Guest Reviews
- Daydream03613103509 (2/5): Do not stay in Room 1! - We are regular visitors to Liverpool and choose this premier inn on a regular basis. It's in a great location for most things in Liverpool and is usually a reasonable price.
Most of the time we have been fortunate to get a view overlooking the dock.
This time we were allocated room 1 which is on Level M.
This room overlooks the main entrance to the hotel and is one of the noisiest rooms we've ever stayed in. All night there were people arriving, but also deliveries of stock and laundry being collected and returned to the hotel.
I would advise any one checking in to refuse rooms 1-5 as you will not get a good night's sleep.
- PCCH1983 (8/5): Good overnight stay - Good overnight stay in a refurbished Premier Plus accessible room. Very modern, clean and great wet room. The air conditioning was new, which provided good heat.
It's a big hotel and I thought it was disappointing there is no bar/lounge area or evening meals offered. Luckily, there is a really nice Toby Carvery next door.
We paid £15 for early check-in upon booking. Room was not ready when we arrived. The male receptionist said it was not guaranteed, it did not say this in the email, so make sure you get your £15 back if your room is not ready.
- 712eveb (10/5): Great customer service - Julia was an amazing help today. Incredibly patient and kind when dealing with a payment issue. Fantastic customer service.
- Flyer321963 (8/5): Good value - Comfortable beds, quiet nights and gorgeous listed building. Rooms need updating but can’t beat the price and location.
- 656nassers (2/5): Bad experience - I was charged £200 for a side room with no access to open air worse than a cell in prison!! This room was not worth more than £50/night! The room is interior with the window in the room is fake! The fan in the air conditioner was noisy with unbearable loud sounds and should have been replaced long time ago. The spare pillows were smelling sweat! I had to use the bathroom towels to sleep. I was tired and honestly thought if I make a foss in the reception I get no more than more misery and if you change my room you will still push this room on someone else! This was my unfortunate stay on the 29 November 2025 in this hotel.
- 544Betty (4/5): Poor accommodation - There was only one good point about this Inn ie location it is so close to the Arena.
It was worn dated and extremely cold in our room 202 2nd floor we had to get into bed fully clothed to stay warm.Very disappointed as we have stayed in all the Premier Inn in Liverpool now and this was the worst. We have stayed in Premier Inn all over the country and find that they have cut down on staffing the Inn that's why we did not go down to reception and complain.Never go back there we are going to start booking other hotels now .
- KellyM699 (2/5): The Dirtiest Premier Inn I Have Ever Stayed In!! - The dirtiest Premier Inn I’ve ever stayed in!!! On arrival at 11pm after 5 hrs driving we just settled straight into bed.
I’m not the type to inspect hotel rooms on arrival.
Next morning whilst getting ready we realised how filthy the room was. The settled dust must have been 3-6 months old at least. Dirty cups and dirty bathroom floor. At one point I sneezed (probably from the dust) and you could see dust fly up everywhere!
My stepson suffers with allergies and ended up having a nosebleed it was so bad.
The shower leaked which meant we had to use our towels to mop up the soaking wet and very dangerous floor.
Not one to complain we left for the day at 11am and I asked at reception kindly if we could have our room cleaned and some replacement towels. Receptionist agreed and wrote the request down. When we got back around 9pm the room hadn’t been cleaned and the towels hadn’t been changed.
I reported the whole situation to reception who gave me clean towels and explained they would report to the hotel manager the following morning.
When I spoke to the hotel manager the following morning she said the only complaint reported back was that I had requested a room clean which hadn’t taken place - no communication regarding the reason for requesting a room clean and how bad it was.
Staff communication at this hotel is very poor, they show little sympathy and this is by far THE DIRTIEST PREMIER INN I HAVE EVER STAYED IN!!
I stay in various Premier Inn hotels around 6 times a year.
Not worth £190 for 2 nights
Not even worth £40 a night!
We get married next year at a nearby wedding venue and have listed this hotel to over 90 guests on our invitations. Following our visit last weekend we will be contacting all our invited guests and suggesting they AVOID this hotel and stay somewhere clean!
- M8642NVrussellp (10/5): Exceptional Experience 10/10 - Fantastic meal at the onsite Beefeater Restaurant, food, service, atmosphere all outstanding. Tried this year's festive feast and it didn't disappoint. Hotel is excellent too.
- alybalybe (10/5): Perfect for a short stay - Very helpful staff, plenty of parking space, clean room with a comfortable bed and also a decent breakfast. Perfect for a short stay.
