Guest Reviews
- sunSussex (2/5): Dirty - Dirty lots of issues not addressed. Shower disgusting not cleaned lots of buildup resudue
Taps sink not clean. Dust on TV screen. No comprimise over refund.
Dirty public areas.
- Ozzy_Traveller82 (4/5): Bed bugs??? - Stayed for 1 night. Usual premier inn stuff, all fine, except a couple of days later one in the party of 3 had bites.
Reviewed all avenues and concluded this stay was the only time the bites could have happened.
Wrote to premier inn to advise. They said “We are sorry to learn that bites were sustained during your stay and want to assure you that, at Premier Inn, we take matter of this nature very seriously.”. They continued saying an independent report was done and no bed bugs were present but when I asked for a copy of the report they declined to share it.
If not bed bugs, I still believe there was something found on the report for them not to share, especially when their apology said “We are sorry to learn that bites were sustained during your stay”, this portrays guilt in my head, like they weren’t surprised!
I wish I had read trip advisor reviews prior to booking because I would have avoided the location as others had encountered bed bugs before.
No compensation or refund offered. Very disappointed in Premier Inn and we have lost confidence with the establishment as a whole.
- marymary27 (8/5): Excellent location once found - Arriving by train on a rainy evening the hotel was difficult to find, it is tucked away on a side street next to Lime Street Station, but not prominently signed or lit. A helpful local directed me. Once in the Reception area, I tried to use one of the machines to check in, but it was very slow. A staff member did come after a few minutes and checked me in at the desk. My room was clean and comfortable. However it was quite dark, even in daylight. The window was long and narrow, and at an angle in a corner. The refreshment box only contained two tea bags, I think there could have be3n more. I know extras are easily available from Reception, but this means trailing though the hotel corridors. The hotel location is excellent though.
- ileftmyheartinTokyo (6/5): Disappointing for a premier inn - I usually love a Premier Inn, but this stay at Liverpool Lime Street was a bit of a letdown. The bed was a little squidgy and not as comfortable as they usually are, and the blackout curtain didn’t fully close so the bright lights outside came straight through.
There was no iron in the room or an ironing room that I could find, and I didn’t have time in the morning to ask for one to be sent up.
Breakfast was also disappointing as the plates and cups didn’t feel very clean, the “warm” plates were actually cold, and so was the food.
The TV in the breakfast area was on a shopping channel, which felt like an odd choice (I get not wanting to put the news on, but surely there’s a happy medium!).
Finally, I was told I’d need to make a donation to their charity to leave my luggage, which felt a bit awkward — I didn’t have any change, and although the staff member did then say it was okay, it left me uncomfortable.
Overall, not the usual reliable Premier Inn experience I’ve come to expect.
- LesleyP896 (10/5): Great hotel location with easy access to everywhere - Great location for central Liverpool. 2 mins from Lime Street. Quiet room. Friendly staff. Breakfast fab. Q Park parking nearby and 20% discount with Premier In value.
- Penguin66 (6/5): Nice Premier Inn but… - I’ve stayed here a handful of times when visiting Liverpool as it’s very handily for connections into the city centre. But on weekends when there is football/events in Liverpool, central hotels become very expensive - as was the case this weekend. Roby Premier Inn is a 5 minute walk to Roby station which is 3 stops/15 minutes from Lime Street.
This premier inn is an old country house - Derby Lodge - so not a typical Premier inn ‘accommodation block’ but a nice charming old building and which makes some of the rooms very big or characterful or both. If possible I would stay in an upper floor with a view of the rear courtyard. The bar/restaurant here is also larger than you would usually find in a generic premier inn. The breakfast however is - as elsewhere - not nearly as good as it used to be so we don’t normally bother any more.
There is lots of free parking at this hotel.
We stayed 2 nights. Our room (5) was on the ground floor. It was an older room which needed updating. We arrived/checked in very late which maybe why we got this room. It does need updating. The bathroom is showing its age and is tatty. Some rooms here have very good walk in showers, unfortunately this room isn’t one of those with a tiny bath with a poor shower over it. The bath isn’t long enough for a fully grown adult. But it is deep which makes stepping in/out trickier than it should be. It also has a shower curtail which does little to keep the rest of the room floor from getting wet.
