Guest Reviews
- Ann Marie (6/5): - 4th stay at this location. The hotel is getting shabby! Staff is lovely, service was wonderful!
- I5906ZJkatel (6/5): Friendly staff and clean room. - Initial impressions weren’t great- dirty revolving door and reception tiles covered in leaves and debris.
However, very warm welcome by staff made me feel hopeful.
Took the unloved and unclean lift to the 5th floor where we entered our room.
All good here! Very clean. Super-comfy bed.
The curtains had a tear but served their purpose.
Can’t comment on food but suited us for a night in order to visit the Uni Open Day in Newcastle.
You get what you pay for which is a clean and comfortable room.
- P2763TAgaill (2/5): Cold - Absolutely freezing. The hotel & the room. Breakfast was cold too. Staff were lovely
Room keys stopped working at 10.30am
- Trip35488588997 (2/5): Very unhappy stay - Room was nor prepared no bedding,no towels,no tea/coffee and was freezing cold when my partner asked for towels they were literally thrown at her in temper in the reception
- GrandTour42960313107 (8/5): Good staff, needs an update. - The hotel is well situated to get into Newquay and the surrounding areas, it has a good sized car park, th staff were really good, the rooms are clean and tidy, however they could do with an update as looking a bit tired, on the whole it is a good place location wise and dealt with what we required at the time. thank you to the staff.
- Mr Kevin (10/5): - Everything was godd
- shheze (8/5): Quiet comfortable night - Stayed here for one night. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Only one towel for two people. No drinking glasses. Tea and coffee were minimal and barely any liquid soap. Was nice and quiet for the evening, I think this would be an issue if not in an even number room though. Noisy traffic in the morning as shoppers driving to the shops right next to you so I don’t think ideal in warmer weather when you would like a window open. Premier inn sign was covered in green mould on the building outside.
- swissonj (8/5): Great Premier Inn in fantastic location - Great location. Great Staff. As with any Premier Inn the rooms are the same the bathroom is the same. If you have stayed in one you know what to expect. For the price you pay they great value.
Breakfast is wonderful a full freshly cooked English.
Tea and Coffee facilities in the room , if you need more just ask at reception.
I just wish if you have an older teenager you could still get a family room.
- debbie_southbank (2/5): Beware of being fined for leaving - On Sunday 12th October I booked in and put my car number plate into the system.I have today received a parking fine from Horizon stating the time of 0801 Monday 13th, which was not my time of arrivsl but time of leaving as had an 08.30 appointment.
Horizon are obviously a dubious company who try to make money from customers staying at this hotel. As many may leave later han 0801. beware. Obviously I cannot get any response from the hotel as their trlephone number is incorrect nor can get a copy of my booking to show Horizon I was a guest at the hotel. Given I have retuned from another visit and was going o make another booking I will have to think about staying there again.
- ASM1968 (8/5): Good but cleaning needs attention - I stay at Premier Inns very frequently and love this hotel chain. The Teams Valley Premier Inn has an in-house restaurant. Service and food were good. The Premier room was spacious with a fridge and coffee machine as expected. Cleanliness is most important to me. Unfortunately the furniture surfaces weren’t clean. They were dusty and the bedside tables had sticky stains. I had to wipe them down myself. At least the bathroom and the bed were clean. The cleaning team needs to pay more attention to the surfaces.
- ceesndimunnik (10/5): Lovely stay, home from home - A really lovely place to stay, very comfortable beds, clean, and very obliging staff especially one member called Nicky Partridge who went out of her way to make our stay extra special.
Thank you for a lovely stay 😊
- ACP1963 (6/5): Very average - 2nd stay. Staff very friendly. Drinks expensive with very limited choice. Not a proper bar. Restaurant, poor quality evening meals. Breakfast, normal cheap stuff (awful scrambled eggs). If you stay here, go over the road to eat and drink. It’s better quality and cheaper.
- DebbieE132 (10/5): Easy Access from A30 and to many places in Cornwall - An accessible hotel with a lift, good comfortable room, great staff both in reception and in the restaurant/bar.
The food and service of a high quality and well worth the meal deal.
Low bath means many can access the shower, but if elderly you do need to take care.
Near a roundabout and some traffic at night but nothing to disturb the quality of your sleep.
Certainly would make it my base for a break in Cornwall as easy access to the Eden Project, Cornish North Coast and A30 to St Ives and Penzance and a day trip to the Scilly Isles.