- Safari57026278553 (6/5): Disappointing - The location was excellent, the rooms basic. We either froze or boiled as the temperature was very difficult to change. The restaurant downstairs was very unaccommodating and kept wanting to separate us even although we were a big group of 24 and they had the room for us. There was a young lad at reception with glasses that was excellent. The same could not be said for the mature lady that worked in the evening.
We asked for the room to be cleaned and it wasn't. It was easier to just manage your own towel change. I'd stay there again but it's not around the guest comfort but the staff's ease.
- jeffmW5108KS (10/5): First visit Liverpool - Excellent experience kind friendly efficient staff who helped with our questions Steven mark tash john to name a few. My first time in Liverpool. What a friendly city. All the sousers are brilliant your city is an exceptional place to visit. Thank you scousers for a great weekend
- andrewlovejersey85 (10/5): Great break away - The location was excellent great atmosphere the room 123 was amazing I would like to stay in same room next time the value of money was wonderful
- wixon (8/5): Friendly, warm, great location - We were received warmly and given a high room with a view over the docks and down the Mersey. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and the room was peaceful. We paid for ultimate WiFi but on the second day only one of us could access it so we paid for something we didn't get. Breakfast was relaxing and delicious.
- RainGlows (10/5): Great Stay. - The hotel was right on the docks, which is where I needed to be for my regional meeting. I didn’t stay for evening meals, but I did want breakfast, so when I did, it was exceptional, as I’ve stayed in many premiere inns for work through the years, and this one was my favourite stay. I come to liverpool for work, and this is the best one in the city for me. I stayed for a couple of nights, and wanted too shout out one of the team members working, don’t know if he was the manager or a general team member, but his name was Chris, and everything wasn’t too much trouble. I observed him chatting to other customers and they seemed very appreciative of what he was doing. I found the same, even though it was very busy. The room, was great, I loved some of the open brick walls, which was something I’ve not seen before. Being so close to the city, but just off the path, it was ideal for everything I needed. The only thing I found a slight hiccup with was the speed of the WiFi, as my laptop wasn’t connecting as well or my phone, but still managed.
- stephaniebW8008PF (10/5): Lovely stay ,perfect location for shopping. - We requested the same room we had the previous year and we got what we asked for .Staff on reception are very helpful and polite restaurant staff helpful and obliging. Rooms clean ,beds comfortable.Breakfast is lovely so much choice .
- Nikshade (2/5): Disappointing - I stayed here on the 16th - 17th of November - in a Premier Plus room and had a very disappointing experience. I’ve stayed in many Premier Inn hotels before and the staff have always been friendly and helpful.
I called the day before to ask about early check-in and was told it would cost £15 from 11am but will be free from 1:30pm if the room was available. When I arrived at 2pm, the receptionist was unexpectedly hostile. He confirmed the room was ready and available but said I’d still have to pay £15 to check in before 3pm. He then told me I could wait until 2:30pm and was welcome to sit in front of him for half an hour. It felt unprofessional and like a money grab.
My room (218) was very clean but extremely cold, and the temperature controls didn’t work - I didn’t have a comfortable night. There was also a sewage smell coming from the vents. Overall, a poor experience and definitely not what I expect from a Premier Plus stay.
- Dreamer16271125112 (10/5): Faye was superb!! - Stayed here for a business trip and was met by Faye, let me tell you what a credit to Premier inn. From start to finish my time here was excellent (Thanks to Faye) I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and I’m even planing return trip with my wife in the new year. Only thing I could fault was the attitude of one of the managers Dean.
Thanks again Faye you really made my experience GREAT!
- lisasF2947CY (8/5): Great location but no view - The location was was brilliant. The staff are really friendly. Breakfast was the same as in every other Premier Inn which is good. One of the lift did break and a lot of people are having to take the stairs rain constantly and it was a huge puddle right inside the door, but the thing that did last down Was we paid for a view and there was no view
- 514adrianw (10/5): Great few days in a great location - Great location, lovely hotel with many original features. Perfect location, with plenty to do on site and only a short walk to the city centre.
- Upthereds123 (10/5): Great stay/ new place - Usually stay at Moorfields but they were full so paid the extra for Albert Dock. Not disappointed. Great people, great stay with no issue. What a lovely place. Might stay here in future due to location and lovely views.