I know this happens in other budget hotel but Premier Inn still come in and clean/make beds/ change towels and we put the sign in the door asking for it to be serviced and let reception know . But to no avail and after a long day in town we returned late to a room unattended and with wet towels left in the bath as they should be when waiting to be changed. The lady in the reception night shift was very apologetic but at that time of day there was little else she could other do than provide fresh towels. An offer of complimentary breakfast was made but didn’t fit with our plans already made for the next day.
This is a nice Premier Inn but I’ve had much better stays and far better rooms than this one. I hope that breakdown in room service is a blip and not a race to the bottom with other budget hotels.
- IrmzTed (10/5): Premier Inn Liverpool Lime Street - This review started as a one star, whilst waiting at 4.15 on Monday with dozens of other quests for rooms to be available.
Once relaxed in our usual comfortable Premier Inn room and two days of interactions with incredibly pleasant and helpful staff we are back to five stars.
A basic hotel very convenient for the station, no city view but who cares. Well done hard working Premier Inn, Lime Street Station management and staff.
- lashest2025 (8/5): Trip to Roby - Very comfy beds, nice warm room, plenty space for parking, train station only 6 minutes walk from hotel, plenty pubs and restaurants on same road. Friendly staff. Negative- squashed chocolate under bed, should have been found if hoovered. Shower gel bottle empty in the bathroom. On the whole clean room. Breakfast good value and not bad price. Beautiful building facade.
- catherinetU6469BM (10/5): Great Team - If you’re planning a trip to Liverpool and want to stay somewhere that fully welcomes you, I cannot recommend this premier inn enough. The staff are warm, kind, attentive and very welcoming. The special attention they gave to my family and I, was second to none, recognising our difficult circumstances and reason for travelling up to this beautiful city.
Special thanks to Colin, who went above and beyond, the receptionist, barmaid and restaurant manager.
Great team!
- Roam19993110814 (4/5): Great location for central Liverpool but shabbily maintained rooms let it down. - Chose this hotel due to its proximity to the railway station as only visiting for a short time. Location is ideal of travelling by rail. Central to city centre for amenities/theatres etc. Slightly tucked away so noise from outside wasn’t an issue.
Upgraded to a Premier Inn Plus room but was far from Plus! Broken and cracked mirror, unpleasant odour lingering in the bathroom and shabby decor/maintenance. Thankfully the bed was clean and comfy!
Reception was very busy and my schedule didn’t allow me the time to complain and change rooms. Had I been staying longer I’d have persevered in the queue and raised the issues. Similarly at check out I had to jump to self check out in order to beat the long queue and catch my train. Having almost always chosen premier inn for solo trips due to their comfort and uniform standards across the chain, unfortunately this time the hotel fell short.
- BlairDurno96 (10/5): First Time Visit - A wonderful experience during my time visiting. A wonderful welcome at reception. Check In was a breeze. Picked my time for dinner. Dinner was a great experience. Staff were excellent. Food was delicious and good quality. A good night sleep. Followed by a good breakfast in the morning. Good selection available. Perfect walking distance from Lime Street Station. Would definitely stay again.
- F2250EGcraigs (4/5): Terrible - Shower try drain was blocked. Bed side lights didn't work my son had to use my wife's mobile phone light as a night light. Reception charged us the wrong breakfast deal £27 for coffee and cornflakes.... DONT THINKS SO! Weatherspoons around 1 miles away get a full English for and unlimited coffee and jucies for a family of 3 £24 now that's better. The staff was more than happy for us to go else where. And best of it the manager was listening and even let a customer go elsewhere very professional of a business. Staff need a bit of training on customer service at reception. Room wasn't ready till after 5pm when we arrived at the room the staff was cleaning and getting it ready so we had to go back down and wait in the bar for 30 minutes.. would I go back? No not really.
