is great, everyone is always really attentive and work hard to make sure everything is of a great standard.
I believe the hotel was refurbished not so long ago and you can really tell. It’s very quiet, rooms are very modern with the added bonus of great air con! Premier Plus rooms are really great and I always try to book one for the added touches of a fridge, coffee machine, iron & ironing board.
I’ll be staying for a while yet and thanks to the great team, I won’t be looking anywhere else. Great work Charlene, Paola, Angela, Dominika, Crystal, Richard, Reece and Aidan 😊
- Snoozie7 (10/5): We were very warmly welcomed by Richard. The beds as always were very comfortable and we had access to extra pillows. - Great place to stay. Conveniently situated near our son’s. The beds are comfortable and everything is spotlessly clean and fresh. The only problem we had was the people in the room next door were extremely noisy talking at the tops of their voices and laughing loudly until after 1:30am, but the situation was dealt with by the gentleman on night duty.
- A9515CFlisap (8/5): Far superior to any British premier inn - We stayed as a family for a couple of nights in August 2024.
It was a short easy walk from Lubeck train station and we were able to leave our luggage as we were too early for our room to be ready.
We were welcomed and then went downstairs to use the toilets. The "main stair" area was pretty extravagant for a premier inn and we were immediately very impressed.
This level also has direct access to the car park and a bicycle store.
It was about 5 mins walk into the main Lubeck town centre which was stunning.
We returned later and checked into our room and we're very impressed.
We had lovely views of lubeck and also a large door to open wide (with glass to stop us falling out). Something which I don't think would ever be allowed in England but which we loved.
The free WiFi was excellent.
The whole room / hotel was absolutely spotless.... "Clinically clean". Probably the cleanest hotel bathroom I've ever stayed in and way more luxurious and cleaner than any British premier inn
The bath(shower) room was spacious and the rain shower was so high that even the tallest person could comfortably stand under it.
The continental breakfast was excellent and great value with different choices to British (understandably as we were in Germany) but it still included sausage eggs and beans as well as an extensive "continental" selection, including breakfast cereals a large selection of teas and oat milk. Again ... The breakfast was significantly better than British premier inn breakfast.
The reason I only gave the hotel very good rather than excellent was because our air conditioning was not working properly. We reported it 3 times and someone tried to fix it and apparently reset it but it still didn't work effectively and we couldn't get the room below 28c which made for an uncomfortable night's sleep .
I would never have booked a room without air conditioning in August.
Other wise this was by far the best, most luxurious premier inn we have ever stayed in (we must have stayed in 30+ premier inns in England) and I'd highly recommend staying here and eating breakfast here if visiting Lubeck
- Matt84London (8/5): Great location and good value for money - We stayed at the Premier Inn Luebeck City for two nights during our trip to Germany. The hotel is located a 5 minutes walking distance from Holsten Tor – the entry point to Luebeck’s old town.
For our two night stay we booked a slightly larger room “Premier Plus” which was located on the third floor featuring also a capsule coffee maker, complimentary water, ironing board & iron and a mini fridge. The hotel is certainly new and the room as well as communal areas felt still very fresh with no sign of any wear and tear on the interior. The room and bathroom were also very clean.
Check-in and check-out was very quick and hotel staff has been very friendly. The hotel also features a parking garage with a limit amount of parking spaces. The parking costs are EUR 15/night.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would certainly recommend this property.
- SoerenHaack (10/5): Great weekend stay with family - We went for Lübeck for a weekend stay and stayed at Premier Inn in Luebeck. The hotel is really great: nice and clean rooms, nice breakfast and really friendly and serviceminded hotel crew. The hotel is located very close the the historical gate to the city. I can highly recommend a stay at this hotel.
- 558andyb558 (10/5): Family visit, 3 rooms booked. Everyone happy! - Very new, very clean hotel. We were very happy with our choice. The staff speak English and were very welcoming. Breakfast was €16.90 which was buffet and was good value in my view. Plenty of choice, from sausages, scrambled eggs, continental breakfast I.e. cheese and meats, cereals etc. unlimited coffee and juices, very nice.
I would also recommend the hotel for its location, just outside the old city and adjacent to the train station by a short walk. We would definitely stop here again.
- Okmyx (8/5): Simple and reliable. Slow internet. - Modern hotel with basic room as expected. Friendly staff. Approximately 10 minute walk from old city, train station, restaurants, etc. Simple and reliable. Very slow internet. Did not have the overpriced breakfast. No safe or closet in room.
- culturevulture80 (10/5): Everything was Great - Location superb when coming from the Bahnhof. Close enough to easily walk there and yet also walkable to the city.
Epically good soundproofing both in the outdoor windows and internal noises.
Simple and highly functional layout.
Very clean and as it is relatively new, everything was in great working order.
Hairdryer next to large, well lit make up mirror was superb.
Simple but nice toiletaries provided. Fluffy towels, comfortable bed tea and coffee making facilities. Good price.
Carlos on the front desk was fabulous.
- mariomX7194HX (10/5): Very nice place to stay - Really good and nice hotel near the old city center. Modern, clean and quiet. The staff is very nice, especially Karmen who made sure to make our stay something extra. Knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful. We felt really welcome, whether it was about giving tips on the nearest road or about a good German beer. Thank you once again for a pleasant stay at the Premier Inn.
- BrakiWorldTraveler (8/5): Excellent value and brand new - Hotel is located just outside Altstadt (old Town), some 7-8 min walk to it.
It seems being a brand new hotel, everything looks and smells new.
Check in was fast, rooms very modern and spacious enough with comfy beds.
Very good breakfast and kind staff.
Reasons I deduct one star which can easily be improved:
- no wardrobe closet in the room, but few hangers,
- no mini fridge or mini bar in the room.
Anyway, it's a great option when visiting Lubeck in terms of price/location/quality.
- R6453HXjamesw (10/5): Great stay at Premier Inn - The staff were really friendly and helpful. Lisa, Caroline, Dalya and Karmen. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was good. Had a lovely stay. They helped with my fathers wheelchair. They gave us maps, tips for restaurants etc