- AlandeWalden (10/5): Good central base. - The Hotel is in a historic building: a former warehouse that was the first in the world constructed with brick, steel and cast iron to reduce the risk of fire. It is also part of the largest site of graded buildings in England. As far as possible the character of the building has been preserved.
Our room was comfortable, well-maintained and clean. I'd add the small proviso that the exterior window do gather condensation, which can detract from the view over the actual dock: makes the view a bit 'foggy'. Check-in was simple and welcoming. Food is good. Obtaining a taxi is easy. It is a short walk to the historic Pierhead and both cathedrals and other attractions. We were there over the Remembrance celebrations.
I should also mention the prompt, business-like response of the staff when the fire alarms sounded early one evening. They reacted very well. Fortunately, it was a false alarm. Tip: ask for a view overlooking the dock.
- Flyer01659906977 (6/5): Don't eat there !! - Location, great. Room ,small but nice and clean
Food was terrible. Really terrible. Breakfast was edible but evening meal was really bad.
- northernbird18 (10/5): Short solo break - Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff and couldn’t get much closer to the arena which was perfect for me. Great area with lots of bars and restaurants and sights nearby and a short walk into the city centre. If I’m ever back in Liverpool I would definitely stay here again
- lakelord (4/5): A tired hotel. - This location is well past a refurb. The standard rooms are below standard compared to other vendors and other Premier Inns for that matter. Simple things like USB connections (for charging) etc are non-existent.
Although the view from our room was nice, it was impossible to see unless you opened the window as the windows were filthy. On a positive note, the staff were efficient and friendly so no issues there.
- dawntJ9285IM (6/5): Poor checking-in Process - The hotel is in a great location, room was large and comfortable but the experience was massively let down by the poor checking in process which really needs sorting out.
Check-in was 3pm to which we had to join a very large queue, only 2 people serving on the desk and the process was lengthy. When we finally reached reception after about a 30 min wait we were told that not all the rooms were ready and we had to pay for each room separately which was bizarre as I had 2 rooms to pay for!
The hotel needs to either look at staggered checking in times or have more people working at peak times. Rooms should also be ready to check into at the stated time.
- alanbK6714BP (2/5): Never again. - I arrived at the hotel at about 8.30pm to find that there were no reception staff available. Instead there was a self check in system that included a programmable room access card. My room was on the first floor and the lift was out of order but I managed to get to the room and go inside. I found that the access card also controlled the lighting but had no idea that for the lights to stay on it needed to be placed in a slot in the control panel. This meant that when I was some distance inside the room all the lights went out leaving me in complete darkness. That I managed to make my way back to the door without falling over anything and get the lights back on was down to luck. As an OAP with mobility issues and with no-one nearby to help me, if I'd tripped over in the darkness and hurt myself I'd have been in serious difficulty. This was a health and safety nightmare.
- TMIN2018 (10/5): Great value for money - Beautiful room with a great view every thing was spot less in the room slept so well plenty of hot water and super comfortable bed
- Daniel (10/5): - Excellent stay
- MarkEllam (10/5): Great overnight stay - Clean, well furnished and functional room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location especially if visiting the very nearby Royal Mint Experience as we did before onwards travel to Pembrokeshire.
- 484jasonc (10/5): Llantrisant Premier Inn - What a great little hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful, bed was really comfortable, room and bathroom was clean and fresh, ideal location just outside of Cardiff, lovely couple of villages (Talbot Green and Pontyclun) with some really good coffee shops and eateries, breakfast was good too plenty of selection, some great walks in the area including old llantrisant
- billg3715 (8/5): Good stay - Stayed for two nights. Self check in although assistance was at hand. Room was fine, excellent mattress, duvet and pillows. Room was very clean, two bottles of water in the mini fridge! Bathroom was clean, excellent shower and washing accessories. WiFi was abysmal, couldn’t download items. Breakfast service was excellent, food itself couldn’t be faulted. Very handy for M8. All in all good value.
- ColdFFeet (8/5): Not what we expected!!!!!!! - We booked and paid for a Premier Plus Double room, two months prior to the trip, but on arrival we were put into a 'Standard Double' room after being told that there were no Premier Plus Double rooms available! Their 'guest relations' department offered no real apology saying that it was a 'mix-up' and offered us just £20 to 'keep quiet'. We stay in a lot of Premier Inns around the country, so Come on Premier Inn, your better than that?
- Lynne (8/5): - Clean modern spacious rooms. Good breakfast choices.
- LuBaldauf (10/5): Good experience overall - Great location, close to the motorway, so it was ideal for exploring Scotland. The staff was polite and helpful, and breakfast was excellent!