- l0u222 (10/5): Well wortg the price - Easy access to the main A30
Clean and tidy, welcoming at reception.
Room clean and tidy.
Breakfast cooked to order which ment very fresh and delicious. Well worth the money. Stay every time in Cornwall.
- 575lesp (6/5): Good stay evening meal dissappointing - Meal deal was dissapointing. Bedroom as expected always good. Breakfast again always good. Woukd stay again but not eat tea in would venture out
- Z8358MNalans (10/5): Really pleased we chose Premier Inns - Really central yet amazingly quiet location in Cornwall just off the A30. Located in a shopping village it benefits from M&S, Boots, TKMax, Starbucks, and 24hr McDonalds as well as a well equipped 24hr Shell fuel station amongst the outlets within 100m of the hotel.
A very friendly atmosphere made all the more appealing by a room that was both clean and well appointed with an en-suite shower and bathroom.
- FarAway30875006151 (10/5): Really good value - Such good value for money. Clean and spacious rooms convenient for the airport. Excellent breakfast really reasonably priced and as much as you can eat continental and traditional English cooked to order. Free parking and polite staff.
- 163gerhardj (2/5): Xenophobic and homophobic - Terrible treatment from the time we arrived to when we left! Will never ever go back.
The male receptionist is xenophobic and homophobic and made my partner and i feel extremely anxious and uncomfortable!
Put a massive damper on the birthday celebration so much so that we spent as little time there as possible. Also no air con and the fan provided was very load and the shower curtain was old and dirty.
- Passport48842783112 (10/5): Worth every penny! With first class staff! - Alex really went the extra mile, and made my stay perfect!
I wanted to upgrade to the Plus room when I rang earlier, but understandably they were fully booked. The lady said try when I check in but there was no guarantee.
When I arrived Alex (with the help of a lovely lady I didn’t get the name of sorry)
had bit of wrestle with the system, but managed to override and get me upgraded.
For £15 a night it was worth every penny to have absolute tranquility on the top floor. Considering the hotel was full I only heard one door shut all weekend.
Also to have a fridge with water and a cheeky sweet treat was just the cheery on the cake. The hotel is so handy for local amenities and access to Newcastle. If I had been staying longer I would have love to have tried the unlimited Breakfast.
A genuine huge thank you to all of you! You should be proud of what you achieved on a daily basis.
Thank you and I promise to come back soon with the family and for longer
- ousby2014 (10/5): Fantastic staff, great food - We stayed here for 4 nights, had 3 evening meals, 2 breakfasts. The staff are fantastic, nothing too much trouble. Great service, even on a busy Saturday when an offer was on. They are so friendly and welcoming. Food was great, well presented, piping hot and tasty. We will definitely be coming back.
- HartleyDi (10/5): An excellent one night stay. - All excellent. Very clean and quiet room. Comfy bed. Easy parking.
Good food in busy Table Table restaurant where we ate in the evening.
- KerryS76 (4/5): Just ok for a quick stop. - Came here staying for just 2 nights as a base for visiting family.
Got here an hour early and asked if we were able to check in early but was told it would be £15 so chose to visit nearby shops.
When we got into the room it was nice and big, bathroom was clean and a good size.
Only 1 bedside table so had to pull the chair over to the other. There is just 1 usb port on each side of the bed, no plug sockets. The only plug sockets are on the other side of the room and there is a total of 3 sockets 2 of which occupied with the hair dryer and a lamp.
No shaver point in the bathroom.
We noticed a funny smell in the room which we thought would disappear but it didn’t, it smelt musty and a bit like cigars. We spoke to reception who gave us a bottle of air freshener, this worked for a few minutes but the smell lingered and smelt quite chemically. It kept waking me up. The 2nd day we were out all day so left the window open so it could air out, but when we came back 8 hours later the room still smelt really musty and chemically.
Staff were nice but wouldn’t stay here again, will stay at quintrell downs as we never had this issue there
- dpage99 (6/5): Umm Well… - Friendly enough staff. Lots of information about the local area. Train station within easy access, Spar shop for basics near by. Lots of room for parking, just be careful of the company work vans as they seemed to take up 30% of the car park. Noisy road around the front. Which was fine until the morning traffic and the car horns and some local (I say local as heard it every morning) idiot on his/her motorcycle revving his/her engine outside on the main road. Between 6am-10am kept getting woken up by that or someone slamming the door as they went down the stairs nearby.
Inside the lift needed cleaning, did tell someone in reception, but obviously went in one ear and out the other.
