Guest Reviews
- keithc937 (6/5): Just ok - Hotel was easy enough to find, we booked a room to go to a social even with a lot of friends, room was ok, food was acceptable, checking is was quite poor we got no information from the staff member, no direction or information so that did let it down a bit. Nothing really shined apart from how much more welcoming the cleaning staff were compared to the staff member we checked in with. Overall it was just ok
- T95NZrachelt (10/5): Comfy and value for money - Kidlington airport premier inn. A Comfy, warm, quiet and reasonable stay that we visit when we go to see our daughter and family.
- P9089UUdavidb (10/5): Excellent place to stay - Lovely place to stay everything wad Lovely and clean and comfortable.
Having Beefeater in the same building was a bonus.
- markpW2234ZH (6/5): Comfortable bed but........... - Bed and sheets were good, booking and check-in worked ok.
there was a toenail in there corner of the bed room next to the bed and the wash basin was dirty. There was no bog brush !
- katemE2161RM (2/5): Don't eat the Premier Inn Restaurant if you have allergies as the staff is not keeping track or ensuring customer safety - The staff was polite at the hotel and Premier Inn Restaurant (at this hotel beefeater), but unfortunately the restaurant served me something laced with allergen. When I went to the restaurant they asked me if I have allergies and I said yes to shellfish that includes crab and prawns. I am not even sure if they entered it into their system or made a note of it. We ordered beer battered fish and chips and a pesto sea bass fillet. They served it and gave no indication that it was an allergy risk or came into contact with shellfish or was cooked on the same surface or they didn't have any controls in the kitchen to ensure safety. Instead they just served it to us. I started eating the seabass fillet and two bites in I started coughing and though it started with a tickle in the throat and a slight cough and I kept eating and then it was just getting worse and worse, I stopped eating and I just ended up getting full blown asthma attack. Good thing I had my two puffers on hand, I took the ventolin several puffs, the symbicort puffer several puffs, I took 20mg antihistamine. During that time they asked if I was alright and said was ok even though I was still having issues - they offered lemonade and I drank that and we both left. I had to have another antihistamine before I could go to bed and obviously wasn't a good night. Also, I had to stay on top the asthma medication for the next week, with the puffers and the antihistamines and I was only in oxford for 3 days. It was not a good experience and could have been more dangerous if they had served that to someone that requires and epipen. It was the worst allergic reaction to shellfish that i have had to date. I complained via the portal on their website and haven't heard anything back at all yet. Don't stay/eat here if you have a food allergy!!!!!!
- Fearless04580912181 (10/5): Enjoyable stay at Oldham central - The hotel is really nice and friendly. Very clean. Had a really peaceful and enjoyable night. Last check out, meant I could have hour extra in bed. Breakfast was excellent, plentiful and good value.
Staff are really friendly and helpful. A particular thanks to Chris, who even after I had gone home, when I rang up with an issue was only to glad to help.
- Seaside53630752433 (10/5): Friendly staff, warm and welcoming - Wonderful staff
Chanel and Rowan were so attentive and friendly,
The receptionist was welcoming and accommodating to my needs
- TheWellbeingGamer (10/5): Decent stay - We were very happy with our one night here. Premier inn delivered exactly what we expected.
The staff on the front desk also friendly and courteous. I would happily stay again.
- williamsB8048WO (10/5): Overnight stay - We came down for a show in Oxford and decided to stay in the premier inn in Oxford, Kidlington. Rooms were great and the breakfast was amazing. Rekha, who was on the front of house was very polite and chatty, she is a great asset to your company!
- stevenwO7014GC (6/5): Dissapointed - Been going to this hotel for years. Unfortunately they have decided to bring the restaurant in house. It's very small with very limited options for beers. Can't say what the food was like apart from the breakfast in the morning that was buffet. They need better heat lamps as the breakfast was luke warm.
Room was great but restaurant is very poor.
