Guest Reviews
- Kingfisherdell (6/5): Sullen member of staff. - As usual, our stay at a Premier Inn was comfortable. However, at this particular location (Cleethorpes) the lady on duty at the reception clearly didn’t want to be there. She seemed rather miffed that we had arrived and needed to be attended to. The were no welcoming words. The price she offered was more than the online price so I asked if I could sit in the foyer and book online. ‘Suit yourself,’ was her curt reply. We asked for a quiet room and she allocated one. We checked if this was a quiet room. Her response was ‘Reasonably.’ Just a couldn’t care less attitude. On leaving the next morning she was on duty again, in the foyer, when we handed the key card in. No comments such as ‘Good morning; thank you; enjoy your day….’ Just totally disinterested in her role. I think some staff training is required.
- Rovinglamb (8/5): Good location and free parking - Regularly stay in Premier Inns and have been to this one before. The room had all the usual facilities and was clean. Our air conditioning unit control panel had part of the panel missing so it was virtually impossible to control the temperature. Staff at the bar at night and at breakfast seemed to be working on their own, but despite being busy were very friendly and helpful. Staff on reception could be more friendly. We left the hotel and the two staff just looked at us. No acknowledgement, smile or goodbye which I find strange for someone working in a front line customer facing role. Will continue to stay here in future as it is handy, has free parking and was very good value. A short training session on how to meet and greet customers would not go amiss. It's the little things that do make a difference.
- AnointedQueen (6/5): Titivating - Location is not too bad
The atmosphere was dull in the restaurant l understand thus is new but try and have competitive prices. Outside pain looks run down
Price was value for money rooms are big as usual
- andrewcE9986CR (2/5): Slum! - What an absolute dive! Arrived and got treated by a chap that was permanently sniffing and wiping away the snot with his hand and then continued to tap on the keyboard and then hand me the key card with the same hand.
Walked to my room…. The hallway was filthy clearly hadn’t been hoovered recently. Opened the room, which was allegedly clean but I’d suggest the hoover had only been shown the room not actually plugged in or turned on.
Toilet needed a clean.
The shower leaked and had clearly been leaking for a time owing to the damage to the ceiling!
Rooms don’t get cleaned, you have to request it by trying to find the front desk staff, who are never there.
So spent 7 days untouched.
Food…..
Breakfast ok, selection was good but other than the toast that you do yourself everything was warmish but generally cold.
Dinner… OMG always missing food! The first night was told there was no cheese which shuts down half their menu. Second night no buns, on another night there was so little selection I just couldn’t be arsed and went to bed! The disappearing bun issue reoccurred several more times.
Tesco and Aldi just over the road so a savvy manager would have sent staff over to purchase what was missing.
Did complain one night and was told that they are very good at ordering but if a bigger Premier Inn needs the supply then they just take it and have no control, which I can’t believe.
The only way this places stays open is from businesses placing their staff in them with no choice given.
Glad to escape at the end of the week!!
- kpG2611FG (8/5): Needs attention - Good location. Excellent breakfast, but coffee machine still broken. Early checkin chaotic. Paid for twin, finally given double.
- coreyjayes (10/5): Changed rooms - Jo was very kind and extremely helpful with moving rooms for us. She is doing an amazing job at keeping the place running and everyone happy. Had a fantastic stay, would highly recommend staying. Thank you again Jo!
- Kittyuskat78 (4/5): Not the greatest - If you want a bed to sleep in and a reasonable breakfast, then this place does exactly that. If you are staying for more than a night or two for work, then I would stay somewhere else.
The evening menu in the restaurant is not great, when you've been out all day and want something satisfying or filling then the menu options are poor. The options are odd choices and none of them seem to be suited to anyone other than those who enjoy processed microwavable food.
Several nights of my stay many of the items were not available, with the basic stuff not being in stock (Burger Buns).
The make your own Pizzas have strange topping options like, pickled onions and poppadom's, and there is a serious lack of vegetables or healthy options.
The service was slow, and things were forgotten or just didn't turn up at all, even when it wasn't busy.
The staff tried their best and were polite but again information was given on several occasions in relation to the booking but nothing noted down or put onto the system, against the room(despite this being promised) so this resulted in having to relay the same information night after night which got a little boring, especially when it was the same person.
