Guest Reviews
- Christian (10/5): - Zimmer alles top! Frühstück very british… so wie man es liebt! Personal sehr zuvorkommend.
- Q4450FTlynnw (10/5): Great hotel - Another wonderful stay at one of my favourite hotels. Staff ate amazing and food delicious. Had breakfast and evening meals. Served by amber
- 349garyl (10/5): Great place to stay - Great stay, clean room which was large. Bathroom immaculate and very peaceful. The breakfast was of good quality, buffet style and hot
- I5852TTkevinn (10/5): ANGELA IS AMAZING!! - Angela was the most amazing server, person, was so kind, helpful, a big asset to the premiere Inn.
Will definitely stay here again for breakfast
- molly081 (6/5): Mixed - I give a three star review purely because of the lovely and friendly waitress Angela. What a lovely helpful employee. Last nights receptionist needs re training re: booking in disabled people. Rude and unfeeling. When I pointed out that her manner was really not right, she spent five minutes at the front desk arguing as to why she was right.
- truth60to70club (8/5): Good hotel. But about to be renovated I believe. - Room good. Breakfast good choice.
Only niggle is you have to ask on the day to get your room cleaned.
We did this, but on the day we got clean towels , no clean cups bed not made, and no tea bags, milk or coffee. This was the Saturday.
- EW_lol31 (10/5): Breakfast team at Dumfries Premier Inn - Weve been to a few premier inns over the last few years and the team at breakfast in this one is top notch. They have a really nice vibe and everything is run really smoothly. Happy to help with allergies, friendly, obviously happy to work together, and supportive - especially Heather- massive thanks to her!
- O505ZWjillc (10/5): Road trip - Room very clean and had everything we needed. Bar staff were friendly and Heather and Angela at breakfast were outstanding with their friendliness and service.
- Fiomil (10/5): Great place to stay! - Comfortable and cosy place to stay with work a couple of nights. Breakfast was delicious, thanks Angela for the box to take some of the delicious croissants away with us!
- snowy9920 (10/5): A warm Scottish welcome - We have stayed at Dumfries Premier Inn many times - it is in a great location and you are always sure of a warm welcome.
Breakfast is good and they treat allergies very seriously. Special thanks to Angela and Heather for looking after us. It was great to see you again and hopefully we will be back in 2026 😊
- lynnanders0n (10/5): Great hotel - Hotel was busy but despite that the staff as so friendly and can’t do enough for you. Super comfy sleep and good food in restaurant.
- P161HOmrs (10/5): Breakfast at premier inn. - Lovely food, lovely service, Heather and Angela really made us feel welcome. Thankyou! I will definitely be returning.
- rotary9921 (2/5): Sleepless nights - The reception staff were lovely when we arrived but it went downhill from there.
The room was nice and clean but couldn't charge our phones as the usb socket had been removed from the sockets.
Had to contacted reception who luckily gave us a plug.
First night guests from the room upstairs were thumping about till nearly 2.30am tried to contact reception but no-one there.
2nd night it went on till after midnight but after thumping on the ceiling it calmed down.
Reported it to reception who said it was a wedding party that was booked in..
Please don't take a room on the bottom floor if you want a good nights sleep..
- SirRonnieMooreHUFC (8/5): Good value as always - Stay once every year. Great value for money , lovely stay and get what you pay for. I must say the staff this year were better than usual. Very attentive and polite. Breafast brilliant / evening meal average as expected for money
- saabsue (10/5): A Great Autumn Break - The place is ready for an overhaul, a bit scruffy in the corridors but as clean as I would expect in the accmmodation The staff, particularly Heather & Paige, were very pleasant The meal deal lived up to expectations but dinner would become boring after 4 nights The cooked breakfast varied from day to day depending on how busy the place was My husband really enjoyed the black pudding We would visit again if in the area but, as a double leg amputee, I would have to have the one & only full wet room there Our accessible lowered bath was useless for me The Dumfries ares is beautiful & we were very lucky to have three days of sunshine
- pryse2024 (2/5): Avoid the restaurant! - We went for the meal deal which included 2 courses and a drink.
The food is absolutely abysmal!
Most of the menu wasn’t available.
What was available was prepared by the receptionist and took ages to come out.
When it did it wasn’t worth the wait. It was either overcooked and inedible or cheap microwaved rubbish.
We didn’t finish the meal and walked out it was so awful.
In fairness the lady who was serving was doing her best and was very friendly.
The room itself is ok, but the experience in the “restaurant” has completely put us off ever coming back.
- Discover13900157644 (10/5): Dumfries Premier Inn - On Tuesday morning 21/10/25, Angela, Heather and the staff were very attentive, helpful and knew their job and performed every task with a smile and a bit of craic. We were back on the Friday (25/10/25) and the staff were equally attentive and friendly....excellent...