- katybJ6006HG (6/5): A handy spot with decent breakfast. - Clean comfortable rooms in an ideal position for Lyme Street station and The Empire theatre. The outside area leaves a bit to be desired. Watch out for broken glass as you approach the hotel! Some staff are lovely and friendly. Particularly the breakfast chef and a Scottish chap called Alistair ( I think!) A nice area for a drink at the end of the day/evening, if you can find someone to serve you! Breakfast was lovely.
- 373siane (10/5): Great Reasonably Priced Hotel Near Liverpool - We stayed at the Roby Premier Inn for two nights as a base to see some of the sights in Liverpool. We chose this hotel due to its reasonable price and location and free parking too. Staff were very friendly, the room was clean and equipped with all the essentials. Bed was comfy and it was nice and quiet. The grounds of the hotel are lovely...really pleasant to look at whilst in the restaurant. The breakfast was excellent and our waiter was really efficient and pleasant. The only thing that could be improved perhaps was the water pressure in the shower and toilet, but it was adequate and may be partly down to the age of the building. We ate one evening in the restaurant which was very good. The other evening we ate in the Greek restaurant called Steki in Huyton just up the road which was amazing. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this very reasonably priced hotel to anyone wanting a base to explore Liverpool.
- Flyer475096 (10/5): Brilliant hotel and staff - We stayed here for 2 nights on a wee trip to Liverpool a lovely hotel with lovely staff that couldn’t do enough for us. they were all so friendly. We had breakfast 2 mornings and dinner both nights and it was really lovely Chris Holly and lily were lovely as was the rest of the staff. Hotel was very clean and beds were comfy. We would highly recommend this hotel and we can’t wait to our next visit x
- davidmV1895RN (6/5): only very average - The greeting at reception set the mood for my stay, not welcoming, no eye contact very matter of fact. Then the route to my room involved going up in a lift along a corridor through a couple of doors down some steps up some more steps through an other door and then down some more steps. The room its self was fine but there was a lot of noice, people in the room opposite seemed to be having a party. I asked them to keep the noise down but they took no notice. Given the frosty reception I had received I didn't feel inclined to report the noise disturbance. I paid £5 for upgraded wifi but this stopped working at about 10pm it should've lasted 24 hours.
- V1602VZcarolined (2/5): Disappointing stay - The staff were efficient and friendly but the breakfast was very disappointing. My continental option was very limited and basic. No cheese or meats available or tolls. There was a gluten free bread options but limited to how many slices you wanted, the cooked breakfast was poor quality and small. The. building was tired and needed redecorating. Skirting boards were scuffed in the dining area. The ceiling was noisy from the upstairs room better sound proofing is required as the floor boards were squeaky.
- pammZ2083ZC (6/5): Pleasent visit - We have visited here loads of times.
The hotel is looks abit tired now.Wall paper coming off in the dinning room.
Most of the staff was lovely .They were a couple on Friday night very rude .
I asked for a packet of cheese and onion crips which was on display.
Got told I couldn't have any due to not having any in Stock. But when I asked for the ones on the shelves I got told they where out of date.
False advertising comes to mind and they shud be put in the bin
The room was lovely and the bed was comfy.
- davidbD5894EK (6/5): Nice but definitely overpriced! - Expensive for what it was! The location was very handy but I still can’t work out why it cost so much. Don’t be fooled by parking in the “recommended” QPark as there’s a shopping centre car park just opposite the hotel that’s open 24 hours, more handy if you have a lot of luggage like we did. The bedroom clearly hadn’t been cleaned very thoroughly as there were two drinks bottles under the bed, and an odd-looking stain on the carpet under the desk. Whilst the service was excellent and the continental breakfast was fresh and tasty, I still can’t work out why it was nearly £200 for bed and breakfast!
- 949marions (10/5): Good location. Clean and friendly, with lovely helpful staff. - A wonderful location, right opposite Liverpool Lime Street Train Station, so only a short walk with our suitcase. Also well located to shops, bus stops and places of interest. The place itself is very clean, staffed by very helpful people who help make the holiday special. We slept well too!