The rooms were sort of clean and the bed sheets didn't fit the bed but again if it’s just somewhere to get your head down at the end of the day then its fine.
- Escape57757158818 (2/5): Very poor - Room not ready on arrival, had to wait 2 more hours ,understaffed and no directions. Breakfast was unbelievable, no milk onsite and coffee machine out of order , no food ready ,dirty tables and serving area , the one waitress basically have a breakdown , the worse experience in staying at any hotel .
- sue315978 (10/5): Hardworking, friendly staff. - The room was extremely clean and comfortable. Good shower, tea, coffee + milk with more available in reception if needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Two staff, in particular, stood out. When we went for our meal in the restaurant, Katelyn was on duty. She was extremely efficient, polite and hardworking. Everytime I noticed her, she was very busy (didn't seem to be many staff around to begin with) but she kept a smile on her face and was so quick and organised that I was very impressed. Also when we went to breakfast, Yaz was serving. What a lovely friendly person she was. She was efficient and quick but also took the time to chat and asked us if we had enjoyed the stay and what we were going to be doing for the day. She actually cheered me up and I left with a smile.
The only negative about the restaurant was that at the dinner they had run out of rice and at the breakfast they had run out of eggs! I've never known a restaurant to be out of eggs. Rice and eggs are staples and don't really perish that quickly so they are easy to store.
A lovely stay and I will be visiting again.
- T8135SUvickyr (10/5): Great Location for a hotel, with amenities close by - Stayed 2 nights at the Premier Inn Cirencester. Location is ideal with large supermarkets and a McDonalds close by. Other restaurants about a 10 min walk, easy to find and safe path away from the main roads.
Room was really clean. No issues with parking, plenty of spaces.
Wifi a bit dodgy, connected fine both days, but couldn't send emails as although connected, signal was low. But no major issue, as IPad worked, so could play games instead.
Room had an adjoining door, which I didn't like as was a solo, female traveller, but there was a family in the room next door, so I still felt safe.
Huge bath was a relaxing treat, after a long day working and being away from home and family.
TV channels great, can't beat a Christmas Movies, even if only October still, but nobody was with me to judge lol
Nobody at reception when check in, but soon appeared once bell rung and they finished chatting with a colleague about issues on another floor.
Didn't see any staff again until I checked out, but when I did speak to them, they were all friendly.
Didn't use the restaurant, only because eating out alone is no fun.
Would stay again, for work or holiday.
- juliesN1667FZ (10/5): Great stay, we found the room cosy, warm and clean. Breakfast next door was great too. Would definitely book again. - Great stay, was cosy, warm and clean, definitely would come back. Breakfast next door was lovely too. We will be back xxx
- sapphire10 (10/5): Comfortable Stay - Expected Premier Inn standard, with easy admin, comfortable room, helpful staff and good breakfast. Located at the Southern end of Cleethorpes, not far from town and backing onto a golf course.
- MC_SB46 (2/5): Premier Grim - Terribly grim hotel overlooking McDonalds in Cirencester. Poorly cleaned room, and the onsite restaurant served food I hadn’t seen since the 1980’s. Staff were miserable and unhelpful. Suggest this hotel is renamed Premier Grim. Have never used a budget hotel before and certainly won’t do again.