- annebV809RF (6/5): Small tweaks required. - Location good.
Atmosphere none.
Rooms - 1st room issue with lights and toilet. 2nd room no issues.
Value good.
Younger restaurant staff need customer service training. Not helpful and didn't know the menu and didn't appear to care.
Food in the evening very dry either over cooked or left under the heat lamp too long.
Breakfast not the best quality.
Reception not the warmest welcome but helpful when requested.
Generally a good hotel with some improvements needed.
- 423philp (2/5): 2 minutes - I stayed there 21/10:25. Room 17. Our company uses Premier quite a lot.
I went to order an evening meal, only to be told by the guy behind the bar that the food order deadline is 8:45pm. I immediately checked my phone and it was exactly 8:47pm; I showed him and asked where it says 8:45 is the latest order time because there were no signs anywhere - not even the menu? - he just gave me a blank look, shrugged his shoulders and said “Nah mate, it’s closed”. I’d been driving most of the day and didn’t get any lunch so I was starving.
I went to breakfast the next morning and discussed it with one of the staff (Angela) she brilliant - such a nice lady. She was genuinely shocked that they would treat a guest like this over 2 minutes!
I’ll be advising our company’s booking agents to start using someone else to put our people in.
- S1702LAamandas (10/5): Nice wee sleepover - It was a last minute stay due to traveling through the night an early morning, so decided to break the travel with a sleepover.
Breakfast in the morning was lovely and the staff at breakfast , Ana and Angela were so friendly and couldn’t do enough to make sure we had everything we needed even though we came in late minute for Breakfast and even come an sang Happy Birthday after my saying to my partner about his birthday lol an brought a box of chocolates an card over which was a lovely touch 🥰
- estherbW4094BW (10/5): Excellent customer service. - Food was great !!!
Angela was very nice and helpful.
I really likes the fried egg !
Just how I like it ( nice and runny ) :)
Thanks
- M6414UUbarrym (10/5): High Standard of service and Value for Money! Our hostesses spoiled us and nothing was too much trouble. Angela was ace. - Exceptional value and impeccable service from start to finish. Angela’s warmth and attentiveness elevated the entire experience — her thoughtful gesture of bringing fresh eggs to the table epitomised genuine hospitality. The setting was spotless, tastefully designed, and wonderfully inviting, with soft lighting and gentle background music creating a calm, elegant atmosphere. Breakfast was a true highlight: a superb selection offering both variety and quality, with every ingredient fresh and beautifully prepared. From presentation to flavour, everything reflected care, pride, and a commitment to excellence. A perfect blend of comfort, charm, and culinary delight — an experience that lingers fondly in memory and one I would wholeheartedly recommend.
- G2180RFjohna (8/5): Good location for museum - You know what to expect.
The bed was very comfortable.
The room was nice and quiet.
It was just a few minutes walk down the road to the black country museum and the Dudley archives.
Food options in the area are a little limited.
- NorthStar802856 (10/5): Fabulous welcome, and great nights stay! - From the initial welcome, the cleanliness of the room, right through to the level of service from the staff, this is by far the best Premier Inn that I’ve ever stayed at! As I stay away 3 nights a week, I get to see the good, the bad, and sadly, the very very ugly side of Premier Inn’s. Please don’t change what you’re doing here! 😊👍
- KimJP1986 (10/5): One of Our Best Premier Inn Stays - This has to be one of the best stays we’ve had at a Premier Inn. The cleanliness and comfort were excellent, and the hotel’s location was easy to find with plenty of parking available. There were lots of amenities within walking distance for food and drink, which made everything really convenient.
We stayed for an event at the arena, and although we looked into public transport, driving was far quicker and more cost-effective, just £7 for parking compared to the longer, pricier public transport options. This is no reflection on the hotel itself, but rather on the limitations of the local transport network.
Staff on reception were incredibly helpful, both during check-in and when we requested a room clean after a spill on the bedding from our little boy, they responded quickly and kindly. The rooms were spacious, with plenty of coat hangers and thoughtful touches throughout.
When we arrived, our little boy was a bit past himself and feeling crabby after the journey. The staff member who checked us in noticed straight away and kindly pointed out the delay on the security camera screen. It instantly lifted his mood, he found it hilarious watching himself jump after he’d already jumped! It was such a thoughtful gesture and made a real difference to the start of our stay.
We genuinely cannot fault the hotel or the staff. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful night’s sleep in a perfect location.