- 769nathanm (10/5): Great hotel with great staff. - New style room. Absolutely spotless. Would definitely stay at this one again. Team Member checking me in was friendly, interested in my journey and onward travel.
- K2002CCdebbieg (10/5): Great Experience! - We booked a room at 11pm (after we abandoned a cottage we had booked but were not impressed with), arrived 20 mins later, family room was ready and staff offered to store our bottle of milk in their staff fridge for us! Room was spotless. It was a welcome retreat after a stressful evening. Breakfast at the Beefeater was lovely too! Thanks Premier Inn!
- Christopher (8/5): - Friendly and helpful staff.
- Sylvia (10/5): - Staff was amazing. Very helpful
- lindasM6131PK (10/5): Beautiful place and great hotel - Everything was perfect for my stay and couldn't of gone any better at premier inn is wonderful including the price and the bed is amazing staff are welcoming and friendly and helpful rooms are immaculately clean h
- Y7438AAheatherm (10/5): family - absolutely brilliant hotel clean friendly and we will only use this hotel when wr come to scotland. highly recommend this hotel to friends and family
- PaulRoath (10/5): Great, comfortable and clean in good location. - Always use this Premier Inn when staying near Bathgate. Love the premier plus rooms for extra comfort. Place is always clean, quiet and a Toby Carvery next door. Staff always pleasant and so helpful.
- T4729DYleeh (8/5): Pretty good - Seemed like the best hotel in tha area. Staff were great. breakfast very busy when we were there but ok. Not cleaning the rooms as standard nightly which I think is a bit rich when they aren't exactly budget anymore. Parking good and a Toby Carvery next door. My only complaint is the lack of air con. Never thought that would be a concern in Scotland but the room was 29 degrees when we were there in late September.
- leesW5042AZ (10/5): Fandabidozy - Very nice hotel staff are great especially mando @ the bar took time to be friendly and pleasant to be fair this experience of premier was a game changer
- R902SKaaronb (2/5): Dirty and needs some maintenance work - Bed was dirty, the shower was covered in other people's hairs.
Just not been properly cleaned very poor condition shower head was leaking so the shower wasn't powerful.
Needs some attention
- bogdanpopey (4/5): 4 star SCAM - We wanted a nice Premier Inn experience. We used motorway-king of Premier Inns before all over UK but this one even with the refurbished rooms seemed of a cheaper quality. We are now finding out that gone are the days when Premier Inn was a desired hotel chain throughout UK and Europe. Standards are gone and definitely 4 stars are not deserved. Cleanliness is something they need to really work out. For a 3 star hotel we can expect some amenities of a certain quality but not for a desired 4 star.
- Globaltravel2323 (10/5): Great night sleep - Staying here at the moment, spacious rooms, lovely staff, nice layout. Close to airport, comfy beds, great good nearby
Highly recommended
- O3524HHannemariem (10/5): Best Hotel in Bathgate - We arrived at the hotel on Thursday 28th August we had already checked in online but when we got there the staff was amazing and so friendly they couldn’t do enough for you to help make your stay as comfortable as possible the rooms are perfect clean and full of the essentials that you need from extra pillows to having a nice cuppa in the morning the morning breakfast is the best around again the staff couldn’t do enough for you.
We never stay anywhere else when we travel to Scotland.
- RobTA61 (10/5): Great hotel definitely recommend - A really good premier inn, lovely staff, easy to get to from Cardiff, this is our go to Premier Inn when we go to Cardiff, no charge for parking, very helpful with accessible needs, breakfast at the beefeater is really good
- ethanmW8865ZS (8/5): In April 2025 I went to the Premier inn. The staff were lovely and kind but there is no attractions like there is no pool or no - It is a great place to visit if you are going to the royal mint but other than that there is not much to do. You can take walks on the mountains but it is a bit boring. However the staff are lovely
- Michael (10/5): - Breakfast was Awesome. Staff are Excellent.
- stevehP865PD (8/5): Just what I wanted - Helpful reception staff, comfy bed, a hot shower and a substantial breakfast. Plenty of car parking is available and access to the hotel is just off the main road
- 454jackid (8/5): Overall very good - Excellent Premier inn. Room clean and fresh and the new endorsed mattresses are fabulous, very comfortable. Staff welcoming and friendly. Rooms were of ambient tempersture spotless bathroom and great shower.Coffee and tea replenishment freely available in reception. Parking 1st night great. Second night not so as arrived late back after a concert in Edinburgh and ended up parking on a grass verge away from hotel. Not great. Didn't eat there. Train station is a good 30 min walk away. Vending machines for snacks in reception area. Overall a good comfortable experience.