I get the impression that it wasn't originally a Premier Inn as the furniture in the room wasn't their normal standard.
Only the bed and carpet seamed to be theirs. The shower curtain, might as well not have it, as the water ended up on the floor. Had to be careful getting out as made the floor very slippery.
Deep breaths, sigh. The WiFi, oh my it was rubbish. When your phone signal is that bad, you should be able to have some decent WiFi. Nope! Not here. They want you to buy their premium package. As their normal WiFi was so slow. I ended up having to put my 5g iPad on the window ledge and to share the signal to my phone. Even then I only had two bars of 4g signal, and that was better than their wifi.
The Table Table pub on site. Only ate there twice. Food was of good quality and good portions. However both times there were items missing off the menu. Not just this site, but seams to be a problem at all of on-site Premier Inn bars or restaurants.
Breakfast was good, but depending on what time you go down for it you might get stale bread and pastries. Guess if you're going to toast the bread it doesn't matter. Just check the setting on the toaster as mine came out black.
Had to put it into the bin, and try again. The breakfast team were good and attentive. Answered any questions needed.
- 531cipriann (2/5): Next time, you won't see me there anymore. - We stayed overnight from 29 to 30 August 2025. When we arrived there, the reception was a bit tired. We provided all the information, including the car's license plate, and everything seemed fine. Today, a surprise: the Horizontparhing parking fine... the lady forgot or made a mistake in registering the car... thanks for the nice surprise. Next time, you won't see me there anymore.
- 964JohnH (6/5): Frqddon premier inn a30 - On arrival the check in was ok but could have been better as the 2 people at the desk would rather talk to each other it seemed.
So i let this go as they seemed like nice people.
We then went to our room and found it looking like it needed a bit of updating.
Ie the toilet basin cracked and broken ,dents in the walls ,and mould inbetween the tiles in the bathroom.
Maybe abetter maintenance schedule needed here?
We then went next door to the restaurant which was ok the drinks was fine but the chefs need a little lesson in not overcooking foods..
I have stayed at this place several times over the years as its very handy for newquay .
I am not sure about going again now .i really did expect better.
- michaele831 (10/5): Another excellent stay - An excellent hotel, have stayed here for the past 6 years, staff are always very friendly and helpful, and always willing to help
- Rockyroscoe (10/5): Lovely stay with a warm welcome - Lovely stay and a warm welcome from the receptionist who checked us in. Large room, comfortable bed and great shower and clean bathroom
- ShamimSarkar (2/5): Disappointed with Service at Premier Inn Newcastle (Team Valley) - I’ve been a regular customer of Premier Inn for years, but my recent stay at the Team Valley location was unfortunately the worst experience I’ve had.
We arrived late on Thursday and went straight to bed, only to discover sand in the bedding during the night. I reported this to the Duty Manager on Friday morning and asked for the bedding to be changed. When we returned around 5pm, the room hadn’t been cleaned at all.
Later that evening, I spoke to another Duty Manager, Harleen Sanghera, around 6:30pm and repeated my request to have the bedding changed. After returning from dinner at 9pm, we found that only one of the beds had been made—the second was left untouched. When I went down to raise the issue again, Harleen claimed I hadn’t asked for both beds to be changed, which was frustrating and frankly insulting. She then asked us to wait downstairs while someone came to fix it, but we were exhausted and declined.
Her attitude was surprisingly dismissive, and not what I expect from Premier Inn staff. This experience has made me question the consistency of service and staff training at this location. I hope Premier Inn takes this feedback seriously and invests in better staff development to maintain the standards loyal customers have come to expect.
- E5739AOeduardom (10/5): Very pleasant 2 weeks stay at Premier Inn Team Valley, Gateshead, United Kingdom - Surprisingly good location, no frills, wonderful staff, very attentive at all needs, all the time. Accessible bathroom met requirements, would have liked to have some more storage facility in the room and a higher and firmer bed mattress. Looking forward to additional stays whenever the opportunity arises.
- F8102BEsimone (8/5): Weekend away - The hotel looks very tired from the outside but once inside room was very modern and upto date although next door to a dual carriageway you could not hear anything in the room.
- Trek43635167967 (10/5): There when you really need them. - After a different hotel let us down my wife and I were overjoyed that premier inn was there to save the trip for us. Managed to book a room in minutes and spent 2 lovely days with them.
The staff were lovely, caring and asked us several times over the 2 days if we were alright after a disastrous friday let down by another hotel.