- Flyer41081447788 (10/5): Very clean and tidy hotel, good service. - recently stayed at the Premier Inn Oxford Kidlington and was really impressed. The whole place was spotless — the rooms were fresh, tidy, and clearly well looked after. It felt comfortable from the moment I walked in. I especially want to mention Rekha at reception, who was so welcoming and friendly. She made the check-in process really easy and smooth, taking the time to help with everything I needed. It’s always nice to be greeted with a smile after a long journey, and she really set the tone for a great stay. Overall, a clean, comfortable hotel with excellent service — I’d definitely stay again.
- TiredTrotter (10/5): Great staff attitude - It’s not that this is a fantastic hotel - it’s a humble Premier Inn after all… But I think the excellent staff attitude here deserves full credit. Arriving late after a long day, I inquired about food but the duty manager (sorry that I don’t have his name) said the kitchen would now be closed. Fair enough - it was late. Yet he saw to it that they could rustle up a pizza for me, which I hugely appreciated. The guy cared about his guests. Other staff seemed equally eager to please, and it made the difference to me. The hotel itself is clean and tidy though being a PI it’s a fairly basic spec, of course. Still, the location is quiet and there’s plenty of parking. A bar and restaurant on site open til about 1030pm. There’s not much that’s walkable in the immediate vicinity, and I found locating it by road quite complicated, despite being only yards from a major dual carriageway. Once you’ve figured out how to approach it though, this is a good budget hotel with a great welcome.
- Explorer28106007510 (4/5): Good for short stay - I went for a last minute stay as it was a wedding nearby needed a change of clothes stayed one night. I left my phone chargers behind i called 3x yet no response i feel the servics is very poor outside is building works no mention of it when i was making tge booking untill i paid than i get an email saying under construction that was too late as rooms were paid for non refundable.
- Fionamusgrave (10/5): Good experience - Nothing was too much trouble, iron and ironing board brought to the room. Made space available in the restaurant for six of us to eat together. Food was excellent, hot and served well. Overall a good experience. P, Chanel and George were all friendly and helpful.
- mad-sammy-cat (2/5): Overcharged for meal deals - I am trying to speak to someone regarding being over charged this weekend. I asked the receptionist to add 2 meal deals for our 1st night and realised shortly after that the system had booked 4!! The receptionist showed me her screen which was correct but when she brought the bill up it was wrong. She assured me it would be sorted but it hasn't. I have tried contacting the hotel but nobody answered the phone. This is incredibly frustrating as the rest of our stay was really good but this stress had done it for me
- JosieA121 (10/5): Helpful - Rekha was particularly helpful when we arrived late and tired. She was helpful with booking breakfast for myself and my family. Thanks, it makes a difference.
- Z4091EVjosephz (10/5): Great stay, easy stay - had a lovely time at Premier Inn Central, very cosy.
construction next door did not bother us.
Evening drinks are superb, we were tired to go out for drinks, had some bottles of drinks, and it was very easy.
- S-j-English10 (10/5): First class customer service - We had made a mistake with our online booking and it had not gone through and we did not realise until we arrived to check in. Caroline and her colleague went over and above to help us sort this and to ensure we could still stay at the hotel. First class customer service from both, thank you!
- J9495UTpaulk (2/5): Blood on both pillows - Spots of blood on both pillows. Completely unacceptable . Managed to find replacement pillows but I’d already put my head on existing pillows
- L671UGjames (2/5): Not the best experience. - The internal air ventilation system created a constant and annoying low humming noise which kept me awake for the best of the night. After discussion with receptionist the next morning, He disconnected the system via a switch hidden in the ceiling.
I could forgive and ignore the incident were it not for the fact that I received a parking fine a week later for parking at the hotel. I'm presently appealing this.. All in all, not a good experience for me.
- 611muradk (2/5): No customer service at all - Not returning staff were very rude and started huffing and puffing anytime I asked for assistance with anything. Felt like I was being laughed at and spoken about as well.
- mariecP7 (8/5): Good 👍 always enjoy our stay - Stayed here a couple of times now and we will be regulars in the future as our daughter is a oxford uni . Hotel is great everything you expect from. Premire inn clean bar ans restaurant on site .and a bath which i love . Good food . Staff nice and friendly happy in their work lots of parking . Nice an quiet area even thought its next to a small airport its not a commercial airfield only private planes . So not many and you dont hear then when in your room .