- gbaias (4/5): OK Place to Stay - Staff Awful - We stayed here for a couple of nights
Our room was OK (218) - lift access to all floors
Our room was large - clean
Our room was air conditioned - but had NO safe, no fridge
Tea and coffee was provided - during our stay our room was not serviced at any time
The staff at the hotel - both reception and the restaurant/breakfast room - were some of the most rudest/uninterested we had come across - a simple "hello " or thank you when we wished staff a good morning was not to much to ask for - but we lucky to get a grunt let alone a response
We had dinner at the attached restaurant - and we were "ripped off" on the bill - we were overcharged. We brought this to the attention of the cashier/staff at the restaurant - but were told to pay what the bill was - no adjusting the bill , no discussion - bad luck. We asked to speak to the manager - but were fobbed off "there is no manager"- we of course wrote to the hotel outlining what had happened, but to date have not even received any response - this has of course left us disappointed to say the least
The breakfast in the restaurant was adequate - nothing special but adequate
- Flackadder (8/5): Great, as expected. - Great experience...as expected here. Clean and tidy and even with the work being done on the building, we heard nothing,
- C7298AOtonyr (10/5): Great service - Girl behind the bar was brilliant, really friendly and helpful. Couldn’t help us enough, we use this site for business quite often so knowing this staff member is so good at her job will keep us coming back
- craigaH5828WM (10/5): Relaxing Stay - Lovely, relaxed short break with a friend, Quiet hotel, room clean, great sleep and we spent the evening in the onsite bar restaurant, Great staff, looked after by Dan who was behind the bar and taking the orders for food. Order was cooked/served quickly and food was hot and tasty. I went for the Falafel and Followed up with a Gourmet burger and Fries, My Friend had the Sirloin Steak (medium) which cooked perfectly by Dan. A great evening with good food.
- petersU8920DM (10/5): Customer Service - Excellent Service, I stayed over on 7th October for one night, Joanne on reception was extremely helpful and professional, she restored my faith in customer service and I will definitely use this particular Premier Inn again...
She is a credit and an asset
- J1818MLsteveb (10/5): Friendly and welcoming staff. Would visit again. - Great location, excellent and friendly staff. Clean and fresh looking inside and out. The restaurant has recently been changed from a Beefeater to a 'Social' and the menu could be better, along with a better selection of beer/ale at the bar. But what was available was very nice and presented very well.
- G1946GBleonardc (10/5): Charlotte Court - Excellent service
Room lovely and clean
Staff friendly and helpful
Continental and full English breakfast delighful
- StuSummers (10/5): Great base for a journey stopover in an interesting and beautiful town - We used this hotel for a single night stop over on our way to Cornwall from Liverpool to break the journey.
It was a great base to explore the town, as it was our first time in Cirencester and would be more than happy to stay here again if we ever came back to explore further.
The person on reception was overrun at Check In with simultaneous check in arrivals, but she performed well and with good humour. She then went onto serve us in the bar and gave us the pointer for our evening meal, which turned out to be a superb Italian restaurant. And she was still serving in the bar, with a smile, when we returned later. A credit to the hotel.
- glenntR9519XM (10/5): Ally is the best - A superb nights stay. Ally Crane was the best duty manager I’ve seen in many years of staying at Premier Inn. She went above and beyond to make sure my stay was good
- geraldineb655 (6/5): Understaffed - Lack of staff. Only one person to look after reception and check in. So had to wait for her return to check in. Only one towel between 2 people. Has to wait at reception to be able to ask for another one. Food at breakfast good but again lack of staff. One person having to do it all. No bowls, yoghurt and fruit almost gone, no croissants, no teaspoons, no small plates, no bacon, only a couple of fried eggs and took last 2 mugs. Issues were over 2 nights stay. Ordered porridge but had to ask again as think she forgot. Saw some people come in without registering as staff member had gone to get my porridge. Dont blame the staff. They are obviously doing their best and with a smile. Do wonder what its like when they are really busy. Blame management for lack of staff to keep on top of things. Also way too hot in room. Need to be able to put air conditioning below 19 degrees. Won't be visiting this one again.
- keithrZ1129IC (8/5): Oct 2025 - building work is now almost complete so no issues re noise etc. the location is good with ample parking. the staff are pleasant, the rooms are pretty standard with shower in Bath. the cooked breakfast had plenty of choice. evening menu was standard for hotels, pizza burgers etc
- 596jackieh (8/5): Staff very helpful. Excellent breakfast. - Staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. Hotel is in the process of being updated. Our bedroom did look a little tired but had everything we needed.
- bt136 (8/5): Excellent staff members - Extremely helpful, friendly and cheerful members of staff which made our stay an even more enjoyable one.
Good location; within a 20/25 minute walk to the town centre and amphitheatre, 10 minutes to Tesco.
No noise from main road.
- caravanrambler72 (6/5): Could do better - First impressions aren't great to be honest. The place looks a little tired, could do with a touch-up of external paint. Very small reception area, and even though we arrived at 6pm the reception was very busy and queuing at the door.