- snitak2025 (10/5): Lovely stay! - We had a really lovely stay at the Premier Inn Livingston (Bathgate). From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome — everyone was friendly, helpful, and genuinely attentive, which made such a difference to our visit.
The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-kept, just what you’d expect from a Premier Inn, but it was the staff that really stood out and made the experience special. The check-in was smooth, the team was always happy to help with any questions, and they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.
It was a great base for exploring the area, with good transport links nearby, and after a busy day out it was lovely to come back to such a relaxed and comfortable place. The rooms were spotless and the beds very comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep.
Overall, we had a very positive stay and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. A big thank you to the team for making our trip so enjoyable!
- AST183 (2/5): What happened to Premier Inn? - Check in is now automated so don't get there 15 minutes early because there's nobody to speak to
The room wasn't cleaned mid stay - this is the only hotel chain I know that does this
The sink plug was jammed in the sink, so the sink was out of action and there is nobody to speak to
The fan in the bathroom does not work
There is no iron in the room
The much vaunted comfortable bed gave me a bad back
Really under par for an expensive stay
- victoriapR4480OW (10/5): Great comfortable stay - Great comfortable stay, nice clean rooms, lovely food, friendly staff and best of all air con in the rooms. Would highly recommend.
- Z2987FFsylviaj (8/5): Helpful staff - Everything good except no towels nor toilet paper. Once notified staff provided the items. Restaurant staff were friendly and provided good service
- I608ITwendyb (10/5): Very enjoyable stay - will definitely return - Thoroughly enjoyable x2 day stay at Llantrisant, room was as always, very clean, reception staff were very friendly (and smiley) along with great staff at the adjoining Beefeater Restaurant where the food was also very good. Well done to all concerned. Would recommend anyone to stay and eat here.
- L1838YPstuartf (10/5): Lovely hotel with lovely staff - Fantastic hotel, we stay here a lot when travelling up. The staff are so friendly and helpful, just like to mention the chef she is super friendly and welcoming just what you need in the morning!
- jackwK7299GE (10/5): Great experience - The service at the hotel was great and the room was very clean and tidy staff were great and so was the breakfast and I slept well
- L2337DVvinceb (10/5): Bathgate review - We arrived after 9pm after a tiring journey. Whilst checking in, the very friendly staff overheard us discussing where we could eat the pizza we just bought, and invited us to sit in the breakfast area. We reminded the staff that only one couple had managed to reserve a lye check out, so that looked at tomorrows booking and extended that offer to the other couple too which was a real bonus when we were. Trying to get ready for a large family celebration. The breakfast the following morning was first class, and that’s from me who had vowed never to eat at Premier Inn again. Well done to everyone who made our stay so nice.
- harryworcester (10/5): Excellent experience. - Friendly, courteous, helpful staff. Room good size and well appointed. Lots of electric points in good places. Air con. Immaculate. Bed comfortable with nice bedding. White good sized fluffy towels. Top up teabags/coffee etc available in reception. Early check in well worth it and a pleasure not to check out until 12 md. Excellent value for money.
- kazh2023 (10/5): Excellent, staff go above and beyond. - Arrived late, extremely tired. Issues with a room the man on reception moved us to a more suited room, he was very helpful. Then the room we moved to the second bed wasn't made so needed making. Gemma went above and beyond for us she's a lovely lady and a credit to the premier inn. Thank you Gemma.
- natej371 (10/5): Beautiful Hotel & Brilliant Staff - The hotel is spotless, in a gorgeous location and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I was incredibly tired and stressed after a long journey but the staff made it very easy for me to check in and get to my room. The whole experience was brilliant and I couldnt recommend the staff and hotel as a whole enough.
- Nomad60186110909 (8/5): Great stay - Family room for one adult and two teens. Comfortable beds, pillows let it down slightly. Good WiFi connection. Air con good once got the hang of it.
Ate at the onsite Beefeater and very surprised by quality of food for dinner and breakfast. Good value for money. Would stay again.
- 817deneg (8/5): A good hotel, but not cheap. - The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly, but Premier Inn is no longer the cheap option it once was. Having built the brand on being competitively priced, it's frustrating to watch their prices catching up with some of the higher end brands.