- crustyo (2/5): It is HOT, HOT, HOT! - I went for 4 nights with my wife and granddaughter over the August bank holiday 2025. I used to stay here back in the 90s and sadly nothing has changed buildings-wise. Back then there was a problem with noise, now the problem is HEAT. Room was 26.5°C (outside temp was 14°C) when we arrived with a fan on No. 12 maximum blow, which just moved the hot air around the room, it is NOT aircon. The window opens around 5cm, just not enough to make a difference. The room was just a sauna with a bathroom that smelt of damp and mould. The net curtains were dirty and the room was sweltering, just like a sauna. Terrible sleep due to heat, and clothes stuck to me for same reason after showering. I tried to get a change of towels and bins emptied after two days, however there was no one on reception to ask, I had to leave a note on a tourist leaflet, then saw receptionist having a chat in the corridor with a cleaner. The cleaners left two fresh towels and emptied my bin only.
I paid £331 for 4 nights, not a King's ransom, but an average of £82.75 which is far more than it was worth. The receptionist told me that all the guests complain about the heat, but it is NOT mentioned in their advertising, which I think borders on dishonesty.
I will NOT stay here again
- Micknjan (10/5): Relaxing - Great food, Great service, lovely room, comfortable bed, friendly service. Easy parking. Lift to all floors. Nice and warm room.
- dianeharris59 (10/5): Some quality time as a couple chilling and relaxing - We came to the newcastle (team valley ) premier inn on the 29th August for 3 nights all staff Nadine, Eve and Michael and any more staff that we've met since staying here. The hotel is very clean and nothing is too much for all the staff who have made our stay lovely and we would definately return. Thanks again guys keep up the good work. Di/Paul Harris
- deborahmW8503VF (10/5): Extremely helpful and friendly staff - I would like to say a big thank you to Nadine. We arrived and had two separate bookings that we wanted to merge, both different style rooms and the lovely Nadine sorted everything out for us. It was totally our mistake as we had booked the wrong rooms, but she managed to do it all for us and also sorted out our breakfasts, from a very misleading email from Premier Inn. Thank you once again Nadine and we hope to see you again on the return leg of our trip!
- 851wendaw (4/5): 3 days holiday in Cornwall - Just got back from this Premier Inn have stayed here several times over the years. It has gone down big time it looks grubby from the outside, net curtains were filthy as were the windows, mould on bottom of shower curtain only good thing was the fan in the room. The pub next door is also grubby and food is awful both places need a serious upgrade, will not be staying at this one again.
- Q1890SPfm (8/5): Pleasant Stay - We stayed at the Premier Inn Quintrell Downs and had a really pleasant experience. The staff were friendly and accommodating & when we asked to change rooms due to a bathroom smell, they handled it quickly and arranged for a new room the following morning.
Our family room had the usual comfortable Premier Inn layout. Despite the hotel being busy, it was surprisingly quiet with no disturbances, so we had a restful stay. Breakfast was good (you do need to book a table), and there was free parking on site which made things easy.
It’s in a great location—around a 10-minute drive to Fistral Beach and other nearby spots. We also appreciated the ample supply of tea and coffee available at reception.
There is a Spar close by which has all essentials that you may require.
Overall, a good stay and we’d happily recommend it.
- 166leighf (10/5): One night stay - The staff make this hotel all attentive friendly and professional.
Evening meal was excellent room very good bed comfortable.
- cloverock43 (10/5): Great hotel Great experience - Stayed for 3 nights Premier Plus room with breakfast. Room was spotless and very well equipped. Staff were very friendly and polite. Ample parking and situated in a good spot for easy access into Newcastle and surrounding areas.
- pab141980 (6/5): All as expected but soooo hot - All good and as expected however the room was so hot (28 degrees) which made it difficult to sleep. A fan was provided however this didn’t make a great deal of difference.