- jeannettes882 (6/5): not the enjoyable stay we have had in the past - weekend was hard to find a member of staff never anyone at reception bathroom door had to be kept closed because of smell & unable to find staff to help with the paid for wifi that would not work
- squirrellnitkin (6/5): Good stay - We loved our stay, room had a great view of the castle
Surprised to find no bar just bottled beer, and the dinner menu was sparse, however you are very close to a hungry horse pub, Macdonald s, Pizza hut etc
Must mention Lauren who was very attentive and works really hard, she should be given a pay rise, she's a star
Very close to the castle and zoo and the black country museum
- debw232 (10/5): Would stay here again. - Excellent stay at the premier inn, check in was very easy, staff all very pleasant & free parking was a bonus.
The room although opposite a very busy road was very quiet, comfortable & clean.
Well done
- fredbJ4614ZD (10/5): Home from home - Amazing place, feel like coming home when go here. The staff are amazing. Wouldn't stay anywhere else. Rooms nice and big, clean and comfortable. Staff are so nice
- Kanelbullar (10/5): Great premier Inn - Great premier Inn. Room 110 was a lot bigger than room 111! Very friendly staff. We had a great holiday, thank you.
Breakfast was good and Serbia l served by great staff.
- robertberrington (10/5): Great hotel in good location - Excellent hotel in a great location for the Black Country Museum and Zoo.
Clean , comfortable with polite helpful staff.
Breakfast was great and the basic bar facilities did the job
Our 2nd visit here and would definitely use again.
I imagine it could get noisy at times with movement of neighbours above .
- 477ganeshm (10/5): Good hotel to stay - Staffs are friendly, big room, clean and it is in town and convenient for shopping, play area, restraurants and closer to motorway.
- U8228XOmarkl (10/5): If Carlsberg built a Premier Inn. - Stayed here overnight in order to visit the Black Country Museum. We were pleasantly surprised with the overall experience. We have stayed at many Premier Inn hotels and this is the best one so far, in our opinion. Our room was well appointed and immaculate. Breakfast was good and well organised. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Would recommend a visit.
- H9905PPleonl (6/5): Don't stay unless you have I.D - They allow a person to book into the hotel and then refuse them alcohol because they didn't have there I.D on them we booked x3 rooms as we went to the area for a wedding most of the staff were friendly apart from the one that was on the desk on the night time (Dan) was his name he asked me for I.D and I am 45 years old (should of taken it as a compliment) but my son and daughter-in-law was also challenged for I.D the following morning we had breakfast and my wife was sick right after it we gathered our belongings from the room and left. There are no charging points for your car they said there was some behind the hotel but they were not working had to travel into the town to find somewhere to charge the car to return home. We could only book x1 early booking in so all of us had to get ready in the same room.
- cliffmw2015 (2/5): clear and new but awful for business - New and cleann BUT in room no useable wifi, no mobile signal on any of 3 networks, no desk, can't open windows, no staff to be seen, a very frustrating ,and expensive vistsi not to be repeated
- catrinb201 (10/5): Great room and location. - Stayed here as we had a wedding in town. Room was lovely (premier plus) with a view of the castle. Quiet, black out curtains worked a treat! Staff were all lovely and helpful. Would stay again.
- leecH9553WY (10/5): Amazing and accommodating! - Was made to feel welcome by Steve as soon as I stepped in the building, all the way until I checked out. All the staff were amazing and tended to everyone's needs asap, and with the upmost efficency. Emma and Bruce on breakfast were so kind and friendly, absolutely made my stay 100%. Everywhere was spotless so housekeepers had done a fantastic job. Great value for money and absolutely great location for tourist attractions. 10/10 will love to come again!
- Elfandcab (10/5): Lovely stay - Lovely clean hotel, staff are very polite and attentive. Went the extra mile leaving drinks and biscuits in the room for the children, much appreciated. Only downside is gets v busy at breakfast and WiFi often not great. Would definitely recommend.
- Go68282892978 (6/5): rubbish food - What little staff on site was very polite and friendly.
Bed very comfortable as always.
Both mornings cooked breakfast was a disappointment.
- bekireilly86 (8/5): A good stay! - From start to finish we had a great stay. The self check-in screens are good, but seems odd to have it in front of the desk, where you would usually check in and there’s someone sitting there. They could also remind you to pop your reg in as you’re caught off guard by them asking to use the self check-in. I remembered as I left and hopefully, I will be fine. Some information on the restaurant would also be really helpful on the confirmation email. The room itself was good, it was a nice comfy bed and the room was nice and clean. It wasn’t a great sleep, but this was down to guests above, rather than anything the hotel could control. It was intermittent, so every time I thought about saying something, the noise stopped. The Breakfast was lovely, no complaints here at all! Friendly goodbye, would definitely stay again. Great proximity to the Zoo and Black Country Museum.
- Q4687PXjohng (10/5): This is a place to stay - Once again we had a lovely stay and was well looked after .
The breakfast was great. We been here lots of times and never been let down.
The staff can't do enough for you. They make your stay a wonderful one and make you want to go back .
That's why we chose to stay in premier Inn it's great