The breakfast was tasty, very good value and there was plenty of selection. We were pleased that we made the decision the book breakfast.
- emmasE1583NB (10/5): A Diamond in Roby - Beautiful location, beautifully presented hotel which was immaculately clean. The parking facilities are great, always a space available. The reception is small but inviting where we were greeted by staff who were nothing but friendly and accommodating and nothing seemed to be a problem for them.
The family room was again immaculately clean, all beds made and cot provided. The bathroom was on the smaller side for a family room but usable and clean with all towels provided.
The staff at the restaurant were friendly and accommodating and made the whole experience of breakfast so much better. They were particularly great with our toddler and just showed off the Scouse nature of being friendly, ever so well.
Breakfast at the restaurant was lovely, very well priced with good choice of continental items which were quickly replenished when they had run out. Everything was very clean and there was a very good amount of tables available so we weren’t all packed in like sardines.
The hotel is well placed for travel into Liverpool as Roby station is a short walk across the road through a particularly lovely street in Roby. There are shops nearby, only a short walk away, and a large Asda supermarket a short drive away.
Great place to stay, value for money. Would definitely stay again when going home of which I do regularly.
- 810anthonyw (2/5): Was great.... But now not so great. - Was going to be 5 stars. Excellent, clean and tidy Premier Inn.
But it's 2.30am and the fan in my room is running constantly. Switched off all climate controls... Spoken to the night manager 3 times and he has tried to turn it off remotely 3 times.
He now says he can only sort it in the morning - which is great because I am leaving in the morning.
I think we will be closing our account with Premier Inn.
- 977stephieh (2/5): Appalling condition and overpriced. USB points did not work as were broken and adult daughter had to sleep on a pull out - Cleanliness exceptionally poor both inside rooms and outside hotel.
Will not stay here again appalling!!
Lack of working plug sockets and
- indianmerman (2/5): faulty towers - Very disjointed service and hotel . We booked early checkin but rooms were not ready in the afternoon. Our room was supposed to be cleaned but there was used tea and cups and a dirty flannel in the bathroom . Breakfast just as disjointed . We were shown to our table and were told they would bring cutlery and condiments but we helped ourselves and it was not done . No fruit juice or tea spoons . Grumpy person at the food station did not like that we wanted fried eggs as there was only one there dried up. The ones we got were snotty and not cooked well. All in all . Not a great experience.
- Druds (10/5): Great location - Great location. Hotel and room very clean. Quick check in. We were able to leave our luggage with the hotel as we arrived 3hrs before check in.
- luv2ski0 (10/5): Perfect location , lovely staff - Booked 2 nights in lime st premier inn . Right next train station- perfect location as when we arrived it was raining heavily .
We were unlucky to miss our first night as train was cancelled. When we arrived we were greeted by David , he was really helpful as I was apprehensive as missed our first nights stay and I couldn’t get through in the phone .
David and his colleague Kaitlyn were so helpful .
Recommending places to eat and drink
Well done premier inn for your recruitment & retention of lively staff .
The hotel is so central , everywhere is a short walk away
The bed is so comfy , room very clean with lovely vibe .
Delighted with our stay
Thank you
- KyproullaS (6/5): fairly disappointed - The rooms have no opening windows which is an issue especially for someone with asthma. Our bed had springs coming out from the side of the mattress. Renewal of the mattresses would be good.
Breakfast was not everyday tasty and some days they were out of eggs or bacon and we had to ask them to cook some.
Friendly staff
- I8398XQtimd (6/5): Usual Premier Inn standard, but bad smell in room 57 - The usual decent standard for Premier Inn but my one-night stay was marred by a terrible smell. I was in room 57 on the 2nd floor - at the end of a winding ramble from reception. I woke up to an overpowering aroma of drains. No-one at reception to report this to, so here it is.
- 440aidenr (10/5): Perfect overnight stay - Well located hotel with friendly staff and very clean. Slept really well - great bed! Will be back next time in Liverpool.