- 299alliec (8/5): The good, the bad and the info - The good:
- lovely staff
- fantastic service
- great restaurant, especially for breakfast
The bad:
- the lift and stairs are keycard locked
- the sink is terribly designed in a way that makes it hard to get your hands in the stream properly
- the bath is shaped in a way that makes your feet hurt if you stand in it to have a shower
- fixed shower head
- the sofas in the bar are a bit hard
The info:
- you might think based on the photo which shows the hotel being conjoined to a gym that gym access is included. It's not, and in fact the gym doesn't offer non-member access
- no laundry service
- the restaurant only has skin-on chips
- blinking LED on the smoke detector, very bright LED on the TV, both in view of the bed. If this keeps you awake like it does me and you don't have any tape or stickers to block them, the adhesive on the seals on the spare pillow bag is strong enough to do the job
- SRoberts94 (10/5): Top notch premier inn - Lovely large rooms and very comfortable beds and pillows. Hotel was very clean throughout, smelling noticably fresh - there is obviously a very good cleaning team here and they keep on top of things. Staff were excellent - helpful and friendly. The next-door pub was great for breakfast, and for dinner as well offering good value meals. Great hotel location - you can get a bus right over the road straight into Newquay (£5 return). Would definitely return - this offered good value and good service.
- W8497SS (10/5): Superb Stay in a Thoughtfully Designed Hotel - This is a great hotel in a great location. Its clean, tidy and welcoming. The staff are really friendly and helpful and everything is efficient and well thought out.
The beds are so incredibly comfortable, and there is attention to detail like carpets in the halls and extra glazing on the windows to ensure you do not have a poor nights sleep.
The breakfasts are amazing, so much food and such nice food as well. I do wish the hot buffet was open, but we still got everything we wanted and needed by superbly friendly and helpful staff.
The hotel has plenty of free parking as well, something which feels like an actual luxury in its own right nowadays, FREE parking! And there is enough to go around!
Overall, really pleased with our stay, couldn't have been better.
- G720JOsuet (4/5): Wouldn’t go there again ! - Very noisy . Very hot in the corridors and in the room . Bathroom dirty . Hairdryer not working . Breakfast on the second day was cold .
- S5994WZmichaelc (10/5): Great rooms, lovely staff - Rooms are fantastic: massive comfy bed, chaise longe, desk with chair, big tv, loads of storage mirrors and lights, big oscillating fan, tea and coffee making facilities, big bathroom with bayliss and Harding toiletries, shower and bath. Awesome
- johnmA5409VW (6/5): no breakfast - on the whole this is a great hotel.however on the sunday the oven was not working and no continental breakfast was available i was not issued a refund for no breakfast.
- Compass26257673761 (8/5): Cheap and cheerful. Good location for exploring Cornwall, - Good location. Not in the town centre but a good spot for planning trips to other places in Cornwall.
We went for 3 nights Thurs to Sat. Check the daily rates before booking. I was surprised on the week I booked that Tuesday was more expensive that Saturday. Each day is different.
Didn't like the fact that the rooms weren't turned down at all during our stay. We would have liked the rubbish bin emptied, even if only every other day. There were no drinking glasses provided. No fridge.
On the plus side the breakfast was very good. On the Friday and Saturday morning they were made to order but on Sunday it was buffet style - not as good.
We've stayed at this premier at Quintrell Downs several times and it suits our needs and does offer fairly good value for money. The staff are always polite and courteous.
- quickp (6/5): Needs work - Bedroom was find don't agree with asking for a room to be cleaned and the added extra you pay for in premium rooms only happens on first day. No air con in the rooms which ours was at 27.5 to 29 degrees in the evening so very hard to get a good night's sleep
- wheelies130 (10/5): July 2025 visit - We stayed here again this time for my birthday and has everything we require for our needs.
We were greated by Bernice who went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as possible, (Thankyou).
Her team also couldn't be more helpful, and nothing was a problem.
Rooms are very clean and tidy and a convenient lift is available.
A free carpark with plenty of space was nice to see.
Great location for Newquay with train and bus services good this time of year.
All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel and will be going back soon. Thx to the whole team 👏
- Evie2007 (6/5): 2 night stay - Quick weekend stay as a base for going to Beamish. I had stopped at this hotel 3 year previous and enjoyed the stay so booked again for a good price. The hotel now looks like it needs a good clean. The rooms looked really run down with marks on all the walls and a grubby bathroom. The room was comfortable though and I slept well for the stay. The breakfast the next morning was disgusting. All the hot food was sat under lamps, dried up and it all tasted horrible, it really was not edible and given the selection and quality is really expensive for the price they charge, I would eat of site if you plan on eating.
- Rochford_Essex (8/5): Four days in Quintrell Downs - Despite only two of us booking the room had two additional single beds. At no time did these get removed or packed away. Good food in the restaurant although only one salad was disappointing, especially in summer. Each day we asked for the room to be service, however this was only done once during our four day stay.