We were met by a lovely lady who booked us in quickly. We were allocated a room on the 3rd floor and proceeded to take our bags to the room. I immediately noticed that we were in a room with an adjoining room - there were only two of us so this was not required. Although the door was locked, I could still hear the TV next door and could see feet underneath. Privacy was therefore zero. I went back downstairs and complained and was told we could move....so why not put us in a suitable room in the first place? If a standard double was available, why not just allocate us one? This is where frustrations grew, as they then wouldn't allow me the new room key to do a straightforward move, we were expected to bring all our bags back downstairs to reception to check in again. Thankfully were not elderly and could carry our bags, but still, it was an inconvenience. Do not allocate people adjoining rooms if they do not ask for one. Simple.
Our new room was clean, although we had to carry up our towels in additional to our bags. The adjoining bar area is a little sad, with only one lovely young lady manning the bar. This was a Friday night and incredibly busy, shame on Premier Inn for expecting her to run it alone. Cocktails were on offer, but there was no way she could make these given how busy the bar was, so everyone had to settle for a standard drink. Based on this, we only stayed for one drink. We wanted to go for a drink the next day (Saturday afternoon), but the bar was shut.
Overall we had an ok stay but would we return? No. The location is too far out from the centre of Cleethorpes (although there is a bus stop outside), the place looks untidy, room allocation is poor and the bar operates at a slow pace.
- amsjadee11 (10/5): Thank you Leah! - Leah is truly an asset to your hotel! We stayed for 2 nights for a local family wedding and could not fault Leah’s hard work and dedication across our trip. Nothing was ever too much for her even though it was busy and felt understaffed, thank you Leah. I hope management notice this and give her the praise she deserves :)
- ruthhA5481QS (10/5): Lovely stay sunny stay - A brilliant stay at the Cleethorpes Premier Hotel - the weather of course helped which was brilliantly sunny and warm which made our 2 x day stay very enjoyable
The receptionist was brilliant and could not do enough to help us - having a disabled husband with arthritis and eating allergies my self makes overnight stays challenging- so we were very impressed with the friendliness and helpful staff
The room was very accessible with plenty of room for moving around - comfortable bed if a bit low
Clean and tidy and fairly quiet
Excellent service
- N7731FPharryd (10/5): Leah in the restaurant! - Leah in the restaurant/bar part of the hotel is an absolute gem! She is coping with an incredible amount of work and still manages to lift spirits and make the stay really special. You can tell that she cares deeply and goes above and beyond everyone else, when really, she shouldn’t. I was so surprised to see that she was on her own in the bar the entire evening and then would be back in the morning for breakfast times. And without even complaining, she stands out with her incredible personality and top tier service. Despite doing the whole thing pretty much by herself, it feels like you’ve got 10 people waiting hand on foot for you. She is a level above the rest and deserves all the praise. If it wasn’t for her faultless attitude and service - this review could be very different and be focused more on the amount premier inn force their staff to deal with. Not that Leah would even complain about it - when most would. She just gets on with it. I hope the premier inn take notice of this and acknowledge the difference she is making. She is a truly wonderful person. Thank you very much Leah.
- dianedL7807SV (10/5): Great visit - Great service from staff. Friendly on reception and Leah in the bar was amazing, so friendly and chatty and helpful.
Only niggle was the heating in the room didn’t seem to work
- M4476BVzacks (10/5): very good treatment - Went to this hotel with misogynistic views but my perception of reality was altered by the treatment by the staff specifically nat and yaz. As most grimsby fans would say, “🎶woke up this morning feeling fine🎶” and that was how i felt with the treatment by nat and yaz.
- Dilys_Notts_11 (10/5): Comfortable stay - My sister and I stayed for a Wedding and to explore the Cotswolds. Our stay at the hotel was enjoyable. Good location and walking distance into the centre of Cirencester. Friendly staff and a lovely comfortable Premier Plus room. Slept well and liked the full breakfast which was available until 10:30. Dinner choices were limited but plenty for us.
I had been a bit concerned about the limited parking and noise of the building works, but there were no issues. Plenty of parking and no noise.