- garysW8984GH (10/5): 100 - 100% excellent. Would be going back. Staff also were 110%. Also the room was fresh and the food was also 100% ..............
- kimdQ216XL (10/5): Weekend stay - Lovely stay very warm welcome. Staff amazing friendly wouldn't expect anything less from Liverpool. Very clean comfortable rooms. Amenities great. Great weekend.
- sallyb670 (10/5): Great stay - Great location for Lime Street & theatre.
The staff are all very welcoming , friendly & really helpful.
The hotel is clean & the bed was comfy.
Breakfast choices were very good.
- 482sarahj (10/5): Staff were great, location perfect and our room met all our needs at a very reasonable price. - Staff were friendly, professional and went the extra mile.
Extremely convenient for everything Liverpool has to offer. One minute from Lime Street Station but not disturbed by any noise.
- matthC4268SE (10/5): Stayed one night and had the breakfast - Excellent. We stayed for one night. We had a warm reception on arrival.
The room was good and clean.
We had breakfast which was cooked to order and very well done and served by friendly helpful staff.
Thanks,
- sallyt266 (6/5): Disappointed and not up to premier inn standard - On entry there was no one in reception even when we rung the bell so we went for a drink in the restaurant. We returned around 3 when there was someone in reception. We made our way to our room, no 17 which we found around the corner by the lift. We went in and there was a rickety broken fan around the neck of the fan so it was blowing on the floor, no air conditioning at all. When we looked around the room there was no side table by the bed and the usb connection didn’t work. As I have asthma I need two pillows to sleep but there was only one each side. There were stains on the walls and the skirting boards, same in the bathroom. Fortunately we were out most of the evening and only slept there. It’s a shame as we normally stay at premier inns but this hotel was definitely not up to their standard
- D4382SHemmad (10/5): Made by staff! Courtney and Ellie amazing! - Stayed for 4 weeks at hotel due to training course. Ideal for what I needed. Rooms clean and comfortable. Overall hotel could do with upgrade. WiFi isn’t greatest, but I was there to work. Staff are amazing nothing too much trouble. Restaurant popular so booking is a must. Courtney and Ellie are a credit to premier inn, went above and beyond for me being alone and away from home and family. 5⭐️ service every time. Food enjoyable menu basic. Thank you for making my trip what is was.
- mickyclow (10/5): Safari and Anfield tour - Stayed here over night as we had a safari trip to knowsley on Saturday and a stadium tour at Anfield on Sunday
A very nice and warm welcome from yhe staff ..the rooms where clean and comfortable beds as expected from a Premier Inn
Food in the morning was cooked fresh and just what we wanted ....didnt get the chance to eat in the restaurant as it was fully booked which speaks volume to me as it was popular.
Will defo stay here again next time we come to liverpool
- 175callumg (10/5): Roby stay - Claire on check in couldnt do enough for us. Friendly from the minute we walked through the door. Made sure that our table was booked for the eveing and morning. Gave the kids colouring packs. Have some great recommendations about rhings to do locally. Absolutely fantastic tram member
- ebonyrosepr (2/5): The dirtiest premier Inn - The dirtiest I have even seen.
Complained upon arrival ar people personal hairs being in the bathroom and we got moved to the only other family room available. I had to complain again as again people's personal hairs and poop on the toilet seat. The receptionist came and cleaned the toilet and sink. Bit the mould in the bathroom made the whole room smell and there was hair in the bath. The room was covered in dust and there was blood on the mattress protector which we discovered after we stayed as I strip the beds for the cleaners.
The entire Inn was filthy the bar was sticky on the floors and tables and the restaurant was thick with dust
It is a shame as the staff on a general outlook were very pleasant and the building is an attractive place to stay.
If it was not for my daughter having a zoo experience nearby I would of left and gone home.
- H2917TGstever (2/5): Lack of sleep very hot in room - The hottest year
No fans in room lift broken on the Friday of the Saturday we arrived still broke on departure Monday
Two bad nights sleep because of hot room windows open no fan pub locals shouting and sitting under windows though to the early hours