- 137debbiew (10/5): Excellent service as always in Quinterell Downs - The staff are fabulous especially the Lady on Reception we was working Friday and Saturday night 11th and 12th 3 until 11pm and Monday morning she even remembered our visit in Dec 24. Rooms clean nice base for Newquay and surrounding areas
- P8088WTthomasg (10/5): Family stay - Stayed with family for a couple of nights. Comfortable hotel and good value. Useful bus stop outside of hotel. Will return when back in the area.
- benlZ2454MB (10/5): Great overall experience - Great overall experience, clean room attentive staff and plenty of room for my young family
A special shout out for Kathy in the restaurant, I'm not a morning person but she was brilliant every single breakfast time and so attentive to my family as a whole!
- neilsX6269JW (10/5): Definitely worth the visit. - The staff were superb, the hotel is in the perfect location for exploring Cornwall.
Dean and Berniece are so beautiful nothing too much trouble. Thank you so much for a fantastic stay we will be back. Dean made our evening meal such a treat one very funny man. Such a credit to the business.
- andrewhH8432XS (10/5): Fantastic Room, Location, Service and Staff - Me my wife and daughter spent me and my wife's 10th anniversary weekend break here. The location was fantastic Rooms clean and friendly staff. Special thnx goes out to Craig and Trudy on Reception who were particularly attentive to us thnx.
- Voyage51982270425 (6/5): Poor Customer Service - The hotel was in my opinion average, across the board, dated and a little untidy. On a plus side the staff were helpful, until the week after I left when I got a parking fine of £57 for the Wednesday night. I had stayed Monday to Friday and booked in for parking on screen as guided by a member of staff.
How was it possible to get a parking fine for the Wednesday?.
I of course appealed on line, and I called the hotel who were going to sort it and call me back.
After numerous calls and 2 weeks later, I received an email stating the “parking fine appeal had been successful”. No apology, no nothing.
Sorry but I won’t be using Fraddon premier Inn again.
- 223kazb (4/5): Room smelt damp - We arrived at this Premier Inn in the mid evening as we had just come off the boat from the Isles of Scilly. When we walked in the room is smelt damp and there was a dyson type air conditioner on. We nearly went back to reception to ask for another room.
We could not leave it on overnight as it was noisy. The dyson control wasnt left so we couldnt switch it back on either. This made the stay disappointing. We managed to get a parking space easily and its by McDonalds and a retail part and by the A30 so handy. Nice towels. Think it was room 20 on the end of the corridor. Would not be good for asthmatic people
- L8768WHneilg (2/5): Mouldy stay - The Hotel isn't bad as long as you don't get a room on the end. As soon as we opened the door the smell of Mould hit me in the face...when I complained all we got was a spray around the room whilst we had dinner. We did get a move for our second evening but spent most of our stay in a room which most likely should be a cleaning store room. Very disappointed would not recommend, I would say avoid and stay elsewhere.
- ruchis2014 (10/5): Family Bank Holiday Weekend - Great staff and pleasant stay..
The view are nice and really nice location
Had a good family weekend
The breakfast was good value for money
Ample Free Parking available which is a bonus point
This place is close to places like Lands End, Fistreal Beach and to retail park
Worth a drive
- Xhara71 (2/5): Hot, stuffy room, terrible nights sleep - One of the worse nights sleep I’ve ever had in a premier inn. My choice was to try and sleep in an extremely hot stuffy room or open the window (it only opens a small amount and then have a slightly cooler room but listen to the Lorry’s rumbling pass on the A30. The room came with a Dyson fan but that was of little effect. I had one of the rooms closest to the main road and as soon as I checked in mid afternoon I asked to change to one further away but was told the hotel was virtually full so there was nothing they could do.
I tend to pick premier inns as you know what standard you’re getting, I won’t pick this one ever again.
- ChamathJ (8/5): Good Stay, but Bring Your Own Water - We stayed at Premier Inn Newquay as a family of five. The front desk staff were okay — polite but not particularly welcoming. One thing to note: make sure you bring your own bottled water! The only option to buy water at the hotel was through the restaurant bar, and the prices were very expensive (charged per ml, which felt like a real rip-off). Even the restaurant staff agreed and kindly advised me to pick some up from the petrol station kiosk right next door, which worked out much cheaper.
On the bright side, breakfast the next morning was excellent. The food was well-cooked, plenty of options available, and the breakfast team were really friendly and helpful.
Overall, it was a comfortable stay in a good location. We'd stay again but would definitely come better prepared next time!