The only thing i had an issue with which is a minor problem and nothing to do with premire in . There is no mobile phone signal howevet there is Internet and WiFi signals and service which works fine x
- Jet09519103308 (10/5): Exceptional Service from Claudia - Claudia was very forthcoming and helpful with my request and will definitely stay here again because of it! Great service!
- W7739AOstephenc (4/5): Very disappointed. - Very disappointed 😞. Was told that restaurant would be open - but it wasn't. Room was very basic- not even a glass to put in your toothbrush. Nearest restaurant was 10 minutes walk along a road currently having road works completed.
- unkjhgt (2/5): Awful - We were informed a few days before that the Bar and Restaurant were closed, but had no idea how bad that would make our stay. Having subsequently made a complaint to Premiers complaints department, all I got was basically two fingers. Don't bother complaining because they do not care. What an awful Company.
- CAEWALES (6/5): Room and bathroom reasonably good. Service non existent. - The good: Close to Blenheim Palace, good sized room and reasonable bathroom. Berni Inn provided a reasonable breakfast and evening "pub" meal. Top ups for room items such as coffee and (the awful) packs of milk available in the reception area (bit of a misnomer!). Good parking.
Neutral: The hotel is on the edge of a new technology park opposite Oxford Airport.
The bad: Service is non-existent. Arrived and had to book in on a machine. No welcoming face to greet you. If you need to speak to anyone you have to call them from a back room. I requested the room be cleaned - which was duly noted by the male receptionist. I hung the card on the door handle which states that the room needs to be serviced and I have informed reception. When I returned that evening, nothing had been touched. I mentioned it to the female receptionist who shrugged her shoulders and said she knew nothing about it. I did state that the receptionist from the morning had written this down - and this was greeted with a further shrug. She did however give me clean towels.
The bed setee in the room was very grubby and frayed.
- simon47829621 (10/5): great stay - My wife and I booked a stay at Premier Inn for a wedding nearby Check-in was quick and smooth, and we were made to feel welcome right away. Our room was immaculate equipped with all the necessary amenities. The breakfast was fantastic, just as expected from Premier Inn, offering a great variety of food. Staff friendly but special shoutout to Chris on reception friendly and professional and to Steph who greeted us with a smile and a great chat on the way to our room.
- andysA4141EG (10/5): Consistently good standard of stay - Good clean room & comfy bed. Shame there were no breakfast options available but I was made aware of this online at the point of booking.
- U8473SUdonnaf (4/5): ☹️ - They are refurbishing which is fine but they say complimentary breakfast which is just an orange or choc au pain. Car got marked in the car park due to all the builders trucks etc which I presume are the people doing the refurb. Perhaps avoid until work is completed. No upgrade offered after they cancelled breakfast etc
- 813julesh (10/5): Really helpful and friendly staff. - Quiet on a Sunday night and staff so helpful. Cooked us a meal late and excellent small but quiet breakfast in the morning. Again, great staff and chef took time to tell us how he gets those poached eggs so perfect.! My wife wants to buy the mattress in our room. Manageress explained to us the process to buy one !
- Julian19751964 (8/5): Don't take some reviews too seriously! - Absolutely what you expect from Premier Inn although a little tired and in need of refurbishment. No issues finding the place and Sat-nav literally takes you to the front door . Yes it's on an industrial estate but that just means it's is quite at night! and yes there is no food or drink while under refurbishment but clearly needed so small sacrifice for future improvements. I was amused by the complaint from a non-resident regarding the restaurant and being given an honest opinion regarding pub-grub and actually was helped by the staff member and found her to be professional friendly and very helpful and would like to thank her for the assistance and honest opinions on choices of places for my wife and I to eat especially as we were residents in the hotel and never visited the area before. Nice touch with free coffee machine and takeaway cups as a gesture!
- L1911HPbernadettem (10/5): Good location and pleasant stay - This Premier Inn is in a very convenient location for anyone attending an event or wedding at Worton Farm. It has plentiful, safe parking and my room was very comfortable. I would stay here again.
- denewton (10/5): No problems at all - We had booked a couple of months ago so the room rate for a Sunday night so the room rate was pretty low. The room was large, clean, usual Premier Inn furniture and a good strong shower. No noise at all. Happy to recommend.