- kennethcZ4948GZ (8/5): weekend break - nice clean hotel as you expect with Premier Inn, handy for town and well presented also free parking though the evening meal was a bit of a let down,
- Wanderer56228431019 (2/5): Restaurant like the moon no atmosphere - Stopped for 1night booked in at5pm fire alarm went off and everyone came outside 1hour later we was let back in no apology or explanation
I went down for evening meal to there new in house restaurant small and bland ordered fish and chips served with peas or mushy peas and tartar sauce
Was never asked which peas I wanted it came out 40 mins later with garden peas and no tartar sauce I was asked if I wanted any sauces I replied tartar sauce told they had ran out of it
Not great as they also serve fish goujons as a starter with comes with tartar sauce
The fish was hot at one side and cold at the other end no idea how they managed that left cold end and complained they said sorry took it away but never came back to me
Its a 0for customer service
Breakfast was good but this is all self service so no need for customer service
- andrewmI1461AW (2/5): Just not good enough…… - Late advice of building work which clearly had been going on weeks. I was told I’d be refunded for advance food payments at checkout. It took 10 phone calls to get a food refund. Nice one Premier Inn, managing your cashflow at the expense of customers. Promised take way breakfast was demolished by 10 or more builders in reception before any customers could get to it. The room wasnt clean. They asked me for an automated post stay review which they said would go on Trip Advisor, well it hasnt been posted so here we go.
- zarthostiEpicurean (6/5): 4 day stay in Premier Inn Hotel, Cirencestar, Cotswald - Room was good sized and had a settee, it was overlooking the main entrance of hotel.
Bed and pillows were comfy.
There was no fridge in the room, nor was there an iron and ironboard.
There were no slippers neither shower cap for my wife. I went down to enquire at Reception and she replied these items aren't provided. :-(
Tea and coffe was provided in the room.
We booked the hotel knowing that the restaurant was under renovation and breakfast wouldn't be served. But we werwe infmd that alternate arrangements wud be made. If you have charged us the original rates whc included breakfast then we expected much more then the insipid croissant and green apples ,bananas laid out in the small lobby. You shud hv offered us small cups of yoghurt, small portions of cereals with fresh milk, some sandwiches, more fruits, like plums, berries, peaches etc.
The carpet in room was not hoovered, the desk was not wiped clean, during our 4 d stay.
You didnt have a system in place where we can hang the Notice on our door instructing hotel to clean the room . You didnt inform us that we had to come down and inform Receptionist to clean our Room !!!
We did that once we learnt of this NEW RULE.
We are international Travellers and haven't come across this sort of a Rule !
The toilet and bath tub were cleaned well. Towels and napkins were changed every two days whc is very acceptable as we believe in "saving the earth".
There were no water bottles provided in room.
Air-condition system was operating well.
These are our healthy and honest feedback. We had paid you more than we paid Novotel Hotel in Leeds City and expected much better amenities.
I look forward to hearing from you re: the corrective actions that you plan to put in place.
Frankly I expect a refund in part, for the Rubbish "breakfast" provided.

- karinbZ1648GA (2/5): Spoilt weekend - Rooms basic, for the money charged.
Breakfast was a below standard croissant and fruit as restaurant was being refurbished. Self service coffee machine empty.
Friends entered their room and it hadn't been cleaned from previous guests!
- Lola2066 (8/5): Great Hotel in convenient location! - Great hotel, conveniently located for Cotes and surrounding area. I stayed in Premier plus room. The bed was super comfy and the room was very spacious! Large tv, coffee and tea, iron and ironing board were very much appreciated. Good clean bathroom with pleasantly scented body wash. Love soft pillow and crisp white bed linen. Good free parking and quick and convenient check in. friendly staff. The only problem was that restaurant was closed so complementary breakfast in the reception was very poor (choc pastry and apples).
- F5189MWsueh (4/5): What was promised was not what we got - Bed was really comfy BUT the room was very stuffy and the air conditioner wouldn't go down in temperature and the fan didn'twork either. Shower was barely warm enough and only 2 tea bags. No fridge. Only 2 pillows. No flannels. Not informed at time of booking by phone that there was currently no restaurant for breakfast or dinner. Definitely too expensive for what was provided. We should not have had to pay full price.