- 517JohnM517 (8/5): Another great stay in Kidlington - We have visited the hotel before so knew what to expect, We found the hotel to be well situated for a visit to Oxford, with easy access to the park and ride at the Oxford Parkway railway station the cost was £5 to park the car this enabled 2 people to travel on the bus to Oxford and back again using the car park ticket,
The hotel was clean and tidy and easy to find, we took advantage of the 2 course evening meal and a Buffett breakfast package along with a choice of a free drink of various choices, on one of the nights, and just breakfast on our second nights stay, all of which which worked very well,
- HartD75 (10/5): Friendly staff, clean hotel - The staff are incredibly friendly. Currently staying here tonight and I have to say the lady at reception right now is one of the friendliest staff members I have ever met in a premier inn, (I stay in a few for work). The restaurant is being refurbished like mentioned on their website but there are a few places around to eat. A lovely touch while the work is going on and unable to eat, is having tea and coffee at reception free of charge throughout your whole stay. Another little good will gesture is having a continental breakfast in the morning that you can collect from reception free of charge. The hotel is clean and welcoming. I honestly do not understand all the bad reviews, every hotel/restaurant needs a refurb now and again.
- geoffw681 (10/5): Great place to stay. - Booked to stay over one night as the location was located ideally suited to my function the following day. The hotel is very well presented with a Beefeater restaurant attached. The checking is done via machine and bar code but unfortunately I had no mobile signal so could not access my email so had to check in at the small reception.
The rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable as all the premier inns I have stayed at.
The restaurant was clean, service very good and value for money. Definitely stay here again. Very pleased.
- dyalnr (10/5): immaculate rooms - i stayed here with my family while we visiting some friends in the area during the summer i paid for an early check in and just had to give praise to the housekeeper Anna/hannah upon chatting to her i asked her to thank the person who had cleaned the room (we did get there before 11am and it was ready )she told us it was her and i just wanted to say the room was absolutely immaculate it smelled amazing and she had done a great job, the fresh towels were lovely and soft, the beds were so comfortable, upon anna/hannah recommendation we had the cooked breakfast in the dining room and it did not disappoint.from the moment we arrived to the moment we left all staff were attentive super friendly we will definitely return only negative thing i can say is the rooms are very hot and the building does look a little run down from the outside
- 627nyasham (10/5): Staff very friendly - Very friendly staff and service. Breakfast very private and very clean. Easy access . Hotel room very clean, bathroom had clean bathroom mats. Breakfast was excellent.
- 227jennyf (8/5): Very helpful staff - Not the most glamorous of locations, but everything in hotel was as would normally expect for a Premier Inn, other than restaurant winding down for refurb - which I was warned about in advance.
What did stand out was that every member of staff was super-helpful and friendly, which was great and made a real difference.
- W2705ATdanielb (2/5): Won't serve to non guests - We stopped off for some food at this premier inn only to be told that there were only serving food to the hotel guests. The restaurant was empty and the member of staff sent us down to another restaurant by saying go to this one as it serves 'basic pub grub'.
Well I'm glad we didn't stop and eat at the premier inn now and we found somewhere else to eat
- 617craigo (2/5): Dirty hotel poor bedding and not. Enough towels - Arrived at the hotel and was greeted by Rekha who was so friendly and accommodating. We told her we had a room booked and for some reason premier inn booked and charged me for 2 rooms when only one was needed. After the confusion I was given my room card and made my way to my room. The room wasn’t clean it only had one towel when there was 2 guests. The duvet had a hole In it and the pillows was flat.
I went downstairs to see Rekha and she apologised profusely saying this was unacceptable and shouldn’t have happened. She then gave me another room and when I went up this was in an even worse state. The room wasn’t cleaned, the bed sheets were dirty and again only one towel. The bathroom sink had water in it from the previous guest. There was sweet wrappers under the bed and at the side of the bed.
Again I went too see Rekha who was mortified about this and again she apologised and gave me clean sheets so I could make my bed. Rekha also gave me complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience and free upgraded WiFi.
While the hotel itself wasn’t very clean Rekha was totally professional and I couldn’t fault her. Next day after an uncork sleep I went to reception so I could book my evening meal, but no one was there. I waited a good while but still no one came to see me so I had to leave for work. Would certainly not stay at the hotel again.
- kevinT3154UN (10/5): Another good stay at Premier Inn - Another good stay at a Premier Inn. Location is very quiet, however with the main road closure outside the hotel due to road works it's probably not a surprise. Access to the hotel and then the town centre is rather convuluted, with detours through the locsl industrial estate.
- O1624EXandyb (6/5): Not the best - Unfortunatley, not the best experience for us. Room was hot and air con noisy. Only 1 set of towels for 2 people. No secure motorbike parking. Food for a gluten-free diet was non existent. Very expensive for what it was.
- amJ4362NH (10/5): Very good. - Very friendly staff and the room was very clean. Definitely recommend to stay here. Only down side is the bar/restaurant next door is card only which was a problem as my friends only had cash on them.
- U2959OPjaker (10/5): great experience - breakfast in morning was fantastic, special shoutout to the chef, his second day in the role and food was incredible, best black pudding i have had from a hotel breakfast. nice relaxed atmosphere, would highly recommend.
- J721LWnicolet (10/5): I give it 5 stars - WE HAD WENT ON HOLIDAY WITH MY FAMILY. WE HAD A GREAT SEEING OR THE FASCINATING BUILDINGS. WE WANNA SAY THANK YOU TO REK HA WHO HAS GIVEN US THE BEST EXPERIENCE EVER . SO WE ARE SO GREATFULL.
- peterfF1953ON (4/5): Well below usualy standard - This hotel is tired and, sadly, cannot be recommended. It is now virtually surrounded by construction works, with access tortuous and through a large industrial estate. The restaurant is apparently due to close shortly and the menus are now very restricted. Overall, we will look for another hotel when next in Oswestry
- 364yasinp (10/5): Great service - Great customer service by Rekha at the reception. very professional and helped make check in smooth. 10/10 experience
- Cardi-kid (4/5): Avoid, unless you enjoy being next to a building site - Situated adjacent to building site of new houses. Very noisy, usual building traffic, lorries, diggers etc.
Limited choice of food in restaurant, for some reason, also orange juice not always available- notice citing global shortage??
We always stay in Premier as good standards & value for money. This branch is in a very poor position in Oswestry, and also in need of some refurbishment.
- jimN263EL (2/5): Run down, poor night's sleep - The Oswestry PI is very run down, and Oswald's Cross next door did not have half of the menu options. The bar stock was also running low, with two tap beers off and empty shelves.
Room 103 is above the reception door which does not have dampers. It banged until, at 11 p.m., I dressed and went down to reception. They arranged for it to be kept open. The banging started again at 5 a.m. I had a very poor night's sleep and did not enjoy the event I went to the next day (the reason for my stay) because I was so tired.
I have been using Premier Inn for about 30 years, and I used to recommend it as value for money. I have noticed it going down hill recently. This could end my loyalty to the brand.
- U1800MTsm (2/5): Dissatisfied - Staff never at the desk, nor friendly or helpful. Bathroom smelt of damp and had rotting areas. Rooms like a hotbox no flowing air, fans which blew out hardly any air. No facilities for summer. I had booked 4 rooms for our family, disappointing stay.
- Lavalamp1234 (2/5): Disappointing! - Very disappointed as, having paid in full at time of booking, staff member refused to check us in for our room without us paying a further £8. Not a huge amount but frustrating as no explanation could be provided about why we were being asked to pay this additional fee. Didn’t have much choice as far from home & late at night. Staff member did not offer to resolve, just fobbed us off with an email address for customer services if we wanted to complain.
- 186400Caroline (4/5): Dirty room, difficult to get at and in need of update - Firstly the access road off the island is closed and there is no diversion provided. This i isn’t the responsibility of the hotel, but they could put it on their website as a warning.
The room was not particularly clean. There were cobwebs all over the ceiling in both the bathroom and the bedroom. Unlike most Premier Inn, there is no sofa just a very tatty armchair, that didn’t look fit for purpose.
Have to say the staff were lovely, they rang the day before to check if I needed meal bookings and were very friendly on arrival.
I regularly stay in in Premier Inn and find this one well below standard.
- edxxyy (6/5): The whole business is going under - The room was typical Premier Inn, basic.
The restaurant next door is being wound down. Very poor selection at the bar, limited menu, very bare restaurant. Sitting in there was very depressing. I am SO glad I refused the meal deal that my company usually insists on. I opted for room only.
This is probably my last stay here after 10 years of bookings
- 32nigelj (10/5): A nice stay - We only stayed a night in early August. Parking was free, which was a bonus. The booking was quick. We had the offer of evening meal and breakfast. We both had an evening meal. A mixed grill and a curry. Both were served hot, and among the best meals we have had out.
Breakfast was served hot(cooked breakfast) and delicious. Couldn't fault food at all. Room was nice and clean, Comfortable. It's what was needed.
- wommble (6/5): Plumbing issues - We stayed in the older part of the hotel - the rooms are tired and could really do with a tidy up but then we didn't pay alot and they were clean. The toilet was blocked for part of our stay (couldn't handle my h which we wanted to try and sort ourselves as im sure you can understand. We sorted it with a loo brush and some of the team were lovely however others not the most helpful when you say your toilet is blocked can I use another one - i had to ask for them to let me into another room as the staff loo was broken and the retsurant was shut 🙄
- 282alliam (10/5): ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - I recently stayed at Premier Inn Oldham with my father and had a very pleasant experience from the start. We were warmly greeted at reception by a lovely young lady named Chanel, who was very kind, helpful, and accommodating.
For example, we asked for an extra key card and she sorted it immediately - no hassle at all. It’s those little things that make a big difference.
- O6923RAsimond (10/5): Amazing food - Monday 4th
Fantastic service from chanel,
Delicious food, will be back,
I recommend staying at this hotel, very comfy bed clean room. Overall fantastic
- Evie1965 (8/5): Attention to detail needed - On approach parts if the building looked tired and grubby, looks like they are part way thru cleaning or oaining the exterior. Loads of parking, which was a relief , as had been sent an email saying parking was reduced due to construction. The car park is large and plenty of space. Check was easy and fast. Was in a room on ground floor at end of the corridor. The corridor smelt like people had been smoking. The room was a good size for 3 of us, and was clean. Wasnt overly hot which was nice, and had a floor standing fan which we appreciated. Bathroom had 1 bathtowel each, and one hand towel. The downside of the bathroom was that the bin had not been emptied, would not have been a problem except it had 3 used condoms in!! I was in a room with 2 teenage girls, and this oversight was not acceptable! Nina quickly replaced the bin and gave us complimentary breakfast. Nina was very apologetic, but the cleaning is not her job, and she had to deal with the complaint following the poor service if the cleaning staff. Earlier Nina had been very helpful with the planning of our journey to the coop live the next day. She is a credit to the company. Her customer service skills were excellent. Breakfast was spot on, with lits of choice- although they did put my bacon on my daughters plate, but bought out some more.
After breakfast i asked at reception for our bins to be emptied and for clean towels, this was a new receptionist-didnt get her name. She made a note. When we returned very late, our request had not been actioned! Wasnt impressed with this, following the previous days issue. We also reported that a panel kept falling off the wall under the sink in the bathroom. Was told maintenance was done on a tuesday. But as it didnt bother us, we let it go.
Have stayed at Premier Inn on numerous occasions as we trust the brand and know what to expect. This was one of the most expensive stays-£196 for 2 nights and feel like this time you didnt quite hit the mark. Would stay here again as ideally situated for what we needed and overall despite the issues we liked our stay. Probably wouldnt pay top price again tho.
- 234breev (10/5): Oasis - We stayed for the Oasis gigs at Heaton Park, good location. The staff were very helpful and had information packs to inform us how to get to and from the gig. They also told us how to get into the city centre and what to do while we were there. Everyone had made such an effort to welcome the fans with the Cardboard cut outs and the oasis music playing. Breakfast in the morning was great, really filled us up and lots of choice
